You're listening to a message to go from X Church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
The topic for today is be at peace. Today. I'm
-
going to share the same word in x neelai because
-
his x Neli. Later we actually run it in bilingual
-
Swangi in Onean Hawaii, so we will have the Mandarin
-
word right. So those of you today who can read
-
the Mandarin do enjoying the slightes as well. The contact
-
is taken from the Book of Judges, chapter six, and
-
the Book of Judges is the time when the nation
-
of Israel do not have a king, do not have
-
a king yet, And the Bible says in the Book
-
of Judges that they all live their life in what
-
is right in their eyes. Okay, it was a time
-
when they were already entered into the Promised Land. But
-
yet this new generation did not know God. Despite the
-
commandments that was passed down to them, despite the great
-
stories of how God has delivered them out of Egypt,
-
the house of Bondage, to their promised land, they did
-
not live alife that was honoring to God. They did
-
not live a life that was pleasing to God. The
-
Book of Judges basically is a time where God raised
-
different individuals up to lead the nations, especially when the
-
nation is being attacked by different enemies. God raised people
-
like Deborah. God raised people like Gideon to deliver the
-
nation of Israel out of every oppression. So in Judges
-
chapter six, I'm going to give you a context. We're
-
going to read in chapter six ver was one. Then
-
the children of Israel did evil in the side of
-
the Lord. So the Lord delivered them into the hand
-
of Median for seven years was two, and the hand
-
of Median prevailed against Israel because of the Median knights.
-
The children of Israel made for themselves the dance, the
-
caves and the strongholds which are in the mountain. The
-
scripture is very clear that the children of Israel did
-
evil in the side of the Lord. And what evil
-
was this. They departed from the commandment of the Lord.
-
They began to worship are the gods, which are obviously
-
against their commandment. And the Lord delivered them into the
-
hand of the media Mediannites. And we know that they
-
stayed basically in quattas, in squats right in dance caves
-
around the mountas. They don't really have a place of dwelling.
-
I have a slight to talk about the overview, and
-
they were greatly impoverished. You can read later on in
-
verse three. So it was whenever Israel has sown Midia,
-
nights would come up, also am kinds and the people
-
of the eaves would come up against them. Then they
-
would and came against them and destroy the produce of
-
the earth as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance
-
for Israel, neither ship, nor aucs nor donkey. So whatever
-
they have sown, whatever they have farmed in the land,
-
it was all taken away by the enemy. So think
-
about living in a life where there is great impourishment,
-
great poverty. The harvest was destroyed, but praise God. In
-
verse seven to eight, it says that they cry out
-
to God because of this oppression. They tried cry out
-
to God. God. Now man no mistakes that God is loved.
-
The Bible says God loves us, God loves his people.
-
And often undesired things happen in our life could also
-
be stemmed from the fact that we ourselves we have
-
departed from the Lord. And always remember that we're seeing
-
there is a consequence. So the consequences of the seeing
-
of the people back then led them to a place
-
where they were oppressed, led them to a place where
-
not only they were poor in spirit, but there was
-
no progress in this nation. So when the people cry
-
out to the Lord, the Lord answered, and the Lord
-
sent an angel to speak to Gideon, and basically the
-
Angel of the Lord told Gideon that you will deliver
-
this nation out as one person. One person. Sometimes God
-
doesn't need to use one hundred people to deliver. Sometimes
-
he just need that one person to awail himself or
-
herself to be used by God greatly. And a classic
-
story here where we all know that Gideon doubted his
-
calling in God because Gideon begin to give excuses like, Lord,
-
I'm from the weakest tribe you know who am I.
-
God loves to use people like this. God loves to
-
use people who doubt themselves because the Lord will affirm you,
-
the Lord will annoying you. The Lord will use you
-
mightily for his glory. So after the affirmation, we know
-
that in verses nineteen to twenty one, Gideon gave an
-
offering and the Angel of the Lord sent fire to
-
consume it. So after all this in worse trentyy true,
-
I believe so correct. So we look at what's twenty two. Now,
-
Gideon perceived that he was the Angel of the Lord.
-
So Gideon said, alas, oh Lord God, I have seen
-
the Angel of the Lord face to face. Then the
-
Lord said to him, peace be with you. Do not fear,
-
you shall not die. I resonate in my spirit that
-
salvas this morning. We are facing a situation where it
-
seems bleak, a future that you can't envision, a relationship
-
that you feel is impossible to reconcile. And the Lord
-
prophetic word for you this morning in your spirit, I
-
believe is peace be with you. Do not fear you
-
shall not A sense that very strongly for some of you.
-
And let me say that again, peace be with you.
-
Do not fear you shall not die. Because some of
-
you you're feeling like the people back then. Everything that
-
you do, it yielded no result. Everything that you build,
-
someone else took it away from you. You felt a
-
sense of oppression, you felt a sense of injustice, just
-
felt a sense of betrayal. So it's like a picture
-
back then, these people they actually worked hard, safe you
-
were gripped by fear. Gideon was found thrashing at the
-
floor away from other people. He was hidden basically because
-
of fear of the enemy. But today the Lord wants
-
you to come out of that fear, and he's saying
-
to you, peace be with you. Do not fear, You
-
shall not die. With God. There is no date end.
-
Here's your cry. And you have been And if you
-
have been far away from the Lord, come back to him, please,
-
Because the children of israelle they came back to him.
-
They cry out to the Lord, and the Lord send
-
an angel to speak to Gideon, affirm him, to say
-
that he will save this nation. Maybe today it is
-
also a call for some of us to come back
-
to the Lord. He loves you. He loves you verse
-
twenty three, sorry, verse twenty four. So Gideon built an
-
altar there to the Lord and called it the Lord
-
is Peace. Many of you will be familiar with the
-
term Jehovah shalom. That's where this scripture came about. The
-
Lord is Peace. To this day, it is still an
-
opera of the biders Abey's rights. First point for today,
-
when there is no peace in our heart and our mind,
-
and when there's no growth or success, we need to
-
check where are we with the lot Instead of looking outwards,
-
look inwards. Where are we with the Lot? Are we
-
living alive honoring him? Or have we turned our hearts
-
away from him? Have our hearts grown cold before the Lord?
-
And when undesired situations happen in our life, our hearts
-
grow colder and colder, harder and harder, more away from
-
the Lot. If we want to say progress in our life,
-
if we want to see change in our life, the
-
first step is always to reflect on our walk with
-
the Lord. And if at all we have been far away,
-
if at all we have grown cold, it is to
-
return to him. God is always there. God has never
-
left you. God have never forsaken you. God have never
-
left the people. It is the people who have left him.
-
In a time of chaos, darkness, and doubting of even
-
his own calling, Gideon proclaimed the Lord is peace. I
-
find it amazing. He could have proclaimed that the Lord
-
is our deliverer. He could have proclaimed that the Lord
-
is strong and mighty. He could have just proclaimed that
-
the Lord the Lord, he is Lord, he is almighty.
-
But Gideon chose to proclaim the Lord is peace. To me,
-
it speaks of He proclaimed a need that the Lord
-
had met. There is a lot giving them peace, the
-
Lord giving him peace. So the peace Gideon experience came
-
from his confidence in God's protection and provision even when
-
the task ahead of him seemed impossible. How can I,
-
as a one person deliver the nation among the nations
-
who are stronger than us? And it serves as a
-
reminder that peace is not dependent on circumstances, but our
-
peace is dependent on God's presence. So if you are
-
looking for peace, I pray that we will find peace
-
in the right place. The piece here speaks about wholeness, safety,
-
and a restoration of order. And when it's chaos, it
-
always speaks about disorder. But when the peace of God
-
comes into that situation, when a piece of God comes
-
into your life, he will bring about an order. So
-
the key point today that I will leave you with
-
is God is peace. The Lord is Peace. Jehoah shalom
-
seek God sik is peace. Peace is not a state.
-
Peace is not a feeling. The world will tell you
-
need to do certain rituals before you can have peace,
-
and that ritual may include a certain form of meditation.
-
That ritual may include disconnect from your routine of life,
-
go to somewhere where it's serene, it is quiet, and
-
you begin to focus on your inner self so that
-
you will have peace. The world is looking for peace
-
in different methods, in different practices, but for us as Christian,
-
it is clear. The Lord is peace, meaning peace can
-
only be found in God. And if you're a Christian
-
here you have been walking with the Lord and you're
-
trying to find peace in different rituals practices. Today, I
-
want to encourage you to just turn your heart fully
-
to the Lord, because when I reflect on my life,
-
sometimes me too fall into the temptation where I would
-
try other things, and the Lord will always be you know,
-
when all else feel you turn to the Lord. But
-
today the Lord wants to flip it around. Let him
-
be the first. If you want peace, turn to him.
-
So path to peace the first step we need to know.
-
The most important peace is peace with God through Jesus.
-
You can have peace with man, but if you don't
-
have peace to God, it will lead you to know peace.
-
But if you have peace with God, even if you
-
do not have peace with man, you will always have
-
the peace of God, always always. Second Corinthians, chapter five,
-
verses eighteen to nineteen, say now all things are of God,
-
who has reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and
-
as given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is that
-
God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not
-
imputing their trespassers to them, and has committed to us
-
the word of reconciliation Romans five one to two. Therefore,
-
having been justified by faith, we have peace with God
-
through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have
-
access by faith into disgrace in which we stand and
-
rejoice in the in hope of the glory of God.
-
We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
-
So as the Angel of the Lord drew near to
-
Gideon spoke to Gideon, Jesus has also drawn near to us.
-
Are we ready to respond to say he is our peace?
-
Are we fully confident by saying that he is our peace?
-
Peace can only be found in Jesus Isaiah nine, verse six.
-
Foreignto us a child is born, unto us, a son
-
is given. Very popular scripture for Christmas fat Christmas is
-
coming December, so first right, wow, and the government will
-
be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called
-
wonderful counselor Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. If
-
you want peace, you're looking for peace, you should go
-
to the source of peace. John fourteen twenty seven. Jesus
-
said to his disciples peace I live with you. My peace.
-
I give to you. Not as the world gives. Do
-
I give you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither
-
let it be afraid. My peace I give to you,
-
the Lord, says Jesus, this morning is giving you his peace.
-
Would you open your heart and receive his peace for you?
-
The Lord is asking us this morning to find peace
-
in the right place. I thought about our life today.
-
I thought about the situation where we live in today.
-
I thought about the time of COVID and post COVID.
-
I thought about the time where even as a nation,
-
we'rein a span of five years, we had at least
-
three prime ministers of all lost count But it spoke
-
about political uncertainty. When things in the political realm is uncertain,
-
investors have no confidence towards the nation, which then impacted
-
our economy. UH. COVID also was a time where companies
-
were restructuring, resizing. UH some took pay hit and the
-
world that we've lived in today. Some have termed it
-
as v uca. Probably you have heard it Wukha world.
-
We basically stands for a world that is wallatoile. Even
-
Joe politics. No one would have imagined that Russia would
-
attack Ukraine last year, right, and we know different industry
-
took a hit as well. You look at South China
-
Sea today. China is testing the boundaries, pushing for South
-
China Sea, making their claim so it's walletown. Anything can happen.
-
The presidential election in US in November is thing to
-
be watching out for because you know, I'm sure it
-
will impact the world one way or another. You basically
-
sends for uncertain. The world that we live in is
-
uncertain as well. With the progress of Jenny I Generative AI,
-
people asking would I lose my job my company replaced me?
-
Where would where would AI bring us to wol we
-
create more jobs, So it things seems a bit uncertain.
-
Things are also getting more complex. Society today tends to
-
be more complex than simple. You have day to day
-
conversations with your colleagues, you have day today conversation with
-
your friends, with your family members, and sometimes the topics
-
tend to be either complex or the way to soft
-
things seems to be complex, but actually it's simple. Press.
-
We have complicated staff for ourselves, A basically sensu ambiguous.
-
The world that we live in is ambiguous. Is no longer, Yeah,
-
it's longer black and white. People tend to be gray,
-
but actually it should be black and white. But people
-
tend to be more ambiguous than ever. Right, So I
-
think about these things. I reflect on all these things.
-
Then I realize that all these things, if we are
-
not careful, it may affect how we perceive life. It
-
may effect how we perceive the future, and our perception
-
often can determine how we feel. Insight the peace Insight.
-
So many years ago, the Lord told me that regardless
-
of who is in power in Malaysia, can you trust
-
that God is still in control. I remember the election
-
night where they couldn't even decide who will be prime minister,
-
and they need to go and see the King. The
-
king need to worrify each mpeace world. Remember those days, man,
-
I was tuning into the news like every second I
-
will refresh my newspatter, and I realized that there's no peace.
-
And a lot says men may place their hope in
-
horses and shareots things that they can see. But we
-
the people of God, will place our trust in the Lord,
-
our God. Even my company, we're going through a form
-
of restructuring, potentially resizing. It's common with new leadership. New
-
leaders will come in to ship, the ship to move
-
in a direction where the leader wants to. It's common here, guys.
-
It's common new leaders, new way of doing things, new
-
strategies and such. That's how your company grow. That's how
-
your company progressed. That's how your company should, you know,
-
wit and move forward. But for small fries like me,
-
usually we take the impact right. So these few weeks
-
has also been very challenging for me because I don't
-
even know whether I have a future in this company.
-
The more I hear, the more disappointment I get, and
-
a lot reminded me again, seek me because he is
-
my piece? Is it? Some of us we find peace
-
in a form of financial security. If we say that
-
if I have X number or fixed deposit in my bank,
-
if I have X number in my bank, then tonight
-
I can sleep well. I have the peace that is
-
only natural. Hey, we need money to go through our life,
-
but money shouldn't be our only dependency. Because if you
-
ask any rich people today, you ask them, can you
-
really sleep well? I think some will tell you that
-
I have a lot of money, but I can't sleep
-
well because a lot of worry, a lot of anxiety.
-
But when you place your security in the Lord, he
-
becomes your peace. He becomes your peace. So for adults,
-
young adults, here go earn all the money you want.
-
Money is a very good servant. Money is also good
-
for ministry, showing the missions and all right, go earn.
-
God has given us a power to make wealth. But
-
don't let money be your God. I always tell people
-
cash is not king. Right. You remember a politician once
-
say cash is king. Right during election time, the world
-
will tell you cash is king. I'm here as a
-
representative of the Church of the Kingdom of God, to
-
tell you that Jesus Christ is king, the Prince of Peace,
-
he is king, he is king. For a students, sometimes
-
we find our peace in our academic achievement. If only
-
I tain certain result, if only I get a scholarship
-
I want, then I will have a form of peace,
-
because then only I will get a good job. Then
-
only with the degree it opened doors for me. It
-
is God who will open the door for you. We
-
must do our part to study, we must do our
-
part to do well, but we must not idolize our achievement.
-
The moment we think that the door is open because
-
of our four point zero, the moment we think that
-
I got this great, fantastic job because of my involvement
-
in university, that is the path to destruction because it
-
speaks about pride. So the Lord holds our future. Maybe
-
there's some parents here who worry about our kids, and
-
we tend to be anxious even about their future, and
-
as a result, we have no peace in our hearts.
-
I can understand any good parent would want the best
-
for their children. But if you're a people of faith,
-
if you say that God is your God, he's also
-
the God of your family, and you've got to release
-
that trust to God to chill out a path for
-
your children, because what God wants and what God can
-
give to your children is far more better than what
-
we You know, sometimes spiritual parents or parents can give
-
to our children. And I wrote this yesterday, serves we
-
want to be in control because control, do you, represents certainty.
-
Control to you represent a form of assurance or peace.
-
I'm here very obediently to the Lord and very humbly
-
to let you know, learn to let go of control.
-
The only reason why you don't have peace this morning,
-
the only reason why you can't even sleep well at night,
-
because consistently you want to be in control. When I
-
say let it go of control, I'm saying, let go
-
of control and allow God to come in. You will
-
have your peace when you do so. So before I
-
leave four steps to consider Philippines four six to seven,
-
Paul wrote this when he was in prison. He was
-
a prisoner when he wrote this the church in Philippie.
-
He said, be anxious for nothing, but in everything by
-
prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving. Let your requests be made
-
known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses
-
all understanding. Will God your hearts and minds thrue Christ Jesus.
-
You think about it, right, Paul being in prison. Usually,
-
if we will do prison ministry, we will go to
-
prison and comfort the prisoner to tell them God has
-
a hope for you. God has a future. Don't worry.
-
This one is the bullet, you know. This is the
-
bullet basically means opposite. The prisoner is encouraging the people
-
outside of prison. You think about it. If you're a prisoner,
-
you should be the one having no peace at all.
-
You should be the one be the most worried at all.
-
And I really like this scripture because he started off
-
with saying be anxious for nothing coming around post Paul prisoner.
-
And this speaks to me that whenever there is an anxiety,
-
it is always about the future. Why are you anxious?
-
Usually it's about the future. You exam next week, the
-
assignment that you are falling behind, the project that is
-
not misting target, but you need to do a reporting
-
next week. There's no solution to this problem is anxiety
-
is always about the future, So be anxious for nothing.
-
I will counter it by saying God holds my future.
-
He holds my future. I will do my part, I'll
-
prepare the report, I will do the assignment. But I
-
will not let this bother me pertaining to my future,
-
because God holds my future. Proverabs twelve twenty five saysnxiety
-
in the heart of man causes depression, but a good
-
word makes it glad. So people who are depressed can't
-
see the future. That's why it's always a cycle of darkness.
-
They would rather sleep, wake up sleep because my dad
-
battled with depression and alcohol was his way out. So
-
I lived with a depressed man. I knew exactly how
-
not very well up kept why you can see a future.
-
But the word of God will always make a heart
-
glad if we were to live, if we were to
-
keep it in our heart. So the end of two
-
anxiety at the end of the day, it is the
-
word of God. Because the Bible is good, It is
-
full of good word. And when you read the Word
-
of God, what it does is that it shift your
-
focus from anxiety to his revelational word. All it takes
-
is one word from God, one word from Jesus to
-
come the sea. All it takes is that one word.
-
Perhaps this morning, as you are looking for a word,
-
I pray you receive the word that will come you
-
down and give you that peace. Second prayer and supplication.
-
This to me speaks only God can answer my prayer.
-
You know, sometimes why we don't have peace because we
-
have been running from people to people hoping that they
-
will be able to help us. Praise God. Some people,
-
when you reach out to them, they will really help you.
-
These are good people and they will help you without expectation.
-
In return. These are very very good people. But you
-
a still need to be understanding that sometimes people can
-
only help you to certain extent. They can help you
-
with things that is outside, things of the heart. They
-
can give you a wid and they can counsel you,
-
but they can only do this much. Only God can
-
answer your prayer. People can answer your prayer. They can
-
help you, but you don't pray to them, do you.
-
Only God can answer your prayer with thanksgiving to me.
-
Gratitude opens the door to peace. If you have ten
-
things that you can complain about of why you don't
-
have peace, or ask that you also develop a list
-
of ten things you can be grateful for. Living a
-
life of gratitude opens the door to God's peace. It
-
helps you to focus. It shifts your focus from worry
-
in self, worrying of what you don't have. When you
-
put on a posture of thanksgiving, you move from worry
-
and you move to a position of worship. There are
-
a lot of things you can be thankful for a lot,
-
but sometimes we don't focus on these things enough. Second last,
-
the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding. I don't
-
know how to describe to you this except to say
-
that you should be feeling worries. Is it grammarchally correct?
-
I don't know, but you should be feeling worried, anxious concern,
-
but you're not. Today. Whatever happens to my company happens.
-
I should be worried, but I'm not. You have a
-
big presentation coming up, you have a big interview coming up.
-
You should be worried, but you're not. Why Because the
-
peace of God, which surpasses oh understanding. You want to
-
man a broken relationship, and you're going to meet an
-
angry person, You're going to meet an angry relative. Probably
-
you're going to meet an angry relative. I don't know.
-
You should be worried, but you're not. Why the peace
-
of God and no doubt told me before he and
-
his colleague went into the boss room. Two of them
-
lost the job because the company needed to restructure. Two
-
of them came out of the room. His friend was
-
looking at him. How come you're not worried?
-
The peace of God, The peace of God.
-
Next God, your hearts and minds, true Christ, Jesus. Our
-
heart is a set of emotions. Whatever you're feeling. You're anxious,
-
you're joyful, you're disappointed, you feel happy. It's your heart.
-
And the Bible always call to God our heart because
-
it is the well springs of life. You've gotta learn
-
to get our heart the seed of emotions. Our mind
-
is the seed of thoughts. Our mind is a very
-
powerful thing. Because I don't know whether mind is an
-
organ or not. Probably the scientist can let me know. Ah, right,
-
mind is a very powerful thing. The Hollywood drama, the
-
Bollywood drama, and the k drama often plays out here.
-
The worst case scenario drama, the fight, freeze or flee
-
drama is always here, very very powerful and if it
-
affects the mind, it will go to the heart. So
-
anything that is false that the mind is playing, we'll
-
be able to generate and emotions to you which actually
-
you are fearing the wrong thing. For example, say that
-
tomorrow I go to exam, I should feel you haven't
-
even started the exam. So powerful the mind is Jennet.
-
Jesus should be seated in our heart and mind. He must,
-
he must, all right, even if really like things go
-
against you, even if things didn't work out in your favor,
-
you must always have Jesus seated in your mind and
-
in your heart. You must the moment he's not seated
-
there the moment. That's a moment you will be robbed
-
off your peace. Amen, So let me read it again. Ex.
-
Extreme Comer Philippines, Chapter four, verse six to seven. Be
-
anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication.
-
Whatever situation you're in, you know you felt that your
-
peace is being robbed from you. Pray, by prayer and
-
supplication with thanksgiving. Let your requests be made known to
-
God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding.
-
Will God your heart and Mind's True Christ Jesus.
