-
You're listening to a message to go from acts church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
Jesus has a need and it's We're going to be
-
reading from John chapter one, pretty much the first half
-
of the chapter, maybe even close to the whole chapter.
-
But don't worry about that. We'll do it one step
-
at a time, you know, yes, one step at a time.
-
So this morning, you know, God is good and God
-
knows how to confirm his word. All right, So I
-
prayed and I told the Lord Lord, can you wake
-
me up to the prey? So I got up around
-
four o'clock and then I said to the Lord Lord,
-
I'm a little bit tired. I want to sleep a
-
little bit more. Can you wake me up at five
-
Jesus' name? Thank you? So I knocked up to sleep,
-
and then I opened my eyes and I looked at
-
my time. Five point zero zero. Isn't that good? And
-
really it's about what I want to share with you today.
-
It just gave me encouragement that the Lord knows, AHD.
-
Let's turn to the word John chapter four, reading from
-
verse one. Therefore, when the Lord knew that the Pharisees
-
had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
-
though Jesus himself did not baptize but his disciples. He
-
left you there and departed again to Galilee. I must
-
tell you that probably this scripture that I'm going to
-
be doing today is something you might already know, and
-
most likely it's going to be a reminder. But that's okay,
-
because God is big on remind us. You know, he
-
keeps saying, remember, remember, remember, So God knows something, let's
-
run with it, all right. So here we find that
-
Jesus was listening to things being said. Oh he's hearing ah,
-
you know, this guy is baptizing and actually Jesus, you know,
-
they made it very clear Jesus didn't do the baptizing. Okay,
-
But this thing that was going around, this rumor that
-
was going around, this conversation that was going around, was
-
that Jesus was doing it. How many of us, when
-
we are in our daily lives, have people talking about us? Right,
-
You're just doing your business. You're going about doing your work,
-
and you hear some chatter. No, not all chatter is bad, Okay,
-
Sometimes you hear good things. And isn't it true that
-
when you hear good things, you want to linger. Keep
-
it coming. You don't want to move, You just to
-
sock in all the good things that are being said
-
about you, right, do not. And then when the conversation
-
is not so good, you also don't want to run away.
-
You want to linger this guy saying this, just wait,
-
my turn will come. And conversations like this tend to
-
stop you. But not Jesus. You see, conversations that were
-
going on was just noise, white noise. Because the scripture
-
tells me he left. Jesus was not interested in the chatter.
-
He was not interested in the background noise. He was
-
interested in something much more. So we got to understand. Then,
-
we got to get in touch with what is Jesus
-
looking for that's going to get him to take notice.
-
Because chick chat, it's not it. Chick chat, I'm not
-
I'm not telling you not to check chat. Okay, by
-
all means converse with one another, by all means, you know,
-
spend time with one another. But Jesus had something more important,
-
all right, Because where Jesus was concerned, a man's got
-
to do what a man's got to do. He was focused.
-
Nothing stopped him from accomplishing what he wanted to do.
-
Let's go on to the next verse. Next verse, okay,
-
but he needed to go through some area Jesus needed. Wow,
-
the Lord of Lords in the King of Kings needed something.
-
He needed. The Bible didn't say he wanted to go through.
-
The Bible didn't say he thought about going through. The
-
Bible didn't say he sauntered along. The Bible made it
-
very clear Jesus needed Jesus needed. Ah. This happened maybe
-
a few days ago, and myself we went for dinner.
-
Dinner is a Rabbato saying appum, okay, that's my go
-
to dinner when I go outside, because I like the chatneyer. Okay. Anyway,
-
so we went for dinner and then after dinner, Ale say,
-
we need to go to ninety nine yearby I need
-
to get something. Okay. We went to ninety nine. When
-
we came and when we were about to pay, there
-
was this There were these poor There was this poor
-
lady and I think it was her mother. Poor lady
-
and her mother poor all right, and they bought. They
-
brought a bag of rice to the counter to pay,
-
and the person at the counter said, I'm sorry you
-
cannot buy this rice. It's only for Malaysians. Have you
-
ever heard of that? Have anyone of you ever heard
-
of that? You'll have experienced this. It's the first time
-
held a mable in myself. We were we were shocked,
-
you know, and a heart immediately felt something. But do
-
you know that when you feel something, your heart feel something,
-
sometimes you don't do the right thing. This is one
-
of those cases, right, So we did not feel good.
-
And when we pay for our stuff, we came out
-
and Elder mabeled myself look at one another and said,
-
that is so odd. I mean, they just want a
-
bag of rice to feed their family. So I said,
-
just give her the money, because they're supposed to buy
-
the more expensive rice, you know that. So we the
-
Mables went in. We gave money to her and say,
-
never mind, buy the rice that that you know they
-
allow you to buy. So we gave her money and
-
then we came out. We got in the car and
-
we drove off, but our hearts were not set up.
-
Elder Mabel and myself we just will been discussing, is
-
this is this is so odd? We so as we
-
drove off, we said, why didn't we just buy her
-
the bag of rice. That was the right thing to do.
-
We missed it, man, we missed it. So as we
-
came out of the Taman and we went back on
-
the main road and we were discussing it, and the
-
both of us just said, our hearts are not right
-
with this. Let's go back. So we went back and
-
you know that that whole turn must have taken maybe
-
three minutes. Four minutes. We came back to the shop
-
and we could not find her. For some reason. All
-
the the people who are making the you know, from
-
the from the restaurant came up. What is that problem?
-
Because they see her come a car coming back and
-
we're looking, and we explained to them there's this poor
-
piece people. They didn't have rice. You know. We took
-
the car and we went to every shop in that
-
vicinity and we couldn't find the people. We couldn't find
-
that lady and her mother, and we were feeling so upset.
-
But you see, we went back because it is something
-
we needed to do. We needed to have. Well. Hopefully
-
that that money that we gave, you know, allowed them
-
to buy rice for the family. But sometimes you're just
-
you know, you don't at the moment your mind doesn't
-
work so well. I mean, we should have bought the
-
rise and just given it to them. Learning moment. That
-
is a learning moment. I can tell you, Elder Mable
-
and myself will not get caught like that again. And
-
the next time we encounter something like that, you know
-
what we'll do. We'll buy them the rice. I mean,
-
in Malaysia people are not allowed to buy food. I
-
couldn't believe it. God, Jesus needed to do something. It
-
was heavy on his hand. He just wanted to get
-
something done. So he came to the city of Samaria,
-
which is called Seicha, near the plot of ground that
-
Jacob gave to his son. Now Jacob's wealth was there,
-
and Jesus, therefore, being wearied from his journey, set us
-
by the well. It was about the sixth hour. Jesus
-
never makes a mistake. Everything that he does is intentional
-
where you and I are concerned, and let me tell you,
-
what he was about to do was so intentional, so exciting.
-
How can your lives be the same. Man, when you
-
understand what Jesus wanted to do for this person he
-
was about to me, it's the same thing he wants
-
to do for us. Now, a woman came to draw water,
-
so Jesus said to her, give me a drink, for
-
his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
-
You know that Jesus is the master conversational starter. If
-
you think that he really wanted a drink, study the
-
whole scripture. He never tells that he drank anything from
-
the well. So was he interested in the water? No,
-
what was he interested in doing? He was interested in
-
creating a conversation with a person that he needed to meet.
-
Jesus needed to meet this person. How many times has
-
Jesus needed to meet us and we said forget about it?
-
I thank God. You know when I woke up and
-
for something I didn't tell the Lord. I'm so tired,
-
I just want to sleep. I realized that Jesus needed
-
to have a conversation with me this morning. So five o'clock,
-
according to my asking him, he woke me up, not
-
five oh one, not four oh fi nine five point
-
zero zero. You know everything that I tell you, it
-
really doesn't matter whether anybody believes me or not, because
-
I'm I'm not interested in whether somebody believes what I say.
-
You know what I'm interested in. God knows, So when
-
I tell you these things. I'm not telling you these
-
things because I want you to think I'm somebody great.
-
No far from it. I want you to tell a
-
rotten person like me can see God work in his life,
-
he can work in your life. And trust me, I'm
-
not saying you're are rotten. So we can work in
-
my life. He's ready to work in yours. Jesus did
-
not come to save good people. He came to save
-
those that were not good. And in case you're thinking, whoa,
-
there's such a bad thing to say, not really, because
-
the Bible say that that everybody was bad. There's no good, no,
-
not one. So everybody qualified for Jesus coming, you see.
-
So the thing is this, give me a drink for
-
his disciples had gone away to buy food. Do you
-
know that Jesus does want to have a conversation with
-
you and me and we say we're too busy. When
-
Jesus has a conversation with us, your lives will change.
-
Do you know that it's him who starts the conversation first?
-
You know? Do you know that? You know how you
-
know he started the conversation first. For God to love
-
the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that
-
whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
-
Remember the testimony about badminton and how that person got
-
saved because I said, do you like badminton? He said yes.
-
I said, well, Jesus already said the shuttle to you
-
when he died on the cross. He's waiting for you
-
to return it. But otherwise he can't play the game. Guys,
-
Jesus has already given his life for you, and you
-
don't want to speak to him. You don't have to
-
be all like me to speak to him. Okay, you
-
can be young like you because Jesus likes to have
-
You know how Jesus starts a conversation, do you do
-
you think he comes to you and he says life
-
is what you make it. No, he comes in and
-
asks you can I have a drink? Or when Jesus
-
starts a conversation you like footballer? Yeah? I also like football.
-
You know? Do you know why I invented the ball?
-
Because if I didn't have invent the ball, you won't
-
be playing football. Who invented the ball? Jesus? Thank god
-
Jesus invented the ball, otherwise cannot play tennis. Do you
-
know that almost half of the games that you and
-
I play on this earth today is because of the
-
event on the ball. So when Jesus comes and he
-
has a conversation with you, you like football, he knows
-
what he's talking about. Did you think of that? So
-
Jesus will start a conversation with you that you can
-
connect with. You know how Jesus started a conversation with me,
-
You see, because for many years I was fighting against him.
-
For many years, I was saying, no, I'm already a Christian,
-
I said. I was already a Christian. I was from
-
a nominal background, but I had never personally accepted Jesus
-
Christ's personal Lord and Savior. So when I went to
-
this church in the jungle, and literally it was a
-
you know, really small church, and the Lord came, the
-
presence came, and I heard his voice. And you know
-
how Jesus starts the conversation. He hits the thing that
-
I was already looking out for. I mean, it's interested
-
in it, he says. And this is how literally, this
-
is how it was. Terence, you're not a Christian? Why
-
didn't you accept me? Now I heard that, That's what
-
he said, to me. It wasn't in my heart. I
-
heard it in my ear. And you know what I did.
-
I just accepted the Lord quietly without anybody knowing. Yes, Lord,
-
I accept you use the person Lord and Savien conversation.
-
I don't know what conversation he is going to start
-
with you. You know you can talk to him about
-
the art that you do. Come on, you design stuff.
-
You can talk to him Lord, how but giving me
-
a designer that no one has ever thought of before
-
in this world? You mean to say he can't because
-
if man can decide it, he's got other things. This
-
guy Kentucky Fried Chicken, Connel Saunders Sanders. You know at
-
what age he sold his he made his name. He
-
was in his midd or late sixties, and Kentucky Fried
-
Chicken took off and he became a multi millionaire. I mean,
-
all these years he was frying chicken. But when he
-
went to the Lord, and the Lord gave it to him.
-
So he ended up giving ninety percent of all that
-
he earned to the Lord, and he only kept ten
-
percent for himself. How do you like that? Good study
-
his testimony? Guys, So your desire is to be what
-
what's your desire. You want to study hard, you want
-
to be successful. He God can help you. You know,
-
had that conversation with him, talk over with him. You
-
know I wasn't all that great a student. Well, I
-
was okay when I went to Singapore to study. That's
-
when I had to have That's when I had conversations
-
with the Lord about my studies. It took off me.
-
I was good in my studies. Everything came so easy.
-
Was it my intelligence? No? I knew whom I believed
-
and who was able to help that which I've committed
-
unto him. It was Jesus' conversations. Right then, the woman
-
of Samaria said to him, how is it that you,
-
being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman,
-
For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. You see, I
-
love this about Jesus. Jesus didn't care about norms. He
-
didn't care what people thought. He didn't care if others
-
believed it was right or wrong. Jesus did what was
-
necessary to help. You know, we think, ah, we shouldn't
-
touch I mean, should I have thought this lady is
-
an Indonesian? Why should I help her? I mean, why
-
should I help her? By Rice. She is not even
-
a militian. I mean that lady said, don't sell, don't buy,
-
don't we cannot tell you. But did I care? No,
-
because there was a person that needed food, how slower.
-
But he didn't care that this person knew me or
-
didn't know me. It didn't matter to me whether she
-
was Indonesian, she was from Sri Lanka or from wherever.
-
I didn't care. All I knew was this person needed help. Jesus.
-
Can you imagine he made the time he needed to
-
be with someone whom he's people rejected, and here he
-
is wanting to spend time with you. I feel I'm
-
a reject. I do. I always tell Elder maioble H,
-
I'm probably one of the most dislike persons around. Why
-
you're feeling sorry for your eyes? You? No say. Everybody
-
I've ever had a conversation with always says I didn't
-
like you. It's true. It's true my own friends in school. Hey,
-
when you first walked in, I didn't like you. I say, why,
-
I didn't do anything to you. I smile, I said hello, No,
-
it's just like you carried yourself like you knew everything,
-
And I thought this was unusual okay, because this was
-
now in Singapore, but in Malaysia was exactly the same thing.
-
I'm playing tennis in my friends. One of them just come.
-
You know what, Terrence, when you first came, I just
-
didn't like you. Why what did I do? Nothing? It's
-
just that I didn't like your face. It's okay if
-
people don't like us, But there is someone who wants
-
to have that conversation with us. It's Jesus. See, the
-
world may reject you, your friends may well, friends reject Well,
-
that's why my friends told me Laha, okay, well, friends
-
may reject you, but Jesus will always love you. So
-
when you are feeling I'm so bad, I can't go
-
to you Lord with this problem. It's okay. That's exactly
-
the reason he came. Because everybody else didn't understand. He understands.
-
So this woman, now Cossell, was beginning to ask how come?
-
And this is when I asked the Lord all the time,
-
you know, why would you help me? Like I said,
-
five one kilometer is spent thanking God for what he
-
does in my life when I do my morning walks,
-
so I always tell him why would you come after me?
-
And say Lord, you know, all my friends don't like me.
-
At first, then I say, even my family members I
-
think don't like me. What's the problem. Then the Lord said,
-
it's okay. I still came for you. I still love you,
-
the one who fought with his brothers and sisters the most.
-
You know, I'm at the center of every fight. Why
-
I don't know? You know, I tell you a story.
-
So the other day I was driving Kleg you know, Tamagibiau.
-
You know. So I was driving Tiber. So I just
-
told elder Maeole, you see this house. This house is
-
the house my friend's father's house. He was a doctor.
-
He's the one who had to open his cleaning at
-
eight something or nine something in the night to fix
-
my head. Why so, because I was playing table tennis
-
on the dining table with my elder brother and when
-
I say I don't want to play anymore, he took
-
the bat and he threw it me, hit my head
-
and cut my eyes, bleeding like like man. So my
-
mate had to carry me like that the white tower,
-
now full of blood to this doctor's house. This doctor
-
put me in his car, drove me to his cleaning,
-
open up the clings, teached me up close. The cling
-
drove me back. You see what I mean playing table tennis.
-
Also the fellow wants to hit me. What's wrong? Family members?
-
Are my brother? Elder brother? There you go. So now
-
Jesus answered and said to her, And this is how
-
Jesus answers us. If you knew the gift of God,
-
and who is it who says to you give me
-
a drink, you would ask him and he would give
-
you a living water. He would give you a living water.
-
You know. Now Jesus is beginning to go deeper. So
-
he started the conversation. So now this lady is saying.
-
The lady asked this question, how come you? Then Jesus
-
goes a little bit deeper and he is actually introducing himself.
-
He is saying, I am God and I'm interested in you. Wow,
-
God's interested in us. I am God and I am
-
interested in you. Why would Jesus be interested in us?
-
I give you an answer, right, because he is God
-
and he doesn't do things the way we do things.
-
You see, the woman said to him, sir, you have
-
nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where
-
do you get this living water? Are you greater than
-
our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank
-
from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock.
-
So now the woman, you see, because because Jesus said,
-
I am someone who's going to be special in your life.
-
So this woman now begins to compare and say, are
-
you greater than what I consider is great? We ask
-
this question to the Lord all the time, but in
-
different ways. Are you able to help me with this
-
thing that I have failed for so long? You know
-
when you ask that question, you know what you're telling
-
God God, if I fail, you can't do it? Do
-
you think about it? I feel that this so long,
-
what you can help me? You are actually telling yourself
-
or telling God God, I'm better than you, and me
-
being better than you, I couldn't do it. You can
-
help me? Can you help me? I love Jesus. Okay,
-
you see, we are concerned with the normal and natural.
-
Now he is concerned with the true meaning of life.
-
Because Jesus is able to answer that question. If you
-
dare to ask the Lord a question, he dares to
-
answer it. If you dare to ask the Lord a question,
-
he will dare to answer it. So now the woman says,
-
Are you greater? Jesus is about to tell you better
-
believe it. You had better believe it. I am greater,
-
because Jesus says this. Jesus answered and said to her,
-
whoever drinks of this water, whom you considered came from Jacob,
-
that great man, they will trust again. But whoever drinks
-
of the water that I gave will never thirst because
-
I am greater than Jacob, whom you're talking about, the
-
water that I shall give him will become a fountain
-
of water springing up into everlasting life. You see. The
-
woman asked the question, are you greater? What was Jesus' answer?
-
You better believe it. I mean, you drink from this world,
-
you're gonna be thirsty, and you drink from me, You're
-
gonna have all that you need. His ways are greater
-
and supernatural. Answering her question, yes, I am greater. Guys, today,
-
if you forget everything that I share, always remember this.
-
Jesus needs to have a conversation with you. He needs
-
to have a conversation with you, as young as you
-
are or as old as I am. He wants to
-
have a conversation with us. Okay, And then he says,
-
I am able to give you the answer. I am
-
able to address your need. I am able to help
-
you in a way that lasts. You know, our solutions
-
and most of the time they don't last. How many
-
of you know what a video player is? Katty young ones?
-
Do you know what a videotape player is? Right? And
-
now everything on YouTube everything those days are this this
-
cassette you take and you put it in the machine.
-
It goes in and goes down, and a tape place
-
and you see a movie, right, you see a firm Gosh,
-
can you mentione it? You know? Do you know what
-
a videotape player is? No? No, can you mention? We're
-
really old man, it's frightening. So anyway, there's this video player,
-
this video player, and the rubber band burst. So now
-
the tape cannot come out or with busy cannot go in.
-
So I'm thinking to myself, God, send you the shop.
-
Gonna costs a lot of money, right, So you know
-
what I did. I opened a video player. Okay, saw
-
which is the rubber Then my kids had a balloon,
-
you know, had a balloon. I cut off the top
-
of the balloon because the balloon, the top of the
-
balloon looks like a rubber band. I took it, put
-
it on, and what's fine? It worked fine. But you
-
wanna know something, It works fine for a few months
-
and then it'll burst again. You see, because my solution
-
is not perfect. But jesus solution is perfect. Because what
-
does he say, Those that drink from me will never
-
thirst again. He gives you the perfect solution. Other guys
-
like me give you temporary solution. Wish you one. You
-
want a permanent solution, right, go to Jesus. He wants
-
to have a conversation. The woman said to him, Sir, sir,
-
give me this water that I may not thirst, not
-
come here to draw. She still didn't get it. Now
-
she thinks he's talking about water. But at least he
-
has interested her that now she wants something from him,
-
all right. And Jesus said to her, go call your
-
husband to come here. And the woman answered and said,
-
I have no husband. You know, Jesus invites you to
-
be interested. He invites us to partake of a conversation
-
with him, and then he asks us a question. The
-
question that Jesus asks always desires us to be truthful
-
to him. You see, if you want God to work
-
for you. No point telling him you're good when you're not.
-
You know, if you have to hide yourself, hide who
-
you are from everybody else, but do not hide yourself
-
from God. From God, be exactly as you are. Lord.
-
This is me, This is who I am. The world
-
is heming like this, But between you and me, this
-
is exactly me. I will not hide myself from you.
-
Because when he asked that question, what did Jesus? What
-
did she answer? She says, I have no husband. And
-
then I like jesus response. Jesus said to her, you
-
have said, well you have no husband if you have,
-
for you have had five husbands and the one whom
-
you now have is not your husband. In that you
-
spoke truly. You know. One thing we got to understand
-
about Jesus is he already knows everything. When he asks
-
you a question, not because he wants him to know.
-
You know, when Jesus asks us a question, it's not
-
because he wants to know the answer. When Jesus asks
-
us a question, he wants us to know. If we
-
know the answer, he is giving us an opportunity to
-
be square with him. He is giving an opportunity to
-
create an environment where he can do a miracle. You
-
know what is that thing that is needed for him
-
to do miracle? Truth? Truth, Because he said, you have
-
spoken truly, and the moment this woman spoke truth, Jesus
-
then starts to show off a bit, just to show you.
-
I am who I say, I am. This is what
-
you were doing. No, no, no, no no no wow,
-
God Jesus owed her. She got a taste of the
-
supernatural power of God. There is this word running in
-
my head which I hope to turn into a song.
-
I am, says I am, I am. It is I
-
am who say uh? I am says I am, so
-
I am. I am says I am, so I am.
-
When Gideon was thrashing wheat in the wine press the
-
other time I shared this, I said in the in
-
the threshing, No, it's the wine press because he was afraid.
-
What did God say, you, mighty man of Vala, I
-
am says I am, so I am. That that will
-
be the title of the song, be a country in
-
Western song. There's kind of songs sort of this kind
-
of title. Right when I've written it, I'll pray for
-
you one day already crying my head. So anyway, Jesus said,
-
you have done well. You have told the truth. So
-
now when we want to get deeper in the conversation,
-
as Jesus is going to ask us some questions. And
-
when he asks us some questions, what do you do? Lie?
-
Come on, he already knows everything. The woman said, I
-
have no husband. He said, you have told the truth.
-
I'm so glad, I'm so pleased. The woman said to
-
HIMSELFE perceive that you are a prophet. Isa. Now the
-
woman is beginning slowly to see who Jesus is. Faith
-
is beginning to build in her. What did she say?
-
She says, I believe. I perceive you are a prophet
-
our father's work. Now Jesus needed to see the woman.
-
Why because this woman had a need. It was the
-
desire for worship. So you want to know what attracts
-
the Lord and distract and so he doesn't care about
-
the noise around. It's the desire to worship God. You see.
-
Because now when this woman begins to perceive that Jesus
-
is special, she gets to the heart of the man.
-
She should have said, Lord, I want ten cows. Can
-
you give me ten cows? No, what did she say?
-
She said, our Father's worship on the mountain, and you
-
Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one
-
ought to worship. She shared to him with him what
-
was important upon her heart. This woman, who had five
-
husbands and now living with another man, still had a
-
heart to worship. Never look down on anybody, never judge anybody,
-
because God looks differently or looks at her heart. And
-
Jesus said to a woman, believe me. Let's do it.
-
In the voice of Jesus, woman, believe me. The hour
-
is coming when you will neither on this mountain nor
-
in Jerusalem worship the Father. You worship what you do
-
not know. We know what we worship. For Salvation is
-
of the Jews. I like doing that because even when
-
I do my quiet, when I do it like that,
-
you know, this is how I make it exciting for me. Laha, Okay,
-
So now Jesus is beginning to introduce salvation to her.
-
You see, the question of worship in a heart led
-
the Lord to change his direction. He needed to go
-
to a land that nobody would go to to meet
-
with this one woman so that he could share salvation
-
with her. Don't be afraid to go into territories you
-
do not know when you need to share salvation with
-
someone overcome your personal fear. Then Jesus continues, But the
-
hour is coming, and now is when the true worshipers
-
will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. For
-
the Father is seeking such to worship him. God is spirit,
-
and those who worship him must worship him in spirit
-
and in truth. You see, worship is the key. Worship
-
drew the Lord. Jesus started a conversation with her to
-
draw out from her what she needed. And as she
-
began to have more faith and perceive and and and
-
you know, more revelation came into her spirit. She shares
-
with the Lord what's deep in her heart. She's truthful,
-
and the Lord responds because he is after true worship.
-
You know, God is never interested in show or religiosity,
-
but one of heartfelt reverence. You know, you can go
-
to a church service and you get these guys dancing
-
up there. You can see it. You know a lot
-
of these videos. All right, People worshiping is like a
-
big concert if they're doing it, because they really are
-
worshiping the Lord. Praise the Lord. He receives it. But
-
do you know if it's a show he's not there.
-
Jesus is not in any church for a show. He's
-
in church for true worship. So it doesn't matter whether
-
you are good at what you're doing. But if your
-
heart is to worship the Lord, he will receive you.
-
When I first started worshiping that first church, that I
-
wish I couldn't sing. In fact, the worship leader had
-
to tell tenants, can you keep quiet because you're throwing
-
everybody off? The pastor heard that. You know what the
-
pastor said. Stop you continue to sing, whether you sound
-
bad or not, because one day they will bring a
-
dead body in front of you, and because you worship
-
the Lord like how you're worshiping now, the dead body
-
will come to life. Well, I continued, as terrible as
-
it sounded, but you will know something. The Lord taught
-
me how to sing, and after that, not only how
-
to sing, but to sing how many is? And not
-
only that, to sing how many is? While I was
-
playing the drums. How cool is that God's able to
-
do all things? The woman said to him, I know
-
that the Messiah is coming, so now she is getting
-
personal with him who is called the Christ. When it comes,
-
he will tell us, Jesus said, to her, I who
-
speak to you, am wow. And now the climax I
-
need to be saved. Jesus introduces himself as the Savior.
-
Isn't it wonderful this Lord of lords and king of
-
kings come to have a conversation with someone as ordinary
-
as you and me. I love it, especially for the
-
young kids that I hear you got many many, many
-
years of getting to know who Jesus is. The more
-
you get to know him now, the better your life
-
is going to be. For those of us who are older,
-
it takes a little bit more effort to take out
-
the nonsense before we can put in the right things.
-
But you at the stop get it done right the
-
first time, and your life will never be the same.
-
And at this point, you see, I love these disciples.
-
His disciples were always on time. You know when they
-
were on time because they were always off time. So
-
now after the work has taken place, they come and
-
they marveled that he talked to women, which means tells
-
me that this was a special event. It was something
-
extraordinary because they were surprised that he was talking to
-
a woman, which means that he didn't do such things.
-
It was special. M Uh yet no one said what
-
do you seek? Or why are you talking with her?
-
There's no record you see it. Listen to this. The
-
woman then left her water pot and ran into the
-
city and said to the man, come see a man
-
who told me all that I have, all that I
-
ever did? Could this be the Christ? She left the
-
water pot the script she said, he drank from it.
-
So when Jesus asked her for a water for water,
-
was he interested in the drink? So I told you
-
it was a conversational starter. Jesus wants to have conversations
-
with us. And I want you to know this. One
-
meeting with Jesus will turn you and I into evangelists.
-
Look what happened to her. What is an evangelist person
-
who tells about Christ? Isn't it? She ran in the
-
town and she told the people. She went telling everybody
-
he told me all that I ever Did you know
-
what this is discipleship? Because what was she saying? She
-
was telling things she had just learned. Was she saying
-
things she did not know? That's what discipleship is all about.
-
We teach what we know, what we learn, we teach.
-
You are young as a believer, it's okay when you
-
share what you learn to a young believer, they will learn.
-
This woman was not even a few minutes as a believer.
-
She already ran to do the Lord's work. He turned
-
her and to an evangelist. Then they went out of
-
the city and came to him. This is reading from
-
verse thirty. In the meantime, his disciples urged him, raherebi it.
-
Now the disciples were concerned about him. They were concerned
-
that he was hungry. But he said to them my
-
food to eat that you do not know. Then you
-
gotta love the disciples, because they said to one another,
-
as somebody else brought him food, you got to love them.
-
They didn't get it. They still didn't get it that
-
the Lord gets full and satisfied on doing the work
-
which he came for. And then Jesus said to him,
-
my food is to do the will of him who
-
sent me, and to finish his work. I imagine that
-
Jesus has been actually speaking to all of us and
-
telling us in our own way, in a language that
-
we understand in the conversation, that we understand that he
-
wants to talk to us. Today you get that sense,
-
respond and many was thirty nine, and many of the
-
Samaritans of that city believed in him because of the
-
word of the woman who testified. He told me all
-
that I ever did. Do you know? All she said
-
was he told me what I did, and the people believed.
-
And here, we don't want to share Jesus with someone
-
because we are shy. They would say, no, no, just
-
tell people will believe. So when the Samaritans had come
-
to him, now you see it. They believed before they
-
met him. You know, they believed in him before they
-
met him. So when the Samaritans had come to him,
-
they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed
-
there two days, in the place where Jews never be.
-
He stayed with them two days, and many believe because
-
of his own word. Then they said to the woman,
-
now we believe not because of what you said, for
-
we ourselves have heard him, and we know and indeed
-
that this is this is, indeed the Christ, the Savior
-
of the world. People were getting saved because one woman
-
wanted the truth about worship, and she was searching for
-
the Savior. Imagine what we can accomplish if we desire
-
to worship and have a relationship with Jesus. You know,
-
we expect. I expect to hear great stories about each
-
and every one of you, because as you go on
-
your life talking about Jesus, we're going to hear the
-
testimonies of all the great works that He can do
-
through you. The thing is this, we should just get
-
over our face. So what if we lose face. It's okay.
-
Jesus has our face in his side. Jesus is all
-
the time looking at our face. He is the only
-
one we need looking at our face. The rest all
-
that don't look at our face. It's okay. Just do
-
what he wants you to do. I promise you guys,
-
especially your students here, he will make you successful students.
-
Try asking him to help you with your most difficult
-
subject and see if there's improvement you'll find that is
-
What about those of us who go to work, What
-
about that difficult situation that we're having. Will you talk
-
to Jesus about it? Because if you talk to Jesus
-
about it, he's interested in that conversation and he will
-
help you. So people have come to the end of
-
the word. Even as the musicians come up again, I
-
say to you, if you do not remember anything of
-
what I've said today, You only need to remember one thing.
-
Jesus wants to have a conversation with you and me.
-
He wants it and when he has that conversation with you,
-
just be honest with him and he will change your life.
