You're listening to a message to go from axt church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
Thanks. Uh.
-
That's about Christ to really have that standing and that
-
grounding in the lot. You know, sometime back I talk
-
about you know, there are this based on observation, and
-
different ones have also pointed out, not different ones, not
-
extra people, but just general church wise studies and what
-
you know, there always two groups of believers.
-
Right, one is the regulus.
-
Uh. And I'm bringing this out not out of a
-
place of judgment. It's just studies that have been done
-
and I'm pointing it out, okay, And they're the one
-
who is really committed into their relationship and what we've got,
-
which is called the disciples choosing to follow Christ. And
-
and so I I you know, and many people just
-
either could go about life. I mean, we can still
-
go about daily lives.
-
Uh.
-
And and you know, I this morning and I was reminded,
-
you know, buster Stephen, come, here's the church plank coordinator
-
for ex money, And I remember there was once a
-
student and now he's a working adult. Uh and and
-
married as well. And and I am I actually said,
-
you know, and reach all different leaders here as well
-
that there are a lot of the decisions that they
-
made and knowing Buster Stephen, uh he decides a lot
-
of things based on being a disciple first. Uh And
-
and what is being a disciple? It shows in what
-
we prioritize our decisions in. So for example, uh, I'm
-
using it as an illustration and some of you know
-
I'm using it as an illustration as well. Hi, Buster Stephen,
-
I'm using you he's.
-
Listening to this.
-
Uh So even he's married, very in love with his wife,
-
but his first priority will still be a child of God.
-
Uh And and praising God first, loving God first, then
-
his wife. Uh And because I could confidently say that
-
because he has shown it based on the decisions that
-
he made. And and when even he was a student,
-
he wasn't you know, if you're ask him, he won't
-
say that I'm a student first, but I'm a child
-
of God first.
-
So that helped him to continue on in this race
-
and to decide.
-
But there be a lot of decisions that you can
-
go ask him personally. And he has seen how God
-
has blessed him over and wor again, both in his
-
career and it's also his personal life as well. So
-
I before, I I just I have six points, but
-
I may break this into maybe two or three parts.
-
I don't think I can cover everything today, but I
-
just want to share about you know, discipleship, you know,
-
and and I want to show some photos now. And
-
it started a photo with the yeah, the Colarly Piece
-
on first. So last week we Angelina and myself, we
-
it wasn't like planned like many many months a hit,
-
but there was an urgenty that came from the ground
-
in one of the small groups of the IPG movement.
-
So this is a small group that is in IPG
-
Colarly Biased if you don't know, Colarly Piece is in Pahang, uh.
-
So so that time, I mean, the urgenty came out
-
to us because every single one that is part of
-
the small girl isn't doing well. And you know, Angela
-
being the field coordinator, we have to field coordinators. As
-
of now, we are ping that this still got to
-
raise out two more, but two Krista and herself. For her,
-
she has a view on what's going on and different
-
ones out there are very very discouraged, uh in the
-
world we've got and then they are facing a lot,
-
a lot of pressure so to the extent, you know,
-
there is stop meeting as a small girl. They want
-
to give up on things and stuff like that. And
-
when we heard it, it didn't sit right with us
-
because you know, there's so much more that can actually
-
be done, uh, and you know you don't have to
-
come to a place of giving up, and you know,
-
if there's extra support needed, we can because there is
-
a potential right right in every small group. There's a
-
potential for growth, but there's also potential for revival. And
-
the enemy always would like to close things down. When
-
there's a spark of fire, he will close it down
-
as well.
-
So this was the case.
-
And then the week itself, we left on a Friday,
-
almost close to after walk time. The drive that was
-
about we took a break in between O Sola because
-
we're the tuning for our discipleship with me up. So
-
we arrived at about eleven something at night, right eleventh
-
the DPM. So it was a long journey.
-
It was very tiring.
-
Got for that week, or so actially for quite a
-
few weeks, cause sometime now I have been tired because
-
not enough rest and why not enough rest?
-
Because I get it's like my sleep in between gets disturbed.
-
Uh. And and different things are happening in the house,
-
not the spooky one, but it's done. Natural things are
-
things are happening, and and uh, we got my sister's room.
-
It's just next to mine.
-
So whenever she's awake and whenever she's loud, I can
-
hear everything. So she she wakes up random hours. So
-
that's another story for another day.
-
But I get this stub.
-
So I'm like, you have to drive all the way.
-
I'm like, it's okay, God, you know this is going
-
to be worth it. So we were there Saturday eleven thirty.
-
The next morning, we met up with this group of people.
-
We just had a time of worship and then angually
-
the devotion and then she ministered, uh you know, and
-
and God's presence was just really really evident doing that
-
small group that we have had with them and amember
-
during the ministry time, you know, just different. One was
-
deeply moved.
-
They're crying.
-
And then after that, you know, when we talked to
-
you know, you can see right here this is the
-
picture after the countenance actually totally changed.
-
Already before that they were just all down, uh and depressed. Uh.
-
And and so yeah, so this this was the trip there.
-
And after that, you know they have made a decision. Okay,
-
we'll not give up. We'll try to come from the
-
IPG Small Grow Facilitata overnight such a long name.
-
That's happening this coming in and uh three days, two nights.
-
Uh. And it's for especially for the IPG movement. Okay,
-
small movement. And then Steph is going to be there.
-
So one of the panelies for one of the sessions. Yay.
-
And you know we got recently we have we had
-
the educators meet up and one of the things we
-
actually asked if you know the current teachers who like
-
to mentor future generations.
-
So Steph said, yeah, yeah, coming in.
-
So we gotta get her over the be on a
-
panel so that yall can go deeper with them. Your
-
means are talking those those so and and so. God
-
just transformed the situation around.
-
So praise a lot.
-
Uh.
-
And then I think this week.
-
Then after that, you know they're like, okay, I want
-
to come for that. And we know that whenever someone
-
says yes to the Lord, that itself is a potential
-
in there like every seat right, even though it was
-
it has not touched the ground yet a potential is
-
that and then once it touches ground, the ground, and
-
he has the right everything our humidity, pH water, sun,
-
and then it germinates right and then it grows uh
-
so so and the devil recognizes that as all that
-
there is a potential in every seat and and he
-
will try ways to stop us. Also, we have hit
-
had challenges even just leading up to this coming with
-
and but the team you know, decided to pray. You
-
can show the next picture online prayer every day. One
-
is the preparation of hearts, but the next is to
-
really cover because uh, we have gotten different news. Okay,
-
suddenly like Saturday we got uh laja uh you know
-
field trips, gotten around young accident. Then just now, Crystal
-
just this morning said that God, Crystal is gonna fly
-
in from Lawas. She said, Lawas Airport has been closed
-
because of bad flood uh and has been closed for
-
some time already. Right, so I pray very hard that
-
the apple will be open so she can fly over
-
so so different hindrances, but we believe that you know,
-
this overnight it's going to be a very significant time
-
of raising disciples, not just to ex church, I mean
-
in resciples in ex church, but the disciples uh former Laysia.
-
Because you know, we know that teachers have an amazing,
-
amazing influence, they have amazing potential in them as well.
-
So every revived is a disciple, and a disciple would
-
have further potentials to to continue to help Malaysia experience
-
the love of Christ. Okay, so and and and so
-
the next one all uh got more photos. So different
-
meetouts has happened in all Machen and Dennis or there.
-
This is the Cheriss team and then the next one
-
will be the I B G k L team. And well,
-
and you know it wasn't easy for both for Tree,
-
not both ANGELI Machen and Dennis uh to make it uh.
-
And and the last meet was yesterday. They drove all
-
the way from me like to KL just to meet
-
the team and then drive back at night. Sl if
-
anyone would see this home uh and this house is temporary, Uh,
-
they wouldn't have done that. But I do know that
-
the three of them, the Tree ask some cheese to
-
just and just kidding, Oh listen, Okay, they went all
-
the way because their first disciples, and they know that
-
true their soling and through loving this other IBG campuses. Uh,
-
that's gonna be, you know, just amazing things that's gonna
-
happen in the days to come. All right, So why
-
are we doing this? Because bas Cana right now, you know,
-
he says it's let's says in regards and and he's
-
still resting. Keep him in prayer for complete, complete healing
-
and recovery. But Baskena has been running the theology or leadership.
-
He has been asked to speak at a different platforms
-
as well regarding it, and he did share it all
-
for anything to last? Uh, it's you know, at least
-
you know, have at least four generations and and you
-
know today you know, I'm going to share because I've
-
shared in many manypacity, But today's sharing is going to
-
focus on the continuity of the continuation of discipleship and
-
how do we last a long haul as a church?
-
How can we last a long haul as individual disciples
-
as well? Okay, so I'm gonna cover perhaps two points
-
or three, let's see. So the first point on how
-
we can actually last is from Mark chapter twelve. Let'sten
-
to Mark chapter twelve, verse twenty eight to the t.
-
If you're there, say yay, how may I o yeah,
-
all right, yay, all right, I'll be reading from the
-
amplified version. So and the first one I'm gonna start
-
with is gonna is laying the foundation, okay, of what
-
a disciple is. Then the scribes, Okay, who are the scribes?
-
They are like modern day lawyers. Okay, they're experts in
-
the Mosaic law. They So the scribes came up to them,
-
and they started arguing with each other, those for those
-
who are arguing, And then they noticed that Jesus answered
-
the arguing people very well. So then they decided right
-
to ask Jesus which commandment is first and foremost important
-
of all?
-
And verse twenty nine.
-
Jesus answered them, the first and most important one is
-
here o Israel, the Lord, our God is one lord.
-
And you shall love the Lord your God with all
-
your heart and with all your life, and with all
-
your mind, and with all your strength.
-
Okay.
-
So for us as a church and a disciple individual
-
as well to be able to last a long haul,
-
I think, and another modern day where people like to
-
use this sustainability okay, but like I'll put it in
-
se continuation because my series has been in c CCS. Okay, uh,
-
ceries okay, nice and faster runsom So you know, this
-
very important thing for us to continue to go keep
-
going is love, all right, loving the Lord our God
-
with what, with all our hearts, with all our life,
-
with all our mind, our and our strengths, what is mine,
-
our understanding, whatever that is logic to us our thinking processes.
-
To love God with that as well, because our mind
-
is the greatest CBO of all time, right, central processing unit.
-
CPO in all your computer CPO. Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay.
-
Y'all know that now like top eighth yead don't use
-
CPUO anymore personally, know we know, we know the same era,
-
same era CPUs. So our mind is the greatest CPO,
-
and a lot of times our mind is the one
-
that always would have tried to think think loge logically
-
that will sometimes contridict with what God is saying as well,
-
right of our own understanding of things, but not through
-
the perspective of what God is.
-
Seeing it as all right.
-
So love is the foundation of being a disciple. And
-
without loving the Lord our God, first, we have nothing, okay.
-
And because we love God, right, it will continue to
-
motivate us, it will continue to propel us to follow him,
-
all right. And then it does not just stop there,
-
you know, It moves on to verse thirty one. It says,
-
this is the second you shall amplified version says you
-
shall unselfishly love your neighbor as a self. There is
-
no other commandment greater than this, all right. So it
-
will propel us to continue to follow Christ. But it
-
will propel us to serve each other as well, and
-
it will enable us, right or when we love God
-
with our heart, it will enable us to love others
-
as ourself and not you know, desire and sick, you know,
-
things just for us. But when we will desire and
-
sick things for the betterment and for the good of
-
the person that's next to us.
-
All right.
-
So the Greek word here, okay, those of us who
-
already know, is agapeo agape. Love is agape. And it's
-
actually not so much of a matter of emotion only,
-
but it is the place of action, all right, benefiting
-
doing things that will benefit other people, not out of
-
selfish desires. But it's the willingness to continue to seek
-
the best of another person.
-
That's what.
-
Will continue to keep us going. It all different ones
-
of us we have a different I not use the
-
word expiry date, but it's not expired dated. What you
-
call it life spend.
-
And you know the days.
-
Our days are numbered and only the Lord knows, okay,
-
But even as our days are numbered, we have every
-
day to make it count and every day that counts,
-
every day that lovest the lot first and loving his creation.
-
And it's not easy. It's easier said than done, all right.
-
Which I'm gonna come to that later, but you keep
-
that thought for now, and I'm gonna expand it a
-
little bit further, all right. So that's the first to
-
cont for the church to continue to make disciples, for
-
us as a disciple, to continue in our journey of
-
following Christ, and to continue to help others as well
-
to make more disciples. So each and everyone of you
-
here actually see a potential in you that you will
-
one day be able to disciple another person. You know,
-
no matter who you are, where you're at, you have
-
the potential to disciple another person. So you can turn around.
-
It's like, hey, you know you have the potential to
-
make a disciple. Okay, So love, loving the lot and
-
loving others. The second one is being stepped fast okay,
-
being committed, being dedicated and persistent. You know, the IPG
-
movement came about because that's the Crystal and that's the
-
angel the angey Okay, that didn't give up. Uh. History
-
not really history not too long ago when there were
-
two of the IPG campuses that said that we want
-
to do small group right or it was sleepys and.
-
Was it one one?
-
Okay, we've got a sleepeas and they say on those
-
small group and then you know, our small group team
-
in the office had a meet out with them discussion.
-
Then after that they wereized, Ah, this is too difficult
-
or too much comming. I don't want to we don't
-
want to do and then uh, when Crystal heard it,
-
I heard it, Angually heard it like, no, you know
-
it's still too premature and too early to give up
-
H and to say that, you know, this is not
-
for us, so we persisted. UH. And it takes a
-
lot commit money. Can ask Angeline and ask Crystal uh
-
because being few coordinators, they are in communication with the
-
team often. On top of that, they have their own
-
jobs to do, so many other classes to teach, UH,
-
and their own life to do. I don't know what
-
else yet you can ask Angelici has a long list
-
of things, but you know she is committed. Both her
-
and Crystal, they're committed to see.
-
Uh.
-
Actually all the ibgs in experiencing the love of Christ.
-
And it takes a disciple and a follow up Christ
-
to be able to commit to continue to be step
-
fast in the work that God has caught us. Uh,
-
to be step fast not just the word right, to
-
be stepfast in our faith. Uh. You know many times
-
a lot of people just fall away and they go
-
call back slafe because that's not that fastness. Uh. You
-
know the other word these days that people are used greet, right,
-
you know, the stubbornness in a good way to continue
-
to hang on, to continue to persevere and and to
-
live out the ways of God. You know, the Bible says, right,
-
why it's the road that leads to destruction, but narrow
-
is the way. It's the road that leads to life.
-
And when it's a narrow road, meaning it's going to
-
be difficult. Ah. And and it's what you know, I'm
-
gonna paraphrase this first.
-
It says easy it's the.
-
Road, right, that is why highway is very easy right
-
to travel, but try traveling from Kuching to Lawas by road. Okay, now,
-
thank God for the pan Borneo Highway. But you know,
-
if you're to travel all the way to Laha to
-
let's say, from it's tough. It's difficult. Narrow is the road,
-
But narrow is the road that leads to life. And
-
when we continue to hang on to God's ways, to
-
live it up and to endure all difficult times in
-
our road here, enduring difficult times, we will come up
-
more victorious. You will come out overcoming the challenges and situations.
-
So being stepped fast. And guys, do not give up.
-
You know, when things are difficult, when you have ten
-
thousand assignments on your table that you have to come
-
summit tomorrow, that's how you'll hear the word assignment trauma.
-
Okay, do not give up. And and and when your bills.
-
Are coming knocking at your door that you have to settle,
-
do not give up. Persist on a true disapple of Christ.
-
Don't not give up easily our faith. We persist on.
-
Okay, all right, Uh, oh time, all right. Number three.
-
The third one is obedience and accountability. Ah all right,
-
So this is not a common word these days. Uh,
-
you know, with this h of all the freedoms and
-
the rights that we have as a human being. But
-
let's go back to the origins of human being, right,
-
the word of God. And let's see what the word
-
of God says uh. In Titus chapter three, verse one,
-
Titus Titus Titus chapter three, verse one. I am reading
-
from the ESV version. It says, yeah, remind them.
-
M hm.
-
That's why I'm reminding you guys today. Remind to be
-
submissive to ruleers and authorities, to be obedient, and then
-
to be ready for every good word. Okay, I'm going
-
to break up this point two obedience, accountability to men
-
and then to God. All right, So Titus tree one
-
is to men, all right. Have a few more verses
-
as well. Romans chapter three, verse one to two. Romans
-
Chapter three, verse one to two, ESV version. Also, well,
-
God says here in verse one, let every person be
-
subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority
-
except from God, and those that exist have been instituted
-
by God.
-
That's all.
-
Whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed. And
-
those raises were in judgment. Romans chapter thirteen, verse one
-
to two susan.
-
Loma loma.
-
So yes, it's strange not having a translator here today.
-
It got so used to having realized bilingo. Right, So yes,
-
dose of you. You know, if God's stirring you up,
-
the translating man gene translation can let us know, okay.
-
Romans chapter thirteen, verse one to two, all right, and
-
then the next one Ephicients chapter six, verse five to eight.
-
You can write it down, but I will read it
-
to us also from the.
-
ESV version.
-
Bond servants obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling,
-
with a sincere heart, as you would Christ by the
-
way of eye service as people please us, but as
-
bond servants of Christ, doing the will of God from
-
the heart, rendering service with a good will as to
-
the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatever good
-
anyone does this, he will receive back from the Lord,
-
whether he is a bond servant or is free.
-
Okay, all right? So now also that is.
-
Obedience and submission to men, and but not just to men,
-
to any man, but it's to the authority that God
-
has instituted, that God has placed over us.
-
All right.
-
And then to let's see what God says about submitting
-
to God.
-
All right.
-
John chapter fourteen, verse fifteen, ESV version says, if you
-
love me, you will keep my commandments. John chapter fourteen,
-
verse fifteen, John fourteen fifteen. And then John chapter fourteen,
-
verse twenty one. He says that whoever has my commandments
-
and keep them, he it is who loves me. And
-
he who loves me will be loved by my father,
-
and I will love him and manifest myself to him.
-
And then Looke chapter eleven, verse twenty eight, Look eleven
-
twenty eight. But he says ya, But he said, blessed
-
rather are those who hear the word of God and
-
keep it? All right, You guys are good, okay. And
-
then the next verse X chapter five, verse twenty nine.
-
What does it say here.
-
ESV version.
-
But Peter and the apostles answered, we must obey God
-
rather than men, all right, And the context of this
-
verse right, if you read the verses earlier, so basically
-
they have been challenged in their faith. So okay, let's
-
read from verse twenty two. All right, then you'll understand
-
where this verse is coming from verse twenty two of
-
X five. But when the officers came and did not
-
find them.
-
In the prison. They written and reported.
-
Verse only three, saying, indeed, we found the prison shut securely,
-
and the guards standing outside before the doors. But when
-
we opened them, we found no one inside verse twenty four. Now,
-
when the high priests, the Captain of the temple, and
-
the chief priests heard these things, they wondered what the
-
outcome would be verse twenty five. So one came and
-
told them, saying, look, the men whom you put in
-
prison are standing in a temple at teaching the people.
-
What happened was twenty four. Then the captain went with
-
the officers and brought them without violence, for they feared
-
the people lest they should be stone verse twenty seven.
-
And when they brought them, they set them before the council,
-
and the high priests asked them verse only eight, saying,
-
did we not strictly command you not to teach in
-
the name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your
-
doctrine and intend to bring this man's blood on us.
-
And then Peter replied, that's where the reply came, right.
-
But Peter and the other apostles answered and said, we
-
ought to obey God than men, all right. So this
-
is the context of the verse. You know, when the
-
world challenges us and persecutes us and tell us, right,
-
did we not command you not to teach in the
-
name of Jesus? Did we not command you and give
-
you rules that you cannot actually preach the word of God?
-
You know? I hope you know we are able to
-
reply that I'm doing this because I'm obeying the Lord,
-
and this is what the Lord is commanding us to do.
-
So obedience, okay, obedience itself, it's a very key important
-
condition of being a disciple. Obedience to the Lord first
-
and to his word first. And what does obedience you know, do?
-
All? Right?
-
You know?
-
Sein, you know right?
-
We live in a sinful nature, sinful environment. The world
-
is sinful.
-
Uh.
-
And and every human you know, we have uh, we
-
call it. Yeah, I have to break it down simpler ways.
-
We have sinful nature. And that's and and like every
-
every baby as well, when they're born, every child, right,
-
they're not taught to tell lies, but somehow they're not
-
to tell lies. They are not taught to be violent,
-
but somehow they are violent.
-
Uh.
-
They're not taught to steal, but somehow they steal, and
-
they don't know that it's wrong.
-
But that's that.
-
Nature in them already, and and and so scene will
-
continue to steer us right, will continue, the directors will
-
continue to distract us towards the path of disobedience. But
-
when we are disciples of Christ, when we are rooted
-
and grounded in the lot, we are able, we are
-
able to identify, like, hey, you know it is bringing
-
this is actually bringing me further and further away from
-
a lot. This is causing me to disobey the word
-
of God. I need to stop it. So obedience, you know,
-
takes us, you know, coming to a place like to
-
say that I want to reject whatever this world has
-
offered me. You want to reject what's seen, you know,
-
the pleasures of sin. Sin is very pleasurable, right because
-
it fits into our kernal nature, if it's to our flash,
-
if it's to our human needs and our human one
-
human ones. But obedience will continue to stare us and
-
propel us to continue to pursue God's will for our life. Yeah,
-
so obedience to the Lord is it goes to hating sin,
-
all right, So that is obedience part. Let's look at
-
about accountability, all right, Ezra Chapter eight All Testomer Exra
-
Chapter eight, verse twenty eight to verse thirty four. You
-
can actually write that down, but I will not read
-
all the verses. Okay, So what happened was the twelve men, right,
-
Ezra selected this twelve men to carry gold, silver, and
-
bronze items okay, into Jerusalem. And before they start transporting them,
-
it was accounted for their weight, and then they account
-
for it and then delivery happens. So and instructions were
-
given right in twenty eight to twenty nine the verse
-
it says that you know you as well as these
-
are items okay, the goal civil and bronze that they
-
are transporting have been conscert created. Uh. They were asked
-
to guide them carefully until they weigh them out. So
-
upon the arrival at the destination, they were supposed to
-
weigh again to make sure they did not drop something
-
along the way. So they are supposed to carefully weigh
-
and then their duty is done. So what accountability is, right,
-
is a responsibility for us.
-
Believe us.
-
For fulfilling our duties and our obligation as a disciple.
-
Okay.
-
So the twelfth priests right in Ezra chapter eight, you
-
know they were required to carry out their priestly duties
-
and the priestly duties was still transport all this precious
-
metal right to Jerusalem. And then you know they fasted
-
and they seek God for protection during the journey as well.
-
And why they do that because they want to continue
-
to keep guard, all right. So that's what accountability is
-
for us, That it starts with taking personal responsibility of
-
our own actions, our own faith, and making conscious choices
-
of allowing God and allowing the people that God plays
-
in our life which is around us right to help
-
us accomplish the calling and the role and the duty
-
that God has placed in our hands.
-
Right.
-
And so for example, the IPG I talk about the
-
smuggle again, they wanted to stop, right, But then initially
-
they wouldn't want to say that, hey, we want to
-
start doing something. So why do we have a follow
-
up and make sure we have a follow through together
-
with them every time? Because this is what they have
-
committed to do. And sometimes because of different things, we
-
can get distracted along the way, discouragements, right and give up.
-
God has placed is people around in our lives to
-
make it obvious to us, like, hey, you know you
-
have committed to this already. So people in our lives
-
to help us keep accountable what we have committed to.
-
So that is, you know, driving from an example of
-
the IBG group as well. So sometimes we can say,
-
you know, I'm only accountable to God, not the people
-
around us. But it's the people around us that can
-
notice the most obvious things. The people around us can
-
be our true mirror. No word, God is our mirror,
-
but it's the sometimes the first thing God. Sometimes, you know,
-
if our frequency is not right right, it might not
-
even be in tune with God's voice and his leading.
-
But God uses people around us to continue to keep
-
us in check. All right, So continue, okay, to allow
-
us you unpacked and get rooted in this church to
-
continue to actually like growing, we have to continue to
-
be obedient to the Lord, be accountable to him and
-
to the paper that places around us as well. Oh right,
-
I'm going to close with this last point, but this
-
last one I won't be finish the whole point as well,
-
but let me try.
-
Okay.
-
So, being a disciple of Christ and to continue to
-
be able to be that and see church continue to
-
be that as well, is we have to deny ourself.
-
What does it mean?
-
Okay, let's look and met chapter sixteen, verse twenty four
-
to twenty six. I'm reading from the New Living Translation version.
-
It saysya.
-
Then, Jesus said to his disciples, if anyone desires to
-
come after me, let him what deny himself, take up
-
his cross and follow me. For whoever desires to save
-
his life will lose it, But whoever loses his life
-
for my sake will find it. For what profit is
-
it to a man if he gains the whole world
-
but loses his own soul? And what will a man
-
give in exchange for his soul? So what has God
-
been challenging you to give up and to take up
-
the cross and follow him?
-
You know?
-
Or another version say to deny yourself and follow him?
-
What has God been challenging us to do? And a
-
lot of times God will challenge us the areas that
-
he'll touch, areas that we see it.
-
It is my right to have it.
-
It's my right to feel this way, it's my right
-
to do this, it is my right to do that.
-
But when we deny ourselves of our rights, you're saying, God,
-
I'm taking this cost and following you. So let me
-
just give a few examples, okay. Romans Chapter twelve, verse
-
nineteen to twenty. Romans chapter twelve. So for this point
-
I'll be reading all from the New Living Translation version.
-
Romans chapter twelve, verse nineteen to twenty. Says your dear friends, Hello, God,
-
never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God.
-
For the scripture says I will take revenge. I will
-
pay them back, says the Lord. Instead, feed your enemies
-
who are hungry, if they are thirsty, give them something
-
to drink. In doing this, who will keep burning coals
-
of shame on their heads? So an example, all right,
-
you know you have the right to take reveng You
-
know this person has around you all the ways, has
-
stolen your yours car burn down your condominium, cause you
-
to lose your career, and a top.
-
Institution in Malaysia. You have all the right to stand
-
out and fight and take the revenge. But God says, what.
-
Feed your enemies when they're hungry, if they're thirsty, give
-
them something to drink. You know there's a time and
-
place for rights. You know, justice to prevail. But perhaps
-
you know God, sometimes it's also challenging us that to
-
check ourselves. Are we doing it out of spike? Are
-
we doing it out of a place on one thing,
-
revenge only because you know what God says, right, leave
-
the revenge to God. He will settle your bill. Right
-
if God has allowed it to happen. God has allowed
-
your views to be stolen and your condo. But now
-
God was set a bill, and it's for us to
-
continue to put our faith and our trust in him,
-
all right, so we have the right, all the rights
-
to revenge. You know the story about when in twenty
-
ten we you know, but also note this down somewhere
-
I can't remember. I think it's chin up.
-
Our We were supposed to secure a building.
-
Uh. It was called Lot ten Gourse. It's Union number ten.
-
It's a factory building and a part of time, you know,
-
you know Canneth had in mind so like, hey, you know,
-
let's let's build a big church with you know, the
-
it's a factory law that we can do many many
-
different things.
-
Uh.
-
And we did, you know, fundraising for it, and people
-
gave to the Lord h. It was a lot of money.
-
And we raised enough money for the earnest deposit.
-
Uh.
-
And we were still you know, waiting for I think
-
the bank loan of sudden money to come in for
-
the major about so we're servicing, like you know, while
-
you're waiting the waiting period to pay fines, we were
-
servicing the finance well. So it came out to a
-
couple of million in total. And in the end what
-
happened was the owner of the building, without letting us know,
-
actually saw the building to another buyer. Okay, while we
-
have already paid all the different moneys already. So at
-
that part in time, you know, definitely it was a
-
very very sad time for us.
-
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, yes.
-
So so we we so we raised enough for everything
-
and Barcelrondsa reminded and you know, we managed to have
-
the full sum uh to be able to buy the building.
-
That's where we found out that we actually lost it.
-
So buy every rights and law you can actually sue
-
the seller, right. And different ones came in like oh
-
and gets lawyer and stuff like that. Uh. And when
-
passa kind of seek God and ask God, God said,
-
do not do anything.
-
Wow.
-
And and a part of the time, you know, I
-
remember different ones. I know, you know they saw off
-
their car. Uh they did not okay, so they saw off.
-
Their car, they you know, gave to God.
-
Uh. In the fundraising. They took up their children's education
-
fund and put it in. So a lot of people
-
sacrificed to put it in. And imagine you know how fast,
-
you know, as as the father house would feel. But
-
when you ask God, God said, do not do anything.
-
Uh and and and you know vengeance is mine. You know,
-
revenge is mine like what Isai and Romans taught, don't
-
do anything. It was difficult, but because of that right
-
we saw things turning around. We didn't see anyone living church,
-
but church even grew further, We planted out even way,
-
many more churches. The whole small church or small group
-
movement even came about as well. We are church in
-
many many different locations. If we would have that building,
-
I think we will all still be at one place,
-
maybe one to speakers, one to worship team. But now
-
because you know of that incident God has if you
-
talk about extreme team and worship team in ext church
-
as well, collectively we have close to three hundred people
-
as compact. If we were still in one location, we
-
wouldn't have speakers as well. We have like thirty over
-
speakers or twenty over speakers on Sunday and many more
-
things that we could celebrate off. But it just took
-
that one incident for God forgot to tell us don't
-
do anything. And it took past the cannon's obedience and
-
submission to say like, okay, God, whatever it is you
-
have in control, so and and the amazing thing right.
-
A lot of times we feel like, hey, you know,
-
I'm giving money to church. But because the attention, the
-
focus at the point of time and different ones of
-
also into right was our giving was unto the lot
-
and got reminded past the Kenneth your church did not
-
give money to you for the fund raising. Your church
-
did not give money to ex church for fund raising,
-
but they gave the money to me. They gave the
-
money to the lot, and the Lord settled the bill
-
for us. Uh and in ways that we can't imagine.
-
If you ask us whether we've got the millions we
-
can get back now, but what we got back was
-
way more and the ability to even disciple nations. Now
-
we are in five different continents, I think it's five
-
or four, five different continents with at least fifty five
-
worship services planted or globally, so we can only be
-
that place. And thank God, you know, pasta Cannas has
-
always been obedient to the Lord, and whenever he teaches
-
us to give, it was giving unto him. So God
-
settled the bill for us, all right. And I'm going
-
to close now, and she this point has a lot,
-
a lot of examples I want to draw up, but
-
it's okay.
-
I'll keep it for the next round.
-
Denying ourselves taking out the cross and follow him, denying
-
our rights of what we can have or what we
-
should have, but allowing God to have us, allowing God
-
to have our lives. And it can only come from
-
a place when we are able to be submissive to
-
the Lord, being accountable to him. It can only come
-
to a place that we love Him with all that
-
we have and all that we have got. And this
-
will continue to spur us on to be stepfast, to
-
be persistent, and to be committed.
-
And this is what our faith.
