You're listening to a message to go from acts church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
I'm just gonna go straight into the word, and I
-
pray that this word will encourage you.
-
And you're writing notes.
-
The title of the word is don't carry your baggages
-
to twenty twenty five? Okay, And if you're a bit
-
more spiritual, you can write there are we resting in
-
Jesus Christ?
-
Okay. So it's eighth of December.
-
Okay, that's like another three more weeks to the new
-
year twenty twenty five. How are you guys doing so far? Okay, Okay,
-
I'm not sure.
-
Some worried well less than one month to go.
-
You know, every time you start a new year, right,
-
they will always say like, oh, you know what your
-
new year resolution?
-
What do you want to achieve? You know, what's your
-
new goals? You know?
-
And then you reflect on last year and you think, wow,
-
is it going to be the same, And then you
-
look at like, I mean, I don't know whether any
-
of you got lack. Okay, some people will do, some
-
people won't. Some of us here, we're too busy, we
-
don't even border, you know. Four twenty five no difference, right,
-
or we're still pursuing what we are pursuing, and sometimes
-
there's no time to breathe.
-
But I guess I've learned.
-
I mean, through my years of being alive, I've learned
-
a few things that are good practicers are And one
-
of the good practices I feel is reflecting.
-
You know, And when you.
-
Talk about reflection, basically you are taking a pause to
-
think about things, you know, taking a pause to consider.
-
And I just want to encourage us to maybe take
-
a pause. You know.
-
Maybe we're in a busy season, stressful season, whatever season
-
we're in, maybe you're in a very free season reflecting
-
all this world. It's okay, you can still continue reflect
-
but I just want to encourage us here at church
-
that can we take some time to take stock of
-
our lives and to adjust.
-
You know.
-
The thing about life is that I believe everyone here
-
you want to succeed. Amen, You want to succeed, whether
-
it's in life, what they is in business, whether it's relationships,
-
what is in your family.
-
Always want to do well. One.
-
There's nobody here that aim and their goal is to
-
fail one nobody right. If they are, then I worry
-
for them. Uh, you know, nobody here wants to fail.
-
Everybody wants to succeed. Everybody wants to do well. Everybody
-
wants to raise good kids. Everybody wants to have good businesses.
-
Everybody wants to be rich. Only John. Only John wants
-
to be reach. Everyone else don't want to be rich.
-
It's okay, Yeah, everybody likes just you guys awake, Good morning,
-
everybody morning. I think the worship was so awesome just
-
now that everybody's like resting.
-
Really. Uh, you know, everybody wants to succeed.
-
And sometimes if you're not careful when we pursue something
-
or when we go forward, even even the world right
-
when you go for those like what smart goals or
-
those like you know, a business conference, sales comfort, whatever
-
conferences are, and they will say, you know, you've got
-
a target and a goal, and you go and you
-
must make sure you have time to review, time to
-
feed back, time to do the brief, time to adjust
-
a little bit.
-
And I realized that adjustment is actually quite important.
-
Of course, some people the way they adjust is they
-
just throw everything you know and change everything you know
-
because they're not happy. Then it come to a place
-
where they're like, oh, you know, let me let me just,
-
let me just change everything, let me just my great
-
solve all my problems. I just my great and then
-
everything resolved, not necessarily our friends, uh, you know, uh,
-
and I realized that, you know, it's actually important for
-
us to just text some time, to text stock and
-
to adjust if you need to. Okay, So can we
-
reflect a little bit on how things have been in
-
the past year. How has it been for you in
-
the past year? Has it been good? And can we
-
just take some time to think if we can make
-
better decisions coming this year, Because at the end of
-
the day, if we make good decisions, then we will
-
be able to progress. But if we don't make good decisions,
-
then we are going to go into another pathway.
-
You know, all of us here on a path, whether
-
we realize or not.
-
Whether you feel like, oh, no, you know, my life
-
is dictated some of your uh you know, kids or whatever.
-
You're like, oh, my life is dictated. Maybe when you're young,
-
no choice, like, ok, you have to follow, right, have
-
to follow whatever your parents bring you. But the older
-
you get, the more responsibility you have, the more you
-
realize or more if you didn't realize that Actually, you
-
can do whatever you want. Nobody's forcing you to be here, right,
-
nobody's forcing you to hear, So don't don't, don't. Don't
-
live as though you're being forced to be here. No,
-
you're here because it's your choice. You're here because it
-
is your choice. You're volition where you are at in
-
your life. It is your choice. Oh no, no, no,
-
I'm forced to be here because my no friends is
-
your choice. Because if you choose to not be here,
-
you cannot be here. If you choose to change your job,
-
you can. If you choose to you know, God forbid.
-
Some people they actually want change our family, and they do.
-
I'm not saying you should okay, because that's not bi
-
bigger right, And it's actually important to text Stock, you
-
know why, because when if let's say, we continue walking
-
a path and we don't take stock, the danger is
-
you will reach a place you don't want to be,
-
and then we start making drastic decisions because your low
-
right make sense, not your low because we didn't adjust
-
in the beginning, and then we start making drastic decisions. So, friends,
-
do you realize or well not, do you realize?
-
You know?
-
Throughout twenty twenty four right, we might be carrying things
-
with us that we shouldn't carry.
-
You know that you could do that could happen to you.
-
Okay, we could be carrying things with us that we
-
shouldn't carry, right, A lot of things, a lot of
-
things that we could be carrying right with us as
-
we walk twenty twenty four, there are a lot of
-
things that we could be carrying with us, and a
-
lot of us. Right, we have baggage just la. You know,
-
it's a figure out speach and also literal. It is
-
bags very heavy, you know, pass see when you're that's
-
not how heavy this vegas or very heavior my raid
-
bag Okay, I know John quite strong, enjoy untry.
-
Huh.
-
Look at my baggage, my proud, wonderful, rate looking, shiny baggage,
-
very heavy baggage that I've been carrying with me for
-
the whole year of twenty twenty four. And you know
-
in life, right, we can be carrying a heavy baggage
-
with us, some of us.
-
See, we could be carrying it.
-
I could be carrying it like this, and it's really
-
don't it's quite obviously it's quite heavy, right, because it's
-
difficult for me to walk imagine walking life like this tough, right,
-
Imagine doing work like this, Oh my goodness, imagine thinking
-
of your taking care of your kids this eric Ken
-
or not? You have to carry Chroe and the carry
-
one more dangerous.
-
Right. But a lot of us have a very heavy
-
baggage with us. Some of us don't. I realize.
-
If I say, hey, want you so bordo, why don't
-
you just roll it? The bag is meant to be rolled.
-
See now we coupled a bit harder to roll, but
-
can okay, like easier like easier, easier to roll than carry.
-
But that's the problem.
-
We get used to our baggage, We get used to
-
bringing it along nineteen eighty two, it's the year I
-
was born, nineteen ninety.
-
Two thousand, two thousand and five, twenty ten.
-
Or I gets here and heavior, why because I keep
-
adding things to this bag. I'm not showing you, la,
-
but I keep adding things. Can I have to slide
-
the twenty twenty four twenty twenty five slide. What I
-
want to encourage us this morning is that as we
-
walk into twenty twenty four as sorry as we want
-
into twenty twenty five, from twenty thirty four, don't bring
-
the bag along because this back ways us down. This
-
back ways us down. It's a rare heavy bag, right,
-
you want.
-
To see how he it is? Back is? See? Everybody's
-
curious now how heavy the bag is? Very heavy bag? Right?
-
I know, I know Joe goes to the gym or so,
-
so I think she can lift it. Just now, can
-
I a bit?
-
Lah? Just now? At extra quil sound?
-
The girls cannot even lift it, Joshua, Joseph, just come,
-
Joseph try he also athlete?
-
Uh, don't don't die your a cl you need it.
-
Okay, very heavy back, isn't you see when we can
-
see the bagger? Everybody's like, pace, what are you doing?
-
We're so foolish? Let it go, don't hold it. But
-
a lot of thanks what I said, A lot of
-
us here are used to our back. In fact, huh,
-
well this back looks good now, red and nice and shiny.
-
Wouldn't any of you want this back? Are you guys
-
curious what's in the back? Dumb bells?
-
Now?
-
Are you curious what's in the back? I need someone
-
to help me. Let me pick someone, or before that,
-
let me go to the scripture first. Then we'll do
-
the illustration some of us here, A lot of things
-
in the back right doesn't benefit us, but we're taking
-
it along with us. And if you're honest with ourselves
-
and we take responsibility of our own actions, remember I said,
-
it is our choice. And if let's say, you come
-
to a place to say no, God is the one,
-
then you better follow God sailah, because whatever God wants
-
for you is good, even though you don't like it.
-
At the point it is my time. Don't complain. I
-
mean you can complain to your hated leader or whatever.
-
You know. I do it all the time.
-
I always tell the elder god win your law, because
-
he put me in this place again, to trust him again,
-
to relarn him again, to give me a testimony again, but.
-
Paying for right.
-
And if we think of our lives in terms of stewardship, no,
-
that's the thing about men. We want to be in control.
-
We want to be in charge, we want to be
-
the one that is great. You know I planted the
-
church I grew. You know, it's very honoring to hear
-
or being very involved. But to be really honest, right,
-
I take no glory in helping expell grow.
-
It is all the.
-
Right in fact I got joke like if you know
-
the real story, right, I wanted to run away from
-
BJ That's why I want the plant next bu, but
-
go ahead other plans. That's simesill stuck there. But if
-
we think of our lives in terms of stewardship, God,
-
you are in charge. I'm managing my life. How are
-
we doing? What should we do?
-
If we are heavy laden and stressed?
-
And imagine you are pursuing your degree, You're pursuing your work,
-
you're pursuing your fami, You're trying to be successful.
-
But there is a heavy weight.
-
Anybody want to run full marathon with this? Anybody look
-
at you, be like, why are you so smart one?
-
Why are you carrying this burden? Why are we all
-
carrying this burden?
-
Waders? So what do we need to do? Friends?
-
Well, we need to have a come to Jesus moment,
-
Come to Jesus. Why, Well, let me give you a
-
scripture first and then let me show you something. Okay,
-
Matthew eleven twenty five to three, let's read that, are
-
you guys?
-
Okay?
-
This is why you need to bring your bibles because
-
if one day the screen don't work on.
-
Then you have to rely on your memory, it says here.
-
At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank you, Father,
-
Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these
-
things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them
-
to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seems good
-
in your sight. All things have been delivered to me
-
by my father. And no one knows the son except
-
the father. Nor does anyone know the father except the
-
son and the one and the one whom the son
-
wills to reveal him. Come to me, all you who
-
labor and I havevy laden, and I will give you rest.
-
Take my yoke upon you learn from me. And I'm
-
gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest
-
in your souls. For my Yoki is eavy and easy,
-
and my brother in his life. So, friends, we need
-
to go to him. We need to go to him.
-
But it's a choice, you know, passus Steven, Maybe you
-
can help me. Who should be Jesus in bee to
-
help me? Who can be Jesus?
-
Here? Just name someone? I need someone to help me.
-
Yeah, yeah hoo, Nana, come come, okay, come kill correct now,
-
Jesus is like Middle Eastern, so can so imagine he's
-
Jesus are a really cool looking Jesus are Okay, you
-
stay here? So so what do we do when we
-
got hey Burton, go to Jesus and pass him Alburdon.
-
Come, you want to.
-
See us in the back, right, let's see us in
-
the back. Yeah, come, Jesus, help me with the back.
-
Help me?
-
Okay, one by one now, don't don't take all the
-
weight now, I might you know, get very stressed out.
-
Oh what's in the back. Let's see? Wow, worry, worry? Hey,
-
I worry, worry. You might wanna.
-
I don't think you're better carry thing Jesus. What she's
-
standing there?
-
Me passes to you? Okay, I passed my worries to Jesus.
-
What else? Anger? I got share? Many times? Got anger? Problem? Right?
-
Pass it? Actually? You know what?
-
I want to keep it? Do you not this that
-
he didn't force it? He didn't force really take my
-
anger away? Do you realize that I have to pass
-
in my disappointments. I have to pass it to him.
-
I have to pass him my hurt?
-
How many of us carrying her for many.
-
Years, still carrying her steal that auntie hur Yo cut
-
me and.
-
I ah and God Jesus loves you at the back
-
of the cart, somemore. I want to keep it. I
-
want to keep it, give it to Christ. How many
-
of us have addictions? Do you know that?
-
TikTok this addition? I'm thinking twice. Wow, design is a
-
big one. Offenses. The greatest defense is offense, right, Johanna,
-
he should introduced me just now x X big feels
-
right when they introduced me the road there, but say
-
we used to write songs and be in a band.
-
I'm like, Wow, that's the history that long time good.
-
But John didn't introduce me.
-
Huh. White people don't know offenses. I thought a photo
-
of this slightly.
-
I'm like, oh, my goodness, fear, what's gonna happen now?
-
Four? Oh? No?
-
I got no money now, my father in the hospital,
-
my wife's looking for a job. I'm full time. God,
-
let me keep my fear. Bad habits weighing as down.
-
I want to, I want to, I want to, but
-
I donola what else is wearing down?
-
Pride?
-
Can I speak to the men? Men, you gotta be careful.
-
It is women most of the time don't have this issue.
-
But we got pride.
-
No, you know the way I build XBU. Let me
-
show all the other church plans. How awesome XBU is
-
meeting in the most expensive hotel right, having awesome people
-
all dressed pride? Do you know that pride can also
-
happen in ministry? Who's who?
-
Who? Who? Who's the greater pastor, who's the greater leader?
-
Who does? What? Is it God or us? Pride? No?
-
I build the business.
-
I'm a self made man, John, I'm a self made man.
-
Look at my family, awesome family. I built it from
-
scratch because I invested me, me, me pride. Okay, let's
-
keep this to again, fear and anger. I keep both.
-
Is he wise to keep extra weights? But Jesus, I
-
want to keep this.
-
What did Jesus say, Hello, brother, you've got rescripture and
-
not Jesus say come to me all your here laden.
-
No, but that's the wonderful, wonderful thing about God. No,
-
I realize God's not going to force you.
-
Think about it. If God forced me.
-
Okay, let's say you force me to force me, force
-
me to take this away? Come bro, you're supposed to
-
Let's say no, no, no, take it right? Don't you
-
think I will fight God and take it back. Don't
-
you think if God for no, God, why don't you
-
fortuately take my anger away, fortuately take my my unforgiveness away.
-
We will fight back. We've got to take it back.
-
So no point God force you. So I think, Oh God,
-
you're all powerful. Just make it happen now, But you
-
see the problem making it happen. We will end up
-
in the same place again because this is something we
-
cannot give up. It has to be given, don't Okay,
-
you need to be a better Jesus by the case,
-
thanks so much. Sure it passed to Jesus. Ready you
-
put it in, you can put it on.
-
So now the bag is empty. Guys, the bag is empty.
-
Doesn't help me? Help me this Jesus is h I'm
-
in the clouds, ok can help me? Okay? Yeah? You
-
standing here first? Son? Wow, isn't it light? Now? Busses here?
-
Light right the back? Oh? Good? Isn't it a good idea?
-
Is it light? Light? Light? Come check? Like? I want
-
to test one test you one test? It's light right?
-
Makes sense? Right, it's light right? I got no more
-
on my burdens, I got no more everything? Well, how awesome?
-
Then now I can carry this back, and I can
-
take this back. Can I have the year again? Can
-
I take this back right? From two thousand and four
-
to Yeay, I got a I got a light back.
-
I can do whatever you want right now, Eric, you
-
can carry your daughter and carry the back. Because it's like,
-
isn't it a good idea? Do you know that Somemer
-
are still keeping our luggage. We have given up our burdens,
-
but we are still holding clothes, our luggage.
-
You know what's going to happen.
-
We give everything to Jesus to day right, and then
-
Jesus go back, go back, just go back, Okay, just happy,
-
just go back. And then twenty five comes and now
-
I'm like, ah, something happened. Ah, oh no, something bad happens.
-
Is not here anymore because I given it to him
-
in December because it is Christmas. I went to church.
-
Oh no, something bad happened. How am I going to survive?
-
Now?
-
I got another financial crisis?
-
Yo? Pass this even? Why go and do that? Man?
-
I work so hard. I'm the man of the ministry.
-
You know what, God, I did everything for you, right,
-
let me do this one thing for myself.
-
I can't believe. Sharon said, that to me. See, I'm
-
using the names of the people that I know want
-
do it.
-
Oh man, the market is crashing. What's gonna happen all
-
my investments? Oh, I need to relieve myself because I'm
-
so stressed up. See John again, never introduce me properly again.
-
Hi.
-
Oh, I'm so disappointed everybody. Everybody has disappointed me. I
-
tried so hard to be a good person, but.
-
Everybody has disappointed me. And then you're back to square one?
-
What should we do? Not just the waits? Friends, get
-
right off the bag. You got no back. You cannot
-
put anything inside. If you give the back to Jesus,
-
I got no back to put my hearts inside.
-
Even better, if I constantly walk with Jesus every time
-
there's a way. Just now, you notice he during Christmas,
-
I come church, I give you all the burdens, Oh Lord,
-
change my whole life. I keep the back, and then
-
throughout the year I walk, I get hurt. Hey, friends,
-
all this weight now will keep happening to you. And
-
know if we didn't know you think what after become Christian?
-
Everything is speech? No oh no said, we need to
-
be stronger as Christian.
-
Try so when you to carry the weight.
-
No, all you who are heavy laden, take my yoke
-
upon you and cast your budeness on me.
-
Custard Ready, don't you think that? Now? Without the bag,
-
without the words, it's easier for me to do things.
-
It's easier when I don't have unforgiveness, when I don't
-
have offenses.
-
Where do I have heard?
-
It's easier for me to minister. It's easier for me
-
to do all these things. Don't you think so?
-
So? Friends? We got to let go of all those things?
-
Why Jesus? Why of all? No?
-
Why not self care? Why not spa? Why not shopping spree?
-
Why not let's eat food? No, let's eat, let's eat,
-
let's eat? Why not all these things? Copying mechanisms, paselving,
-
that's what I learned.
-
Why not all this? Why Jesus? Well, let's go to
-
the Bible. Okay.
-
First point, Jesus is our prince of peace. Isaiah nine
-
says six nine. Chapter nine, Verse six says, for unto
-
us a child is born, unto us, his son is given,
-
and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his
-
name will be called wonderful counselor Mighty God, everlasting Father,
-
and Prince of peace. What does Jesus bring to us? Prince,
-
have you ever thought about it before? What does he bring?
-
Or I have to become Christian? I got Christian name. Now, No,
-
he doesn't just bring us a Christian name. He doesn't
-
just bring us across. He doesn't just bring us a
-
holiday that we can enjoy. There we get gifts, and
-
then on Easter we get chicks. You know, last time
-
in my church, I don't know whether you grew up
-
they give you chicks. Don't know why chicken chicks? No, not, no,
-
other chicks are don't see me think, hey we got kids.
-
Here, guys, chill.
-
Jesus brings us God's presence. How God's presence true? The
-
Holy Spirit?
-
Why? Because God duels in us. It's all scriptural line.
-
You can go ahead and in fact check me if
-
you want God duels in us true the Holy Spirit?
-
Because I just said I will go to the Father.
-
You accept me, you become my followers. I will go
-
to the Father and I will send a helper. And
-
the Holy Spirit is here with us. He resides in
-
our hearts. And what is the Holy Spirit God's presence?
-
So God's presence true? The Holy Spirit he dwells in
-
us true the Holy Spirit. And what does God's presence bring?
-
Some of you might have experienced all these things, but
-
you don't fully understand. Hopefully today you have understanding God's
-
presence bring joy and peace. Half past selven. I'm not
-
so happy. Well, I don't like to use to what happiness.
-
Let me explain a little bit about joy. Psalm sixteen
-
eleven says, you will show me the path of life
-
in your presence is fullness of joy.
-
See God's presence bring us joy and peace.
-
Right in your right hand our pleasures for emmore, the
-
Lord will give strength to his people.
-
The Lord will bless his people with peace.
-
Psalms twenty nine eleven Nihi Maya eight ten says then
-
he said to them, go your way in the fat,
-
drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom
-
nothing is prepared for This day is holy to our Lord.
-
Do not sorrow, for the joy of.
-
The lot is your See we say, joy of the
-
Lord is your strength.
-
Right, but we fully understand that.
-
Let me give you a bit of an understanding about joy.
-
And why is the joy of the lot of strength?
-
Why not happiness?
-
Right?
-
Why not the pursuit of happiness. It's a movie, right,
-
pursure of happiness. Have you seen someone or maybe your
-
self experienced this? You have all purpose in your heart,
-
all joy in your heart. But then the situation is difficult.
-
You're still doing the world.
-
Have you seen that?
-
Let me give you an example. It got a lot
-
of parents here. Your child brings a lot of joy, right, correct,
-
also brings a lot of pain, right, but you're still joyful. Right,
-
You're still strong?
-
Right? Do you? Ah, don't bring happiness to my life?
-
I give oela. Are you gonna do that? So you
-
feel like doing that? Now? Why is the job a
-
lot of strength?
-
Because when we have joy, when we have purpose in
-
our life, when we have true purpose in our life,
-
when you have purpose in your job. Let's use your
-
job as an example. If you have a job that
-
is purposeful, how many of you here know that job?
-
Not every time is daisies and sunshine and rainbows on.
-
There will be days where it's difficult, correct, But if
-
you're in a job that you enjoy even in the
-
hard times, you will do it. Even in the hard times,
-
you will enjoy it. You're not going to give up.
-
But if you're in a job that you don't enjoy. Bye, guys, Corona.
-
Let me give you this perspective about weakness and strength.
-
Have you met someone who is depressed, tired, right, angry? Said?
-
What do they want to do? Most of the time? Sleep,
-
stay at home, don't want to do anything? Are they strong?
-
No? Do they want to do anything? No?
-
They are weak. We're not talking about the ability or
-
the strength. No, we're talking about the condition of the heart.
-
When someone is in a down place, offended and all.
-
Let me use church as an example. Oh, you know
-
the church are offended. Me won't do anything for church anymody.
-
But if someone has purpose and said, you know what, Lord,
-
I know that I'm dealing with people and no matter
-
where I go, it's not gonna be perfect, it's gonna
-
be tough. I know the purpose and I still find
-
joy in the ministry I'm in. Do you know how
-
difficult the church will be? And how sorry church not difficult?
-
People are dificult, How difficult people will be where people
-
spin on you, people don't care about you, people you
-
know don't appreciate you, and essay, thank you, You're still
-
going to do it because the jaw of the Lord
-
is your strength.
-
You see that? Not do you understand that? Now?
-
Do you understand how important is it for us to
-
appeace and enjoy in our lives, Because when you have
-
no joy in your family, you're not going to continue.
-
There's how people want to change. But when there's joy
-
in the family. But can I give you another perspective?
-
Joy and peace are doesn't come from outside, It comes
-
from insight. You know, I don't like happiness. People define
-
happiness as this everything outside happening according to what I want,
-
Then I happy. But do you know that the Bible
-
teaches us different things. For the joy of the Lord
-
is your strength, and you are peace. We all know
-
that in life it will not be perfect. But you
-
have joy and peace in your life, and you find
-
purpose in what you do through the darkest days, through the.
-
Stormiest nights, through the most difficult time. You are still dead.
-
Your cash there, not your cash there.
-
Some you hear you have made those sacrifices, but you
-
know the purpose because when you look at your child,
-
it is beyond the stress. You're still gonna do it
-
with a smile on your face. And of course with
-
Jesus is easier. With Jesus is easier. But when he
-
is not there, we're heart.
-
Trust me.
-
If he's not there, it's gonna be we hat because
-
who are you relying on? But we who rely on
-
Christ we have joy and we have peace because Luke
-
twelve two four things says glory to God in the
-
highest on earth, peace, good will to admit. Okay, let
-
me talk a little bit about peace. I'm not sure
-
whether or not you are familiar with other beliefs and all,
-
but so far only in Christians are only people who
-
believe in Jesus. Right, we talk about peace a lot.
-
We talk about having peace of God. We talk about
-
when we make a decision, we have peace. Have you
-
heard of testimony said before the person, in logical fact,
-
go A or go be A. Pay more money but
-
no peace, be pay less money, a lot of peace.
-
I choose B. Don't make sense.
-
But then when they go be although don't pay a
-
lot of money. According to my checkbook, the person is joyful,
-
the person is enjoying life. The person is doing all
-
carding where else. Then later on you find out if
-
I went to A and I get a lot of money,
-
Oh my goodness, it's going to be like hell on
-
earth see.
-
Only Christians understand that why because we.
-
Have God's presence, God's presence being peace, And if we
-
continue to make a decision out of God's presence, We're
-
not going to experience peace. That is our guiding life.
-
Right makes sense? Not how many of you had experienced
-
peace before? How many you when you want to make
-
a decision, it don't It don't make sense that you
-
don't make sense. One you know, it don't make sense
-
because it only makes sense if God is guiding you.
-
If you use your brain, it won't make sense. If
-
you use the loss of the land, it's not going
-
to make sense. I think I've shared before. As believer us,
-
we've got to decide wish Lord. We follow God's law
-
his scriptures, is word or the world's law. We have
-
to decide. You have to decide which one you think
-
you know will benefit you more. And do you know
-
that God's laws don't make sense to the world. They
-
will never understand, They will never understand. But those who
-
follow God, those who follow Christ, those who read the Word,
-
you understand. And when we reach out to people and
-
when we talk to people, and when we share with people,
-
and when they finally receive, Then their eyes will be
-
open and they will understand. I used to not understand
-
that scripture, that their ears will be open to hear
-
and their eyes will be open to see by side
-
what we've God.
-
I realized God has.
-
Revealed to us, those of us who follow God, those
-
of us who follow Christ. We things have been revealed
-
to us that other people who do not follow God
-
don't see. So how you try to convince them? How
-
do you try to reason with them? They will never
-
understand until they receive Christ in the lives. Then their
-
eyes will be open and their ears were here. You're
-
catching something and not today, I hope you are. Jesus
-
called us to be peace makers. So why leave the baggage?
-
Why am I encouraging you leave the baggage?
-
Friends?
-
Some of us here and I say, someone's cost me
-
or so I'm dealing with some things in my life.
-
We've been carrying hurt now for years. You know.
-
It's about time we let it Gola spread ty ring.
-
You know it's hard to run a raser when you
-
got away next to you give it.
-
To the lord, surrendering to the Lord.
-
Don't keep the back of so give the back, give
-
everything Lord, you take everything I don't want ready, right,
-
I want to experience your peace.
-
In my life. I want to experience you in my life.
-
I want to experience your joy that will give me
-
strength when times are heart When do you need strength
-
when times are heart Now you don't kind of don't
-
need strength when things go really well.
-
You only need extra.
-
Strength when times are heart So the job of the
-
Lord will come and then you will have strength to
-
move on, to carry on, to wake up, to still
-
go through the day even though times are hard. Jesus
-
called us to be peace makers. Why peace makers, Well,
-
because he's the Prince of peace. He's asking us to
-
carry on his legacy on bringing peace on this earth.
-
I have come to a place in my life and
-
I realized I get really irritated with this, that I'm
-
really tired of conflict because throughout my whole childhood I've
-
experienced a verse that I mean, there's a term psychology.
-
What I mean.
-
It's not that bad, Okay, I think it's not anyway
-
a verse childhood. Okay, So I just have enough drama
-
in my life when I'm younger, when I'm older, I
-
don't want drama. Sometimes it can be a bit counter
-
because then you become a verse to conflict, which is
-
not good, because conflict is okay, you just need to
-
resolve it, and you need to teach I need to
-
teach my kids how to manage conflict.
-
I cannot just avoid conflict, right.
-
But I've also come to a place where if the
-
conflict is unnecessary, right, I'm like, I just don't want it.
-
I'm like, you know, you're not John. You've been like
-
you've been.
-
Okay, it's okay, don't have to introduce me. I'm joking
-
doing to introduce me as a person who is in
-
a band. Okay, I'm fine, I'm fine, it's not important.
-
Right.
-
And I realized one thing that Jesus, there are a lot
-
of people in this world got no peace. They got everything,
-
they got money, they got you know. Actually, I've heard
-
somewhere the richer you are, the most stress you will become.
-
I don't know whether it's true or not, but they
-
got no peace. A lot of people got no peace
-
in their lives. What we called to do, friends metthew
-
five nine says, blessed are the peacemakers, because they will
-
be called.
-
Sons of God.
-
So we are called to be a peacemaker. Do you
-
know that you cannot be a peacemaker if you've got
-
no peace in your life. If you got at drama
-
in your life, right, you're gonna go and create more drama.
-
He has to come out somewhere on. But if you
-
if you give to Jesus or your drum, and you
-
you are able to at peace in your life, then
-
wherever you go are is zen One's peace one. It's
-
not a good word to use. But you guys can't
-
get what I mean right? And you cannot figure it on?
-
You cannot you have a sayer, It's very obvious one.
-
When people are with you, are they at peace or
-
they more stress?
-
You know?
-
I know sometimes my stuff with me there more stress.
-
Maybe I should be a more better peacemaker. How do
-
we become a peacemaker? Well, we do it true forgiveness,
-
true love, and through sharing the good news. That's how
-
we become peacemakers, right, making disciples and pointing them to
-
Jesus because we receive peace from Christ. Why we so
-
edmant about damant it's not the right nice word. I
-
don't know my means, my behavioral I keep using all
-
these strong words on. My wife always correct me on
-
why are you so passionate about preaching the gospel, Not
-
just because you want to fill up the church with people. No,
-
we want people to experience peace. Right, when do you
-
guys come church? Because for some of you you may
-
not fully understand it by your experience peace when you're here,
-
no drama, nobody judge you.
-
Right, you experience peace. But when we go out there
-
or no peace?
-
But do you know they're supposed to bring the peace
-
to experience here out there, You're supposed to bring the
-
Jesus that.
-
You have out there. Jesus not just on this in
-
this chest. No. Right, God's presence not just here.
-
And you know when pusses even bring up the No,
-
God's presence is in each and every one of you,
-
because your body is a temple. See, it's all scriptural, friends,
-
it's all scriptural. Isaiah nine two says the people who
-
want in darkness have seen a light. You guys have
-
seen a light. Those who dwelt in the land of
-
the shadow of death upon them, a light has shined.
-
The message of peace and the message of hope is
-
the message we carry and the message we live out.
-
How do you solve problems in your office? How do
-
you solve you know, conflict? Peace first, not issue first,
-
not I'm right first, not justice.
-
First, No peace first.
-
Do you know that it's easier to resolve conflict when
-
everybody is come, but when everybody's like you know, very hard?
-
So peace first.
-
See, even God knows no peace first. You guys who
-
know the scripture?
-
How pass alvin well?
-
For God so loved the world that he gave his
-
only begotten son, that whoever believes in him should not
-
perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send
-
his son into the world to condemn the world, but
-
that the world true him might be saved. I wonder
-
if this scripture holds new meaning now, since we know
-
what we know now. Matthew twenty eighth, nineteen twenty, Go
-
there for make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in
-
the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit,
-
teaching them to observe all things I've commanded you and law,
-
and with you always even to the end of the age. Amen,
-
we receive Jesus as our personal lind Savior. We receive
-
God's presence, We receive peace, we receive joy that helps
-
us through difficult times. And then we make disciples. We
-
teach people, Hey, this is how you follow God. Hey,
-
this is how you tap into God's priends. Hey, this
-
is what you do. We make disciples, and God will
-
do his work in our lives. God will give us
-
more revelation. The more we read the Word, the more
-
we feel our minds, you know, and the more we,
-
you know, consume the stuff.
-
Of God, we will grow. Amen.
-
So, friends, this my encoagement. Don't carry your baggage to
-
twenty twenty five, give it to Jesus. Okay, time to
-
leave certain things in twenty twenty four behind time too.
-
Isn't it tiring? Isn't it tiring? Look at my mom like,
-
oh yeah, I'm so tiler.
-
I don't do it.
-
This really so much unnecessary drama. I've got better things
-
to do. Seriously, you know, if people fight over things,
-
let the fight over things. I'm okay, you know, I
-
would rather just let it go right.
-
Hebrews child one says.
-
Therefore, we also, since we are surrounded by so great
-
a cloud of winnesses, Friends, it is a benefit that
-
we have a church community. Because we encourage each other
-
in the faith. We encourage each other in the faith.
-
We encourage each other to believe in God, not just
-
to be holy, but to live for him. Parents encouraging parents,
-
young adults encouraging douts. We encourage each other. We're not
-
in this alone. Let us lay aside every way, lay
-
aside the baggage. Don't carry with you anymore. Is it
-
a past relationship that hurt you? Is it your mom
-
that said the wrong thing, your dad that's say the
-
wrong thing, Your parents didn't give you what you want?
-
You know what is it? Let us lay every way?
-
And the sin we're so inasantly and snanches.
-
Do you know why it's wake fast than sin later,
-
Because after a while, the weight can become sin now
-
if you hold onto the wait long enough, right know
-
things that are better, you know, things that are bad.
-
Will slowly faster and rot.
-
Do you know the unforgiveness can become bitterness and then
-
hate now and then it come to a place where
-
I don't even know I'm angry passus Stephen, but I
-
remember he did something wrong to me, I don't know what,
-
and then maybe passes him.
-
It's just like oh I forgot to say hello that day,
-
but now I hate him with all my being for
-
what right?
-
It's slowly fastest, fastest, fastest. The Bible says, watch out
-
for the little foxes. Right, let us run with endurance
-
the race that is set before us. You gotta run, friends,
-
God has so much more in store for each and
-
every one of you. God has so much in stall
-
for each and every one of you. But again, I'm
-
back to this point. You have to give the weight
-
to Christ. You have to be the one that say,
-
it's my choice or you take it. I don't hold
-
it anymore. I don't keep it anymore. You take it,
-
la it's not worth it, right, it's not off it.
-
Let me share view a simple testimony. So this just
-
happened recently. Anyway, I just want to thank different ones
-
who prayed for me. The past few days have been
-
quite crazy because my dad was, you know, hospital, just
-
the rainings happened.
-
So thank you so much for praying. But I was
-
very stressed out.
-
Okay, I was so stressed out right, pass see can
-
all reach me also? And I never responded to anybody.
-
It was Thursday Friday, and basically my dad's a killing
-
patient and he has been trying to hold on going
-
for a dialysis for a long time, so Enna had
-
to send him to the hospital because of different complications
-
and his dad being taken care of. And of course
-
it was like two full days lat and it was
-
very stressful.
-
It's very stressful. On Thursday.
-
It happened on Thursday to send him in actually happened
-
the day before, but then on Thursday, Thursday or whatever.
-
But anyway, Uh, I took him to the hospital on Thursday,
-
and we waited the whole day. And if you know
-
public hospital public by the way, you guys nowhere, I
-
will say two bad things about public health care because
-
in Malaysia, you got no money, you can still survive. Okay,
-
thank God for our public health care. Okay, but not easy.
-
You have to wait, LA, So wait a very long
-
we're stressful. And finally he got in and the next
-
day I went and we see him on Friday. I
-
was actually planning to visit him lunchtime only, and then
-
what happened was because some drama happened. Uh basically my my,
-
I mean, my dad's not young and his of course
-
concern for his own health and of course the doctors
-
will see him and talk to him LA, and he
-
kind of didn't give them accurate information now okay on
-
some things, and because of that they were going to
-
I mean, it's not that bad, but they were going
-
to put him on another treatment, you know, for different reasons.
-
Okay, I won't go to the it.
-
And when I went there I found out about it.
-
I'm like, what, I made a bit of a fust.
-
You know, Dalla is stressed on our sleep, and then
-
suddenly you're telling me this. You know, we were on
-
one way of treatment which we really planned, discussed for
-
many months in the feel that it is the best
-
safirst and all the kind of stuff, but of course
-
it costs more. But spoke to the brothers, we will commit.
-
And then my dad maybe he was concerned. He told
-
the doctors other things and whenever I'm like, oh lord.
-
And then the thing about public healthcare. If you're not there,
-
then sometimes it's like very very fast. I know the
-
doctor w make decisions and then but you're not there
-
and I cannot be there. Well then because I'm a
-
visitor and my dad is at this stage, so it's
-
very hot because they will rely.
-
On his information.
-
So I made a big fast and then the doctors
-
kind of find out what and then I had to
-
do some things to sort of like tell my dad,
-
Dad is going to be fine, you know. So one
-
of the things we had to do was or one
-
of the things that the hospital wanted to know was
-
whether or not we have a DIALLYCEI center because to
-
get the resist you you know, it's not easy to
-
get and stuff like that. But they want to know
-
because once they start the dit S treatment and he
-
has to do it really uh, if you don't have
-
a center, then difficult, you know, but because wants to start,
-
you to continue all the way READIMA.
-
So you need a center.
-
And we didn't find a center because my dad has
-
been holding it off everything for you, la, may.
-
I tell you suddenly say this?
-
So then I after the drama in the afternoon, then
-
we went and looked for a center.
-
There was a center that I saw near my dad's house.
-
I'm getting to the testimonia, so I might share if
-
you try, all these things very stressful, remember I said,
-
I don't unnecessary conflict, but we're stressful because just try
-
and get things done right. So we me and my wife,
-
after seeing my dad, we went to this delicy center
-
that was wearing in my house. I noticed it, and
-
then we went there just to inquire. Lah, Okay, we
-
were shopping.
-
You know, and I tell you, let me, let me
-
tell let me, let me tell you this. Laugh. If
-
you follow God and you're trust in him, he will
-
really take care of you.
-
He really took care of you. Because what happened was
-
we went there. So there are a few things that
-
went well for us. Number one, the costing for the
-
delicis center, and I did my research.
-
I was good. Number Two, the lady, the sister that
-
was there, the HTE nurse, was very nice. She explained everything.
-
You you know, we need a phillies form, phillies from
-
phillies form near the doctor's thing. And we're like, okay,
-
we got this. It seemed like a possible place. Uh
-
and and and then we so we got a potential
-
delysis center at about so we went in, talked for
-
half an hour, and we're going to leave. So when
-
we're gonna leave, and then that was about three o'clock.
-
Suddenly I got a phone call from the hospital. They said, hey,
-
you know, are you still around, you know, because we
-
want you to talk to the hate the attending neuprologists,
-
which is the hate doctor that will diagnose my that
-
will do the treatment for my dad. And I'm like,
-
oh okay, I'm sill here. So I rushed back to
-
the hospital. Was on Friday, and then I saw the
-
doctor and I was able to explain the doctor what happened.
-
You know, why was my dad's concern, but don't worry,
-
and the doctor we were able to talk. So we
-
were able to talk. We were in alignment, and then
-
there was a plan. So pray Scott for that. The
-
other testimony was that remember I got the forms and
-
then I needed to feel and then the hitnes sing
-
saying the hospital probably take say you probably take a
-
few days again, probably health care maybe private hospital. You
-
give your fill out on the spotland but you know
-
pay health care different. They were the very fine all.
-
So I of course took the form and passed the
-
doctor and say, how doctor, what do I do with this?
-
Can you fill it up? And he's like, oh, go
-
to my clinic. But after one two minutes he's like,
-
you know what, let me do it now. He feeled
-
out everything on the spot for me. You don't get
-
this kind of favor and no friends, because I said,
-
just tell me and I'll get you done.
-
You know.
-
I was like, just bring it down, you know how
-
long after it then he look at me like, Nemea, la,
-
it's urgent them let me do it for you now.
-
So you got all the documents you fill up over
-
the counter at the ward, feel that pass me the
-
thing I got, you know. And then I'm like wow,
-
and then I align with the doctor and everything is fine,
-
and it was good. Everything happened very fast within that
-
few hours, from no deleasy center to a potential dealasis center,
-
from some of the documents that I need to get
-
done and probably will take a week to like I've
-
got most of it done ready, right? Wow, God is
-
really with you when you need him? Can I tell
-
you something?
-
Not so proud.
-
I didn't pray, I didn't say oh Lord, please cut nothing,
-
but I recognize that when it all happened, I'm like, God,
-
this has to be you. The timing is just so perfect.
-
Can I share you a last testimony. I'm not of
-
the woods yet, but I believe God is with us
-
and we'll see how this goes the next few days.
-
But as the Hittenus was as we were exchanging contexts,
-
she asked like oh, I need a number. She gave
-
me a number and said, I need a number so
-
that you know you can apply and then I'll get
-
back to you.
-
I passed her this cart.
-
So this is a cart that we printed out because
-
a lot of times people asked me when I go
-
and see people, you know, in the whole specialist thying,
-
They're like, oh you go cut no, no, cut uh
-
And I don't know why. I you know, we were
-
rushing over. We're not rushing. I now my number and normal,
-
I'll do that la, I thought. I just gave her
-
this cut loud because it's more convenient. I took the
-
cart out and I passed to her and she saw
-
it and she read but Bohan Cabon has Timothy, and
-
she madiately asked especial needs. I'm like yeah, And she
-
started asking a lot of questions though how much is
-
the assessment and that I'm like, oh no, when you
-
you know, we got.
-
To librate and I explained.
-
Then after that, after a while I kind of asked her, like, actually,
-
whyre you're asking all this question and then she said, oh, of course,
-
my eldest son is special needs and I'm looking for
-
help and I'm like, I'm still stressed out, our guys,
-
I don't I don't give this car to anybody. It
-
was actually, sorry, my bad. The first time I actually
-
if someone discard. The second time I gave to definitely
-
just now, and the third time I'm going to give
-
to John. So I don't know, John, you go any like,
-
reach investor or you can. We're trying to raise one
-
for next day. Okay, rely on you John. Anyway, it's
-
the third person I give. We had a chat. This
-
is a testimony in making. I don't know what's going
-
to happen. She's not a believer.
-
And uh and after that, yeses with me, and I
-
remember I was still stressed out. Okay, still what more?
-
And just told me God is there. Sorry you composed myself.
-
God is there, But how stressed out you are, the
-
things are call upon him.
-
He will safe you. I think I shaid before here,
-
not on my plan, but God's plan, right if I
-
this is the same story, isn't my plan? We were
-
supposed to see.
-
The neurologists on the seven day of December and on
-
the third.
-
DAYFOI we decide where to go, and then only we
-
look for a place that was the plan got sped up.
-
Everything got sped up, everything got provided.
-
Well, has he provided financially not yet. I'm still believing
-
for that because it's going to be quite heavy. But
-
He's provided the place.
-
Isn't it interesting that in the midst of my challenge
-
there was still time to minister to someone in need?
-
Find it funny right the way God works?
-
Isn't it interesting? Isn't it so much of a coincidence?
-
Why did I take this car? I can tell you.
-
I can think about it all. I won't be a
-
fire answer. If you say, oh, did the Lord impress
-
upon your heart to know? I'm like, I just give
-
it the color first time I give someone know. And
-
then she actually stop me and say especially, And then
-
we had a conversation and then I was like wow,
-
and I'm trying and curate her and I'm like, wow,
-
the favor and in my mom thinking myself, she needs
-
Menstrie Also, she's the hit nurse of a daily ci center.
-
She was very caring, She's very kind. You know, in
-
the midst of my challenge, God still had time to
-
reach out to someone so amazing, right, Oh God, So friends,
-
first step first, don't bring your baggages to twenty twenty five.
-
