The Power of the Resurrections From Death to Life | Pr Ronson

We hope this message will light up your day.

So today's message is the power of resurrection from death

to life. Allow me to read a portion of scripture

taken from the Book of Mark, chapter sixteen, verses one

to seven. If you have your bible, you can turn

to that scripture as well. Okay, can you put my

bible near because can't see right? Okay, Amen, what's one now?

When the Sabbath was passed, Mary Magdalene Marry the mother

of James and Salom bought spices that they might come

and anointed him. Let's pause there for a while. In

Good Friday, we commemorated the redemptive work of Jesus that

through the Cross of Calvary, Jesus have reconsolates back to

the Father. Now, make no mistake. The Word of God

says that there is one man and one mediator, and

that man is Jesus himself. And we knew that sin

separated us from God, because the Word about says that

while we were seiness, God sent his only beloved son

for us. The wages of sin is death, but eternal

life comes from Jesus. So mankind needs a savior. No

other name that can save. The Bible says except the

name of Jesus. So we know that when Jesus was crucified,

he gave up his life, and they put Jesus into

a new tomb on that day. So as we read

in verse one, it was the third day. There's these

individuals entered into the tomb. They wanted to anoint Jesus

with spices. In words two, it says, very early in

the morning on the first day of the week, they

came to the tomb when the sun had reason. Praise God.

The sun reason, and the sun knows have reason if

you get the pun right as o and has reason

as well. And they said among themselves, who will roll

away the stone from the door of the tomb forests,

we know that the stone was very large. How large

it was so large that they had a concern on

who will roll away the stone for them. Now, prophetically,

I want to say to some of you this morning,

there are seven stones in our life that only God

can roll away for you. No matter how much strength

you will want to roll away that stone, you will

not be able to because you and I are near

mortals before God. In other words, there are challenges in

our life that only God can see us true. Can

he an amen? Today? Maybe this morning you may came

into church feeling a bit confused. You may came in

feeling a bit down. You may came in having a

form of death in you because the stone was still there,

and you find yourself in the tomb, not having the

strength to come out of the tomb. Today, the law

wants you to know the stone in front of you

will be rolled away. Can hear an amen? It was for?

But when they looked up, they saw that the stone

had been rolled away, for it was very large. Amen.

The stone was rolled away, And entering the tomb, they

saw a young man clothed in a long white robe

sitting on the right side. And they were alarmed, ver six.

But he said to them, do not be alarmed. You

seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. His reason, he's

not here, see the place where they laid him. But

go tell his disciples and Peter. Now you might be

wondering why specifically Peter. Jesus had twelve disciples, one betrayed him,

But yet there's only one that was named by the Angel.

Go and tell the disciples and Peter. Most of you

would be familiar with this. That Peter denied Jesus four

three times. Jesus told Peter before the rooster, thank you

very much. We'll crow three times. You will deny me.

So if you put yourself in Peter's shoe when you

deny Jesus despite following him for three years, and when

you saw the Lord being hung at the cross, pain

would have filled your heart because you have betrayed the

very person that saved you. Maybe it's some of us

this morning they felt like a Peter. We're here in church,

but our walk with God hasn't been the most pleasant one.

Maybe our heart has grown cold. Maybe we too have

betrayed the Lord or denied the Lord one way or another.

But the message of today is that there is a

hope in Jesus, as an angel told the ladies there,

tell Peter, perhaps I may not be like an angel,

but he have sent me to tell you that he

loves you. He loves you, He remembers you, just like

how he remembers Peter. Despite Peter denying him not just

one time, not just two times, but three times. It

doesn't matter how far you have been away from the Lord.

It doesn't matter how how bad you think you have become.

But in the Lord he remembers, And today there is

an invitation for you to come back to him. Can

I hear an amen? But go tell his disciples and

Peter that he is going before you into Galilee. There

you will see him as he said to you. As

we celebrate resurrection Sunday, The Lord wants you to know

that the resurrection is more than an event. He wants

you this morning to experience his resurrection power. Remember, Jesus

is not found in the tomb. He is alive. In fact,

Scripture says that he is right now at the right

hand of the Father, seated in his majesty and glory

interceeding for you and me. That the presence of Jesus

is with us this morning, true, the presence and the

power of his spirit. So, as I mentioned earlier, if

there is a form of death in your heart and

your spirit today. You used to be a very joyable person,

but this is you don't smile anymore these days. The

joy was robbed from you. You used to be a

very hopeful and an optimistic person, but these days is

very hard for you to find hope again. You know,

life happens. Jesus did not promise us when we believed

in him, our life will be a walk in the park,

or we will be slipping on a bait full of roses.

The fact that while we are on earth there will

be challenges, the fact that while we are on earth

there will be shot comings. But one thing Jesus did

promise to those who would believe in him that in

the good times he will be with us. In the

bad times, he will also be with us. Amen, So

there's hope. There is hope. When I was twenty years old,

I came to know the Lord. Prior to that, I

always believe that there is a God, and I always

compare myself to people who are worse off than me,

meaning I don't kill, I don't do bad stuff that

is against the law, and a God would have accepted

me anyway. And I grew up having this exposure to

Christianity because I had a believing uncle that while when

we go on a holiday, I used to stay in Joha,

but we come up to slangle over the Holy I

will be dragged to church like literally, like how you

dreg a dog who wants to go there, but you

want to go here on the leach. Yeah. But I

thank God for these memories because these became the core

memories that I had eventually when I was saved. The

memories of singing in church, the memories of attending Sunday

school very important ex kids, very very important. Today, It

still lingers in my mind, but at twenty years old.

My dad passed away at the age of fifty six

years old. He was a good man, but yet he

struggled in being an alcoholic. The reason of his death

was liver failure due to excessive drinking. My dad can

have hard liquor for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and supper without

taking any thing, and that killed him. As I grow further,

I realized that Dad was struggling in an internal pain,

that substance became his way of release. Substance became his

way of escape. So twenty years old, my dad passed away.

The only believer in my family back then was my sister.

She tense acts church, and as a family we were

shocked because it was less than a year after his retirement.

Back then, retirement age was fifty five years old. Now

he's sixty, maybe in future sixty five, in future seventy,

I don't know. So less than a year after he retired,

he passed away and we were contemplating how should we

do a funeral, because at one point that was a Hindu,

but towards the final few years of his life he

never really practiced Hinduism and we thought maybe he had

became a free thinker, and as a family, we decided,

why don't we go with the Christian funeral? Now no

offense to a Hindu funeral, just that as a family,

we find that we need something that is simple, something

that is not too ritualistic in nature. So we decided

to ask my sister, who asked pascanav whether the church

can come around to support the family in a funeral

and in awake service. And they came on ten May

two or four. They came around me, They came around

our family and we did the Whig service right at

our car potch, were a small car potch, And I

remember dead night my family appointed me, being the youngest child,

to share in eulogy about my dad. You see, the

night before he passed away, I never really had a

good closure with him. In fact, a few days before

he passed away. He was constantly in the state of

being drunk. So if there's any one of you who

are facing the same challenge like me, I understand how

it felt when Dad is drunk and when Dad is

not himself. So when it passed away, there is a

lot of regret, a lot of remorse in my heart.

I felt condemned because I didn't treated my dad rightly.

So when I stood up, just like this crowd holding

a piece of eulogy paper, I find myself not being

able to articulate whatever has been written in the script.

I cried so hard until I do not have strength.

I know maybe it's some of us. We may have

been in that position where grieved have entered our heart

to a point where we no longer had tears to flow.

I was at that state. And then when I look

on my I realized on that night there was a

presence next to me. I couldn't describe it. I couldn't

explain that experience except to look at my right knowing

that there was someone, but I couldn't see it. Soon

I felt someone gripping my hand literally and there was

a very strong radiance, hit sensation, and from their strength

entered into my inner call and I began to articulate

whatever I need to share right after the week service.

I share it with no one except that I share

it with my sister because she is a Christian. When

I began to share this experience to my sister, my

sister asked me a few questions. Could it be that

you were very tense and it affected you physiologically? Say

that no, Sister, I played tennis the best spot ever.

I know the difference between a tense muscle, a cram,

and something that I felt earlier. There is a different sensation.

And on ten May four she shed to me about Jesus,

and I gave my heart to Jesus on that day,

without fully knowing who this Jesus was. On eleventh May

two o four, the night after I became a child

of God again, I heard a voice while I was showering,

like outside showering. The water was flowing, and this voice

was very condemning to me. He says that, ronson, you

didn't treat your dad well, why don't you take your

own life? You see, my heart was laden with condemnation.

My heart was laden with pain. The voice came in

by the grace of God again, I go to my sister.

She prayed for me, and my body was just shivering

and shaking. And I really believe that the presence of

Jesus was with us back then, and that moment taught

me this one thing which I'm going to share with

you as one of today's points, that even when we

are at the valley of our death, Jesus can still

meet us. You probably remember some Journey three because back

then I didn't read the Bible right. But when I

became a Christian, I know hunger for his word, and

some Journey three became alive. Yeah, though I walked through

the shadow of the valley of death, I will fear

no evil because you are with me. Maybe some of

us are in that situation where we are walking through

the shadow of the valley of death. But I want

to remind you that this morning, the resurrected King is

with you. Maybe your circumstances and your situation is different

for me, Maybe it's harvest. We are still believing for

our next fee to be paid, that our family are

struggling to accumulate funds for our studies, maybe for serves.

Our family may not be intact may not be as

united savas. We have tried many things in our career

only end up to be still failing. Perhaps maybe it's Halves.

Nottingham wasn't your first choice of studies. You always wanted

to go to America. You always wanted to go to Australia,

you always wanted to go to Europe. But because of

financial circumstances in your family, you ended up here and

you felt that something has been taken out of you

in our life. When I read the characters in the Bible,

I've come to realize that nothing can happen unless God

allowed it to be. I question why God, at the

age of fifty six, my dad was taken away? Maybe

you have very real question why God am I in

this situation? Have I not been faithful? Have I not

been praying? Have I not been dot dot dot dot?

You feel in the blank. But the romance encourages us

that all things works for good to those who love God,

to those who would be called according to His purpose.

And one of the goodness that can come out of

your belief in God is this that out of death

there is always so. Jesus says that he is the resurrection,

and he is the life. He makes this claim in

the Book of John chapter eleven. You're familiar with the

story of Lazarus being dad for four days in the tomb,

and when Martha came and told Jesus, Lord, if you

are here, my brother would not have died. That's when

Jesus made the claim, I am the Resurrection, I am

the live. Do you believe in this? Jesus was in

the tomb three days, Lazarus probably more than one day

after him four days. You know what that tells me.

It doesn't matter how long one can be in the tomb,

because that is not the determinant of the resurrection power

of Jesus. And understand that the resurrection is not just

a power. The resurrection is not just a state. The

resurrection is a person, and that person is Jesus. Maybe

this morning, instead of just asking the Lord Lord, could

you resurrect this dream again? Could you resurrect this hope again?

Could you resurrect this faith again? Instead of focusing on

his power, maybe the call for this morning is for

us to just focus on Jesus. Come to God for

who he is, not just for what he can do

for you. So he is the resurrection. Jesus is life

in a Book of John chapter one Versus one to four.

It's easier. In the beginning was the Word, and the

word was with God, and the Word was God. He

was in the beginning with God. All things were made

through him. Let me emphasize that all things were made

through him, and without him, nothing was made. That was made.

In him was life, and the life was the light

of men. No life, it's an accident. You and I

were made in and true Jesus. I know that these

days savas may be affected with our growing up. Maybe

we have been told before that we didn't plan for you,

you were an accident. Maybe we were told, although jokingly,

but when we were young, we take it literally that

you are being picked up from a dumpster. And because

of what is being told to us, it became in

grain in our spirit that it affected our self esteem,

it affected our identity. But what God says that you

are not an accident. Even if you are being told

up front we didn't plant for you, let me tell

you that God planted for you. Our parents loves us,

but they can never be as perfect as who God is.

So anchor your life in God. You have a handly

Father who loves you. You have a heavenly Father who

is the life, and here is the source of life.

Always remember, in God there is no death. There's no

death in God. Let me go to Christian funeral. We

always say see you again, because in Christian terms, when

someone passes away, they are asleep, because when they wake up,

they will wake up in eternity with God, and one

day we will see them again. So in God there

is no death. And when Jesus says he is the

resurrection and he is alive, this is the blessed assurance

that one can have. We are not a generation, or

we are not people without hope. Our hope is always living.

The resurrection proves who Jesus is. The First Corinthians fifteen fourteen.

It says, if Christ is not reason, then our preaching

is empty and your faith is also empty. X four

threatree with great power. The apostles gave weakness to the resurrection.

When you read the Book of x you realize that

whatever Jesus did in the Gospel, it was mirrored by

his disciples. Jesus healed the blind, the lame, those who

are paralytic. The disciples did that as well. Jesus raised

the death. The disciples also raise the date. This is

very important because when Jesus make a claim in my name,

you will heal the sick in my name, you will

rebuke the demon, and you will cast demons out. When

the disciples actually wan in by faith and prayed in

authority using the name of Jesus, and that there's actually miracles,

it proves only one thing that whatever Jesus said, it

is true, and if Jesus is not alive, healings will

not happen. Every religion has a founder, every religion has

a teacher, and most religions will encourage people to do good.

But there's only one man who have ever made that

claim to come from heaven, to take on the scene

of mankind and to make the claim that he will

rise again. And that man is Jesus. He is not

a fictional character. He is not a fantasy. Historically, his

life was recorded. Even if it is outside of the Bible,

it was still recorded by historians that there is a

man called Jesus and his tool is empty. So, in

other words, our faith or Christianity is grounded in truth

and not theories and concept Sometimes different teachers can give

us concept and theories, but they are unable to prove it.

But as Jesus says, he is the Way, the Truth,

and the Life, he have proved it. He proved that

he is the way because the disciples and many other

witnesses also saw him ascended back to heaven. He proved

that he is the truth because every claim that he

made he fulfilled it, and there is eye witnesses account.

He proved that he is the life by being raised

up again to life. So the faith that you have

understand that is being purchased also with the blood of Jesus.

That the faith that you have today is precious. Hold

on to your faith. Know that this morning you can

trust in Jesus in Romans six three to four, just

as Christ was raised, even so we also should walk

in the newness of life relatious too. Twenty six. It

is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.

This will be my last point for today. Often we

think that eternal life is just about one day making

it into heaven. That is eternal life. But let me

encourage you to experience the abundant life that Jesus has

promised you and me is today when we identify with

the newness of life that Jesus has given to us.

It basically means this, Before I was a Christian, my

spirit was dacked. My spirit was dormant. I cannot discern

the things of God. I cannot hear the voice of God.

There's no connection with God. Why because sin separated me

from God. At the age of twenty years old. When

I received Christ into my heart, make him my Lord

and Savior, the Bible says that He will come and

live in me through his spirit. That means my spirit

that is once dormant, my spirit that is one undead,

is now being awakened. It's now being brought to life,

so that now in my spirit, I can't pray to

God in my spirit, I can speak to God in

my spirit. I'm connected to God. That is the newness

of life that Jesus is promising to those who would

follow him. Many of you in this room today would

have your own testimony of how when you first believed

in Jesus, you just couldn't sleep because the joy in

your heart was just overflowing. You were in a dangerous situation,

but you can still sleep. You cannot explain it, but

that is because the work of the Spirit is in you.

The newness of life also speaks about this, that we

should do away with our old man, which is our

sinful nature, our canal men. While on earth we are

still living in a body. And as Paul says in

a Book of Roman, the good that I want to

do I don't want to do, But the bad that

I don't want to do I do, just paraphrasing, the

flesh will always war against the spirit. As men, as

women on earth, we will still be subjected to temptation.

We will still be subjected to different struggles that will

seek to rop us from our relationship with God. But

Jesus says in his resurrection power, we can overcome every addiction.

We can overcome every substance abuse, We can overcome any

correcter flaw because there's power in us. And the Book

of Romans says that the same power that resurrected Jesus

lives in us. Remember, Jesus did not call less to

be perfect. No one is righteous before God. This morning,

when God looks down from heaven, when he looks at you,

or when he looks at me, he don't just see ronson.

He don't just see ronson as a church plant coordinator.

You know what that's God see Primarily, you see Jesus

in you. He sees the righteousness of his son Jesus

in you. And because of the righteousness of Jesus, you

and I are made righteous. So give an analogy, which

is water baptism. Those of you who were being water baptized,

you probably be able to identify with this. But those

of you who are still considering water baptism, may this

point encourage you to take the step of obedience to

be water baptized. Now we know that water baptism is

a public declaration of our faith, that we are telling

the world I'm done with my old life. I'm now

pursuing Christ and I want to live for him. That's

why the song says, the world behind me, the Cross

before me, no turning back, no turning back. But essentially,

what baptism is your identification with the death of Jesus.

When you entered into the water, your past life is

being buried because you're identified with Jesus being in the tomb,

and when you rise up again from the water, it

represents the resurrection. It represents the newness of life that

God has given to you in Jesus. So always remember

eternal life is not just one day when I turned

nineteen nine years old and I I go to heaven.

But you can have eternal life now. Last point, at

extreme come up. The resurrection brings living hope. First bit

of one tree says to a living hope through the resurrection,

he who raised Christ will also give life to your

mortal bodies. I am by saying this, if Jesus did

not rise from the date, your worship will be in

Wain this morning. You coming today will be in Wain.

If Jesus did not rise, your hope and my hope

will be in Wain. Amen.
