You're listening to a message to go from acts Church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
Prompting me to speak about the Trinity. So we're gonna
-
talk about the Trinity today. Okay, Okay, I hope Again
-
I'm not that greater teacher, but I hope whatever I've
-
thought would just make you interested, curious, uh, and hunger
-
to read the word yourself and really know because we
-
all say we you know, we love our God? Do
-
we really know our God? And if you don't know
-
and understand the Trinity, you don't really know our God. Okay,
-
So we're gonna start off with as some question I
-
hope this works. Okay, how many of you've done Menimeter before?
-
We're gonna do a little questionnaire. You can scan this now.
-
The only thing is I think it's only limited to
-
fifty participants because it's a free account. So maybe couples
-
can share one scan. Yeah, if you're on a share one,
-
you can, although your answers may be personal, so it's
-
a bit hard. It's not a not a quiz, more
-
of just to see what everyone's understanding and your your own,
-
your own a relationship with the Trinity. Okay, The kids
-
don't need to scan. I think most of you don't
-
have phones. Some of you maybe have. But if any
-
kid comes up and answer, I'll give you something from here, okay,
-
a little treat not right wrong, as long as you
-
come up answer no, only the kids. All right? Are
-
you already? Everyone scan? If you scan readly, just raise
-
your hands so I know you're in. Do you get in?
-
Yeah?
-
You'll see the page with a question. Okay, the xtual.
-
We can help me to move into the questions. Only
-
five questions. Okay, five questions, and the first one is
-
coming up. I think you already see it on the screen.
-
You can answer, who do you usually pray or talk to?
-
Any keep on, come up here and tell me your answer.
-
Who do usually pray or talk to? God, the Father,
-
Jesus or the Holy Spirit? And come up? Come? Yay?
-
What's your name? LeRoi? Welcome? He right, first time right today? Here? Okay?
-
Who do you usually talk to or pray to? Old tree?
-
Old tree?
-
Wow?
-
Okay, come choose one, come thank you. Okay, let's see
-
what what did most people answer? Sixteen said or three,
-
five said Father God, five said Jesus. Zero A lot
-
of holy spirit, holy spirits very said, oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
-
maybe okay, but holyp you didn't get like majority. Okay,
-
all right, next question, what is the trinity? Can put it?
-
Can put the question up? I forgot what answers I
-
put there? Okay, three gods one God with three heads,
-
and God is three persons? Any any keep un com Isaiah?
-
Come okay, if your answer you put up your hand again,
-
I'll call you up so that you don't run up
-
here and trip on each other. Okay, those are on
-
the phones. You can not changing. Didn't go to the
-
next light. Oh oh wait, presenter says, wait, okay, now
-
might be let the kids and so first you saw
-
the three answers, right, I don't remember what Okay, is
-
a three gods? Then God with three hates got his
-
three persons? Good job, It's okay. No worries if if
-
if the thing is not following, I think it requires
-
the presenter to press the next one. Shall I move on? Okay?
-
The third question, when did Jesus exist? Let me let
-
me see whether I can move it from my side.
-
Let's try mm hmm. Okay, first one, are you seeing
-
the question? Yeah? I know my husband's gonna say in
-
the beinninging from the benninging, second is when he was
-
conceived of the Holy Spirit. And lastly when you're I
-
was born of the Virgin Mary. Can you answer on
-
the phone or cannot? Cannot? Hey, oh I can't? I
-
so can I move it from my side? Oops? Okay,
-
we let the kids answer us. Who has the come?
-
Oh?
-
We got not anyone? Come? Can tell your one? Your name? Alitia? Alitia? Okay,
-
what is your answer? Oh it's not there? Do you
-
remember the three? Can you remember?
-
You know?
-
I let me bring it out. I read it to
-
you again. Oh okay, see I cannot go next? Oh there, okay,
-
So the first one from the beginning, second one when
-
he was conceived of the Holy Spirit, that is, when
-
he was born of the Virgin Mary. Which one one
-
to a tree from the beginning while you're also clever? Okay,
-
come some of you wondering, is it really am I?
-
We're going to the world a bit monitor okay. Fourth question,
-
when did the Holy Spirit come to being? Okay, okay,
-
can presenter never mind you consider the questions. So okay,
-
I'll just read it out. First one always existed. Two
-
when he ascended on Jesus like a dove and sorry
-
descended this ended just like a dove. And thirdly, when
-
the Father send him to the apostles, everyone answer, okay, come,
-
I saw Ariel's hand first adult. You're just thinking of
-
an answer in your hair? Huh. Sorry, he meant me
-
didn't work. I feel like I'm wrong when I think
-
I'm wrong. But okay, that's that's right. When did the
-
Holy Spirit come to being when the Father sent him
-
to the apostles? Go send him to apostles. I told
-
you you can get even if the answer is wrong,
-
so you still get for coming up. Anyone else want
-
to try? Good job, good try real Ridley, you want
-
to try? Okay? Come okay? When did Holy speak on
-
the being always existed when he descended on Jesus like
-
a dove, or when the Father send him to the apostles?
-
We should always existed when he descended on Jesus, or
-
when the Father send him to the postils one to
-
a tree? When when always existed? Something? That's nasha God?
-
All right?
-
Okay? Last question? Last question? Oh yeah, this one, this one,
-
I need the word cloud. Never mind, let's see if
-
anyone want to shout out some answers. Ah, what analogies.
-
Have you heard trying to explain the trinity? Egg? What else?
-
My low? Three in one? My lower? What the hattey ow?
-
Is it? What else? Any kids? Kids? Have you heard
-
of any try and go? Anymore human being? Or like
-
father son Nen the police, birds, who body, soul? Spirit? Anymore?
-
Star Wars? How is that? I saw?
-
Know here?
-
Okay, all the Jedi fans the first be with you,
-
all right, So we've all heard all kinds of Yeah,
-
I've heard coffee and tree run coffee. I can't remember
-
what else, but there's people have been trying over the
-
years to try to come up with an analogy to
-
explain the trinity, but nothing will, nothing will be good
-
enough to explain the Trinity. Yeah, and thank you kids
-
for participating and adults, sorry couldn't fully participate. But I
-
want to just get the ball rolling on this topic
-
because it is an interesting one and I think, I
-
don't know, I think until we meet him in heaven,
-
and we may not fully comprehend this whole theory. But
-
let's look a little bit into what the Trinity is
-
all about, who He is and the really the basis
-
of our faith is that God is three persons, you
-
can bring up the slides with the triangle. Right, each
-
person is fully God. Hey, God is three persons. Each
-
person is fully God. But there is one God. Right,
-
we don't say we have three gods. We have one God,
-
but he is three persons and each of them is
-
fully God. Our brains are already blowing up right with
-
this concept. But how and how do we know God
-
is three persons? So we're gonna look into two things today.
-
I'm gonna start with this first. If you're if you're
-
taking notes, Let's look first at the uniqueness of each
-
person of the trinity. Because when we identify and see
-
that they are unique, then you you will agree that
-
they are three persons. Okay, So who should we look
-
at first? Let's look at God the Father. Okay, I'm
-
gonna probably have to rest true because I don't know
-
how I'm gonna get through all these I've got like
-
forty of us slights. I think it's one one minute,
-
but there's gonna be a lot of verses. I think
-
the Bible someway is self explanatory. Hope, and we take
-
it down, you will catch this for yourself. So God
-
the Father, let's see the first verse first thing that
-
we recognize about God, the Father is he loves the
-
world and he loves me. Why everyone knows John three sixteen.
-
Why don't you read it out with me? For God
-
so love the world that he gave his only begotten son,
-
so that whoever believes in him should not perish but
-
have everlasting life. The Father loves us so much. That's
-
the first thing that we know about our heavenly Father,
-
that he loves earth and he loves everyone in the world.
-
Second one second verse from John five, verse twenty six.
-
Most verses I put it up here. There will be
-
some that I asked you to turn to, but most
-
of it I put it here for the ease of
-
reading it quickly. Okay, shall we read the verse together?
-
For as the Father has life in himself, so he
-
has granted the son to have life in himself and
-
has given him authority to execute judgment. Also because he
-
is the son of man, and we see here the
-
father grants the son life. Have you ever read that
-
the father granted the son life, and he also gave
-
the son to judge? Okay, this is the father doing
-
his Father gave the son authority to judge. Let's look
-
at the next verse, John seventeen, verse twenty one. Ye, kids,
-
I know you're right now in law versus can take
-
it down and read it at home. Can't go back
-
and read the word on your own. Now, we don't
-
God the Father sent the son because in John seventeen,
-
verse twenty one, it says that they all may be one,
-
as you Father are in me and I in you,
-
that they also may be one in us. That the
-
world may believe that you sent me, right you, the Father,
-
you sent me, The Father sent Jesus. What else did
-
the Father do? Let's look at John chapter seventeen, verse
-
twenty two. So just the next verse, next verse, Yes,
-
and the glory which you gave me, I've given them
-
that they may be one, just as we are one. Again,
-
here we see the Father gave the son glory, specific
-
things that the Father did. Father gave the sun glory
-
next night, And I think about the Father. He gives
-
me good gifts. How many of you have been so
-
blessed by the gifts that God has given us. In
-
James one, verse seventeen, he says, whatever is good and
-
perfect is a gift coming down to us from God,
-
our father who created all the lights in the heavens.
-
He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. So Father
-
really is a giver of life, the giver of good gifts.
-
He loves me unconditionally, He has forgiven me. And really,
-
I don't know how many of you here agree with
-
this our identity. I know that my identity is knowing
-
that I am His child, and nothing can separate me
-
from His love, his grace, his mercy. Did I put
-
another verse there? Recall? Now, yeah, you can read Romans.
-
You can take that verse down. Maybe I can read
-
it quickly to us, Okape Romans, chapter eight. And I
-
think I declared this last week over us as well,
-
eight thirty one to thirty nine. What then shall we
-
say to these things? If God is for us, who
-
can be against us? He who did not spare his
-
own son, but delivered him up all for us all,
-
how shall he not with him also freely give us
-
all things? Who should bring a charge against God's elect
-
It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns?
-
It is Christ who died, And furthermore, it's also Risen,
-
who is even at the right hand of God, who
-
also makes intercession for us? Who shall separate us from
-
the love of Christ. Just knowing that thought, you know,
-
it's I think it get you through anything. Okay. Who
-
can separate us from the love of Christ shall tribulation
-
and distress, or persecution, of famine, or nakedness or peril
-
or sort as it is written, for your sake, we
-
are killed all day long. We are counted as sheep
-
for the slaughter. Yet in all these things you are
-
more than conquerors through Him who loved us. And this
-
the verse. For I am persuaded. And neither death, nor life,
-
nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor
-
things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other
-
created things shall be able to separate us from the
-
love of God, from the love of God, from the
-
love of God, the Father, which is in Christ, Jesus
-
our Lord. So really, just knowing that nothing can separate
-
us from the love of the Father, you know that
-
should keep us going his love, his grace, his mercy. Okay,
-
So that that is unique about the Father. Let's look
-
at the Son. Let's look at Jesus. Philippians, chapter two,
-
verse six to eight. It says, you have heard me
-
say to you, I'm going away and coming back to you.
-
If you loved me, you would rejoice because I said,
-
I'm going to the Father, for my Father is greater
-
than I. Have you ever noticed that before? The Father
-
is greater than I. So the first thing I'm going
-
to point out, but Jesus is God's what actually says
-
he's less than the Father? You know, how can it be?
-
How is that? Is this best for me? No? Let
-
me just explain it a bit, because if you read
-
these you're like, why is just less than the Father?
-
In the form of man. When Jesus was on earth
-
as a man, as human flesh, right, he was less
-
than the Father. That's why he speaks that way, right,
-
But in the form of God he is equal. There's
-
another verse. I need to see whether I put it
-
up there. If not, I'll point it out to you.
-
But it talks about Jesus, not you know, counting it.
-
He didn't think like, just because I'm EQO with God,
-
I need to cling on to that. Yeah, that's a verse.
-
So he says, yeah, the Son is less than the Father. Kay.
-
Of course when he was on earth, he came to
-
the earth to do the will of the Father. Okay,
-
So Jesus again, this is his uniqueness, and he came
-
to earth. He's the only one who came to earth
-
to do the will of the Father and says, why
-
I've come down from heaven to do the will of
-
God who sent me, not to do my own will.
-
John chapter six, verse thirty eight. And then if you
-
look in Mark chapter thirteen, verse thirty two, did you
-
know Jesus doesn't know everything that the Father does. He
-
said it himself in Mark thirteen thirty two. But of
-
that day and hour, no one knows, not even the
-
angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
-
And this is about the timing the end of times.
-
Jesus said, not even the Son knows, only the Father. Okay.
-
And actually, when you read through the gospels right, it
-
will make you wonder when did Jesus actually have fell knowledge?
-
Means he knew something beforehand, and when he didn't because
-
he was both fully man and fully God. Again, something
-
that blows our minds because we can't comprehend it because
-
fully God is fully man. When were the times that
-
he was in his humanness humanity that he didn't know
-
certain things to come? Yeah, And when did he operate
-
in his divinity? We can see in Luke chapter two,
-
verse fifty two. Forgot if I put it up there again,
-
do I have that first day of not I ready
-
to us? Luke two, verse fifty two, Okay, if you're there,
-
you can follow me talks about when Jesus was growing up.
-
I can't turn my page to fifty two. It says,
-
and Jesus increased in wisdom and stature and in favor
-
with God and men increased in wisdom, meaning he didn't
-
have all the wisdom to begin with. I mean, I'm
-
sure you I don't already thought about it. But when
-
he was born heastantly like know everything as an infant
-
came out born, and he had all the wisdom already
-
knew everything that God was going to do. No, he
-
grew right, he was, He really was in human form
-
like kids like you, like little ones like easy from young.
-
He grew up and he grew in wisdom. He grew
-
in knowledge, and he grew in understanding over time. Yeah,
-
let's look at and I love this because you know
-
John three sixteen very well? Do you know first John
-
three sixteen. Let's look at the next verse, first John
-
tree sixteen. We know what real love is because Jesus
-
gave up his life for us, so we also ought
-
to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.
-
Jesus is the one who sacrificed his life for us.
-
He suffered and died for me. Why saw that we
-
can come to the Father? Right? Because we can't. We
-
can't go to the Father at all. He's word says
-
anyone who sees God will will not live. If you
-
read by in the Old Testament. I think I mention
-
it again later on. But we can't see God's face
-
and live. But Jesus. Jesus came to us so that
-
we could be in commune with God himself. Right, So
-
he came, He sacrificed his life for us. He's my savior,
-
and he did that so that we can go to
-
the Father. Let's look at Mark chapter sixteen, verse seventeen
-
to eighteen. And these signs will follow those who believe
-
in my name. They will cast out demons, they will
-
speak with new tongues. They will take up serpents, and
-
if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means
-
hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick, and
-
they will recover. How those who believe and in whose name, Jesus.
-
In Jesus' name, we have authority. That's another unique thing
-
about Jesus. In his name, we have authority to do
-
all these things, right, to cast out demons. How many
-
of you believe you can cast out demons in Jesus' name? Yeah?
-
See some kids putting out their hands. You can lay
-
hands on the sick and they will be heal. Amen. Amen.
-
And when I think of Jesus, he's basically the perfect
-
example of how to live my life. Right. Anytime we
-
think about how do I make this decision, what should
-
I do? How should I treat this person? What should
-
I think? Just think of Jesus. Just read back the
-
four Gospels. Read true. How did Jesus handle anything, any situation,
-
any challenge or the persecution, all the hurts, How he
-
loves people. Just look at jesus life, and we know
-
how we are supposed to live on earth. Okay, I
-
hope you're catching something or just even like, yeah, reflecting
-
and thinking about who is God the Father to me?
-
Who is Jesus to me? Now, let's look at the
-
Holy Spirit, the least sometimes remembered thought of Yeah, let's
-
look at Luke verse one. He Sorry chapter one, verse
-
thirty five. It says, and the Angel answered and said
-
to her, the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and
-
the power of the Highest will overshadow you. Therefore, also
-
the Holy One who is to be born will be
-
called the Son of God, who caused the conception of Jesus,
-
the Holy Spirit. Okay, the Holy Spirit caused the conception
-
of Jesus within Mary. Again a unique thing that only
-
the Holy Spirit did. And we see in Matthew chapter three,
-
verse sixteen. Right, the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus when
-
he had been baptized. Jesus came up immediately from the water,
-
and behold, the heavens were open to hi him, and
-
he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove
-
and a lighting upon him. Gain something very clear, That
-
Holy Spirit he descended upon Jesus. And that's when John knew, right,
-
this is the son of God, because God the Father
-
told him. God Father did tell him. Whoever you see
-
the Holy Spirit descend on like a dearth, that is
-
the Son of God. What else, Let's move into X. Okay,
-
In of X, you'll be reading lots and lots of
-
the Holy Spirit. Let's see chapter thirteen verse verse two
-
and four. As they ministered to the Lord and faster,
-
the Holy Spirit said, now separate to me Bannabas and
-
Saul for the work of which I have called them.
-
So you see the Holy Spirit speaks. Yeah, he speaks.
-
And then in verse four, so being sent out by
-
the Holy Spirit, they went down to Solutionah and from
-
there they sailed to Cyprus. So the Holy speaks, and
-
he also sends. He sends us in all missionaries and
-
all that He's the one sending. It's not men. And
-
then we see the Holy Spirit in accept the four
-
Ust thirty one, nexts next verse, next slide. The Holy
-
Spirit fills if you're taking out notes, Oh is it not?
-
That?
-
Is there? Holy Spirit fills X Chapter four Ust thirty one,
-
four Wars thirty one. And when they had prayed, the
-
place where they were assembled together was shaken, and they
-
were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke
-
the Word of God with boldness. So we know the
-
Holy Spirit fills us and gives us boldness. Amen. Oh,
-
maybe I mixed up the slice. Sorry. Activ X Chapter sixteen,
-
verse six to ten. The Holy Spirit forbids and he
-
also calls okay, we'll read this. I didn't put it
-
there because it's quite it's a bit long. So he
-
turned with me to X Chapter sixteen Versus six to
-
ten the Macedonian Call. Now, when they had gone.
-
Through Frigia, Frigia, Frigia, and the region of Galicia, they
-
were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the Word
-
in Asia.
-
Holy Spirit stop was from preaching somewhere. Well, he knows,
-
he knows what's best, right, But he did forbid the
-
apostles at that time to preach the Word in Asia.
-
After they had come to Misia, not Malaysia, they tried
-
to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them. Again,
-
the Holy Spirit forbid verse eight. So, passing by Misia Malaysia,
-
they came down to troy Us and a vision appeared
-
to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood
-
and pleaded with him, saying, come over to Macedonia and
-
help us. Verse ten. Now after he had seen the vision,
-
immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the
-
Lord had called us to preach the Gospel to them. Wow,
-
so the Holy Spirit can forbid us to do things.
-
He also cause us to where we need to go
-
and where we need to be. Amen. Yeah, sorry, I
-
know in the slights. Now is the fields, and okay,
-
you can pick it down. Next, the Holy Spirit teachers
-
John fourteen, verse twenty six. But the helper, the Holy Spirit,
-
whom the Father will send in my name, he will
-
teach you'll all things and bring to your remembrance all
-
things that I said to you. I hope you all
-
are hungry to learn, hungry to learn from God from
-
his word. Sometimes we always say, right, so hard, how
-
so hard to read? Don't understand what I'm reading? Ask
-
the Holy Spirit, Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you,
-
and he will bring that enlightenment, you know. Amen. Next
-
one extra to twenty vers twenty eight. So much and
-
there's so much I want to covering a little bit
-
of each person of the Trinity. Actually twenty verse twenty eight.
-
The Holy Spirit chooses or a points, so we see here. Therefore,
-
take heed to yourselves and to all the flock among
-
which the Holy Spirit has made you overseas to shepherd
-
the Church of God, which he purchased with his own blood. Leaders.
-
You weren't chosen or appointed by men or by the
-
pastors or by the elders. You were chosen, You were
-
hand picked. You appointed by the Holy Spirit. Y'all believe that. Yeah,
-
some as you wonder, how did I become a leader?
-
Did someone make a mistake? No, the Holy Spirit chose you.
-
The Holy Spirit appointed you because he moved. He would
-
have spoken to you know, the leaders who appointed you.
-
But it is the Holy Spirit. Because God loves his church,
-
he says, right, the Church of God he purchased with
-
his own blood. Why would he simply get anyone to
-
lead his church. No, every one of you who are called,
-
who are appointed, who are commissioned as leaders, it is
-
a high calling. The Holy Spirit has called you to
-
serve and love his Church. Amen. Amen. Did you also
-
know that the Holy Spirit can be grieved? Ephicients, Chapter four,
-
verse thirty, Do we have that or something? Yeah? And
-
don't grieve the Holy Spirit of God by whom you
-
were sealed for the day of redemption. Very specific again, No,
-
it says, do not grieve the Holy Spirit. And this
-
is also a proof and reason that the Holy Spirit
-
is a person. Right, I think you've heard in the
-
past weeks. You know it's not our sayings. He's not
-
just a power, he's a power. They have no feelings,
-
but people or persons. A person, a being has feelings,
-
has emotions. And Holy Spirit can be hurt, can be saddened,
-
can be grieved by us. And I pray that we won't.
-
We will never grieve the Holy Spirit. Amen. Next night,
-
you know, write some things, some points there I just
-
took down. When I think about the Holy Spirit, he's
-
my counselor he's my helper, he's my comforter. He gives
-
me power and authority. He tells me what to say.
-
You know, I shared so last last week? Was it
-
last week? Just last week our missions conference. One of
-
the workshops was the Disciple Disciples on in every school,
-
every street, and so I was sharing our stories, you know,
-
we on campus, so i'd work and there's so many
-
times where it's the Holy Spirit that natch us and
-
tell us pray for this person or speak to this person.
-
How what do I say? And it's the Holy Spirit
-
that tells us what to say. I mean maybe at
-
the time we don't know, but when we start speaking,
-
you know, he speaks to us. He gives me bonus
-
and courage. I tell you, I told the story I
-
told in this church, and I shared again there the
-
few times, and the Holy Spirit asked me to either
-
pray with my colleagues for my colleagues, and then in
-
London again amongst all the senior leadership. You know, pray
-
We don't. We don't have the bonus on our own.
-
It's really oh your guts, you just fully together, but
-
the Holy Spirit just gives you that extra push, that
-
bonus and encourage to do so. So I pray no,
-
as we reflect on who the Trinity is, the uniqueness,
-
I pray we will go back and reflect on our
-
relationship with this triune God. It's not complete if you
-
only know one of them one part of who God is.
-
So my challenge is do we know each person in
-
the Trinity? Okay? If not, let's desire to this year,
-
let's desire too. Now there we look at the Trinity
-
as three unique persons, it's actually even more important for
-
us to look at them as one whole. Like getting
-
your confused. Talk about three persons, now talk look at
-
them as one whole. Because right, God's oneness is not sameness,
-
and so he's so he's unique. The three persons are unique,
-
but it is unity. So how you take down those
-
two things, and the two use unique yet united. His
-
oneness is unity, not sameness. Let's look at John chapter seventeen,
-
verse twenty one and John chapter ten, verse thirteen. She
-
read both of them. John ten thirty says, I and
-
my Father are one. John seventeen, verse twenty one says
-
that they all may be one. Who's they all? They
-
all may be one? Earth just talking about the Church us,
-
that we may be one, as you Father are in
-
me and I in you, that they also may be
-
one in us. That the world may believe that you
-
send me. We read this earlier as well, right, But
-
here's very clear. The Father is in the Son, the
-
Son is in the Father, and he wants us to
-
be in Christ. Just as God is one. The Father
-
and Son are one. He wants he's calling the church
-
also to be one. Now, let's look at how the
-
Trinity always work. If you read, I'm noticing even more
-
now when I study the world and I read through
-
the Book of Acts, you see the Trinity working together
-
all the time. I used to not really pick that out,
-
but now when I read it, I see, Oh, he's
-
always working on Godfather, and then the Sun and the
-
Holy Spirit. They're always working in unity. So let's look
-
at a few a few points in time. Let's look
-
at the beginning. Just the kids answer, right, Jesus was
-
there at the beginning, and the Holy Spirit was also
-
there from the beginning. Okay. Let's read that in the beginning,
-
God created the heavens and the earth, okay, which means
-
the whole universe. Don't just think earth only, Okay, the
-
whole universe. The earth was without form and void and
-
darkness was on the face of the deep. And who
-
was hovering the Spirit of God. That's the Holy Spirit.
-
He was hovering over the face of the waters. That's
-
proof that the Holy Spirit was there from the very
-
beginning when God created the universe. In the Malay translation
-
the Holy Spirit, they usually I think different translations, but
-
they will say rah Allah, God's Spirit. And if we
-
read further down to verse twenty six, yeah, then God said,
-
let us make man in our image according to our likeness.
-
Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea,
-
over the birds of the air, and over the kettle,
-
and over the earth, and over every creeping thing that
-
creeps on the earth. Who's God talking to us Earth?
-
Among themselves three persons. Let us make man in our image,
-
three persons united, always working together in unity, as make
-
men like us and have dominion over the whole earth. Wow,
-
let's look now at Colloss. Are you saying, okay, we
-
saw the Spirit hold ring. God the Father was there, Jesus.
-
Let's look at Colloss now, Chapter one, verse fifteen to seventeen.
-
O care, I put it all there. He is the
-
image of the invisible God, the firstborn overall creation. For
-
by him all things were created. By Jesus, all things
-
were created that are in heaven, that are on earth,
-
visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions, or principalities or powers,
-
all things were created through him, Jesus, and for him,
-
Jesus the Son, and he is before all things, and
-
in him all things consists. By Christ, Jesus, all things
-
were created. So you see it, the creation of the
-
world of the universe. God the Father was there, The
-
Holy Spirit was there, Jesus was there. They are one.
-
They were working together, just like I mentioned earlier. I
-
mentioned right, men had never seen God. That's what you've
-
seen the verse. He's the image of the invisible God, God,
-
the Father. No one has ever seen him. You've read
-
the whole read the whole Bible. The closest was probably
-
who remembers. There's only one person that probably the closest
-
to seeing God, which profered Moses. Moses in extra study three.
-
You can take that down, go back and read it.
-
Exodus Study three. God had to hide Moses in a
-
cleft of a rock because Moses say, show me a glory, right,
-
hide him in a rock, covered him, covered Moses as
-
he walked past, and then told Moses, now you can look,
-
but you only see my back. Going read it for yourself,
-
took his hand away. Moses saw his back because if
-
he had seen the face of God, he wouldn't have lived.
-
You would have died immediately. And tried the whole Bible.
-
No one has ever seen God's face. He's invisible God.
-
But Jesus, the Son of God, came to earth so
-
that we can somehow look at God. Right, came in
-
the flesh. Amen, a man could see him, could touch him,
-
one of us. Before I move on from the beginning,
-
I love this John. I like John how he starts
-
his book. So John chapter one, verse one to five.
-
In the beginning was the word, and the word was
-
with God, and the Word was God. He was in
-
the beginning with God. All things were made through him,
-
and without him, nothing was made. That was made. In
-
him was life, and the life was the light of men.
-
And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness
-
did not comprehend it. Who's this the word? John is
-
talking about Jesus the Sun. He is the Word, He
-
was with God, he is God. Amen. Okay, so you
-
see that here as well. Can move to verse fourteen.
-
I think I put it there as well. Still, John,
-
chapter one, If you read down to verse fourteen, is
-
it there? If not, I read it all I know
-
you have to write a lot of stuff to watch. No,
-
go back and read all this again. Your homework for
-
this week, John, chapter one, verse fourteen. Every day read
-
a few can with your parents. Okay. And the world
-
became flesh and dwelt among us. Okay. There's only one
-
person that became flesh and dought among us is Jesus.
-
He's the Word. The Word became flesh and delt among us,
-
and we beheld his glory. The glory is of the
-
only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Amen.
-
The Word became flesh, he's Jesus. Okay, so we've see
-
in the beginning all three of them working in unity.
-
Let's look about. Look at when Jesus was on earth. Okay,
-
it wasn't just Jesus Jesus the whole time we through
-
the gospels. Let's look at that together again. Even when
-
Jesus was walking on earth, the Trinity was working in unity,
-
interacting with one another. Let's look at during his baptism.
-
When he had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from
-
the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him,
-
and he saw the Spirit of God. So the Holy
-
Spirit descended, descending like a dearth and alighting upon him.
-
And suddenly a voice from heaven came from heaven saying,
-
this is my beloved son, who is speaking the Father. Yeah, God,
-
the Father, this is my beloved son in whom I'm well.
-
Please again at the baptist Jesus. You see all three.
-
The Holy Spirit came down, the Father spoke. Jesus was
-
there being baptized. Let's look at John chapter one, verse
-
thirty two to the three right. I think I mentioned
-
it just now, and John witness saying I saw the
-
spirit descending from heaven like a derth, and he remained
-
upon him. I did not know him, but he who
-
sent me to baptized with water. So God the Father
-
sent John the Baptist to baptize with water, and said
-
to me upon whom you see the spirit descending and
-
remaining on him? This is he who baptized us with
-
the Holy Spirit. Amen. And you heard last week Eloping
-
who said baptists on the Holy Spirit. Who Jesus is
-
gonna baptize us with the Holy Spirit? Amen? Okay, I
-
think I have to move quicker? What time is it?
-
What I'm doing? End? No, we're not done yet. Sty
-
got some juicy stuff. Okay, let's look at after Jesus
-
said Riason from the Dead John, chapter twenty, verse twenty
-
one to twenty two. Your paper, nos, space? Really is it?
-
Have to write behind? Okay? So Jesus said to them again,
-
peace to you, as the Father has sent me, I
-
also send you. And when he had said this, he
-
breathed on them and said to them received the Holy Spirit.
-
Can you see Jesus speaking to them right that the
-
Father had sent him? So Father sent Jesus. Then Jesus says,
-
I send you, so, Father said Jesus. Jesus sends us,
-
and he breathed the Holy Spirit onto the apostles, and
-
Jesus breathed the Holy Spirit onto us. Wow, you see
-
all three of them always working together. Matthew twenty eight.
-
It was eighteen twenty. Y'all know the great commission, right,
-
and I just zoom in on. He says, baptize them
-
in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit,
-
all three, not just one, but all three men. Okay.
-
Second Corinthians thirteen, verse fourteen. We declare this upon you
-
every almost every Sunday, the benediction, the grace of the
-
Lord Christ and the love of God the Father, and
-
the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
-
There's a benediction. It basically is a divine blessing that
-
we declare upon you every week as we leave church.
-
We declare that upon you, and it involves the whole Trinity. Okay,
-
don't just be satisfied with knowing one is God as
-
a whole story. I'm drawing to a close, Okay, by
-
sharing some so we really learn God is The Trinity
-
is His unique. Three persons are unique, yet they're always
-
working in unity. But looking at that right, there are
-
some key learnings for us as a church and as humanity.
-
The first one community, the church is created in the
-
image of the tryan God, I mean man. We are
-
created in God's image. There is commune, there is how
-
many Our God is always it has always been in community,
-
you see, right from the beginning, right, He's always been
-
in community. So we also should. If you really believe
-
we're created in His image, then we should also be
-
that way in community. So those of you who think
-
it's okay to just be you and God, right, you
-
will meet some people. It's okay. I don't need church.
-
I don't need I don't need to know other believers.
-
Just between me and God. That's it enough. I'm telling
-
you that's not God. That is not God's design because
-
He himself is a community. You know, we have church,
-
we have homes. How is happening this week? Don't miss out?
-
We have hangouts? Pick up all hanging hangouts happening happening now?
-
Edmond John and Edminson Ye and those of us who
-
have immersed ourselves in these communities have found our lives
-
so much more fulfilling. Don't you think Yeah, our faith
-
is not to be lived alone stivally. He can bring
-
up the next light next. Okay, there's the first one
-
that I put down. Our God is always has always
-
no first point, has always been in community, so we
-
also should be just three points. Okay, As closing second point,
-
like I said, God's very own nature is relational. The Father,
-
the Son, the Holy Spirit, they are relational and us men, women,
-
humans being created in His image. We can only discover
-
our true identities and our purpose while in relationship with others.
-
Did you ever think of that? If you're by yourself
-
right your whole life and don't interact anybody, what is
-
your identity? What is your purpose? Today the world we
-
see a lot of individualism, right, it's all about me,
-
my time, who I am. I mean, don't care what
-
other people think or see or But if you look
-
throughout the Bible, right you read the early books Exodus, Genesis, Exodus,
-
Deuteronomy numbers a lot of genealogy right or before sleep
-
right reading the genealogy. No likes reading the son of
-
son of son of son or son of son of
-
Why is it so important? I mean, why do you
-
think the Bible writer as a whole chapter of son
-
of son or son of most of us just keep it.
-
I know, I skeep it because I'm like, oh, I
-
can even read half halfway through, you know. But it's
-
so important because your individual PERSONHO is actually defined by
-
your relationship with others, with your family, with your tribe
-
a tribe hereast Malasia, without tribes where you came from.
-
And that's why shame and honor actually affects more than
-
just ourself. Right, if you do something that is shameful,
-
it's not just us affected on your whole family. And
-
if you and if you're honored, your whole family is honored.
-
Your church, right, always say, don't those simplistic you know,
-
the bumpustickers church bumpustick in your car and then showing
-
fingers driving like a mad person. Why because you represent
-
your church? You know we are we are representation of
-
ex church maybe God missions. You always tell the teams
-
be aware, not just when you're ministrying, you know, when
-
you're out eating, when you're staying with your hosts. All
-
that people see you. You are the identity of the church.
-
WHI and if we do something that leaves the negative impact,
-
the church gives a bad name. They won't remember you,
-
remember the church that sends you. Yeah, So it is
-
the people, it's the groups. It's the culture that surrounds
-
us that often makes us who we are, how we think,
-
how we function in the world. So it's so beautiful
-
we have this community. We shape one another, we wrap
-
one another the wrong way. So, but it's okay, we're learning.
-
We learn from each other. Iron charpens, iron immn. Okay,
-
you've seen one. To The third point to bring a
-
cross is as God the Father is one with his son,
-
yet he's not the son. You saw that right, He's unique.
-
God the Father is one with the Son, but he's
-
not the son. We too are made to be united
-
with others and yet be unique. We are still unique
-
from each other. Remember that one is not sameness. So
-
when we come together we talk about the church be united,
-
doesn't mean like we all dress the same and we
-
all talk the same, and our thoughts are the same
-
and our gifts are the same. No, we are still
-
unique from one another. But unity. Jesus prayed that the
-
Church should be united, and we look at the body
-
of Christ. Right in First Corinthians, Chapter twelve, verse twelve
-
to fourteen, yeah, the bank can come up. Do I
-
have that verse there? If not? First Corinthians, Chapter twelve,
-
verse twelve to fourteen. Let's just read about the Body
-
of Christ twelve to fourteen. It says for us, the
-
body is one and has many members, but all the
-
members of that one body being many our one body.
-
So also is Christ. For by one spirit we were
-
all baptized into one body, where the Jews or Greeks,
-
where the slaves are free, and have all been made
-
to drink into one spirit. For in fact, the body
-
is not one member but many. We are many. Right
-
we are. We are not the same. It's our diversity
-
and our different gift things and strengths that make us
-
beautiful together in the first place. Right, because we are
-
not the same, we need one another as well, and
-
we are better together. Go and look at your neighbor
-
and say we are better together. Say I need you,
-
Tell your other name, I need you, and tell other
-
name you need me to. The Bible makes it clear
-
that all of us have been given gifts of the
-
Holy Spirit. All of us have been giving gifts by
-
the Holy Spirit, and the only expression of them is
-
in the context of community. Right, if you're to give
-
the Holy Spirit, but no one to express it to
-
what's it for? So it's so important, and it's always
-
for the good of others, whether within the church or
-
outside the four walls. So in your schools, in your workplace,
-
with your families, the gifts of the Holy Spirit are
-
for for their good right, not just us. And you know,
-
in the days to come, we will hear more about
-
the five four ministry, about the gifts of the Holy Spirit,
-
because as the Church, we really want to we want
-
to desire more of the Holy Spirit. We want to
-
move in the gift things that God has given us.
-
But on the end, with this, even before we desire
-
the gifts, let's first desire the giver of the gifts.
-
Hey man, Let's desire the giver of the gifts. I
-
think Elope who read this last week as well from
-
Luke chapter eleven, verse thirteen. It's the last verse I
-
leave with you Luke eleven, verse thirteen. If you, then,
-
being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,
-
how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy
-
Spirit to those who ask him. And I don't want
-
us to rush the ending today, You'll need one service,
-
So we have a little bit of lee way and
-
this morning I want to open the altar. Yeah, okay,
-
with that, I want to open the altar for those
-
who have not yet received the Holy Spirit. You believe
-
in Jesus, if you invited Jesus to be your Lord,
-
your savior, you've invited him into your heart, but you
-
have not received the Holy Spirit. And the Pinghr spoke
-
about it as well. You know the apostles in that day,
-
they weren't satisfied until the believers received the Holy Spirit.
-
Not enough just to believe in Jesus, but let's receive
-
the infeeling of the Holy Spirit, the baptism of the
-
Holy Spirit. And if you're here and you're not sure,
-
maybe I did at some camp. I'm not sure that
-
it's for you as well. Okay, because those of us
-
who are really bad places, we are sure. We know it.
-
We know it. When we have the infeeling of the Spirit,
-
we know it. We are operating under his power. And
-
it just says ask him. He wants to, He wants
-
to pour out his spirit on us. Someone leaders to
-
be ready to lay hands and pray for people this morning.
-
Maybe we can worship Jason. It leaders to just invite
-
the Holy Spirit, and I want you to really think
-
about it. Reflect If you want to experience the fullness
-
and the wholeness of our God, then it's not just
-
knowing that the Father loves you. It's not just knowing
-
that Jesus came and sacrificed his life and died for you.
-
And you've now you believe in him and you have salvation.
-
But you also want to know the Holy Spirit. Let
-
him feel you, baptize you and you can operate in
-
the fullness and live really the abundant life that He promises.
-
So as we worship, if that's you, I want you
-
to just make your way to the front.
-
We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more

this week is going to be a good week ahead

for you. God bless
