  1. You're listening to a message to go from AXT Church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your tea.

  3. Yeah. So coming back talking about vision and mission. Uh,

  4. do you guys know what's the vision of X Church

  5. helping people believe? Close but not quite there's a motel,

  6. a tech line vision vision. What's the vision is a scripture?

  7. Hint we quote it quite a bit close but not

  8. quite close. It's in the old estament. Okay, leaders, help

  9. me out here, yes, hypercok two fourteen. For the whole

  10. earth will be filled with the knowledge of glory of

  11. God as the waters covered the see all right, So

  12. this is actually the vision of X Church, right to

  13. see the whole field with the knowledge of gloria of

  14. God as the water's That means to want to see

  15. every single one of us here who call ourselves part

  16. of this church, to bring God's glory to wherever we're at,

  17. whether it's your marketplace, your class, your family, your neighborhood,

  18. to bring God's glory, to bring the love of God

  19. to the people around. There's the vision of EX Church.

  20. Any one of you know the mission of EX Church.

  21. Every every every organization we have vision and mission so

  22. that we'll know where we're hating, right, So X Church

  23. we also have So there's vision mission. Why is the

  24. mission of ex Church to make disciples? If fifty points

  25. it's halfway there. Helping people believe not quite in our

  26. nation is not really the disciplepose is the theme for

  27. the year, it's not the mission. Okay. I'll tell you guys.

  28. Our mission ex Church mission is to make disciples that

  29. make the difference. That is our mission statement. Okay. And

  30. so why do I share this because for those of

  31. you who have been coming, If you guys don't know,

  32. it's good to know because this actually determines what we do.

  33. We follow this tightly. Every initiative, every plan that we

  34. pray and we receive from the Lord ll ties in

  35. to our vision and mission, which is the mandate that's

  36. given to ex Church by God himself. All right, So

  37. this is what we believe, This is what we stand for.

  38. This is what we do to make disciples that make

  39. the difference. And when we say to make disciples, all

  40. of you for the believers here, you're all disciples of Jesus, right,

  41. That means our goal is to help you make the

  42. difference wherever you're at. And that comes with your purpose,

  43. knowing your purpose, finding your purpose in the Lord, and

  44. living out your God given purpose for His glory. All right,

  45. So there is our vision mission for those If we

  46. have new friends here, this for you to know as well.

  47. Introduce a little bit of access to you. This is

  48. what we believe in our vision and our mission. Okay

  49. are we doing? Okay? So far? A little bit quiet today.

  50. I hope you guys are all right. Okay. I want

  51. to start off with a question. Okay, when you look

  52. at a Christian and I want you to look around you, Okay,

  53. your friends, the brothers and sisters in Christ. Okay, Now

  54. I want you guys to look forward, the look the

  55. left right, so that the one thing that you're judging

  56. them with the next statement, okay, all right. The next day,

  57. I'm gonna ask is this, when you look at a Christian?

  58. What will make you go like this? This Christian? It

  59. is an embodiment of Christ, a true Christian. Let me

  60. repeat that question again. When you look at a fellow Christian,

  61. what makes you go like this? Is it a true Christian,

  62. a true child of God, a true disciple of Jesus.

  63. I'm gonna throw this out as ys any answers from you?

  64. What makes you go like, yeah, that that that is it?

  65. This person? Yes, Christian, imagure a true image of a Christian.

  66. Help me out here throughout trout and don't give textb

  67. answers that your answers, your answers, no right or wrong?

  68. Me oh yoh, thank you, thank you in humility, praise God? Okay?

  69. Uh any more? More? Uh? What makes you go like, yeah,

  70. that's a When you see that person, you go like,

  71. this person is a true Christian? What do you see?

  72. What the are the things that he or she does? Praise? Yeah?

  73. A person who praise anymore anymore? Anymore? Encouraging when they

  74. don't they mentioned God anymore? Kind anymore? Sorry, meekness, Ah,

  75. meekness okay anymore? Huh, don't have a dear loving others

  76. anymore anymore? Say hello, got a lot of work to do.

  77. What makes a good Christian? I'm making their statements in blood, fruits? Okay?

  78. Fruitfulness anymore, always giving glory to God anymore? Daddy anymore?

  79. Come on, help me out two more? Then we proceed

  80. very from in the Bible. That's what she said, knowledge

  81. that knowledge okay, one more, faithful, awesome, Thanks for sharing. Hey,

  82. nobody say attends every Sunday at church. Huh, that's okay,

  83. but hey, not attending prayer every single prayers of Issa

  84. without missing attending homes with Hey, you guys didn't say

  85. that serving every Sunday. Let's go. No, really, are you

  86. should not? Isn't that? That doesn't mean that person is

  87. a true Christian? Very good? It was a test we

  88. are getting somewhere. I asked this question with an intention

  89. and it will it will later it will start to, uh,

  90. you know, unravel itself and you'll understand why I asked

  91. this question. One of the things that so what I'm

  92. going to preach about today is actually something that Passa

  93. kind of share with the key leadership a few days

  94. ago at our retreat. I share this with the leaders

  95. as well yesterday at our leadership training. But today I'm

  96. gonna of course, on the leadership level, we are talking

  97. about the church as a whole, and today I'm gonna

  98. break it down for us as disciples on as individuals.

  99. You know, how do we apply? All right? So, so

  100. there is something and that the Passa can share, and

  101. we really believe this will really push us forward as

  102. a church when we get this right. Okay. So the

  103. title for the message I have for us, if you're

  104. taking notes, is this cross the line. There's a weird

  105. statement to say. We usually say don't cross the line.

  106. All right, again, these will make sense at the conclusion. Okay,

  107. so stay tuned. Okay, So let's look at scripture real quick.

  108. All right, mark chapter one, verse two to thirty nine.

  109. One us, if you have your bible to just please

  110. flip open your bibles. I'm gonna read through this and

  111. at certain part I will mention certain things, and I

  112. want you to just maybe put your finger at where

  113. the verse ends so that we can continue after I

  114. asked you to hear mark certain things. Okay, mark chapter

  115. one verses they two to thirty nine. I'll be reading

  116. from the NKJAV version. Okay, it's okay, John, we don't

  117. show this first. Yep. Mark chapter one, verse they two

  118. to thirty nine. All right, are you guys there, Yeah,

  119. I'm gonna read this. Okay. So at evening, when the

  120. sun had set, they brought to him all who were

  121. sick and those who were demon possessed, and the whole

  122. city was gathered together at the door. Then he healed

  123. many who were sick with various diseases and cast up

  124. many demons, and he did not allow the demons to

  125. speak because they knew him. Wow, I'm gonna pause here.

  126. Isn't this a picture of a successful ministry? Think about it?

  127. Isn't this a picture of how we want our church

  128. to be? Imagine every Sunday, people flooding the doors the

  129. whole town of Banda, Utama, and I'll steps one thing

  130. to come in, to be prayed for, to be healed,

  131. to be delivered. Isn't that a picture of success? Man?

  132. Wouldn't that'd be amazing? But I want us to pay

  133. attention to what happens next verse thirty five. Now in

  134. the morning, having reason a long while before day lie,

  135. he went out and departed to a solitary place, and

  136. there he prayed. Jesus went to pray. Okay, I'm gonna

  137. pause it again. Jesus, Okay, I'm gonna ask this question.

  138. Have you ever woke up at three or four am

  139. and pray? Some of you, yes, some may be no.

  140. For those who say yes, what caused you to wake

  141. up at three or four am to pray? Some people

  142. will call this the ungodly hour? No Godlin what I pray?

  143. Funny right, But yeah, three four am. For those of

  144. you who woke up to pray at such timings? What

  145. caused you to do so? Suddenly cannot sleep? Woken up anymore?

  146. Trouble anymore? Anxiety, nightmares? Okay, Okay. My experience is I

  147. rarely wake up at three am to pray. I usually

  148. sleep through quite well, but usually when I wake up,

  149. I feel troubled and I'll pray. I will pray at

  150. such early timings, so it's so quiet as no one

  151. else because I feel deeply troubled. That's for me, and

  152. I believe for many of you who have woken up

  153. at three or four am to pray before, who have

  154. experienced the same thing. Based on people I talk to

  155. so far, it has been the same thing that we

  156. feel deeply troubled. Now. Jesus did the same thing. He

  157. woke up after day of successful ministry. He woke up

  158. a tree or thereabouts to pray. But the Bible, of

  159. course then say what he prayed about. But it's quite interesting.

  160. I want you to notice what happens after, okay, because

  161. the prayer that time of prayer shifted something. And want

  162. us to pay attention to this. Okay, So verse the

  163. the six. Okay, So this is after Jesus has prayed.

  164. I have prayed, and Simon and those who were with

  165. Jesus search for him. When they found him, they said

  166. to him, everyone is looking for you. Wow, what a

  167. successful minister. Everyone is looking for Jesus. Everyone is looking

  168. for Josiah. I think about that for a moment, Sharon.

  169. Everyone is looking for you, Joel and everyone is looking

  170. for you. Christina, everyone is looking for you. Hey, imagine

  171. that for those of us who are Christians. Wow, everyone

  172. is looking for me to pray for them. They're hungry. Amazing, right,

  173. isn't that a true mark of a believer. But hang

  174. on there verse thirty eight. But Jesus say to them,

  175. a funny thing. Let us go into the next towns

  176. while people are all outside waiting. The whole town is there.

  177. Jesus said, let us go into the next towns that

  178. I may preach there also because for these purpose I

  179. have come for. Now you can put that slight. Just now.

  180. I highlighted that for these purpose I have come forth.

  181. And he was preaching in the synagogue rug Galilee and

  182. casting out demons. Now hang on day one of really

  183. whole town. There so many salvations, healings and deliverance. Day

  184. two is about to happen. Everyone is still hungry and ready.

  185. But then Jesus goes, Nope, Jesus, ever, I'm looking for you. No,

  186. I don't care. What can you imagine? Simon Peters and

  187. Peter is very prescious. Huh Jesus, what you're talking? Are

  188. you sure? People are waiting for you to go? And minister?

  189. And Jesus, I can't imagine. Jesus, Nope, we're going. We're leaving.

  190. Something must have happened when he was praying that caused

  191. him to go. Yes, full day of ministry, second day,

  192. getting ready. Everyone is hungry for God. But no, I'm leaving.

  193. Funny right, I don't think any of us here naturally

  194. would do that. We will continue, minister, because their needs.

  195. Everyone is looking for more of God. What caused Jesus

  196. to go? Nope, we're leaving while people waited. Something must

  197. have happened there. I really believe allow me the license

  198. to imagine this a bit, all right? That we have

  199. said that when we wake up at tree and pray,

  200. it's usually when we are borthered. So imagine for a

  201. moment that maybe Jesus was also bothered after a full

  202. day of successful ministry, or he was bothered, which leads

  203. me to think to challenge myself to think about the

  204. very idea of success. What does it mean to be

  205. a successful church, a successful disciple, a successful minister. Because

  206. Jesus was bothered, he did everything that what the world,

  207. what all of us would think in success. But yet

  208. he's saying, no, I'm not staying here. I'm going I'm leaving,

  209. even though they even though they two was there getting

  210. ready for Jesus to minister. He had what everyone would

  211. have described on day one as a winning day. But

  212. yet he woke up early, probably something on his heart,

  213. to pray and seek the Father. And then he responded

  214. to Peter, Nope, we're going elsewhere. You see, Peter said,

  215. everyone was looking for Jesus. Isn't that good feeling? Is

  216. everyone's looking for you for good reason and live for

  217. good reason, not looking for you for trouble or alah. But

  218. can you imagine everyone looks for you for help? Wow? God,

  219. I'm really leaving out being a believer. But you see,

  220. if we just go by what everyone was looking for,

  221. we will be pressured into doing things they want, doing

  222. the things that they want, and that is the danger

  223. sometimes as Christians, Yes, we ought to love people, but

  224. sometimes we get swept up by expectations and demands of

  225. people and we forget about God. That God says in

  226. a sea of needs, which is the need that God

  227. wants you to meet. We talk about our mission statement

  228. to make disciples that make the difference, not just a

  229. difference that anybody can make, but the difference. Give you

  230. a picture, and this was what we read in the

  231. Experience Book recently for homes. Imagine there are two needs

  232. one need. Recently we don't person who have no source

  233. of income and no money versus an organization that's raising

  234. funds to help an orphanage. We write that in the

  235. Experience book, right, which do you give two? I'm not

  236. saying that any of it is both. I'm not saying

  237. any of it is not important. But it's these decisions

  238. that we need to seek the Lord Lord. Where should

  239. this money go that will help the most, that will

  240. help where you want to help? And as Christians, especially

  241. for leadership, especially for those of us here who are

  242. serving out, I can tell you, especially if we serve communities.

  243. We serve people. Their needs are there every time. But

  244. who do you care for first? And I tell you

  245. for me? Many times I really have to ask a

  246. holy Spirit. There's so many people to meet. Lord, who

  247. should I meet first? Which one is urgent? Which one

  248. needs a rama word from you that you want me

  249. to deliver. Sometimes we are so step up by needs,

  250. we just go one thing to the other, but we

  251. forget that the most important thing is that you need

  252. to see seek the Lord first, and that was what

  253. Jesus did. Jesus before the second ad ministry. The needs

  254. are already there, but yet Jesus went to a solitary

  255. place nobody can find him, took a while from the

  256. disciples of finding. He went into pray, and I can't

  257. imagine the prayer. God, is this what you want me

  258. to do? If not, how else would he know that

  259. he has to go to another town. I really believe

  260. it is in that pray that he received direction from

  261. the Lord. No. I know this has been a what

  262. looks like success, but I want you to go elsewhere,

  263. and that was what Jesus did. So believe us. Why

  264. I do I share this, my fellow dear brothers and

  265. sisters in Christ. When we leave out our life as Christians,

  266. we can appear to do all the right things. But

  267. my question is is that what God wants you to do?

  268. And I have to confess as a leader some last

  269. time when I wasn't as I'm still learning when I

  270. I'm still learning now. But back then, when I was

  271. a much younger leader, I would immediately put on a

  272. lands of people who skip church. I have a subconscious

  273. attendance sheet in my head. Does a means church again?

  274. Begslide late for homes two times in a row? This

  275. person needs Jesus more. If you're not careful, we will

  276. have that right now. I'm not just saying just leaders

  277. are sometimes all those of us regular in church. Sometimes

  278. we may if you're not careful. There's the kind of

  279. maintrix that we put in terms of seeing whether a

  280. person is a good Christian or not. But based on

  281. what you guys share just now, what is the true

  282. image of Christian? You guys didn't mention any of that.

  283. So if you really dig a little deeper and think

  284. a little deeper, you will start to realize, Hey, how

  285. we feel success has to change. Really, it's not just

  286. performance based you know, it should be relationship based. When

  287. we see someone in church, the way we put on

  288. our lands should be, hey, is this person drawing near

  289. to God? And then the follow up question would probably be,

  290. how can I help this person draw near her where

  291. he or she is at? And that's suddenly it's not

  292. about church attendance. Ready, you will realize, suddenly it's not

  293. about all the things that you would think is subconsciously

  294. on the surface level is important, because we are it's

  295. about discipleship. And that's what extra really believes in meeting

  296. people where there at and bringing them along towards Jesus. Right.

  297. And I think if Jesus didn't seek the God the

  298. Father that night, he will probably go on into the

  299. second day of ministry law the whole town or the

  300. whole growl of people waiting for him law. But yet

  301. he did something counter natural, right, counter culture where yes,

  302. great first day, second day suppose to happened, but nope,

  303. I'm going to the next town. And you know what,

  304. I really believe him being where Jesus, him being where

  305. God the Father wants Jesus to be. He was effective

  306. in his second day of ministry where he went. So

  307. are we hearing God's voice daily on what he wants

  308. us to do. Are we hearing God's voice daily on

  309. what we should or we should not do, or we're

  310. just going by routine or what we think is right

  311. or what others perceive as right. There's something that's very important.

  312. What's the image of success of a believer? What makes

  313. a successful Christian in God's side? See, Jesus wasn't concerned

  314. with the crowd or what they think. Jesus was more

  315. concerned with the reason he was there. He was there

  316. because God the Father says so, So I'll be here.

  317. If God the Father said no, I will move on,

  318. even if everybody else thinks it's a great idea. We

  319. need to learn to live by the spirit, because if

  320. we don't listen to the Holy Spirit, we don't listen

  321. to God. We will live by pressure, by the demands

  322. of the world. We will leave by what everybody wants. Oh,

  323. I think this this area, we need to we need

  324. help to support this area. If we don't pray, we

  325. will go Apollo. See good idea. Then next thing you know,

  326. you're you're trying to hit everything because everything is a

  327. good idea? Or is it what God wants for you?

  328. Is it what God wants for you? That's very important

  329. for us to question and ask is this what the

  330. Lord wants? Because you see, if if you're not careful,

  331. right like for example, if we stop we keep having

  332. the lends of church attendance, is it's gonna define whether

  333. a person is a group Christian or not? Then two layers,

  334. the leaders will always feel pressure or are your church

  335. attendance drop we are filled? I don't think that's a

  336. very good matrixer or as believers, when we come to

  337. church we miss churche one time because maybe we're sick.

  338. We feel like we are a failed Christian. I a

  339. miss Sunday service. I'm a horrible Christian. So then what

  340. happens is that you'll be it will become a performance

  341. because you'll be pressured to perform, to hit the attendance

  342. every time. But I don't think that's how That's what

  343. God wants for us, all right. I don't think that's

  344. what God wants for us. So we got to be

  345. very careful. We got to live by the spirit and

  346. by the spirit, meaning we got to listen to what God,

  347. what God says, and not just look at what everybody's

  348. doing and follow along. All right, Okay, we're gonna move on.

  349. My second point. I only have two points and a

  350. long conclusion. Second point is this. Look chapter seven, verse

  351. twenty to twenty eight. I want to flip open and

  352. I'm gonna go through this quite quickly. But at some

  353. point I will ill market and want you to mark

  354. that as well. Look chapter seven, verse twenty to twenty eight.

  355. If you're there, say I'm there. If you're not there,

  356. say wait for me. Okay, waiting, wait, wait, wait wait, okay, good, okay,

  357. let's read Luke. Chapter seven, verse twenty eight. This one

  358. I'm reading from the NLT translation. John's two disciples found

  359. Jesus and said to him, John the Baptist Saders, to us,

  360. are you the Messiah we've been expecting? Or should we

  361. keep looking for someone else. At the very time, Jesus

  362. killed many people of the diseases, illnesses, and evil spirits,

  363. and he resorts sight to many who were blind. Then

  364. he told John's disciples go back to John and tell

  365. him what you have seen and heard. The blind seed,

  366. the lame walked, those with leprosy are cured the death.

  367. Here the date that I raised the life, and the

  368. good news is being preached to the poor, and he added,

  369. God blesses those who do not fall away because of me.

  370. After John's disciples left, Jesus began talking about him to

  371. the crowds. What kind of man do you go into

  372. the wilderness to see? Was he a week read straight

  373. by every breath of wind? Or were you expecting to

  374. see a man dressed in expects and save clothes. No,

  375. people who wear beautiful clothes and live in luxury are

  376. found in palaces. Were you looking for a prophet? Yes,

  377. and he's more than a prophet. John is a man

  378. to hone. The scriptures refer when they say, look, I

  379. am sending my messenger ahead of you, and he will

  380. prepare your way before you. I tell you, of all

  381. who have ever lived, none is greater than John. Yet

  382. even the least person in the King of Heaven is greater

  383. than he is. I want you to Earmouk. The partner says,

  384. what kind of man did you go into the wilderness

  385. to see? Now? John? At this point, if we were

  386. leaving at that time, we'll probably go John, that's the man.

  387. Successful minister. So many followers baptizing people left right center.

  388. The whole river field with people being baptized. John is

  389. the man. John is the man. So but the amazing

  390. thing you see? When John's messengers left Jesus, Jesus addressed

  391. the crowds that were with him. He said, who are

  392. you expecting to see when you go into the wilderness?

  393. Funny question to ask John is in a word, in

  394. the wilderness. So he asked the multitudes, who are you

  395. expecting to see? That leads me to believe that actually

  396. different people may have different expectations of who John should be.

  397. John must be the greatest preacher of our greatest ministers,

  398. and greatest minister must carry themselves a certain way. And

  399. you see the next question Jesus asked us, are you

  400. expecting to see a week read? You know as a

  401. read l la, every small gass of winning moves. It

  402. looks great in the bunch when the wind blows, But

  403. he has no backboneler in a sense, right, and anything

  404. that goes goes. So yeah, some of you are swaying

  405. with me. Very good, right, So Jesus Us ask them

  406. this question? What a weird question to ask about John?

  407. Do you see John the Baptist as a weak Read

  408. that again, leads me to believe that people are having

  409. different expectations of who John should be. Why did you

  410. just ask that question? And then he follow up the

  411. question by asking are you expect expecting to see someone

  412. who has very expensive clothes? Maybe that was the image

  413. of success that people back then have towards a successful minister,

  414. or they have to be of high status, God's God's

  415. messenger man. And back then you have to know that

  416. the society back then is highly religious, okay, so they

  417. view ministers, they view religious leaders very, very highly. So

  418. their expectation probably for John the Baptist is like, hey,

  419. he must be a statue carry himself. Well, right, But

  420. if you read the Bible, you would know that John

  421. the Baptists never wore expensive clothes. He wore clothes made

  422. of animal animal hide, so old fashioned, out outdated fashion

  423. of Adam and Eve. But there he was wearing probably

  424. clothes that he made himself out of animal hide. And

  425. you know what he ate no nor buffets, no good food.

  426. He ate locusts and what honey in the wilderness. So

  427. he was questioning the people that go like, hey, are

  428. you sure this is a jump the Baptist that you're

  429. hoping for There's no he's not wearing expensive clothes. You

  430. can fight it in the palace, but not John the Baptists.

  431. And by the way, John the Baptists, it's not gonna

  432. bow do whatever you want him to be. That's what

  433. Jesus was telling them. Because you see, now I want

  434. to flip to John the Baptist. Jesus is actually saying,

  435. John the Baptist is not a reed. Don't expect him

  436. to sway according to what you want him to be. Contacts.

  437. John has been far ahead in ministry longer than Jesus.

  438. Jesus just started his ministry, and John has had many followers.

  439. Many they're talking about hundreds and thousands. Okay, man looks

  440. like a very successful minister. But yet do you know

  441. that this is the same man at the peak of

  442. his ministry that will still send two messengers to Jesus. Hey,

  443. are you the Messiah? If you're the Messiah, please let

  444. me know because I got to prepare the way for you.

  445. Hold on, this is a successful minister talking to someone

  446. who just started ministry. You see, if John the Baptist

  447. was a lank and a read easily sway it, he'd

  448. probably go like, who is this guy competition Jesus coming

  449. to compete with me. I've been in ministry for so long,

  450. I've got so many followers. But yet he was not

  451. a read but a rock because he stood by his

  452. purpose and he will only know his purpose if he's

  453. close to God. He knew his purpose was to prepare

  454. the way for the Lord Scripture, prepare the way for

  455. the Messiah, prepare the way for Jesus. He was to

  456. baptize with water, but Jesus had to baptize with the spirit.

  457. He remembers. He didn't allow popularity. He didn't allow his

  458. mass following. He didn't allow the expectations of those following

  459. him to sway him to think his purpose was otherwise.

  460. Now where I'm getting with this? Why did I ask

  461. about in the beginning? Like why you know, what is

  462. your image of a good Christian? Is? This is your

  463. image of a good Christian determined by what other people think?

  464. Is your image of a good Christian? Determined by what

  465. other churches or even I would there say our church portray.

  466. Why do am I bold enough to say this being

  467. a leader of this church is because you have to

  468. know what makes you a good Christian? It should not

  469. be determined by anyone else, and you will only know

  470. if you seek the Lord daily. And this is my belief.

  471. A truly successful Christian, successful disciple of Jesus is someone

  472. who follows God one step at the time, every step

  473. of the way. The Bible says what in step with

  474. the spirit, meaning to say, when the Holy Spirit moves

  475. one step, you go along. You don't wait for the

  476. hold st brillity goal ten steps and you go like

  477. you wait for me. I graduate from my studies first,

  478. I enjoy college life first. Wait, let me earn my

  479. first million. Then I'll get there. No, the Bible says

  480. what in step with the spirit, And I really believe

  481. that it's the true image of a believer. There walks

  482. in accordance to what the Lord says. God, Oh turn left,

  483. okay okay. If but success looks good, that oh stay stay,

  484. stay life okay okay, okay, then live again okay okay.

  485. God you know best, Lord, your ways are higher, your

  486. thoughts are higher. I follow you. Your will be done, Lord.

  487. I really believe that's a true math of a true

  488. believer of Jesus. Not church attendance, not how many times

  489. your serf not how well you present yourself, not how

  490. I even there says say this, not even how many

  491. people you pray for and God here, a true believer

  492. is marked by their following of Jesus, one step at

  493. a time wherever the Lord. If God, you're leading me

  494. to somewhere that is not going to be even if

  495. I pray for someone in that person is not healed.

  496. But Lord, you let me hear I'm just gonna obey.

  497. Doesn't mean I'm a failed believer. I think it is.

  498. On the contrary, you're following the Lord. That's the true mark.

  499. And that was what John the Baptist was doing. He

  500. wasn't sweet, he was He stopped to his mission and

  501. his vision and his purpose. So do we know our mission,

  502. vision and our purpose? Do we know what the Lord

  503. wants us to do today? Do we know what the

  504. Lord wants us to do in our marketplace? Again? If

  505. God send you to that officer, I want to tell

  506. you there's a divine reason there. It's not for you

  507. to earn MOLLA one and get promotion. Great, but there

  508. is always divine reasons to where He places you. You

  509. heard my gym story. It was not by coincidence. I

  510. go to the gym and I get to share the

  511. Gospel with someone there is wherever you are, there's always

  512. a reason God sends you there, and seek the lot

  513. for that reason. Therein you will find your purpose. Daring

  514. you will understand what is the mission that God is

  515. sending you for. And I'm going to close by sharing this.

  516. Why I talk about John the Baptists not being swayed

  517. by popularity, not being swayed by the demands or expectations

  518. of people. He's stuck true to this course. Why I

  519. share this is it's very important for us to remember

  520. heroes of the of all like this because we are

  521. living in a time today where the world expects Christians

  522. to operate a certain way. The world expects Christians of

  523. the ever loving God to love everyone and to be

  524. all inclusive. This is the way I am. You're supposed

  525. to love me for who I am. I can be

  526. whoever I want to be, and you're supposed to love

  527. me for who I want to be. That's what the

  528. world is expecting of Christians today. That's their image of Christianity.

  529. But you know the true image of Christianity is what

  530. is this God wants us to live by truth, and

  531. that command to live by truth is actually came out

  532. of love because when we bring truth, truth sets people free.

  533. They experience and love of God. So, friends, are we

  534. swayed by how the world wants us to be? Are

  535. we swayed by or sometimes even silenced by the world

  536. because I don't want to offend people. The world wants

  537. us to accept the fact they can have their own

  538. version of truth, and we are supposed to just leave

  539. my own version of truth. That's what the world wants.

  540. But is that what the Lord wants for us? The

  541. Lord asked us to go and make disciples of all nations.

  542. Making disciples means delivering God's truth, sharing the Gospel, the

  543. full image of the Gospel, not just hey, you receive Jesus,

  544. then you go to heaven and hell heu Yeah. No,

  545. repent of your sins and you will be forgiven. That's

  546. the gospel. You know. The past three weeks I was struggling.

  547. I have never struggled in my spirit as much as

  548. the past three weeks my whole life. I was deeply

  549. disturbed by the state of the world. Suddenly there was

  550. awakening in spirit, and I certainly had the sensitivity to

  551. just look at the different things that are happening around

  552. the world, and I felt so broken. I felt like, God,

  553. how in the world am I going to continue living

  554. as a Christian in such a state? I saw how?

  555. I mean, you guys know it. I don't need to

  556. talk about the news, right. So many things happened in

  557. the past, man, Governments were overthrown, riots were happening right

  558. a Cerdadin. Something happened in the States that rocked the world.

  559. So many things happened that I just I couldn't sleep.

  560. You know, guys, I could not sleep. I was so

  561. deeply disturbed. And I know that this disturbing wasn't because

  562. something happened to me nothing, But I was just deeply

  563. disturbed by the state of the world that I knew

  564. came from the Lord. I was so disturbed that on

  565. one day I felt I was gonna implode. I really

  566. felt like I was gonna implode. That I had to

  567. go to talk to Pasa Matt in the Church of

  568. a Passa Matt, I didn't talk to you, do you

  569. have time for me? I need some counseling. I went

  570. to him and I share I'm like, oh, man, the

  571. words in such a say I've also broken. How am

  572. I gonna continue to live my faith? I got so

  573. many questions, how am I gonna? Am I ready to

  574. die for my faith? Am I ready if if even

  575. my loved ones disagree with the truth I believe in?

  576. Am I ready to be okay with that? Am I

  577. okay to lose friends those close to me? Am I

  578. really that ready to stand for truth? And the ultimate

  579. question that but me was this is my faith really genuine?

  580. Because it seems like the rubber is hitting the road

  581. when I say, Jesus, I follow you all the way?

  582. Do I really mean what I say even if it

  583. means offending everyone around me by the truth that I

  584. believe in? Wow? I had all those questions in my heart,

  585. and I wrestled so hard. It's almost as if the flaff,

  586. the cushion around my Christian faith has dissolved, and the

  587. whole state of my faith, the real state of my faith,

  588. was brought to light. And God was addressing that Steven,

  589. when you say you follow me all the way? Is

  590. it true? Is it really true? And I had to

  591. confront that reality for the past three weeks, and I wrestled,

  592. I really really wrestled. I had to tell Sharon this.

  593. As I say, Sharon, you gotta give me, you gotta

  594. forgive me if it. There are some days I zone out.

  595. It was that bad because I would just be in

  596. that state of brokenness, so fairly feelings so broken, broken well,

  597. and a broken self because I realized that, man, my

  598. faith is being challenged. But I've come to recognize and

  599. I got the encouragement from passa met He said, Stephen,

  600. it's good that you're going through this address it. Don't

  601. hide it, dig deeper, confronted. And that was what I

  602. did for three weeks. I prayed, I prayed, I saw

  603. the Lord. I prayed, I read the Bible, I prayed,

  604. I saw the Lord. I prayed, I worship and then

  605. the Lord revealed some truth to me. And I'm going

  606. to share this with you, and I'm going to give

  607. a disclaimer. This is going to be heavy, but I

  608. just want to be in full obedience to the Lord

  609. to share this with you all as his messenger. What

  610. the Lord revealed to me is this, there is no

  611. longer room for moderation in our faith, no more room

  612. for being just a nice Christian. We're coming to a

  613. place where the line drawn between the world and God

  614. is getting clearer and clearer. We're getting to a place

  615. where the vision it's happening. What a god, that that

  616. that that is that believes in unity, a God that

  617. is full of love is causing division. I don't think

  618. it's the lot causing it. It's what Seine has brought forth. Yes,

  619. it is prophesy in revelation. When you really you realize

  620. there will come a time there will be a division

  621. between two groups of people, even amongst believers. Scary, but

  622. this was the These were the things that I was

  623. wrestling with. I cannot go like, I love Matthew, Mark

  624. Luke and John, but I ignore revelation. I can't because

  625. when you talk about faith, you got to accept the

  626. full thing. You cannot accept half truth. You got to

  627. accept the full truth. If not, we're just living in delusion.

  628. And Christians sometimes we are very good with that. Do

  629. you know that Satan is working over time right now

  630. to make you feel that everything is okay. It's not.

  631. The past three weeks have revealed to me that everything

  632. is not okay. And if we continue to leave thinking

  633. that everything is okay, the world is going to be happy.

  634. We'll be fine. We are in danger of being strapped away.

  635. That is a distraction, and that is something that will

  636. pull us away from our purpose. The devil is making

  637. us feel comfortable. That's what he wants. Yes, be comfortable. Yes,

  638. everything is okay. Oh, he hasn't touched Malaysia yet. You'll

  639. be fine, Malayious. It's a safe country, freedom of religion.

  640. If you're not careful, we'll be like with the Bible

  641. mentioned about the parable of the virgins that don't have

  642. extra aill when the bridegroom comes, we'll be caught off

  643. God again. A division is happening. I sense this very

  644. heavily in my spirit that I have never sensed before,

  645. in a form of urgency that I have not sends before.

  646. And this is my heart. I hope you guys will

  647. forgive me for sharing this, but I'm sharing my heart

  648. and I felt that as someone who is shepherding you

  649. in Xbu, I have to tell you the truth. I

  650. cannot pretend like everything is okay because it's not the

  651. state of the world. It's not and we have to

  652. be on guard. And why do I put the title

  653. across the line, Because there's no longer room for us

  654. to stand at the center of the line. It's coming

  655. a time where we have to pick a side. Are

  656. you going to choose God's side? Because I'm going to

  657. tell you this, God's side is going to offend a

  658. lot of people. Look at Jesus, you offend all the

  659. religious leaders of the time. God's side is going to

  660. cost you to maybe even lose friends. God's side is

  661. going to cost you to be unpopular. Are you okay

  662. with that? I have to address that for myself. And

  663. I'm saying in the process of working it out, being

  664. very honest and vulnerable here, I want to look at

  665. us to look at the final bit of scripture, and

  666. we're close Revelation three fifteen to nineteen, and I'm going

  667. to read this to us. I know all the things

  668. you do that you're needed the hot no hole. This

  669. is what God is saying to one of the churches

  670. in the bo Revelation. I know all the things you

  671. do that you're neither hot knock hole. I wish that

  672. you will want all the other. But since you are

  673. like loop warm water need a hot knock hole, I

  674. will spit you out of my mouth. You say, I

  675. am rich, I have everything I want. Guys, don't be

  676. deceived by the comforts of this world. This is what

  677. the Lord is warning you. Say. I am rich, I

  678. have everything I want. I don't need a thing, and

  679. you don't realize that you are wretched and miserable and

  680. pull and blind and naked. So I advise you to

  681. buy gold from me, gold that has been purified by fire,

  682. and we know goal is not material wealth that God

  683. is talking about. Then you will be rich also by

  684. white garments from Me, so you will not be shamed

  685. by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you'll

  686. be able to see Verse nineteen. I want you to

  687. pay attention to this. I correct and discipline everyone I love,

  688. So be diligion and turn from your indifference. One of

  689. the things that's happening to the church today is that

  690. we're being indifferent. We have our own image of everything

  691. is okay, God is good, and what happens is that

  692. we're jaded and we're indifferent to what is really happening

  693. in the world. We're not seeing the broken world. We're

  694. not seeing that this broken world needs Jesus, and this

  695. broken world needs us to bring Jesus in. So we

  696. have this fun holy party at church every Sunday. This

  697. warning in Revelation is happening to our church today all

  698. around the world in difference. So friends, don't be indifferent.

  699. I want to challenge you if any point last time,

  700. whenever I feel something bugging my heart, on my spirit,

  701. I was just like I had this to just distracting

  702. me from ministry. God removing, removing lot this feeling of

  703. this comfort, this eek feeling when I witness something, observed

  704. something Lord is distracting me from ministry, take it away.

  705. But I've come to realize that God wants us to

  706. address this and confronted and acknowledged our hearts feeling disturbed.

  707. That is you got to ask the Lord, Lord, is

  708. this from you? And if it's from the law, I

  709. want to tell you it's Holy Spirit one thing to

  710. bring you somewhere, because I've come to a point where

  711. I have to address this discomfort in my heart. And

  712. it is true that that my faith, the real condition

  713. of my faith is brought to light. So friends, I

  714. also want to challenge you if you ever felt like this,

  715. there is an uncomfortable feeling of comfort. Huh, why do

  716. I feel something funny even though everything is okay? Why

  717. do I feel a little bit uneasy. I want you

  718. to encourage you to dig deeper and find out where

  719. that is coming from. Question it, confronted those super under

  720. cupboard and pretend that it's not there, because that's what

  721. will cause you to be indifferent. That's what exactly the

  722. enemy wants you to do. Confronted again. For many of us,

  723. agency are confrontation is not natural. We hih, we pretend,

  724. But don't pretend anymore when it comes to matters of

  725. the faith and tress. Ask yourself the hard questions. God,

  726. do I really really really love you? Or are their

  727. idols in my life? Do I treasure comfort more than

  728. what you want me to do? Lord, you got a

  729. question that because we are coming to a place that

  730. you cannot stand in the middle. I'm telling you the

  731. world will come to a place where it will force

  732. you to pick a side. You won't be able to

  733. choose to stay in the middle. Staying in the middle

  734. means you are off the world, and even more so,

  735. the world will lose respect. I'm telling you because they

  736. will question you this. Imagine this someone comes to you, Hey,

  737. do you accept me for who I am? Let's say

  738. the person is practicing something that is unbiblical. And if

  739. you go like, yeah, God loves you, and then the

  740. person's follow up because I'm telling you they're going to

  741. say this, but the Bible tells you that what I'm

  742. doing is wrong. What will your response be? You're stuck,

  743. So which side would you choose? These are very real

  744. conversations that are happening every day everywhere, maybe in Malaysia

  745. not as much. But do not be deceived, my friends.

  746. We are coming to a point where we have to

  747. pick a side, and if you're not ready for it,

  748. we'll be caught off. God, I want to challenge you

  749. address things of the faith, things of your heart that

  750. are disturbing you. God, am I supposed to be discomfortable?

  751. I'm telling you when you start being comfortable, I've learned

  752. that for myself, and I start becoming comfortable, there will

  753. be a sense of uneasiness that comes to my heart.

  754. And many times it's so damning to just ignore it.

  755. But I've learned to address it and go like, God,

  756. is it time for me to do something rare the cooking,

  757. And most of the times when I address that, God

  758. will say yes, time to practice your faith, time to

  759. do something that's very uncomfortable for you. Time to go

  760. out of your comfort zone. For friends, I don't know

  761. if there's a word for you, but this is the

  762. word that God has asked me to deliver. It's a

  763. scary word. It's heavy, but I want to end with

  764. John ten then and just now. It was something that

  765. was shared I was I was preaching in ex That's

  766. why I came in a bit late. I was on circuit.

  767. I appreciate XPJA and rushed over XPJ. Josephin called the assistancy.

  768. BC prophesied this John ten ten, for the thief has

  769. come to still kill and destroy, but I, meaning Jesus,

  770. have come to give you life and life abundantly. I

  771. want to share this truth if you want to prophesy

  772. this over you. The thief has come to cause a

  773. lot of things, distractions, to steal, destructions, to cause you

  774. to kill, distructions, It caused you to destroy. But Jesus

  775. has come to give you life, and not just alive,

  776. any life, but an abundant life. And this is the truth.

  777. And I've shared this before. Abundant life does not mean

  778. material wealth and comfort. Abundant life does not mean that

  779. everything is okay, and you are excused from problems of

  780. the world. Abundant life is this that you go through

  781. the mountains and the valleys with God. That you don't

  782. just go through good times, but you go through bad times.

  783. But it is in the bad time that we will

  784. learn to see the love of God, the mercies of God,

  785. the grace of God. How are you going to understand

  786. happiness if you've never understood sorrow? How are you going

  787. to experience true togetherness and companionship if you've never experienced loneliness?

  788. You can only experience the full extent of it when

  789. you go through difficult times. I'm not saying I f

  790. I'm trouble for yourself, but know this, when you follow Jesus,

  791. there's going to be trouble. And what I'm imploring is

  792. that don't shy away from that trouble. Go through it,

  793. confront it, go through it with God, and you will

  794. experience abundant life. Many of you here have gone through

  795. really difficult times and when the Lord delivered you don't

  796. didn't you feel like you are having an abundant life?

  797. Think about it, Think about it, and it is true

  798. living the abundant life that you will live out your purpose.

  799. Some of you here seeking purpose. I'm telling you the

  800. purpose lies in this comfort. Purpose lies in areas that

  801. are attorney. You want to find your purpose, you gotta

  802. go through it. You got to confront it, because if

  803. the Lord is leading you to do so, Follow true,

  804. then you will find purpose. Follow true, even though it's

  805. difficult and uncomfortable. Follow true. I had to go through

  806. that for three weeks, immense, immense discomfort. I was down

  807. every day, so down, so down. I question my calling,

  808. I questioned my own faith. Am I really a true

  809. follower Jesus? I have to question all of that and

  810. come to a point like, Lord, I need you to

  811. help me in my unbelief. Lord, I'm weak, I'm small. Lord,

  812. I need you one final truth. Do you know that

  813. today's age, where information is readily available everywhere, do you

  814. know that knowing the whole Bible is not going to

  815. cut it? Because I want to tell you something that

  816. the devil knows the Bible cover to cover. But it's

  817. the devil. Follow up, Jesus. No, in such a time

  818. as days, where everything seems to be the right thing

  819. to do, do you know what is the discerning? What

  820. is one thing that will help you discern the Holy Spirit.

  821. The Holy Spirit is going to cause the logo's word

  822. to have ramma for you, because everybody can quote scripture,

  823. even if there's an unbelievers. That's what they caught every

  824. day towards Christians, and many of them are better than

  825. us actually knowing the scriptures. But what will help you discern?

  826. You have to depend on the Holy Spirit every day.

  827. Every day I find myself wickingum a lort. I need

  828. you to lead me in the decisions that I make,

  829. the things I agree to and the things I disagree to.

  830. Lord help me. Only you can show me what this

  831. right in your site, because the whole word is trying

  832. to tell me what is right and what is wrong.

  833. Everything I see social media, post news articles, things I read,

  834. even programs I watch on Netflix or other dramas are

  835. trying to propagate what is right and what is wrong.

  836. Constantly bombarded. But Lord, help me to see through all

  837. of that confusion and find truth. And I need your

  838. Holy Spirit. We need the Holy Spirit. It's not just

  839. about knowing the Word, It's about knowing God. Amen. I'm
