Yesterday, I'm reminded that God can use anyone and the

greatest you guys probably have heard this before. The greatest

ability is our availability. So the Lord is not looking

at how good we are at cuddain skill or how

experienced we are. Whether you have skill, you have experience,

it doesn't matter. As long as you have a willing heart,

God can use you. Amen. So I'm excited for the

coming days to see more teams coming to ELI. In actually, lie,

we are having a shortage of musicians. I know that

in exb you guys are blessed with the abundance of musicians. Right.

You know, I can't clap properly as someone's shed last week,

But it doesn't matter, right. We need more people to come,

and we want people to come and help us in

an area of music. You know, we run church where

whether we can clap, we can sing, or we can't

worship continues man. But sometimes it helped to have good

musicians to lead the way because we also believe in

excellence in serving God. So we want to give our

best to God. Amen. Line. As you were there as well,

and a couple of you were there as well. I'm

going to share the same message, probably a different direction.

We'll see how the lord leads. Probably start off with

my trip from Sri Lanka. I just came back two

weeks ago from Sri Lanka. It was like a work

support group retreat my root basically. Okay, you guys will

know that I'm a half Indian and a half Chinese,

so I'm from mixed parent teach Ever I go, I

see more ch Indians these days, and I always tell

them that Chindian we will rule the world one day.

So I have a fifty percent of my root in

Sri Lanka. My paternal grandparents came from Sri Lanka in

a place called Jaffna. So do you have my slight? No,

no slid, I okay, no race, but we will wasp

up to you now my slights. Worry about it if

you can flesh it up. Because I got some pictures

to share. So when I landed on Sri Lanka, it

felt like a homecoming that finally I landed my feet

in this nation called Sri Lanka. Because when I was young,

we didn't really identify as Indians. Indian I always call

it ourselves. Salon is right because Slon used to be

Sri Lanka in the past. When you're drink your Salon

tea and all, that's where your tea came from. Right,

because Sri Lanka is famous for the tea. So the

first day itself, we went to a place called Pidu

rang Gala. So we went to this place called pidur

Ragala where we went to the rock climbing. I never

expected the trip to be super intense on the first

day itself, so we climbed quite quite steep, quite high up.

I wish I can show you the picture later. And

when we were up there, we were just enjoying the

serene whew. Just imagine Broger probably yeah, probably similar as Broger,

but slightly high. I think I want to give God

praise because the pick was actually overcrowded. Right, we were

supposed to view the sunset. Obviously there was no sunset

because the clouds were just hiding the sun. And when

we needed to climb down, you only have one tril down,

one trail up, one tril down, so we needed to

climb down. Basically you have tree line merging into one

familiar those of you who are driving kre and probably

some money. It's like three lanes sally merged to one

just to go down. We needed to wait about forty

five minutes to one hour and it gets it gets

done right, So praise scot that. I'm probably show the

first picture, the first picture that was weird. Ah, how

about that? All right? So we were we were at

the top the Piru Rangala rock climb. Now notice the

other rock behind you. They don't want to share the

story the rock behind Okay, So next, so this is

how it is. Uh, it's like a giant rock stuck there.

All right. So I spent about half an hour waiting

under the rock just to go down. Our spring got

hold the rock. Don't let it tumble. I don't know

appearing hitlines Malaysian X number of Malaysian dott in Sri Lanka.

But anyway, so it was quite dark. We were actually

making our way down. The shoe that I wore couldn't

griep properly, and for the first time after a long time,

I felt really vulnerable. You know, guys, if we can

do things our own, we will do right. We wouldn't

even call for help. Right, So I felt really humble.

I needed to call for help because there was this

There was a part where from the rock you have

to go down to another rock next to the rock.

It was basically a wine if you fall means you

can fall quite deep, no road prepared for you. For help.

Praise God for amazing tourries who came in and helped,

because people in front of me they all left. Really

so I was like the guy who will stop the

back of the line. So needed to ask someone to

come in and help, and they were willing to help.

Praise Scotland. So life preservation. Okay. Next the rock that

you see this is basically they call it the Strigaya

Ancient rock fortress. In other words, it's also known as

the Lion Rock. Previously, many many years ago, about three

thousand BC, a king decided to build a palace and

a temple right on top of the rock. That's why

it's called a fortress rock. It's a UNESCO World Heritage side.

You gotta pay USD thirty five just to enter then

climb the rock. Yeah, it's that. It's that is that pricingler? Right?

So we went up next light. You notice that they

actually built staircases up, so you don't really have to

climb up through the rock. The air stair cases. I

took this from the lion from the first rock that

I climb, So just zoom in if you have a camera,

just zoom in. Thanks for promotion. Uh you get this, Okay. Next,

so at the bottom of the rock is basically used

to be like a huge area. They will have their fortress.

You have river filled with crocodiles. That's what the tour

guide dollars. And we needed to just climb in. Next line,

so I climb up. That was where we were. You

see the round rock the other day, uh, the day before.

Basically that's where we were. Next. Next, an amazing view.

So we're all climbing up stairs somehow. Wherever we go

we see school kids having excursion and kind of children

they really have no fear and they just go with

their uniform and they just climb. Then down Da da

da da. All the adults like this like we are

more cautious. Luck right next, So when we were at

the top, we managed to view everything, meaning the ruined temples,

the the palace and all. Right. We passed through in

a cave where they also have some drawings, ancient drawings, right,

I've gotta share this. The drawings that we view are

quite interesting because if a lot of topless women, let

me ask the tour guy, like, hey, why are say

that when the king babe or the topless women will

come dancing around the king right back? Then? Then I reminded, wow,

praase God, we have Jesus, he's a king who is

not like that. All right, you read the Bible. You

also know Solomon have how many cockmbines and wife more

than a thousand? Right? So he tells me that, you know,

when power rests upon kings, they can really use their

power to do a lot of nonsense things. Right. But anyway,

I thought it was quite interesting observation that whether you

are a king in this continent, you are a king

in this theater continent. I guess men, when you're given

too much power, you have the tendency to veer away. Next, oh,

I want to show tropical fruits. Why the fruits we

have here? They have it as well. You got Souso,

You've got rom Buddan, they got Bengostan, You've got Durian

duran is on the file. Right, that's a heavily fruit. Right,

so we actually tried the Durian. There you have corns. Next,

when we passed by a town called Candy, I saw

this drawing. I thought it's quite interesting. On the right.

Basically you have a mobile phone, a smart mobile, and

slaving people. It's a very deep representation. How many you

cannot leave without your mobile phone? Yeah? How many? You

know while I'm preaching, you have the urge to check

your what's that you have the urgency to check your

ig or WhatsApp. So the picture spoke to me a

lot about how modern day churches are suffering in what

I call a cancer called the usage of mobile phone.

Look around you doing a time of worship. How many

actually take out their phone and they use their phone.

How many actually, during the Word of God are distracted

even by their mobile phone. Don't talk about church, talk

about work, talk about at home. How many we actually

spend more time in our mobile devices than communicating meaningfully

to people around us. How about lunchtime as well? So

these are things that I have observed. Next, so on Sunday,

I need to confess, like I confess to the other

church in Eli. But before I do the confession, I

need to share that there are some pictures I can't

show to you because we also witness particular religious and

culture periade. Right, So we went to Candy and before

that we went to different cave temples as well. So

we climb our way up with weakness at the same

stretch at is three or four cave temples. So in

the cave temples, they have a lot of statues of Buddha. Right,

and the talk I was just sharing that, oh, previously

the kings will build the cave temples. One king says

that you know, if he has victory over his enemy,

then he make a while to go into the cave

to build the temple is very well preserved. Unfortunately, a

lot of the gemstone that they used to build was

taken away to a point when you enter the cave

temple today you'll see a sec TV. So that shows

you that there were a lot of precious items used

to build the temple. Right. So during the festival, we

also witness how people from majority Buddhists Austrilanka, majority of

them they practice Buddhism. Uh, they are way of ritual

the way they do quote unquote religion. So of course

I didn't participate in it. We were there as tourists

to just observe, right. And one thing I've noticed is

that they are really focused in their way of quote

unquote worship, in their way of participating ah. And they

have a lot of respect to what they are doing.

And it makes me can't help but to also compare right,

modern churches today, contemporatary churches today, the way we approach worship,

whether we would be as serious when we come to

church in our focus to God. Right, we went to

this temple called the Temple of the Sacred Tooth relig

where apparently they stare the the tooth of Buddha himself. Right,

So the tempo lty story. So you have different monks

guarding it, and and and and it reminded me about

Christianity right, our faith that Jesus says that he is

the Resurrection and the Life. UH. Today we don't have

to go to to Israel to look at Jesus born

to look at his his coffin. For example, he doesn't

have a coffin. He has a tomb. But the tomb

is anti praise call ah. So we we I mentioned

to see comparisons like this of just different practices and

how Christianity is different from from Buddhism, right, And it's

an eye opener. It's really an eye opener that they

take their religion very very seriously, and it's a call

for us to also perhaps should reconsider our faith to

a point where when we approach our faith, we should

also approach it with intense focus. We should approach God

with more reverence than before. So on Saturday, I need

to confess that I didn't go to church and say uh,

But on a Sunday, what we did was we went

to this place called Daya Niwasa. It was basically founded

by Mother Teresa. All of you will know Mother Teresa

if you don't know, she was an amazing woman called

by God from Albania, spend most of the time in

Calcutta in India, ministering for abandoned, ministering to abandoned children,

ministering to people who are oppressed, people who are underserved

and all. So what we did was we bought a

lot of essential items and we decided to donate to

this house one hundred kg of rice. Trainy cagey of

my Lord, think about bulky items. So the day before

we went to the supermarket and we just raided the supermarket,

say that we need this and all everyone just take

a lot of trolleys loading into when Sunday morning we

went there. So while we were walking around next like

we'll show you this, Jesus said to Mother treesa come

carry me into the holes of the poor. Come be

my light. I cannot go alone go amongst them. Carry

me with you into them. That spoke to me about

the heart of missions, because Mother Trees are if you

talk about a person representing Christ, following the commandment of Christ,

representing the love of Christ, Mother Trees are to me

is one of the greatest persons who have demonstrats that.

And she acted on the conviction that God had given her.

She acted on the conviction that she heard from the

Holy Spirit, and she obeyed. So go and study her life.

It's an amazing, amazing woman that has inspired many. So

the home that we wan was actually for the abandoned children.

Most of them suffered from cerebral palsy, so connectively they

can't really talk to you, but they can have a

form of communication with you. Most of them were abandoned

by their by their parents. So we had a time

connecting speaking to them as well. Next so I came

back with this thought, right, how do we bring the

Gospel to a world of multi cultural beliefs and shared

John three sixteen and John fourteen six. If you're a Christian,

you need to know these two scriptures. What is John

three sixteen for God soul, love of the world that

he gave his only begoden son, that whosoever believed in

him shall not perish. But I have I have a

lasting life John fourteen six. Jesus is the way, the

truth and the life. No one comes to the Father

accept through him. So it is the responsibility of all

Christians to fulfill Jesus' last commandment and make it our

first priority. I like what passa palancead yesterday. You know,

when you talk about the context of missions, you don't

have to think far like going to another continent, going

to another country, going to another city. You just got

to think what are you doing now in your community?

Because that's the pattern of a mission plan that Jesus

have given to the disciples, right x one. And you

shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you,

and you'll be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, first Judea, Samaria,

and then to the all to the ends of the earth. Right,

So start where you are. So we have your Bible

turned to X chapter sixteen. We're gonna read from verses

six to fifteen. If you're there, say yes, yes, yes,

yes yes. X Chapter sixteen is between X chapter fifteen

and seventeen. That's right, So money can count. Okay, Act

chapter sixteen, verse six. Now, when they had gone through

Firsia and the region of Glacier, they were forbidden by

the Holy Spirit to preach the Word in Asia. Now

who are they? They basically represents three people, Paul, Silas

and Timothy. Right. It was also the very first time

Paul met Timothy. And we all know that Paul sees

Timothy as his spiritual son. But the Act sixteen is

a starting point where Paul came to know Timothy. Now,

the Holy Spirit forbidden them to preach the Word in Asia,

not because God doesn't love Asia, right, It is because

the time for the godspel to enter through there it's

not there. And then because God has a larger plan

for the Gospel to first go to Europe. Okay, After

they had come to Maijia, they tried to go into Bithinia,

but the spirit did not permit them. Wow, two times

the spirit did not permit them to go to a

certain location. So you got to take notree of that. So,

passing by Maijia, they came down to Truss and a vision,

everyone say, a vision appeared to Paul in the night.

A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying,

come over to Macedonia and help us. And after he

had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia,

concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the

gospel to the Therefore, sailing from Troyes, we ran a

straight cause to some ofth Raise and the next day

came to Neapolis, and from there to Philippi, which is

the foremost city of the part of Macedonia, a colony.

And we were staying in that city for some days.

And on the seventh day when we went out to

the city to the riverside where prayer was customarily made,

and we sat down and spoke to the women who

met there. Now a certain woman named Lydia hurt Us.

She was a seller of purple from the city of

Tayo Tira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart

to heat the things spoken by Paul, and when she

and her household were baptized, she beackers saying, if you

have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come

to my house and stay. So she persuaded us. Macedonia

is also known as a gateway to Europe, so the

Lord was directing them to pass by Macedonia so that

the Gospel can be preached to Europe. And you realize

that the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision. Paul

did not hesitate, but to just go. I realized that

in the modern church today, when God really shows a vision,

when God really convicts the heart, there is a tendency

to reluctantly obey God rather than to say yes Lord.

I want to ask church to be an excuse proof Church.

I want to ask Church, when we hear from God,

to immediately obey God, to do the things that you

have placed in your heart, to go to the place

that He has called you to be. Because we have

to understand that a missions work must be led by

the Holy Spirit. A missions work cannot be led by

our own flesh, because if it is led by our

own flesh. It is known as charity. A missions work

without proclaiming Christ, a missions work without demonstrating the power

of the Gospel is just doing good, which is charity.

But if we say that we want to demonstrate the Gospel,

we want to go to the place where God has

called us to be, it has to be led by

the Holy Spirit. And about Romans, it says that as

many that are led by the Spirit of God, these

are the children of God. So if you're a child

of God, you must be led by the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit can speak to you. The Holy speak

can give you burden. The Holy speak can give you

that unction. And to hear from the Holy Spirit, we

have to ask ourselves. Are we close to the Holy Spirit?

Are we abiding in Christ so that we can hear

from Him through His Spirit. Make no mistake, guys, when

you believe in Christ, he can speak to anyone. All

we need to do is to humble ourselves and say

that God, here am I speak to me for your

servant lessons. God can speak to anyone because He can

use anyone. Macedonia back then wasn't the most fantastic or

richest place, and sometimes we tend to negotiate with God,

saying that God, I can't go to this particular area

because it's uncomfortable for me. We're so used to city

life that we struggled to enter into rural area. My

very first mission trip, I was saved in May twenty

May two or four. A year later, March two h five,

I went for my first mission street less than a

year being a Christian, didn't even finish reading the Bible yet,

not even a church leader. But it's just a child

of God. When the church asks can you go for

a missions? I sign up, not knowing what I sign

up for. It was in a place called the Murlow

in Cameron Highlands. We took a car ride from Subang.

We went to Cameron Highlands four hours, hiked the pastor back.

Then will put us all in his jip enter into

the tea plantation to a point where the jip cannot

enter anymore. That's where he dropped us, and he tells

us you walked inside the first village you will see

is that village? Sa? Yeah? How will you pick us

up on Sunday? Never mind, you just remember this area.

So we climbed.

Back.

Then we all invested in very nice backpack were put

in all the can food and all just imagine the load.

We walked in Farurs climb up, down, up down Farwurst

enter the village. The first thing I saw, or the

first thing I noticed as I entered into the village

was wow, why are there two types of houses? You

have the house made of wood with a nice zinc roof,

you got toilet inside, and you see those bamboo houses

with at the roofing. So that was the first thing

I noticed. So you've entered, then we got to know

the people there. We actually stayed inside one of the

orang Aslee house, which is h the one that made

out of bamboo. Sort of curiosity, we asked, why is

it that there are two types of housing here? You

don't have to record, but I'll let you know. It

was told to Earth. It showed me how people stood

for their faith despite whatever temptations quote unquote luxury given.

They stood for Christ. They stood for Christ. And you

have another group who didn't convert. They still practice their

own belief and it was told to it is quite

cute because they can't give up it. In Wildbo thought

they was cute, and so we spend time there right

about three days ministering to them, speaking to them. In fact,

when you go for mission strip, especially across culture, you

think you're there to bless them. When you return, you

learn more from them and you're more blessed than you

think you're blessing. There. It was the first time we

bathe in reaver. Let me give you a tip in

case you want to go and bathe in river right,

trying not to be the last few in the line,

because at the top there are other people bathing, and

there are other people doing their toilet stuff, so the

water will all flow. Was my first time. I mean

this means sound a bit shocked to you poo in

an open area. Everything was done at the river. We

bathed at the river, we brush out it at the river.

Everything was the river. And I went in there two

h five, six, seven, eight nine, five years straight because

the following year I became a team leader to bring

in the team there. And as the church there was

strengthened growing, they decided to build for guests who are

going in our own hat. So they equip it with

their kitchen a hat all using bamboo. Then got two rooms,

one for the guys, one for girls, and they built

next to the heart a church. It's really really, it's

really amazing. So if you need a fresh touch from

the Lord, you want your faith to be resurrected, to

come alive, you've got to go to places like this

because when you come back, you will realize that whatever

the challenge you are facing, and as much as yes,

it is still a challenge, the faith of the people there,

the demonstration of their faith will show to you that

all things are possible, all things we were told. Whatever

they serve you, you must eat, you must see it.

So they will usually serve you their best luck. Yeah,

whether you like it or you don't, you just have

to eat it. It takes a lot of humility. It

takes a lot of humility to to go from missions,

and humility builds correct it builds a sense of commitment

towards the work of the Lord. So we know from

the life of Paul, when he heard from God, when

he saw the vision, he went, a vision from God

can only come from the Holy Spirit, can only come

from the Holy Spirit drove to it says, And it

shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out

my spirit on all flesh, your sons, and your daughters

shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your

young men shall see visions. Vision comes from the Holy Spirit.

A vision from God can only come from the Holy Spirit.

Every revision will carry a specific instruction. So the vision

to Paul, the specific instruction was go to master. Do.

But when you receive a burden from the Lord, when

you receive a vision from the Lord, what is the

specific thing? What is the specific instruction he is asking

you to do different people, God will lay different burden

for you. Really, ah, you know, you can go downtown

kl and you pass by refugee kids. You got ten

people passed by refugee kids. Nine not feeling anything, but

one felt a certain sense of compassion for them. It

is very highly likely that is the burden that the

Lord has given to you for children and the streets.

You can go into an orphanage house like daj right

then go in, Yeah you know, it's an assigned work.

Nine coming out feeling that yeah, okay, it was a

good engagement. But one felt that you want to do

more for kids who are abandoned. The burden comes from

the lot and you got to act on that burden.

I personally went to street feeding. Before we partnered with

an organization, we went downtown KL. You must understand that

when people leave on street, they are two types of people.

Number One, they don't have choice because the family asked

them to go out. Number Two, they are people who

actually choose to live on streets rather than burdening their

own family. So we went in. The organization basically brought

us through a different area of KL And when it

comes to street feeding, they do it differently. They don't

just hang out pack foot to people. What they did

was they open up like a stock. So imagine you

lay out fifteen tables, then you put your chest right,

then you have the counter there and you do like

economic mixed rice. Everyone have the same meal. But when

it comes to the drinks, it's different. Right, you get

all your we call them street friends. So when all

the street friends come, they will all take a seat,

and you have volunteers like us coming to ask you,

a street friend, what would you like to have today?

Coffee or tea? So we're very curious. We ask why

is it that you know you are structured to uperate

this way and not another mechanism where you just give

mineral water or whatever. We all talk to us. When

you live on street day to day, you're not presented

with choices. Whatever people give you you just take. But

when you come to how we serve our street friends,

we give them a choice of coffee or tea because

we want them to feel a sense of dignity to

be able to choose what they can't have for themselves.

That spoke to me, you know a lot on how

we should approach different missions. Work. From there, we move

to a mobile clinic, so doctor will volunteer do different

basic health check for street friends who need it. Right,

I must say that I have seen more courteous people

on the street than I have seen people being courteous

when they're at the place when they are privileged. When

you just pass them a simple tea, when you pass

them a simple meal, they will say thank you, thank

you so much, and they dress up for the occasion.

You know, they dressed their best. They came the God

Pebs is a reminder for us, you know what is

the burden that God has given to us? Because God

gave me the burden to also support this organization during

COVID to release finances for at least a year to

support their work. Can't imagine COVID. We were in lockdown streets,

friends were there. Who is feeding them? Who is doing

making sure that things are okay for them? So I

work with this organization and the specific burden that God

has given to me. As I said in Neelie, do

you remember, is actually all folks. It's actually all folks.

I don't know why, but I like to talk to

older people, especially those were gray hairs, twice my age,

twice my age, three times my age. Recently I visited

in Neeli. We had a we had a we had

an Auntie celebrated ninety year the birthday recently. So God

also placed my heart to go to the house, just

a fellowship, you know. I remember one day older gentlemen

tell told me this that, wow, you young people are

very smart. I say, huh, what do you mean by

we are very smart?

Oh?

You see you know how to use your handful this

and there? Very smarter these days. I look at him,

I say uncle. But here older people we always call uncle. Yeah,

uncle yeah, So I say so, I say uncle. It's

not not by relation, I say, uncle. We may be smart,

but there's one thing we lack. That's right, we lack

lives wisdom. I say, uncle, you should be proud you

have when ahead of us, you have lives wisdom, so

that when we learn from your wisdom we get better,

we get better. So God has given me that burden,

o folks. And also through another organization, supported them during

COVID as well. So in COVID, I supported two organizations.

But that's just my story, right. I'm not here to

blow a trumpet, but it's just causing you to perhaps reflect.

What is a specific burden God has given to you?

What is the people group? What is a community that

God has given to you? I mean campus students themselves,

is a special breed of people? Is a special tribe

that needs reaching out. Recently someone told me faster when

there's food, campus students will turn up. Maybe if that

is the burden that God has given to you, then

open up your house right, ask campus students to come

fellowship and all obedience is the key to the fulfillment

of the vision. Obedience is the key. My very first

international cross cultural, cross continent mission streets to Boswana, our

church in Botswana, it was a burden that God has

given to us, at least given to me doing them

and I decided to travel alone because to travel there

is not cheap. So in the early years when God

told me this was in twenty seventeen, go and encourage

Buster Lazarus. I felt compelled to go because Lazras used

to study in Neilin. That's where I discipled him. From there,

he helped us to pioneer London. From London then Botswana.

So when he studied his PhD in Prectoria and South Africa,

every weekend he will take four hours car right from

Prectoria to Harboroni, four hours go then far hours back.

Right you travel on a Friday Sunday, you come back

four hours? Is I doing church in Binangla? Right? Is

I doing church in Binang just that you stay in

Sa money right? Four hours go up? Or doing church

in Singapore? Maybe in those of you one anyone called

to Singapore. But anyway, it's like four hours. And the

road condition is not like the highways here in Malaysia

because there are some interior roads you need to travel.

So God gave me the burden ronson go and just

sit in his car and be an encouragement. In fear

and trembling, I say, God, you called I go, So

I went back then, I didn't earn as much as

I winning now. Okay, let's just put it as as della.

And when I travel this really I use wisdom, okay,

because I'm going to share next may shock some of you.

When I traveled to Botswana back then, I actually went

by credit. So when I came back from Boswana, it

took me four to five months just to clear all

my credit. But I did a calculation that I'm able

to pay off everything. Okay, So don't take a credit

to go for a mission. Street that is, to me,

can be a form of foolishness, not knowing that whether

you can't pay it off or not. Unless God tells

you that he will provide for you and you go

by credit, you go by credit. But for me, usually

I will make sure I'm able to pay off. Of course,

got to trust God for provision, so I pay off.

When I was in Botswana, I was really encouraged as

well because back then our church wasn't as big as

it is today. Back then was just one church plan.

Today you have three church plan which is Mochudi and Pakalani,

so praise God for that. So I was there. I

just want to encourage our friend Lesris and I actually

took the right from Victoria all the way to Harboroni

and he was just sharing with me, Oh this how
