You're listening to a message to go from acts church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
So I was telling X some money about about church.
-
You know, next to being twenty fifth you know, or
-
twenty five years old. How really it's important for us
-
to remember it's not just about celebration of just uh
-
which reached there. You know, sometimes we just celeb because
-
we are thirty.
-
Years old, forty years old, fifty years old.
-
But actually for God, what's all about and being our church?
-
We started off four years ago by faith, by faith,
-
by faith, Pascalda, myself and a guy called Ryan. We
-
prayed for three months and you know, and we declared
-
the church started really really by faith.
-
I didn't know anybody.
-
And after all, you know, I mean, if you think
-
of a colony for a church, you won't.
-
Call ex acts X. You're not called X.
-
You call it some other couler name or something like that.
-
But you know, we we we wanted acts only because
-
we want to see the acts of Holy Spirit come
-
to pass.
-
We really believe that God was going.
-
To move spiritually powerfully, not by might, not by power,
-
but by his spirit. All right, That's why we really
-
believe in and we also do believe that you know
-
that people are hungry for science and wonders, miraculous things
-
to happen in their life.
-
Healing will take place.
-
We declared that you know that you know our church,
-
that you know the sik walk out healed and somewhere
-
we started the church.
-
So pray for three months.
-
Declared the church started, and we want so aim God
-
give us ten percent of the college that's in front
-
of us. We have Taylors in Tea and Metropolitan back
-
then totally maybe about ten ten, ten plus thousand students.
-
We said, God, just give us ten percent of this.
-
We want to reach our ten percent. We had this
-
huge banner that you know, not huge banner or rather
-
a huge saying in our organization church back then. Still
-
it is right now that every campus still deserves a
-
chance to hear the gospel at least once, really deserve
-
a chance to hear the gospel at least once. You
-
may think that, but we are urban church. Ever, I
-
must have heard about the gospel. Everyone must have heard
-
about what is a church? I want to let you
-
all know, friends, I thought so until I met someone
-
hurt or at least two individual right now who have
-
not heard about the gospel at all, have not heard
-
about it, don't even understand the concept of it of
-
a church, right and God is bringing them into our
-
meatst right now, and don't want to let you know
-
that it's not by chance really what it is doing,
-
because all this was late in the earlier days where
-
we are praying God give us an in road. So
-
we started the church, and the church, friends, was well
-
in a place whereby majority of things were given given.
-
Out second hand second hand.
-
Now you mustn't imagine second hand as in good condition secondhand,
-
all right, chance that can barely sit there together on friends,
-
those type all right, The schools only tightening release so
-
right now it's become a rocking chair, right. And we
-
had air cons that was given to us, supposed to
-
be about four horse power, but can only cool down
-
the place when there's about twenty plus people maximum. Anything
-
more than that it will be like a gym.
-
Sweat tea sweat smelling and stuff like that.
-
We started the church back there at two thirteen afternoon,
-
two thirty in the afternoon. I'm not sure how many
-
of us here wants to come to act in two
-
thirteen afternoon. They want to push it. They want they
-
have the serviays that pushed everything earlier, right two thirteen
-
after they come on. It's the hardest time to do church.
-
It's after lunch and it's a great time to sleep.
-
So it's very hard. But God says start at two thirty,
-
and we did, and we just said we just start.
-
Maybe campus students can wake up, right, So we started
-
it and people came first. You we didn't have huge
-
banner our flyers. Back there was a photocopy black and
-
white made with a software called Microsoft word no can
-
back then, nothing at all we designed flyers.
-
And stuff like that.
-
But we up with this passion just reaching out by faith.
-
I pray that all verse here today as we end
-
the year and start the year, that we end the
-
year with faith and start the year with faith. It
-
has to be more than just coming to the church
-
on a Sunday singing so how great is our God?
-
But no avenue to express the faith out. And it
-
has to been bigger than the problem with face. Because
-
problems that situation causes fear to come to our hearts.
-
So when we were given an opportunity to partner with
-
a passon in India, right to raise up funds about
-
US ten thousand back then to buy to work with them,
-
to buy a small piece of land to give to
-
them to start the school in the poorer state there.
-
And we were just about fifty plus and ninety nine
-
percent college student all right, no time seeing nothing at all,
-
but just say, hey, the love with our heart to
-
start this right, and we give the money the passes,
-
well you got do you have?
-
Rich? People?
-
Know all can students giving glory to the Lord. Friends,
-
it's not about the amount. It is not about wow,
-
it's not It's about God providing every seat.
-
So we give the money.
-
The passer over there he said that you know all
-
what the poor state, But yet the teachers weren't teaching.
-
So he just wanted to give the children a future,
-
a place why they could study, a place whereby they
-
could at least break the cycle of poverty. Right because
-
it's in a particular state as a believer, friends, the
-
people wanted to burn it down. But it's the parents
-
that got together. They say, the school is one of
-
the best things that ever happened to us. Please give
-
our churn a chance to learn. When the church hit
-
about fifty, we had to move out from Subamjaya to
-
a hotel. Again, every Sunday we see how great is
-
our God. Right every Sunday we declare that by faith,
-
not to live by side, but by faith. But if
-
the church leaders don't believe by faith, friends, then you
-
and I when never see miraculous you and I never
-
see actual life. So by the time God told us,
-
by time you reach fifty you have to move out.
-
You have to move out and rent a place that
-
can accommodate selty people, easy to sit and done.
-
Friends, because all of us here know that.
-
Although our hearts believe, our mind believes lower. Our hearts
-
are racing towards the finishing line. Really, but our mind
-
is the breaks that's being applied. It's hot because the
-
rent for the hotel was eight hungered ringed. To some
-
of us here, it hunger ring. It is what we
-
spend in two days. Maybe not here. Maybe it's.
-
Can't pursuit in all right, hunger ringed friends.
-
Our offree collection back there was about if I'm not wrong,
-
a month is about thousand and four put together, we
-
can survive for two weeks. The other two weeks you
-
can know where I need to meet. But you hurt God, friends,
-
and resist golf of unbelief, of fear that we have
-
to step in. But God say, when you reachh fifty,
-
you have to move. And sometimes in our life, friends,
-
it is hard to move because there's there's there is,
-
there is that fear, there is that that that the doubt,
-
there is like God, are you there not? So we
-
move out by faith to holiday villa back then nice
-
place right for the very first time, do not need
-
to wash the toilets.
-
You know how difficult it is.
-
Friends, no matter how Christian we are, friends, guys cannot
-
improperly want the Christian guys messy friends.
-
I'm not sure what enduring faculty it is.
-
But because the toilet cannot flash, it like they like
-
to put more toiler people. It's like to cower their scenes,
-
not to cower the deeds. And you know what happens
-
if you power up the the toilet with most other people,
-
it cannot flush at all. And that's why every pastor,
-
every Sunday we have to take out toiler people. Sometimes
-
I'm not sure why, but when it comes to toiler people,
-
not sorry, toilert, not working pastor Anson, toiler not working
-
pastor Anson toiler not working. It's always a problem come
-
to us. But when cople go dating, now tell us on,
-
you know, like for example, if you go dating, now
-
there busson.
-
I mean she really she can't go dating. I think
-
a problem.
-
I got a problem with my boyfriend. But it's always
-
a problem comes to us. So what happens every Sunday?
-
We have the plastic man now hands and take things
-
out on, you know, friends. That's why that's such an
-
anointed service that we pray for people of friends. People
-
show fold down under the power one confirm, confirm with
-
the hands of you skid, but toilert's clean, everything clean,
-
moving there, friends, The very first Sunday, I know the
-
laws readers because a lady one parent came wrote this
-
exact amount of the renter, not one ringing more, one
-
sent more it hungered ring it just to pay for
-
that one Sunday fan you and now you got to know,
-
come to this place whereby we have to believe you though,
-
So now the hunger ringed testimony is done right friends,
-
eight hunger is no longer the barrier anymore, because the
-
next barrier was this one month's renter for use cinema
-
is about six thousand ringed six thousand ring it to
-
a cinema where there was a bend for at least
-
a year. The only way to enter the cinema is
-
the exit. After you watch finish the movie, right, you
-
you walk to the front and I the left of
-
the right. That was our only entrance. When we view
-
the place, Freds, nobody wanted to rent. Only a church.
-
Faith with eyes of faith say, God said, this is
-
your place for the next one year. But we have
-
to raise money of for air CONTs and stuff like that.
-
And first, if you you and I know, to cool
-
down a cinema is never easy. But God, you only
-
need to concentrate on the front part. We need the
-
back part. Make it so hot that nobody wants toy
-
at the back. So everybody wants to stay at the
-
front and near the altar there because that's where the
-
concentration of the aircon is. That's why we put We
-
put about two five two five seven forting hospital will
-
altogether at the front. So everybody sat in front for
-
the very first time in the church. Good strategy got provided.
-
Every chair was filled with chewing gum because people watch
-
movie like the chew gum and stick under the chair.
-
And these are the days before TGV. Okay, got to
-
imagine that.
-
Okay, if you grow up in the era, you understand
-
these are the days before the nice plush cinema. Right
-
the seats when you wake up, it falls back up
-
one tringer over. We've got students coming in scripping every
-
tewing gum off, every teeing gum because you see that.
-
People come to change my seat on good seats, you see,
-
and the armage got chewing gum now, friends, so you
-
script everything off all right. But we had the problem
-
of reds. We have a problem of cockroachures. One day
-
God came brought the rain. The ring that broke our
-
whole author was wet together with all the cockroaches that
-
died and the altar. Seriously, we had the auto few
-
with cockroaches because they were in the.
-
Pipes rings too heavily.
-
Friends, we were disappointed because brand new cuppets and stuff
-
like that, right, but we were rejoicing we did the
-
crockads problem. After that, God can turn the situation around.
-
After we did cinema for a couple of months. One
-
day we drove past we were discovering the people were
-
dismantling our air cons not just people, but other people
-
dismantling our ecns. We asked them why you dismanted our aircons? Oh,
-
the owner has sore of the land. So you say,
-
whatever that's in the building belongs to us. Of course
-
our heart sang. We were discouraged. You were like, We
-
were like, we're could grow, We really good to grow.
-
And we were on the peak like nothing can stop us.
-
The kind of thing hit this wall whereby they spent
-
their ear con that very week they were asking yourselfs like,
-
where are we going to move? We cannot afford hotel
-
because the next from eighty packs eighty sea the hall
-
You and I know to get a hall this bigger
-
to Cather for Sealey, the jump is quite big on
-
So we were like asking how so happened our tenant
-
The tenant nets next to us moved out, so we
-
have the split level situation. God say, occupy that the
-
next next floor. So we broke down the walls. We
-
met church up in the floor. Again not the best
-
but it's okay. But then right now we found out
-
who owns one block around first, second, and third all
-
one owner. We were paying another another landlord, land lord,
-
he's a chief dandana right some when the owner found
-
out who's a Christian, saying that how can you do
-
this to a church? Basically why where we were paid,
-
we're also paying for her rent. Whether the church is
-
paying at the office on the floor, we're also paying
-
for her rent. That this lady was so like, how
-
can you do this to a church? Told this lady,
-
by your tendency is up, I will not renew it.
-
I will give it to them.
-
And she give us the whole fourth floors ground first, second,
-
and third. We couldn't afford the friends we're occupying the
-
third and the second we couldn't afford the ground floor
-
because ground floors about that back then was going about
-
seven eight thousand ring it a month. If there's ground floor,
-
you can you can you can work it out. How
-
much is it you add all the four flows together?
-
But the owner just told us that you just give
-
me five k for all four floors. See friends, God
-
knows already. But our heart was just so fearful, like
-
this different was just go for it right. We were
-
like the otherly is like, no, where are going to
-
come from? How we're going to supply of Lisa, like
-
you know, fourth floors. We were really barely scripping through
-
the cinema and you're asking us to take these other
-
fourth floors like that.
-
We were afraid.
-
Honestly, you know other people we were like like, how
-
how are how God God come to all kept friends.
-
It's not like it's not like they come of rich family.
-
So no, they're all like this, normal just kept friends.
-
We're not ask a pressure type more. Please, No, we
-
didn't do that. First we said God provide every Sunday.
-
We say, Guru provide. Then therefore we have to live
-
and expect that God will provide. But you do the
-
things for God. Love, friends, you can never live your
-
faith or whether you're life like a normal Christian because
-
we serve a God that knows before we ask, So
-
you already a really friends, think about it, that prepared
-
the person beforehand, who have taught this lady who owns
-
his fourth floors one day ran out to a church.
-
We were renting in the same unit for almost four
-
to five years before we got to know her. God
-
knew what we need. God knew what you need. So therefore, friends,
-
do not be afraid. Do not be afraid. So do
-
you told me chapter twenty was one? You mean so
-
many many saying the slights to your what seriously?
-
Okay? We after this?
-
I thought they do normally send the slice over to
-
you all know her? Oh noah, Oh you don't think
-
you're ready about to say that. They push it nowhere?
-
Shure you go to epoor. Okay, okay, kid, all right,
-
let me let me, let me, let me just try
-
to do this, all right. Uh, let me see uh
-
send to you can send to them?
-
All right?
-
Sorry, I thought I thought I remember, I did a
-
circond and next thing I know, my slight was with
-
someone else.
-
Ready that I say, I'm good paciate different message? Okay. Anyway,
-
Uh do you tell me chapter verse twenty worst one?
-
All right, don't we do it? But don't we about slights? Okay,
-
the slice will come after all right, twenty worst one.
-
When you go, come on, when you go and face
-
your enemies. Come on, when you go and face the enemies.
-
I love this scripture because all r enemies come on.
-
Oh that we are something that we are fighting for.
-
Friends.
-
Okay, have I put a cat here? You're in losses
-
or your enemy? Okay, I just have to see this
-
all right, see I believe it's my loss.
-
No, and you're in lass. I know your enemy.
-
Please please okay, passar Ro says, your enemy all right
-
nowither is the church ladership is your enemy? Please okay,
-
don't think that we want to stop you for having
-
a relationship. All right. If you want to go your way,
-
you go your way. Okay, just don't tell what you've
-
got a problem after that? Only we have this, We
-
have this thing that right. Oh, when you sudden that
-
would consult God love, when you got a problem, then
-
say God told me to break up. No, when you
-
suddenly say it goes like this, maybe the first Saturday,
-
they think that goes. God told me that she's the one,
-
He's the one like that. Know, it's all stuff that way.
-
God told me that you know that she appeared my mind,
-
my heart, her name. I opened the magazine, her name
-
was right there.
-
To the pitch.
-
For another confirmation, I drive past, I see a billboard,
-
do the right name there?
-
The initiates of there. It's always like that. Friends.
-
So as a church leader, you have to believe, okay,
-
I mean you pray God, God, pray dot God all
-
the time.
-
The prayer life is just now pay before all a
-
sudden prey one. He got why so clearly?
-
Really, I've never heard anyone that he goes so clearly
-
when the more relationship.
-
But the clarity of God is so clear anyway, anyway,
-
this besides all right?
-
Then then then then what happens after a couple reminds
-
me a year they break up?
-
Break up? Things happen, okay, break up?
-
Does it?
-
Break ups?
-
Wrong?
-
Break up? People do go to break up on right? Friends,
-
It happens, Okay, it happens.
-
Right.
-
So the question we always have there, did you pray?
-
Not?
-
Why prayer? Because you pray.
-
Before you enter my much previous when you exit, ma,
-
you use God name and you want to enter then
-
you when you exit now we use God name. One.
-
Just because you fight, you don't understand you break up?
-
So friends, I just want to say this, okay, all right,
-
your leadership is on your enemy.
-
Okay. We want every relationship in our chanch to work.
-
We do, we do. We do want every marriage to work.
-
We do, and we really really pray.
-
Right. Divorce was never never never on our books at
-
all one all right, never the books we never Advokay, okay,
-
if we just say, look, if given the choice, could
-
you try to stay together? Work it out, work it out,
-
work it out, work it out, work it out, right,
-
work it out. And even one party one that was you.
-
You don't need to sign. You do not need to sign.
-
You just need to hold your ground. The other person
-
far for it. Let the other person do what they
-
want to do. But you, as an individual, you follow
-
the lord right anyway?
-
This better? Okay?
-
Your enemies, your enemies, come on. So when you go
-
to better face your enemies friends, some enemies can be seen.
-
Come on, is it it true? Those enemies can be
-
seen on our friends. Sometimes easier to fight. For example,
-
you see a dirt that let's say the dirt. Okay,
-
if you're married, right, your spouse gore long hair. It's
-
a power of hair. It irks some guys, and I know,
-
I know some guys like, oh, come on, can you
-
be like me? I told my wife, can you be
-
like me? You can't fight any of my hair on
-
the floor. You cannot fight any of my hand on
-
the floor. Whereas by not married for almost close to
-
twenty years, really can put everything the pillow really small.
-
It the pillow. It's kidding all right, kidding right?
-
Something enemy you can see, you can see, okay, but
-
some is within we didn't. So the Bible says, when
-
you see the cherishts and horses and army, come on,
-
when you see the cherists horses. In other words, when
-
things begin to overwhelm you. There are situation in your life.
-
Are things I'm going to overwhelm you want to come on?
-
Somethings what we see frightens us. It is true what
-
we see frightened us. So the Bible says that when
-
you begin to see the cherishs of horses and the army,
-
there's more numerous than you remember. The Lord is with you,
-
and many times it's our own personal journey. Friends, when
-
we are afraid, when we feel overwhelmed, don't we feel
-
so alone that, even though that you can have someone
-
beside you, when you're married or your dating, you got
-
someone beside you, you feel alone because you are yourself
-
are going through the fire.
-
You yourself are going through the fire. Friends, and everyone.
-
Else may seem to understand, may seem to know, sympathize,
-
empathize with your situation, but come on, the only person
-
is feeling the fire or the heavy rain is you,
-
and this morning the Lord ones remind you again, friends,
-
you are not alone. This morning the lords will remind you.
-
Even God, you walk through the venue of child death,
-
you are not alone.
-
The Lord is with you.
-
I pray that today that you know, no matter what
-
you face and your workplace or stuff like that, you
-
know the Lord is. The Bible says, it's the same
-
God that brought you out from Egypt. Come on, who
-
brought you out from Egypt? I started with stories about
-
extras because it's a reminder of how.
-
The law was with us back there for the hunger
-
we gate rent, and how the Lord's gonna be with
-
us for the future.
-
Renter that's gonna come f You know that every barrier
-
when you break friends, there is another barrier.
-
You know, we'll see it.
-
Let's say, for sample extent life, one point in time,
-
we used to rent about six hundred and fifty earlier
-
Empire's five hunger ingate rent per usage. That's a bar
-
good and we really try to squeeze every every week.
-
Right then comes price increase a bit, a bit, A
-
bit a bit. Now it's one thousand, two fifty on
-
another hall some places society a bit more, depending on
-
the shore. But the very first Sunday for hunger ring
-
rental was hunger ring one month, two thousand low. We
-
have to provide for us, make sure the accent like
-
and provide can pay for the bills once the barrier
-
is broken. I remember passal Ronson one time asked, but
-
they want to charge us at two thousand plus? Who
-
run one hall over here? Old, there's no other place,
-
only very few hotels here. Know, like you chow one stone,
-
you hit for hotels here, you chose one stone and
-
you may not let any hotel and then some people's
-
house and kneel. How I remember I had this conversation
-
pass Ronson. We say, let's pray and say, if God
-
wants us to be here, you open the door. And
-
after after you try everything. If this is still the price,
-
if it's this, still go elev it our faith to
-
believe on friends, Remember it's the Lord that brought you
-
off from Egypt. We were nothing. The trail was starting
-
to be a Bible degree. We just said God, if
-
you can use anyone, it can use us. And we
-
said this that you know white testimonies must always come
-
out from the West, from America alone. Come on, white
-
Christian testimony must can only come from America or from UK. Australia.
-
All right, I've seen our youth campus who went to
-
Australia for holiday for seven days, come back to my great.
-
I want to migrate because the sky that is really blue,
-
really blue color. Wow, I could see one here behalf
-
they already ah, I could see one person? Is the
-
moon that is really round? Then? How is a fantastic right,
-
don't do don't don't get me started with the air
-
quality over there?
-
Right everywhere you walk out with almost like a golf course.
-
That nice? When I say dogs, no stree dogs.
-
Right?
-
No friends? Correct, there were no friends? Nice?
-
Seven days? No, it's the worst thing. After seven days
-
even pick.
-
Up the accent.
-
They really pick up the accent on the accent after
-
seven days. The my fast forward to there with your friends.
-
I say Australia. I was a graduate of Australia. Friends,
-
I understand, and I was even for nine months with
-
ten months. I understand the pew. I totally understand the
-
pew and everything like that. Right, nine months say I
-
wanted my great because here is bad. They go over there,
-
they come back. You know what the word of the
-
things that can you be more like the Australian pastors
-
seriously because they are so encouraging, not like us.
-
It's like slave master as you do surf every week,
-
never come to church.
-
You get a text right before you ask me how
-
am I? You already say? Can anything I can pray
-
for you? Something wrong? Every every time? I don't know
-
how the Australian pastor does it right. They put the
-
arms around you.
-
You are a legend.
-
With those few words, they can love Asian cry you know, friends,
-
I want to let you know. I've seen my friends crying.
-
You are you are you? You are mireckless?
-
You are And the worst affirmation was that if you
-
come from the Asian background, like if only my dad
-
could see it, if only my parents can ever say this? Right,
-
I've seen if you have, if you say, I'm just
-
exaggerating friends, it just wants Master Chef of Australia right, seriously,
-
Master Chef of Australia. And introduced the contestant, especially from
-
the Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.
-
Why do you want to enter this competition?
-
I always want to do food, but my parents as
-
to do engineering, finance, and I now thought I could
-
do something that. But your recipes are meant to be
-
shaped with the world with those few words. Friends, every
-
every agent, gods of the crying, wow, someone believe I'm
-
Can you not?
-
Friends?
-
Can you know what I'm sharing with you with this?
-
Because why is it that the west? Why is it
-
that our mindset? Why is it that always there? You
-
have testimony? But God's reminding us today that he's as
-
low as he review, you can overcome Egypt. Come on,
-
as long as he's review, you can overcome. And God
-
this morning wants to remind us again and again you
-
are not second class Christian. He has never had any class,
-
as he only has believer and non believer. You have
-
to believe, friends, Remember it is God that brought you
-
out from the land. So therefore the question is this
-
that where did we learn fear? Come on, where did
-
we learn how to fear things? When we were growing up,
-
we were fearless. Now we see a cat, we run away.
-
Some of us flying crockatires, we run away.
-
We do when when we were young, friends, there is
-
no tree that can stop us and say to us
-
that you cannot be climbing if ever of us. So
-
I have to qualify this, okay, see right, So we
-
grew up in the urban setting. The only tree you
-
see is part buttered by the local council. Like, oh there,
-
all right, So if we grew up back in the eighties,
-
so stuff like that. Right, if we ever climb a
-
ramu tree, rambutan tree, all right, the hairy fruit, the
-
rambutan tree. Every rambotan tree has rad ends, and the
-
ends you weave the leaves together and from a nest not.
-
Just one, but multiple spots one.
-
Right, There is no rambotan fruit without way ends one
-
very seldom unless it's greener.
-
But once then gray colored runs come.
-
Right, it's filled with rare ends, and there's some part
-
of the fruit is not low hanging byites on the
-
higher side. You have to climb the branches too. Even
-
though you use that long pole, you you still have
-
to climb the tree. I remember climbing so many rambotan
-
tree blacking, so many rambutants, bitten by so many ants. Coward, coward, coward.
-
These days if any ends, but you say, you might
-
die because some TikTok radio somewhere, some person got bittered
-
by rare ants died and because of that, friends, she
-
came to a life. Don't climb tree with adds, my
-
wife is saying, And see, I say, but you're beginning
-
to step on it. How did fear come into our lives?
-
Whereby after a while we are so fearful of things
-
none of us see inside of our class in our
-
primary school, say that feel? How do how to understand fear?
-
How to get more fear? The Bible says in Genesis
-
the Tree, verse six. So the woman saw that the
-
tree was good for food. It was pleasant to the eyes.
-
Come on, God, say do not eat of the tree.
-
God says, this tree cannot you? Okay, everything else but
-
this one you cannot. This is by commandment, my law.
-
You can touch anything except for this you cannot. You
-
cannot eat of this. The tree was the eyes, and
-
the tree was desirable. Come on, to make one wise.
-
Here's here's the thing. I have discovered that sometimes wise
-
people don't necessarily take a lot of faith. Come on,
-
I'm not asking us to better with education. I'm not
-
asking us to give up on wisdom. I'm asking us
-
to reconsider sometimes in our life. Yes, calculate the cause, Yes,
-
make every compulation, but.
-
Leave room for faith, Leave room for faith.
-
Because in your journey of life, friends, you got to
-
leave room for faith. We use be part of a
-
church when we were growing up, they had the largest
-
youth camp uh movement, or rather campus when you go
-
for when we go for camp back then, the total
-
number of campus that go for camp is four hundred
-
and fifty campus, about ninety five percent of youth. Some
-
of them will tell their parents that Mom, this year,
-
I do not want to go Disneyland. I want to
-
go for youth camp. Think where God these days where
-
God true? Were telling their parents, I do not want
-
to go disney Land. I want to go youth camp.
-
I do not want to go this. I want to
-
go youth care. I got to be part of the
-
youth care was five days and four nights in the
-
Chinese boarding school because it's the cheapest you could find.
-
And we had this.
-
A lot of youth on fire during camp say God,
-
there is no one else like you.
-
God.
-
I will always serve you the Lord. I'll committed my
-
life to you. But when you hit the working world,
-
wasn't graduate. They hit the working they were their faith
-
was put to a challenge. Their faith was challenge and
-
after a while they asked him, why do I still
-
go to chische on the Sunday when it doesn't help
-
my career? Why do I still go to a chis
-
on Sunday whereby it doesn't help my career. So they
-
were at the crossroad go to church or play golf
-
with the upper management bosses? Yes, I know God, but
-
my bosses doesn't know who I am. Yes, I know God,
-
by my bosses doesn't know who I am. And therefore
-
it's only wise to mingle around with the upper manchement
-
because once they know your name, at least your name
-
can be considered for promotion. To make one wise. The
-
Bible says, this tree wants to particular it. Once you
-
take this road, you'll be wise. It's a wise saying
-
to progress your career. Yes, it's true, So it's a
-
why say for upper massion know you, but at the
-
cost of disobedience, at the course of turning your bag,
-
and this youth leader I know, decided to play more
-
golf than going to church on Sunday.
-
Wise doesn't necessary make room for faith. So she ate
-
and she gives up to the husband worse it.
-
And then when they heard the sound of the Lord
-
God walking in the garden on the core of the
-
day m and his wife hit himself.
-
Come on.
-
Even though sometimes in our lives, friends, we think that
-
we can run away from God because of this obedience. Worse,
-
it reminds us and tells us again and again that
-
God is the one that reaches out to our hearts
-
that's so far away.
-
You could be here, but your heart is so far away.
-
I wanted you to.
-
God is reaching out to you because God knows how
-
needs God understand.
-
No matter how wise you are, we still need God.
-
No matter how sexs who we are, we still need
-
the Lord because there's some things money success can't buy.
-
I just got a text of someone who's really wealthy
-
and someone who's who I got to know through the years.
-
They say, you know, I think I'm in the last
-
slap of my life. The pain is so unbearable. I
-
felt that when my mind is slipping away, and I
-
felt I'm good to die. The irony is this is
-
that money is not an object. You can afford the
-
best of every healthcare, but the pain is just too much.
-
And sometimes our journey in our life is the better
-
we go. True, friends, is not fought on the field
-
of just because you got more cherished, more horses, more armies.
-
It's fort internally our mind, our hearts. So Adam and
-
Eve keep from the Lord. And it's the very first
-
time that men can't turn them and hide from God
-
because they're wise.
-
I pray that today you be look at their own life.
-
If there's anything that causes to hide from God, friends,
-
it is not from the Lord. If anything that causes
-
us to hide from God, it is not from the Lord,
-
because all that we do pushes us closer to God,
-
not away from the Lord. There was nine and you
-
know this part of the scripture. The Lord God called
-
them and say where are you? Then you say that
-
I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid.
-
Come on, for the very first time, man can experience
-
fear for the very first time. Because of sin, fear
-
came into our hearts. Friends, they did need the fruit
-
called fear. Friends, the Bible, you heard the world say
-
that you are what you eat, isn't it? So there's
-
not this fruit is not called fear. It must be
-
so tasty, it must be so looks nice and stuff
-
that most majority of us here we'll reach out for
-
an apple, correct, because we know the fruit, But why
-
p food you have never seen before? Would you perceive therecaution?
-
And therefore this fruit cannot be so so fearful. But
-
because of the one egg of disobedience, when the aid
-
of the fruit, they became fearful. So therefore my only
-
conclusion is this is that fear is a spirit. Common
-
fear is a spirit rather than there's a physical emotion.
-
So Second Timothy one, verse seven says this that God
-
has not given us the spirit of fear. Come on,
-
God has not given us the spirit of fear. So
-
if anyone of you still indulges yourself in horror shows,
-
still indulges yourself in.
-
Horror movie.
-
Because I remember one one campus student was saying the
-
an our campus student, I watched horror show because I
-
don't be alone.
-
If you catch it, you catch it. I watch.
-
Basically, the person was just saying that darling and our
-
campus Jesus gona watch her movie. You will feel at
-
any more. You always feel the spirits following you. Fear
-
is the spirit. Let me explain the sound of dripping water,
-
the sound of dripping water to a basin. Come on,
-
not fear fool is in't it not? Fearful, right, But
-
the sound of constant dripping water at a very slow
-
rate in a very old.
-
Hotel that you're taking for one night, is it fearful?
-
It's located inside the toilet rabbit is a bathtub with
-
the shower screen all shower screen, oh one older than you?
-
Where to serve the hot water in the red flask
-
that can only be delivered to you by a person
-
who looks equally as old as a red flask.
-
It doesn't really.
-
Help if the hotel is so old with faded signboard,
-
and opposite is a Hindu temper that which rings the bell.
-
At a particular time doesn't sound right, But you understand.
-
It's not scary when it's daylight, because daylight there's nothing
-
to feel. But once it reached ten one am in
-
the morning, things things very differently, isn't it. Although you
-
are Christian, you you pray, you sectify the rule, but
-
you just can't help, can't help, can't help. But the
-
feel this presence, this situation, trying to sleep, but the
-
constant tap that's leaking.
-
Fear is the spirit.
-
We had a camp called Attitude Big True Challenge Camp ABC.
-
Wasn't you know when they're said, that's actually they said
-
she migrated Oseis.
-
And h We had this camp got attitude, big two
-
challenge or a big big two campey plus of us men.
-
All right, so we wanted the help CAMPUSS stood to
-
overcome the fear. But it's by by introduced them to fear.
-
Helping them overcome the fear by introducing singing them to
-
us a particular thing.
-
All right. So it was eight pm.
-
We call all the campus does to come and go
-
to the canteen, and we turned the lights of everywhere
-
else off. We told the campus, hey, we're gonna send
-
you out two by two. One team you go first,
-
next fifteen minutes, another team you go. So friends, I
-
wanted you know it, were grouping together field begin to
-
build up, you know, friends, because all of a suddenly,
-
out off somewhere they heard the scream six check points
-
to the friends, only six Come on. We say that
-
there are there is a lot. But we watched you
-
put your name and sign on the book. First check
-
where was in the gym? A bit further out was
-
in the gym up there. When you go into the gym,
-
you see mirrors. We purposely put the book right at
-
the end of the hall in front of a TV
-
that played white noise. Friends, why now you know why
-
static esthetic sound? Right?
-
The book was right in fro front of the TV.
-
Sign your name there?
-
You know?
-
First, did you know that a lot of people couldn't
-
do it?
-
A lot of people couldn't sign a book in front
-
of the TV that's playing white noise in the gym
-
for mirrors? Why because some of them has watched the
-
movie before where they thought something to crawl from the
-
TV and bring them into the TV.
-
Feels the spirit.
-
Friends, there was another book, there's a there's another checkpoint.
-
They started located in the swimming pool. It was an
-
age of the swimming First, by the time they need
-
to sign on it, it was was one of those
-
I think it's a diving spot that right dive off
-
the platform, but by the time they need to sign
-
on it, they are basically looking the own reflection in
-
the pool.
-
That Friends, scare a lot of people. Why I'm sharing these?
-
Of course?
-
When did we learn to fear? When do we learn
-
to fear? Unless fear is the spirit that we open
-
doors in our life to come to influence us, to
-
come to soul sense of doubt. And that's why God
-
say move you go like, but how God, will you
-
come true for me? Will you come true for me?
-
You know? Some of us say, you know that God
-
has called I call you to serve, to be prob
-
of the home leadership. But who am I when I
-
teach everyone fall asleep and so much fear in our hearts.
-
God wants to deliver. That's why the Bible says that
-
He did not give us the spirit of fear and timidity,
-
but of love. Come on the power of us, power,
-
Come on, of power. God wants to remind you he's
-
the God of power. He doesn't set you up to
-
see you four. In our journey of our church for
-
the past twenty four years, I can share many, many,
-
many stories with your When the first girl people say
-
decide to leave our church, that was back in the
-
five years, the six years to start another church, we
-
say go, it's all right, God, you'll see us true.
-
A quarter of campusitans left. We got no campus pastor
-
and pastors just look at me. Can we just step
-
me me this look step into the position as a
-
campus leader to lead campus to the friends. This look
-
will never win any campus sudent for Christ, except to
-
frighten them to be closer, closer to Jesus. I remember
-
one time there was a there was a very young
-
boy running running okay in our church, Okay, crazy running
-
running right, not just running friends, running and banging his head,
-
A king against guys softer areas, all right, and every
-
guy he collided with, every guy got you understand, Okay, painful,
-
so wonder. I couldn't take it anymore. I put him aside. Okay,
-
I won't give you all the description. Okay, I could. No.
-
I don't know how to interact with kids because when
-
I grew up, my cousins age get between me about
-
fifteen years. By the time I and the college ship
-
were just like in the primary school. So no, no interaction.
-
I never held a baby until now. Yes again, my
-
wife is very goo. Okay to see I got back
-
to through the years. But I'm not not very good
-
because I don't know my strength.
-
Anyway.
-
I put this boy aside. I just told him, if
-
you run this mia, run, if you run somewhere out
-
top of your head, and I'll eat it. This is me,
-
this is me being entrusted with campus leadership, no friends.
-
I'm the boy did not find out he stopped running.
-
After that, I got the job done, but I frightened
-
the boy to Jesus realio, right, friends, why am I sharing?
-
Why am I sharing this to you?
-
Because sometimes you can be so feelful because the task
-
is in front of you. It's so overwhelming, right and
-
because of that, I cannot. I'm afraid what happened if
-
I messed up? One time I was supposed to do
-
a New Believers class. After the very first lesson, one
-
person say thank you so much Elder for your time
-
with us. I won't go back to be a Buddhist
-
personal choice, understand personal, but as a person facility that
-
very class, I felt so down, so discouraged, like wow,
-
I have the ability to cause someone when I teach
-
instar being more on fire for Jesus, Jesus and go
-
back to my always.
-
Fear comes in France. That's what God says.
-
Of power, then of love, perfect love, casts of all
-
come on, perfect love, casts of all you and I
-
need to know that God is loved and God powers
-
our mistakes, encourages us. It's already come up again, ed man,
-
if messed up at the garden, but God was the
-
one that reached out to edit if and just say, look.
-
You messed up.
-
It's all right, Let's look forward, he says of Self disciplined,
-
I'm going to close Self disciplined.
-
Why self deceive? Please?
-
Because our mind always project the worst case scenario, always
-
project the worst case scenario. The worst of the worst
-
will happen to us. What if you serve God, you'll
-
be single for the rest of your life. Just look
-
around you look at actually like how many people don't
-
have relationship in leadership? Yeah? Yeah, yes, I say, I
-
use the word yet And the question here is is
-
that who said you have to be in a relationship
-
in your twenties? If you ever tell founding Senior Candev
-
that you know every church has its own building, I
-
want to let you know this is how pass Kenneth reply,
-
God call them to have their own building, but not us.
-
Every church is planted in the big cities of Malaysia, Pinang, Georgetown, Joejo.
-
All these people fantastic, but nobody wants to go to
-
the smaller towns.
-
In our world.
-
Towards next year, you're going to see if you're going
-
to go to smaller towns. God, if you're asked us
-
to go. You shall supply all our needs. We shall
-
go there by faith because the ninety percent of our
-
church and Malaysia is less than fifty people, less than
-
fifty people, less than sixty people.
-
And here we have it's the only one thing. The
-
bigger towns.
-
God next year's put our hard to invest East Malaysia
-
to go, not just to say don't go. Don't go
-
to Kuching, go to smaller places because they need you
-
even more over there.
-
Would you go if God causes to go? Would you serve?
-
In God costes you serve?
-
But I'm fearful as I close friends, I just want
-
to remind us this fear is.
-
Not from God.
-
Come on, fear is not from God, honey at one point,
-
maybe again, invited again two weeks time.
-
Fear is not from God.
-
Like so many other stories to share with you all,
-
our church has never backed down and never look at
-
things in a natural way. Never God want that opened
-
us to try to get a building. We tried read
-
up the deposit ten percent by the ninety The only
-
one's cash.
-
The cash came is after that the contract.
-
Has finished, but the owner decided not to honors the
-
word took our deposit away one oh million. We'll hurt, painful,
-
but God heal our hearts from the day onwards.
-
You just reminded us again it is really about just planting.
-
From there. We real plant in ten different nations after that.
-
Never look back, because why when you're giving the gods
-
now lost, now in vain, Never though the world's here
-
has lost because you lost money. But you know your
-
big God. Sometimes in obedience we just just surrender, just surrendered.
-
Then God is right right in the center of everything.
-
I'm not saying this to be proud and anything like that,
-
but someone encourages us. We close this year, close this year,
-
you have the closest year be faith, and you start
-
the year with faith, not with fear, not with what
-
you read the papers that will know wars and just
-
have rumors of wars. But we have to start the
-
year with faith because so much so in our lives.
-
When we declare and we see how big it's our God,
-
we have to see translated in our.
-
Every day living, every day living.
-
We kind of come expecting our hearts when we pray
-
and we ask God that God will come true for us.
-
And not come to place of discouragement.
-
Disbelieve and just say God is not real and you
-
have to human VISI God to move. I'll just move
-
on my own. That's why Moses can say, God, if
-
you don't move, I.
-
Will never move.
-
Because it is you that brought us out from Egypt.
-
It is you that's gonna asher us into the Promised Land.
-
As like close friends. God did not give us a
-
spirit of fear bout power, love and self discipline. God
-
wants to heal us in the area of our mind,
-
not to overthink an over complicated process, not to just
-
look at the natural like the tense spires.
-
They say, this lens is filled with giants. Impossible.
-
But if we knew our mind with self discipline, because
-
although this is what we see, but what God says
-
is very different. We could be ill in a body.
-
That doesn't mean we can cannot still serve the Lord.
-
No well in our body, that doesn't mean that it's
-
going to stop us from praising God. People say, if
-
we care pass a certain age, therefore we are restricted
-
to it. But who sits So if God never said it,
-
that's not our.
-
Future of friends. Let's close our eyes right now.
-
Amen, Thank you Lord Father, We recognize Lord all of
-
us here do go to our daily betters. All of
-
us here do go to our daily betters, our daily struggles,
-
our daily warfare, and sometimes in our hearts, in our minds,
-
we are so overwhelmed with the armies, with the cherishs,
-
with the horses, because Lord, there are more than us.
-
They are more than us.
-
Somebody are so pressured because of the lack that we
-
have people these days. Lord, you know that they are
-
double degrees, triple degrees, and sometimes you just only go one.
-
And we are pressured because we felt that we're not
-
good enough. And I pray the Lord that you listen
-
to hearts today, where by Lord, you're reminding us not
-
the look at the cherists and the horses of the army,
-
but you're reminding us again to look towards you. The
-
Lord is with you. The Lord is with you. Because
-
the Lord is with Youew friends, you should have peace
-
because the Lord is reviewed. You should have rest because
-
the Lord is with you. You should have a future
-
and a hope. The Lord's reminding you all these years
-
in your life, you could have been overwhelmed, drowned, life
-
taken away, but it's the Lord that sustained you.
-
The Lord was the one that brought the churn of Egypt.
-
The job is off of Egypt.
-
The Lord, the same Lord that brings a tune up
-
from Egypt, will deliver.
-
You as well.
-
So I pray right now, Father, the name of Jesus,
-
we recognized, recognize and declare right now by faith from
-
second Timothy, that you did not give us the spirit
-
of fear.
-
Lord.
-
Next year, we do not want to operate by fear.
-
Lord as we and this year, we don't want to
-
end this year by fear. As we go from this place.
-
You do not want to go from this place by fear.
-
But Lord, with one faith, we one faith. Lord, So
-
I pray that you will help us.
-
Lord. This is all that we have.
-
This is our two minds, our two couple coins. But
-
in you you can multiply it. Lord.
-
This is our talents. Lord. It may not be much,
-
but with you can use it to make an impact. Lord.
-
This is our life. Lord.
-
We not be plant a But Lord, while we are
-
planned b with the ability to serve you. With that, Lord,
-
I know that you can do wonders. So I pray
-
that we don't look at our old strength. Love, We
-
do not look at our old life and just say
-
that we are nothing, but Lord, with you we have everything.
-
So we declare right now we receive your spirit or power,
-
because not by might, not by power, but by your spirit.
-
We do not preach or saving eloquent words. But Lord,
-
our speaking comes and season with power.
-
Lord.
-
So I pray as well, Lord, that you understand what
-
perfect love is in our lives, that that it cants
-
out Fear. Lord, that you bring us to a place
-
of maturity, a place of understand a place went by
-
our faith growing you even more. And you help us
-
in the area of our mind. Lord, that's right, help us, Lord,
-
the area of our mind. Lord, to have to be
-
self disciplined the way we think. Lord, I know sometimes
-
even as believers, the sound of dripping water in the
-
basic frightens us.
-
But I do also know that Lord, fear works in
-
the area of our mind. That you help us to
-
us sound mind.
-
Help us to be self disciplined, not to focus on
-
the negative, but to focus on the positive, to focusing
-
on Christ. Father in the name of Jesus. I pray
-
that some of us here do not focus on our mistakes,
-
but on our future in You.
-
Lord.
-
So I pray right Now, as sweet draw this year
-
to a close, I pray that we do not do
-
these years with fear. But we're going to enter the
-
new year with faith. So I pray Lord, faith for
-
a rise in this place. Faith to see our family
-
