You're listening to a message to go from Acts Church.
-
We hope this message will light up your tea.
-
Why is it important that we should emphasize on missions. Well,
-
we're not doing anything that Jesus did not do himself.
-
We are not doing anything different than what the Lord
-
meant for us. And you know, Jesus says this in
-
Acts chapter one, verse eight. It's not there on the screen,
-
but you know. But you shall receive power, whether the
-
Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be
-
witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria,
-
and to the end of the earth. I like doing
-
that because you see, when you know, can I read
-
my book, I don't imagine Jesus as my voice becomes weak,
-
becomes thin, no impact. But when I read the words
-
of Jesus, I imagine he's got this, oh, this kind
-
of voice that will just encourage you. And you know,
-
it's a voice of strength and you can just fall
-
into this voice and be comforted. So you know. But
-
of course, no any what his actual voice is, because
-
I have not heard his actual voice. When I hear
-
his actual voice, you will no longer be seeing me,
-
all right, So anyway, praise the Lord. Let's see what
-
scripture has for us today. Reading from one Corinthians two
-
was one and it says, and I, brethren, when I
-
came to you, did not come with excellence or speech
-
of wisdom, declaring to you the testimony of God, for
-
I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus
-
Christ and him crucified. Jesus came because he went. I mean,
-
we always missed the simple words. Right do we take
-
into consideration those little words Paul was saying, I came
-
to you. Why could Paul say I came to you
-
because he went on? Is as simple as that He
-
got up out of bed and he went. You know
-
the thing about this is we think that missions is
-
something so great that we can't do it. Let me
-
tell you this. If you get out of bed every morning,
-
you're a missionary. The only time you and I are
-
not involved in missions is when we're stuck in bed.
-
And you know what I just read. When I just
-
read Acts, What did Jesus say you shall be witnesses
-
of me in juh Erusalem? Where's Jerusalem the place where
-
people sleep? Where Islam the place where they were? And
-
then he says and not just where you are, but
-
then you will spread out. The next place would be Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
-
Judaea in all Samaria. That's the place that nobody knows
-
you wanted to go to. So you will be going
-
to places where maybe you don't want to go to.
-
And then it says to the whole world. I got
-
to tell you this. If you can get up out
-
of bed, you can be a missionary. And you think
-
to yourself, oh, I can't do this, you know, have
-
you seen a stone drop in a pond? What happens?
-
Please forgive my phone. I got a new phone, and
-
I quite haven't learned how to shut all these noises off.
-
All right. I thought I've put it on silent, which
-
I checked before I came up, and it's still making noise. Okay.
-
So when you drop a stone in the water, what happens?
-
There's a ripple? And where does the ripple start from
-
where you drop and then it begins to spread out?
-
Is do you have you ever seen anything specially where
-
you drop the stone and then a little bit from
-
the stone there's nothing, and then suddenly a ripple pops
-
out in the middle, and then it starts. Does it
-
work that way? No, it simply means that you and
-
I can do it. You and I can do it.
-
You know, I never wanted to share. I felt very
-
small about sharing about missions because I felt my age,
-
my goodness, I haven't gone anywhere. So last year, I,
-
you know, told past Sendra okay, the time has come
-
for me to go for missions. And since the first
-
time I'm going for missions, I'm not going to go
-
to some place in Militia, some small place nearby. Easy,
-
I said, I'll go to lake Tuba. Then she said,
-
thank you very much, but I don't think I want
-
to send you at your age to Lake Toba, so
-
I'll send you to Becassi. Little on I found lake Tuba.
-
From where they are, they have to drive five hours
-
on rough road. Most of the time the people going
-
in that road are throwing up because the road is
-
so rough, it's so muddy, it's so that's how difficult
-
it was. Thank God, my back would have been crying,
-
all right, But they sent me to Bakassi. When you
-
go for missions, you will realize something God can and
-
will use you, you see, because it's not about you.
-
It's never been about you. What does Paul say? I
-
determined to know nothing except Jesus Gosh. Going to Bakassi
-
was quite an eye opener. You and I we live
-
in a nice house, and we always complain our house
-
is not nice enough. True not. Don't put up your heads.
-
Let me tell you what are the kind of houses
-
that I saw people live in in Bakassi. There's a
-
guy who's pulling his family in a wooden cart. The
-
wooden cart is less than two feet wide, so it's
-
about so white, it's about two and a half feet deep,
-
and it's about three feet long, and he pulls his
-
wife and his child. That is his house. It's amazing
-
people are living like that. We went to give food.
-
We packed food and we went to give it to
-
the poor. We packed once, we went in the night,
-
once we went in the afternoon. We packed about one
-
hundred packets of food. So we go out to distribute it.
-
How long do you think it It took for us
-
to distribute the food less than five minutes. Everything, God,
-
and you see these people with such joy on their
-
face to receive a meal. Guys, when you go for missions,
-
you can help somebody in a way you never thought possible. Ah,
-
what can I do? You can make yourself available. I mean,
-
there's another place we went, Okay, and it was a
-
big dirty drain where all the dirty water from the
-
whole neighborhood goes into the drain, and these guys are
-
fishing in it. You know what they're catching, You know,
-
the bandaraya. You know it's bandaraya. Bandarai is a sucker fish,
-
that awful sucker fish you put in your You put
-
one fish in the pond to eat all the algae,
-
and then when it grows to big, you take and
-
throw it in the drain. Right, they're catching them, and
-
then they cut it open and they squeeze out the
-
eggs and they sell the eggs. When you see the
-
water from which that fish came from, how on earth
-
can you eat the eggs? But you see, these people
-
are so poor. But do you know that they receive cheesus.
-
I mean Pastor France. This is quite an amazing man.
-
Everybody in the neighborhood knows him, All the poor people.
-
You will say, I'm going to see you in Churchen Sunday, right, yeah,
-
yea ye, don't you. But you see he doesn't stop
-
asking what difference can you make? You know, one of
-
the scariest things for me was to speak Bahassa kabila
-
cyber chuck up dabas Malaysia somewhere on Karana Basa side
-
a particary the buko Bukan's chara or chad okay. Do
-
you understand what I said? So my friends used to
-
laugh at me because the way I speak Malay is
-
like textbook. So I stopped speaking. It's been years since
-
I spoke, years, So I thought, when I go to Bakassi,
-
I'll keep my mouth shut. I'm the new kid on
-
the block, sixty three years old. But never mind, I'm
-
the new kid on the block. The others all experience going.
-
So I thought, no, I'll keep quiet. I won't say anything.
-
I'll go and I'll follow their lead. Whatever they say,
-
I learn from it. Let me tell you, when you
-
go on missions, God will use you in ways is
-
you never thought possible. So we went house visitation. We
-
went from house to house, sharing with people, talking with people.
-
So as they're telling the story in Basa, Indonesia, I'm
-
trying to pick up here and they're here and there.
-
I don't know whether I got the whole story or not,
-
but I keep quiet that you know, I was with
-
Elder Rose. Elder Rose is, you know, genius when it
-
comes to speaking BASAs. But she's a genius nevertheless. But
-
when it comes to basa, you know, she's the go
-
to person. But you want to know something, The Lord
-
put prophetic words and I apologize, okay, uh yeah, So anyway,
-
prophetic words and I spoke it in basa and I'm
-
I'm listening to these words come out of my mouth
-
and I'm saying, where are you're getting this from? It's
-
so fluent. It's just come now. God will use you
-
because you made yourself available. There was one family they
-
were about to lose their house. We went there to
-
share with them. They were so poor that there was
-
no more electricity. Okay, cut, electricity is cut in the house.
-
And we go there and then they're telling us we
-
were once very successful in the business man now because
-
of the pandemic, we've lost everything. And now they're going
-
to take away the house and we've got a few
-
more days and then they're going to kick us out.
-
And then the word of the Lord came and I
-
shared with them, you know the word, and I said,
-
you don't have to worry about this I'm saying all
-
these things in basa. You know that I never knew
-
I could say. So I'm just telling them, telling them,
-
telling them. One week later, past the France sends us
-
a message, by the way, just to let you know.
-
For reasons that cannot be explained, the bank contacted them
-
and pulled back on the eviction notice and gave them
-
such an easy deal to restart their business and to
-
turn their lives around. All this happened within a few days. Guys,
-
if you don't go, you may not be allowing someone
-
to hear something from the Lord that is going to
-
change their lives or Then came Sunday. Sunday was quite
-
a thing because Sunday I had to share the Word
-
of God in church. I got to tell you I
-
wrote my first time. Actually it's the second time. The
-
first time I wrote my whole message out before I
-
shared it was because it was a really tough message.
-
It was so strong and so hard. I wanted to
-
check with pastors, the pastor have I got this right?
-
So I gave him my whole message. Then he went
-
through the whole thing. He says, go for it. So
-
I had the courage because that was the hardest message
-
I ever shared. But this time I wrote the whole
-
message out. I even timed it ready, timed it, okay,
-
forty five minutes perfect right. Then I put it on
-
chat gibbt and I translated in Basa because I was
-
so afraid that I was going to, you know, not
-
do it. So then came the time. The time came
-
for me to share the word. So I got up
-
to that pulpit and then God said, put the paper aside.
-
Put the paper aside. You gotta understand, all right, I
-
have not spoken by USA in years. I opened my mouth,
-
I started sharing, started sharing. Then someway through the message,
-
I looked at Elder Rose and he said, how am
-
I for time? Am I? Okay? She said, ah, you
-
got another five minutes or so. I should be all right.
-
So I shared, I wrapped up the message. I came
-
down whevery. You know, the people were just soaking the
-
message in. So I asked, so I forty five minutes,
-
no one in a half hours. The message was one
-
and a half hours. I haven't even preached that long
-
in English. But you see, God doesn't need my skill.
-
He needs me to be present. He doesn't need you
-
know how He just needs you to make yourself available. Hey,
-
Paul came because he went so then I was praying
-
to the Lord. Now was asking the Lord. You know,
-
I was kind of shy to go for missions. He said, Terence,
-
you've already been on missions. Say what you mean, say
-
when you went to study in Singapore the two and
-
a half years. What did you do there? Then? I said, oh, yes, Lord,
-
I didn't consider for two and a half years. While
-
I was in Singapore. I was just a new Christian.
-
But you know what I was doing. I was sharing
-
the word of Lord. You guys are so young. Don't
-
be afraid to tell your friends about Jesus. They don't
-
need to accept Christ. Then, then, because I found out
-
that after twenty after twenty five thirty years, a lot
-
of the friends that I shared too, they've become Christians.
-
They build churches, they've become pastors. There are preachers going
-
around the world, and I'm finding out for the first time.
-
And when I link up with them, you know what
-
they say, They remember all the things I used to
-
share with them. You see, because while you think you're
-
not able God things otherwise, I was only a student,
-
right I go to school in the morning. I was
-
living in the church hostel. So morning I'll go to school.
-
I'll go to school around seven in the morning. You
-
know what time I get back almost eight, because after
-
I finished school, I'm coaching the tennis team. I'm you know,
-
very involved in in in the school, I was the
-
hate prefect, doing a lot of stuff. Get home around
-
eight o'clock. God, have my shower, you know, after wash
-
my clothes. Do you know all that? And you know
-
what I do after that? Go to church. Go to
-
church at ten o'clock in the night. You know why,
-
because we are praying for people to be delivered from
-
evil spirits with the pastor praying and praying and praying
-
and seeing people being delivered. And the next morning, of
-
course I have about two three hours sleep because I
-
will go back around three to four in the morning,
-
catch a quick map, actually go back to school and
-
share with my friends all the things that I had
-
seen God do. What is missionary? What is being a missionary?
-
A mission a missionary sharing what you've seen God has done? Guys,
-
it's easy, man. You share this testimony what God has
-
done for Jerome. You mean to say, somebody else is
-
not going to listen and be blessed by it. I mean,
-
how many of you are blessed listening to that testimony today? Why?
-
Because God is real. You can't find what everybody has
-
been seeing all these years. And it's because of those testimonies.
-
I told my friends many years later, they gave their
-
life over to the Lord, and they remember, it's been
-
forty five years. One of my girlfriends, Okay, now, don't
-
get your mind. She's a girl and she's my friend.
-
That's it, no more nor less. Just that she tells
-
me she has never forgotten what I've shared with her,
-
and it has helped her and her friends. What did
-
I share? The enemy cannot touch you unless Jesus says so,
-
And if Jesus says so, it means you can take it,
-
and he's going to take you over. I was getting
-
all this from the Book of Joe, all right. And
-
then she used to tell her friends who were going
-
through trouble this very same thing, and she says it
-
helps so many people. Guys, you will make a difference.
-
I hope you understand that when you go out, God's
-
going to use you. And we are so busy saying, ah,
-
it's not for me Oh, I'm not that good? Hey,
-
whoever said you were good? The other day I was
-
walking and praying. Every time I come in, I share
-
the word that trusts me. I walk for two hours
-
from four to six, praying and asking the Lord to
-
bless you. And one day, while I was walking, this
-
was last week, last week, a week before last, the
-
Lord asked me this question, what's so great about your face?
-
What do you mean by that? Said? Look, you're not
-
that special? What's so great about you? Hasn't it always
-
been about me? This is what the Lord is telling me.
-
So you've seen so many things accomplished because of God,
-
you can't take credit. So when you can't take credit,
-
he becomes very easy. It becomes very easy to do
-
what God tells you to do. Cool. Why you get
-
so upset when the person doesn't accept the Lord because
-
you share with them. I met a man the other day.
-
He came because he wanted to said his child to school.
-
And then after that he said, you know, I'm very
-
very it's very important to me that Christ be in
-
this child. So you've known the Lord for a long time,
-
he says, Well, I studied in a marriae and there were
-
such great people, and they shared with me Christ every day.
-
I used to follow them to church and all that.
-
And I said, you accepted the Christ, accepted Christ. Then
-
he said, no, I refuse to accept Christ. Then how
-
does this change take place? He is one day, this
-
is he already left America for so many years, he's working.
-
Now one day he's walking to catch his train in Korea,
-
and the Lord just speaks into his ear. So and
-
so you're not a Christian? Accept me now. So in
-
the midst of walking to his train, he just says, okay, Lord, Lord,
-
please forgive me. I receive you as Lord and Savior.
-
And he became a Christian that day. So I just
-
told him, praise the Lord. You've encouraged me. You know why,
-
because I thought I was the only one. That's how
-
I became to how I came to the Lord. Four years,
-
I just studied scripture because I wanted to prove my
-
sister wrong. And one day I went to church and
-
the Lord spoke to me and said, Terrence, you're not
-
a Christian except me now, as simple as that, Guys,
-
Paul came because he went so we have to go
-
because if we don't go, when God tells us to go.
-
You know what happens? We become stagnant. Worst case scenario,
-
we go back to where we came from. Look at Peter.
-
What happened when Peter saw that Jesus was brutalized, he
-
rejected or he denied the Lord. Correct, you remember that?
-
And then what happened after that? He went back to fishing. Guys,
-
when we are not doing what God tells us to do,
-
the danger is we go back to where we came from.
-
He became He went from being a fisher of men
-
to a fisherman? Is that where you and I want
-
to be? Do you think we find the blessings in
-
our jobs? Do you think we find ourself worth in
-
our professions? Let me tell you what the Lord means.
-
This one is for you, Okay, this is for all
-
of you, because this is what the Lord ministered to
-
me this morning. So as I was going over the
-
messages of walking my kilometers, you know, early in the morning,
-
and I said, okay, Lord, what what a share we
-
dam And I said, take note of what happened at
-
that seat. So now Peter was fishing after rejecting the Lord.
-
And then what did the Lord say? Throw your ned
-
on his side, and they caught a lot of fish.
-
And then Peter says the Lord, and he jumped into
-
the water, and he went towards Jesus. And what happened
-
When he came to Jesus? There was fish on the fire.
-
Do you think they had stalls that to buy fish from? Hey?
-
If there were stalls to buy fish from and the
-
fish hadn't come yet, okay, because the fishmen were still
-
out there fishing whole night, they didn't catch anything. But
-
when Peter came there was already fish on the fire.
-
So you are worried where your money is coming from,
-
it's on the fire. Are you worried about your job,
-
it's on the fire. Are you worried about whether you've
-
got a partner or whether you'll get a husband or
-
a wife? Guess what it's on the fire. Are you
-
worried about whether or not your room is going to be? Okay?
-
Guess what he's on the fire? Please? Is that when
-
I said you're on the fire, what I mean is
-
breakfast with a lot. It's taken care of. What can
-
you think of when you go back? Always remember this
-
that God's got it on the fire. Our thing is
-
when we're not moving forward. Being stagnant is the same
-
as moving back. So Paul came because he went. We
-
have to go so that we won't remain stagnant. Because
-
Jesus commands us to go. Did Jesus tell us to stay?
-
You just go into the world, not stay in the world.
-
We cannot stay in the world because one day the
-
candle burns on both ends. For me, at least, you
-
know what that means. Jesus is coming soon, I'll go
-
and be with the lot. Or he delays coming and
-
I expire, and I still go and be with the lots.
-
The candle is burning on both ends. But I tell
-
my children, highly likely Jesus will come, maybe not in
-
my lifetime, but certainly in yours. Why do I say that? Okay,
-
that's not my message. But let me just share something
-
with you. The Book of Ezekiel says that the dead
-
sea life will come back to the dead sea, and
-
springs will flow from God's feet and come into the
-
We'll come into that dead sea. Do you know how
-
many of you know that nothing lives in the dead sea.
-
You know where the dead sea is? The dead sea
-
is somewhere in the promised land Israel. Okay, Now that
-
Dead Sea is so salty that if you were diving
-
you cannot sink. So those of you that are not swimmers,
-
that's the place to go. You lie there, you can
-
lie do you just won't sink, you'll float. Guess what
-
happened just recently, not too long ago, some scientists or
-
some divers, or some photographers found that there were pockets
-
of fresh water in the Dead Sea and for the
-
first time fish were there. Is this even possible? And
-
then do you know that there are little streams of
-
fresh water nobody knows where it's coming from, that are
-
beginning to flow into the Red Sea. And Azekial says
-
that this floor water starts like ankle deep, and then
-
it goes to knee deep, waist deep, and then it'll
-
cover Where is this coming from? So the people who
-
are saying this say, could this be an indication of
-
the soon coming of Jesus Christ? Preparation? How many will heard?
-
In Book of Revelations says that Jesus will enter the
-
Holy City from the east gate from the Mount of Olives.
-
I think, well, you know it's in the Book of Revelations.
-
But if you were to go to the Holy land. Now,
-
the east gate has been shut very very early on.
-
The Ottomans were afraid of this prophecy. So what they
-
did was they sealed the east gate. They sealed it shut,
-
and then they made graves in front all on the land,
-
because they say no holy man would walk over graves.
-
So they thought that by doing this they had overcome
-
the prophecy. One thing they did not pay attention to
-
that Jesus defeated death and he rose again. So do
-
grace mean anything? No, they don't. Let me tell you
-
what's happening in the world today. Scientists have found that,
-
for some inexplicable reason, the east Gate is beginning to open.
-
They do measurements and they find they cannot explain, but
-
the gate is beginning to open. Could this be an
-
indication of the coming of the Lord? Look at the
-
world today? Scripture says that people be crying peace, peace, peace, peace, peace,
-
And we think, ah, okay, that means the world is
-
at peace. No, the Bible says people will be crying peace, peace, peace, peace.
-
It could be because the world is intermal that they
-
want peace, or could be the world is peaceful. Look
-
at it Duailer. If the world was peaceful, would they
-
be crying for peace? No, the only time you cry
-
for peace is when there's no peace. Right a on.
-
Did you see what happened in Anchorage the other day?
-
Why was the backdrop peace? And that's what the world
-
is crying now. Peace? Peace. Peace. You got to know
-
and believe that Jesus Christ is coming again soon. So
-
when he says to go into the world, what do
-
you tell them? Scripture says, just preach Jesus, Just speak
-
about him, tell others about what's going on in your life.
-
You know, Paul said, I didn't come with excellent speech.
-
I didn't come with You know, if I were to
-
talk to you so eloquently, you might believe because of
-
my words. But let me tell you, if somebody else
-
comes and he speaks better than me, you'll run after
-
those words. So Paul was right when he says, I
-
don't need to come to you in excellent speech. Could
-
Paul have done it? You better believe it. How do
-
we know that he wrote twenty six books in the Bible. Also,
-
he was a scholar. He could have come with excellent speech,
-
but he was determined not too because excellent speech has
-
no place in convicting hearts. It was not a motive
-
to impress. It was not to show superior superiority, is it?
-
It didn't even come in wisdom. You know what's the
-
meaning of the word wisdom? The philosophy. Do you think
-
Paul was preaching a philosophy. I can tell you there's
-
so many philosophers. You can't even remember a single thing
-
that he said. Aristotle was one of the great philosophers
-
of the time. Can any of you remember one single
-
statement he made. Let's not go there, let's talk Confucius.
-
He's quite confusing sometimes when you listen to him. Can
-
you remember anything that he said? No? But can you
-
remember what Jesus said? Yes, I am the Way, the Truth,
-
and the life. No one comes to the Father but
-
through me. Many people around the world can remember that
-
Paul was saying. It's not philosophy, it's not intelligencer because
-
for how intelligent you are, there's someone more intelligent. So
-
there are many intelligent people in the world who say, oh,
-
you can't believe in Jesus because it's all fantasy, it's
-
all in your mind. There's one guy who you all
-
know him. I'm not going to mention his name, who
-
always says, if you can show me one verse in
-
the Bible where Jesus is the son of God, I
-
will believe him. To that guy, I would say this,
-
Do you think I care you believe him or you
-
don't believe him. That's your business. If you recognize that
-
there's such a person as and you have rejected him
-
for whatever reason. Let me tell you what my Bible says.
-
Every nicheall bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ
-
is Lord. So whether you believe or not, I'm not interested.
-
You see, we get caught up in fighting the wrong things.
-
Don't get fired, don't get caught up in useless arguments.
-
The scripture says, don't get caught up in debates. Hey,
-
you got no time for that. You think when I
-
was telling my friends I was debating with them. No,
-
I just told him what God had done. I just
-
shared with them the things that I had seen, and
-
I left it. You know why, because it's not my
-
job to convict them. The Bible says that belongs to
-
the Holy Spirit. It's the Holy Spirit that convicts their hearts,
-
not me. I don't have to convince Hey, I'm telling
-
you you believe, you believe, you don't believe. That's your business.
-
You think I fall to pieces. I'm not interested. We
-
got at the end of the day, we'll both seila.
-
Who's telling the truth? Evidence testimony of God, That's what
-
it is. You have got such great testimonies. How many
-
of you have come to the Lord. You've got such
-
a great story to tell, and you don't tell the story.
-
How sad is that scripture is not telling us when
-
we go and go on missions to talk about things
-
that don't exist. There was one guy I went to
-
his house. Let me tell you their houses. This is
-
the house, the whole house. Okay, there's the whole house,
-
includes bedroom, dining room, toilet, kitchen. Let me see how
-
I can explain it. Okay, uh, maybe this green patch
-
from this wall to this door, or maybe a little
-
bit narrower maybe Okay, this would be the hall and
-
this would be the rest of the house. You know
-
what's the biggest problem I had when I was there.
-
Cannot kneel, cannot squad. When I squat, I have to
-
stretch my leg. Then after two minutes of stretching my leg,
-
people can trip over. I got to pull my leg
-
back and then getting up. I have to struggle to
-
get My biggest problem was getting up and sitting down
-
because you have to do it on the floor. Got
-
no bed in the night. They just pulled the mattress
-
down and they sleep. So that was. We went to
-
one guy's house. This guy had a business where he
-
was fixing motorbikes. You can see a watermark, watermark as
-
high as this. So I asked him, you mean to
-
see a house floods. You say, yes, you go and
-
look out the window. So I look out the window.
-
There's a big drain, a ditch, huge that comes directly
-
to his house. And then it turns and the dirt
-
and rubbish and all that in the drain. He says,
-
whenever it rains, the water comes down and comes straight
-
into his house. He wants to buy that house. You
-
know how much? They want to sell it to him
-
for one hundred and fifty thousand ring it. I don't
-
kid you for an area that's small, one hundred and
-
fifty thousand ring it. So in Bahasa, you know what
-
I prayed? I said, Lord, So he said, don't the
-
authorities want to do anything?
-
Yeah?
-
Yeah, they promise they'll be wanting to do anything for years.
-
You know why they don't do it because the money
-
goes into somebody's pocket. So you gotta forgive me. I
-
am a very very real person. So I prayed. I say, Lord,
-
send these dirty flood water directly into the house of
-
those politicians and spare this guy. Do I believe it
-
will happen. Yes, God can do it, and then you'll
-
find it. He'll do something about the dream. If you
-
think God is not able to do that, let me
-
just tell you. I just want a battle. I took
-
some people to task under the guidance of the Holy Space.
-
It's huge. I got to tell you, the only one
-
in the world serious and I won. I can't tell
-
you what it is, but that's the kind of God reserve.
-
You can be the only person in the world that
-
he can show his power to all those billion dollar companies.
-
So will he send it flood water? I will only
-
know the next time I go, and I will meet
-
this person again. Guys, when you go, you go in
-
the power the Lord is it you? That's why God
-
asked this question. What's so great about your face? Nothing
-
to do with me. It just has to do with him. Ye,
-
you know, I don't think I'm gonna finish this message,
-
but I'm gonna get as far as I supposed to go.
-
So evidence of a divine God. Do you know that
-
Paul was determined to share nothing except Jesus and he
-
says this and him crucified. Do you know what that means?
-
Why on earth would Paul be so determined to share,
-
to know nothing else except Jesus. At the moment of
-
his failure, seeming failure, at the moment where he was brutalized,
-
he was beaten towards an incheon, He's never he's hung
-
hanging on a cross. Hey, guys, do you think that
-
cross was made of nice, fine wooden? The capital made it?
-
He send it good sandpaper, you know, smooth. Hey, it
-
was a splintered cross on a raw back. We can't
-
even take one splinter in our finger. He had those
-
splinters eating into his raw flesh. At that worst moment,
-
Paul is saying, that's who I want to share. You
-
will never be able to capture the heart of people
-
unless you give them hope that no matter how bad
-
the situation is, it can turn around in Jesus. Because
-
that's what actually Paul is saying, my God went through
-
the worst moments for you and for me. He took
-
it all upon himself so you don't have to face it.
-
But let me tell you. Did he stay that way? No,
-
he overcame. I tell you a few stories. How many
-
we remember? There was one Malaysian runner who made it
-
to the Olympics in nineteen sixty eight hurdles can you remember?
-
You can't remember? Well, there was one Malaysian that made
-
it in nineteen sixty eight. He was my friend, okay,
-
I knew him personally and this was his story. When
-
he was younger preparing for the Olympics, somebody came in
-
a car and smashed into his legs. He spent several
-
months in hospital and the doctors say, let alone walk,
-
he will never run again. They were not even believing
-
that he would walk again because so bad was the
-
injury to his legs. But he had a determination that
-
would not stop. So when he eventually got out a hospital,
-
his father helped him his His father was one of
-
the top people in sports in the country and this
-
is how he started his running career again. Over hurdle
-
six inches from the ground one foot by one foot
-
and slowly it came from six inches to one foot
-
one and a half foot two feet until he came
-
to the normal hurdle height. And he practiced. And you know,
-
when you run hurdles, it's one two three leg out,
-
one to three leg out. It's a system. He practiced
-
it like he was a baby. And you know what.
-
He is the only Malaysian to have made it to
-
the finals of the one hundred and ten meter hurdles
-
at the Olympics. The only one. Now, if I were
-
to tell you a story, oh there was a Malaysian
-
who made it to the finals of the one hundred
-
and ten meter hurdles in nineteen sixty eight, you will
-
tell me so what, right, didn't make any difference. But
-
now that you know the whole story, you feel about it.
-
It's amazing. I tell you another one. All these people
-
you don't know unfortunately, because I'm old, right, I only
-
know the old guys and you guys, all I don't know. Okay,
-
how many of you. I can guarantee none of you
-
have heard of this guy. His name is Thomas Muster. Okay,
-
you know he didn't make mustard. He was a tennis player. Okay,
-
how many of you know what tennis is, Okay, do
-
you know what the French Open is? Big tournament? Right?
-
This guy was taking his tennis records out of his
-
car and a drunk driver came and slammed to his car,
-
and his car went backwards and crushed both his legs.
-
This promising career almost ended. But such was the determination
-
of this guy that he started after months, he started practicing.
-
He started practicing, and he won the French Open twice.
-
After that, he also became the most celebrated clay caught
-
tennis player of the time, before Rafa Nadal, So before
-
Raphael Nadal was the king of clay, Thomas Master was
-
the king of clay. And what's the story? He did
-
it after his legs were crushed. So now you have
-
Paul who is talking about Jesus after Jesus was brutalized
-
for you and me, what difference does it make? It
-
makes a huge difference, so much so. And Paul's when
-
Thomas said, I don't believe what's the first Jesus did
-
when he came and came and so hey, Thomas, what's
-
the matter with you coming? See my hands? Feel it?
-
Put your hand in my side? Philip, you okay for
-
my Lord and my God. That was what Thomas responded. Guys,
-
when you talk about your experience, you talk about how
-
difficult things were for you and then God turned it around.
-
You mean to say, somebody is not going to be blessed.
-
You have to go on missions. You have to as
-
I started out in the very beginning, you get out
-
of bed, guess what you're going for? Missions? Missions to
-
your place of work. Missions while you go and catch
-
the bus. Missions and God, you know, you remember the
-
testimony I share the man who just refused to accept
-
the Lord, and he was dying from cancer. And when
-
I heard he was in hospital, I went to see him.
-
Do you remember that? What did I tell the Lord? Lord?
-
What do I share with this guy? He's already rejected you.
-
Then the Lord said, Badminton? Are you okay? Lord? Badminton? Yeah, Badminton.
-
So I went to see him. This man, he is
-
in hospital. You know when I ask him, Hey, I'm
-
sixty four years old, I've got no more timer, I
-
got no more time. So I asked this guy directly,
-
you do know you're dying, right, That's my first question?
-
Would you all ask him that?
-
No?
-
But you say, I'm sixty four years old. I don't
-
care anymore. You do know you're dying, right? Yes? I said,
-
do you like badminton?
-
Oh?
-
Yeah, I like badminton. Great, I said, Jesus was playing badminton,
-
did you. He's already served the shuttle to you when
-
he died in the cross for you. You will see
-
nothing happen in your life until you return it back
-
in faith. Do you want to accept the Lord? Yes,
-
he accepted the Lord. One week later, he tells his niece.
-
You see, the man said I would not accept the
-
Lord until I see him right. But it didn't happen
-
then when he accepted the Lord. One week later, his
-
niece tells me a man appeared in white in his bedroom.
-
Couldn't see the face, but he was gloring, really all white.
-
And this man said, I knew this was Jesus. He
-
came to visit me. I couldn't see the face. A
-
few days later, he says, two men in white came
-
into the room. They had a discussion and then disappeared.
-
So I told the nwe kids, get ready is about
-
to go. A couple of days later, he left, those
-
are the angels, probably preparing for him. Oh is this possible?
-
You gotta listen. You gotta know God will use you
-
even when you think you are not able to be used.
-
Do you know? Paul says, I'm determined to share Jesus
-
and I'll be ending soon. I'm determined to share Jesus
-
and him crucified because nothing compass, nothing compares to Jesus. Guys,
-
when I went to Singapore and I was sharing in
-
my friends, you know how long I had known Jesus.
-
Three months. I've only known Jesus for three months, and
-
I'm just telling what I have seen, what I know.
-
You don't have to be a preacher to share. Let
-
me tell you. The ones who preach up here, they
-
are always shaking. You know why, because if we preach
-
the wrong thing, God's gonna hold us accountable. So you
-
think it's jolly up there, No, it's no, it's a
-
great responsibility. We come. You don't see a niece knocking,
-
But actually the niece are knocking. Okay, the older people
-
the niece cannot knock so well, they had to move
-
like me. No, but this is it. Guys. You were
-
saying that Jerome was saying on you were saying Jerome
-
was singing at the top of his voice, praising the Lord,
-
and you didn't care whether it was on key off key.
-
It was just do you know that when I first
-
became a Christian, I couldn't sing. In fact, it was
-
described this way. You know the black keys and the
-
white keys are those that heard me sing. Say I'm
-
singing in the cracks in between. I couldn't sing, But
-
did it stop me? No? I sang on top of
-
my voice, just like Jerome. In fact, the the song
-
the ministry team leader. So I'll be here singing. I'll
-
be always in the front seat. And then after that,
-
keep quiet. You're throwing everybody off. The music leader is
-
actually telling me to keep quiet because I'm throwing everybody off.
-
Then praise the Lord. The pastor stands up and says,
-
leave him alone, because if he sings like that one day,
-
bring a dead body before his worship and the person
-
will come back to life. I was so encouraged. But
-
you want to know something, The Lord taught me how
-
to sing. You cannot do something doesn't mean you will
-
never do it. But if you're willing to open yourself
-
up to the leading of the Lord and do what
-
he tells you to do. You will be able to
-
do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
