Why do I start off with what I started off

is because I needed everybody to remember that sometimes the

missions problem, the lack of missions or missionaries or people

going out. Sometimes they think it is a missionary problem,

but it's not. This is actually a problem about discipleship.

And you know this year we spent a lot of

time on discipleship, right. Why because the calling to go

for missions is meant for all Christians biblically, right, So

the question is have all Christians acted on your mission call? No,

once a year missions is only a start once in

ten years. It's only a start once in your lifetime

is also a start. But some Christians may have lived

their entire life without even going on one mission strip.

And when I mean that missions trip is really going

to some place outside your own culture, your own realm,

your own world. Right, And it's not very far Malaysia.

If you look at the stats I've got, I've got

a photograph. Oh okay, thanks, So our unreached people group

is actually very high. Don't look at urban states parts, okay,

look at the non urban states. The red dots are

places where the Gospel has not reached. So even in

Peninsula itself, there is lots of opportunities to do so.

And when I say this isn't there are Malaysians, don't

get me wrong, But there are different people group, different tribes,

different tongues, right that are not reached yet. Okay, so

there is an opportunity to do so. So the reality is,

like I said earlier, the unreached people is a discipleship problem.

Three billion people will not ever be reached if Christians

do not do their thing. You think about it, how

you want to rely on the current the current numbers.

This three point two billion is actually a stats three

years ago. It's probably gone up now and it will

continue to increase, right, And like I said, mathematically, you

will never get there if we do not Christians do

not follow Jesus the way we are supposed to follow Jesus. Okay,

So another way to put it, we do not need

more missionaries. We don't need another hundred missionaries. We don't

need another million missionaries. We need one hundred maybe one

hundred million Christians just doing what they're called to do,

and then we will probably see the number come down

a little bit. Okay, So I hope you see the

difference over there or the impact it can make. So really,

next night, we do not need more missionaries. We really

just need more Christians. When I say Christians, not nominal

Christians or Christians by but Christians that do what they're

called to do, which is to make disciples. All right,

disciple makers of all nations now also wanted to clarify

what is all nations? Nations is not just countries, nations

is everything else that is not of your culture. Now,

for those of you who watched movies or a series,

you know you if anyway watched Banner Brothers before, okay,

you know in the early few episodes of the Banner

Brothers they were doing training where was training done in

home ground right back in the US somewhere. And these

young soldiers were in training because they were going to

be sent out for wars during the World War two era.

But when they went out for war, things started to

make sense. They are training what they were called to do,

what they were training for, but they were not men

to fight on home soil, is what I'm trying to

illustrate here. They were men, they were trained and men

to be activated in foreign land or in other nations. Okay,

like I mentioned to you, other nations can be also

translated into other cultures. Now, let's look at Jesus what

he said in Matthew twenty the Great Commission. I think

we know this by heart, hopefully by now, all authority

in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore,

go and make disciples. And if you look at the highlights

of the of all, not one, not some, but all nations, right,

baptizing them in the name of the Father and of

the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them

to obey everything I've commanded you. And surely I am

with you always to the very end of age. Again,

the commandment is to reach all ethnic groups, right, not

a general command, but a specific command. All the peoples,

all the places in this earth is meant to be reached. Now,

we spend some time with some of the Benton people

about a week ago. They shared that predominantly the people

that were represented there, even in the small community there

were from the Tamir Samai ja Kun. I think there

was a bit of mention there, the one and Simulai.

So about four or five people group just in that

small compound over there. Okay, So that I would say

is already five quote unquote nations, right, because what the

Bible says as nations, it's not a quantitative nation like countries,

but it's a qualitative way of quantifying nations because it's

actually language groups. Right. If you look at Mark sixteen,

it says, here, go into all the go into the world,

and preach the Gospel to all creation, everybody, not some,

not the select few, all the nations. And you see

Luke says the same thing as well, repentance for the

forgetness of his sins will be preached in his name

to all nations. So do you see this? The essence

of the Gospel is really to speak or to share

the good news, and to proclaim the good news to everyone.

Not one is exempted. The question is are we doing it?

Are we still worried about how much we receive in

the church, how much we are trained in the church,

how much we oh, this person is not doing this

for me, that person's not doing Are we actually going

out and being Christians? Right? Otherwise that three point two

billain will not come down. And that's scary, right, And

I hope we feel that right, because the little that

you do will make a difference. Now, of course, the

story in the Book of X right where Luke picks

up in X one talks about Jesus what he just

said to his disciples. Right, The important thing about this

portion of X one is that you will receive power

when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will

be my witness in Jerusalem and in Judea and sa

mirror and to the ends of the earth. So the

question is it's also a guarantee here rather that you

will be equipped. You will have the power. Everyone who

have supernatural power, you know, the things that were shed

just now, it is not class in the ability. She

was just sharing that she was not just ill equipped,

but the power has been given to her to then

be able to witness, to disciple, make among different people. Group, right, we,

I think had the opportunity to be praying our broken

Malay to different different minites of different needs. Doing that thing.

I think that was a special thing for I think

most of us. Then you were really put on a different,

shifting perspective that is beyond yourself. It's really about being

the you know, the hands and feet of Jesus wherever

you are. And I think this is something that we

ought to remember because we are empowered. It's guarantee in

the Bible that we are empowered to be a disciple maker.

All right, So if you ever feel ill equipped, really,

I think you just have to go out there, remember

what you were trained to do, remember what promises are,

and the promises is. Really we are empowered and God

would enable you to do greater things. Okay, Now, let's

look at the how the Gospel was shared in the

early days, all right, in the first few chapters in

the Book of Acts as well, you know where uh,

you know Stephen was stolen.

Uh.

Then later there were scattering of the disciples all right

into Judea and Samaria. Let's look at the next slide.

So Saul, before he became Paul, uh talks about this, right.

It says here at that time in the great persecution

arose against the Church, which was at Jerusalem, they were

all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria except

the apostles. Now a pause there for a while. What

is the meaning of scatter? What do you do when

you scattered? You disperse? Right? Do you scatter with one

or maybe a handful. No like seats. You don't scatter

one seat like and then hopefully something will happen. You throw,

because then they get numbers game, right, the odds are

higher for something to take root and grow. Right, So

scattering is like that. So similarly as well, when we

talk about going out and disciple making it, we're scattering.

Not everybody will hear the good news and receive the

good news. That's not our job right to worry about.

But we are to still go and scatter. And this

is exactly what it is, right, scatter. Therefore, those who

were scattered when everywhere preaching the good word, scatter, scatter, scatter.

You see the gospel even in that day, it's not

for a select special group, not those that have the

missionary name, tech or badge on. It is for everyone.

Every day Christians were going around, scattered everywhere and proclaiming

the good news. Okay, And this is why the gospel

reached far and wide, because they were doing what they're

called to do. They were just scattered. Right. So again

they may remind everybody it is the effort of everybody.

If you look at the next verse from X eleven

same thing as well. Those who were scattered after the

persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as all

those places over there. They traveled by the way when

they travel back then, it's not an economy class, business

class kind of a ticket, you know. They really traveled

on land, on ships, et cetera. Okay, and they were going,

they were walking. They may have donkeys, I'm not sure.

Sometimes if you're a privileged you might have one. But

it was really a long journey. What motivates them? And

sometimes you ask us, you know, an hour or so

to beentong is not verify Actually, in fact, yeah, it's

nothing compared to what they went through. Right, They didn't

have GPS, so they may hear and get lost a

little bit. It's just just joking, but you get the idea.

And they were preaching preaching the good news to who,

to the non Jewish people. All these people here, the

helleness and all that, they were not their people. They

were doing missions. Why because again they were doing evangelism

in a new culture, towards a new culture, to towards

a new nation, towards a new people group, towards a

new tongue, towards a New tribe. All right, and this

is what we're called to do, Christians. And I say everyone, Christians,

we are designed to be scattered. We are meant to

be scattered. We are not meant to just be in

our home church day in day out. You know how

many Sundays are there in the year. You do the math.

We're not meant to be here every Sunday. We are

meant to cool out, meant to be scattered. All right.

Now look at Paul, the famous evangelists. See what happens. Okay,

let's read extra thing. Now. In the church that was

at Antioch, there were certain prophets and the teachers Barnabas,

Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Serene or Sireene Okay, Mannion,

and who has been brought up with Herod and Herod

and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord and fasted,

the Holy Spirit said, now separate me from Barnabas and

Saul for the work to which I have been called. Then,

having faster than prayed and laid hands on them, they

were sent away. So this is so very important to

understand because even as we set out missionaries or send

out different groups to go and do missions. We do

the same thing as well. We do pray for them

and thank thankfully you've prayed for all. The team has

gone out last week, and and I really believe you know,

sometimes the success of a mission, by the way, missions

is not just go there ministry people. There's a lot

of spiritual elements in there. When we were sitting down

with the local pastes there, they were sharing averse the

different challenges that they have because these people actually put

curses on even the local pastors there, those what they

call it jumpee woodoo dolls equivalent, et cetera. And it's

a very real thing. Okay, So as you cover different

ones and you send them out, it's a collective effort

from the church. And you see that being in practice

even then as well. So of course they went out,

they were sent by the Holy Spirit. They preached the

God's word and all that. And you can see specifically

here the whole tress is involved with the with the effort.

It's not just those that were sent out. So like

I said, if you can't go out, you can also

journey with the rest or partner with the rest as

we send people out. Okay, So Paul's first journey. If

you look at it, got a map over there. He left,

They left Antioch. He followed the rad arrow over there,

so it's a bit small, follow the red arrow over there.

They went out. They go went to Cyrus. They proclaim

the word, and they made disciples. They gathered them together

in the church. Then in the process, Paul became sorry,

Saul became Paul, and then they moved into different places.

So they were not staying put. Right. Sometimes when we

go out and do missions, we plant and we stay put.

It's not God's design. Sometimes I often think of this

as a as as a way of like, you know

how travel latest or those are who travel on airport's

travel latest. For me, I got a pet peeve whenever

the travelator, someone stands on travelator, I get very very

annoyed because for me, the travelator is supposed to help

you move faster. It's not meant for you to just

stand there. So I get very annoyed. So something I

don't used to traveltor, I'll just walk. I'll just walk

along the side because sometimes I walk faster than the

person is standing on the travelator. My pointing the travelator

is meant to help people move it's not designed to

just stand and statically move Similarly like this, for us,

Christians are designed to move. We are not meant to

stay put in one spot and and and forever, I guess, minister,

or grow or or people grow, you move on, right,

and Pastor talks about this as well, Right, He talks

about the dangers of really just celebrating where we are

and staying stagnant, and then celebrate the monument and then

forget there were actually a movement. Okay, sorry, the pet

tief thing, it's not it's not meant to annoy for

those of you who stand and the travelators and all that.

God bless your heart. I mean, it's okay. I don't judge,

but I myself, I just w on the side. Okay, anyway,

that's just me. Anyway, let's just move back. They return,

of course they return. They were accountable to the local

church as well. H And then later on he was

sent out again, and this time the second missions politics silasts. Right,

they picked up Timoty along the way. But you know

they went to the same place as before. Why because

maybe perhaps back then the church requires encouraging, right, they

needed to, so they went back again, right, but you see,

it's still the same thing. They were still planting churches,

they were still making disciples. Perhaps they also look at

new places, new people, but they were pressing on, they

were hitting in. And then they in the third journey,

you know, he doesn't. He then went and then ministered

to the people in Corries, sent letters back then to

people in Krinth. All right, And why did he actually

pass by Roman Rome rather? You know, because he was

actually they speculate, because the fourth Journey did not happen.

They speculated he was actually on his way to Spain.

But why Spain? Because Spain is new grounds, new territory,

all right. And this is important because when he wrote

and talked about or his intentions go to Rome is

to actually prepare himself for something bigger. Let mess equipping

himself for something bigger. He's on his way, but it's

always to new grounds. Right And if you can, you

read in Romans fifteen over there you can see here

verse nineteen. Let us read together, right, I fully preach

the gospel of Christ, okay, And so I have made

it my aim to preach the gospel not where Christ

was named. In other words, if Christ had been shared,

they've heard it, they are reached. I move on. That's

why he's saying, okay, for it is written to whom

he was not announced. They shall see, and those who

have not heard shall understand. So you see the next

verse of that, the plan to visit Rome for this reason,

I have been much hindered from coming to you, but

now no longer having a place for work in these parts?

What do you mean by no longer a place for

these parts? All right? It's an interesting thing, right, So

what I's trying to say is that Rome is not

the final destination. It's just a stopping point because he's

probably on his way to Spain. And you will see

he's coming to Rome to just to to be equipped

to go to Spain. But it is not his final destination.

But when he said there's no longer any work there,

are you serious? You think the people that already perfectly

no right, they're still work to be done. And this

is exactly the same thing. Right. Sometimes even as you

start something, a church can still things of growth within

the local church itself. But we have to move on.

We have to move on if anything in Krent that

the place is still messed up, you know. But he

needed to move on. Now, I take a simple analogy here.

We used to live in a place where there's very

prone to bushfires in Australia. In Victoria. Every year when

the tempers got to the forty six degrees, it's very

easy for bushfires to happen. There was one particular year,

I think it wiped out a few townships. And if

you put yourself in the in the situation, or if

you are let's say the firefighter, the commander in chief

of the fire fighting team, and you have a large team,

right when you go to a particular place, you put

out a fire. When it's under control, you move on

to someplace else. Correct, Naturally, you may send Team A

here under control, or Team A team be here, and

then under control you send Team B somewhere else because

the need is there. You don't really extinguish everything before

you move on to some place, otherwise there'll be more

damaging effects. And this would probably be something similar as well. Right,

what I'm trying to say is that the commandant officer

probably thought, Okay, these people is not the most important

need right there. They are already saved, but there is

an urgent need somewhere else because those people are unsafe.

Not this unsafe. There is no opportunities for the gospel

to be heard over there. So it's more urgent that

I send my people or go myself, go somewhere else.

Because these guys are okayde right, it's about how big

their mention is in heaven. But they are already going

to heaven, so to speak. Right, So it's focused on

the greater things. So redeploying, restrategizing is what ought to do.

Because why the other people are dying, burning in the

fire equivalent, they are doomed, right, So it's okay, let's

keep on working. Let's keep on focused on what's out there.

People that are dying. People here I think are fine.

Right again, there are needs, et cetera. But we are fine.

It's not so critical, right, So let's be outward looking.

Speaking of fire as well, sometimes you know it's fire

r At the moment you stop something, the fires doesn't

spread anymore. So where is I guess if you do

not exercise something or keep on going at something as well,

the fire would dim down and die down as well.

So whenever you've got passions somewhere, God puts something in

your heart speaks to you, act on it quickly as well,

just like the fire as well, the passion will die down.

And God was sometimes also remind you, son, daughter, remember

the time I spoke to you about this a month ago,

two years ago, ten years ago. Have you acted on

it yet? After a wild God also like, okay, I

know whatever, don't let the passion die. Don't let the

fire die, all right? So the danger is really yeah,

back to my traveling the story, don't just stand still.

Let's continue to move, because if you do not move,

then there's a danger that we are more focused on

maybe even let's use the word church preservation preservation right,

that we are so worried about how we preserve, how

we do things here, that we are not transforming the

community outside the church, and that is where missions will fail,

and that three point two billion will not ever ever

be reached. So every church, whether big or small, has

to understand this. It's not just for the mega churches,

it's even for the small churches as well. If we

lose our plot, if we lose our sight on the

importance of missions and leave it to some Western maybe

American whatever church do culturally, so sometimes they're a bit

more removed. You think they're gonna come over here and

speak to the ram jakunin, you know, for us to

speak bass, so it's a bit of a stretch. Imagine

if it's somebody else, they'll be less effective. All right,

So let's not let's not do that, Let's not become

focused on ourselves pastor can I say this before I

think I have a slide there? Let's uh, let's continue

to build a movement and not just monuments. You can

read about it as well, But that's where all this

about going out, you know, having small groups, finding a

church in every street, every school. It's really something that

we ought to catch on. Right, and again this is missions,

not evangelism. All right, you need to understand this. Okay,

So what is the endgame? What's the endgame for all

these things? When do we we quote unquote Christians stop

doing what we are called to do by God? Any

any anybody? Any ideas? Huh? When three point two billion

people are saved? So are we there? No right? But

good news for you is that in Revelation seven, you

read verses nine to ten, it says, here therefore before

me a great multitude that no one could count, no

one could count. There's a lot spirraitrey point two billion

or even more from every nation, not every nations, tried

people and language standing before the show before the lamb.

They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches

in your hands, and they cry out in a loud wise,

salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne,

and to the lamb. So what does it tell you?

It will happen, But it involves everybody. So are we

just gonna sit down and do nothing? I mean, sometimes

it's like that it will happen. Then Okay, it's not

my it's not my, not my thing. You know, somebody else,

my neighbor will do it. Also, not the right approach

LA right, right, So let's do this. Like I said,

it's by design. God has designers to do so let's

take up the call. Let's be involved. Let's not just

leave it to somebody else to do it. Like I said,

the word that shared today is very simple. In fact,

the video that is shard that two many video has

already summarized everything. Right, And I can keep on talking

about this till the cows come home. It's not going

to get anywhere if there is nothing that you I

guess there's no conviction, right, So really I urge you

guys to take it on and pray about it, allow

God to move, allow God to speak into your life,

and just try. You'll be in against small steps. You know,

those guys that went on a mission strip, I think

more than fifty percent of them are all first times.

You think there's no fear, right, you think they feel

fully equipped. And that's also the other thing we'll talk about,

barriers and all that. To do missions definitely is a

real thing. You know, language, et cetera, spiritual stuff and

all that. But you know, really sometimes the first step

is really you know, hear what you do, how you

prepare yourself If you're not going to say yes, definitely, God,

can I use you? Right? What do we sing is

not the last song before we we you know before sorry,

make room make room means what? Right, When you make room,

you have to also clear up some stuff before you

know you can you can put more stuff in that,

you know whatever, so you need. It's a very intentional thing,

is what I'm trying to say here, Right, So how

do we complete the mission? Really is true discipleship, right,

It's really true discipleship. Now it's gonna end here with

just three very simple things or reminders. That really is

all about following Christ. That's the main gist of it.

It's not even an extension of what we are called

to do. Right. We are caught to be follows of Christ,

follows of Jesus. Just doing that really, right, it's just

one aspect that he's doing. So as Christians, we have

to make disciples wherever we go, wherever we live, whether

you're going holiday or not. Also, you still need to

make disciples, right, lead them, share with them. Right. The

purpose is for all, like I said, a ll capital letters,

for all to actually know Jesus. It's not a program, guys,

it's a design. Right. So the first thing is really

go you don't up in It's not optional. Jesus said,

go into the world, preach the Gospel to all creation.

So at the end of our life, if I have

not gone once, I don't know what to say to

my Lord. Right, So just go right, go. And like

I said, it's easier these days because of the different

ways we can reach. Travel is easier, right. Sometimes you

also privileged when we are traveling for work, when your

company sends you to some place you can think about

what can I do in that process? Right, and so

you don't to maybe bear so much of the costs.

Some of these missions are not cheap as well. I

understand that, but let's see the opportunity to to really

do that and what we've learned inven a recent missions

trip as well. These kids, even the rural areas, they

have access to a lot of these things. So they're

actually receiving a lot of things TikTok nowadays, like to

send a letter to current right during that time. It

is a race neal meal kind of thing. You know.

Nowadays you can even arrange things via communications.

We are.

Encourage go proclaim it's much easier. Not to say it's easy,

but I always say it's easier than Paul's time. Okay,

so let's find ways to do it. Let's not make excuses,

all right, Uh. In other words, don't just be disciples,

but let's make disciples. Let's not just stop there. Let's

engage the unchurched. Let's make more disciples. You know, Jesus

have always said this, not come follow me. I'll make

you fishes for men you don't We're going fishing soon, right,

we don't just learn the skills and not go not

do anything right. You ought you have to do it

right because the Great Commission is not a general command.

It's for everyone. It's specific and it's for everyone. I'm

just gonna skip to the second point. So this is

an obedience on obedience. Really, I think what you can

do in your outcome is really predetermined already in our hits.

The first step, the first barrier is up here. I

don't always say the heartler first barriers here. Sometimes we

do things right. We know we have to. That's just

exercise or health, health things. You know, you need to

commit to something first West chileser, how is his cheles? Anyway?

Everybody Chiles happy? Thirty five? He's also he's also going

to a very healthy uh stage in his life because

he's determined here first that he wants to uh you know,

live longer, and therefore he does what he does. You know,

he's just amazing that the exercise regime that is going through.

But again, first bearer is here. You think it's easy

to wake aut five in the morning to do a run,

Now you think it's easy to you know for missions

is all right? These guys prepared, pray and fast for

two weeks before they went for missions. There's also preparation involved, right,

But yeah, first thing is really obey, you know. Fear

is definitely there, all right, fear the outcome. But again,

don't be afraid to to to take that first step

to walk again. Jesus has prom us that he will

equip So let's live by the spirit. Let's live by

the spirit Romans eight ten. He says, uh, you know

his spirit who lives in you. Right, So again we

are to not just pray for the spirit, but be

led by the spirit. If the spirit leads you, you

need to obey. Otherwise, what's the point, right it? To

live according to it? So reminder him In Philippines to

twelve to thirteen, it says, here, therefore, my friends, as

you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but

now much more in my absence, continue to work on

your salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God

who works in you to will and to act in

order to fulfill his purpose. So remember it's all his plan. Anyway,

we are just merely obeying and participating. The invitation is there. Actually,

it's an invitation in the commandment two in one kind

of thing. But you know, I think we ought to

live our Christian life more seriously, maybe even for some

of us, really take God more seriously by just obeying.

And obedience is something that you learn, you know, kids,

all those first few times you're based challenging right records,

but over time you also it's easier. But sometimes for

us adults, I think we struggle with that a bit more. Lastly,

is to learve right. I think this is don't have

to elaborate too much on this. It is the Holy

Spirit's role to convict. Your role is to love. So again,

you share, you do missions, you pray for the best,

you move on, right even missions. Don't go back to

the same missions field all the time. Right, don't go

to ben thirty times, you know, go to new places,

new unreached places. I continue to love. Let God do

his thing. It's the Holy Spirit's role to convict. Your

role is just to love, and all we do that

is really just love. Right. I think extremely can come up. Ready,

I'm going to end here now. The most important thing,

the most important question is that, so what needs to

change in our life? What needs to change in your life.

I have a slight thing at the end in order

for you to become a disciple maker of all nations.

Now this is a general question, so I pray if

you need to just close your eyes for a bit personally,

think about this. What needs to change for you personally

to become a disciple maker of all nations? Do you

need to change the way you pray? How would you

use your treasures, your talents? What need to change in

your perspective and your own personal life, your priorities? Ask

yourself again, how is God calling you to become a

disciple maker for all nations? Because I'm quite sure he

would have. Where is he leading you? Is he opening

doors for you for short term or even long term missions?

You know? Have you responded? And then another call is

to the leaders. When I say leaders, not just leaders

of the church, but to all leaders of households, families, men.

Talking about talking to you guys. All right, whether you

have kids or not, you are a leader in your household,

Our church or God's Church won't be able to go

to nations if you do not lead your family to

be disciple makers in those RAI zones that we just

talked about. You think it's easy for a dad like

myself to bring my kids over. Actually, I'm the most inexperienced.

If anybody it will be the most experienced because his first

mission strip was six months old. I only went to

missions as an adult or much later. But as a

leader of your household, you need to put this a

center stage right then, for the church leaders. Are we

mobilizing our flocks, the people that's under our care, and

again it can be parents as well. Are we mobilizing

them to become disciple makers of every nation? Are we encouraging?

Are we saying no, no, no, no, go, no go, I

know what, they're not clean, those kind of things. Those

are barriers. Sometimes it's not even them, it's you. You

are the barrier. Are you withholding them back? As the

leader of the household, of your flock, of your church,

are you hindering them from what God has called them

to be or to become? That is the ultimate question.
