So in Matthew chapter six, chapter six, verse five to eight.

Matthew Chapter six, verse five to eight, we're going to

I'm going to use this chapter chapter six, verse five,

but I'll we reading from verse six. Okay, all right?

Verse five to eight. All right, are you there? Okay,

and bring me someone is popping up there? Noh, okay, ken,

you turn to your bibles. It's good to carry your bibles.

verse five starts say this Jesus is saying, and when

you pray, you shall not be like these Hippocrates. For

they like to pray or love to pray standing you

know in the synagogues on the corners of the street,

that they may be seen by men. So they are

praying loudly in front of everybody to be seen by men.

But assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward

for what they do Jesus says, but.

You, okay, turn to your neighbor and see but you

but you all right, all right?

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and

when you have shut your door, pray to your father,

who is in the secret place. And your father, who

sees in secret, will reward you openly. Amen. Have you

read this verse? I'm sure you have many times, right,

So when you look at it today, it tells us. Ah,

he says, you know, go into your room, when you

have shut the door, pray to your father, who is

in the secret place, and your father, who sees in secret,

will reward you openly. Amen. Of course, it says when

you pray, please don't have used vain repetitions as the

heathen do, for they think that they will be hurt

for the many words. Therefore, do not be like them

for your heaven, for your father knows the things that

you need before you ask him. And then you ask,

then why should I pray? Because he already knows? Ah.

And I've been sharing I've been sharing this in other

plants as well, So because I'm focusing on prayer for

us in this season. So let us come into the

secret place. I've underlined the words pray, go into the room,

shut the door, secret place, and the God who sees

in secret. So there's a lot of repetition here, secret secret. Okay, pray,

all right, And so we're gonna see it here. Now.

I want to give you the word pray. So Jesus

says when you pray. Hey, look at the word here.

It says when you pray, not if you pray. Oh,

there's hope. There's not an if you will pray. He

doesn't even let me. He's speaking to the children of God,

speaking to us. He doesn't think that you will if pray,

you will pray. It's just a matter of when you pray,

not is if you pray. If means I don't know

whether you pray. You want to pray, you do want

to pray? No, he believes that you will pray. So

when you pray, Ah, there's a specific word here for us.

It's when we pray. What do we do? And this

is what we can do.

First word pray, And Jesus says when you pray, So

what does the word pray in the Greek. Now, the

word pray in the Greek has a few meanings, but

in this verse the word pray, the Greek word use is.

interceding on behalf of someone. We're submitting ourselves to the Lord.

not saying I want this and you don't give me this.

I don't friend you. No, you're submitting to the Lord.

Then there is confession. Oh, so when we prosecon mind,

there's also a place of confessing to the Lord. Maybe

even you know, we could be repenting. We could even

be confessing our love for him and confessing the truth

of God's word. Thank you, Lord, you are good that's

there's the word of when the word confess. Of course,

more science, confession does mean us coming and bowing our

houses and saying, Lord, forgive me a man. And in

prayer we do ask God for forgiveness. In our precourse

we may have fallen shot of something. There's this confession

to the Lord. Petition is to to stand and ask

for something before the Lord, asking the Lord for a need.

Right supplication also goes deeper. It means that we bring

our petition and we supplicate, We intercede, We intercede deeply

to supplicate for our prayer. And in n it simply

word means pray. Simply simply it means pray, to pray.

And then all these things are happening. So Jesus says,

when you pro supermai, okay, you go into your room.

Now you will say, I don't have a room. I

shared a room with my house maid, my roommate, LA,

my brother, LA, my sister, some of a chair room.

But let's look at what the word room means. The

word room means the mayon. In the Greek the maeon

means inner chamber. Do you have an inner chamber somewhere

in a chamber here all right, treasure room, whah, a

secret room, a storage janitor's room, okay, a storeroom. So

what does the idea connotate here? It's a very somewhere

deep right. It's an inner chamber. And you know the

room that God wants to speak to us is our

room in our hearts. This is an inner chamber. The

inner chamber is our hearts. I know there's a physical room.

So the things in the physical help us imagine the spiritual.

They're all parallel. It helps give a picture. So God

speaks to us where nts.

There?

And so we sing this song and now we'll make

room for you to do whatever you want to to do. Heir,

where's this room in your brain? God doesn't work with

your brain. He wants in your heart.

So a lot of people are very intellectual, very good.

You have knowledge of Jesus. He must come to your hat.

Your heart is the inner chamber, and God speaks to

our hearts. So here we are singing even yesterday, and

I will make room. Then if you're thinking one room

my house, go no more room ready, No, it's our hearts.

We make room. We gotta push away the distractions. So

the inner chamber also depicts to us God speaks to

our hearts, isn't it Because sometimes you, if you have,

if you're new in your faith, you say, how does

God speak to us? Does he speak to us audibly?

I heard your voice. Right. We all want to hear

speak audibly. He can. When Jesus came out the water baptism,

the spirit of God coming to him like the dove,

in our hearts. He speaks to our hearts because this

is where the real person is happening. No one can

see your heart, but the Lord sees your heart. So

I believe there's this inner chamber, this says us. So

in the physical if you were to go and pray,

you need a space, a space that nobody would stub you.

Now it could be a toilet. Okay, I don't know.

Some people told me you go nowhere to pray because

share room, share room, share houses, they go to the toilet.

I hope he's clean. The boy, he's a squat toilet.

Yesterday pass the sister Tune said, you know, I don't know.

If I go to a room, inner room, your heart

has to be that quiet space, but also a physical

space that you can go to. And when you go

to this room, Jesus says, pray. Yeah, you wanta shut

the door. Don't open any door for anyone to come

not answering. I've shut the door.

That's why he said, shut the door, don't leave it

open and everyone can see you, because the he doesn't

want anyone to see you.

Because the the people, well he called them the hippocrites.

They want the people to see them. And the Lord says,

shut the door so no one can see you. I

will see you. And then he says, because your father,

who's in the secret place. Right there you go pray

to your father's in a secret place, and your father

in heaven, who sees in secret world, reward you openly.

All right. So this secret place, the word see great

also gives you the idea that's hidden, it's concealed secret inward.

So again the word inward comes again inner chamber, Uh, inwards.

So it's it's it's a place that not seen, only

God sees, and you see because you are before the Lord. Amen?

So what what what do I draw out from here?

When we okay, we study the word in the Greek? Oh,

do we understand that in the Greek it means all

of these things? I mean, wow, go to the room,

treasure room. Maybe there's an expectation a treasure room. Maybe

a king in his palace he has a treasure room. No,

you watch all those movies, I don't know, Caribbean, Caribbean.

You they open door his inner chamber, right, and then

all this treasure there. Perhaps it also means that when

you come into the inner room before the Lord, there

are treasures forevermore, eternal, eternal treasures, the joy, his peace,

he is healing, his forgiveness. There's treasure there's an expectation.

So when we come into the inner room, we come

to the secret place that's concealed that secret inwardly in

our hearts. There's an expectation of great treasure that we

will experienced with our master in our quiet time. Yeah,

so what I want to say in the next sight

is prayer. It is more than just a list, right,

It's not just a prayer list of needs. I want

to help me in my studies, help me get a

new job, all of those things. But it is for

us to grow into a relationship with the Lot, amen to.

That's why it's in the inner chamber. It's a secret place.

You go in and you and you not just bring

a list yet, but you want to know the lot,

and the Lot knows you. Amen. And so you can

imagine that. I mean in the natural. Why why do

you know couples who just get to know each other

fall in love, they always to spend time away from

the crowd run please. Okay, I'm not giving ideas, but yeah,

you date someone, you go, you have dinner, or you

don't watch movies, laboring, watch movie, you cannot talk one

you cannot talk again, do other things, cannot do other things.

No hand stretching and all that. Okay, no, mister gadget,

all right, but you go and you talk. Most of

the time. We want to share our heart, share vision,

talk about so many things, so much talking after marriage

and nothing to talk. I don't know why. Gosh die here.

Okay, thirty years married, I'm gonna be thirty years.

Sometimes we do have our silent moment. Men, okay, all

the girls are men have this much of words? I

forgot how many thousand words? Youse already five hundred? Only

five hundred words a day? And then after that news

waiting tell me what happened today? How is your work today? Good?

How is this good? The wife is thinking, there's more

That's how men are made. Women, however, have many words

When you go into that relation, into that inner chamber

and you sit before the Lord. Actually we don't under talk. Ah,

Jesus waiting, you know, every day's waiting the same time

you're promise him. He's there. He never changes, he never moves.

We build a relationship with him. Amen. I don't know

how is your prayer now? Where are you at? Where

is your How many years you've been walking with Jesus?

We've rebuilt again. I've rebuilt so many times my prayer.

Life rebuilt because sometimes it fails after a while, you know, yeah,

so recharge again, change the way I do it? Come,

How do I meet with the lot? But always wanting

to meet with the lot. So I want to say

to us, our prayer time is more than a list.

We're not saying you don't bring your list. We do

bring our prayer needs. We pray for people, We pray

for so many matters. But for me, when I come

into that prayer in a room, I don't bring a

prayer list. I just want to talk to Jesus and

and just tell him my heart, because I want to

be transparent with the Lord and tell him how I

feel about this. This. Oh, I'm just proclaiming him a

confession of God. You're so good declaring him so that

all the realm above me will hear that. I'm proclaiming

that the Lord is my refuge, no weapon form against me.

She's a possible with Some days, you know, I'm just

thanking thank you Lord for you know, doing this, or

being with us at the conference. Thank you for healing

so and so. Thank you Lord. You're so good. You

provided me pray and you answered. Other days you're just worshiping.

But see, the more you're singing, you rememorize the words.

And then when you go into your prayer room and

suddenly you feel like, I really think God's wayful. You

have a song to sing, really modern day song. Modern

day worship songs are so long? How do memory? I know?

I do? I remember? We used to memorize the hymns,

you know, ah, so long? The four four method is

just four four four, not many many verses. I cannot

memorize the hymns only the first four lines. All right,

great is the faithfulness the first four that's it. Right.

But we learned songs on a Monday, on the Sunday stay,

we can sing it from the Monday to the hour Saturdays.

We repeat it because we can memorize it, and we

can use that song as a prayer, as a praise

and worship in our client time, in our prayer time.

Not because nothing else better to do, No, because we

learn songs. That's why, until today, forty years as a Christian,

I still remember songs. In nineteen seven, I was not

a christiay in nineteen seventies but people wrote songs in

the seventies and they're ever green. We're say singing you

know any song that's still sing you know come Bless

The song because your church would have sung it, come

Bless the Lords written in the seventies, skipture in song.

That's how we say it's a new song, is it?

Don't know? So it's because we sang it so many times.

We need our songs where we sing on Sunday, not

just repetitive just blur and just sing because it's there.

We sing. We absorb the song that's meaning to it.

Especially when you come on a Sunday and that song

speaks to your heart a war. You shouldn't go back

with the well this song really ministered to me.

Right, then you will take that song and you sing

it from your Mondays to your Saturdays.

Amen. And that's how we learn to worship you using

the songs that we have. The songs are not just

pay lip service to the Lord or to please the

faster steven. No, we are here to sing to the Lord. Amen. Amen.

So I want to encourage us. If you thought that

our time out with the Lord in the secret place

is just to bring our prayer list. Then we make

him now different from Santa Claus. Same thing with Santa Claus.

People don't know the Lord. They come and think that

sometimes it's Jesus sometimes and I think they're all the

same thing. No, they're not the same thing. But we

can use that as an opportunity to explain Jesus. Right,

The Lord is more than a list. He wants to

be with you. He wants you to know him. He

wants you to grow in your love and your walk

and your you know, your just relationship with him. Amen,

God is calling us into an intimate relationship, intimate intimate relationships.

He's more than a friend. He is the lover of

our soul. And again Basla has explained this before the

word to know him. The word no has the understanding

of a deep like a marriage between a husband and wife.

There is a deep intimate relationship. God wants you to

come into his heart as he will come into your heart,

and an intimate relationship. I have to say we can

grow in it. I don't think we'll get there because

we are so living this earth for so long, and

then we become a Christian. We think this is prayer.

We don't have a jawstack, we don't have an offering.

We just come as we are. So sometimes I feel

as a follow of Christ, we sometimes take it for

granted because we don't bring offering. MA last time from

a different faith, you know, so I have to bring

the jostick to cut chicken, you know, clean the altar.

I don't know whether you did it at my homeware.

To clean the altar, put the new oil. All that

and do that was worship right. There was an act

of service to the God that I served. But now

that I become a follow of Christ and a believer

in him. He doesn't make us do anything. He says,

come by the blood of the lamb. Come rather to

the throne room of grace. Just come the cross. He

made the way for us, and so we can take

it for granted because there's nothing to bring, nothing to clean.

We are the temple that God deals, lives in, dwells

in a man. So I just think we need to

remind ourselves again He is calling us not just the

prayer list, but a relationship. Amen. Now what we want

to encourage you is as we come in. That's why

these forty days a good time. If you haven't started,

why not start this week next? Light a personal time

away from our busy schedule and the things that easily

distract us. Just for a moment. Takes a moment out

and draw near to God. Okay, Amen, Now, as I

say this, I'm not saying to you that it's easy

for me. Also, it's sometimes challenging because before it's for me,

my time has to be in the morning and anything

else later I give up ready Why because life gets busy.

I much prefer to do it early morning, when there's

no sun yet, because once the sun comes up, I'm

like busy ready. You know, the messages start coming up

when the sun comes out. I don't know why all

the messages start coming are you now? I get distracted, Ah,

the distracted. So I try my best to wake up

before the sun is up. I try to wake up

at sixty possible on a day to day. But if

like not really been very tired, so I might hit

up a six thirty not yet sun up, but a

bit sun up last. So and I try to do

what works for me, what works for you. I think

in the morning, it's good before the day starts that

we can just seek the lot. All right, what's good

for you? Just seek the lot? Whyever? Time that works,

But if you want to make a priority, they're going

to follow. Jesus. Jesus also woke up early morning and

seek the lot. Mark Seek mark one thirty five, Mark

chapter one, verse thirty five. He woke up early in

the morning before the sun came up, and he went

to talk to his father. Amen, So have a personal

time out of your schedule, out of wherever others. And

it's just for a moment. When I say for a moment,

start with fifteen minutes. I did not say five minutes, dude,

fifteen minutes, five minutes. You know you can do like

go to it, let come back. Okay, just for a moment,

fifteen minutes, start with fifteen, then start with thirty minutes

you come away. Even just opening the Bible and reading

is a good way to hear the word, hear God

speaking to us. It may not be anything specific, but

sometimes it could be specific. But you have a reading plan,

So not teaching a reading plan today. I just want

to teach you or remind you about your prayer life. Okay,

so draw near to God. Now. I have a Psalm

twenty seven, but actually waging Actually verse eight I wrote

the wrong number. It's not verse three but verse eight.

So Psalm twenty seven and verse eight. If you read

the NLT, you have a different, simpler English. In the

New King James, it says when you said seek my face,

my heart said to you your face, Lord, I will seek.

This is New King James. So the Lord said seek

my face, my heart said to you your face, Lord,

I will seek. So in the New Living Translation and

LT says my heart has heard you say, come and

talk with me. Wow, it's an invitation, and my heart responded,

see the word heart, because we respond to God with

our whole heart, right, with all my heart, right, I

worship you. Right. So my heart responded and said, Lord,

I am coming. Amen. So God seeks us. Let us

draw near. Amen.

So my heart has heard you say come and talk

with me. My heart responds to say, Lord, I am coming.

So it's verse eight not verse three. Yeah, verse it,

and then we move on to the next one. Jeremiah

twenty nine thirteen says Jeremiah chapter twenty nine, Verse thirteen says,

and you will seek me, and you will seek me

and find me when you search for me with all

your heart. It is not like it's a hide and seek.

You know. God is hiding and you're seeking, and he

say I can't find you.

But he says, when you seek me, you will a

man a man. And when you because when you search

for me with all your heart, you will find me.

How much do you want a man to seek the Lord?

He will be found. He doesn't play hide and seek.

He's not far off, he's near to our hearts.

Jesus has made that possible for us. So if you're

saying I want to seek the Lord, but I think

I can't find him. I want to tell you this

verse says, when you search for him with all your heart,

you will find him. He does not hide away from us.

Even if you feel like I'm not worthy to be

to seek him. I've gone too far, I've done too

much wrong. I don't think he will receive me. That

is not God, because Jesus made away, and that way

truth and life always remains open to anyone who comes.

Come even when we're broken. Come even when we are lacking.

Come when we have fallen. Come when we have drawn

far away from the Lord. Come, he says, He says, Come,

and my heart says, yes, Lord, I will come. Just

come in the secret place, true or not. Friends, when

we have done wrong things, when we have we felt

we were too far away from the Lord, we forgot

you know, to do prayer time for two months already,

and you come now. I can't force you, I can't

pull you. But when you do come and you quieten

your heart, the Lord is dead. You just say, Lord here,

I am. I'm sorry. Jesus, I've been far.

Lord, forgive me, but I want to renew my love,

for I want to renew my walk.

I want to renew my time with you. I want

to renew my favor and trust in you. I believe

with all my heart the Lord does come. You just

have to receive it by faith, and as you take

that step, the Lord will be there for us, no

matter how far we've gone, how broken out. You know,

I remember when I was eighteen, nineteen years old. I

told you this story. I I just didn't disobeyed my

mom and I had a boyfriend and went out with him.

He wasn't buster.

Quickly den it's not me and my boyfriend, but my

parents did not allow me to have my boyfriend. Reading

I'm thinking, I'm nineteen, I'm a big girl. They're so straight. Oh,

I'm like, oh, boring?

And then uh.

And then I went to when when to watch a

movie and didn't tell her. After school, she calls my

best friend? What are best friends for?

She told her where I was? What a best friend?

And then to save me, came home. I lied to

my mom. That's it. Don't I know where you went?

And that was it? Wow, she said, you liked to

drama in the house. Drama mama, And then she was

very angry. She didn't trust me. It was very difficult.

I went through like, oh, you know, to to get

your parents angry with you, it's like halflower. But it

was very difficult because she was very upset. So even

when I went to the Lord, you know you didn't.

I didn't go to the lot immediately. It was so

difficult because you liked your mom's like lying to God right,

like my mom. So finally I mustered all my courage

and I went and talked to Jesus, and the Lord

spoke to me to some fifty one. And you know

what some fifty one is about. It's the prayer of

David who had gone way out of right, really way out.

Don't even bring the woman's name, but yeah, he's sin

and I read it. The word says you, I've sin

against the Lord and only the Lord, not even to mom,

because I lied to my mom, right, I didn't tell

her the truth. So oh, yes, Lord, I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

I forgive me, and so the Lord forgives. But it

took a long time before my mom forgave me. What

did I have to do. I had to deal it

with the Lord first, say sorry to mom. She not happy.

I can't do anything about it. I have to carry

on in my life because I can't just live like, yeah,

I've seen love. But God opens that door for us,

as I say, it's easier for you and I to

come to Jesus then to come to a man and

woman because they will remember your sin forever, right until

do they remember David sin? Right? But Sheba, But God

doesn't when you're ask him for forgiveness there and then

he takes that and he throws it into the depths

of the sea, never to remember because what he sees

is the blood of Jesus over us. That is the

way we have. He made away. We sing some that

you made away. What's yeah, He makes a way for

us and we come. Men will never forgive us. They will,

they will find it hard.

But this relationship that God has for us is to

always have a fresh jalah, a fresh road to come

to the Lord.

The cross reconciles us to God. The Lord wants a relationship.

And it's just like that relationship when you have a

relationship with someone that that kind of fatherly, the father relationship.

God always accepts us back any time. He accepts us

when you repent, when you turn and you don't go

around blaming God. You take responsibility. You say, Lord, forgive me.

He calls us, he wants us. He's waiting for us,

a man. When you seek him, you will find him.

I want to assure you and I that to establish

our prayer life with him, a man is part and

passive out what we amen. So I want to give

you a few steps for you to continue if you

haven't started. This is one recommendation for you. If you

already have one grade, keep going by. You're thinking, how

can I establish this? So we'll look at Exodus thirty four,

Verse two to three and verse five. Amen. So you

can turn to Exodus, the Book of Exodus, chapter thirty four.

And I use this as a guide for myself. It's

a good reminder. I learned this many many years ago

in a Bible class in my home church, and I've

always remembered it. So what are them guidelines for us?

Yea.

Let's look at the verse verse yea, Verse two to three. Now,

do you remember the story of Moses.

He went up forty days and forty nights, and God

was speaking to him and gave him the two Tablets

the Ten Commandments. He came down and there was partying

down down in the valley, and Josh was saying, oh,

look there's a sound of war, and God said, no, no, no,

there's sound a partying.

And they got down to the valley. The people were

really partying. Okay, they had a golden calf. Then they

were worshiping the idol because they said, what it is

is more than a month la, Right, So they said, hey, Aaron,

bro your brother Moses has gone up and we don't

know what happened.

To him, Charla. Maybe he died, maybe God consumed him.

Why thinking so long hasn't come? Come on, man, make

us God, make us a God. I don't know why

Aaron made a god for them? What did he tell?

Moses said, very what happened? And he said, I don't know.

They gave me this goal. I threw it in the

fire and out came this calf. So creative, you know.

He said, they gave me the goal. I threw it

into the fire, it says, and out came this calf.

He lied because he made the calf and God and

Moses was so hard broken. He was upset. He's like,

how can you do? What did you promise God that

you're worshiping? What are you people doing. Oh you know,

there was the come and divide. You don't choose God

or choose this calf from something like that, and all

the livers and he signed, and wow, people died that day.

That was a plague because God said I and I

only shall be your God. But you go and worship

this golden calf memory of what they saw in Egypt.

So our egypts, our past, can can, can can can

continue to follow us in the future. We're gonna put

a stop to death. So this is when it was

a true we were so angry. True God boom through

the ten commas and through timeless and he broke Alamah

cannot say. So he was so upset or I don't know,

He's like what And then God says, okay, come on up,

I'll give it to you again. So he goes up
