  1. You're listening to a message to go from asks church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day.

  3. So the title that I have for us here today

  4. is this, why do we come to church? Why do

  5. we come to church? I know we're in U turn

  6. and this message does link to our U turn? All right,

  7. why are we doing U turn as well? So let's

  8. try and answer this question why do we come to church?

  9. So maybe to start things off, maybe just ask yourselves

  10. why do you come to church?

  11. Right?

  12. You can also ask your neighbor why do you come

  13. to church? And yeah, you want to answer your neighbor,

  14. you can, right. Don't think there's any right or wrong answers.

  15. So different people have different reasons maybe they're thinking of

  16. but I'm answering this question based on this chapter Jeremiah seven.

  17. Jeremiah went to church in this chapter. So let's read.

  18. All right.

  19. By the way, I think you'll know already the theme

  20. for the church is disciple first, and I'm sure you've

  21. already been hearing that, you've been experiencing some of that,

  22. and disciple discipleship is what we're trying to work on.

  23. This year.

  24. And I think it's so powerful because just a thought

  25. of it, just a mention of it makes us want

  26. to do something. Either you want to get in line

  27. and go get into the program or or run away,

  28. all right, because what does that mean? Am I supposed

  29. to not follow something? And someone is going to tell

  30. me something, you know, to do? Am I gonna face

  31. correction from someone? Someone's gonna tell me something that I'm

  32. not doing?

  33. Right? So you know, just the sound of that.

  34. Disciple discipleship sometimes makes us think of different things, and

  35. sometimes it's negative, but actually it's a positive thing. I

  36. always say this in Victory Academy, you know, when I

  37. do the orientation with the new families that come and

  38. then come to the pat where it says discipline discipline, right,

  39. because disciple discipline is a close word, And so I say,

  40. you know, discipline. Every time people think of the word discipline,

  41. they think negative because they experience the negative thing in school.

  42. You say discipline, you think of rotten, You think of

  43. standing in the sun somewhere, you know, burn or whatever

  44. it is. It's pain, all right, Yeah, there's a good

  45. discipline always holding this big stick, right, I don't know.

  46. Yeah, And so.

  47. Let me say thing, discipline always think negative, But actually

  48. the word discipline should be a positive thing. Discipline, then

  49. I always say, you know, we start with the positive reinforcement.

  50. You're doing this right, that's discipline. If we're doing something right,

  51. we can always encourage someone. That's the right thing. And

  52. so it doesn't have to end up with a raw tone. Okay,

  53. So let's think of that word in a healthy, good way.

  54. All right.

  55. I know a lot of people have made it sound negative,

  56. and yeah, don't worry about that because humans make it negative.

  57. But actually discipline is from God. God disciplines, so his

  58. discipline is good.

  59. Amen. Amen. All right.

  60. So, and I want to encourage all of us here

  61. that we can respond. We can say amen and say yes,

  62. because when you say that, you're saying I receive it,

  63. all right.

  64. Okay.

  65. If you need time to think and process first, nevermind, okay,

  66. but if you're ready, just say yeah, I receive it,

  67. yes amen.

  68. Okay. So all right, let's read verse one to two.

  69. I'm just gonna read one and two right now, and

  70. I just put it on the screen as well. Okay,

  71. the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord. Stand

  72. in the gate of the Lord's house and proclaim that

  73. this word and say here the word of the Lord,

  74. all you men of Judah who enter these gates to

  75. worship the Lord.

  76. Okay, let's just look at this for a while. Was it?

  77. What's happening here?

  78. God came to Jeremiah told him that you need to

  79. say this, But how are you gonna do it? You're

  80. gonna stand in the gate of the Lord's house. So

  81. where is he going? He's going to church. He's going

  82. to church. He's gonna And God told him to stand

  83. there all right and do this, uh and proclaim there

  84. this word. Okay, and then what is he gonna proclaim?

  85. He's gonna he's telling people? What does he say here?

  86. The word of the Lord? Okay, all you, all you

  87. men of Judah. Now I want to say so the

  88. question is on again. Why do we come to church?

  89. Right? Why do we come to church?

  90. The first thing here, the first point I want to

  91. present to you, is we come to church to proclaim,

  92. to proclaim the word of God, to preach the word

  93. of God. Firstly, of course, there's only one preacher here

  94. now right now here, but all of us here are

  95. here to proclaim the word of God. When you sang

  96. those songs to start off with, or rather maybe those

  97. who came for prayer the first part of the even

  98. before worship. When when you pray, you're proclaiming God's word.

  99. You know, when we pray, most times we pray according

  100. to God's word. If we pray against God's word, then

  101. it sounds funny. We used to feel funny. All right, Lord,

  102. help me not to forgive this guy, you really feel Okay,

  103. this sounds weird because there's one time I was in

  104. Quantan and then this uncle he was very angry. I

  105. think nine to eleven just happened, and then he prayed

  106. and he prayed, Oh I pray, you damn this. People

  107. who did all these things sandam straight to hell. I'm like,

  108. who I say, Like, I don't know whether that's a

  109. way to pray, because I did say amen to that.

  110. So like, Lords say, if those guys are you know,

  111. I know they they messed up, they did all these things,

  112. but maybe you know through this you might change their

  113. heart or whatever.

  114. Actually they crashed upin they died.

  115. So but those who orchestraight those things, I don't pray

  116. you know, out of anger.

  117. You don't pray good condemned people and stuff like that.

  118. Right, So yeah, So I mean the lot leads you

  119. to pray away then okay, up to you.

  120. But I said, oh, uncomfortable.

  121. So you know, when we pray, we're proclaiming God's word

  122. when we sing those songs. You know, when you see songs,

  123. I never like funny lyrics, And wait, how come the

  124. lyric like out out the lingam the college? All right,

  125. it doesn't sound like what the word of God will say.

  126. So we want to sing even songs that proclaim God's word.

  127. Yeah, and then we hear the testimony.

  128. Sometimes someone comes and share a live testimony, and I

  129. know people look to end with like a Bible verse

  130. one when they share testimony because they know I'm not

  131. speaking my own stuff. I want to speak God's word.

  132. So why we come to church. We come to preach.

  133. We come to proclaim God's word. And you know what,

  134. most times we're doing it to ourselves. You know, we

  135. actually need to preach to ourselves, right, We need to

  136. speak to ourselves because a lot of time ourselves are

  137. the ones stopping ourselves from going forward. You know, ourselves

  138. are the ones who say I just simply dress up,

  139. lah go to God's house.

  140. Can be chill.

  141. Just you know, you've got to come in with shorts

  142. or whatever. I mean nothing wrong. You come with your shots,

  143. no condemnation. I'm just saying it's we ourselves. I'm talking

  144. as a leader. Sometimes I feel like I don't want.

  145. To dress up la so ma fa la. You know

  146. it's so hot man, this Malaysia. Man. You know I

  147. should be coming in like single it or something.

  148. You know. Yeah, I stop myself from giving back my

  149. best to God. You know, I myself am the one

  150. losing my temper and you know, releasing it on my

  151. family or my children. So I myself, I need to

  152. speak to myself. And I think I believe David did

  153. that to himself. He strengthened himself in the Lord, all right.

  154. So when we do that, when we sing those songs,

  155. we're telling our spirit man.

  156. We're telling our spirit man. God is bigger, God is greater,

  157. all right.

  158. I don't want to suck in my own depression anymore

  159. because my flesh man is trying to bully me. I

  160. told this to Exciberjai as well. You know, the flesh

  161. man sometimes is so much bigger than the faith man

  162. in ourselves. The flesh guy bullies the faith guy in yourselves.

  163. You know, he said, keep quiet, don't think sol out la,

  164. don't praise God. Lie, he's not real. I'm more real.

  165. You can feel me. I'm the flesh, you know, right.

  166. I'm the one who can enjoy stuff. I can feel

  167. good when I do this or do that, or eat

  168. this or eat that. But you no things use you

  169. cannot see you, and you know you see the unseen.

  170. H So prove to me, right, the flesh bullies the faith.

  171. But it's time to stand up, guys. It's time to

  172. make a stand for the Man of faith in all

  173. of ourselves and say, I'm no longer going to be

  174. bullied by you flesh. You keep quiet, I'm gonna serve

  175. the Lord. I'm going to come to church even if

  176. I don't feel it. I'm gonna stand up. Right, you

  177. sit down, you keep quiet? Enough enough of bullying, all right.

  178. We're actually in a struggle within ourselves. Yeah, and sometimes

  179. we struggle with sura with take it out on someone else.

  180. But just a reminder, right, we ourselves have struggles, and

  181. so we need to make a stand for the Man

  182. of faith in our hearts.

  183. Amen, all right.

  184. So the point here is we come to hear the

  185. word and be bold to preach the word. You know,

  186. so Jeremiah said, you know, God told Jeremiah what you

  187. need to say. You need to tell them to hear

  188. the word. So one is to speak the word. One

  189. is to proclaim. All right, but if you proclaim, proclaim,

  190. but nobody is hearing, it's pointless or so. So we

  191. need to tell ourselves, I need to hear the word

  192. of God. I need to hear I need to receive

  193. the word of God.

  194. Amen. Very simple.

  195. Right, we come to church for what to speak the

  196. word of God? Because if you don't speak it, who's

  197. going to do it? If we the people of God

  198. don't speak it. The people who have known God, you

  199. think they're going to speak it, they are not going

  200. to speak it. Right, So we the people of God,

  201. need to speak it. We start here. We speak at

  202. least ourselves first. We speak to each other here first.

  203. Then when you go out it will be a natural

  204. thing to speak to others. If we don't speak it here,

  205. we are not gonna speak it to others. We say, yeah, yeah,

  206. we've got to reach out to those people, but we

  207. are not speaking it to ourselves. And we go out like, oh,

  208. let's be relevant, let's talk whol Right, now, let's not

  209. mention God because we are so not used to speaking

  210. it with ourselves. But because but when we do share testimony,

  211. we have a testimony. You know, many times we don't

  212. have a testimony until we share it. It's bizarre, but

  213. we don't have it until we share it, you know,

  214. because we never thought about it.

  215. You know, when you when you challenge yourself and challenge USA.

  216. You know, if you've not been to like a mission

  217. trip to US as a simple mission trip, go to

  218. or see I know this is expensive. Yeah, raise some

  219. funds and sponsor someone. Okay, so go to a mission trip.

  220. And then they will always challenge you. Somebody must share testimony.

  221. And then suddenly, then suddenly I have to almost cook

  222. up a testimony. But nobody can simply cook up testimony. Right,

  223. you have to think, actually, what has got done in

  224. my life? Why it has God done my life? Oh?

  225. Okay, now I can share?

  226. Yeah, okay, all right, all right, okay, let me go

  227. to the next point. All right, Jeremiah seven three to four.

  228. I'm going to read thus says the Lord of Hosts,

  229. the God of Israel, a man, your ways and your deeds,

  230. and I will let you dwell in this place. Do

  231. not trust in these deceptive words. What are the deceptive words? Wow,

  232. this is like a song. This is the Temple of

  233. the Lord, the Temple of the Lord, the Temple of

  234. the Lord.

  235. I found this so funny. I can't really any other way.

  236. It's just this is the temple of the Lord, the

  237. Temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord. Anyway,

  238. So what's going on here? They say deceptive words? These

  239. people they come and they say, you know, they imagine,

  240. can imagine they're coming.

  241. Yeah, we're coming to church. We're coming to church. We're

  242. coming to church. This is the Temple of the Lord. Yeah,

  243. we're coming. Oh, we're gonna be blessed. We're gonna be blessed. Oh.

  244. When I touch the building, who I'm gonna receive. I'm

  245. gonna receive blessings. I'm gonna receive money for a fortune.

  246. I mean, I think it's to the extent they're becoming

  247. is like a ritual, is becoming like superstition.

  248. When I come, just that's it, that's all I need.

  249. Just come touch something, go, you know, like because I

  250. was I was, I was all Christian before this, and

  251. I used to go to temples as well, you know, uh,

  252. non non Christian temples, and.

  253. Then we go there.

  254. All right then and then uh uh there then there's

  255. this like pond, a fountain, and then you drop money in,

  256. drop money in like uh, you know, blessing, blessing, you know,

  257. on you know whatever'ing. Sure you all these things, all right,

  258. And so I believe this is what they're trying to say.

  259. Here is becoming so deceptive they think it is just coming.

  260. You know why, because these guys they are actually people

  261. of God.

  262. They're people of God.

  263. And then they go and then they're they're there, they

  264. are they are going in a wrong mind and uh

  265. they uh well, if you go into the history of

  266. it is that they were sinning. They were going to

  267. other temples as well, they were worshiping other gods. They

  268. were partiking in the activities in those temples where there's

  269. also prostitution happening, and they were if I, if i

  270. I'm not wrong, and these times so there will be

  271. probably a child sacrifice going on, and the people of

  272. God were actually taking part in those things. And then

  273. they still come to the temporal Lord they singing those

  274. songs as if well nothing and so God is trying

  275. to remind them what you are here for.

  276. So what did you say? Here? All right, a man?

  277. Your ways and your deeds, and I will let you

  278. dwell in this place. So I hope you know we're

  279. not here. Also thinking, you know, if I do all

  280. these rituals, if I just sing the songs, then I'm

  281. gonna get all the blessings, all right, and I'll go home,

  282. and nothing happens, nothing changes. So that the point here is,

  283. we come to church. Why do we come to church? Right?

  284. We come to church to be changed, to be changed.

  285. In our ways and our deeds, our way, the way

  286. we think, the way we speak, the way we act,

  287. the way we treat.

  288. One another, and our actions.

  289. Our deeds, the deeds that we do in secret, the

  290. deeds that sometimes we do openly as well.

  291. You know what needs to be changed.

  292. We come to hear the word of God, to proclaim

  293. God's word, to push down the flesh man, to raise

  294. up the faith man, and to be changed. So now

  295. thing for a while, what needs to be changed in

  296. our lives? What is something that you know God is

  297. speaking to you? This needs to be changed, And I

  298. thank God, you know we don't have to do it.

  299. On our own.

  300. He has given us the Holy Spirit. You know we

  301. need help for transformation and change. I want to tell

  302. you a quick thing, a quick story. I know pasta

  303. Dan just became pasta then not long ago. I remember

  304. my time is so you know, pat can I say, uh,

  305. start with pastoral intern. You'll be a pastoral intern, Okay,

  306. I said, okay, I mean I accepted it at that time.

  307. And then every time you know, when uh it's there's

  308. a wedding, uh, we all seated right then they always

  309. at one point they'll say, past pastors and elders come

  310. and pray. I think I was already pastor at that time.

  311. I believe, not no longer pastoral intern. All right, ordain

  312. already and stuff like that. And so whenever they call, right,

  313. I don't know why I was still in denial. I

  314. didn't want to be a pastor. I want, but I

  315. don't want, you know, I want, but don't one. And

  316. uh so whenever they call, I always stay seated, like

  317. don't you need to go up there? I need to

  318. show I'm a pastor or anything. I don't know what

  319. nonsense was there. So uh then uh then you know,

  320. you know, I'll let the others go. But then one

  321. day God rebuked me and said, stop that you're a pastor.

  322. Just go you're a pastor. Accept it, receive it.

  323. Because the people will look to you and you need

  324. to do your job.

  325. Stop being in denial. So I was the sooner you

  326. accepted the better. Yeah.

  327. So I decided, Okay, okay, I'm not gonna do this, this, this,

  328. this this denial thing anymore.

  329. I would accept it.

  330. I will be a pastor because why, I don't realize

  331. being a pastor there's expectations, there's expectations, and sometimes you

  332. feel the pressure. And uh, God the soul reminded me,

  333. you don't have to live that way. You don't have

  334. to live like with pressure, you know, just just just

  335. be genuine, you know, just you know, surrender your life.

  336. Lat to me.

  337. And so being a pastor, you know, I had to

  338. surrender my life.

  339. I had to really surrender my life.

  340. And my life changed a lot, I mean even before

  341. being a pastor, of course, being a Christian. If you

  342. think about it, everyone, just think for a moment, what

  343. has changed in your life ever since you believed in Jesus.

  344. Something has changed, right, something has changed your the way

  345. you think, the way you speak, the way you act.

  346. Even when faced with temptations and sin, you respond differently

  347. from how it was before.

  348. Right, and more to come, more to come?

  349. Amen, So the same thing here, you know, I was

  350. just telling someone because this person he is also another

  351. church plank coordinator, and he sometimes he jokes and said, yeah,

  352. your pastor's la.

  353. So more expectation, more pressure, right.

  354. More like I look at him and go like, actually,

  355. not really, Ela, not really, not really anymore. I find

  356. it a blessing to be a pastor because yeah, I

  357. cannot do it like everyone else. I cannot talk like

  358. anyone everyone else anymore. But I thank God because it

  359. guards me. It keeps me safe and I can serve God,

  360. you know, from the heart, and I know that I'm

  361. not I'm not pretending. I'm not faking it. I mean

  362. gods who tells me don't have to pretend now. I mean,

  363. passes can make mistake liice, Okay, passes. The look can

  364. be weak when it's okay, all right, But I do

  365. feel the challenge from the Lord to live my life

  366. as an example. All Right, I'm not perfect, and I'm

  367. sure Passon Canada will pick that way and also was

  368. picked a way, but the Lord is changing us. And

  369. as long as willing, you know, as long as you

  370. want it, it will happen. And it's not just for

  371. pastor is for all of us here, sons and daughters

  372. of God.

  373. Amen.

  374. Like if someone calls you a son and a daughter

  375. of God, are you comfortable, right?

  376. Oh? Praysure?

  377. Now I have to show example, but I think the

  378. sooner you be comfortable in that, the better.

  379. Amen.

  380. So that's what we're here for, we kind of church,

  381. to be changed in our ways and deeds. And then

  382. we're go on, We're gone, all right, we go Jeremiah

  383. seven five to eight right now. Okay, now we're going

  384. to read a little bit more. Okay, so yeah, just

  385. go along with me. For if you truly amend your

  386. ways and your deeds, if you truly execute justice one

  387. with another, if you do not oppress the sojournal, the

  388. fatherless or the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place,

  389. and if you do not go after other gods to

  390. your own harm, other gods to your own harm. Something

  391. times we go, we turn to other gods other things,

  392. and it actually hurts us to your own harm, it

  393. says there. Then verse seven, I will let you dwell

  394. in this place, in the land that I gave of

  395. all to your father's forever. Behold you trust in deceptive

  396. words to no avail.

  397. Now I'm reading verse nine to eleven. Will you steal, murder.

  398. Commit adultery, swear falsely, make offerings to bail, and go

  399. after other gods that you have not known verse ten

  400. and then come and then come and stand before me

  401. in this house which is called by my name, and

  402. say we are delivered, only to go on doing all

  403. these abominations? Has this house which is called by my

  404. name become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold,

  405. I'm myself have seen it, declares the Lord.

  406. Wow.

  407. I think Jesus also mentioned this right then, of thieves

  408. and robbers when he saw people selling you know, you know,

  409. animals for offering that are impure. So he flipped the

  410. tables right, he says, you know, don't turn my father's

  411. house into a house then of robbers.

  412. And then verse eighteen to nineteen.

  413. Now I'm at verse eighteen to nineteen says here the

  414. children gather wood the father's kindle fire, and the women

  415. kneed through need dough to make cakes for the Queen

  416. of heaven, and they pour out drink offerings to other

  417. gods to provoke me to anger. Is it I whom

  418. they provoke, declares the Lord. Is it not themselves to

  419. their own shame? Okay, I'll stop reading for a while.

  420. We talk about this for a while. I want to

  421. say that God is specific. If you can see all

  422. the stuff that he mentioned, He's so specific about are

  423. you going to murder? Are you going to steal? Are

  424. you going to commit adul tree? Are you going to

  425. turn to other gods? And then still shout, hey, you

  426. know we have the victory, we are delivered.

  427. But then carry on with those things. You see, this

  428. is what they are doing.

  429. They're they're they're they're doing all these sinful things to

  430. the extent of murder, stealing, adultree, false swear falsely. And

  431. then they still come back to the temple say yeah,

  432. we're coming to church.

  433. We're coming to church, all right? Uh?

  434. And so but then God says, isn't isn't it to

  435. your own shame? And I want to I want to

  436. highlight here verse eighteen and nineteen. You see verse eighteen nineteen.

  437. Here do you see her children gather wood? Sounds good?

  438. The Father's kindle fire or start a fire, and the

  439. women need doe. They're doing expresso, to buy to what

  440. to make cakes for the Queen of heaven who is

  441. that is not our God. They are making their family

  442. now serve another God and doing all these things, you know,

  443. serving you know in children's ministry, right, the fathers or

  444. samanga you know, go and chop fire and everything. It's

  445. hard work, you know, yeah, Right, and then like I said,

  446. making bread and kicks. So this I want to say,

  447. what we do it can pass on to the next generation.

  448. So let's watch what.

  449. We're doing, how we are serving you know, God, because

  450. if we continue to sin and do and serve other gods,

  451. then the next generation will follow suit.

  452. And we don't want that to happen.

  453. But if you serve God, the Lord, our God, the

  454. next generation will also follow suit.

  455. Amen. So back to the point here, what's the point? Now?

  456. Why do we come to church. We come to church

  457. just how we say it. We come to church to

  458. know to change our ways and deeds. But the next

  459. point here is we come to church to know exactly

  460. what needs to be changed. Sometimes we say change, change,

  461. change what we don't know, but there are some exact

  462. things that needs to be changed and the Lord can

  463. reveal it to us. The Lord reveals it to us

  464. and we know it. And he's merciful, all right. He

  465. doesn't tell pass and then go and tell this guy

  466. right now the stuff he's been doing.

  467. We all, we all don't really like that.

  468. We say, God, thank you, you tell them to me

  469. straight away what I need to change. But sometimes someone

  470. needs to tell you. And that's what discipleship takes place.

  471. And you know what, even better, you know what if

  472. we are able to open it up to someone else

  473. and say, you know what, I've been struggling with this.

  474. And that's why we say disciple first.

  475. And if you're not in a huddle relationship yet, or

  476. encourage you be in one.

  477. And I think we're going to do that.

  478. You know, every church plan a huddle system going on

  479. within the church plant, right, so you don't have to say,

  480. oh my huddles leaders in Cyberjaya, It's okay, I can't

  481. connect really, but now everybody can be connected in the

  482. huddle in the church plant. And so I want to

  483. encourage you confess and open up your sin to your leader,

  484. all right, if you're struggling with it, it will lot

  485. help you to overcome cool you can share as a

  486. testimony instead. You know, I used to struggle with this,

  487. but now, as the Lord changed me, I have overcome

  488. and want to encourage all of us here.

  489. You know.

  490. But you're struggling with it. Don't go through it alone.

  491. Accountability will help. Sharing it with someone. Opening up always

  492. helps you know it's already. It's the first step to victory.

  493. I got someone in Cyberjaya, a student.

  494. Recently.

  495. He I mean, he opened up for me and he said,

  496. you know, pass the jack. I'm struggling with porn I

  497. And then then I get to talk to him.

  498. I say, like, how, like what happens?

  499. Then he says, you know, because I'm alone at home

  500. a lot, and I am working on a computer a lot,

  501. because you know, I'm doing computer stuff, film and anything,

  502. you know. And uh, but then you know, when I'm alone,

  503. I get tempted and the things you know, you know,

  504. days or pops up randomly when I go on websites,

  505. and so you know, I see sharing this with me.

  506. We're also talking like, hey, so do you really need

  507. to be in the house when you.

  508. Can you go to university, a new world or whatever.

  509. Cafe say yeah, yeah, yeah, I try, but a lot

  510. of money I have to pay for coffee and everything.

  511. Then I want to save money and eat at home.

  512. Don't want to buy outside food.

  513. You know that.

  514. I say, Okay, okay, all right, But at least he's sharing,

  515. and I understand his point of view. That said, you know,

  516. you can always reach out to me anytime you feel

  517. the temptation.

  518. Just text me, call me at any time.

  519. Just do it, all right, if it helps you to overcome,

  520. and I will keep asking you. So the next way,

  521. I ask him again, so have you been still doing that?

  522. He's like okay. Then he's like, okakay, still struggle, still struggle,

  523. but he knows I'm going to ask him. So it

  524. starts to think. He starts to, you know, like okay, okay.

  525. So if are gonna ask me next week again, I

  526. better have a good answer, all right, otherwise I have

  527. a liar.

  528. No I didn't. I didn't lie.

  529. I mean, that's that's for your own bad lie if

  530. you if you want to lie, but it helps to

  531. open up, someone can check on you.

  532. All right. Now, So what do we say here? God?

  533. We come to church to know exactly what needs to

  534. be changed. So let's how about you asked the Holy Spirit?

  535. Even right now, Holy Holy Spirit, what is it that

  536. you want me to change?

  537. I'm here in your house, I'm your people. Flesh, stay

  538. down right, chill.

  539. I want the faith man to rise up right now.

  540. I want the faith man to to.

  541. Seek the Lord. And the Lord what needs to be changed?

  542. All right? Hallelujah? Amen?

  543. Now I'm gonna close sooner ready Jeremiah chapter seven, twenty

  544. three to twenty four. But this command I gave them,

  545. obey my voice, and I will be your God, and

  546. you shall be my people, and walk in all the

  547. way that I command you, that it may be well

  548. with you.

  549. But they, but they.

  550. Did not obey or incline their ear, but walked in

  551. their own councils, and the stubbornness of their evil hearts,

  552. and went backward and not forward.

  553. What did they do?

  554. They did not obey, and they walk in their own

  555. council Now, verse twenty seven to twenty eight. So you

  556. shall speak all these words to them, but they will

  557. not listen to you. They will not listen to you.

  558. You shall call to them, but they will not answer you.

  559. And you shall say to them, this is the nation

  560. that did not obey the voice of the Lord their

  561. God and did not accept discipline. Everyone say discipline, truth

  562. has perished. It is cut off from their lips.

  563. So what's the point here?

  564. We come to church to obey his word, to accept

  565. his discipline, and to keep truth alive.

  566. To keep truth alive.

  567. So you know, when we hear from the Lord, something

  568. needs to change.

  569. Okay, okay, Lord, so what is it it needs to change?

  570. Tell me?

  571. And so God tells us exactly what needs to change,

  572. all right, on and off, Like I get reminders in

  573. my mind, you know.

  574. Like hey, don't talk to your wife like that. La Hey,

  575. why you keep raising your voice?

  576. You know nowadays are it's very quick whenever I sometimes

  577. you know, emotional spur of the moment, you know, like

  578. suddenly I get questioned, you know by Jill, my wife

  579. by the way, her name is Jill, and she's like,

  580. they say, what I immediately get reminded when you speak

  581. like that, Okay, last time I is slower. Last time

  582. I was like sout for a while, like yeah, and

  583. I'll try to justify like I'm right, you know, like

  584. I have the right to speak up, you know, and

  585. stuff like that. But nowadays, a very fast stop. Okay,

  586. I'm very fast. Now I surprise myself, so I'm very fast.

  587. Sorry I did.

  588. It's almost like, don't like after you bang, then you

  589. so much you say sorry, But then at the same

  590. time it says like.

  591. It's not so not so easy to say sorry. Lie

  592. you know the change, lie you know, you know?

  593. And yeah, just telling you know, this is the work

  594. of the Holy Spirit in our lives, and so.

  595. Let's go on. Let's go on with this.

  596. Obey obey his words, so we know what to change,

  597. we know exactly what God is saying, you need to

  598. change this.

  599. Then now we need to obey. We need to obey, We.

  600. Need to hear what he's telling us and actually do it.

  601. And then we need to accept. Everyone say accept accept

  602. his discipline. What does this mean?

  603. You know? Accepting is like this what I understand? Ah,

  604. all right.

  605. For example, you are doing a science class, all right,

  606. and then the teacher tells you a concept and you

  607. don't fully get it yet, but you just say, I

  608. accept it. I don't know how to apply everything yet,

  609. but I'm just going to accept it because I trust

  610. this teacher.

  611. Okay.

  612. But the moment you go like I don't know this teacher,

  613. whether he's teaching it right. I don't like his face,

  614. so I'm not going to accept whatever they teach. You

  615. reject the knowledge, so it will never come into you.

  616. You will never get it. But if you at least

  617. accept it first. That's why teachers do need to have

  618. some likability, like, that's why you need to help the

  619. students accept you, so even if you thought wrongly, they

  620. will accept it. It's very powerful when people accept it.

  621. You know, it's the action. The word accept and action.

  622. It's all starts with acccept. It can translate to action.

  623. So when people accept it right, it can eventually translate

  624. to action. So that's why I encourage you earlier. I said,

  625. if you say yes, amen, you receive it. You are

  626. actually accepting. You don't like it fully yet. You don't

  627. like it fully yet. It's okay, But you look at

  628. this person gonna. I think he's talking. I mean, I

  629. think I don't think he's a bad person. Okay, I'm

  630. going to accept this first. I'm going to accept it first.

  631. All right.

  632. He's not putting me down, he's not shouting at me,

  633. he's not making fun of me. I think I can

  634. accept it, all right. I mean, so let's let's accept

  635. it first, and then let's let it work in your heart,

  636. let it slowly turn into action.

  637. Amen. And then I like this part here.

  638. You know, if you go back to the versus twenty

  639. seven to twenty eight, if you can help me that, yeah, XTV.

  640. So if you see here, truth has perished at the

  641. bottom here, if you do not accept discipline, truth perishes.

  642. Truth perish, and it is cut off from their lips.

  643. All right, I want to talk a little bit about this.

  644. You know, when what is truth truth normally has to

  645. be spoken. You know, what is the truth we normally

  646. we need to say it. Let me give you some example.

  647. You know, at one point in life, in my life,

  648. I was okay with something sinful, all right, something sinful

  649. probably like you know, like watching something or getting entertained

  650. by certain things, you know, And.

  651. So I was actually okay with it. I was neutral.

  652. The word is neutral, and many of us here were

  653. neutral with many things. And sometimes there's a new that's

  654. a dangerous ground because then you have no stand, You

  655. have no stand about it, and so when it happens

  656. to you, it happens to other people.

  657. Like I'm okay with it, let it be.

  658. And so that's why when this thing comes up on

  659. your screen whatever, Yeah, okay, neutral, but if you have

  660. a stand, normally truth has a stand. The truth is right,

  661. because if it's not, the truth is a lie. Yeah,

  662. so stand with the truth so that it won't die.

  663. When truth dies, then we will do all kinds of

  664. evil things. So I'll go back to the example I

  665. gave you. I was okay, I was neutral with this

  666. sinful act at one point. But I believe it's the

  667. Holy Spirit who reminded me. And even you know, just

  668. doing some research on you go like, why is this

  669. thing so bad that you're doing right now?

  670. Why is it so bad?

  671. Then I realize how harmful it is, how it damages

  672. other people's lives, you know, how it is abusive.

  673. And then I realize it's not okay. I can't be

  674. neutral this.

  675. I got to actually now be against it, be against

  676. this act, be against this sinful way. And so I

  677. started to have a stand, and I started to go like,

  678. I can't I can't keep quiet about this. I got

  679. to say something about it, and so I now speak

  680. up against it. I will actually tell people when I

  681. speak to people, I won't be neutral anymore and say hey,

  682. what do you think about you know, doing this thing?

  683. And I'll say I think it's wrong, And normally that's

  684. like quite strong, like oh okay, you actually have a stand.

  685. And so when I speak up, I'm speaking truth. It's

  686. not based on opinion, but it's a truth that I

  687. have found out this is wrong.

  688. I've got to speak up against it.

  689. I stand on it is truth, and so it is

  690. not cut off from my lips. When I stop speaking

  691. about it, then it gets cut off from my lips,

  692. and truth dies.

  693. So I want to challenge and encourage all of us here.

  694. Is there something that is true that you need to

  695. keep speaking and keep.

  696. It on your lips. Could be just testimonies, it could

  697. be just.

  698. The word of God, you know, just encouraging another person.

  699. Speak truth over another person. All right.

  700. If someone is believing in a lie, tell them the

  701. truth instead. All right, I think I'm not good enough,

  702. I think I'm lousy, but that's not the truth. That's

  703. a lie. Speak the truth over them. Don't let it

  704. die off from your lips. Tell them no, you're a

  705. child of God, you are important. God loves you. Keep

  706. speaking the truth and don't let it die off.

  707. Amen.

  708. I think we're coming to an end here, and it

  709. says here, accept discipline. I've already mentioned that, and I

  710. want to close. Do one more thing as a bank

  711. come up, and as we end here. Romans twelfth two

  712. is the final verse they will look at. Do not

  713. be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the

  714. renewal of your mind. That by testing you may discern

  715. that that or what is the will of God, what

  716. is good and acceptable and perfect. It has to do

  717. with the renewal of our minds. You know, when we

  718. accept discipline from the Lord, it is renewing our minds.

  719. When we accept what needs to be changed, it is

  720. the renewing of our minds.

  721. Let's all stand right now as a sign saying to

  722. the Lord. Yes, Lord, I want to accept. I want

  723. to accept what you're telling me. I want to accept

  724. your discipline. Plan is good. Your discipline challenges me. But Lord,

  725. if no one challenges me, then who will I thank you? Lord?

  726. I thank you Lord that you love me.

  727. You know, the Bible says whom he loves, he disciplines.

  728. And earlier we were doing communion, and you know, in

  729. First Corinthians First Corinthians, chapter eleven. It's not in my slide,

  730. but it's okay. I'll read here verse thirty two. But

  731. when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined

  732. so that we may not be condemned along with the world.

  733. You know, God loves.

  734. Us, and that's why he disciplines us so that we

  735. are not walking along in condemnation with the world, and

  736. so that we can we can walk worthy of His calling,

  737. worthy as his sons and his daughters. Anyone here this evening,

  738. you want to respond to the Lord as he's challenging

  739. you with changes that need to take place. He's giving

  740. you exact points, specific words of the changes that need

  741. to take place in your life, at work, in your family, yourself,

  742. when you're at home alone, changes that need to take place,

  743. and the Holy Spirit is telling us he wants to

  744. help us. The Holy Spirit is our helper.

  745. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more

  746. information on our church, please visit as Church Org. We

  748. this week is going to be a good week, a

  749. hit for you. God bless
