You're listening to a message to go from at church.
-
We hope this message will light up your tea.
-
My message today is called the Giver and the Gift.
-
Okay, all right, like Jack and the bean stalks on that,
-
but no, it's just the Giver and the Giver. I
-
give you pineapple because Chinese New Year wang lii one
-
lie online online. Okay, So alright, the Giver and the Gift.
-
I try my best to share this and you know
-
that you not only have fun hearing it, but also
-
receive what the word of God is encouraging us and
-
reminding us this morning.
-
Amen, Okay, I have a question for you.
-
This is my question. Don't shoot me, okay, don't school me.
-
All right? On a scale to one from one to ten,
-
how would you rate your joy of giving? Can don't
-
answer me? Just think about it? On the scale of
-
one to ten? All right? What is your How would
-
you rate your joy of giving? Are you here when
-
you give? How joyful? Like? Can I move the zebra up?
-
Or can I move the zebra down? Some? When they pay?
-
Give your offering to the LOMSI villain must learning. I
-
is learning. I must learning, all right? So can the zebra?
-
Go up or the zebra go down? Honest scale one
-
to ten. I mean, there's a question you can answer yourself.
-
How much joy do you have when it comes to giving,
-
all right, whether any form of giving, giving praise to
-
people like hey can you look great today? Are like
-
oh hey you know Christina, wow, really gorgeous? How how
-
how how is.
-
Your joy rating? How do you give to the Lord?
-
Also you're offering or your gifts whatever, How do you
-
give in any form your gifts? How do you rate
-
your joy? Are you very happy when you give? Or
-
you're very said you have to party my money, you
-
have to buy the give okay, So when you're zebra
-
go down, go up? There's a question some people were
-
very happy to give or no very happy or anything.
-
Praise was so very good, gifts are so very good
-
when give lots of hahaha, give u they say in Africa,
-
I don't know. In Nigeria, the churches, uh, one of
-
my friends was ministering them and then there was offering time.
-
So if they were to rate the joy of giving,
-
they dance out and give the gift very happy, you know,
-
very cheerful. What does does does come out give you?
-
Does does go back. So he said, oh wow, they're
-
offering time is so fun. So rate yourself. How do
-
you feel you cry when you give crack? You so
-
thankful Jesus, you bless me?
-
Or you cry your bad money? All right?
-
So I don't know. I think I think only you
-
will know. When is your joy level? Okay, joy level?
-
All right?
-
In giving good?
-
To ask ourselves this question because I want to give
-
us four points today and we'll just chat about it
-
and share about it, encourage us. When I was about
-
when I was about sixteen or seventeen, I just become
-
a Christian and I was in I joined the church
-
and my sell group leader was asking all of us,
-
so would you rather be a rich person or would
-
you just be not a rich person? And then I
-
think my naive self or I just became a girl,
-
so young believer, and I said to him, I said,
-
I neither want to be rich, and neither do I
-
want to be not rich. I want because I'm in
-
Jesus sixteen years old, I can have everything in him,
-
so that if I needed money, I would just have
-
to ask the Lord. If I didn't have something, I
-
would just have to ask the lot. And if he
-
promised that you know, he will meet every need.
-
He will.
-
You know. He says that whatever we ask of the lot,
-
he will do it for us because he wants our
-
joy to be full. I think it's in John chapter fifteen.
-
So I said my answer that I don't know whether
-
he shook his head or he's like, well done.
-
I don't know.
-
I am now in my fifties, and I'm thinking he
-
said a good answer. I think it's a good answer.
-
We don't have to be here or there. God will
-
give you if you're here, great, if we're here, wherever
-
we're at.
-
I think more importantly is who's your source? Amen? He
-
and we just read some twenty three.
-
The Lord is my shepherd, and I shall not want Wow,
-
there's never going to be a lack, but we need
-
to do the hot miles sometimes to go through that
-
to understand what it is to trust the Lord. And
-
I think I shared with you before when I first
-
married Kenneth Chin and after all the vowels, you know,
-
for Richard, for Bura, and I looked at like, I
-
don't know what I'm going to have. Cannot tell mother
-
how much he's earning five hundred dollars eight hundred ringate
-
from the church. He's full time. And then I like,
-
I want to pay a shoe no shoe breaking already,
-
you know, cannot buy because I worked and all the
-
salary went into I worked as a teacher then, and
-
then I gave up my corporate work for as a teacher.
-
He did not have a salary. He was living by faith.
-
I'd never seen there. What teaching is it? Lived by faith? Brother,
-
I'm so new. I won't take a serun anyway. It
-
was no salary because we're running out, you know, a
-
ya on our own. And but God met him. He
-
read so many facebooks. He his hero was George Mueller,
-
and he said, you know, when you pray, God will
-
provide whoa And.
-
I saw that.
-
And for thirty years that were married, I never asked
-
him how he gets his money. I hope he didn't
-
rob anybody. Love. I just hope he didn't I steal somewhere.
-
But for thirty years we never argue about money because
-
money is not the main topic Jesus is. So if
-
he doesn't have sometimes I offer you want me to
-
help you, like I really read here, you know, But
-
being the man in the house, he always wants to
-
pay the bills, so you payer, I take care of
-
certain bills, and he'll always take care of me and
-
make sure we have whatever. And he asked a lot,
-
and for thirty years I've seen that of him. But
-
we had to do the hart miles, as I said,
-
and from the past sharing to learn to trust a lot,
-
from trusting a love for patrol, from trusting the lot
-
for pairshoe, from trusting the lot to fly. You know
-
that we needed etiquettes to fly to see my grandmother.
-
But that was my husband's faith, which.
-
I don't bug.
-
For a while, I borrowed his faith for a while,
-
and then later I developed my own faith to live
-
by faith.
-
And that's in the world of God.
-
The just shall live by faith in Romans chapter one,
-
and that's taken from the Old Testament.
-
The Josh shall.
-
Live by faith and our church and never thought taught
-
us that missionaries used to teach us that we're talking
-
about that This man, Kenna Chaine lives it every day.
-
I really don't know how, but God provides somehow it
-
comes and and he will tell me. He doesn't tell
-
me how he gets the funds. I hear it from
-
the here the message you and you hear it. I
-
hate for the first time. So he's he is a
-
very quiet person at home. He doesn't, you know, tell
-
me this.
-
He talks.
-
We talk, but his faith journey, sometimes he really walks
-
it and then I hear it.
-
Sometimes he shares.
-
Sometimes I find out cute and I'm like, oh, Or
-
if you're thinking about something and we're walking somewhere together,
-
shopping or walking the park or something, all I'm talking awaiting.
-
He's listening to me.
-
Actually he's talking to Jesus God. Damnn, I hear the message, right.
-
I know he was not listening to me. He was
-
talking to Jesus, Jesus, you know, and telling Jesus what
-
his needs were. And the Lord meets him at every need,
-
whether it's a he really walks my faith, you know,
-
believing for every provision when he when he's when we
-
say he's a county is almost three dollars forty two cents,
-
it's true, and it's true, and it's true.
-
If I have a.
-
Country forty two I cry. Okay, and it happened to
-
me once and once. I'm very careful, but I grew up.
-
Our family was well, okay, we just lost everything, so
-
everything is you know, we work very hard. So in
-
street doors forty two cents, I don't know what to do.
-
Three forty two cents. You pray. You don't show me
-
his face. You pray like, oh how, But the Lord
-
takes us to the lessons of trusting him. And I
-
have to say, not just because I'm a full time worker.
-
We've left all things and is just the work for
-
the church. But he's working for the Lord. The Lord
-
does meet every need. And God has bless us to
-
other people. God actually uses people, his children to bless us.
-
And God uses me to bless other people, whether I
-
give in financial or give a form of gize, whether
-
I'm there for that person, whether we're driving all the way.
-
We give this.
-
God uses each other. When we say pray that the
-
Lord provides friends. I always pray the Lord provide from
-
the sky. Please don't need to ask any auntie, uncle,
-
brother's sister. But the Lord, we'll touch a man and
-
a woman's heart. He still uses a man and a
-
woman to help us.
-
I don't know how.
-
But then they say, hey, we've just banged this in
-
for you, or we heard from the Lord to give
-
you this just like how we bought our house. No,
-
I had no part in this house thing for me.
-
He's okay, it can run forever. Okay, my husband and
-
I say, we can rent forever. It's all right once,
-
it's all right. But God said, no, we want you
-
to have a house. And some Auntie, you know, ittio
-
Auntie prays and remembers past the chin and says, pass
-
the chin. Here's the ninety thousand for down payment, exact
-
amount to put the down payment for the house. So
-
people go at your house, are you are you taking
-
money her church? No, came from this etheo Auntie who
-
just prayed, and the Lord said, give us the chin,
-
and she gives Puss the chin. And of course he
-
cries one hundred times a thousand times because we would
-
never be able to purchase any house with what we have.
-
But God knows what he wants you to have for
-
testimony and to glorify his name. And again I think
-
Bassa shared his message on the renovations. I didn't even
-
know where the money came from. I don't want to
-
ask waste my time. So just like whatever Jesus help you,
-
I'm like a very simple Anything goes. And then God
-
provides and comes to suppos it constantly experiences this grace
-
of God. But he also gives. Even when he doesn't have,
-
he still gives what he has.
-
Very generous. I have to say, he's very generous. He
-
doesn't have. I supposed to provide.
-
For my parents, but he constantly gives mine. My dad
-
was a life pocket money. He never tells me, so
-
I'll give my parents. But he also thought something, you
-
don't have any money.
-
But every time blessed he gives, come, he goes, it comes, goes.
-
I don't say that the giver is you and us,
-
and the gift is from us, from the Lord who
-
gives to us to give.
-
So he goes this way and the word of God
-
tells us.
-
According to Paul, we all share in each other's giving
-
and receiving. That's the economy of God's kingdom. So even
-
when we pray, we all got too much pray something
-
to say, oh yeah, go drop fall down from the sky.
-
Now he uses, I mean, it could be a monkey
-
checking the tree down. But you know, seldom it's a monkey.
-
But it could be someone coming and just putting an
-
envelope under your door, or you put it into your
-
hand God uses people. Oh God, God has done that.
-
So my this is not just for full time workers.
-
This is for all of us and God. According to
-
Deuterondo Mey chapter six, he does give you power to
-
make wealth. He does. There are people in this room
-
who just have God's anointing to do well in your business.
-
You see it, and you just do well because there's
-
anointing on that.
-
Some I can't do business. I ran a cafe.
-
We lost money because we give the students free for everything.
-
I take them out to my husband. You cannot do business.
-
You cannot.
-
You're too kind.
-
You're too kind.
-
You cannot. You cannot because there has a mind of
-
a passing.
-
He's egg, He's everything for free, charge everything all my
-
shepherd's buy all for cheap. You know. My get a
-
cup editing machting the student and I pay you what.
-
But but some people just have that calling to make wealth.
-
Take it. Guess God's annointing on you. Others will have
-
other other kinds of ability.
-
Amen. So it's for all of us.
-
Really live by faith, so that the giver experiences the
-
grace of God. That you may give a gift that
-
is also by the grace of God.
-
Amen.
-
We cannot live our Christian life without experiencing this part
-
of our walk with Jesus. Can God touch your money?
-
And you have to answer that question, I you and
-
all believers of Christ. Can God touch your money, your finances?
-
I don't have, I don't give, I don't know. You
-
have to read God's word. And we've heard so many
-
times scriptures have said the widow last week eating puzzles,
-
which week pass the which there was no more flower
-
and no more oil, and she said, or make my
-
last way, and then I'm going to die. But yet
-
Elijah or Elijah said, can you please make me a
-
guay first and let me eat what the terrible men?
-
But she made it and then her flower bien never
-
went dry in the time of the drought.
-
And after that, yeah, set fish. She was back into business.
-
Right. So living my face really is for all of
-
us being just the call ones of the Lord to
-
having the ability to participate in being the giver and
-
also the one who has the gift to give.
-
Amen.
-
So my first point for us is every time you give,
-
it is an act of faith.
-
Amen.
-
Every time you give, I'm learning over and over again,
-
every time I want to give something, it could be
-
any kind of any form of giving has to be
-
done by faith. Why because I said it the other
-
week before, and I preach without faith. It is impossible
-
too please God. You can't. You can't please God. There
-
are some things, there's just this one thing. You want
-
to please God. You gotta do anything by faith. Even
-
if I want to preach today, I have to do
-
it by faith. I cannot take it for granted that
-
I got it. I don't. I'm studying.
-
I have to do it by faith. I have to
-
because I want to please Him.
-
For he who comes to God he Brews eleven six,
-
he comes to God mass believe in these two things.
-
Number one that he is and not that he was.
-
He is, And number two, he is a rewarder of
-
them who diligently seek him. God rewards you when you
-
believe that he is, And if you diligently seek him,
-
he is your reward. Two things that you experience. And
-
he says, I am pleased when you come by faith.
-
And anything done in our own strength will not be faith.
-
Anything done by faith. So what a reminder in man
-
church for all of us by faith? Want to lead
-
worship by faith? I want to study by faith. Want
-
to make a kick every time I make a kid
-
because I bake it and don't bake it, and forgot
-
how even this Chinese be here. Once n I'll make
-
my bigon grable. But every year I learn it all
-
over again. Why because January in the next January, I
-
forgot the taste. And yet, oh my goodness, this family
-
that has been coming from fifteen years, the children have
-
grown out, gotten married.
-
They all want to come back to my house.
-
So I have to cook it. I cook something else Laksa, No,
-
cannot why I want that one? So you know it
-
takes faith to do something that will please God. I'm
-
learning again and again that you want to please God,
-
we have to act out of faith.
-
Amen.
-
You know it took a big step of the faith,
-
the faith that God had. In next night, our God
-
gave us unconditionally his son Ah to bridge the gap
-
between him and fallen man. It cost him his life.
-
None of us have given our lives for anything for
-
the Lord.
-
Nothing.
-
We've given strength, but we've not shed blood. But God
-
has shed blood. He gave us the first one to
-
show us generosity and just to give was his only son.
-
All of you who have children. You know that you
-
only have one son, and you want to let go
-
of your one son, one daughter, one.
-
Child that you have is very hard.
-
Even though that child can give you a heartache, it
-
is still your child. You will not give up your child.
-
But God had to give up his son so that
-
only the perfect son could complete the race for us
-
that you and I today, as we partic of communion,
-
we have this assurance that we are reconciled to the Lord,
-
and we stand forgiven before the Lord and before one
-
another as we partake to forgive one another as God
-
has forgiven us. Amen, hallelujah. Are you grateful for that?
-
Amen?
-
Was too quiet here? Oh yeah, I cannot look quiet
-
and it makes some noise like fireworks.
-
Boom boom boom. All right. Our God gave us so
-
unconditionally loved us, do you know? And Jesus came.
-
He had to take a chance. He doesn't know whether
-
man will accept him. He doesn't know if Grace will
-
accept him. He doesn't know if common will accept him.
-
He doesn't know you know that any of us would
-
accept himTo He didn't know, but he believed in you.
-
I was not a believer always I rejected Christ. He
-
took a chance on me. You know, if Stephen would
-
receive you don't know, Grace would belim Clarisa, would you
-
receive him? But he took a chance. He said, no,
-
I love the world that I would give my only son.
-
And in that, while we were yet sinners Romans eight five,
-
he died for us.
-
He gave. So this DNA is eat us.
-
Amen.
-
We are made in God's image.
-
We have the DNA of God. That's God's heart. He gives.
-
He gives.
-
Really, so we have that DNA. We're made in the
-
image of God. And God's heart towards each of us
-
is He's.
-
So generous with us.
-
He loves us unconditionally, He's patient, conditionally. Every day I
-
get out here, I say, Jesus, I am so grateful
-
that you are merciful to me. I'm so grateful that
-
you love me even when I failed you, or when
-
I'm so naughty and I'm so bad, and yet you're
-
patiently saying to me, come, I'm your God. I will
-
transform your life. Yes, Lord, but I failed yesterday. I'm
-
so grateful to his generous heart that is our DNA.
-
And then that's why all of you have that generosity
-
in your heart.
-
Just said.
-
Sometimes we experience different things that by people who have
-
hurt you or disappointed that makes you then shrink back.
-
But when we deal with God in all things, we
-
want to please him.
-
Amen.
-
So this is the first point of every act of
-
giving that you do. Let it be an act of faith.
-
Don't let it be just out of fear, out of disappointment.
-
Therefore don't or therefore yes, I'll do it. No I won't,
-
But I want to please God. Amen, believing that He rewards,
-
Believing that He is and present with us in all
-
that we do. Because friends, God has given you the
-
jobs that He's given you, the abilities, the creativity to
-
make wealth, to earn, to be able to have. And
-
this is your blood and sweat.
-
Don't comment when you work. He's blood and swet.
-
I know blood and sweat. Oh, Clari's so blood and sweet.
-
So God knows this is your life when you give.
-
It's your life. We work, we give our lives, we
-
sweat for it, we work hard, we go not I
-
sleep from boss everything.
-
It's then we bring home this.
-
We have to do it by faith. Otherwise left right center,
-
you get disappointed and we want to say Lord, I
-
want to please you, Amen. And so we capture God's
-
heart who gave us first that we have his dna.
-
Amen.
-
And so we want to know how God loves, and
-
so we want to love back the same way as
-
we learn in our faith steps. Amen. So number one,
-
it's always when you give the giver, it's always an
-
act of faith. Your gift will be a faith gift
-
at all times.
-
Amen.
-
Number two, you know, all of the things that God
-
hopes to develop and wants to be with us is
-
our intimacy with God. Wow. To grow close to God.
-
To intimacy means he's He's not just a God that
-
is far off and you're waiting for him to hit
-
you on the head because you didn't do it.
-
That is not our God.
-
That is our teacher, but not God. That maybe your mother,
-
but not God. My mom's like, you didn't do that.
-
So we got this.
-
You know, God is gonna hit me, not our father God.
-
He wants to draw us cords of loving kindness, to
-
know his kindness and his generous heart. So when we
-
are given the opportunity to learn about you know, giving
-
as God has given to us, it brings us a
-
place of drawing.
-
Close to come close to God's heart.
-
And so we have this.
-
I've chosen this verse.
-
Second Corinthians, Chapter eight, verse one to seven. Second Corinthians,
-
Chapter eight, Verse one to seven. What does it mean
-
by what you mean by intimacy with God? And I
-
drew that out of this scripture because it brings us
-
to this place of a relationship with Him.
-
Amen.
-
So I'm gonna read this for you now, Second Corinthians.
-
This is the church in Corinth. Corinth is a city,
-
a busy.
-
Business.
-
It's busy, it's a port city. Businesses are happening, everything
-
is booming. And Paul was speaking to the church that
-
was planted in Corinth. I'm trying to recall whether he planted.
-
Anyone knows he planted Corinth or not, or someone else planted.
-
But he was. He always came because church planting was
-
part of what he did, right, So he would preach.
-
And the Church of Corinth, one of the earlier churches,
-
was going through some funny stuff. Yeah, as God was transforming,
-
then they were behaving funny, and so Paul had to
-
write these letters to encourage them, to teach them, and
-
then he was reminding them. In chapter eight because he
-
wanted to remind them about their gift. And he brought
-
the story actually of how the Macedonian church was helping
-
who was a much poorer church, not a busy city,
-
was really out back.
-
So anyway, let's read this. If you have your bibles.
-
Turned to Second Corinthians, chapter eight and verse one, and
-
we'll read that all the way verse six or seven. Okay,
-
here we go, So Paul writes to the church in Kornaces. Moreover,
-
brethren and sister, and okay, we make known to you
-
the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia,
-
and that in a great trial of affliction, the abundance
-
of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in.
-
The richest of their liberality. Reading from the NKJV.
-
For I bear witness that according to their ability, yes,
-
and beyond their ability, they were freely willing, imploring us
-
with much urgency that we should receive the gift and
-
the fellowship of the ministring.
-
To the saints.
-
And not only as we had hope, but they first
-
gave themselves to the Lord and then to us by
-
the will of God verse five. And not only as
-
we had hope, but they read it first gave themselves
-
to the Lord and then to us by the will
-
of God. So we urged Titus as he had begun,
-
so he would also complete this grace in you as well.
-
But as you abound in everything, in faith, in speech,
-
in knowledge, in all diligence, in your love for us,
-
see that you also abound in disgrace.
-
Also.
-
What is disgrace is the grace of generosity, or the
-
grace of giving. So I wonna this is the NKJBB
-
hard to understand.
-
I want to read you from JB. Phillips.
-
All right, So JB. Phillips is a pair of phrase.
-
It's very old book.
-
JV. Phillips. Pick it up the dirt, all right, all right,
-
So this is what reads in JB.
-
Phillips. He says, ever got the right one, got the
-
right one?
-
Yes. Now, my brothers, we must tell you about the
-
grace that God has given to the Macedonian churches. Somehow,
-
in most difficult circumstances, their joy and the fact of
-
being down to their last penny themselves produce a magnificent
-
concern for other people. I can guarantee that they will
-
that they were willing to give to the limit of
-
their means, yes, and beyond their means, without the lighters
-
urging for from me or anyone else.
-
It means nobody had to force them.
-
In fact, they simply begged us to accept their gifts
-
and so let them share the honor of supporting their
-
brothers in Christ. Now, nor was their gift, as I
-
must confess, I had expected a mere cash payment. Instead,
-
they made a complete dedication of themselves, first to the
-
Lord and then to us as God's appointed ministers. So
-
now this has made us us Titus, who has already
-
done so much among you, to complete his task by
-
arranging for you too to share at this work of generosity.
-
Already you are well to the fore in every good quality.
-
You have faith.
-
You can express that faith in words. You have knowledge, enthusiasm,
-
and your love for us. Would you not add generosity
-
to your virtues?
-
All right? And this is a slightly paraphrased by JB.
-
Phillips. And this was this is where I bring in
-
the intimacy with God. Paul was reminding the church in
-
Korinth that if you read the whole thing, a year ago,
-
they promised that they want to give a gift to
-
help the persecuted church in Jerusalem, and then I think
-
they forgot along the way. And then Paul was reminded
-
when the Macedonian churches now Macedonia themselves were going through
-
tremendous persecution. They were not rich. But when Paul went,
-
they said, Paul, please take our gift for the brothers
-
in Jerusalem. We hear that they are they are lack,
-
they are in persecution. And when Paul had that, he
-
shared this testimony with the Krinth Church to remind them, Hey,
-
that one year ago you.
-
Wanted to take this gift.
-
But I think along the way things got funny in
-
the church and they Forgod. So Paul was just reminding by,
-
like what Paul is writing here to the church in Corin,
-
what is drawing me out to the point of intimacy
-
with God? Is this? Is that very verse five in
-
the next light is that they first gave themselves to
-
the Lord and then to the apostles to say, hey,
-
we want to give you this.
-
Funds.
-
So intimacy with God is this. They first gave themselves
-
to the Lord in all that we do. Do you
-
think God actually is talking about just your money? No?
-
I think we are most of us will know He's
-
never about the money. He's about the heart. They gave themselves.
-
They didn't give them money to the Lord. They gave themselves.
-
They drew near to go God. They leaned on the Lord.
-
They committed themselves to the Lord, and then they heard
-
from the Lord. And then they gave out of their leg.
-
Out of their leg. But why because they grew close
-
to the Lord, they constantly had to ask the Lord.
-
They draw near to Jesus even to hear.
-
So it wasn't compelled by someone. It's my policy.
-
I couldn't have forced you. But you were crying, you know,
-
to give the money. And I've seen people are millionaires.
-
At least one I know was when he came to
-
a minister of God right here in Malaysia and said,
-
we want to give you this money to do the ministry.
-
And the pastor said, I'm not taking your money.
-
God said no. And he cried.
-
He said, why don't God accept my money? He said,
-
I don't know. God said not to take your money.
-
The person cried, so not every time you offered me
-
take love. I don't know why I didn't take the money.
-
I don't know. I heard the testimony, like you cried
-
say no, please take kids for the work of the Lord. No,
-
the Lord said not to take your money. You better
-
ask the Lord. So they are crying, you know, please
-
take our money to the church in Jerusalem. Please fall.
-
And Paul's like, but you are in lag don't you
-
don't have enough? No, we gave ourselves first to the Lord,
-
and the Lord has moved us to give this gift.
-
Your intimacy, yours and mine. We all build a closeness
-
with the Lord, a walk of love with the Lord. Intimacy. Amen,
-
the word intimate, guys, you know it's intimate. Some God
-
in tim the Alumbasa, Indonesia in dim right, so close,
-
we're so deep.
-
We know we're fool.
-
We are soffused with the Lord that we hear from
-
the Lord. We're not. God wasn't asking for their money.
-
God was asking for their hearts. So that when we Lord,
-
I give you my heart, then anything else you can touch. Lord?
-
Is it my job? Is it? My child? Is it?
-
My business?
-
Is it? You know?
-
My relationship?
-
Is it? This? Is it?
-
Whatever my funds?
-
How so I want to say number one, we have
-
take an act of faith every time it comes to
-
anything in our lives. But Even so, with our giving
-
as the giver by act of faith, whatever we want
-
to do by faith. Number two, this ability to wanting
-
to give has to be done out of an intimate
-
relationship we've got. And God draws us to him when
-
we have a need, draw near to the Lord. Ask
-
him first, Ask the Lord first. And you might say,
-
but how if I don't hear from the Lord?
-
Friends?
-
The Bible tells us in John chapter ten, my sheep
-
hear my voice. Do we have sheep in the house?
-
Are you got sheep? Then you have to hear God's war.
-
Please don't dell me. You hear the demon's voice, because
-
who are you hanging out with? You are God's sheep.
-
You have to hear the shepherd's voice. Oh but you
-
can't recognize it. Get used to it. No it's not
-
mad blah blah blah blah ba.
-
But no, no, no, no, no.
-
God's voice like the shepherd. He calls to you, and
-
he speaks to our hearts. But he speaks to you
-
and me in different ways. I get pictures, God drops
-
names in my heart. I just had a text two
-
days ago. I said about this brother who has gone
-
off to do a different ministry.
-
I said, where is Jeff? I've not heard from him.
-
Every year he will ask me can we come for anniversary?
-
And I say, please come. You're part of EGS, but
-
you had to do another ministry no sound, and I'm
-
going to text him. I'm just gonna text h me
-
yesterday to say how you doing. His wife just texted
-
me and said, Jeff, he's in hospital emergency. His oxygen
-
level is dropping. She said, please pray. I said, what
-
happened to Jeff? I just had too many bad news
-
this whole week. I have four three four funerals to handle.
-
But that's how God drops. He gives me names. He
-
speaks to me. I don't know what it is.
-
I will call that person, going to say why you're
-
calling me?
-
Buster? Oh?
-
When I say can I meet you? Why are you
-
meeting me?
-
Past? What did I do?
-
I do something wrong?
-
Hello? I meet you, Not that you do something wrong.
-
I just want a fellowship with you. Hah. So I say,
-
your person a fellowship with you? So you're so scared?
-
What what? Hello? Don't alienate me? So God speaks to
-
you in different ways son that God says give give
-
how much? And say give you just brain you give,
-
how generous you want to give? So God speaks to you,
-
he says, my sheep hear my voice. I trust that
-
there are sheep in this room, not goats. Who keeps saying,
-
So I trust, I entrust you, and I want to
-
encourage you, the sheep of God hear his voice. Build
-
the intimacy relationship with the Lord.
-
Amen.
-
So therefore I ask you a question. You can answer
-
this on your own.
-
What does it mean to you? Okay?
-
What does it mean to give yourself first to the Lord?
-
What does it mean? I can't answer that question for you.
-
You have to answer this question. What does it mean
-
to you? And are you going to take action for this?
-
Or when you have done, what did you do?
-
What does it mean to you? Right to give yourself
-
first to the Lord. So you have to think, when
-
I give myself first to the Lord? What do I do? Right?
-
Another question?
-
When is it easier to give yourself to the Lord
-
during good times when you have plenty or during times
-
of less than plenty. When is it easier to give
-
yourself to the Lord? Think about it. I don't have
-
the answer for you because it's you. What does it
-
mean to give yourself first?
-
To the Lord. What do you what are the actions?
-
How do you show that you give yourself first to
-
the Lord? What is that that you do.
-
For me? If I want to give myself first and
-
I've consecrated my life to the Lord already, I can't
-
do my life anything I want, I don't. And I'm
-
still a work in progress because sometimes stay wrong thing.
-
But I have to give myself first the Lot.
-
My mornings, I do my best to wake up.
-
I must sleep early, how and the first thing is
-
to be with Jesus first and then only do other things.
-
But some days the work is crying out.
-
I'm like Jesus, sorry, fifteen minutes okay, But because of
-
God we cannot see.
-
We don't think in matters. But he is a god
-
that sees.
-
He does see. Even if it's your fifteen minute, an
-
hour and always minimum for us past it takes two
-
hours or more. I'm just saying, what does it mean
-
for you to give yourself first to the Lord?
-
What does it look like? Is it putting us like time?
-
Is it your money? Is it your business? How do
-
you know some people got business? They always say, can
-
we dedicate our business to the Lot so that he's
-
my business partner, and they dedicate their business so that
-
whatever happens to that business, the Lord is my partner.
-
He will tell me how I should run that business,
-
how should I give the profits away or invest whatever?
-
And when is it easier to give yourself to the Lord.
-
When is it during the times of plenty or during
-
times of less? You know, Like I said to my
-
CG leader, I don't really think I need to be rich.
-
I just need to be with Jesus that if I
-
have a need, I need to ask. I need to
-
be patient that he will answer, because he's my daddy. God,
-
my God is not just a god of fire. I'm
-
afraid he's my dad. He's my dad, my father in heaven.
-
He has to come through for me.
-
Amen. He just has to.
-
He just has to. I have.
-
We have a church member.
-
She lost her dad, she lost her mom, and she
-
told me past time and often.
-
Now, okay, are you will care for you? She said,
-
because I'm an often God has to take care of me.
-
And she.
-
She said, God, there, okay, I believe you.
-
And I have to say a single woman she has
-
gone off to the UK. She's a nurse there and
-
now she's going to get married. God provided her life partner.
-
How he ran about it, not in my agreement love,
-
but never mind, God provided for her.
-
So she had a faith that God will take care
-
of me.
-
I'm an orphan, and the Bible says look after the
-
widows and the often whom it's nobody else. She don't
-
have brother's sister, not many auntie uncles. We helped turned
-
the time of need as a church. But now she's
-
on her own. How she said, God has to take
-
care of me, and he did. She's not in lack,
-
she is blessed. And she tells me what happens to her.
-
She's not here, she's away.
-
But that's our God.
-
Right.
-
Your intimacy of faith? You believe?
-
What do you? How do you? What does it look
-
like when you walk with Jesus, guys, brothers, sisters?
-
How it's not a theme? Guy? You know it's a theme?
-
Young?
-
Yes?
-
So hunger? How? No?
-
Why walk with him? Amen?
-
I I speak that not.
-
Because I have all experienced.
-
I'm still experiencing God's goodness, God's teaching, God's leading. So
-
I also need to grow in my intimacy with God.
-
Every time you lean on him, you grow a little
-
closer to the Lord. Amen, How does God speak?
-
I want to assure you if you are God sheep,
-
he speaks to you. Are you listening? That's all all right.
-
Just make sure you're in the right pasture, eating the
-
right place. Don't go somewhere else. Then you can on
-
your way way. I can you your wrong pasture. Eat here.
-
God's leading you here, not doing everywhere else. He leads
-
us by the green pastures. Make you lie down in
-
still waters. He's a good shepherd.
-
Amen.
-
So Number one, every act we do, act of faith,
-
take it by faith. Number two, we build intimacy, it grow.
-
God wants to grow. God wants us to come close
-
to him, to know him so close. It's like an
-
act of marriage when husband and wife come together. That's intimate.
-
God's relationship with us is how close He's in our
-
face all the time. All the time, he's in your face.
-
Even you didn't brush your teeth, he will love you.
-
I cannot take my husband in my face, like please
-
brush your teeth, get out. But but God takes us
-
as we are Jesus, take me as I am.
-
As I am. Amen.
-
Number two, all right. Number three, growing in the likeness
-
of Christ. Amen. This whole act of walking by faith,
-
growing in intimacy of Christ is so that we can
-
grow into the likeness of Christ. Amen.
-
Right, Why do I say that the giver and your gift?
-
Right?
-
The story about the giver and your gift?
-
Well, the giver can only learn from someone he has
-
known how to give. And God is our giver, who
-
has first given us. And so we learn from the
-
Lord we wanted. At the end of the day, friend
-
before God. In our conversations, I had a harddle meeting.
-
In that conversation I could tell where everybody was. Was
-
anyone telling me they want to be more like Jesus?
-
Not I want to be these that I want to
-
hear about. How can I be more like Jesus? That
-
is the whole gold, friends of your work in Christ.
-
Why we do by faith? Why we grow intimate so
-
that God transformers to be more like Jesus. You know,
-
the second coming of the Lord. When Christ comes, he
-
ain't looking funny call or Cynthia. He's looking for his son.
-
Can I see Jesus in you? Can you see Jesus
-
in me? I'm telling you we do all our face
-
lift and eye lift. He ain't looking for that he's
-
looking for his son. Can I all I see see,
-
all God sees in all of us today right now,
-
is the blood of Jesus. That's why you can come
-
boldly to the throne room of grace and say, Lord
-
of Mercy, he sees the blood, he sees the blood.
-
He sees the blood.
-
The devil, on the other hand, will accuse us and say,
-
did you see Rita? No, God says, I see Jesus.
-
The blood of my son is on her life. But
-
did you know what she did last summer? I don't care.
-
It's over.
-
You seek his forgiveness. He's for you, stand forgiven because
-
of what Christ did.
-
So we are to grow in the likeness of Christ. Amen.
-
So Paul, So what are some things?
-
Are you?
-
The Bible so full of all that God wants for us?
-
Right? I only can choose a few guys a short time,
-
have to talk too long, cannot got lunch, got family lunch? Okay.
-
Second Corinthians, chapter eight, the same verse we're reading seven
-
to nine.
-
I read that with you just now, and Paul was urging.
-
So more like verse nine moverse seventh verse where I
-
read with you just now, where it says that Paul
-
was urging them, would you abound so I have that
-
in another slightly says Paul was encouraging the believers in
-
Koran to not only that means that, to add on,
-
not only are you great in your faith? Because the
-
Corinthian Church, the krinth Church, the Corinthians grew amazingly fast.
-
They caught on the faith, they loved God. But then
-
somehow they're gonna trip, and then they were falling. So polsays, hey,
-
don't just abound in your faith and your speech. They
-
could speak words of faith, in your knowledge of God,
-
and your enthusiasm.
-
And your love.
-
He says, great, great, great, great, But now add on
-
this virtue, this grace, the word gracier, the grace of generosity,
-
the grace of giving. Pulses at this on complete the picture.
-
Because our father, he is a giver.
-
He has given us so much. Amen.
-
So what is the likeness of Christ? Christ himself came
-
and gave us. You know, there's a verse where okay,
-
let's look at X twenty thirty five X chapter twenty
-
and verse thirty and verse thirty five.
-
You you know, I used to wonder why.
-
People always say this is worse? And then and then
-
I found it, and I was like, yay, what does
-
Jesus say X twenty and verse twenty five.
-
Thirty five?
-
All right, this is Luke, doctor Luke is writing, he says,
-
And here here it is X twenty. It's written by
-
the by Luke, doctor Luke. He says, I've shown you
-
in every way by laboring like this, that you must
-
support the weak and remember the words of the Lord
-
Jesus that he said it is more blessed to give
-
than to receive.
-
If you thought where this is where there's a verse here?
-
Okay, it's red color in my Bible, he says, Jesus
-
said it is more blessed to give than to receive.
-
Then I searched and said, where did the verse come from?
-
Give it to me in the Gospels. It's not directly
-
written in the Gospels.
-
That Jesus said.
-
Well, again, a lot of things Jesus said not written.
-
If you're written, we cannot finish reading John twenty one,
-
twenty five.
-
Okay, it cannot exaist.
-
It's so much, Jesus said, doane cannot write, cannot contain
-
in the books. But we can make an inference through
-
the teachings of Christ. So he says, it's more blessed
-
to give than to receive. When Christ walked on the earth,
-
many times you would have seen him giving, teaching, providing
-
while others provided for him.
-
He also provided for his disciples. He gave, He gave,
-
not only gave their physically, He gave physically. Not what
-
I mean is for money.
-
Along he said, pay the Texes. Here's the money from
-
the fish mouth. How nice you go fishing? You catch
-
the fish one gold coin? Come out, pay your tax. Okay,
-
LHDN here's the money. But here's my text. You know,
-
the Lord provided, he blessed, He bless people were healing.
-
And you know that the Lord moved. He came to serve,
-
not to be served. He gave himself. He came to
-
serve amongst the people. So this verse, this line probably
-
was in action what you see in the gospels.
-
Amen.
-
So if we look at Luke six, Luke six and
-
verse thirty, Luke six and verse thirty. If you have
-
your bibles, oh we miss hearing the flipping of pages
-
lick Luke six and verse thirty to thirty one.
-
So here Jesus is speaking to this to his to
-
all the.
-
People who came to listen to him, and he was
-
talking to the multitudes and talking about loving your enemies,
-
law and this and that.
-
So he says, give to everyone who asks of you
-
Verse thirty.
-
Give to everyone who asks of you, and from him
-
who takes away your goods, don't ask them back. Okay,
-
Give to everyone who asks of you, and from him
-
who takes away your goods, and don't ask them back. Oh, Parney,
-
he took your favorite part, okay, and don't give you back. Emily,
-
I ain't gonna share my legrasy pot. But if God
-
say give it, I am to give me all right.
-
And just as you want men to do to you,
-
you also do to them Likewise, this is called the
-
golden rule. Do unto others as you want others to
-
do to you. I was wondering where was this verse
-
is here? This is the golden rule. Whatever how you
-
treat people, treat you know you want people treat you well.
-
Treat people well. You don't be rude, So people don't
-
be rude to you. And you can't help it if
-
they are rude to you, Bless them. Oh it's so hard, right,
-
But he's Jesus saying that that is blessed, more blessed
-
to give than to receive. He even says in thirty four,
-
if you lend to those from whom you hope to
-
receive back, Now, what credit is credit? Is that to you?
-
For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back.
-
When Jesus gave his life, I say, while we were
-
yet sinners, he gave his life for us. He didn't
-
know if Daniel chung, who's gonna follow Christ? We probably
-
cause Jesus right, I close, Jesus don't want Jesus.
-
He took a chance. He said, I'll still love you.
-
I'll die for you.
-
He gave us, He lends his life to us, even
-
if we never receive him. Never reciprocated to the Lord
-
right verse thirty five. But love your neighbor, Love your neighbor,
-
love your end. Me is do good and lend, hoping
-
for nothing in return, and your reward will be great,
-
and you will be sons of the most High. Hard
-
bit it's a very difficult pill to swallow. Right, your
-
reward will be great, and you will you and you'll
-
be like the sons of the most High.
-
For God is kind to the unthankful, and evil. Okay,
-
how are we gonna be like Jesus?
-
Now?
-
You want to be like Jesus? Very hard?
-
Right, but yeah, that's what God wants to transform us
-
in a whole person. So many areas, but just just
-
saying on this area, like, how can I be more
-
like Christ in the way we give? He wasn't even
-
talking about money here, talking about forgiveness, talking about you know,
-
letting it go, let it go, let it go.
-
Didn't belong to frozen Jesus. Okay, this said.
-
Let me go, never mind, don't get your pot bags? Okay,
-
Emlia buy you another one, just let it go.
-
Don't hate him?
-
You know that? All right?
-
So how to be like Christ?
-
When we take a step of faith? Amen, we want
-
to believe that he is, believe that He's a reward
-
of those who seek him. We grow closer in our
-
intimate relationship than I think. We're all in a journey
-
of knowing God more, how he works, how he how
-
he believes in us, how he thinks, how he's merciful,
-
how he's gracious.
-
And I think every time when God bless us, I just.
-
Want to give myself to the Lord. Right, ayo, you
-
tell me God has blessed you so much. What do
-
you want to do? You give yourself to the Lord.
-
You serve him, you love him, you give them you don't.
-
I'm too busy.
-
Now I'm so successful.
-
A bye. Thank you Jesus. God bless me so much,
-
and I'm happy that you're blessed. You ought to be.
-
You children, you're his kid.
-
But there's the intimacy where he speaks to your heart
-
and you say, but I don't have enough. No, but
-
give what you have.
-
Sometimes a wallet of fifty and one dollar very hard
-
to give offering. No, I just give the one that
-
you understand, Red God, I need the fifty. But yet
-
I know by teaching they'rein't generous with my one dollar
-
for the lot because I don't just give to the church,
-
to the building, or you think it's going to the bastard.
-
Giving it to the Lord, regardless who you think the
-
man is, a woman is, you give it to the Lord.
-
I give it to the Lord. So my intimacy is
-
with the Lord.
-
Once it's given, you're responsible how you're going to spend it.
-
Hope we spend it right for the church. But whatever
-
the need is, so our relationship matters. Our intimacy, and
-
then how we give. We want to grow in the
-
likeness of Christ. God always believes in us. If no
-
one believes in you, Jesus this, he believe you enough
-
for you not to reject him. And we did amen
-
to be like Christ. That's what Paul is asking. This
-
is what Christ is say. Let it go, love, give,
-
don't have to ask, BacT you don't have I will provide. Right.
-
And then this thirty three thirty five following that, look
-
six thirty three thirty five. Yeah, I gave you that right,
-
and and then and then there's this thing where where
-
Jesus continues.
-
On this this the likeness is just constantly just giving to.
-
The Lord and then just loving God, giving to the Lord,
-
not to man, not to women, because we want to
-
be like Christ. It's such a heart lesson sometimes. Yeah,
-
someone someone said yesterday, it's very hard to keep up.
-
Please don't keep up. To be on fire, you shouldn't
-
be keeping up, you should be flowing.
-
Don't keep up. I have to do my quiet.
-
I have to climb up a mountain. Oh, I have
-
to be kind, I have to be faithful. Don't keep up.
-
That's not the way we do life. In Christ. We
-
flow with the Lord. You are blessed. You flow with
-
the Lord. You just you just, and some people you don't.
-
You don't even to do anything. God still bless you.
-
Love serious, then only you have to I'm so blessed,
-
I'm so blessed. So I'm so blessed.
-
Amen, we respond to the Lord. What is he saying
-
to you? You're so blessed? What is he saying to you?
-
Those questions like what does it mean to give yourself?
-
First to the Lord? Amen, what does it.
-
Look like when you're stuck between? Are you going to
-
give yourself? When you're in plenty or when you're in lack?
-
Do you still give?
-
It's not about your money or your things. It's about
-
your heart that God is after. Because when my heart
-
is in the right place, everything else flows flows, not
-
keeping up. Not climb every mountain. Now it's the sound
-
of music. Okay, don't climb every mountain. No, the sound
-
of music. This one is faith in Jesus. You get
-
to one level of faith, to another level of faith,
-
to another level of faith, until God says, come and.
-
You walk into glory. Our eternity is not earth.
-
God has a new Earth and a new Heaven for us. Amen,
-
So you had to take dominion. There's another message I say,
-
I spoke that at camp. But yeah, grow into the
-
likeness of Christ. Amen, be like Jesus. He teaching us
-
how so villain on this area even of giving. But
-
as I said, he's after our hearts.
-
All right.
-
And then lastly, number four, sewing for eternity, abounding on earth.
-
As you sow towards eternity, you will abound on earth.
-
There's just how God is you bless you as you give,
-
He blesses you, you abound on earth. Amen. So some
-
of the verses we want to look at is Matthew
-
six again Matthew six, nineteen to twenty four, nineteen to
-
twenty four?
-
Here we go? Where am I going to? Matthew six?
-
Okay twenty four? Ooh, I think it's Luke. No, yes, Matthew, correct,
-
Matthew six. I was reading opposite versus. Sorry kiss Matthew
-
six nineteen Just now I was looking at Matthew instead
-
of look. Okay Matthew six, nineteen to twenty four. All right,
-
do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth where
-
Mouth and Russ destroy and where thieves break in and steal,
-
but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither
-
moth nor Russ destroys, and where thieves do not break
-
in and steal. For where your treasure is there, your
-
heart will be also whoa. So I've read this forever,
-
but it keeps coming back, these new lessons for where
-
your treasure is there, your heart will be whoa. You
-
know when you like that guy I use a treasure.
-
Your name is ket Jin, So we're like that guy.
-
I just wanted to be where you are, all right?
-
Where your treasure is there, Your heart will be like
-
always thinking about that person, right because you are in
-
love and you want to be with I want to
-
be with you, all right. And same thing here Jesus
-
is saying where your treasure is there, your heart will
-
be if you are sewing into me and Ma, you're
-
gonna be asking me, how's the pastor doing, how's the
-
church doing?
-
Your how's the war going on? They're alive and they
-
did what's going on?
-
You are? Asked me? Because you just saught five k
-
doing two thousand there you said, we want to help
-
the orphanage there were you will be asking where your
-
treasure is you will constantly ask me how, how how
-
is my funds helping? And you will be where your
-
heart is, your treasure there, your heart will be there.
-
So Jesus, I guess he's pointing out and I'm thinking treasure, war, treasure,
-
Treasure must be something very precious. Why did Jesus say,
-
if you this, this thief wants to steal? Why do
-
thief want to steal? Still? What? Right? It has to
-
be very precious? Right, it's a treasure. It must be
-
very important. And he mentions that the thief will break
-
into your house and steal.
-
So we can invest.
-
And again, as I said, God gives you power to
-
make wealth, invest and you're really good investors. Please, I'm
-
not talking about that. I'm just saying, when we are
-
building the wealth, have we had that act of faith?
-
Number one? Have we had the intimacy with the Lord?
-
Just ask him.
-
I'm investing lot where you know, what is it that
-
you are wanting me to do with this investment? Amen?
-
While we're building on earth, because my way words is
-
so for eternity. This guy was sowing onto the earth
-
and then you only think earth. But when you sow
-
and with the mind of Christ, with the act of faith.
-
You're going to be sowing eternity. You think about this.
-
There is a bad thank in heaven called Bank of Heaven,
-
not public bank. That bank will collect your investment. And
-
how you have sown your money. You invested in lives,
-
You invested in things that will go longer and further,
-
invest build, build your wealth. But so where are you
-
sowing it into? I've asked myself where am I sowing into?
-
I'm just doing earthwork? Am doing what God wants me?
-
What is it that we're building that will be lasting forever?
-
So so into eternity. So the Lord in this verse
-
it says, you know this is but lay up for
-
yourself treasures in heaven so that nobody can rob you
-
and steal anything from you.
-
Sow into heaven.
-
Whatever you're giving, your time, your treasure, your talent, you
-
give first to the Lord.
-
That's why it's first you law, give your heart first, law.
-
Right, Then you're sewing, not just forgetting all about the
-
eternity and just doing the earth work. Then we don't
-
know where it's going to end up in. And the
-
Lord therefore reminds us that where our treasure is there,
-
our heart will.
-
Be also amen.
-
Philippians, chapter four, verse seventeen. Philippians, Chapter four, verse seventeen says,
-
see Paul was encouraging the church to give to the
-
needs of the persecuted church in Jerusalem. So this is
-
what happens in Philippians. And Paul said to them, as
-
you give, you have to read the whole thing. Then
-
you understand. You know, when you say I can do
-
all things to Christ who strengthens me, you're taking only
-
the text without the context.
-
And you think everything I can do.
-
No, you can do all things to Christ who strengthen you,
-
because the whole context is that they were giving in
-
their lack. And then he says, in Christ, I can
-
do all things to Christ who strengthens me, even with
-
the lack. And Paul say to the church, I'm not
-
asking you to give because I want your gift. Not
-
that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit
-
that abounds to your account. When we started the church
-
with threw three people, God told pass the collect and offering.
-
Pass said embarrassedly to the Lord, how can I do
-
that three people? What kind of offering? Said, don't rob
-
my people for the opportunity to see an abounding gift?
-
To their account giving.
-
And if you give with thinking that it's for because
-
you are giving to this and just no, you give
-
the gift because pauses. God wants to abound to your
-
account that you will never lack, because as you give,
-
it will come back to you. Rest down, shaken together.
-
It doesn't. It's not I give it a lot.
-
No give as the Lord puts in your heart to give,
-
so for eternity abound on earth. Live well, God's blessing
-
on your life. But he says the gift will come
-
back to you. I'm not asking you to give me,
-
and if you have to read the whole things, I
-
will work for my living. I will build tens, I
-
will do whatever I will put my hands to work.
-
I'm not asking for your gift for me. But as
-
you give to the needs of others, share out. You
-
read that in Corinthians he says that no one will
-
like The one who has more will not have too much,
-
the one who has less won't have too little.
-
But we will share.
-
Learning a lessons that we're learning right. So remember when
-
you give, don't see this. I'm giving to an.
-
Account called ex church.
-
I think if you haven't changed our minds yet, you've
-
got to allow Holy Spirit to say it's an.
-
Act the faith. I want to do it by faith. Amen.
-
I want to have that intimacy with the Lord. I'm
-
also growing in the likeness of Christ. When I give
-
God just automatic it's his blessing. As you give, it
-
will come back to you. That's all He's hard for us.
-
Amen.
-
Another verse in Proverbs eleven, like this verse Proverbs eleven
-
says to us Proverbs Chapter eleven, verse twenty four says,
-
there is one who scatters, yet increase small. There's one
-
who withholds more than is right but leads to poverty.
-
The generous soul will be made rich.
-
He who waters others will also be watered himself.
-
Amen.
-
Scripture is not me. I'm learning as well as I
-
read it. We're like WHOA, If I scatter my bread
-
to many waters, it will feed others, but I will not.
-
Have a lack.
-
The woman with two mites through in all that she had,
-
not extra all that she had. We will say, silly woman,
-
you have no food now. But I believe Jesus said
-
when she gave it would come back to her. Pressed down,
-
shaken together, running over doesn't record what happens but the
-
Lord looked at not the mound but her heart of saying,
-
that's all I have, Jesus, I give so whatever we have.
-
As a young person from a family that lost everything,
-
my church had a building fund. I wanted to give
-
to the building fund, but I had no money for
-
my parents to give. So what we do underage can't
-
work sixteen, I don't think it can really work loud
-
maybe can la McDonald's. I tried to find work with
-
GFC and McDonald's. No one wanted to hire a year,
-
so the Lord opened a door that I do advertisements
-
for TV ads. Many years ago, I was the cornetto girl. Yes,
-
I just yeah, eat ice cream a fat face, okay
-
and uh And of course I've been doing it for
-
TV for a long time. And then as I grew
-
and became a Christian, I didn't want to do any
-
more ads because some of the ads were just not
-
nice to do. So I say no, so my agent
-
will have to choose the right ads for me. And
-
most of it if I want to do without not
-
doing art stuff was to eat food ads. Of course
-
I quite jubby chocolate ad, ice cream ad. You're all
-
food one, But that's how God provided because I said, look,
-
I want to give to my church building fund.
-
I don't have money.
-
My dad wasn't a believer yet and he lost everything.
-
Mam was babysitting. I had to go back to school
-
and work and study.
-
How do you give? The Lord provided the.
-
Face to do an ad to earn some money, and
-
it all went to my church. But there's a desire
-
and God provides. It was the act of faith, and
-
it was a food ad, not some face bathings. I
-
wouldn't do all that. No, no smoking, that's a very
-
big time. Was to do cigarettes. Peter Stuyvesant very well, pid.
-
I wouldn't do cigarette ads. I tell my agent, I
-
don't do cigarette ads. Don't be I don't do beer ads.
-
Why you're you are so you cannot allow only sixteen
-
seventeen at that time eighteen. God provides you have a
-
desire to give to God's house. He will provide for
-
you where there are so many ways, right, sometimes just
-
he will do it for us. You scatter your bread,
-
you will come back. I didn't have a scholarship to study,
-
I didn't have the funds. God provided and I managed
-
to finish whatever in two years and get out there
-
who work so that I could provide for my family.
-
We didn't have, but always gave whatever ten percent, five
-
dollars worth, ten percent, fifty cents, ten dollars fifty dollars.
-
Just give.
-
Now we've learned to give more than ten percent, because
-
God deserves more than what I owe him ten percent.
-
He enables us to give, and don't count what's left back,
-
because what's left back is still ninety percent, eighty percent
-
more than enough. Gone for the days I didn't have shoes,
-
gone for the day's when it was three dollars forty
-
two cents. God is faithful, He provides, He provides all
-
the time, He uses people, He provides from the skyact.
-
I just want to say, so for eternity, you were
-
abound on earth, while we are on earth.
-
Whatever our need may be amen.
-
I just want to end by saying we need to
-
develop that spirit of cheerful and joyful heart of giving
-
all the time. Don't calculate sense and until send or
-
so you count. I never I don't do that. But
-
as they say, the rich keeps getting richer and the
-
poor people like us gives remaining there. There's always done
-
there because we don't count the sense. But regardless, when
-
is it easier to give yourself to the Lord at
-
the march plenty or when is less than the plenty?
-
You have to answer that. For me, every day can
-
be Christmas. Every day God can bless you with a gift.
-
He uses people, and I'm very grateful for people who
-
have come into our lives to bless us. People are
-
strangers who just bless us. I don't know how God provides.
-
He does. Funds come in for a need for the
-
church many years ago when this is mostly adults. When
-
we started, Albert was only seventeen and eighteen. What money
-
you're gonna give us for the church?
-
Albert and friends Pastor had to go pray, go door
-
to door to knock at friends to.
-
Ask for money. So Pass has done his heart miles too.
-
Don't think he sits there and just wait. You know
-
he goes to people say would you invest in young people? Not?
-
Would you invest in young people? Would you invest in
-
young people? I tell you they've all invested, They've all
-
blessed their blessed today. They gave into a ya. They
-
gave because we were reaching young people who were lost.
-
God saw their scattering. They refreshed the young men and
-
women who are only teenagers then, but they have been
-
their businesses, blessed, blessed their children, bless I can see
-
because I know who's door he knocked on.
-
I tell you that give it will come back to you.
-
Press down, shaken together, running over whatever it is, because
-
it is really not just the amount we're talking about.
-
He's touching our hearts. Act of faith, Take a step
-
of faith. Want to do anything, please God, do it
-
by faith.
-
Number two.
-
Must have relationship with the one who made us. Must
-
have relationship with the one who gave us. Not oh God, Lord,
-
he's gonna hit me. No, he's holding out his hand
-
and say come, holding out his hand.
-
To you and say come.
-
So I was just don't know how to respond. That's
-
because the way we were raised. But I want to
-
say to you, man, how borring your face can be.
-
God takes you as you are. If you don't have
-
the words to say, also, in your heart you say, Lord,
-
I want to walk with you.
-
He takes you, He will come. Amen.
-
So the intimacy Number number three we at the end
-
of the day, who want to look like Christ. He gave,
-
He came, He gave he became poor so that you
-
and I can be rich. He took the cross for us.
-
He went to the cross, he was poor at that time,
-
so that today we can have health and be provided for.
-
I want to be like my master, and it's a
-
working I'm a working progress. But that's the step I
-
dropped closer Jesus. Whenever he had a need, he just
-
the Lord would provide. And yet God provided him women
-
who were well off. Many women served the needs of Jesus.
-
In case you didn't know, look read the book of Luke.
-
Many women actually served Jesus by providing financially. So God
-
used people all the time. It doesn't just fall from heaven.
-
God's people bless other God's people.
-
Amen. Not yet, God's people also.
-
Bless God's people. The wealth of the unrighteous will bless
-
the righteous. I was blessed by the wealth of the unrighteous,
-
and then the salvation came to them. All. Two ladies
-
who supported my education got saved. But their wealth was unrighteous,
-
meaning they were not yet believe. But they were willing
-
to support an righteous child of God. Then they give,
-
and it will come back to you. And they have
-
not lacked. They're old now they still got a law wealth.
-
So our God does not shut change you, but give
-
as he speaks, as you ask, hear his voice.
-
You are God sheep.
-
Amen. And for how are we sowing? So for eternity?
-
And you abound as well on earth? Amen. Hallelujah. Our
-
encouragement to you, to myself, can I grow a spirit
-
of cheerful and joyful heart of giving again? Giving can
-
be in words, in our treasure, in our time, in
-
our talent, wherever it is, we can give cheerfully. Amen,
-
because don't forget. Second Corinthians nine, verse seven says God
-
God loves a cheerful giver. Now, even if you cannot
-
smile because you say, my face light hatter, never mind
-
you push it up, give up? Amen, all right, I cannot.
-
Smile my face like that, my face like I want
-
to do.
-
Never mind, you push it on your I'm cheerful. It's
-
the heart that is cheerful, giving of your life, giving
-
of your treasure, giving whatever is, give cheerfully. Whenever you
-
have to give, and you're sad and your burden, please
-
don't give because you won't come back to you, press down,
-
checking together, running over. I'm sorry, that's not the principle.
-
You want to press down checking to get a ru
-
running over, you better give cheerfully, amen, just give laughing
-
and none amen, okay, just hilariously. The another version says, hilariously,
-
give to the Lord han okay, and is it this give?
-
And and it will come back to you pressed down,
-
checking together running over because you're sewing into eternity, whatever
-
the amount again, as the Lord speaks to you, and
-
and as we prepare even to give our anaversary gift
-
in the end of the man. Friends, if you feel
-
burdened and you just can't smile and you just hate
-
to give, please don't give, because it's not gonna come
-
back to you. Press down, checking to get a running over.
-
You are a give. You're happy.
-
You can see frouit.
-
I tell you, there's so much we do that really
-
is God's enablement to touch many lives, to get into communities.
-
We can't show you because we have to take you
-
there then you know, But then we share picture. I'm
-
sorry we share testimonies, but I hear so many testimonies
-
of lives themselves who have given of them time, talent, treasure,
-
that have been blessed so many times over. We may
-
see that. Amen.
-
We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more
