You're listening to a message to go from acts Church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
The Bible says in First Currentie, Chapter eleven, Verse one,
-
imitate me as I also imitate Christ. So we are
-
in the form of discipleship year this year, and the
-
key thing for us to remember is that the Bible
-
reminds us today that we are supposed to imitate Christ.
-
Christ is an ultimate example. If you know Christ in
-
your life, you have no Christ of the Bible. Of friends,
-
it's hard to really the word is to forgive someone
-
who actually backstep you, who is your inner circle. Judas
-
was in Christ's circle of you know, discipleship. And could
-
you imagine right now the very person you pour your
-
heart out into and one of the twelve. And Judas
-
decided to sell Jesus out, and yet Jesus chose to
-
forgive him, which reminds us today, friends, no matter what
-
we go through in our life, there is always a
-
better way to live.
-
There is always a better way to respond.
-
There's always a better way for you and I this
-
afternoon to remember that, no matter what season we could
-
be in our lives, friends, that Christ has shown us
-
the way to live our lives so that we will
-
not be under the season, but we will be above
-
the season.
-
Imen.
-
So the Bible reminds us that we are supposed to imitate.
-
I like at the NIV version it says, follow my example,
-
follow my example as I follow Christ's example in your life, friends,
-
I pray that you have good example for other people
-
to follow. And many times in our lives sometimes we
-
don't realize how impactful our life can be. The very
-
fact that our attitude can be seen by other people,
-
can be copied by other people.
-
Show up in church.
-
Really matters because other people are looking for us for encouragement.
-
I like to use this example sometimes when we go
-
to work and some of us are not morning person,
-
it takes a while for the engine the word is
-
to start up. And sometimes you know, we go to work,
-
you have this amazing cliques that go and say.
-
Good morning, welcome to your office. It's a brand new day, right.
-
I know most people are not a good morning stuff
-
like that. I have a clique that really like she
-
thinks about like three hours to start up our engine.
-
You you great her with such excitement good morning, morning
-
or the right and it's about by time we hit
-
to us lunchtime, though the facial must begins to activate,
-
and if you're not careful, we tend to pick up
-
some of these things. The word is it's okay because
-
the majority of people are doing it. There are examples, right,
-
But the Bible here says, follow my examples, and I
-
follow the examples of Christ in the meets off Betrayed,
-
Christ say forgive.
-
Do you know how hard this is to forgive someone that?
-
The word is that.
-
I don't like the use abuse, but take advantage of
-
our trust. It is hard. Someone say that could you
-
loan me money? And you loan the person the money, and.
-
And you want it back? The buses it. I can't.
-
I heard of a story whereby someone asks for a
-
big sum of money if I figure, and the person, uh,
-
just say I'll give it to you with the knowledge
-
that might not get it back, And the person still
-
gave anyway, And the person was never seen in church
-
after that. But yet this individual who gave this indudio
-
gave decided to let it go.
-
You see, there are examples in our life that we
-
could follow.
-
Friends many times in our conver in our lives journey,
-
we follow so many other examples which look like Christ
-
but may not be Christ. So the question is that
-
why do we need to follow, friends, why do we
-
need to follow Christ's example? Because if you're not careful,
-
we are always the worst taken up by some other
-
people's example, isn't it. Think about it. There are people
-
that inspire us, right, we like those examples. Suburbs are
-
so inspired by the Five Year Book Club. So you
-
wake up at five year trying to replicate everything that
-
the book authors was trying to explain to you. Suburbs
-
for a bit more healthy. You're so inspired to have
-
salary juice in the morning. Salary juice in the morning.
-
Come on, no, no, no one here, no takers here,
-
no salary juice participator here. Oh yes, I do, I do,
-
I do?
-
I do?
-
I do not because anything, because I realized in my diet.
-
In my diet, right friends, I don't really there's not
-
much fiber intake. So I've decided that, you know, suddenly year,
-
I want to increase. So it's about maybe about like
-
ten stop or salary just blended and just drink it
-
first thing in the morning, you know, and it's actually
-
pretty tasty. It is true, right, I don't. I'm not
-
trying to convince you, but it's actually pretty tasty.
-
Praise hallelujah.
-
So I've done it for almost like a week now,
-
so I'm enjoying it, although the price of salary is
-
a bit expensive Malaysia. Right, however, and we can inspired
-
by all these examples.
-
It's healthy, it's good, good for the God and stuff
-
like that.
-
But the question is is about all this external but
-
how much more? How much is who are we following
-
for the internal?
-
Right? So why do we need to follow friends we can?
-
We need to follow so that we can become examples
-
to others. You and I need to follow Christ because
-
so that we can become example to others. It's very
-
important for us to realize these freends. No, given the choice,
-
you know, I was just sharing that the Mandarine service
-
given the choice right, that we like to pick and
-
choose our own songs, because there are many fantasy songs
-
out there, but we follow what was given to the church,
-
because many people around you to know that God has
-
given a church, every church, their own sound, the own song,
-
the own voice, right given the choice. Frends, of course,
-
we like to dress up other colors beside black and
-
orange because our wardrobe has more colors.
-
But we we we follow.
-
Some of these examples because God understands our hearts sometimes
-
needs alignment. Alignment and many times our journing our life.
-
We don't like to alive. You like to align our
-
own desires. Our on't liking own preference. Well, there's nothing
-
wrong with it. But there are some days in your life.
-
When you're alive yourself with the word of God, friends,
-
you see a brick true. When you ally yourself with
-
the world of God, you see a brick true. First Timothy,
-
chapter forwards Traild say, let let no one despise your youth,
-
or let no one despise you, friends, But be an example.
-
Here's Timothy rightly to us, Paul right to us, carry
-
you us being examples to other believers. Friends, in regardless
-
of whatever your education, background, financials standing, God remind us
-
that everyone of versus here has a potential to be
-
an example. So the next time you come to church
-
and you praise and you lift up your hands, you
-
begin to worship. Friends, be an example to the neighbors,
-
to the people around you, because your neighbors already the
-
people around you need to hear what it's like to
-
praise the Lord. Be an example to others when you
-
come for prayers service, because many times people say, I
-
can pray anywhere, but we come as a corporate body
-
to come together to pray because we truly believe it.
-
Atuallygether, God will be.
-
There on It's see, we do things only because we
-
believe in the conviction. So Timothy here in Timothy of
-
the False States, reminds us again being an example the
-
believers in the world, come on in conduct. How has
-
your conduct been, friends? How has it conduct been? I
-
like to use this example, and I know many people
-
don't like it, But why is it that you know
-
the challenges that to align ourselves with dressing is so
-
the words that God will always use the smallest things.
-
To be real. What's in our hearts.
-
Dressing, for example, of friends, is not so much that
-
the tithes and the and the suits and stuff like
-
sometimes in our journey friends, that this conduct of alignment
-
is so key when God begins to touch the area that.
-
Of our hearts.
-
Whether we don't like to align, it reveals look at
-
our response, Look at our response, Look at what things
-
we say, the things that comes up from our lips,
-
the thing that comes out that comes into our mind
-
and our hearts. We get the word it is that
-
we don't want to align because of our own preference.
-
I'm going to show later to scripture, but the Bible
-
here says that being an example in our conduct. A
-
couple of days ago, a couple of weeks ago, I
-
was one brother, and this brother is constantly late to church,
-
late to church, sometimes as late as fifteen minutes.
-
Before the service end.
-
He shows up late, right, And I was just sitting
-
here and say, brother, you know, I think you need
-
to work on this area because really, at the endvery day,
-
we have a choice.
-
Come on, do you know that being an example of
-
a conduct is a choice. At the end of the day,
-
we have a choice.
-
I say, you have a choice to make arrangement on
-
a Saturday night, you rest enough so they can be church.
-
We are on type to church on a Sunday morning.
-
But you don't understand I'm really trying. I say, I
-
believe you. I believe you're really trying. But I did
-
say that if if something that's really important, you will
-
make time. Many times we don't remember, we don't The
-
word is that we don't pay attention to what our
-
conduct is.
-
And something. God has used some of these things in.
-
Our life, timing, timing to open up what's really in
-
our hearts. So so, therefore, how do we follow friends?
-
First? Courrentage, Chapter ten, verse one, more our gradrooms.
-
I do not want you to be unaware that all
-
our fathers were under the cloud, passed through the sea,
-
baptizing the Moses, the cloud in the sea, and the
-
same spiriture food, drank the same spiritual drink. For they
-
drank the spiritual rock that followed them. That was that
-
was Christ first QUARRENTHI intent was one in the New
-
Living translations say that I don't want you to forget
-
their brothers and sisters. The messages remember our history and
-
be worn amplify classic wordes says, I don't want you
-
to be ignorant.
-
How do we follow them? Friends?
-
We need to remember first point. First, You and I
-
need to remember all that've got deposited in our hearts
-
in our life, because we can't forget, we can actually
-
forget what was this posited earlier in our life when
-
we went to our primary school friends, there were a
-
lot of good values. There was instill in our lives
-
the way we should be a good student. Now back
-
the years, right, now, go back to your primary school.
-
Remember your first day of school? Right, you were taught
-
that you're supposed to talk in your uniform.
-
I think so, right, still do still?
-
Still I'm not sure these days I can't right, were
-
suppose so talking our uniforms? And you know, and I
-
think Monday, do you do they still wear ties? I'm
-
not sure, right, but but there's a day assembly day
-
you're supposed to have tie, right, and stuff like that.
-
So recently I was in one of the one of
-
the biggest Chinese school in Klang Valley. Recently we were
-
looking at the possible venue to rent and and uh
-
and uh, well we will showing the venue and stuff like.
-
I asked the teacher the day. I just say, hey,
-
I know I'm outsider, but could I buy your school
-
can then food because it smells so good and stuff like?
-
I say, yeah, sure you could work. So we went there.
-
We bought our food.
-
And Man's school cantin food is cheap, is cheap compared
-
compared to what we pay outside, right, but it's cheap.
-
So we're having me uh Pat Alvin and you know,
-
and edeln were having lunch there and after we finished.
-
Right and we're talking.
-
We know that you're supposed to clear your table right started,
-
but we do know every school a different process.
-
So I say it was ABCD.
-
So so I thought that, Okay, the place is here,
-
the CPS is here, the cutliories is here. But then
-
and then said, no, elder, there's a way, right Amy,
-
store aim at all the store A places go back
-
to A. I went like, okay, so friends, there is
-
a way. Friends that we were trained to clear out tables.
-
But after a while, when we growb the doubts, I
-
heard a doubt. Sometimes a thing they don't wash your
-
place until the next day. Yeah, there are sometimes people
-
actually do power up the thing full need then the wash.
-
We can actually forget into this different season of our life.
-
What was instilled when you came to Christ. The first
-
time we came to Christ. You will tell how to worship,
-
how to give unto how to.
-
Serve the Lord.
-
But isn't it interesting through the journeys of your life
-
we can actually forget some of the things that was
-
instilled earlier on of your days. And God this morning
-
wants to remind this Afterwards to remind us of to
-
remember you told me chapter eight, verse one, every commandment
-
which I command you today, you must be careful to
-
observe that you may live and multiply and go in
-
and possess the land which the Lord saw to you.
-
Friends, God has given us.
-
His word, and God have instructed us to observe his
-
word to live out his word. This is the word
-
of the Lord. Friends, that he is.
-
Reminding us today that he has given us his word.
-
The purpose of his word is for us to experience it,
-
to live out and to experience increase, live and multiply.
-
And because when you live and multiply, friends, that's where
-
you begin to have courage to go in and possess
-
the land. And this is the thing that the Lord
-
wants to do that. And you shall remember the Lord,
-
your God that led you all these forty years. The
-
Bible is asking us that you shall remember is God
-
that led you all these forty years of your life
-
and many times in our journey. Friends, we have to
-
be careful because we can actually forget we got to
-
this place.
-
Our success.
-
It's not because our own intellect, smartness, strength, ability, but
-
it's because God has opened an opportunity for you and
-
me to experience what it is to know what is
-
it to live in the Lord and to experience his increase.
-
We can actually.
-
Forget that, you know, the investment that God has given
-
into our life friends, and you know why sometimes in
-
our life friends, that we can actually forget because of one.
-
Mistake me or may not know that you know that
-
you have.
-
Have you been in a place whereby a person that
-
invests so much in your life and because the person
-
have to address something in your life, then you go
-
like this person is not good, bad leader you get
-
Then you can all these years putting his arms around you,
-
encouraging you, and maybe one time you just say, hey,
-
there's not good conduct.
-
That is not good conduct. You go like, I don't
-
agree with you. I don't agree with you.
-
And because of the one statement, all the goodness is
-
wipe out already. And this is what happened when before
-
thow the Lord. Sometimes you can get to this place
-
because let's say, all these years God be so fitful
-
to you, and maybe you're going to a rough pet
-
right now, and we can come to a place whereby
-
God is not good and God is not real. God's
-
not hearing my prayers. So the Bible is reminding us
-
again that even the forty years in the wilderness, God's
-
presence was there. He led the children of visual through
-
the pillar of cloud and the pillar of fire. All
-
these forty years, God was there, even though something you
-
don't feel him or don't see him. He was there
-
in our tears, in our fears. We need to remember
-
how good God is in our life. All these years, Saville,
-
who are married, and God provided for you. Friends, if
-
we could provide for you for your wedding day, he
-
will provide for you for your future as well.
-
Right some of.
-
Us who are working right now, when we just came
-
out the world, we didn't know where we were going.
-
But God leted the right place and to where you
-
are right now. But many times now Genu, we can
-
actually forget because after a while, friends, the turn of
-
Israel for God, that God was the one that led
-
them out from Egypt. You see, the situation did not happen, friends,
-
the moment they left Egypt, even the time of Egypt,
-
the Templics, they know it's a lot. The moment they
-
exit Egypt. They still remember it's a lot. The moment
-
they went through the rat seat. They know it's a lot,
-
but the moment when they ran to the desert. Friends,
-
that's where our season, the different seasons of our life
-
begin to reveal what's really in our hearts. Because it's
-
in the wilderness, friends, that sometimes our commitment, our conviction,
-
gets challenged and gets revealed even more. That's why this
-
coming you turn, friends. It's not just a time where
-
fasting and praying, friends, but the time where we set aside,
-
say Lord, I just want to learn how to seek
-
you for just twenty one days. It's not for we
-
used to do it for forty days, and we decided
-
doing it for twenty one days.
-
And it's only twenty one days, just seeking.
-
The Lord, putting things aside what we like to do
-
in our am time. She say, Lord, I just want
-
to know how to see you in this trainy one days.
-
But even then, some of us finding challenging because we
-
are so used to the lifestyle, so used to the
-
way of thinking, so used to the way of life,
-
and we find it how to let go. Point number
-
two is this is released, friends. Surrender control every part
-
of our life. One part is to remember the other
-
part is surrender because we can remember, but not necessarily surrender. Friends,
-
all of us here need to know that the Lord
-
knows better.
-
Think about it.
-
The Lord knows better. He knows the real intention of
-
our hearts. Even after things get revealed. After things get revealed,
-
what are we doing with it?
-
You know?
-
I know a lot of people do the annual health check.
-
Praise the lot you do your annual health check. Right,
-
the questions never been about health check. Friends, I realized
-
it's never been about health check. It's what are we
-
going to do with the results of our health check?
-
Because sometimes we can wear that like a badge. I
-
do my annual health check, you know, I do it
-
every year. I go to the all the skin. You know, Okay,
-
your lifestyle is still the same. I want to tell
-
you a story. This is my wife's story that she
-
recently she caught up with somebody and you know, this
-
person's gonna get married. And you know, every every lady
-
is gonna get married, everyone's gonna get married. They tend
-
to like, I'm wanna slim down. I want to look good,
-
which is good? Which is good?
-
Right?
-
I tried the dress. Really, you know, the dress is
-
a particular size. So therefore I come that point in time,
-
after I kept pulling away, I can decrease the weight
-
a bit, but I kept put the extra weight. So
-
this person was with my wife and one more other leader,
-
just encouraging her, praying with her over dinner right half
-
to the dinner, right, you know how my wife really
-
like you know, I think in the days she thinks
-
only about like.
-
Ten tablespoon of rice. She rarely to rise on friends. Anyway.
-
That's when trying to say, so, this lady is sitting
-
across my wife looking at my wife's half eaten rice.
-
Oh the chilly Could I have your rice?
-
Right? And she took her my wife's rice and said,
-
wanted you know, I'm trying to cut cops, trying to
-
cut cops, trying to cut rice, trying to cut starch
-
and stuff that. And she was eating and she was
-
looking at the other leader's rice. It's not eating yet.
-
And she asked the other do you want your rice
-
to not They said no, I'm also cutting so do you.
-
Want Yeah, so this person is about to get married.
-
Took the other boshes rice right and look at both
-
my wife and the other leader, and they say, I'm
-
trying to cut rice in my life because I got
-
to feed the dress.
-
But she's working all the rice and many times.
-
Now. Journey, friend, is not so much the revelation. Yes,
-
God giving you amazing revelation. But the question is is
-
that are we going to take the revelation and see
-
a lifestyle change in our life. Let me just show
-
you to scripture right now, see first Curdentita, chapter ten,
-
verse one to fall. The Bible says, every one of
-
them went through the same experience. They went through the sea,
-
they were, they drive from the same spiriture rack the Israel.
-
We're following God through the journey of you. True that
-
every season of.
-
Your life, friends, they were following God, following God. But
-
the Bible says the worst five, but most of them
-
God was not well pleased. Thinking about it, for you
-
are following only to find out at the end that
-
God was not pleased. I wanted this to sing that
-
in for a moment because many I think it's just
-
done and reflected upon me that sometimes in our life
-
we are we think we are on the right journey.
-
We only discovery that we are the wrong path and
-
something got oops. I'm not sure we've been ever been
-
to a long wrong lecture before all, Oh I've read
-
to the wrong class. Right, Oh, you bought the wrong clothes.
-
It happens to me and my wife, my wife when
-
I share clothes, and sometimes.
-
Yes we do, we do, we do.
-
She would look at because she wear oversized shirts and
-
stuff like that.
-
You I can fit into your clothes, I say, please.
-
So there's a period of time whereby our house was
-
under renovation, we didn't any place to wash. Sometimes you
-
pass it through. My mom in a love to wash
-
our clothes, and she was trying to sort things out.
-
She's she will ask my wife like.
-
Who's T shirt? Is this this is yours?
-
Or is this your husband's see shirt? Then my wife said, no,
-
we are sharing. It's hard after a wild friends to distinguish.
-
And many times in our lives, right, we are the
-
same as well. And most times she gets it wrong
-
because suffer my wifelothes she passed to me because about
-
our colors is only black and white. My colors are
-
mostly black, look slimmer. And my mom in lawa pecked
-
her close into my bag and this stuff that and said,
-
mom does not mind this. My wife's say, okay, I
-
remember next time. Then after the next show, she passed
-
back to me. Mom passed to her. Mom, does not
-
mind this my husband's clothes. After I say, I fed out,
-
I don't wash it anymore. But we can come to
-
a place whereby whereby whereby all these forty years, the
-
children of Israel, like the children of Israel, think they're
-
on the right path, but wrong. Let me show you
-
from Exodus chapter thirty two, verse one. Now, when the
-
people saw Moses was delayed coming down from the mountain,
-
the people gathered together to Aaron and said to him, come,
-
let's me, gods that go before us for us. For
-
this Moses, the man who brought us out from the
-
land of We do not know what has become of him.
-
We can't wait anymore. Eron this Moses, I really don't
-
know what happened to him.
-
But we need a god right now. We need a
-
god right now.
-
So therefore, what I want us to fashion a god
-
right now out from the jury, we give to you
-
because we cannot wait for Moses anymore. And sometimes in
-
our life are we are like the tune of visual
-
I cannot wait.
-
We can't take no for an answer. I want to
-
do it my way. I want it now.
-
And worse six is that rose next day offering okay,
-
burnt offering and peace offering.
-
The people set down to eat, drink and rose up
-
to play.
-
I want you to think for a moment, if the
-
tune of issue knew there were this obedient to God.
-
We need to say that if you knew, at the
-
end of the day, they couldn't enter the promise that
-
you think they will. Who asked for the golden caff
-
and we can become that the children of is you?
-
And this statement I heard it many times. God understands,
-
God knows we are like the children of Visual Because
-
God understands. God knows God say, yes, I understand, and
-
I know what you're going to, But do you know
-
what I'm trying to bring out from you?
-
Do you know what I'm trying to bring out from
-
you when.
-
You're going to this not because this is the very
-
thing that's causing you not to go into the land.
-
This is a very thing that's.
-
Stopping you from experiencing My multiplication. This is a very
-
thing that's limiting you from going to another level, a
-
deeper relationship with God.
-
So the churnre of Visual friends. After the offering, they
-
rose up to play.
-
We can offer things in our lives, friends, but the
-
end of the day, there is no change in our life,
-
no transforming, no change just by following externally, friends, that
-
cannot be real transformation. We can follow a schedule, but
-
schedule doesn't transform us. We can had fifty versions of
-
the Bible in our house. It doesn't transform us. It
-
doesn't we know all the song. That doesn't transform you.
-
We have to be fully convinced, friends. That's why Romans
-
chapter twelve Worse Too reminds us to not be conformed
-
to this world. And the world is trying to make
-
us to confirm that this is the way, this is
-
how you should look like, this how you should behave
-
externally friends, But the world of God reminds us to
-
be transformed. It starts with the transformation insight by the
-
renewing of your mind. Late last year, we we will
-
encourage every partner to buy a Bible. Not just to
-
buy a Bible, friends, was to buy a Bible and
-
open and read it. I want to encourage you friends.
-
If we think that just by coming to church you'll
-
be transformed and renewed, that's only half the process. We
-
need to spend time with ask God, God, is there
-
something in my life that you want me to change?
-
Open up his word to just read his word, because
-
our mind needs to be renewed and many challenges come
-
from our mind. Friends, just because a leader now shake
-
hares with you, you go like, don't like me? Right
-
it happens. So one brother was just share he after
-
like ten years, came up to me and just say this,
-
I just want to apologize to you.
-
After ten years, I say, why what did I do? Right?
-
Because I think my first time to church I say
-
hi to you, you this high back. I said, I
-
really don't remember. I'm so sorry if I ever done that.
-
But yeah, I just want you do. I just want
-
to get it off my chest because right.
-
Now he's a leader.
-
Really, but I just want to let you know my
-
first time to church, I say hi to you and
-
you just walk past me. I got like, okay, if
-
I did, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean it, but
-
you know, I hope you accept my apology. Say set way.
-
But the point in time, I was so angry and
-
she could have allowed friends his emotions to hijack him
-
to a place whereby you don't even want to be
-
in the first place. And that's why it's so important
-
for us to be transformed by the renewing of our mind,
-
because if you're not careful here is that friends, you
-
experience betrayal, right, and every time we see this individual,
-
when you're betrayed, you go like bad person, bad person,
-
and you begin to have different thoughts. A cyclist come
-
and cut into your lane. You're driving your car. You
-
felt like getting even sometimes stick to your lane. You're
-
not even paying read tax, right, it happens a motorcycle
-
is just haunt you for no apparent reason. At the
-
point in time, it irritates you. You feel like, you
-
know your horn is louder, right, you just have just
-
putting your hand on the stair and just just push
-
it a bit to the right.
-
Hand side because you get irritated because.
-
The constant ringing of his horn on different horns, you
-
know what I mean, that traffic jam, right, You just
-
want to signal, right, and you're just looking for opportunity
-
to just go to the right hand side. And this motorcycle,
-
this motorbike coming from like hanger mometers haunting you or
-
something just shot up off of nowhere.
-
It irritates you and the feeling after a while you
-
just want to get even.
-
Get That's why the Bible is reminding us again to
-
not conform to the patterns of the world, because our emotions, Friends,
-
I'm gonna say, our emotions will take us to a
-
place where by how did I get here in the
-
first place? How did I get here in the first place?
-
And that's why God is reminding us that Christ examples
-
that you and I could follow. There are Christ examples
-
that you and I could follow, not to get even,
-
but get better.
-
Friends, So be renewed in your mind.
-
Friends, Be renewed in your mind, so you get able
-
to prove so the different seasons of your life. Friends,
-
you know that God is in the picture, even though
-
some of us even today right now, we may not
-
be at a good place in terms of like you know,
-
there's so many challenges right, but you know that God
-
is fitful. I was talking to one brother that day,
-
and it's just showing me that, you know, while it's
-
been really the word he used was hell for the
-
past one week. My mom in law just felled out
-
and she's in the critical world. He says that my
-
sister in law has emputy her because of diabetic and
-
just stuff like that. And my wife right now is
-
and it's having no have to balance off so many things.
-
But yet he was still at homes recognizing that God
-
is in control and we could pray. See if you're
-
not renew you go like, this must be some bad
-
luck somewhere, and retried the words let's do the bad
-
life by moving our furnatures around. First, I think only
-
because it's sometimes in our life people are looking for
-
answers and this is the only answer they could find.
-
Two stories is that recently I heard that someone was
-
demon possessed or has the evil spirit in their life,
-
not just one, but at least a couple of spirit.
-
I follow how much the exorcism costs? No, not Christian exocism. Okay,
-
it's about like thirty thousand per spirit. I could see
-
I could make money for mexicism. Who can we have
-
a class of healing and deliverance?
-
Please? I want to make money?
-
Right?
-
And and this individual of this parents and stuff like that.
-
Right word the word this is that they were.
-
Looking for answers. They were so desperate they were knocking
-
on every door they could find. And this is how
-
how it is friends, when when there is no answer,
-
we just conformed to the world ways of doing stuff.
-
Just look for answers. I can't.
-
It's a pay money for the eu spirit to come
-
out and go like, wow, how much money can we
-
meet that the choice? The pastors could make it ready
-
by paying for people.
-
Wo. Sweet. But it's not about that, friends.
-
That's why the Bible says be transformed by the renewing
-
of your mind. You have a choice right now, friends,
-
You have a choice right now. Finally, my third point
-
is that repeat. What do I mean by repeat?
-
The Bible says forty years in the wilderness, forty years.
-
In the desert. Think about it, not just one day,
-
not sixty five days chung hunger and sixty five days
-
times forty. No, it's hard to go to the wilderness.
-
It is hard.
-
Maybe some of us have not been to desert. I
-
have not been to the desert before, but I could
-
just think about how a desert will look like. The
-
scenaries is all the same, right, you see what desert?
-
I guess you see all the desert?
-
Is that correct? Those have been there? This correct?
-
Me? You see what desert? You see all the desert,
-
isn't it? I presume so that the temperatures about the same,
-
the dryness is about the same. It really, you know,
-
it reminds you of you know what about going to work.
-
Think about it.
-
If you're a part of a company, right for how
-
many years? You know you know the traffic already, right,
-
you get in there. It's the same lift, right, you
-
might lift number you think, it's the same lift that
-
goes up your.
-
Off face and stuff like that.
-
The death is death and not changed for X number
-
of years. It's life on the repeat, life on the repeat.
-
And many times when you live life on the repeat
-
on the daily, life that's on the repeat. Friends, you're
-
finding mundane and boring, just like the children of Virgil.
-
They got manner, they got quail that that God has
-
delivered from heaven. And your large places are more that's
-
the same. The options are more less the same, friends,
-
And you cannot run because in the desert, you try
-
to run anywhere else in the desert, right, it's still
-
that make the same place. So she tried to reside
-
from one organization go to the next. It's but the
-
same thing again. So call this like you know, forty
-
years is forty years of working My future if you're
-
praying God, can you drop the letter A S from
-
desert and become these.
-
It make youse sweet. The Lord help me.
-
Friends like excitement right when you go to the thing,
-
So do you words to say that you shall remember
-
the Lord, your God lets you to all these four
-
the years in the wilderness.
-
Come on. The word is to humber you.
-
To humber, your God will use the repeats in our life,
-
the different seasons of our life. That repeats in life.
-
He used the word humber. And maybe because now because
-
of our life, friends, we have developed a place whereby
-
we're quite powerful. You cannot receive. If somebody say, elder,
-
you don't understand this word, and use the word the
-
lile God, you understand something because we say that we
-
cannot receive. God has used the word hummer. Because God
-
will use the wilderness, the desert of our life.
-
Friends.
-
The word this is that to crack the outer shell
-
of our hearts.
-
Sometimes it is the word it's so stubborn.
-
And God will irritate you with the closest people to
-
you to remind you of what's really important. I like
-
to say this that God will always use your wife,
-
your husband to remind you sometimes of your commitment to
-
the Lord.
-
Hey, not reading the Bible? Are you today? Is that right?
-
Sometimes my wife reminds me you preach about studying God's world,
-
by then you live the Bible.
-
Everywhere.
-
I got like ten bibleses, all different different rooms and
-
stuff like that, different versions. I just say, you know,
-
I want to make my place a centuary. So everywhere
-
I go through this as the world of God. Right,
-
nice excuses just for pure laziness. Don't want to put
-
back the book in the same place we make excuses friends.
-
And it's because God uses the wilderness the words to
-
crack the outer shell. That's where sis can be planted,
-
sets can be planted. Friends. So the Bible reminds us
-
a game to humble you, then to test you to
-
humble your next friends. In the different season of our life,
-
we get tested, and none of us feel like to
-
go to the test.
-
None of us see it like to go to a
-
test because we think that we are all right.
-
The test comets because something needs to happen to show
-
what's really in our hearts. Our attitude gets reviewed, friends,
-
our attitude gets reviewed, Our attitude gets revealed like it
-
or not, friends, it really shows what's really in our hearts.
-
At the end of the day, how have you our
-
attitude been? What has Got been revealing to you? If
-
you don't like to be told to correct yourself, maybe
-
there's an edituvee that we need to check. Right to
-
like to change, then maybe there's an editing we need
-
to check. Why has God been revealing to you to
-
the test? I want my answer now, but God say wait,
-
you can't wait. What is God saying to the process?
-
He says, to test you to know what's in your heart,
-
whether or not you keep His commandments.
-
And they have their friends.
-
Sometimes we give out our We saw our conviction for convenience.
-
We give up our conviction for convenience at the end
-
of the day, and God reminds us to be an
-
example for our next generation, be an example in extraus friends.
-
We really try to model this out by telling people
-
that to coll do it to be an example, not
-
just to us, but the other churches around because.
-
They're looking for an answer. They're looking for a solution.
-
Wortree said, so humble you allow you to go to
-
hunger and fect you with men which you do not know,
-
nor do your fathers know that he may make known
-
to you that men shall not live by bread alone.
-
Men shall not live by bread alone. Friends, as I close, friends.
-
What have you been living on? What have we been
-
living on?
-
Because many times, if you're honest with ourselves, we live
-
ourselves that everything's all right. But when God wants to
-
speak challenge and changes, we say no, We say that
-
I was talking to pastor them. We're just talking about
-
the future of ex church. How I'm in my fifty
-
turning fifty this year, passes fifty five this year, talking
-
about in the next twenty years, right, because you don't
-
come to a place whereby.
-
You can't even know what access.
-
So we were just talking about the future, and I
-
realized how important it is for us related to know
-
what's important to instill because no one has got to
-
the funeral, right.
-
If you've been the funerals, you've been.
-
The week series before, right, and look at the coffin
-
of the casket and the individual and go like, but
-
you you die day you did with me Show one
-
Millionaire Because when we were growing up, that was was
-
our aim. That was something we aspired to have to
-
achieve a sudden financial status. I understand, but nobody friends,
-
nobody goes to the casket and go like putting, you're
-
like three dollars shot from one million.
-
I have not.
-
I'm not saying maybe God, I'm not sure, but no,
-
as far as I know that, I've not seen it.
-
Because normally remembering the good deeds, apperces I have done right,
-
the good values, the persive instilled, and God this morning,
-
this afternoon, friends, remind us that when we allow where
-
we will we want to follow God through the different
-
season of our life. Think about that forty years in
-
wilderness so that God could reveal right, this repeat this
-
on repeater, meaning to say that will we still follow
-
God through the different season the upside down? When God
-
reviews to come on to hammer you, to test you
-
or I partial test number one?
-
I thy I.
-
Graduated, but God said no, you're not graduated.
-
That's test number two. And you go like huh after
-
test them this test number three.
-
Our life, friends, is a continuous journey, friends, continuous journey
-
of learning and working with the Lord. First fourteen years
-
in the desert really is the test.
-
Of the heart.
-
Will we come out after the forty years in the
-
so you have the same rigor and excitement. So I
-
was at the Whig service recently of our well a
-
brother they used to be part of our church, and
-
he has multiple health issues, but towards the leader part
-
of his life, friends, besides you know, having massive things
-
done on his heart, he had kidney failure.
-
But towards the end their friends.
-
I heard at testament Byby like three months before his homegoing,
-
he was in church serving and praising God. However, another brother, Baeby,
-
he had polio and stuff like that, but towards the
-
end part of his life he was serving as a host, shaking.
-
Hands, greeting people in church.
-
So life on the repeat, friends, when God bring you
-
to one season to another season, wo you still want
-
to follow the Lord? After all the words? Is that
-
The Bible says that to humble you, come on. We
-
don't like the word humber because some of the humber
-
miss We think humility is humiliation. Sometimes you don't like
-
the word humber. We like the word empowered, Strengthen.
-
Go on to it and reach you. We love all
-
those words.
-
Come for a humbling conference, kidding that I know there's
-
no humbling conference, but come for a humbling conference that
-
you know what's really your house?
-
Okay, God can work. First, this word cannot self conference one.
-
You understand, you know, right, But when we want to
-
follow God and God reveals something hard that you all
-
come in, you go like, ah, that's it. Next ten years,
-
no more test, but get ready for the next one.
-
My final scripture is second Timothy Forward Sellers. I fought
-
the good fight. I have finished the race.
-
First.
-
Many people to finish the race, but not keeping the faith.
-
But here Paul reminds us again, keep the faith, keep
-
the faith. This time I'm going to end the turn
-
of Israel. Went to forty years in the wilderness. You
-
know again, Let's say, ga wilderness is not the most
-
exciting place you want to be for forty years, four
-
days maybe forty years, right, But to go to forty
-
years in the wilderness are friends only to discover they
-
couldn't enter the promised land.
-
Could you imagine paying the price.
-
A lot of hardship, the heat, the dryness, right to
-
find out friends that we missed them up. There's one
-
of the painful revolutions I got from readingou scripture.
-
You it's not you didn't know, you actually went through it.
-
No, friends, you've been coming to church for the past
-
twenty old years right, only discover that I have not grown,
-
I've not learned much about God.
-
You're being churched for some time, and only to discover
-
is that I'm just having an external experience. And but
-
the time you have the revolution.
-
If I could just down back my years, turn back
-
the clock, I could respond better. Friends, don't be like
-
the children visual after forty years the land they're supposed
-
to go in, they couldn't. The land is supposed to
-
possess friends couldn't. The Bible says the land was filling
-
with milk and honey. What an amazing bruture that will
-
be land flow with milk and honey. Friends, Because if
-
you're not really friends, we're not ready to prepare the
-
giant prepare for the giants is in the land.
-
It takes the.
-
Desert preparation to score of the desert to prepare us
-
for the giants in the land. Understand, because if we
-
allow the tune of easier to go into the problems life, friends,
-
they will be. They will be wept out by the giants.
-
But because of the disobedience and stuff like that. And
-
as I close friends, Timothy forward several reminds us that
-
friends is not just about the good fight and finishing
-
the race. It's about keeping the faith, is about falling
-
Christ and his example. Because the day will come, friends,
-
and the day will come whereby it's between you and
-
the Lord. The day will come in your journey of life. Friends,
-
the challenges of your life is between you and the Lord.
-
No one's going to decide for you. Paid Daniel come
-
won't be there to decide for you, to encourage you.
-
The day will come whereby it's between the Lord and
-
your convictions.
-
What would he be? Friends? As I close friends.
-
My encouragement is this that we need to remember all
-
the good that God has done in your life.
-
The different seasons of your life.
-
Friends, you need to remember that you pray God came
-
to for you as a campus student, and God will
-
come true to you as a working adult. You pray
-
as a working at out. Gold will come to you
-
when you're married. In the different seasons of your life.
-
God has never forsake your friends. You see, I'm not
-
sure why the train of visual decided to ask for
-
golden calf. Whereby they knew there was God's presence leading
-
them all these journey time in the desert, and yet
-
they ask for a golden calf. We need to learn
-
how to surrender when God revealed things in our hearts. Friends,
-
look at it. If we don't surrender, friends, it's hard
-
to work on things. To be able to clean your house,
-
you need to make time for your house. But to
-
make time for your house, man, you need put a
-
full stop surrender your other activities.
-
Say my house is a priority, I get to clean it.
-
I'm not sure where you are with the station and
-
season of your life, friends, but my encouragement is this
-
is that God have your way, because I do not
-
want by the rand, by the time I wished forty
-
years at the end of the journey of the wilderness,
-
that I miss out on the promised land. I need
-
to follow Christ's example so that I could enter the
-
promised land. I could know what it means to live
-
out His word as I close right now, friends, and
-
to pray for all of us here today it's writing extreme.
-
I'm on stage.
-
I thought the good Fire kept the faith, so I
-
finished the.
-
Race and kept the faith. There's a fight, there's a race,
-
and there's a faith.
