Disciple The Unreached | Dr Daniel Kong

We hope this message will light up your.

Day talking about the unreached. Now, just to give to

the benefit of those who weren't here, I'm just going

to do a quick five minute recap. Okay, I'm going

to use some slight to help me out. I'm going

to go to the stats. There's a I think second

slide Edison can help me that. So we talked about

the unreached, and many look at the word unreached as

those that are lost. I mean to say, those that

do not have Christ in their life, who do not

have Jesus as their personal Lord and savior. But that

is actually not the definition of unreached. Okay, I sort

of cover a little bit about this. There's a whole

entire group called the Joshua Project that looks into the

unreached and how they define the unreaches or how they

classify the unreaches. Actually, when there's two percent within a

particular community, and community is not just countries, it could

be different people groups. Okay, so let's say measure context

of different tribes that we have here in Malaysia. The moment,

the particular tribe or kampung or even village that has

less than two percent of Christians, they are considered unreached. Okay,

so this is how they define it. And you can

see just from a heat map kind of a thing,

there is actually a large majority of unreached globally in Malaysia.

We also zoomed in a little bit. Can you just

show the Malaysia slide. We actually have a very large

percent of unreached in Malaysia. It's about fifty percent that

is actually unreached, and most of them are actually in

the peninsula. Now the reason why, if you remember, if

you can, I remember, we talked about how there's sual

opportunities to reach the unreached. Kind of mouthful, but you know,

because they're actually just in our backyard, we don't really

have to go too far. They are actually here. In fact,

in as I mentioned before, in East Malaysia, there's actually

more reached communities, and of course that number is actually

dwindling a little bit because of different things. Those of

you are actually in the conference, you would have heard

of some of the USHI focus missions that going out there,

and then there's just a lot of side projects that

the other communities are doing to try to bring that

number down. So we really need to pray for our

brothers and sisters across that because they actually represent a number.

If they if they, if you really lose them pretty much,

our numbers will actually skyrocket. And also quickly mention Japan

because we had the missions update, Japan actually has about

ninety over percent ninety seven percent I'm not mistaken of unreached.

So again you think that it's very accessible, but you know,

two percent less than two percent. It's actually categorized as

as a unrico. There's a large population there, so it's

a very rid heat zone in Japan. And that's why

we really believe in focusing on the unreach because if

we are to extend and really practice this whole great

Commission thing, we really need to focus on these a

risks rather than the areas that the gospel or the

good News is accessible. Okay, in China, as I mentioned before,

there is actually a very high percentage of the reach,

So the unreached numbers is actually less than ten percent.

So imagine that you would think that it would number

be higher. But because of the different movements and missions

that has gone in, there is exposure. Now it doesn't

mean that they're converted per se, but there is access

to the gospel. Okay. So now as a recap, we

talked about it's about three point two billion people in

that I called the rid people because it's the red zone. Okay,

it's easy to say unreached. Okay, So there's three point

two billion of this rid people, and we in that

message which I shared two weeks ago, we also debunked

a little bit about how there is this perhaps a

perception that if you do not hear the gospel they

are spared from eternal death. But no, even if you

do not hear the gospel, they are not spared. Right.

In fact, because we've talked a bit about it, everybody

is a sinner, right regardless of what they've heard the

gospel not. That's why it's our duty to ensure that

the gospel goes out so that they can be saved.

And we talked about you know how that could be done.

You know, that's not there's an urgency in actually getting

the gospel, and it's our duty to share the good

news so that they will be saved. Otherwise, what we

sang earlier, Hell has lost another one every day. Everybody

dies again. A lot of people die, correct, and not

everybody dies. A lot of people die every single day.

And if they do not hear the gospel, there's actually

a lot of deaths, eternal deaths that I'm talking about

that they do not go. So actually Heaven loses another

one really instead of Hell loses another one if you

do not do this. And I have another slide there

that has the arrows. I uh, that's that's errow yep.

So we talked about how it could be done. So

if you want to hear a bit more about it,

go and catch the message to go. But the just

to summarize everything is on either God's court or the

people's court. But our proportion is just here step number two.

And sometimes when we do not do that, we drop

the ball. And therefore the gospel can be shared and

it won't be hurt. Okay. And therefore I don't know

why God gets involves us to an extent, but we

are to take this very seriously, okay, And that's what

the gist of the message is all about. So the

role of believers and how we are really commissioned to

reach all the nations and just to clarify nations is

not the nations as we understand it, like the different countries,

et cetera. But it's really people group. That's how we

define nations. Okay, So that's just a short five minute summary.

Catch the MPG if you want to go deeper. But

today I'm going to go a bit deeper in building

on what we've established two weeks ago. Are okay? All right,

let's pray, Father God. We want to thank you. Lord.

We declared earlier that Father, you are a god of

the city and the city. I know it's not just

literally the city that we live in, but really it

is over all people groups, all nations. So Father, as

we declared great it is to come, we really want

to believe in that, and we really want to, you know,

take this to heart. So open our hearts today, Lord,

as you continue to just you know, show us a

glimpse of what you have in store for us, because

your heart is really for the people. You yourself have come

down from heaven, the very first missionary really to come

down to save the loss. So we as follows a Christ, Lord,

we are to follow your footsteps. So open our hearts today, Lord,

and just let me pray. Amen. Now I was start

of this slide, and it can be a little bit provoking.

The unreached Okay, many people think that the unreached is

a problem where missions is not so successful. Okay, so

they call it a missions problem. Okay, but actually it's

more of a discipleship problem. Let me explain, because we

know that there are lots of missionaries out there in general, okay,

but there are not enough followers of Christ. Let me

define what followers of Christ is. Okay. Now, Christians that

are following Christ, and you know, following Christ, we are

to disciple, not just disciple at this but disciple what

we sung earlier. Disciple those that are because of all tongue,

all nations, right, So really it is not just the

people that we are close to that is also important,

don't get me wrong, but also those that do not

have access to it. So until everybody hears of the

good news. So one of the challenges that I've shed

before is that this is almost harder to get when

we are all not on board to the next time.

So that's why it's really not so much about the

missions per se. We do send a lot of when

I say we collectively, the Christians all around the globe

do send a lot of missionaries out there, in fact,

you know, hundreds of thousands, but the millions and millions

of followers are not really sent out to accept all.

They're not stepped out in another way to put it, okay,

if they if everybody jumps on board, right, we know

that this target, even though it's a very difficlt target,

the trip onto billion target is quite hard to hit,

it will be closer. One step goes a no pun

intended right because everybody is on board in the program.

And we know this right with any organization, as I

shared before, when we know of something that we have

to hit, or everybody up gets a pep talk, understands

the bigger target, and then everybody do their own thing

and then the company would be attain or achieve that

particular target. And that's what trickles down in different small teams.

But is the church really doing what they're called to do?

And that's the main problem here, and it's really what

I call a discipleship problem because we're not really discipling

people like what we're supposed to disciple. Okay, and again

not knocking about the general discipleship and how church works,

but we are not extending it beyond within the church community.

And this is what I'm talking about. Okay. Now, Now,

if you're a follower of Price, as I mentioned, you

should be a disciples, disciple, maker of all nations. So

what is a disciple? You are too? Disciple or mentor

or in this case share with other people? Okay, and

until when, until everybody hears about it? Okay. So I

just remembered that Joe, you're sharing about how you're watching

Banner Brothers right now, and it's a it's a good thing.

I love to watch it VeryE hundred times. I got

a blu ray as well. But yeah, when you watch

the Banner Brothers, you know there were some stages in

the show where they talk about how they did some training,

right the people that Okay, this this is a World

War two era where they focus on a company of

soldiers a platoon or a squad, uh, and then they

train together before they get sent out to battle. Okay,

So the first few uh, it's a mini series, So

the first few episodes is really about them training in

their home ground, some in the US, uh and everything.

They don't fully understand their training, as with all of us,

until we go out there, even like driving and all that,

we don't understand why we're doing this, but when we

go out there, we suddenly everything just clicked, everything gets applied.

Sometimes you just have to do it the quicker to survive, right,

And this is the exactly same thing when it's when

the soldiers actually were deployed out there in the real

missions field, they suddenly suddenly everything everything that they've learned

made sense. Okay, suddenly everything that they're trained for made sense.

But if they were to train and fight locally, it

wouldn't also be in fact, because what they would trained

was supposed to be done outside of their comfort zone.

And this is exactly how sometimes we are to also

understand that this is exactly what discipleship is all about.

It's not just to disciple the people that you rather

within your home ground, is really also discipleship outside your

home ground. Just like how this band of brother's story

is supposed to go out and fight or rather win

in foreign lands in the nations. Okay, I don't know

as good an energy, but okay, it doesn't matter. Okay,

Now let's look at what Jesus has to say. Okay,

straight of Jesus' mouth. Okay, of course we know of

this from Matthew twenty eight the Great Commission and tells

us again all authority in heaven and on Earth has

been given to me. Therefore go make disciples off all nations,

and as I mentioned earlier, nations, it's not countries. It's

all people groups. Or replace it with whatever people group

that you are aware or you may not be all

aware of as well. But the key word here is

all in malays some more right, everything everything? Okay, So

all nations, all ethnic groups, all people group, all tribes,

all languages, all How many people groups do you think

there are exists in the world? Thousands? Even in Malaysia itself.

There's probably quite a fabit, right the Josh Project. Just

google it, look through it. I was so stunned to

see how many people groups are represented in Malaysia. Go

and have a look at it. It's actually quite mind boggling.

People group they say, there's some stats here. They estimate

about sixteen thousand people groups in the world. Okay, So

how do you hit all? I don't know if you

don't do our part. Okay, it's quite and it's a

very it's not a general command it's a very specific command.

If you look at it, sometimes you really everything all

means you cover everybody. We think of it from a

very quantitative perspective, it means the number of people get

here's the news, and that's it. But this is not

just quantitative. It's so qualitative. I mean you say, it's

very specific to different places, to different peoples around the world.

Just some other scriptures to back this up as well,

Mark sixteen fifteen. These words echote similar similar vein is

what we've read in Meti Trainean as well. It says,

go into the world and preach the Gospel to all creation,

against all creation, every creation. And of course this is

mainly focused on human Homo sapiens, but it could also

be if you're ticket figuratively speaking, it's also everything all

even animals. Okay. Well, of course no, you talk about

a most depends here, but all creation okay. And they

talk about the baptizing as well. Okay, Now jump to

Luke twenty four. You see here he says the Messiah sorry,

he opened up their minds so that they understand the scriptures.

He told them this was written. The Messiah will suffer

and rise from that they're talking about the resurrection, okay,

and repentance for forgives of sins will be preached in

his name to all nations beginning from Jerusalem. Okay. So

you see this the essence of the Gospel or the

good News is really talking about proclaiming to everyone, every

people group. As I mentioned earlier, it's qualitative, okay. So

that's the bigger picture. And sometimes we even within church

context or even within how we challenge different mind or

perspective in this, we almost talk about the quantitative amount

rather than the qualitative, okay, And maybe that's why, uh

we have not hit the target or we miss the mark. Okay,

Now let's unpack a bit further. You know, the in Acts,

the Book of Acts, that is not not the Church Acts.

Welcome to x church. But yeah, you know, Luke talks

about this whole thing about you know, Jesus and his

disciples and how uh they witness power. Right, So I've

got X one over there. You will receive power when

the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be

in you mean, my witness in Jerusalem, in all Judaea

and Samaria and to the ends of the earth. Again,

it just simply means everybody hears, everybody who knows. Geographically

speaking as well, it goes everywhere. Just to highlight a

little bit, there are some key key points. No, sorry,

is one aid sorry? X one eight? One before one?

I don't have is it? I'm sorry? Uh? I thought

I have it there, it's okay, turn the Bible okay

X one eight Okay, I think it's one before the

one I put up. If I don't have it, I'm

so sorry. Yeah, that's the one. You will receive power

when the Holy Spirit comes to you so that you

can witness. So this talks about witnessing as well. That's

plain English sharing of the good News until all Judaea, Samaria,

all places, including till the ends of the earth. Okay.

So uh and and it goes further. The story goes

further if we look through the first seven chapters of X. Okay,

it talks about how you know, it started off a

bit more bit where Stephen was stone, and then after

that it talks about scattering of disciples. You know, we

usually use the word scattering, right, like how we scatter

small objects or jecks of a lot of volume like seats,

this scattering of people, so like you know, everywhere, So

why coverage very practical. Okay, if you read X eight

one to four, it's just a great time, A great

persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem. They

were all scattered throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria

except the apostles. And then the development carried out Stephens

is the one that he can have stolen everyday. So

they lamented a bit, but this's just moved down to

verse four. Those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. Okay,

and just in case you think it's only for a

select few, no, this is talking about everybody. Everybody is

you go here, you go there, you go there, you

go there. Everybody's involved. And that's how the church in

XTS created. It's not just like, oh how sometimes you

missions team number one or goes here, it goes there.

It's only a minority. This talking about the whole church

being deployed, being scattered. So the word scattered is actually

very Yeah, I think it's a very app word. Here

goes everywhere. Why because when the cover, when the cover

all right, again, not just special com missionaries, every day Christians,

every day believers, common Joe's as sometime as we call it, right,

you and me. I'm not hoping nobody's Joe here, but

everybody is involved. Right, that's the program, it's for everyone.

Let's read x eleven nineteen today messages to very simple

by the way, it's just a fallout from the message.

Uh that shad earlier. But I wanted you to understand

the heart of discipleship. Okay. Now x eleven nineteen. Here

it says those who were scattered, all right, this is

a for using a bit more on Barnabas and Salt

and Antioch. Okay, but we'll talk about this. And while

those who were scattered after persecusion that arose over Stephen

traveled as far as uh Fenia, Phoenicia, sorry, Cyprus, and Antioch,

preaching the word to no one but only Jews. So

at that time it's only specific to a special people group,

all right, it's only to Jews. But uh. And then

some of the men when we're from Cyprus, from Serene, okay,

who then had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists.

Now Helenists is uh. It's people that embrace the Greek culture. Okay.

They are not necessarily Greeks by blood, but they could

also be Jews that embraced the Greek culture. They mean,

say lift like Greeks. Okay, so that's what they are. Okay.

So again this simply points that everybody's covered. It means

not just everybody has to go everyone has to go out.

It's also for everyone, not just the Jews. In that

same few lines. Okay. So this is the key thing

and what we're doing again preaching the good news, talking

about the good news, because like two weeks ago we

said the only way is to Jesus, one way Jesus.

That song is kicking in even down that time. Okay.

So it's really beyond the Jewish people. It is for everyone,

so that they can believe and they can turn to

the Lord. And that's how we have to preach it. Okay,

So by everyone. I don't have this in the slide,

but by everyone, bracket Christians for everyone, bracket, every people, group, tribe,

et cetera, et cetera. Okay, all right, let's move on.

So what happened in Antioch? I have the thirteen next extirteen, sorry,

next thirteen, it's not in order, all right, now, in

the church that was an antiong Some things that in

the church. This is the church in Antioch. I have

some slights later on with some of the visuals of

maps and all that in a bit, so just bear

me for now. Okay. There were certain prophets teachers that Barnabas,

the Simeon, who was also called I don't want to

say this word. Sometimes it may come off a bit incorrect.

Lucius of syren A Serene Mannion and who had been

brought up with herod Uh and Saul. Okay, as they

minister to the Lord and fasted the Hostpery said, now

separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which

I have been called were street then, having fasted and prayed,

laid hands on them. These are the general people, late

hands on them, on them, and then they were sent out.

So some people were sent out specifically, but everybody was

involved in the church. If you didn't get the contacts again,

uh and again, the whole church was involved in this

whole thing, not just the people that were sent out.

And so sometimes when we sent your informasions, so we

we partner with them either true finances, prayer, and of

course sometimes we also send different groups out as well. Okay,

And the are like the different teams that have gone out. Okay,

so it's similar then similar now as well, and how

we operate okay, uh, and and verse fours preaching in Syrius.

So they were being sent out by who, not just

the church, but also by the Holy Spirit. So God

has sent them out. This is the calling part of things.

You're called to go out, Okay. And then uh, they

preach the word of God. That's the main just okay. Uh.

And then of course they moved right. And then there

are other people involved. Were John was involved as well,

et cetera, et cetera. Okay, so key thing here, everyone

was involved, Okay, but some people went out. Now let's

look at some maps. The first map okay, okay, too small,

but now mine okay, my my fault. This is Paul's

first journey. Saw Paul, same guy. By the way, if

you don't know who they are, they left Antioch, and

Theo is somewhere here. Okay, Jerusalem is down here and

Cheo is somewhere here. Now, if you can follow the trail,

the trail that the arrows in in in in Rid,

that is their their their pathway, their journey Okay, to

on missions. Okay, So what they do is they move

from U where's that yep? From from from from from

the very start, they went to Cypruska the island over

there for those of you visit Cypress amazing, yeah text

tex Haven anyway, Yeah, they went there. They proclaimed the word,

they shared, they make disciples. Uh. They also formed churches

they got together, right uh. And then fan fact as

well during the time, Saul became Paul Paul I mean,

same guy, but name change kind of thing. And then

eventually move up north, Okay, to this place up there

called Antioch as well, but it's a different Antioch. Okay,

it's called Pisidian Antioch. Confusing, but it's a different place Okay,

up north. And then later they went to different cities

and then you can see that they they eventually so sorry,

Laser Pointer eventually come down here and then they backtrack

the Blue Arrows. Okay. So that was their journey, their

very first mission shrip. And again it takes for me years,

it's not just like days, okay. And this is their

first mission strip. When they came back, we went. We

will move on to XT chapter fourteen, okay, where it

talks about coming back to share to encourage the church

back home. And then also there's the gathering of the

council in Jerusalem, so again Juisalm is further down south.

So they actually came down and and and and talked

about the you know, the council. The council is determining,

you know, whether this is open for all, whether it's

only for the Jews, whether it's open to all. No,

they said, okay, it's actually open to all, including the Gentiles.

So then they went back up and begin their second journey. Okay.

Now in the second journey, uh, they actually had split

in terms of the different ones that were sent out. Okay,

so missions team may be not so successful. Has some argument. Uh,

the main gist of his Barnabas wanted to take somebody else,

which uh Paul didn't agree with. So Paul went off

on his own with Silas. He took Timothy along as well. Uh.

And then he went to the same places as he

went before. Okay, So second roadmap, after returning from Jerusalem,

he they went if you see, they ended up here

last time, and then they backtracked, but now they went

further Okay, So second mission shot, they went further to

where two places they've never been before, right, why they're

just doing the discipleship thing essentially, two places that the

Gospel has not hurt. Mkay. And then what were you doing?

Same thing, making disciples, planting churches, encouraging the church. And

then they eventually made their way back to Jerusalem. Round two, Okay,

third journey, same thing. Ah started entering again, went up

there and then when uh, where was this emphasis here?

They went all the way. They went all to the

krinth new ground. Corinth is you know the Book of Corinthians,

that's the Corinth Uh. And then he stopped there for

a while. What do you do after that? He wrote

some letters not Corinthians. He was writing letters to fun

fact Romans, right, the one that we talked about two

weeks ago. Romans. That was when he was writing those letters. Okay,

now what was he doing he was at the time,

remember Kurin. They got some resources and then they went

back to back to home base. You know, they were poor,

but they still gave. And then they went back to

support the church, back home to beg Antioch. But in

the process he was stuck there for a while. He

wrote some letters. Uh, and then he he was he

was actually talking about wanting to go to Rome. Okay,

the Romans. That's why it's called Romans, the Book of Romans. Okay.

Now he's not in Rome yet, he's still stuck in

kurn Okay. But he talked about Rome and Rome by

the way, Rome has been reached. It missed the Gospels

already there. So why we talk to Rome when the

Gospels already there? That's the question here. He actually let

me just read the scripture firs again. Let's go to

Romans fifteen. This is the one it talks about. Okay,

So fifteen over here, verse nineteen, he says, I have

fully reached the Gospel of Christ. This is after where

he is in courn Okay. And so I've made my

aim to preach the Gospel, not where Christ was named.

So again stating his reasoning what he's trying to do,

he wants to reach places that Christ was not named, Okay,

to whom he was not announced. Okay. And he talks

about his plan to visit Rome. That title headed over

there actually comes from the Bible, So he really has

plans to visit Rome. But it is now no longer

having a place in some transition to use the word

for work in these parts. Okay, but he wanted to

go there simply because it is a way to go

to Spain, and Spain is where the gospel has not

heard or not people are not reached it. Okay, So

next line, I promise you after this as normal slides

on on maps, it's not a geography lesson. But yeah,

then they went back remember the after after the sorry

one slight before the old map, after Corinth Okay, after

writing in Corinth, they backtracked all the way back to

home base again and dum report and then the next

uh the journey they actually came back and then went

to Rome okay after sending the letter in when he

was in Kuran okay. And Spain is further the direction,

so it's almost like a gateway to to the unreached. Okay,

Now why do you think this is what they're doing?

What if you've done missions right? Some of us we

do want mission super out team done, checkbox done, tired.

You know this guy just keeps some going and going

and going and going and going. Right, don't you mean inspired? Right?

I have this illustration that I want to use here.

You know how fire right? What does fire do? It?

It cinges it it burns it. But what happens when

you just leave a fire on its own, you don't

allow it to grow, It would just eventually diminish because

you need fuel. Fuel is not necessarily the patrol and

all that kind of feel. Anything that burns is called feel.

I had a PhD In fire engineering to do that.

But you need something to consume feel, and then you'll

continue to burn. Right. So yeah, this thing about fire

is that you really need to continue to provide, in

this case, in this context, more new ground, so fire

can continue to go and burn and burn. And he's

literally on fire. He's going, he's going, he's going. He's

going any chance he can, he'll go. Why because he

has a heart. He understood what we talked about two

years ago. He understand people are dying. He understand people

are suffering. And if a community, let's say, let's use

the word loosely, a church loses, is fire or loses

it's a purpose. You'll just burn within our four walls

and that's it. Nothing gets done beyond that. And that's

something that we they understand the Book of Acts how

important it is. Uh, And it will eventually go out

because you know, we can't keep on going like this.

Sometimes the danger is our I mean not our church,

but church in general. We can be sometimes to focus

on just within our four walls. We become more focused

on preservation, on how we want to do certain things,

and again not specific to any church, just in general.

I think it's okay to say in general, that's what

we do, okay, and then we do not focus on

the transformation of things, and the danger of that is

that we will build monuments. Now, okay, I've got to

a quote from pasacanev Once like after this twenty ten,

use this expression. If you do not build a movement right,

then you'll be stuck, and then you can be focused

on building the monument. Right. Movement is like this, you

know whatever pall, there is also a movement you know, right,

it takes literally takes effort to go and back. Then

now there's no air asia, there's no trains. You know,

it's probably all like the Donkey's equivalent or whatever, if

not meaning on foot, but they win. These days, we

probably will look at these factors to say a hadler

mhm have to get up if sometimes even those kinds

of reasons, right, but this guy understood moving because they

know he understands that if the moment he stops the

fire diminishes, the fire diminishes. Okay, and again, uh pastor

back then talk about ends, you know, growing small. So

again hit more areas, same, same same principle, right you

really everybody involved. You can't just send the big guns.

Literally everybody is getting involved. And then we talked about

back then, you know, seeking the laws, strengthening, sending people out,

and also supporting. And that's why we are also very

big in having different church plants outside of these four

worlds as best we can. You know, it's sometimes it's

not even sensible, but you know, we we you know,

you have to understand the bigger brief. Okay. And then

I've shared this slide from before. I'm using the same

slight revelation. Okay, this was in my last message. Eventually,

all we have to do the endgame is here where

everybody who hears the gospel will either receive or don't receive.

But there is a guarantee that every nation, tribe, people

and language would definitely hear of it, and some, like

I said, will receive and some won't. But our duty

is not to uh focus on the outcome per se.

Of course it ut coomes important, but it shouldn't deter

us from getting the word out. Okay, that's the main

thing here. But it's guarantee here that everybody will hear.

So how is this possible? Again? Everybody needs to embrace

the discipuship on another level. It's not just for the

select field. So as a summary, good timer, right, Next, like,

how do you complete the mission? If you're into gaming

a mission impossible kind of thing, I mean, target line

all those gamers here. You understand what's second, but you

need to understand what you're supposed to do. You do

wrong things, you know the enemies that you face there,

obviously you will not You're not succeed right, It is

really true discipleship. So what really needs to change is

really firstly, understand the perspective, understand the bigger picture, Understand

what you can do and what you need to do.

And it really is about not just disciple ship making,

but really it is disciple making for the nations at large,

and everybody has to be on board. Like I said,

the beauty of Malaysia, right is that the unreaches here.

You don't go very far. Okay, so before you go

talk about the other nations. Of course, those that can fantastic,

go for it. But I think you know, God has

really blessed us with a missions here that's very close

to us. And of course we can also mention maybe

some of the different siblings that we have, uh you

know that that may not have the opportunity to hear. Okay,

now so we we we The call is really for

all Christians. As I mentioned to you earlier, so we

cannot stop. We didn't catch that. We cannot stop. The

moment you stop, you lose passion, you lose fire, you

lose it. You talk to anybody that goes on missions, right,

they want to go again. In fact, our recent missions

trip missions team that went on, they already self put

up their hands to say I want to go again? Why?

Because of that fire? It is contagious fire is you know,

you have to consume, you have to look, feel to

burn further. And sometimes it's the hardest to get the

first spart going right. You really need to understand how

until all places are hit. Okay, So really it's not

a program. If you didn't get it's not a program

for the few. For maybe leaders only or maybe those

can speak a certain language. No, it's for all we

can learn. Hey, uh I have we have as a

family gone to missions to places where language was a

barrier and kids was a barrier. For example, we had

I think our first missions to the us Lee community

that we had a six month old, right, I think

about about the age yeah, six month old okay. And

this further just came out from Australia. So you asked, Esla,

I can't even tell the God that need to go

and pick up somebody in the in the in the

in the lobby area. I struggle with basa. But you know,

learn how to pray in basa, learn how to speak

in basa, how to singing basa as well. I mean

not to say that that you just it's it's going

to be messy. You learn on the job, but just

go for it because it's for all, not just for

the select field. Now, just to summarize everything that the

practical steps are what needs to happen for missions to work.

First eds to go. And I want to quickly mention

to you, it's not up in program. You're already in

the program. So if you op out, you're missing on

this one thing. But of course the greater plan will

not work. Okay, some people think I up in to missions.

No you're not. It's again just to go back Mark

sixteen one more time. Next light, go into all the world,

push the gospel to all creations. Does it say ah,

only you know past the kind of goal? No, it

says everybody, right, everybody needs to go. This is for everyone.

This is final words. Right, so everybody is on board.

He needs to be on board, right and now, So

why is it difficult to go? Maybe it's practical reasons, right,

I say, time, finances, distractions, whatever you know. Or maybe

maybe you don't like the people. Elder Rose spoke a

very hard hitting message last week talking about how uh,

how uh it's not a joke Jonah, correct, Yeah, I

think real real guy Jonah. They didn't want to go. Uh,

they don't want to go and and follow and obey

just because he didn't quite like the people. In short,

So the question is if you do not go, is

it because you don't like the people? But God loves everybody, right, everybody.

I know some people are easier to love, but it

come to that in a bit of right. So you

really need to engage the young church, the those that

are in the in the rids, because that is what

we're caught to do. We're caught to be followers of Jesus.

What is following Jesus literally doing what he did? Right?

What he did he do? He was forefront in this

whole missions thing. He is the fishes of men, right.

But now I think, like I said, back into a

whole Christian bubble, sometimes we are instead of being fishers

of men, we are more focused on building our aquariums

or tanks within the four walls. We are distracted, Oh

how come this thing? It's not like how it can be?

I think this can be done this way. Again, It's

just like that's a there's a term, right, what escaping

the aquarium? The tank? Are cost scaping? That's right? Yeah?

Are we are coross scapers? Scary right, because that's not

what we're called to do. We are called to make

disciples fishes of men, not fishes within your small tank.

And sometimes also we see, like you know, we get

upset about people moving from tank to tank. You know,

different fish that's already okay, really you just moved to

a night tank and then you get upset about that again, Dude,

I think we need to focus on those that the

fishes outside the tank any time for that matter. Right,

let's not focus on the small okay, the small stuff.

So again just the heat really is the danger of

inward looking uh. And again everybody is uh can be

guilty about that, even sometimes leaders as well. Sometimes when

we say we want to we are challenged by upper

management to go and challenge our people. Sometimes we're like, hey, Lah,

cannot la you challenge her? They cannot take it? Kind

of think, but what are we encouraging here? We are

encouraging almost like the lifestyle of consumerism within the church.

We don't need it anymore, right because we are already

having a lot of consumerism out there. The world is

very consumer based. But why are we promoting that within

the church. That's the scary part here. So let's really

focus on being real disciples here, and what Redisciples really

are all about is really reaching new disciples that are

not within the system or within the tank. Okay, let's

not lose focus, and that's what we can really do

to advance the kingdom. I've got this very uh more

bid example I share with Jess to check her, but

he said, maybe not. I'll share it anyway, I think

I think it's a good example. You know, the scripture

talks about go into the world and proclaim the gospel. Right.

Fun fact, that is article over here eleven of the

most unfortunate, ironic deaths in the human history. One of

the stories is about how this is nineteen eighty five. Okay,

you can look it up if you want. Nineteen eighty

five there was a band of life savers, okay, coming

together to celebrate x amount of days or a whole

season of no incident, no drownings like in short, they

were celebrating the pool. There were two hundred of our

life guards, over one hundred of lifeuds over there, and

then there were total people over there. Everybody was having

a good time. And then at the end of the day,

when everybody was going home, they found somebody who drowned

in that party itself. I mean, sad, sad story, true story,

sad story. There were also four live guards on duty

that day as the party was going. Okay, so does

it sound familiar? And sometimes even within the church we

celebrate certain successes that we forget that every day something

like this could have somebody could die. As I mentioned earlier,

three point two billion opportunities or rather missed opportunities if

you do not focus on them. And sometimes we celebrate

the small but the bigger picture people are drowning as

we speak in short, so we need to keep focused.

So first first point, really you have to go, no

other way go. Nowadays you can digitally go if you

cannot go physically. Okay, there are ways to go, but

you need to go. And that's the first form of obedience. Okay.

Second point, I'm going to got three points, then you're

with that. Okay. Second point is obedience. But this obedience

is not the obey to go that is given when

you have to go anyway. This is obeying h in

in in partnership with the spirit. Okay. We did say

earlier that the Spirit with you, you'll get equipped and

then you'll go. But sometimes have you ever this nudge

to talk to somebody, But then you feel like, okay,

I better not that I'm worried about the outcome, or

I'm worried about maybe being very awkward. And so sometimes

the outcome or the predicted outcome may be the actual

barrier to obedience to the Holy Spirit. Too much is

it to be a mouthful. Okay, I mean to say,

you're afraid, and therefore it hinders you from obeying the spirit.

You may walk away, or you have that nudging, you know,

talk to that guy, Pray for that guy. Maybe not you.

What's understand, I'm a I'm an introvert by nature. By

the way, I always say that I'm an introvert in

personality wise, that introvert, but I'm an extrovert as to survive.

It means I'm forced to forced to be an extrovert

to survive. He asks my wife. She'll attest to that.

Any big group parties, she'll be very revived. I'm like, yeah,

but I must. Yeah anyway, talk about character here. So

it's very natural for me to also sometimes do not

obey because I'm afraid of what I have to say

to somebody. But over the years, I've also learned I

analyze people because introants tend to observe longer before you

say something. Right, yeah, anyway, I can't remember when we

say anyway, just be natural, don't be afraid. God put

something in you. God will equip you. Trust the spirit,

don't worry about the outcome. Just go because like I said,

all we have to do is really just to share, right,

just to say, now romans are it here says says here.

But if Christ is in you, then even though your

body is subject to death because of sin, the spirit

gives life because of righteousness. Eleven. And if the spirit

of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living

in you, he has raised us from the dead. We

also give you life to your mortal bodies because of

His spirit who lives in you. Talking about the spirit,

uh that empowers you. Therefore, brans and sisters, we have

an obligation. Obligation means have to lah yeah it survivor okay,

but it is not the flesh, but to live according

to it. Okay. Now what does it mean is that

you are to live according to the spirit. In short. Now,

sometimes we feel it's what we have to say. It's

actually not living righteous or living through the spirit is

probably more important than what you say. All the introvits say, amen, yeah, yeah,

I am not man of many words like usually I'm

just a doer kind of person. But you know, anyway

Philippines two twelve to thirteen, extravid. Yeah, anyway, God who

works in you to will and to act in order

to fulfill his group of person It's his promise. God

will enable you, God will work true you. So the

key thing you hear from these two verses, sorry, is

really just let Christ live in you and allow Christ.

Allow yourself to live true Christ, as in live your

life true Christ. Okay, And this is what really means

because it's not just what we say, it's also how

we practice us and how we carry ourselves. Beyond the Sunday,

I am like this. I mean Mondays to Saturdays as well.

I like this, And one of the things I always

share people, one of the biggest burdens for me is

always to maintain this righteous righteousness as best I can.

We're all sinness, we're all fallen people, but I have

to make it a point to do my best because

you know, people not I way read the Bible, but

people will read you. You are the walking Bible, so

to speaker, And that's what it really means to live

in the spirit. So when you live your Christian life seriously,

people also think it seriously. Right, And that is really

what it really takes. What it means to live in obedience, right,

It's not just for showre and beyond the wisdom beyond

the practical tips of how to practice this and all that.

Getting the boldness, you really have to depend heavily on

the power of the Holy Spirit. Right, So therefore, you know,

even jesus disciples, the ones that were closest to him,

they heard his his, his, they gleaned from him. They

in there for three years. They still couldn't They acted

like cowards pretty much when things go south. Right, they

denied Jesus et cetera, et cetera. But what happens in

acts they could do what they do because they were

empowered by the Spirit. So really tap on this obey,

but not just blind obedience, but obey with the help

of the Spirit. Okay, And that's really what it's all about.

And if you do not know what I'm talking about,

if you don't have the the you know, they're not

blessed by, you know, having the gift of the spirit.

Maybe if you're timely that we can pray for that

as well. But really obedience is key. But obedience to

really just leaving it to the spirit and not worrying

about the outcome. Per see last point. I guarantee you

I'm going to finish now. Last point love very simple.

Even Hollywood will know, right, the greatest of these is

love quota from the Bible as well those movies and

all that. Yeah, and this importance of this, let me

explain the second line there. It is the Holy Spirit's

role to convict. Your role is just to love people.

That's what the dicip push it is all about. Really,

the harder to love somebody, the the more important the

disciplesh it has to happen. Okay, my thing is tilting

that direction and I cannot put it up. Thanks, all right,

all right? Cool? So Romans too, it says here you

therefore have no excuses who pass judgment on people and

someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you

are condemning yourself because you, who do not pass judgment

do the same things. Hypocrite latto. Okay, Now we know

that God's judgment against those who do such things is

based on truth. So when you, a mere human being,

pass judgment on them and yet do the same things,

do you think you will escape God's judgment? Very strong

wordsir Wor's four Or do you show contempt for the

riches of His kindness, forbearance patience? Not realizing that God's

kindness is intended to lead you to repentance. So keyword

here is really for people to actually accept Christ or

know God or love God is actually to help them.

It's for you to love them first so they recognize

the love of God. Therefore they would be on the

road to repentance or redemption. So again, I know it's

a very simple thing but also a very difficult thing

to love people. But it's key for this to work. Again,

it's not just the theological part about how to love

and all that. You need to show love in action

as well. Right, you need to make it work. I

have recently watched a video on YouTube about how different

ones debate about Christians and how they are hypocrites. And

usually it's like this, right, anybody who do not believe

in critis say, how can you say these things? And

yet you want to and I don't see you. You

are you're judging people, et cetera, et cetera. So sometimes right,

we become very defensive or you know, no, we're not

like that. You know, I we stand for this. It's

on near certain people group that is like this shouldn't

be doing that. Firstly, admit they were awesomeness everything calms down,

and sometimes you're very quick to say things because it's

in it in us right to be defensive. Don't have to.

I'm sorry, I'm sorry if I'm wrong. Sorry, my brother

is wrong. You. God loves you, I love you. Let's

make this work, okay, And that's usually the first step.

And really it's the Holy spirit job to convict. Our

role is just to love. Easiest it than done, I know.

But this is where instead of saying something negative about

somebody or judging, making judgment at somebody, I think we

should focus on the matter that when we judge people right,

we actually review our heart more than God's heart, and

we're giving. That's why it was giving the wrong impression

of what God, Ah, God's love for people is because

of the way we judge. So hole all the bit

longer before you say anything, probably in this way to

put it. And what I mean by this is that

sometimes you should care maybe less about their opinions, okay,

about maybe even their sexual orientation, about their sentiments about

certain things. I know it's hard, we don't condone, but

maybe you should focus less on the on the opinion itself,

focusing on the person rather than the subject. Matter. It's

not to win the debate. You know, we go all like, ah,

you know, I think it's not It's not debate again,

it's the Holy spirit. You just love, just love them.

When you love people, you break down walls. You know,

we were loved by God. Right, I can't understand you

experience it. You understand that first love, right, your committed

that love to people, and that's what we are going

to do again. Loving people, easy people is the easy part.

It's sometimes living the not so ideal people, which is

a challenging part. It expracticed a solar right, But understand

that this is how we can really set set captives

free because they are just bound. They don't realize it.

And them and even they sin, they sia and the

hiding right, what God did came and love them back again.

So really love is the key. I'm really done here,

so I'm gonna wind down to a close ready, so

you can can can start to begin to come up.

But really, how how do we oriented us? So? How

do we see ourselves? How do you see this working?

You know we can hear about the different needs and

all that, but I think we are to really focus

really in the bigger picture God, even Paul, right, he's

looking at things in a very big picture thing. You know,

it's almost likened to how God will look at look

at things. Sometimes when we see disasters happen, right, we

have a limited resource to send a team out, you know,

the disaster team right will always focus on the immediate

need first, and when they fix something, they move on

to the next. They move on to the next anymore next.

They will not let fully fix something and devote all

their resources because that's not the strategic way to do it.

And this is exactly what Paul did as well. He

moved on, Hey, you think antiding problems are a lot

of problems. I know, they stay issues, you know, and

sometimes the shues. How Come you're not worried about the

problems that I'm facing. How Come you're focused on other people?

And again, this is the part where I think we've

lost the plot here, because that's not really making disciples

of all nations. So really, I think it's just a

reminder of how God sees the bigger picture. Because why

three point two billion people are doomed to die if

you do not catch this heart of God. Right, So

let's focus less on even when we pray, we need

to pray more specifically, we need to really look beyond

our aquarium, so to speak. Okay, so let's just start

praying right, pray and give to the nations. I think

even the Lord's prayer. You know, we have this our

Father who art in heaven. Hello be your name. Hello

be your Name's not just within your contextals. Hello be

your name in all the nations. That's how we are

to pray. That's how God will reveal to you how

you can be effective in your missions field. And again,

as we sheard earlier, lots of opportunities, how we are

to do it. Really it's just a their first step

out right. Again, I'm not saying that you shouldn't make

disciples in the here, but we should also do the

here and the there as well, if that makes any sense.

Because it's not just within people that is close to us.

I think we need to look beyond that. So every

now and then just pray. God always calls. Sometimes it's

us who may not be quick to respond, and that

becomes a problem.
