  1. You're listening to a message to go from as church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your tea.

  3. Right. So what was the team of the play just now?

  4. Knock knock? Okay, it was knock knock? And when a

  5. lot of times, right, when we do a knock knock,

  6. what do we say? Who's there? And after that you

  7. go on to the punchline, which is the joke, right,

  8. the joke I don't knock knock jokes. I should have

  9. prepared one, right. But the whole team for today's play

  10. earlier on was this maybe I'll get the first slide up, okay,

  11. And the title of the word that I'm sharing today

  12. is got room. So turn to your neighbor and say,

  13. do you have room? Got room or not any of

  14. y'all in your house? You have an empty room. Wow, Alexica,

  15. empty room? Right, So a lot of us when we

  16. start you the whole play it was about letting Jesus in.

  17. Right.

  18. Jesus was knocking on the door. Uh. And Jesus is

  19. always looking to come into our lives, so he knocks

  20. on our door and most of the time what happens

  21. we say no because there is no space. So when

  22. you have room. Again, is your room filled up or

  23. is it empty? Do you have space for God? Right?

  24. So you saw just now when Timothy he was dressed

  25. up like the businessman. God gave him that five million

  26. dollar contract, but after that he had no room for

  27. God because he was busy. Right. So today I want

  28. to speak to us, especially first of all, if you're

  29. a Christian, right, if you're a Christian, I'm want to

  30. ask all of us have we made room for Jesus? Right?

  31. Or do we only have room for him during Christmas

  32. and for the rest of us. If you're visiting us,

  33. you can follow along with us and say and later, right,

  34. you will be given an opportunity to say that, Hey, Jesus,

  35. I think I want you in my life. You know,

  36. because there is so many things that, so many reasons

  37. why Jesus is the reason for the season this year

  38. and every Christmas. Okay, so the next light making room

  39. for Jesus. So when you saw just now the innkeepers

  40. had no vacancy for Jesus. Correct, you have no vacancy

  41. for Jesus. And why is it that you don't have vacancy?

  42. Any reason why you do not have any space? What

  43. is the main reason why we run out of space.

  44. It's because we fill it with something else. There will

  45. always be space, but it is always filled up with

  46. something else. Okay, And today I wanted to share a story.

  47. It's actually three points on the different things that will

  48. take up space in our lives, especially during Christmas and

  49. throughout the rest of the year. Right, there will be

  50. so many different things, but today I only broke it

  51. down into three piece. So it's simple for y'all to understand,

  52. simple for us for me to understand, because this is

  53. something I realized that, Hey, do I make room for God?

  54. I am here preaching or sharing the word of God,

  55. but I have I made room for God? You know?

  56. Is God still the center of my life? So all

  57. of us have twenty How many hours in a day?

  58. Does everyone have twenty four? The President of the United

  59. States has how many hours in a day? Twenty four?

  60. How many hours in a day? There's live I have, LEVI,

  61. how many hours you have in a day? Okay, he's

  62. not very sure. Okay, it's twenty four, LEVI remember that

  63. all right. So, whether you're the president of the United

  64. States or whether you are a kid, all of us

  65. have twenty four hours. And that twenty four hours. We

  66. choose what is important to us. When we feel that

  67. twenty four hours, we filled it with what is important

  68. to us. And you know that right now. If you

  69. ask anybody, or most people, hey, so, how's work, how's life?

  70. What's the what's the one of the most common things

  71. that they will say, huh okay, some people say okay.

  72. A lot of people who I asked, they will say

  73. very busy. You ask a kid orso they will say,

  74. very busy. You know. Now, also kids was all saying, well,

  75. very stressed. So whether again, whether you're the president or

  76. where you're a kid, we have the same amount of time,

  77. and we choose what to fill that time with, right,

  78. And most of the time we make things for what

  79. is important to us. Okay, so you make things for

  80. what is important to you. So what is important? What

  81. are some of the things that is important to you?

  82. You're like, how many likes exercising? No, so nobody got

  83. room for exercise because you don't like it. But if

  84. you say, hey, how many of y'all like to sleep?

  85. Or always I got, I will make room for sleep, right,

  86. you will make room for what is important to you. Right.

  87. And if you have Okay, for those of us who

  88. maybe you liked a guy or you liked a girl before. Right,

  89. suddenly that person becomes the center. Everything that you do

  90. revolves around that person. You make space. Everything else is

  91. not important. Right. You make space for that person, and

  92. because of that, that person becomes very important. Right. How

  93. many of you all had a car breakdown recently? Do

  94. you have a car breakdown recently? So when your car

  95. breaks down, before your car breaks down? Right, if I

  96. ask how many of y'all have time to bring your

  97. car to the workshop, you say no, timeline, I got

  98. no time to bring the car to the workshop. But

  99. at the moment your car breaks down, what do you

  100. do You find time? You find time to bring it

  101. to the workshop, because suddenly it is important. And this

  102. is the same with Jesus. Most of the time we

  103. know that Jesus is important. He is God, He is

  104. to be the center of our lives. But why is

  105. it difficult for us to find room for him? Is

  106. it because he is? Is he our priority? Or not? Right?

  107. So today, like what I mentioned, there will be three

  108. points that usually takes up space in our rooms. Okay,

  109. so the first point, next light, the first room filler,

  110. Remember the title of the room is got room. The

  111. first room filler is plans. How many have Christmas plans?

  112. You'll have Christmas plans. All of us have plans. And

  113. when we have plans, we plan what we plan to

  114. do this coming up for lunch, what we plan to

  115. do in the coming year, what we plan, what our

  116. kids do, we plan for our holidays. We have a

  117. lot of plans and sometimes these plans take Because of

  118. these plans, we plan our life according to it. Our

  119. plans become our priority. Right. So I wanted to take

  120. us through some verses from the Bible. Okay, thanks, So

  121. this is from Luke one. So Luke one. It talks

  122. about Mary. So, Mary, we know is the mother of Jesus,

  123. and Mary had plans. She had plans like you and me.

  124. All right, and let's see what happens. So the Angel

  125. said to her, do not be afraid, Mary, for you

  126. have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive

  127. in your womb and bring forth a son, and call

  128. his name Jesus. He will be great and will be

  129. called the Son of the Highest, and the Lord God

  130. will give him the throne of his father David. And

  131. he will reign over the house of Jacob forever and

  132. of his kingdom, there will be no end. Then Mary

  133. said to the Angel, how can this be? Since I

  134. do not know a man? Okay, so I give you

  135. a bay of contacts. Mary was probably in her mid

  136. teens or close to a campus student at that time,

  137. so at that time they married quite young, right, and

  138. Mary was engaged to who Joseph, So she had a plan.

  139. She wanted to get married to Joseph. She wanted to

  140. have a wedding and then have kids. But what happened

  141. to her plans? And angel appeared to her and said

  142. that you are going to bear Jesus. And what did

  143. Mary say? How can this be? Since I have not

  144. known a man? So the word known here is she

  145. has not married Joseph, so how can she conceive? How

  146. can she conceive? So Mary's plans were up in the air. Again.

  147. It was still a choice. It was still a choice

  148. for Mary whether she wanted to follow God's plan or

  149. she wanted to follow her plan. So what did Mary reply?

  150. Next nighte and the Angel answered and said to her,

  151. the Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power

  152. of the Highest will overshadow you. Therefore, also, the Holy

  153. One who is to be born will be called Son

  154. of God. Then Mary said, behold the maid servant of

  155. the Lord. Let it be to me according to your word.

  156. And the angel departed from her. So Mary chose to

  157. go along with God's plans. Can you imagine this. You're

  158. about to be married and your fiance is Joseph, and

  159. the Angel appears to you and say, hey, you're going

  160. to have a baby. How would you respond? Would you respond?

  161. So imagine if Mary had to go and tell Joseph, Hey, Joseph,

  162. I know we're gonna get married, but you know what,

  163. I'm already carrying a baby and it's God's son. How

  164. would Joseph respond? You know, it's like all her plans

  165. are suddenly changed. But you see how Mary responded. Mary said,

  166. behold the maid servant of the Lord. Let it be

  167. to me according to your word. And the Angel departed

  168. from her. She says, okay, God, your plans. I will

  169. go with your plans. She made room for God by

  170. allowing God to come in and change her plans. Okay.

  171. And if you see in the next verse, and Mary said,

  172. my soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced

  173. in God, my savior, for he has regarded the lowly

  174. state of the maid servant. For behold, henceforth all generations

  175. shall call me blessed, for He is mighty, has done

  176. great things for me, and holy is his name. So

  177. when God went and changed Mary's plans? How did she respond?

  178. She didn't get angry. She didn't get frustrated. A lot

  179. of times when we make our plans and our plans

  180. are changed or destroyed, what happens? We get so angry

  181. and frustrated, and we get sometimes we even blame God.

  182. We said that God, how come I plan all this?

  183. I thought, this is your will? How come all these changed?

  184. But you see from Mary, when her plans changed, she says,

  185. my her soul magnifies the Lord. And she says that

  186. my spirit has rejoiced to God, my savior. So can

  187. you imagine this? When God changed her plans, she rejoiced.

  188. How can you rejoice when God changed your plans? She

  189. rejoiced because she knew that God is a good God.

  190. She knew who God was, and she knew that although

  191. she has plans, God's plans are always better. God's plans

  192. are always greater. So when sometimes God knocks on our

  193. doors and it changes our plans. Do we get angry

  194. with him? Do we get frustrated? Or we say, God,

  195. I will follow your plans because your plans are good.

  196. Your plans. You are a faithful God, and you will

  197. provide because the promises are said in Jeremiah nineteen eleven,

  198. Next life, For I know the plans I have for you,

  199. says the Lord. They are plans for good and not

  200. for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

  201. This is why Mary could rejoice when her plan failed,

  202. because she trusted God's plans. When we make room for

  203. God and open the door and he changes our plans,

  204. do we rejoice? Because if we rejoice, then we regard

  205. him as God, and we know that God is a

  206. good God. His plans are good and not for disaster,

  207. to give you a future and a hope. Right, So

  208. this morning, right, there was also some drama that happened

  209. this morning. Right, I'm not sure that there's a I

  210. want to show you a bit of drama that happened

  211. this morning. So is it showing? Right? So y'all are

  212. all sitting here very comfortable and stuff like that, Right,

  213. But just two hours before this, it was a totally

  214. different story. This was the ballroom two hours ago. Right,

  215. We were all getting ready to come to church, and

  216. then suddenly we get a text and say that, hey,

  217. the ballroom is occupied. We are not able to meet here.

  218. You know, suddenly the plans changed. And then there's a

  219. lot of tax going back and forth, a lot of

  220. phone calls. How did we respond? We, I mean a

  221. few of us, all of us was We still say

  222. that God, you are in control. We might have had

  223. to use a small room, but we know that God

  224. your plans are good. And within two hours we transformed

  225. this whole place into now where you're sitting. So give

  226. a hand for those who have come early and just

  227. put it all together. I tell you later I will

  228. share a story about how our plans right now. Right,

  229. I don't really plan, really, I think God, God, you

  230. are in control, all right, And you can see that

  231. this is a testimony. Do you know that today we

  232. have more people than we have ever seen in ex clanging.

  233. So God, we can plan. But God's plans are good

  234. and God is the one God will give us a

  235. future and a hope. So this morning, if you are

  236. here and you feel that hey, my plans I have planned.

  237. It has all gone down a drain. I've lost hope.

  238. I tell you this morning that God is a good God,

  239. and if you open your door to him, he will

  240. give you a future and a hope. Okay. So the

  241. first room filler was plans, so don't worry if your

  242. plans are down the drain. Okay. The second one. So,

  243. after you have plans, you got problems? How many of y'all?

  244. Your planner your plan goes exactly one hundred percent. Then

  245. you are a super planner. You plan exactly. Your plans

  246. go one hundred percent. Okay, So let me read from

  247. Luke one. Okay. So after Mary found out she was pregnant,

  248. and then Joseph also, God revealed his plans to Joseph,

  249. so they decided to get married, and now Mary was due. Okay,

  250. ex clang, quite fruitful. A lot of the ladies here

  251. have been pregnant before. There's always there's always babies. We

  252. are always celebrating babies and baby dedications and stuff like it.

  253. So think about it this way. You are eight months pregnant.

  254. You're eight months pregnant or probably nine months. I think

  255. it's probably nine months pregnant and you are supposed suddenly

  256. that Houman issued a decree you need to go back

  257. to your hometown and register yourself. Okay, if your hometown

  258. was in Perlace. Just imagine sitting in the car for

  259. seven hours, eight hours going down the police how would

  260. you feel? You feel uncomfortable? Right, Mary had to sit

  261. on a donkey, eight or nine months pregnant and go

  262. from Nazareth to Bethlehem. That is about I think about

  263. one hundred and fifty miles. There's a donkey walk or

  264. run a donkey walks, so it was an agonizing slow

  265. walk for Mary and Joseph. Right, so I read here.

  266. So Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the

  267. city of Nazareth into Judea, into the city of David,

  268. which is called Bethlehem because he was of the house

  269. of the lineage of David. So to be registered with Mary,

  270. he betrothed his wife, who was with child. So it

  271. was that while they were there, the days were completed

  272. for her to be delivered, and she brought forth her

  273. firstborn son, wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him

  274. in a manger because there was no room for him

  275. in the Inn. So imagine Mary. How would Mary have felt?

  276. She was carrying the son of God. She had to

  277. make a painful journey, and she had to deliver her

  278. baby without any of her relatives around her. Her mom

  279. was not there, she didn't have a midwife. I mean,

  280. there was none mentioned in the Bible about hygiene. She

  281. had to deliver in a manger. So she was faced

  282. with so many problems. And a lot of times, when

  283. we are faced with a lot of problems, we say

  284. that God, I don't believe in your plan anymore. Your

  285. plans are giving me a lot of problems and headache.

  286. So I don't want to follow your plans. I will

  287. close the door to you. But you can see that

  288. for Joseph and Mary, because they knew who God was

  289. and they prioritized God's plan, they still went along. They

  290. still say that God, you are in control, all right.

  291. Apart from that, they also faced other problems. What was

  292. the other problem they faced next verse? The other problem

  293. that they want to they will face is there was

  294. somebody out to kill their son. You think you got problems.

  295. Imagine you're just giving birth to your son, who is

  296. the son of God, and there is somebody out. Somebody

  297. who is really powerful out there to kill your son?

  298. What do you do? When they heard the king, they departed.

  299. So this was the wise man they were looking for Jesus.

  300. They departed, and behold, the star which they had seen

  301. in the east, went before them till it came and

  302. stood over where the young child was. And when they

  303. saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And

  304. when they had come into the house they saw the

  305. young child with Mary his mother fell down and worshiped him.

  306. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts

  307. to him gold Frankinson's and Mr. Then, being Divine, finally

  308. warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod.

  309. They departed for their own country another way. So you

  310. can see, right, even when they following God's plans doesn't

  311. mean that we do not have problems. We have problems,

  312. but God is in control. Because if you see the

  313. verse here, verse twelve, being divinely warned in a dream,

  314. no matter who is against you, if God is for you,

  315. no weapon formed against you will prosper. If God wants

  316. you alive, you are alive no matter what people throw

  317. your way, So don't worry if your plans have changed.

  318. Don't worry if you're faced with problem. As long as

  319. we are following what God wants us to do, he

  320. is in control. Right, and the promise in the Bible

  321. says next verse Philippians four. So Philippians four, when we

  322. are faced with problems, the first thing we do is worry. Right,

  323. the Bible says, don't worry about anything. Instead, pray about everything.

  324. Tell God what you need, thank him for all he

  325. has done. Then you will experience God's peace with exceeds

  326. anything we can understand. His peace will God your hearts

  327. and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now,

  328. dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts

  329. on what is true, honorable, right, and pure, lovely and admirable.

  330. Think of things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

  331. Kick putting into practice all you have learned and received

  332. from me, every thing you heard from me and saw

  333. me doing. Then the God of Peace will be with you.

  334. If you know that the God of Peace with is

  335. with you, no matter what comes your way, you have peace.

  336. You can have all the riches of the world and

  337. not have peace, and you will feel not complete, but

  338. with the God of peace. When problems come away, and

  339. when we open the door to him, he will give

  340. us peace. And peace is one of the things that

  341. everyone in the world is looking for. Do you know

  342. that they look for peace either through money, through sex,

  343. through drugs, through position, through power. Why because you want

  344. to be in control. But if we something ourselves and

  345. say that God, you are in control, and you know

  346. that he has a good plan for you, you will be

  347. at peace. So that's the second thing that we have

  348. to be aware of. And the third point the room

  349. feels sometimes when the problems don't draw us away from God,

  350. you know what draws us away from God prosperity. And

  351. that was the example that was just now shown in

  352. the play. Sometimes God blesses us, we pray to him,

  353. God blesses us, and when we blesses us, we forget

  354. about him. And then we say, God, I think you've

  355. done your part. Now leave it to me. You know.

  356. So prosperity is a test of character. Do we still

  357. believe in God? Or do we believe in our riches?

  358. So the vers here next slight So Matthew two again

  359. this the three Wise Men. After Jesus was born in

  360. Bethlehem and of Judea. In the days of Herod the

  361. King Behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying,

  362. where is he who has been born King of the Jews?

  363. For we have seen his star in the east and

  364. have come to worship him. These wise men, they were rich,

  365. they were one of the richest people on earth, but

  366. they still left everything to seek God. So they didn't

  367. allow their riches, their titles to say that, a I

  368. have arrived, I have everything I need. I don't need

  369. God anymore. They still knew that, hey, God is still

  370. the most important thing I need. And do you know

  371. how long the wise men traveled for I think they

  372. said it was close to two years. They traveled from

  373. the east to the west looking for God. And that's

  374. why they say, for we have seen his star in

  375. the east, and what they have come to do. They

  376. have come to worship Him. So they they didn't put

  377. their faith and trust in things, but they still knew

  378. that God is the one that provided for them. He

  379. has done it before and he will do it again,

  380. and that's why they seek to worship him. So do

  381. we close the door to God once we have everything

  382. that we need? Do we treat God as a genie

  383. or do we treat God as God? Because if we

  384. treat God as a genie, once we get everything we want,

  385. we say that, Okay, you've done your part, now let

  386. me do my part. And you say, God, you're not

  387. important anymore. And that's what stops us from inviting God

  388. into our hearts. So but what does the Bible say

  389. firstimoty six, next verse? But the people who long to

  390. be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many

  391. and foolish, harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.

  392. For the love of money is the root of all

  393. kinds of evil, and some people craving money have wandered

  394. from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrow.

  395. So again, money is not evil. But the love of

  396. money is one of the why the most walls start.

  397. It's because of money the world. There is so much

  398. war and fighting going on. It's because of money and power.

  399. So what the Bible says is true, if you love it,

  400. it will bring you destruction. But if you love God,

  401. you have a future and a hope. So what would

  402. you want. Do you want destruction or do you want

  403. a future and a hope. You know you can have

  404. wealth and a future and a hope. You know how

  405. by putting our faith in God and knowing that no

  406. matter what comes away, we will have ups and downs,

  407. but God is in control. Right, So even as I

  408. just draw towards a close, so the summarize, right, these

  409. are the three points that I've shared. Making room for Jesus.

  410. His plans are greater and they are good. If we

  411. recognize these three truths right, we will of course make

  412. room for God. Why wouldn't you want to make room

  413. for God when you know that his plans are greater

  414. and they are good. Second one, the peace of God

  415. will be with us through it all. How many of

  416. us needs peace? I need peace. I'm telling you every

  417. day I need peace. Every day I need peace. And

  418. if I need peace, I need to let Jesus into

  419. my life. And the third part is seek God and

  420. He will give us everything we need, not everything we want,

  421. but everything we need. So looking at these three truths,

  422. would you want to say, God, I have room for you.

  423. Come into my life. God has a good plan for you.

  424. He will provide for all your needs, and he will

  425. give you the peace that surpasses all understanding to God

  426. our hearts. So even as I draw to wes close,

  427. I invite the band up. I just wanted to share

  428. a story as a family, so someone we all may know,

  429. someone we all may not know. So as I was preparing,

  430. we are coming towards the end of the year, right,

  431. So I was looking back at the year. Then I

  432. was thinking, wow, December twenty twenty three, December twenty three,

  433. can you all remember December twenty Industree, what you'all were

  434. doing and stuff like that. It's good to take stock.

  435. So let me tell us what our journey. So in

  436. December twenty three, we as a family, we were going

  437. through different stages of our lives. First of all, there

  438. were there was there were a lot of challenges when

  439. it came to parenting. Right. If y'all know, you'll know

  440. a lot of it is in Spotify in my other

  441. sermons that I shared. We were facing a lot of

  442. challenges in parenting, right. Uh. It really took an emotional

  443. toll on us. It took a financial toll on nurse. Yeah,

  444. it really cost a lot of strife. Apart from that,

  445. suddenly we found ourselves a single income family because at

  446. that time, Jazz Company went through some restructuring and suddenly

  447. I was the sole breadwinner at that time. And to

  448. top it all off, we suddenly found ourselves not having

  449. a school for one of our kids because it just

  450. wasn't the right fit and we couldn't we couldn't find

  451. the right school because of the different needs and challenges

  452. that he was facing. So in December last year, all

  453. that was going through our minds, all that was going

  454. through our plan. So when we look at it, I

  455. was like, how do I even plan for twenty twenty four?

  456. How do I even plan for twenty twenty four? I

  457. can't plan. Everything is not going according to plan. But

  458. what we did as a family said that God, you

  459. are in control. You are in control. Our plans have failed,

  460. We're going through so many problems, but Lord, you are

  461. going You are a God that will supply for every

  462. meed and you know what to find at school. Al

  463. So it will cost us a bomb. It will cost

  464. us like probably five times what we're paying right now

  465. to find a school to cater for those needs. So

  466. it really took a huge But even as we surrendered God,

  467. I said that God, I'm going to let go and

  468. let God, because even if I worry about it, I

  469. can't do anything. But God, I'm going to claim to

  470. your promises. Your promises is that you are a good God.

  471. You will give us a future and hope, and you

  472. will provide for our every need in church, I just

  473. wanted to testify. Then, you know that we actually found

  474. a school, found a school with teachers who utually look

  475. at him and care for him and nurture him in

  476. such a way that it was even difficult for us

  477. as parents. But they have that sort of passion for him.

  478. Apart from that, just found a job and it was

  479. a job that paid her even more than what she

  480. was let go previously. And although she was in between jobs,

  481. the company that let her go still paid her bonus,

  482. still paid her bonus, and that is unheard of. I mean,

  483. you left the company for a few months, Why should

  484. I pay you? You know, but the company is still

  485. paid bonus. And if you ask me, how is it

  486. all possible? How is it that we are still standing

  487. right here? It's because we believe in God's plans. He's

  488. a good God. He has a future and a hope

  489. for us whatever will come our way. He is in

  490. control and what we want is peace, because I'd rather

  491. have the peace of God with problems then no peace

  492. and no problems. And above our I know He will

  493. supply all our needs according to His riches in glory.

  494. So this morning, even as we have heard the word,

  495. are you ready to let Jesus into your life? Do

  496. you have room for Jesus? First of all, Christians are

  497. speaking to you as well. Let's not just be Christians

  498. by whatever we feel in in a form, but Christian

  499. is little Christ and you're putting Christ at the center

  500. of our lives. Have we pushed Jesus out? If we have,

  501. Let's let him back in. Let's clear things that are

  502. not meant to be there. Let's make room for Jesus.

  503. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more
