  1. You're listening to a message to go from ex Church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day.

  3. From Isaiah chapter forty three. And I will scheme through

  4. mainly based on this chapter. But I'll bring us back

  5. and forth, all right. I will see how time goes,

  6. and I have until I can't remember eleven fifteen, all right, cool,

  7. I've not been through X many for sometimes so last

  8. year all the time. Because in the live we start

  9. at eleven. So yeah, the timing is different, okay.

  10. Isaiah chapter forty three.

  11. We'll read from from verse eighteen and nineteen first, all right,

  12. and if you're there you can say, oh yeah, yeah,

  13. follow band, and then yeah everyone else there. Yeah, so

  14. you're there already. We shall read this verse together, okay,

  15. and one till entry do not remember the former things,

  16. not consider the things of oh verse nineteen. Behold, I

  17. will do a new thing now it shall spring forth,

  18. shall you not know it? I will even make a

  19. road in the wilderness and reverse in the desert?

  20. Wow? Amen, So you.

  21. Know the verse of these two verses. Here it allows

  22. us to be reminded of God's heart for us, all right,

  23. God's heart for his people and different ones of us

  24. here if you are a follower and a believer of Christ,

  25. he sees us as his own people. And you know,

  26. Verse nineteen says it all forget the former things, all right,

  27. and do not dwell in the past. See what I'm doing,

  28. the new thing that I'm doing, you know, as human beings, right,

  29. it is a very habitual thing for us to ruminate.

  30. And that's the bigger word that people usually use. Psychologists

  31. used as well, to ruminate, But the basic word that

  32. the Bible used is to do well, to think of

  33. it over and over and over again. And what rumination does?

  34. You know? Something can be as small as a mustard seed,

  35. as small as you know, like, hey, God, this is

  36. a slight pain here, and you like thinking and thinking thanking,

  37. you keep ruminating and dirty, and it becomes bigger, right,

  38. and it becomes something that you're like, oh, no, you know,

  39. from master pain or the I a sorry from a pain?

  40. Is it a master pain or a master tire? That

  41. is brain? Or is there a growth there? Is it cancerous?

  42. Or no? Am I at a fourth stage of cancer?

  43. You know, that's how our brain works as human beings.

  44. Uh.

  45. And it tricks us to think, you know, way beyond

  46. what things are supposed to be.

  47. That's what you know, God tells us.

  48. And maybe you know, for us twenty twenty five as

  49. you think bad, as you're done, it's like, oh man,

  50. it's a horrible Yeah, I think twenty twenty sies it

  51. is going to be even worse. Or you know, yeah,

  52. twenty twenty five was really really amazing, and twenty twenty

  53. six it's going to be better. You know.

  54. I like that.

  55. It's faith declaration as well. But you know, God says,

  56. you know, do not just look back at our past,

  57. but look forward and and something which you know, I

  58. want to just encourage us as well. Sometimes we look

  59. back at twenty or twenty five for some you know,

  60. we may not be too happy or too proud of it.

  61. We feel a shame of ourselves, or we feel a

  62. shame and all of the different things that has been happening.

  63. But you know, it's just like encourageous and all God

  64. is here to readeem us, all right, and God will

  65. not just give us a new calendar and every time

  66. we just passed by, every year just passed by, keep

  67. changing a new calendar. Uh now, so it's not so obvious,

  68. but remember, you know, growing up, my grandma, grandpa, my

  69. mom also we have this, okay, my grandma likes to

  70. use the you know every day tear one sheep at

  71. a time one Uh yeah, malayicious.

  72. We call it.

  73. Or my mom likes to use the monthly one. They

  74. call it the horse racing calendar. So that that calendar

  75. it used to come out based on the horse races

  76. in Malaysias or you know, Malaysians can go bad their

  77. money then but that also right, it comes out with

  78. calendar than you know, different homes, usually Chinese homes, I'm

  79. not sure Malay homes or in their normes will have it.

  80. Usually Chinese homes will have that. We got a lot

  81. of businesses. At the end of the year, they actually

  82. give up free calendars.

  83. Uh. So you just take that and hang.

  84. So God does not just give us a new calendar,

  85. but he wants to give us and you'll start as well.

  86. And you know, no one drives a waste like this illustration.

  87. No one drives a car looking backwards. Right, There's no

  88. way you can reach your destination if you keep looking back,

  89. whether you're looking back at the bad or looking back

  90. at the good. There's no way that you know you

  91. can go safely to where you need to be at

  92. all right, So you know I just felt, you know,

  93. even today, God wants to prepare us for a new

  94. work of his in and through our life. I don't

  95. know what that would mean for different ones of us,

  96. but a new work means you know, He's gonna cause

  97. you know, a lot of changes and transformation in our

  98. lives and especially in our hearts. All right, So you

  99. know He will turn every you know, regret you know,

  100. to hope again, every grief you know to rejoicing, and

  101. and every tegnancy you know in twenty twenty five for

  102. you can be your own on life. It could be

  103. your studies, your family, your business and relationships. You know,

  104. God is going to cause a new growth as well. Amen,

  105. all right, So forget the former things, forget the past,

  106. and do not remember it, you know, do not dwell

  107. on it.

  108. Uh you know?

  109. Uh No, I think the only we you know, human beings,

  110. we don't go back to a vomit. Right. I have

  111. I have a pet dog, but sometimes I foster dogs.

  112. Sometimes I help my friends take care of their dogs. So, uh,

  113. as of this weekend, I have four dogs in the house.

  114. I help. So so you know dogs know that the.

  115. Expression I didn't know fully fully understand until the expression

  116. of you know, the dog returning to his own vomit

  117. vomit uh. And and recently my dog had seen some

  118. I guess strike this problem. I believe I didn't bring

  119. her to the vet, but she will warming out her food.

  120. Sometimes they'll eat the wrong thing that they'll vomite it out. Uh.

  121. I remember one morning I was rushing to work. I'm like, okay,

  122. she vomed that. Fine, I gotta leave it there and

  123. come home and clean it up because it's messy and

  124. have no time already. So I went out when not

  125. work and came back and I'm like, hey, where's a

  126. woman totally magically clean up? Then I asked my sister,

  127. do you clean up the warming?

  128. And it's like no.

  129. I realized, okay, my dog could have ate it back.

  130. So I did an assumption that she ate it back,

  131. like all right.

  132. Then uh.

  133. End the night when I was there, she vomited again,

  134. black everything all out. I left it for a while,

  135. so I wanted to see whether my assumption was correct,

  136. so I watched her. Then after that she was feeling

  137. better that she just walked back and everything up. I

  138. was like, oh my goodness, okay, Sophie, you better not

  139. lick my face after this already it's very disgusting. Uh.

  140. And sometimes human beings we do that. We like to

  141. really visit our vomits. I like to consuming, but it's

  142. not nice. But somehow, yeah, naturally we will do that.

  143. But you know what does it mean then? In God's eyes?

  144. You know, when it says forget the former things, do

  145. not do on it. You know what God is saying.

  146. You know, it's not for us to forget the lessons.

  147. You all that God had allowed different situations to happen

  148. in life. You know, thrue every situations we learn, all right,

  149. we learn something aboutselves, we learn about how to handle

  150. things better, but we learn more about God's nature as well.

  151. So it does not mean to forget former things, like okay,

  152. I forget every single lesson, uh, and then I repeat

  153. the same mistake again, you know, TTY six.

  154. No, it's not that God as to forget as well.

  155. It's not to deny every pain that we went through

  156. because through pain we learn, all right.

  157. Uh.

  158. And and you know I think gen I don't know,

  159. I think it's gen z, you know, denying pain in

  160. a gen Z term. They call it the lulu, right, Uh,

  161. de lulu is not the slulu. So delusions it's not

  162. the solution, Okay, being delusional about your situation. It's not

  163. the solution for you to get out of it. And

  164. then you have to face it as well.

  165. All right.

  166. Some people are like, okay, God, since you forget already,

  167. just be really delusional about it, and I just bury

  168. whever that is there under the carpet, and I just

  169. move on in life. You know, there are things that

  170. God allows to happen in our life that we have

  171. to face it. We have to deal deal with it, uh,

  172. and then move on. And when we deal with it,

  173. you know, it's not by our own strength as well. Right,

  174. it's true the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Also, and

  175. forgetting does not mean that memories to be erased. Uh,

  176. you know, I hope let me go back, like yay,

  177. you know, God, it's gonna remove everything just from a memory,

  178. perhaps possible maybe if you're in a cometos condition in

  179. common condition, then you know you don't have any memory.

  180. So well, then you know't you losing your memory?

  181. Which none of us wi't want that, right, Memories are

  182. there as different milestone and checkpoints for us, you know.

  183. As now now I'm yeah, in my forties, as I

  184. look back, and I'm like God, thank God for the

  185. different milestones, good ones, bad ones, But thank God for

  186. it because then you know, I have memories of it.

  187. And when I start telling people about my life, I

  188. have a lot of many things to recall, lessons that

  189. I could learn, all right.

  190. Uh.

  191. And and that is what forgetting the former things in

  192. is uh?

  193. And not to do that in the past. Uh.

  194. And what does that mean, you know, is for us

  195. to release what no longer has authority over us, all right? Uh?

  196. And and to release surrendering to God. And we need

  197. to stop allowing yesterday. Yesterday is to define our tomorrows.

  198. Only what can only define our tomorrows is God, right,

  199. and he is is this word, Okay, And only God

  200. and his word has authority over our life. Because what

  201. has authority over us buys us.

  202. All right.

  203. And I sure none of us will want our pains

  204. to buying us, to our for our regrets to buying us,

  205. our fears to buy us.

  206. Right. We want to be bound by the Lord by

  207. his word. Right.

  208. So I'm gonna move on to the second point. All right,

  209. uh sorry before to move on a second point and

  210. encourage us as we move on to the new year.

  211. Let's not carry it, oh and heavy baggages with us. Okay,

  212. Let's travel light even in this new season. Isaya for

  213. the treat verse nineteen. Let's see here. It's as c

  214. I am doing a new thing. Right, behold, I will

  215. do a new thing. This is the n KJV version.

  216. Now it shall spring forth? Shall you not know it?

  217. I will even make a road in the wilderness and

  218. reverse in the desert. And if you read, you know

  219. the whole of Isai your folly tree. You can see

  220. you know sas says the Lord, And I will not.

  221. I will read from verse one it says, sas says

  222. the Lord. Fear not, I have redeemed you. I've caught

  223. you by your name. You are mine, all right. When

  224. you pass through the waters, I will be with you,

  225. And through the rivers they shall not overflow you. When

  226. you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,

  227. or even the flame it shall not Scott shill.

  228. Right.

  229. So God, when he says something, he holds to his word,

  230. all right, And he says, I am doing a new

  231. thing all right. If you see here I am those

  232. of you who are you know, English experts, I am

  233. means I am doing it means it's a present tense.

  234. Okay.

  235. Uh, you know God did not say, you know, maybe

  236. one day I will do something, uh, you know, or

  237. just hope not wait, I may I may do something.

  238. You know. That speaks of uncertainty.

  239. But when God says I Am doing a new thing,

  240. it speaks of a certainty, right of a promise. And

  241. when God's you know, when you read this verse right,

  242. it means God has already begun his new work even

  243. before we noticed it. And sometimes why do we not

  244. notice a new thing that God is doing in our life?

  245. Why because a lot of times we still expect God

  246. to move the same way. Like God, you did it yesterday,

  247. like this, you do it again the same like this

  248. today and tomorrow. Uh.

  249. That's why you know, God had to ask us.

  250. To forget you know, stop comparing, Stop looking backwards while

  251. you drive, Stop comparing. Because every time God wants to

  252. do a new thing in our life, it can be different,

  253. or it could be different, or it could be still

  254. the same. But sometimes you are just so blinded and distracted,

  255. and we thought that you know, God, why are you

  256. so silent? It is because we box him up?

  257. Right?

  258. Okay, God, you just worked within how it's like here

  259. we limit him and and there's no room for forgot

  260. to work if we just put him in a box. Right.

  261. And the next thing, you know, sometimes we have what

  262. makes us miss what God is trying to allow us

  263. to see and experience. The new thing is because you

  264. are just too distracted. Were just to distract. We are

  265. just too busy surviving, going through our daily lives that

  266. we do not spend time to discern what God is doing,

  267. to reflect on what God is doing. And in these

  268. days and society, everything is just quickly available at a

  269. click of a thumb, a point of a finger, even

  270. for you know, with whole AI generation. Now, if you

  271. need information, it just has to give the right problem

  272. and you get the right answer. Everything is very instant

  273. that we don't just pause, discern, reflect, allow our brains

  274. and newer transmitters to create new pathways. All right, Uh,

  275. if you know it doesn't have brain study. The more

  276. wrinkled your brain is the better because the brain keeps

  277. making new pathways and that's where you grow and learn.

  278. But if you goes s get your brain. One day

  279. you say it's very smooth, It's actually not good. Okay,

  280. all right, so allowed you know ourselves to keep learning,

  281. to observe and learn. You know, I've been in in

  282. one social setting with us, so I don't hang out

  283. with campus students quite a bit.

  284. Uh, And and I remember.

  285. We were having like just caxual conversation like how things

  286. are and what you know. I can't remember what were

  287. the questions, okay, but I just remember I asked a question.

  288. Then uh, it was just awkward silence on the table.

  289. Then like I saw like different ones, I pick up

  290. their phone. I'm like, a y, I so so boring

  291. or conversation hang out? Then I just picked next door.

  292. Then they actually took out their chat gibt and key

  293. in what I asked and try to get a prom

  294. Then the person reply me based on what the chachibut.

  295. Because after that, I'm like, yeah, chat gibt, right, try

  296. to find out how to answer me. Right, I'm like, hello,

  297. this is a casual conversation and it's very very concerning

  298. it in a social setting. And you you know, I

  299. did tell them, like you can't even have a proper

  300. conversation and engagement with everyone.

  301. Uh, and you need chat gipty to help you. It

  302. is I don't know. I don't know what word to

  303. put to that.

  304. But I hope, I hope let me come to God

  305. as all Ah and and the reading of his word

  306. is not that the waiting on him is not you know,

  307. pulling out your chat gipty and ask, okay, what does

  308. Isaiah for the eighth for the tree verse eighteen? Men?

  309. You can get an answer right within a minute. Uh,

  310. And okay, God, I'm done listening to you. I know

  311. what this wors mean by bye.

  312. Uh. And then you move on with your quiet time. Uh.

  313. It can get to that, It can get to that.

  314. But spending time and we know that our relationship.

  315. We've got right.

  316. Uh, it's a two way relationship. Because God is a

  317. life and living he can speak to us, not to

  318. chat gipt, but to his word. Right. And I want

  319. to encourage us, you know, to continue to discern.

  320. And something we do.

  321. I think how many of you are at our Christmas

  322. production on the twenty fifth, and I think a few

  323. times there were instances they talk about revel right the daughter,

  324. you know, I was talking about revel with the dad

  325. and if rebel was brought up, our students are continuously

  326. taught how to pray, listen to the voice of the

  327. Holy Spirit, and obeying his voice as well. Many times

  328. as believers, right, we forget that to leave out the

  329. word of God. We forget lot to be obedient to

  330. what God wants to do wants us to do. All right,

  331. So I want to ask you know, us here today,

  332. what has God been stirring in your heart for in

  333. twenty twenty five that you know that He has been stirring,

  334. but he has just been putting it aside under the carpet.

  335. Something that he wants you to do, something you've been

  336. seeking him. You know, sometimes it's funny, you know, as

  337. human beings to ask God, you know, what should I do?

  338. What jos should I take? You know, what's the next step? Uh?

  339. And a lot of times it started asking because after

  340. that you're like, huh, I think we start making our

  341. own plans. We start planning our own paths, right uh.

  342. And the world, God says, the man may plan, but

  343. it is God that directs our path. And a lot

  344. of times we just stop at the planning and there's

  345. no room Forgot to direct us. So my.

  346. You know, encouragement for us, you know, to stay back. God.

  347. What have you been stirring my heart that I've put aside?

  348. You know?

  349. God, I am sorry. I repent.

  350. There were different instances I was like that as any

  351. twenty five I repent, But God in twenty twenty six

  352. helped me to obey your voice. Help me to obey

  353. your word of what you want to do in and

  354. through my life.

  355. All right.

  356. So first point is the let go of the past.

  357. That's from verse eighteen. Second point is to discern the

  358. new thing that God is already at work in our life.

  359. So this part is where you have to ask God

  360. what was the new thing that You're doing in my life?

  361. And allow him to speak to you. Cha jipt cannot

  362. answer you, okay, so sorry about that. But yes you

  363. can play pay your premium plan. I don't know what

  364. other different plans in j but you can pray like

  365. super expensive. It can't answer you as well. Come back

  366. to the word of God, all right, And now the

  367. third point is aligning ourselves with God's purpose Joshua chapter three,

  368. verse five. Let's turn to that and we will read

  369. it together. Okay, if you're there, good, Thank you. God,

  370. so good to hear your voice. All right, so let's

  371. read it in one two and she and Josha said

  372. to the people, sanctify yourselves for tomorrow. The Lord will

  373. do wonders among you. All right, sanctify yourself. Another version

  374. will say, consecrete yourself for tomorrow, God will do amazing

  375. things among you.

  376. Amen. Amen. So before the issue lights right cross over

  377. the Promised Land. If you read in the.

  378. Chapters before this as well and after as well, you'll

  379. see they actually didn't really have.

  380. A strategy. Firs h.

  381. If you look at numbers, right, there were a lot

  382. some to others. When we read numbers, you may see like, hey,

  383. you know there's a share a lot a lot of rituals.

  384. Uh they did uh?

  385. And and they the rituals to us, you know, like okay,

  386. you know they have to slaughter, how many lamps sacrifice?

  387. How many bulls build the tabernacle? Where does they have

  388. to face the size of the tabernacles? Which tried is

  389. you know, it's part of the different taberneckles. If you

  390. read that right, that actually just didn't tell us like okay,

  391. everything is just so administrative, so logistics, uh so methodological,

  392. but it is not if you read in between the lines,

  393. it is a form of them consecrating themselves. You know,

  394. before they enter the Promised Land. They did not just

  395. you know, enter with Okay, strategy is what do we

  396. need to do? But as time goes, God let them

  397. what they need to do. And they consecrated themselves, all right,

  398. So to set that, uh, to align themselves. They set

  399. themselves apart. What does consecration means? Okay, to set a

  400. set aside themselves, set apart themselves for God. They realign

  401. the priorities and then you know, they they just have

  402. to say, God, you are first. You know how many

  403. of us are you know, are able to do that?

  404. This year?

  405. Maybe you know, like I say, business took over. Ah,

  406. But I want to encourage us as we prepare for

  407. the new year. Let's be intentional and tell God, Okay, God,

  408. I want to set myself apart for you and you

  409. can actually you know it does It's not limited only

  410. alright to the young people here. But I don't know,

  411. encourage us, you know for every single age group here,

  412. you know, lest down, like God, what the areas that

  413. I want to set apart for you that is fully yours? Uh?

  414. And and set myself apart from the world worldly things, okay.

  415. And as you do that, you know, ask God, Okay,

  416. what are the areas?

  417. Okay? God, you want to challenge me to do it?

  418. Uh?

  419. Second is realign priorities? Ah? All right?

  420. Uh? And and and also, you know, preparing this message,

  421. I was just asking myself, God, have I placed you

  422. first in my life this year? Or the eye place

  423. my comfort above you?

  424. Uh?

  425. The air place you know, my other concerts above you,

  426. that plays my job above you, the air place my

  427. family above you? Priorities? And what are the priorities that

  428. we have to realign? And you know, the ability to

  429. say God, you are first in my life.

  430. It's really difficult to do that. It's really really difficult because.

  431. You know, you know it's going to be out to

  432. be slightly painful and say God, you are first. Uh?

  433. And everything else is secondary? Okay?

  434. And and what the areas you know that we can

  435. actually say, you know, God, you are first in my life.

  436. It can be our time, it can be our habit

  437. of fine lenses, our relationships, our obedience. Uh.

  438. And you know, maybe.

  439. God is challenging us to consecrate ourselves in this area

  440. so that a breakthrough can happen, right, different most of

  441. us desire a breakthrough in our lives. And as Christians,

  442. I always or as followers of Jesus, right, I always

  443. encourage different ones. We should have fresh testimonies to share

  444. every day. It will be the best if not at

  445. this weekly, if not monthly, but if the you know,

  446. if you're asked, okay, you know, share with us a

  447. testing on what God has done your life. And you

  448. can only think back like five years ago and five

  449. years ago, then perhaps you know all we should ask

  450. God again, God, help me to have a breakthrough, because

  451. with every breakthrough there is going to be a fresh testimony, right,

  452. So around encourage us to reflect on that. And I'm

  453. going to move to the fourth point, and I hope

  454. to finish early today so you can have your you

  455. know here and maccans together with different ones, all right, Okay,

  456. the fourth point is stepping forward in faith, all right?

  457. As you can see here Joshua chapter three, verse thirteen,

  458. is it Joshua tree thirteen, Yes, it says yer. And

  459. it shall come to pass as soon as the source

  460. of the feet of the priests who bears the art

  461. of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth shall

  462. rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters

  463. of the Jordans shall be cut off, the waters that

  464. come down from upstream, and they shall stand as a heap.

  465. All right, So what does this mean? The waters parted

  466. after the priests stepped into the river. God often waits

  467. for us to take that step of faith. We may

  468. have all the fears and concerns, we may have all

  469. the positive and doing inverted common, you know, because a

  470. lot that's a lot of positive thinking now, but that's

  471. not faith, right, God often waighs for us to take

  472. that step of faith, like the priests, you know, they

  473. took that step of faith to stand the river.

  474. That's where it parted.

  475. You know.

  476. Stepping forward in faith will cause.

  477. Us to unlock even a new way and a breakthrough

  478. that God wants to do in our life. And so

  479. I said that God often waits for us to take

  480. a step of faith. He also waits for us for

  481. the act of obedience. All right, we've got to take that.

  482. Faith requires obedience as well. And then the act of

  483. surrendering all right and saying yes, God, here am I

  484. send me? You know, that's always like that sounds or

  485. here might use me, you know, for the coming year.

  486. You know, I believe you know, some doors may open

  487. for us as we start moving. Only, all right, as

  488. we take that stepe of faith as to act out

  489. of obedience, and as we surrender and say yes to God,

  490. that door will open and and miracles can happen also.

  491. In our lives. All right.

  492. For some of us, you are thinking, okay, what faith is? Okay,

  493. faith is not knowing everything, but trusting God enough to

  494. move anyway, and trusting God even though that you can't

  495. see him, but his promises are real. Uh, And trusting

  496. that you know, God is a God who fulfills his promise.

  497. Okay.

  498. So I'm going to close with this now, and I'm

  499. gonna invite extreme forward the church. Uh. You know, friends

  500. and family, brothers and sisters. What are the areas in

  501. our life in the past that we have to release

  502. and what are the areas that we need to allow

  503. ourselves to recognize that God is doing a new work.

  504. What are the areas in our life that we have

  505. to actually consecrate ourselves to set apart so that God

  506. can be first in our lives? And what is that

  507. step of faith that you have to take to grow

  508. all right, So this year is going to be amazing. Sorry,

  509. twenty twenty six is going to be an amazing year

  510. for each and every one of us, and I believe

  511. He is going to cause us to grow to know

  512. Him more. Yep, and different ones as well. I believe

  513. if you have been waiting on God for an answer,

  514. waiting on God for a breakthrough, he is gonna cause

  515. that will happen.

  516. But it requires us to say that step of faith. Amen.

  517. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more
