You're listening to a message to go from acts church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
Okay, yeah, so this morning, this morning the message. The
-
title of the message is we are overcomers. Okay, we
-
are overcomers. And the subtitle is more than conquerous. Okay.
-
And maybe I'll just read the Word. And if you
-
have your Bibles. I'm sure all of you should have
-
your Bibles, whether it's a digital or physical. You can
-
turn to Romans chapter eight and then we read the
-
Word and then we'll take it from there. Okay. So
-
Romans chapter eight, we're gonna read from verse thirty one
-
till thirty nine. Okay. So he says, yeah, what then
-
shall we say to these things? If God is for us,
-
who can be against us? Well, such a powerful statement.
-
If God is for us, who can be against us?
-
He who did not spare his own son, but delivered
-
him up for us all, how shall he not with
-
him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring
-
a charge against God's elect It is God who justifies.
-
Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died,
-
And furthermore is also Risen, who is even in the
-
right hand of God. Who also makes intercession for us.
-
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ, shall
-
tribulation or distress, or persecution, of famine, or nakedness or
-
peril assort, as it is written, for your sake, we
-
are killed all day long. We are counted as sheep
-
for the slaughter. Yet in all these things we are
-
more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I
-
am persuaded. Neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities,
-
nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor
-
height nor depth, nor any other creative thing shall be
-
able to separate us from the Love of God, which
-
is in Christ Jesus our Lord. And the key verse
-
is Romans eight thirty seven. Yet in all these things
-
we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
-
You know, when you read this scripture, most of the
-
time people might focus on God's love for us, that
-
nothing can separate us from God's love. And that's true.
-
It's a promise, you know. But for today I'm going
-
to focus a little bit more on being more than conquerors. Right,
-
I'll just give you a little bit of context. My
-
first statement is this, we will have trouble in the
-
world only pastor Steven and John Greasy me. I guess
-
the rest of you have never experienced trouble before, right,
-
don't have right? All you guys are good, no trouble,
-
no problems. Everybody loves you. Right, Never get in, never
-
get summoned before, right, okay, never go for exam before.
-
Everybody got trouble. Right, So we have trouble in the world,
-
and we will say we will face trouble in our lives. Correct,
-
it's a guarantee. It's actually a guarantee. How much is
-
it a guarantee?
-
Well?
-
The Bible also says it. Job fourteen one, okay, Joe
-
forty one says men that is born of a woman.
-
Just to clarify, when you say manna, you also cover
-
woman na. Okay, so men that is born of so
-
any of you here are not born of a woman?
-
Can you raise up your hands? You're not born of
-
a woman. Any of you here that looks like everybody
-
everybody here is born of a woman? Right, right? What
-
does it say man is born of a women? Is
-
a few days? Can you turn to your right neighbor
-
and say you have a few days here, a few days,
-
and then turn to another neighbor, and continue to excuse
-
you and say, and it's full of trouble, and the
-
days will be full of trouble. Hey, it is the Bible.
-
Say you no, no, I say you know the Bible
-
say this though, man that is born of a woman
-
is of a few days and full of trouble. We
-
are going with this. I came to be encouraged. We're
-
giving this scripture now. First fitter, four child says, beloved,
-
start nice, first beloved, beloved, Think it not strange concerning
-
the fiery trial, which is to try you, or so poetic,
-
let me simplify, Think it not strange. Don't be don't
-
don't don't be confused that there is actually problem coming
-
for you tomorrow fire trial, fairy trial theory or such
-
a strong word. Tomorrow, I'm gonna have fire. Guys, are
-
you okay when you go into your office tomorrow, you're
-
gonna have problems. Yeah, you're gonna have problems, right ah.
-
And for those who are not working, you say every
-
knocking tomorrow it's gonna be. They're gonna be a trouble.
-
Think it's not strange concerning the fire trial, which is
-
to try you, as though some strange things happened to you.
-
Oh you know when this problem happened. Oh, maybe I'm sinning.
-
That's why I'm going through so much problem right now. Friends,
-
it's not because you're sinning all of a sudden, sinners.
-
Oh you know, I didn't obey God yesterday. I didn't
-
I didn't lift up my hands. So that's why today
-
and I'm in an accident. I don't think that's the
-
requirement for having problems. The Bible really said the moment
-
you're born of women, and it looks like it covered
-
all of us. We have a few days and it's
-
full of trouble. Mm hmm. Interesting. Second Corinthians for eight
-
nine says we are hot, pressed on every side, yet
-
not crushed. We are perplexed. How many of you here
-
have been perplexed before? The not so confusing? What is confused?
-
Are confused? Do know what to do? You know? Don't
-
not to do? I don't know what to do? You know,
-
got three boys confessed to the girls. You don't know
-
what to do. She don't know who to choose. Perplexed, right,
-
but not in despair? Persecutor have you been persecutor before?
-
Not your fault persecuted, but not forsaken, struck down. I
-
think you struck now but not destroyed. Wow, so gloomy
-
at this morning. So what does the Bible promises? Well,
-
the Bible promises dead maybe And and you know, trouble
-
happens to us, correct, you know? And you want to
-
know the thing that makes it difficult? If you papersally
-
find trouble and it happened to you, then you know
-
what it's like you to some Tekayla right? Huh? You
-
you you going charry passal? You know that's the term use.
-
You went and look for trouble and you found it
-
con not then we all understand, Ayela, you should have
-
done that, John, Why do you do that? Right? Don't?
-
Why do you do? Know? But do you know that
-
sometimes you're not looking for trouble it looks for you? You
-
know you are. You are a model citizen. You are
-
not on your phone when you are driving. Everything's good,
-
You follow the traffic light, you follow the sweetly minute.
-
And then all it takes is one person out to
-
be on the phone. Now look at TikTok have to
-
bang into your back? Isn't that trouble? Oh? But I
-
don't know you pay some money, but very my fun, right,
-
I have to go to the police station, and trouble
-
finds you, coy. It happens maybe at work. You are
-
a model employee. You don't cherry passa anyone. You just
-
do your work. You stay in your lane, you know.
-
But then suddenly I don't know why, because you are
-
such a good employeer that your colleague, right, don't like
-
it that the boss start you more than him. And
-
then try and find trouble and nothing to do with you. Son,
-
You're gonna accuse of stuff that you never did. Trouble
-
look for you maybe, and maybe I don't know what
-
you can relate. And because this happens to me, I'm
-
at home, not a homelant, but I'm with my family right,
-
and I'm not doing anything. I'm happily living my life.
-
And then suddenly I have to deal with family issues,
-
generational family issues. Oh my goodness, there's trouble in the world.
-
And the Bible says, don't be surprised, there's trouble. How
-
many of you thinks got no trouble? One right, there's trouble.
-
No baas Alvin, When I receive Christ as my personal
-
law and savior and I'm a Christian, then everything will
-
be perfect right, we will have abundant life, there will
-
be no trouble. Friends, It doesn't work that way, it
-
doesn't you know, Oh I received just then tomorrow wake up.
-
It's zipper d duda, such a wonderful day. If you
-
get that song. None of you watch this knee right.
-
You know there'll be you woke out from the from
-
the room and then suddenly there's a rainbow and then
-
the birds are singing the air. You know, he's life.
-
Things happen correct, Things happen right. And I think when
-
you are old enough, or some people say you eat
-
more salt than other people eat rice, you kind of
-
know that there's troubler and you want me surprised when
-
it happens. Correct, No, mental you won't me a surprised
-
because you are expecting it. But I'm a bit curious
-
sometimes why sometimes do you feel like why do we
-
feel surprised when trouble happens? How many of you are
-
understanding what I'm trying to say. But I did everything
-
right war, but I trouble happens? Then what then? What? Friends?
-
Just because something bad happens, it doesn't mean that you
-
need to give up and throw in the towel. Correct,
-
because trouble happens whether we like it or not. And
-
of course we don't like trouble. It happens. But John
-
sixteen Ytree says these things. I have spoken to you
-
that in me you may have peace. In the world.
-
You will have tribulation. We're all in the world right now,
-
we're not We're all in the world. We will have tribulation.
-
Tribulation is a big word. No, please go and google
-
what tribulation means. It's not even a problem. Challenges not
-
its tribulation. Oh, tribulation is not fun. But be of
-
good cheer. I have overcome the world. So yes, there's trouble, friends,
-
there is trouble. There's trouble in this life, right you know.
-
And sometimes it's frustrating because we don't look for it,
-
but it happens to us. There is trouble. But but
-
but thankfully, thankfully, Jesus overcame the world. Jesus overcame the world.
-
And because he overcame the world, there is power weediness
-
to also overcome our challenges. And when we talk about
-
I'm not talking about you know. Of course, some trouble
-
you Jerry Pasawana. Yes, but even the trouble that you
-
didn't Jerry pasawan you have power. We didn't need to
-
overcome it. You have power. We didn't need to overcome me.
-
But what are we overcoming? Friends? Have you thought about
-
it before? Is it just problems? What are we all coming? Well,
-
we're overcoming the world? What is that? Well, it's an
-
ideology right now, if you if you look at what's online,
-
what's happening, even when you talk to people, right, you
-
will notice. I hope you not this, But if you
-
don't notice, I'm kind of letting you know that. It
-
is a fight of an idea. It's a fight of
-
an ideology. It is a fight of a way of life.
-
It's a way of life. If you didn't realize when
-
you come a believer and we read the Bible, the
-
Bible teaches you a way of life. Right, I'm sure
-
just now when you came up here, you know during
-
worship we have prayers or we do prayer just because
-
it's a church. No, no, no, no, no, it's a way
-
of life. Right. We pray for people because we believe
-
that God heals you. Not do it for what there's
-
no other reason why to pray except to present your
-
supplications to the Lord so that he can answer it.
-
Cory not. And that's what we believe, right, So it
-
is a way of life. We believe, you know, that's
-
why we do it. You do what you believe. So
-
the Bible teaches us a way of life. Why do
-
you come on a Sunday? Is it just so that
-
you can hear people tell jokes and go back feeling good. No,
-
it's a way of life. You grow deeper in the Word.
-
You have fellowship with believers. Why do we worship? Oh no,
-
it's karaoke Christian karaoke. No, we mean what we sing?
-
I mean I don't know what song you're saying? Just now?
-
What was the one song you sang? Just now? I
-
better ask you know what Holy Forever? What's one statement
-
in the song? What's the chorus say? Sorry? Your name
-
is the Highest? Friends, you're just sing sing and don't remember?
-
What does your name in? The Highest? Meaner? Whose name
-
Jesus name? We live him higher? You know what the
-
world does? The word you use it as a swear word,
-
We live the name higher. I hope none of you
-
use Jesus, for I swear now, because it is a
-
mockery if you can use Jesus name as a swear
-
and still pray to him and ask for healing. Why
-
you don't see that. You didn't see that coming, right,
-
you didn't see that coming. It's true, it's true. It
-
is a way of life that we are overcoming a
-
way of life. So the question is not there's no trouble.
-
That's not a question. It was trouble. Will happened, whether
-
we like it or not, whether it's we find it
-
or not happened. But then the question is which way
-
to be living or applying our lives. Is it God's
-
way or is it the world's way. It balls down
-
to that. It balls down to that because, oh, Jesus
-
overcame the world, and he says that we can overcome
-
the world. We can also overcome the world. We can
-
also overcome our challenges. We can also overcome our problems.
-
First John five four five says, for whatever is born
-
of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory
-
that has overcome the world. Our faith your catch that.
-
Let me repeat it again. For whatever that is born
-
of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory
-
that has overcome the world our faith. Who is he
-
who overcomes the world, But he who believes that Jesus
-
is the son of God as clear as they for
-
those of us here who believe that Christ is the
-
son of God. Right, we can overcome the world. But
-
past time, I don't understand. This's born of God things. Well,
-
the question is are we born of God? The Bible
-
says that when we receive Christ as our personal law
-
and savior, we are born again. And we talk about
-
being born again. It's not just okay, now, time to
-
go into my mother's womb and come out again. No
-
like some Okay, I know, God says, I'm not going
-
to use some graphic references, right, but it is a
-
born again in the spirit. Why born again? Why is
-
the term born again us? You have to reset because
-
when you're born in this world, we are born with
-
a lot of things, born with a law of teaching,
-
born with a love experiences, born with a lot of
-
But when we receive Christ. That's why we say people
-
cannot be born a Christian. You have to receive Christ
-
for yourself because it's a transformation that happens a reset first,
-
a reset that happens no longer. You know, we have
-
that song when people are baptized. You know, right, I
-
follow Jesus. No turning back right, no turning back to
-
my old ways, no turning back to what I used
-
to practice, no turning back to my old ideas. But
-
I walk straight to Christ. You know how challenging it
-
is when we always keep going back. Okay, Jesus, I
-
like this. I take this, but I want to go
-
back and do a few more other things that I'm
-
used to. Friends, it is a born again. It is
-
tough to overcome if you're not totally transformed, right, And
-
it is a transformation transformed because our lives are transformed
-
to Christ, Jesus. Our lives are transformed the moment we
-
receive Christ in our life. It is there's a transformation
-
that's happening. You know. Transformation is not like immediate one.
-
It takets time. Transformation takes time. It does, It takes time, right,
-
but it is happening. Let me read First John for
-
one to four. Are you guys okay, are guys getting
-
something out of this? I hope you are, because you
-
know there I'll be wasting your time. First John four
-
one four says, beloved, do not believe every spirit, but
-
test the spirits whether they are of God, because many
-
false prophets have gone out into the world. By this,
-
you know the spirit of God. Every spirit that confesses
-
that Jesus Christ has come in the fleshes of God.
-
And every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ
-
has come in the flesh is not of God. Wow,
-
the Bible is so clear. Every spirit that confesses that
-
Christ is of the flesh. You know what the means.
-
Christ came to this world, died for since. But every
-
spirit that don't confess it Jesus real or not one,
-
he's just a man. Lie this Jesus old school la y.
-
It is not of God, by by way, clear right.
-
And this is the spirit of the anti Christ, which
-
you have heard was coming, and it's now already in
-
the world. You are of God, little children, and have
-
overcome them, because He who is in you is greater
-
than he who is in the world. Friends, which is
-
greater in your life? Christ? Or something else? Christ? Or
-
our dreams? Christ or what we want? It's a clear
-
cut choice. It's a clear cut choice, you know. And
-
we are want to test the spirit, right remind say
-
it is a challenge of ideology. The ideas that we have.
-
Is it conflicting to the Bible. Whatever we receive, whatever
-
we take in, whatever we believe in, is it conflicting
-
to the Bible. Right. It's a very clear cut thing, right.
-
And we want to test the spirits right, and we
-
are taught to discern the fruit of the people. That's
-
something I constantly encourage even xpj XB. You want to
-
encourage you. You want to live a life full of
-
abundance as God promised. Test the spirit, test yourself. Don't
-
just listen to pass the steven. Don't just listen to me.
-
Don't just come and take it. No, test yourself. That's
-
the wonderful thing about being a believer. Being a believer.
-
It's not just about following an organization or following this. No,
-
being a believer is relationship with Christ. It is means, sir,
-
everyone here, me and myself. I am responsible over my
-
own faith. You know I'm not responsible over someone else's faith.
-
You know. Well, I'm responsible as the pastor to make
-
sure I say the right thing that's definitely true. Write
-
those that are called to lead you got extra stressler,
-
I will say because you say the wrong thing means
-
you lead astray all the sheep. So that responsible I have.
-
But concerning my faith, it is my responsibility. That also
-
means everyone here you're responsible over your own faith. You
-
can't just throw the now. I always imagine this. I
-
was talking to someone I can't remember who you know.
-
I hope you guys can receive this well. When we
-
die and face Jesus in the jush bent throne ride,
-
I can't look at God and go So, Elvin, why
-
did you, you know, decide not to serve anymore? Because
-
Pastor Steven gets on my nerves. Right, everything he do,
-
I cannot stand right, I tell him, don't know? I
-
give up ready. Do you think there's a valid reason? No,
-
it's not, but sometimes we think that way. You can't
-
know in front of God, you can't blame same same
-
with parents. You notice when you're dealing with a child's
-
misbehaving and the misbehaving child go and blame someone else?
-
You think you will? Are you foolish enough to go
-
and wat go of them? No, you will deal with
-
the behavior. Everybody is responsible over their own actions. Corn On,
-
This is why the Bible is teaching us so I'm
-
encouraging you guys, please test what you see in the
-
church outside of church. Test is it from the Lord?
-
And don't be surprised when you practice something that it
-
is not from the Lord. You find yourself in trouble. See,
-
trouble will come anyway. But I think if we do
-
things within God, we can overcome the trouble. But when
-
we do things not within God, under whose power we overcoming?
-
Under whose power were overcoming? Because the Bible promises us
-
that He who is within me within you everyone here,
-
you have the power and the potential to overcome your challenges.
-
To overcome that difficult boss, to overcome that difficult situation,
-
to overcome that exam, to overcome your family problems. You
-
have the power within you to overcome all these challenges,
-
to overcome the market, to overcome a difficult business. Hey,
-
we believe in a God. There is a God of
-
the impossible. No you mean it's just all lip service, No, friends, No.
-
My encouragement to U is this, you have the power
-
within you. So let's discern Mentel seven sixteen twenty says
-
you will know them by their fruits. Do men gather
-
grapes from torn bushes? Or fixed from tea cells. Let
-
me Malaysia like this again? Okay, I did this just now?
-
You know do people gather apples from uh cow grass
-
and duran from no RAMUTANSI got fruit? Man? You know
-
a tree that got no fruit run is poison ivy
-
Wait right? If you do that, you know you sit
-
and look at the crowd grass right and say, oh apple, apple, apple,
-
pleas come, isn't it foolish? So? For every good tree
-
best good fruit, but the bad tree best bad fruit.
-
A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a
-
bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not
-
bad fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
-
Therefore by their fruits you will know them. So, friends,
-
how do you discern things? How do you discern people? Fruit? Fruit? Fruit?
-
What do they produce? Do they produce? Angry people? Then
-
you better be your cap fol Listen to what they say.
-
Do they produce? What do they produce? I mean that's
-
how you discern. Look at what the person produces. The
-
thing is it also talks about us. What am I producing?
-
And if you know you're producing good fruit? Right, you
-
don't have to worry about your testimony? Right? Can I
-
be honest a little bit with you. Of course, I'm
-
a pastor of the church and I'm a leader as well,
-
and sometimes I have to make difficult decisions that people
-
don't like, right, But I come to a place right,
-
and I learned this from Pascenov. I come to a
-
place right that I'm not worried about what people like
-
or don't like, because I'm here to please God, not men.
-
And wouldn't you be supporting me if you know or
-
you're ready? I policemen all the time, right, And the
-
thing is, I'm confident in my product or production, if
-
you get what I mean. I'm not talking about my kids, sir, Hey,
-
my kids still need help. But I'm talking about the
-
people around me, the leaders around me, the people I
-
sow into. Who are they? What do they do? What
-
kind of people are they? Are they angry people? Are
-
they encouraging people? Do they always complain or do they
-
always speak life? That is what we talk about production, right.
-
So my encouragement towards is Hey, God really teach us
-
how to discern. So let's first have self awareness of
-
ourself as what am I producing? Good? Question asked? But
-
the second point is when you want to look at
-
what to follow. Look at the fruit the person gives.
-
Look at the fruit. Don't go blindly follow anybody just
-
because happening. Now everybody is hanging around John, and you know,
-
don't do that. Please, everybody does that. It's always about
-
the gram. You know why he goes. I also want
-
to go friends. That's not fruit. It's all surferst only, right,
-
So look at the fruit. Does it take time, yes
-
it does. Does it take effort, yes it does. Amen,
-
Come let me show you a story. I hope you're
-
convinced today that you can overcome. I don't know what
-
problems you're facing and what challenge you're facing, but when
-
you profess that Christ is the Lord, and when he stays,
-
when he's living in you, whatever challenge you face, whether
-
it's a family problem, whether it's a work problem, you
-
can overcome. Right, you can overcome, and your life will
-
be transformed. So I think I've been quite open about
-
my my family situation. And right now I'm at a
-
stage where I'm taking care of my dad, okay, and
-
he has to go for treatment different things, and I'm
-
sort of like the firstborner okay here, so I have
-
to take him, take him to the hospital and all
-
so last week I to leave to take him to
-
the hospital. And because no insurance, everything Gama hospital are
-
so if you're familiar with government hospital, it takes time, Lae, Okay,
-
it's good. Can I tell you that Militia health care
-
is good? You know why? Because after everything, right, I
-
only paid one ring, gave fifty cents for everything. So
-
only in Malaysia, I don't know where the other country,
-
and only in Malasia. How throat your signals are. You
-
can still go government and you can still pay for treatment,
-
and you won't like you know, you won't be in
-
a difficult situation is that you have to wait, La,
-
You have to wait. Just that only you have to wait,
-
you have to do with Gama works, you know. So
-
I went, I did my my thing, you know, and
-
and you know, taking care of ailing old person is difficult, okay.
-
So number one is a person's not well. Number two
-
is ailing and sometimes feel like, oh, I'm thinking care
-
of a child sometimes. So I mean, God really told
-
me honor my dad, So I honor uh. And it's
-
not like very close to him and all these different things.
-
So I did it and it was quite frustrating because
-
I had to go here, go there, talk to this doctor,
-
all these different things that I happen on the day,
-
and then my dad doesn't make it any easier because
-
he's the one. And let's just say that we spoke
-
to a doctor and we were hoping for good news
-
so that the treatment can be better something I want.
-
I won't go through it into the detail, but unfortunately
-
it was not so good news and we had to
-
wait and two weeks and so on and so forth.
-
So okay, and then my dad was a little bit affected.
-
And of course prior to that, he will ask me
-
to do things that like by days, by that, and
-
before that he also said, you know, maybe dinner, you know, uh,
-
he wants pizza, you know, And I'm not gonna be
-
that sorry to like order pizza, right, but I've been
-
I ready to leave. I spent a few hours aday
-
and then now you're making demands. And there were one
-
or two things that happened that made me very like
-
not happy, la, like you know that kind of thing.
-
And then I also retell it LA, like whyever, La,
-
you know, uh dinner, you go set yourself lass, so cruel. No, No,
-
I'm not cruel, just trying to share share an honort story.
-
So I got angry, he got angry. I dropped me home.
-
It was about four cray. I picked him up at
-
eight o'clock. Okay, whole day really there, okay. And then
-
on the way back, driving back to my house, half
-
an hour drive, and I reflected to myself, my dad's
-
not young, yes, you know, and and prior to this,
-
and this is something my wife has identified, you know,
-
which I thank her for it because sometimes you need
-
someone who's not there to see what's going what's happening.
-
And she's mentioned to me a few times I need
-
to be nicer to my dad. And so I got off.
-
I got off emotional damage like okay, right, So so
-
I'm dealing with that. So the old Elvin would have
-
just drive back angry and justified that I I was
-
there for eight hours. I really spend money, I did
-
everything at it, and you're still not happy, old Elvin, Okay,
-
And I had a right. I had a right. Okay,
-
I had a right because I did. Ma. Youre asking
-
me for some more things, you know, all this kind
-
of stuff, right, you know, and there's no thank you. Right,
-
So driving back and I reflected, Number one, that's not
-
getting any younger. Number two says Pizzara. Guys, it's not
-
very complicated, right, So I and and and then God spoke.
-
He said, what are you doing? And you're supposed to
-
younize your dad and I had to, so I'm like, okay, fine.
-
I grabbed the pizza to him for dinner, and then
-
I just sent him and I'm him Nola. And then
-
he texted me. He said, I've been thanks so much
-
for everything today. So of course I'm like, I mean,
-
I don't know how can lang Chinese? There are two
-
words we don't say, thank you and sorry. Okay, and
-
I've not gotten that much. And of course that at
-
that time, I wasn't looking for that because I was
-
at peace ready. I'm like, okay, God, deal with it.
-
Transformation our friends, I said, transformation, God transforms your life.
-
See my past doesn't dictate how I can. How I
-
knew move forward. I overcame my emotions to do the
-
right thing, but only true God, because he who is
-
within me is greater than he who is in this world. Correct.
-
See your scripture comes to life. So I said, he said,
-
thank you. I'm like, okay, right. Uh and and yeah,
-
I say that he's not young. He was also discouraged,
-
and I'm like, maybe I could encourage you with pizza,
-
a very small sacrifice, although it was difficult before that,
-
Like I'm giving a child. I know you never say
-
thank you. All these things are okay, emotion damage, but
-
I did it. I okay, but steing my emotions and
-
then I overcame whatever and I'm like, okay, look, I
-
will just obey you. Right. We have the power of
-
reading us our past. How we feel, what's the situation
-
happening right now doesn't have to dictate how we react.
-
You know. The thing sometimes is that just because we
-
feel some Let me talk about that a little bit,
-
because if the Bible tells us to discern the spirit,
-
just because it feels good doesn't mean it's a God thing.
-
Just because it feels good, it sounds good, it looks good,
-
doesn't mean it's God. I say, sometimes the more important
-
thing that we gott to ask ourselves is God, are
-
you here? The one lesson that I've learned recently is
-
you know, because I remain, I say, trouble will come,
-
tribulations will come, problems will come. So shouldn't be surprice man.
-
So then once the important thing God, when trouble comes,
-
are you here? Show me that you're here, because I
-
want to make sure I make decisions and move forward.
-
We've God and not move forward without God. Keep going
-
to the troblem, but if you go, it's there. As
-
you go there, don't want keep going here. No, I
-
wan't ask God, are you here? Because if God is here,
-
even though I face trouble, I know it's for purpose.
-
But when God's not there, then I'm looking for trouble.
-
So it's not about the trouble, it's about it's God here.
-
That's the question I always ask myself. Now, God, are
-
you here? I discern? I discern God? Is your spirit here?
-
Or am I following something else? I want to be
-
careful right, and when God's spirit is there, there is transformation.
-
You will do things you don't imagine you will normally
-
do so normally I told you with my dad, I
-
normally would just get angry and talk to my wife,
-
com play and then that's it. Well, I still think
-
if to the hospital, yes, would I still be do
-
all the part that I need to do? Yes, maybe
-
a little bit unhappier but I didn't bring peace in
-
the situation. It had to take God speaking to me
-
for me to do something different. Do you know? After
-
that it affected my whole day the following day because
-
normally when things are this happened, then I'll be a
-
bit upset, you know, and then it you know, spirals
-
on other things. But because that happened, I was told
-
you at peace. In fact, this morning, I will say,
-
my son a bit difficult to handle. So normally I
-
would like angry, score him orever, okay, But I was like, oh,
-
very at peace. So there I recognize something. I recognize
-
that God is dealing with me, and He's always dealing
-
with us. Right, But then I'm doing something that I
-
don't normally do, be a total peace with the situation.
-
In fact, try to help because I overcame my emotions.
-
Just being very honest with you, guys. What is the
-
reward for overcomers? Friends? I'm sharing that we are all
-
overcome us here? What is the reward? Well? Revelations three,
-
nineteen twenty one says as many as I love, I
-
rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I
-
stand at the door, and not if anyone hears my
-
voice and opens the door, I will come to him
-
and dine with him, and he with me. Friends, Jesus
-
is knocking on your door this morning. The question is
-
not whether he not or not. The question is are
-
you going to open it up to him? Are you
-
going to allow him to touch areas of our life?
-
You don't know that you've been dealing with. It's up
-
to us. He's knocking at the door. Hello, passa Steven. Hey,
-
I'm gonna clean up your house. He's gonna be on
-
You know, I'm gonna move things around. How many of
-
you like that people move things around? Let me tell
-
you a funny story. My grandmother her love language is service,
-
and I think I'm a bit like that. So she
-
will come and she will clean my room, clean my
-
last time when I married, though, So they got a
-
key to my house. I mean I gave my mom
-
my grandma key. I wouldn't say this is the healthiest thing. Okay,
-
but they ever keep to my house and they will come,
-
and because me and my wife are working, they will
-
come and clean everything without telling us. And I cannot
-
find anything. And he's a frustrating. Jesus wanted to come
-
and clean your house, friends, but don't worry. He will
-
tell you where everything is. Wouldn't it be great if
-
you can dine with Christ when you overcome to him.
-
Over who overcomes, I will grant him to sit with
-
me on my throne, as I also overcame and sat
-
down with my father on his throne. Christ overcame quite
-
a lot of things. Though he had been angry, he
-
was betrayed by his closest. He could have done a
-
lot of things, but he overcame it. And of course,
-
in the world's eyes are he's a failure. But in
-
God's eyes he overcame. He overcame things beyond what we expected.
-
Revelations three five says he who overcomes shall be clothed
-
in white garment. You know it's a symbol. White white
-
garment means what blameless, spotless, no blemish. And I will
-
not blot out his name from the book of Life.
-
I find it way interesting that the Bible says that
-
way instead of I will write your name, is like
-
I will not blot out means that, friends, every single
-
one of your name is already in the Book of Life.
-
But if we don't overcome the world, you'll be canceled.
-
You see the difference. It is not like you prove
-
yourself I write. You know He's written ready, It is
-
a really in the book of life. God has really
-
accepted you, however messed up you are. But if we
-
don't overcome, and we let the world overcome us, but
-
I will confess his name before my Father and before
-
he's injurls. You know what that means. Confession of our
-
name means that no matter how much mistake you make
-
your life, no matter how crazy things you know that
-
you've done before, Jesus will defend you in front of
-
God when you overcome. Revelations, treat child, says he who overcomes.
-
I will make him a pillow in the temple of
-
my God, and he shall not go out no more.
-
I will write on him the name of my God
-
and the name of the city of my God, the
-
New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God.
-
And I will write on him my new name. I
-
know sometimes when you read things like this in the Bible,
-
especially in Revelations, it gets very confusing. But I think
-
we've got to pick up certain key things, because when
-
you overcome the world, you become a bit in God's house,
-
this one, I want to speak to leaders. If you're
-
a leader here, do you know what pillers do for
-
a building? The pillars is the foundation of the building.
-
Recently I I you know, I mean renovations. So I
-
understand how important the pillars is. Right if I see
-
a pillar and I had to deal with one situation
-
where there was a pillar there and I had to
-
decide we don't want to break it down or not.
-
But the problem is if I break down pillar, a
-
structural engineer will say you are crazy because you've got
-
second floor. Second floor will come crushing down. But when
-
you are, when you overcome friends and you are made
-
a pillar in the house of God, means you are
-
a key figure now in this place, I think we
-
need more pillars in nextbu. Do you know that if
-
we are more pillars in next bu, the church should
-
be stronger that whatever you face, whatever challenge you face.
-
For example, sunny this week, you know pass a severe
-
will crean shot. But oh next week are be you
-
got no venue? What will pillars say? Oh, no venue
-
near mine? Let's meet someone. Let's find a place no
-
econ near mine? A pillow will say that you know
-
a person. That's not a pillow. Hauh no venue? Yay?
-
No need go church? No, let's visit another place. Is
-
that a pillar? I don't think that's a pillow. Looks
-
more like a read or a left right? No a pillar?
-
Say no, this is what we need to do. Are
-
you a pillow in the House of God? You're not pillers?
-
Do you can lean on pillars when you're highed? You
-
can lean on pillars? Right? How many if you like
-
to lean on a pillar and then you follow? So, friends,
-
we need more pillows in God's house. Leaders, you are
-
pillars in this place. We need more pillars. When we
-
are more pillars, to foundation is stronger. Amen. Friends, Do
-
we now know why the Bible teaches us to rejoice
-
in tribulation? Trouble is going to come anyway, but then
-
we can overcome Romans five three five says, And not
-
only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that
-
tribulation produces perseverance and perseverance, character and character. Hope, now,
-
hope that's not disappointed because the love of God, which
-
has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
-
also was given to us and the scripture that we
-
all like to hear, my brethren, count of all joy
-
when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing
-
of your faith produces patients. But let patients have this
-
perfect work that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
-
You want to lack nothing in your life. Well, rejoice
-
when you're going through trouble. Rejoice when you're going to challenges,
-
because then you become stronger, You become someone that is reliable,
-
right right, you go through pain, then only you will
-
be stronger when you don't go through pain. You know,
-
pain is a very good teacher, you know it is.
-
But sometimes even as parents want to shield our kids
-
from everything. And recently I saw this, I think it
-
was I can't remember wish your speaker, you know, on
-
on reels on YouTube reels, and the speakure said, the
-
role of the father is very unique in a child's life, right,
-
and we all know that God is our father. Right,
-
So a role of my mother naturally is n nurturing, nurturing, protect,
-
take care of the kids, make sure they are fat,
-
make sure I mean my wife does that case, you'll
-
make sure that childs are okay. I mean, we just
-
had a very interesting conversation. Yesterday we were driving because
-
we're in Kal. You know, we went for don and
-
rest this exchange of vowels, and after we went for breakfast,
-
and then after we were driving there and then we
-
were talking about kl you know, because I said, oh,
-
what do you feel when come k because Kal is
-
a backyard right for me, it's clang, you know, every
-
time you go clan and feel nostalgic. And then she said,
-
depends on who I'm with. She said, when I'm in
-
Kale with the kids, I feel anxious. So mama anxious.
-
This is the big city wife. You get robbed, get
-
back by car. You know. Yeah, I'm like, I don't
-
feel that way, you know, but she feels that way
-
right to me. It's like, well, if I'm killed, the
-
kids then they learn. Now I want to teach him
-
to be straight smart. But that's the role of a father.
-
A father challenges their children and say, hey, you can
-
be better. A father doesn't protect protects, yes, but doesn't
-
like take care of the kid until don't let him
-
do anything, you know, that's what her father does. Now.
-
A father say, ah, you want to climb, go ala climb,
-
But I'm here to catch you, but go and climb
-
to see how high you can climb. Right, that's what
-
our father does. Why because they need to push the
-
child to say, hey, you're going to reach your potential,
-
and I'm going to support you reaching your potential. That's
-
what her father does, right. But of course the mom
-
will nurture, the mom will take care. Friends, we cannot
-
be living lives. Yes, nurturing is good against her, but
-
we cannot be living lives in a bubble. Please, don't
-
do you know what happens when you just stay in
-
a bubble, when tribute, when trouble, don't even talk about tribulation,
-
and tribulation is a big word. When we keep staying
-
in a bubble, the moment problem hits, you give up
-
everything because you are The word we use is sheltered,
-
too sheltered. We all know how that is. When someone
-
is too sheltered, too spoiled to then they can all
-
survive life. Because life is hard. Life will hit you
-
in the face. So what once hit then give up? No,
-
pick yourself up and move forward, fall down from the bite.
-
Don't do it. How many of you you know as parents,
-
you understand this right And even if you're child, you
-
understand this. You thank your parents are for all the
-
times they challenge you. You know, you know all the
-
times that you're protected and taken care of. And you know,
-
I don't know how much you remember that, but the
-
lessons of life that make you stronger. You remember. That's
-
why trials and tribulations, the testing of our faith produces patients.
-
Can we go back to the previous one? Tribulation produces
-
perseverance and perseverance, character and character, hope. Don't we want
-
everyone to be people of character? Don't you want everyone
-
to be pillous? Don't you want to be a personal character?
-
Then you've got to embrace that. There will be challenges,
-
but don't be defeated because you can overcome. Why because
-
he who is in me is greater than he who
-
is in this world. You remember that. Friends, you know,
-
this message is a message that I've been wanting to
-
share for what I be. I've been I've been stewing
-
it a bit because I look around me and sometimes
-
I feel like, you know that there's a saying that says,
-
oh no, this generation is a strawberry generation, right, And
-
I'm not talking about the generation I think Christians in general,
-
we need to be tougher, you know. We need to
-
grow beyond just just you know, grow beyond the top
-
process of oh, when something bad happens means I'm saying,
-
come on, guys, let's grow up. Lah. It's time to
-
eat meat, it's time to go It's time to discern
-
for yourself what is from God and what is not.
-
It's time to go deeper in the world, and it's
-
time to be strong because we need more people to
-
be strong. We need more people to be strong because
-
when you are there, other people can experience the love,
-
the freedom. You know, it says here you will lack nothing.
-
And that is about the life. Abundant life is not
-
devoid of problems. Abundant life is knowing you can overcome problems.
-
That is about a life. It's not devoid of problems,
-
you know, but it is knowing that whatever problem that
-
you face, like I share you just now, every time
-
I'm in trouble, I just want to know that God
-
is here. Every time I'm in a tough spot, I
-
just want to know that God is here. And when
-
I know that my father is here, I want to
-
ask my Father what do I need to learn? How
-
do I need to grow? How do I need to
-
get stronger? Because He has a plan for me, He
-
has a plan for your friends. By its a choice.
-
Jesus is knocking on your door. Are you going to
-
open it? Do you want to overcome or do you
-
want to still stay at the side? Do you want
-
to be a pillar? It is a choice you have
-
to make and then you make Once you make the choice,
-
that will be decisions that'll be difficult. But can I
-
encourage you when you make these difficult decisions for the Lord? Wow?
-
I tell you it's going to be exciting because when
-
you start seeing God move in your life, you'll be like, wow, Lord,
-
some of these things are that have no control over
-
You are helping me. You know. One of the promises
-
that I receive And maybe I'll just end with this.
-
One of the biggest decisions of my life that I
-
had to decire was to come into full time. That
-
was one of the biggest decisions that I had to make.
-
And the time I had no girlfriend yet, I was
-
still single. But you know, you think about a lot
-
of things. You know, you think about like, oh, I
-
know can and money and all all these different things.
-
You know, but the call was strong, he was very clear,
-
and I remember we were at summit, second floor and
-
some second last I got got four pillow and one
-
pillar here, one pillar here, on pillar here, and pillar there,
-
you know. And I was sitting close to where Eric
-
was sitting there, maybe one seat behind. Why because easy
-
to run away once finished, you just disappear, you know.
-
I remember I was sitting there and I was praying
-
because there was this I was in a situation where
-
I had to decide do I go full time or not?
-
Do I say yes to this job, you know? And
-
God gave me just one word, Alvin, don't worry. I
-
will take care of your family. One promise. And he
-
gave me a scripture sicky first to cure of God
-
and all shall be added unto you. It was one
-
of the first scriptures that I keep close to my
-
heart until today. This year is my twins of your
-
full time. God has been good. He has taken care
-
of everything. He has taken care of my family. He's
-
kept his he's and of the bargain, I mean there
-
was no bagan now by his cap his promise. Friends,
-
Do I still go through challenges? I do? Do I
-
still go through financial challenges I do hey, heaving kid,
-
not Chip No, some of you who have kissed you no?
-
Right then college is getting more more expensive. How I
-
hold on to the promise, Elvin, I will take care
-
of your family. Elvin, I will take care of your family.
-
What is that promise that you have from God? Maybe
-
you don't have yet near my ask him? Noah, God,
-
can you give me a promise? Who do I claim
-
these promise from? Passus? Stephen pass Ken my boss know
-
I came from God. God. You asked me to come here, right,
-
you brought me here? Right? Hello. I want to know
-
whether you're still here. I want to make sure I'm
-
still walking in your will. That's important. Friends, I don't
-
know what situation you're in today. I hope I've encourage you.
-
I hope I've give given you some clarity. I hope
-
the word has illuminated something in your life. I hope
-
you grow more mature in the way you think about things,
-
because the reality is that Sunday is one day a week.
-
You're gonna go out there tomorrow, Monday till Friday and Saturday.
-
You're gonna face every single challenge. You're gonna face everything
-
and ain't gonna decide again. Am I happy enough to
-
come to church? Friends? I pray that you will not
-
just be about happy. No. I pray that you will
-
have conviction. I pray that you will face your challenges
-
knowing that Christ in you is greater. I pray that
-
God will stir your hearts to be sort and lightwhere
-
where you are, even in your own family. Yes, the
-
problem might repeat itself, but it doesn't mean that you
-
must continue acting the way you're acting. Because God can change.
-
God can transform you. Amen, and then we see new things.
-
I'm seeing new things though in my family, very interesting,
-
very interesting, and I like why I am love it,
-
love it. Having gone through twenty one years of emotional damage.
-
I love where I am right now because there's peace
-
in my home. But I had to make tough decisions.
-
I had to die to self, I to obey God.
-
I had to humble myself It's not about me anymore.
-
And then I experienced abandon life. Let's pray, pray.
-
