You're listening to a message to go from acts church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
And we are of course on the series right now
-
that you can actually see and refer to in this book.
-
We are in less than five and what we have
-
done is from the last two weeks of December all
-
the way to the whole month of January, we are
-
bringing the church, the entire church, So all twelve locations,
-
all sixteen worship services are actually teaching and going through
-
this series called Unpacking the Vision.
-
And we want to be able to reveal all that
-
the Lord.
-
Has actually given to us as a church, not just
-
for the first twenty years. We were a birth in
-
the year two thousand and so the church this coming
-
year will be twenty six years old. But you know,
-
God has really brought us through a wonderful, wonderful journey
-
and things are unfolding, and we believe that it's so
-
important to get the church all together on the same page,
-
to not just be able to dream together with the church.
-
We were church that dream and continue to dream. The
-
first twenty years, no, we were guided by Joseph and
-
the story of Joseph and how he was someone who
-
dreamed dreams and wonderful dreams. No, and then you know
-
for the next twenty years, from twenty twenty onwards. And
-
twenty twenty one was when the vision was actually unveiled
-
and passed the cannon downloaded from the Lord. He unveiled
-
it to the church, the vision for the next twenty years.
-
So we are still in the midst of it. It
-
may sound new and foreign to some of you. Some
-
of you may have been here for a long time,
-
you may have heard it, but we are just going
-
to bring everyone through together. So if you have join
-
us for the first week and you need a copy
-
of this week's sheet, I believe the host should be
-
able to get one to you. If not, I hope
-
you have your books with you, okay, cool. I am
-
going to teach a little bit on whatever the notes
-
has prepared, and I will bring your true some things,
-
some scriptural explanation of Cudain things as well, so I
-
may speak a little bit faster, because if not, that's
-
the only way we can catch up on time. Joe said,
-
just now, we need to catch up on time, more
-
like I need to catch up on time, okay, And
-
so I'm mindful of the timing.
-
Sorry.
-
So the last week, I think session four, we were
-
reminded of God's dietary plan for ex Church, the diet.
-
So you may have heard it. You're like, what's diet?
-
What are we talking about diets? Well, the diet for
-
ex Church is basically the interpretation of the dream that
-
gives us the vision for the next twenty years. And
-
this is exactly what we are doing. We are unpacking
-
this vision. We're breaking it down so that it's not
-
just something that is big and whole, but it's something
-
that we can translate into bite sizes so that everyone
-
can be a heart of it. And I want you
-
to know this, this vision is not just.
-
For the church.
-
Okay, it's for ex Church as so as we say
-
it's so big, how do you even move and entiret church? Well,
-
when every single one of us actually have a part
-
to play, When every single one of us put our
-
hands to the plow, that's when it makes a difference.
-
And we need very.
-
Much from all age groups, from all walks of lives,
-
from all different church plants, everyone putting their hands to
-
the plow. It's very very important that we are in
-
this together. And so we want to encourage all of
-
y'all to know what this diet is not the diet
-
that the Lord has set for us, all of us.
-
Sometimes not all of us are okay, those who need
-
a dietary plan, so as we need to set one.
-
I know I need a diet plan right now because
-
every time after Christmas the diet goes wonky. Uh, you know,
-
trousers can't feed no more. Either that or I have
-
to go and look for the fat pants. That's why
-
I call it the fat pants. After Christmas is I
-
need to go on hand for all the fat bands
-
that I used to have. And I know we all
-
have a set of plan, a dietary plan, which is
-
very very important. And so last week we spoke about
-
the interpretation of the dream, which is the diet which
-
is from Daniel, and of course we spoke about the
-
challenges that can unfold while this vision is being carried out.
-
Knows how the challenges that we identified last week was
-
the tree L's. So if you're with us, you realize
-
that we talk about the loss, we talk about the leaders,
-
we talk about the leaven. Basically, we were saying that
-
we can't do without winning more of the loss. This
-
whole dietary plan, this whole diet, this whole interpretation of
-
the dream involves the vision of Habakok, which is that
-
the knowledge of the glory of God is known throughout
-
the world, and it's not just anything is the knowledge
-
of the glory of God. This is the vision, the
-
overarching vision that we are all guided by, and we
-
are all a part of it, and we all want
-
to be a part of this movement, of this work,
-
of this ministry of ensuring that the knowledge of God
-
doesn't just remain in the deepest recesses of our hearts,
-
but it goes far and wide so that many more
-
will come to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
-
Because it goes on to say, as the water covers
-
the sea, that is basically everything like okay.
-
And God wants all to know.
-
And we have a big role and a big responsibility,
-
and so we can't do without the loss. You know,
-
sometimes we forget that as a church, we are the
-
only organization and the only society in the world that
-
actually exists for its non members. We exist to reach
-
out to those who are outside our organization. Is so
-
very very important for us to be reminded of them.
-
So the challenge is this, sometimes we forget the lost.
-
The other challenge is the leaders the tree else. Remember
-
the second challenge is the leaders, because we can't do
-
without the laborers. And that's why the scripture says, no
-
pray to the God of the hours for more laborers.
-
Pray to God of the hours for more laborers. Everyone
-
has a role and a responsibility to lead. As a
-
Christian and as a believer, we have been given roles
-
and responsibilities to lead and to guide others. And so
-
this is not just something that is bestowed upon our
-
church leadership, the leaders who will ordained. It's not so
-
much that all of us actually have a leadership call
-
upon our lives. You could be a primary school student
-
and you'll realize that if I am in school and
-
I have the knowledge of Jesus in my life, how
-
can I help my friends know who Jesus is. Sometimes
-
is praying and asking God for opportunities for you to share.
-
And so that's why in schools we always run this
-
revel movement. We are telling young people pray, listen, obey,
-
and then witness God's goodness. Plow that's the acronym for
-
a plow No, we want to encourage all of us
-
to be able to do this, and so we need leaders.
-
That means we can't have our people sitting down and
-
thinking that, oh, I will just ride along. Basically, whenever
-
we come and whenever we avail ourselves into God's kingdom
-
is saying that, Lord, what can I do to serve you?
-
That's why it's actually called a service, even though here
-
in actually we call it worship, which is worship is
-
also a service unto the God, unto God. And so
-
this is what I want us to be reminded of,
-
and it is one of the challenges leaders. How do
-
we raise leaders? How do we encourage more leaders to
-
rise up? And it's because we can't do without the labors.
-
And of course we also talk about the leaven and
-
the eleven is just that you know in Basa they
-
call it the monk in the catalyst, something that actually
-
drives and starts something so that it gets going. No,
-
we can't do without the sending out, we can't do
-
without the discipline.
-
All these are needed for.
-
Us to see the vision come to pass. It is
-
so very important and so we need to continue working
-
on all these three challenges that we will see unfold
-
as we continue to see the vision come to pass.
-
These are real challenges. We need to work on all
-
of them because this is the plan, This is the
-
diet that God has given to us as a church,
-
ex church, that we will bring the knowledge of Christ
-
to the furthest further'est most parts.
-
Of this world. Amen.
-
And so once we have the dietary plan, we Once
-
we have the diet, once we have the ability to
-
understand that this is what God has said for us
-
as a church, we need to break it down. And
-
so last week we also broke it down. We broke
-
it down to remember daily break. We broke it down
-
to tide our tides. We broke it down to eleven again.
-
What does that mean? Basically the daily break we spoke
-
about having to make a list. Who do I want
-
to disciple? Who do I want to actually reach out to?
-
Who do I want to spend a little bit more
-
time this time round. I believe June had to pray
-
or something had to impress upon her that I think
-
I want to plan a Christmas luncheon. Maybe she went
-
with I don't know who exactly I'm going to be
-
reaching out to, but hopefully one person will reach out
-
to me in written and that's exactly what happened. But
-
it's good to actually make a list. The daily bread
-
is what we will do daily. You know, the Lord's
-
prayer includes a verse that says, give us this day
-
our daily break. Sometimes we don't understand why that prayer
-
was prayed because today we don't get daily wages. Today
-
we get a monthly wage. Some people get a weekly wage.
-
But back in those days, if you don't get your
-
daily wage, basically you don't eat for that day.
-
That's how it is.
-
That's why the prayer daily is, Lord, give us this
-
day our daily break.
-
So daily we have.
-
This responsibility and for us as partners of exchurch, I
-
pray that we will learn how important it is as
-
we break it down, make list. That means, don't just think, oh,
-
for this vision to come to pass, I am not involved. No,
-
you have to be involved, because we will never see
-
the glory of Jesus made known to the entire earth
-
until and unless everyone is participating in the ministry of
-
the Lord. And so we pray that you are able
-
to make least who is there? I want to descible
-
who is there? I want to pray for who is there.
-
I want to spend more time with. These are very
-
very important things. The next thing that we spoke about
-
was tithing, basically tiding. We spoke about how important it
-
is for us to make a commitment. Make a commitment.
-
So don't just make a list. It's easy to make
-
a list. Okay, I want to meet this person, but
-
then you must commit to that list. And that is
-
what tithing is. Tithing is actually putting your money where
-
your mouth is. You know, or you get what I'm saying.
-
You are putting it out. You're committed to doing something.
-
And I will explain today. We're going to talk a
-
little bit more about tithing. And then, of course, the
-
third thing we talked about last week was the eleven. Basically,
-
don't just make a list, don't just make a commitment. Ultimately,
-
you got to make it count. Make it count. That
-
means it has to be pragmatic. It has actually got
-
to be going out and discipling others and witnessing to others.
-
So the leven is the one that gets us going.
-
Okay, So today's emphasis is really about the tide, the
-
power of the type, and I want to talk a
-
little bit about this because if you study and this
-
is what we are doing as well, we are actually
-
learning from Pasta Cannet. When he was sharing this vision,
-
he was also sharing with us his life and one
-
of the secret to Pasta Cannet's success in life. And
-
some people will be like he's he successful. Well, I
-
believe for someone who was nobody like all of us,
-
to be able to be where he is today, to
-
have pioneered and planted churches in multiple locations across different continents,
-
I believe that there is something that he has done
-
right and really he has just continued to inspire different
-
ones to keep on planting. I think that something that
-
is remarkable. And he will be the first to tell
-
you that this has got nothing to do with him,
-
per se. It's got everything to do with the low
-
because he started off with what two others and today
-
we are in multi continence because of his obedience. And
-
so he always reminds us about the power of the
-
tithe because his life is actually built on tithing. What
-
is tithing as a principle, Well, it starts actually, and
-
this is how he explains it. It starts in the
-
garden of Eden when God says don't touch the tree. Okay,
-
don't touch the tree. And it shows us that in
-
everything in life, there is one thing that we cannot touch. Okay,
-
I'm going to take it a little bit deeper. This
-
is not in your notes, but I want to refer
-
to where that scripture comes from, and so if you
-
have your Bibles, I'm going to read Genesis chapter two,
-
verse fifteen. Okay, he says this, sir, the Lord God
-
took the man and put him in the garden of
-
Eden to work it and take care of it. Okay,
-
that there are some things I want to highlight. So
-
he says that the Lord God took the man and
-
put him in the garden of Eden to work it
-
and to take care of it. That to me basically
-
means labor. Okay, labor. And the Lord God commanded the man.
-
You are free to eat from any tree in the garden,
-
but you must not eat from the tree of the
-
knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat it,
-
you will certainly die. So the second part is this,
-
you are free to eat from any tree in the garden,
-
but you must not eat from the tree of knowledge good,
-
of good and evil. The first part talked about labor.
-
The second part talks about loyalty. Loyalty and I will
-
explain it. Okay, you are free to eat from any
-
tree in the garden, but you must not eat from
-
that tree. Why in the world that God put one
-
tree in the garden that they are not to touch.
-
We ask this question all the time. Why didn't God
-
just leave it out? Because it would have been much better,
-
much easier. We will have none of the troubles that
-
we are facing today in this world, have no undertakers
-
because there will be no sain. No sin means there'll
-
be no death. That means we could have all been
-
living in paradise forever more. The Bible doesn't exactly say
-
why did he put the tree there, but let's give
-
it some talk. Okay, I want us to think about this.
-
You see, you cannot offer loyalty to anyone unless there
-
is also the opportunity not to be loyal.
-
Makes sense.
-
See, loyalty doesn't just happen. It is something that you
-
develop against the background of the possibility of not being loyal.
-
And so here was this one tree in the garden,
-
and it is as if God was saying, you can
-
have all the other trees you have enough to look at,
-
enough to live on, everything you could ask for. But
-
I have to include in your environment the possibility of
-
being disloyal so that I may have your loving loyalty.
-
Makes sense, and so God wanted loyalty, and the tree
-
was a reminder that he decided what is good and
-
what is evil, and that he had the knowledge of evil.
-
But you know what, I've met so many people, young
-
people myself included, who always say, I think I've got
-
to try everything before I decide.
-
What's right and what's wrong. Right.
-
We always meet people like that, and we were once
-
like that. Try us, let me try, and what you
-
tell me is not right? Ah, you ready, try everything,
-
eyes want to try. The truth is you don't need
-
to try everything before you find out whether it's good
-
or evil. Leave that knowledge to God. Sometimes we have
-
to learn to take his word for it, accept his
-
lordship in your life. If we can touch anything and
-
everything in life, then we become God. And so when
-
God says don't touch this or don't do that, and
-
when we hear and obey, we acknowledge.
-
Him as God.
-
So the first relationship that we need to get right
-
is with God, and it is a relationship of obedience
-
in which we offer him both our labor and our
-
loyalty and leave him to decide what is good and
-
what is evil, and offer our conscience to him to
-
be guided by him.
-
Makes sense.
-
You see, Tithe is not about the money, but about
-
acknowledging God is God. Acknowledging God as God, that we
-
would set aside our money, our time, our.
-
Talents, and everything else that we have for him.
-
It is not laws, the spirit of putting God first,
-
giving God what belongs to him. So we may say
-
we don't have enough time, but if we were to
-
give God that time that we have, we are essentially
-
sowing time. And the Bible says what you saw you
-
should read. Sometimes we always say we got no time
-
to do anything. I want you to know when you
-
sow time, you read time. I've heard passes Sam teach
-
this before, and some you may know who buss The
-
same is Bussus Samsuigindern was our conference speaker last year.
-
And know when we were younger, and I remember I
-
was in Pinang and he used to teach this. You
-
know the tide the ten percent tithing that we give. Okay,
-
I know it's old Testament. You're like, now today we
-
just need a gift cheerfully. I agree, we need to
-
give cheerfully today. But he's a good guy, okay, and
-
I use that as a good guy. The ten percent,
-
Why do we need to give ten percent of our tides?
-
Bussa Sam taught this one. No, you take the ten
-
percent to redeem the ninety percent. This is essentially what
-
you're doing. You're guiding what you have to redeem the
-
rest of God's goodness. That is what tithing is. And
-
I want us to understand what we sow is what
-
we read. It is so important. This is something that
-
has guided Pastor for a long time. He is someone
-
that does not mess with the tithe because he knows
-
whatever belongs to God, give it back to God. Because
-
this is how God functions and how it operates. And remember,
-
if you read and you understand the principle of the
-
Garden of Eden, it is dead. God wants both our
-
labor and our loyalty. And so what we have to
-
essentially do is so dead into His kingdom, so our
-
labor and so our loyalty. Is it makes sense? You see,
-
all things are possible with the tithe. It's a very
-
practical thing, tithing. That's why when we say offer up
-
our tithes and offering, we do something about it. We
-
don't just pay lip service to it. But I know
-
it's not always just putting our money.
-
In.
-
It could also be prayer. We can pray for every
-
need we have agreed to pray for. Have you agreed
-
to pray for people and then not pray for people?
-
I do it all the time. Sometimes Now I have
-
to tell myself the minute I say to someone I'll
-
pray for you, I actually take out my phone. See
-
I need to make a list, because I'll tell you
-
what you've forget them. And I make a list and
-
I put down Okay, I said I will pray for
-
this person, I jolly well better pray for this person,
-
because not that makes me a liar, right. I have
-
to force myself to do it because I, for the
-
life of me, cannot remember a lot of things. It's
-
just my inability as allowsy lawyer. Okay, I know lawyers
-
are good we remembering names, but I'm just so bad
-
that sometimes. And so when I say I pray for
-
some I know I have to I have to honor
-
it and open it and you know, when we soul prayers,
-
I believe we also reap answered prayers. When we serve,
-
and all of us can offer ourselves to serve God.
-
We can serve God and his house with our one
-
hundred percent. We're offering something up unto the Lord. We
-
can share with those who don't have. That's offering something
-
that we have to someone who does not have. That
-
is what being generous is all about. We can make disciples.
-
All of us can actually offer up something of us.
-
You know, making disciples is our responsibility because it was
-
a mandate that was given not just to a select few,
-
but it was a mandate given to the church. It
-
was the last commission, the last command that Jesus gave us,
-
and he has to be our first priority to make disciples.
-
You know, we can make disciples wherever we are in
-
all honesty, as long as there's someone looking up to you.
-
And more often than not people are looking at you.
-
Not the whole white world, but there will be someone
-
who is looking at you, and that means that you
-
actually have an opportunity. You may be a parent, you
-
may be a brother, you may be a colleague, you
-
may be a student. You may have classmates. There are
-
always people who are looking up to us. We can
-
actually make disciples again, it starts with us even giving
-
God our best. That is a form of tithing. We
-
can consider taking on leadership because in a leadership function
-
and responsibility, we can help turn every partner into a pioneer.
-
This is what we actually hope to do as X
-
As a church, we have always been church planting. It's
-
something that is part of who we are. And so
-
even discipleship, we say, is discipleship true church blunting. I
-
know sometimes that's like, what does that mean? Does that
-
mean that this is just going to plant another church? Well,
-
this church was planted from another church, and yes, if
-
you're part of acts, be ready to one day suddenly
-
be challenged with the whole idea of planting another church,
-
because that is how we have been doing it all
-
this while.
-
And I pray that.
-
It will not stop because we were never in Mandatama,
-
but today we are, and today we are reaching different
-
people in different locations, and this is what the Lord
-
has given to us. And I pray that we will
-
not be afraid of the responsibility of giving ourselves into
-
leadership because God needs laborers. Pray to the God of
-
horwards for laborers.
-
Amen.
-
We can sow into community. Community work is a way
-
of sowing and tithing. You know, it's a simple command
-
and reminder. It's a scriptural reminded that we are not
-
to not care for those who are less fortunate. That
-
is the reason why I continue to encourage the church
-
to go out to be aware of the people around them,
-
to realize that not everyone is as blessed as they are,
-
so that we can then share and be a blessing
-
to others as well. We can sow into missions because
-
all of us have a part to play to fill
-
the earth with the knowledge of His glory.
-
Amen.
-
And so this is something that I want us to remember.
-
All things are possible with the tithe if you understand
-
what tithing is is essentially sowing yourself, sowing what you have,
-
your time, your treasure, and your talent and too God
-
and see yourself redeem God's blessings in your life.
-
Amen.
-
The third part of this is this, and you'll see
-
in your notes. It's just a verse that says, give
-
to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's?
-
Is then your notes, I think it's in your notes. Okay,
-
I will explain it, and that one is not in
-
your notes. You see, the question posed to Jesus about
-
paying taxes to Caesar was actually a trap. It's a
-
trick question because the question that was posed to him
-
is is it right to pay texas to Caesar? And
-
who was it who was asking him? I think if
-
you make reference to Matthew chapter twenty two, it was
-
the Herodians and the Pharisees. I think these two actually
-
don't get a long one, but somehow they complot together.
-
They came together. Again, let's just trick Jesus as ask
-
him a question. Herodians are, of course herold and the
-
one that killed all the babies part of the group.
-
I think if you do a study, they were the Jews.
-
The Pharisees actually don't like them and they don't get along.
-
They were part of the idol Might clan. But anyway,
-
that's beside the point. It was a trick question that
-
they could do together.
-
At that time. What was happening is this.
-
You have to always remember this Israel was an occupied
-
country at that time, so the Romans were occupying power,
-
and so when they asked Jesus, that question, is it
-
right to pay Texas to Caesar?
-
Is here.
-
Either Jesus could say that they should not pay this
-
taxes to Rome, in which case they will have gone
-
straight to Pontius Pilot and told Pontius Pilot he this
-
one traitor to the Roman Empire. Or if he says
-
no need to pay, or if he says need to pay,
-
then he will become very unpopular with his own people
-
who were being occupied, which would basically put an end
-
to his public ministry because you see, the Jews were
-
not happy to as certain extent that the Romans were
-
there because there's someone over them right now. Okay, So
-
it was a trick question, quite cleverly worded in sense
-
to try the trick. But Jesus, and if it's something
-
that I learned from scriptures, don't try to trick Jesus
-
because he always has the right answers, and he saw
-
right through the question, and he knew they were not
-
bothered about Texas at all. I mean the Pharisees who
-
were super duper rich. Actually they were making money off Rome.
-
That's the reality of it. And Jesus knew the hypocrisy,
-
and that means that in a way, he didn't want
-
to answer, and they didn't want to know his answer. Actually,
-
they just wanted to trap him. And so Jesus just
-
went on and replied, he didn't care what they have
-
to say. He went on. He gave them an answer,
-
and he gave him a brilliant answer. Actually, because what
-
did he do? He asked for a coin, so he said,
-
he you got coin, you're probably thinking, Jesus so put
-
until he got no coins. No, no, no, no, he
-
could ask his treasurer, the traitor, for a coin.
-
But he asked them for a coin. Why Jesus do that?
-
Because I believe he wanted something out of their pockets,
-
something that they were already using, something to which they
-
had already committed themselves to something, so he was teaching
-
them something. He asked them for a coin, and so
-
it was made clear that they were willing to use
-
this money and accept it at its face value. So
-
they brought their food. They actually used the coins to
-
buy their food, buy their clothing. And so he asked
-
them whose money is it? Whose money? This money that
-
you already committed towards, Whose money is it? You are
-
so involved in it? And they asked whether they should
-
pay taxes, and Jesus said, render there for to Caesar
-
the things.
-
That are Caesar's.
-
That is what the scripture says, give to Caesar, what
-
belongs to Caesar. And the word use in the reply
-
under Jesus to Caesar is actually the word repay. You
-
got to understand that. So they had asked whether they
-
should pay Texas and he told them that they should
-
repay taxes, and that is a very different matter altogether,
-
and it puts it in a slightly different light. Of course,
-
they could not say anything about this because, uh, the
-
truth is, the Jewish people had benefitted from the Roman Empire.
-
What was evident back then was something called Pax Romana.
-
Pax Romana basically is Roman peace. And so the peace
-
that the Romans brought, the stability that the Romans brought,
-
the security that the Romans brought, it was all throughout
-
the Mediterranean world. It's a situation in which anyone could
-
travel around freely within the entire region without a passport
-
because they were protected by Rome. And so actually repaying
-
is the correct thing because they have already benefited from Rome.
-
That's why he says, render to Caesar what belongs to Caesar.
-
But then now he doesn't stop that. Jesus goes on
-
with the second part of the sentence. And what's the
-
second part of the sentence. He says this, and to
-
God what is God's The me is render to God
-
what belongs to God. And so you also have a
-
duty to God for the benefits you get from him.
-
That means he has a right to expect something from
-
you as well as Caesar having the right. And so
-
you have to understand this. As Christians, we have this
-
double citizenship. We are a citizen of earth, and we
-
owe certain things to the earthly country to which we
-
belong to, but we're also citizen of Heaven, and certain
-
things we owe to the Kingdom of Heaven because we
-
belong also as believers to the Kingdom of Heaven.
-
Make sense.
-
See, the problem arises for Christian when Caesar begins to
-
claim something that only God can claim.
-
And actually it.
-
Started happening after that because Caesar suddenly claimed to be God.
-
And that's where Christians have to say, no, I can't
-
give that to you. I can't give you the title
-
of divinity because you are not God. And actually, the
-
day Caesar claimed to be God. Was the day that
-
we saw a lot of Christians martyr thereafter because they
-
couldn't respond to that claim, because we can't give to
-
him that which he was claiming. And many decided that
-
I would rather die than to render to Caesar what
-
he wanted. But in this case it was a simple
-
shu Okay, I'm talking a little bit further. In this
-
case give to Caesar. What is Caesar's using his money?
-
Why shouldn't you give him his money? Therefore, there were
-
also to give to God what belongs to God. You see,
-
you and I we all use currency. You'll use notes, right, okay?
-
Or you say I don't use notes anymore? What what
-
what is on your your ring gate note?
-
Are going? Okay?
-
All most of our I mean if you go to
-
UK that the bound notes has I don't know the
-
change to King Charles face with you or not, but
-
most of it should still be in Queen Isabel's face.
-
Okay.
-
So we use money that has an image of an
-
earthly sovereign on it, he actually has a claim to
-
the money, and because his face is on it, think
-
about it now, But what is it which has God's
-
image on it? What has God's image on it us,
-
every man and women on earth. Therefore, what I must
-
render to God that he deserves in me. God has
-
a right to me. If the money that we use
-
has the image of an earthly ruler, who therefore has
-
a right to it. Who we who are made in
-
the image of the heavenly King, he has a right
-
to us. This is what Jesus is teaching us here
-
in this scripture. You see the power of the type
-
is essentially us offering ourselves both labor and loyalty to God.
-
Does that make sense? I want us to be able
-
to see that we are all meaning God's image, and
-
so we belong to him. And I pray that you
-
will continue to be reminded of that, because what are
-
your actions, What are the actions that you are going
-
to be taking. What are the things that you're going
-
to present unto God that will show that.
-
You belong to him. That's why the tide is such
-
a powerful, powerful thing. It's very, very significant.
-
And so as we approach I know this next twenty
-
years that we are ready in seeing this vision and fold.
-
You know when this message was revealed and when this
-
message was actually said, it was in twenty twenty one. Okay,
-
it was during the peak of the pandemic, and God
-
downloaded a lot of significant things to us as a church.
-
God reminded us that the past twenty years he has
-
been so so faithful. No, we were a church that
-
dream dream was actually revealed then know the whole Disciples,
-
Disciples Disciple, first Revival, Evangelism, Action Mission, we were actually
-
living out that dream. And then when we came to
-
twenty twenty, we realized that the vision is what was
-
revealed to us for the next twenty years. And that's
-
why we talk from the Book of Daniel. Daniel was
-
God's diet for us. Basically, what are we going to
-
do where the Lord has placed us. Daniel was a
-
marketplace leader. He was a leader who was in exile,
-
and so twenty the next twenty years, even that time,
-
a lot of things were very significant. We were at
-
twenty twenty. Just twenty twenty just went past. And you know,
-
if you were alive since my day was prime Minister,
-
the first time you would have heard of vision, door blow,
-
door blow, Okay, did it come to pass? Well, I
-
think to a certain extent, John will be like, yeah,
-
he wanted to see a modernized Malaysia. I think he
-
did quite a fabbit, especially in his first tenure. To
-
be honest, whether every single blueprint that was revealed back
-
then came to pass, I don't know. I didn't study
-
it exactly, but twenty twenty was dead, so it was
-
very very significant. And of course we also know that
-
Daniels served four kings, and God showed us that each
-
king is almost like each government that we'll see because
-
elections are actually held average every four to five years,
-
maximum is five years the term, and so there will
-
be this next few cycles that we will see ourselves
-
in the next twenty years, and I pray that we
-
will be excited. That means it doesn't matter what happens.
-
The reality is that time when this vision was revealed
-
was very very exciting for Malaysia as well for nation
-
because for the first time we actually had a new
-
government as well. Of course, we are now looking back
-
behindsight and I'm not share the new government did a
-
lot of things well in all honors, in all honesty
-
and fairness, they probably haven't been given the most amount
-
of time as well as But all I know is
-
that change will keep on happening. Five years, five years,
-
four years, five years, change will happen, and we just
-
need to realize what the significance of it for us
-
as a church, because we have got a part to play.
-
If you are in ex church, I mean, we are
-
not different churches. I'm sure the Lord in his wonderful
-
creativity has got a plan and a purpose, a unique
-
one for different churches. But here in Acts we are
-
clear that this is what we need to do, and
-
that's why we are trying to break it down so
-
that we can help every single one of us be
-
a part of that vision, sewing into the unfolding.
-
Of this vision for us as the church. Amen.
-
And so I remember back then when we were having
-
our leaders, it was very very significant because we had
-
a few very clear takeaways. When we were meeting our
-
leaders and encouraging them, we were telling them and we
-
were talking about discipleship, how important it is, how important
-
it is for the people that we are discipling. We
-
call them our huddle members. Here in X we have
-
a discipleship process where we huddle together in groups and
-
we lead each other and we guide each other through
-
the huddle. And we needed to make sure that everyone
-
was clear about their role and their responsibility what they
-
needed to do at their part of the world, because
-
all of us were building a wall. It's a wall
-
that is big and long. And that time we just
-
came from twenty eighteen twenty eighteen. It was Nahi Maya.
-
Nahi Maya was actually the scripture that guided us in
-
twenty eighteen, the rebuilding of the war, And so we
-
were preparing the church and we were telling them that
-
we were all we all have a part to play.
-
It's a big war.
-
But when everyone knows their responsibility, everyone is clear about
-
what they have to do, if everyone is accounted for,
-
if everyone participates, we get it done faster and more efficiently.
-
And we had to keep reminding every leader back then,
-
the focus is about winning souls, winning those who are lost,
-
making disciples, producing leaders, releasing daniels back into the marketplace.
-
We can't do this by ourselves, is next to impossible
-
until and unless every one of us are involved. How
-
can we break it down? How can we make it personal?
-
Well?
-
Efficients Chapter four, verse sixteen says this from whom the
-
whole body join and knit together by what every joint supplies,
-
according to the effective working by which every part does
-
its share cause us growth of the body for the
-
edifying of itself in love. You see, every part must
-
do its share so that the body can grow. And
-
so I want to encourage all of us. Thank you
-
some of you when I see your faces across this room.
-
I've known you all for a long time. We have
-
been to different plants together, We've been planting churches together.
-
All of us have a role to play. I pray
-
we will never come to a place where we look
-
at the church as a c up where we come
-
and I want to gain the benefits of this club. Course,
-
all I can tell you is the church has got
-
not much of benefits to offer other than labor and loyalty,
-
because that's what the Lord demands of us, labor and loyalty.
-
And so you know in your book there is this chart.
-
I don't know how to teach the chart, but you
-
know it breaks it down what we are essentially. One
-
thing to do is to help everyone break it down
-
into bite sizes. Then you realize that we all have
-
a role to play.
-
You see.
-
The first thing is understanding what God's diet is. God's diet,
-
Remember we say it was how we interpret the scripture.
-
And so the diet, feel the earth and have dominion
-
over things of the earth. That's what the scripture says
-
in Habaku, that is the diet. Then what do we
-
need to do. What is the daily brain that we
-
need to offer up unto the Lord? Well is to
-
go and make disciples. And I want you to know
-
all of you can make disciples. If you are a parent,
-
your responsibility is to disciple your children really in the
-
ways of the Lord. It's a big responsibility. But if
-
there's one life that you can so into and do well,
-
do that well as well. Because you want to teach
-
them the ways of the Lord. You want to teach
-
them also to go and carry out this mandate that
-
the Lord has for us. So the tide is we
-
start with who we have, where we are, what we have.
-
You know, it could be just doing things here in
-
church first. And then the leaven of course is be
-
ready to be sent out. Be ready to be sent out.
-
Sometimes that's why it's needed. That's why sometimes when we
-
do things like all right, the homes, we are going
-
to schedule you to go out to the community and
-
everyone community Saturday, I want to go eat some Satday.
-
I want to to play off Satday. I got a
-
lot of things to do. Usually it's just one Saturday
-
a week a year. The most is two Saturday is
-
a year that we encourage the homes to go out
-
to the community. But really I do get a lot
-
of excuses. I pray that and sometimes that is the
-
level that we have introduced, the scent out and the
-
discipline part. The discipline part basically is discipleship. It's so
-
important for us to disciple our homemies, to tell them, well,
-
there is a reason why we go out to the
-
communities to help them, because some people will be like you,
-
nothing else better.
-
To do this?
-
No, really, we got we all have better things to do.
-
But this is the better thing that we are supposed
-
to do according to the scriptures, to love the people
-
around us and to help them because we have been
-
blessed to be a blessing.
-
Amen.
-
Then there's level two God's diet. Okay, the one thousand
-
times one thousand, I mean, we are really believing in
-
that because really we need to see God's Kingdom grow.
-
God's Kingdom grow. The only way you can grow one
-
thousand people is to actually take stock of the one
-
thousand people that we have and that's the reminder. Back then,
-
we were telling every leader, take stock of every person,
-
every person in your homes. Please make sure that you
-
care for each one of them. And back then we
-
had two hundred and fifty leaders, and so we told
-
the two hundred and fifty leaders, make sure you take
-
care of the seven hundred and fifty who are not leaders,
-
and disciple them, teach them. You see, the church is
-
a place for discipleship, just like families are a place
-
where we teach and instill discipline in children's lives. That
-
is the reality of it. But many times today the
-
church does not want to disciple people because it's hard
-
and people don't like to be disciples, just like many
-
times families today don't parent their children. It's very important
-
for us to be parents to our children, just like
-
we are disciplers to those who are followers of Christ
-
in the church. This is our responsibility. And so what
-
do we say, make a list. We told our leaders
-
to account for every person, every person in your homes,
-
see them grow, want to help them mature. You know again,
-
sometimes people be like, oh, you're not tells better to do?
-
Is it? You know?
-
I I'm happy not being careful I'm happy not being
-
known here. I'm happy to just glide thrue my church life.
-
But we are not supposed to just glide. True, we
-
are people who are relational. That's how God has made
-
us again, made in God's image. And God's image is
-
a trinitarian image, Father's Son, Holy Spirit. That's why it
-
says God is love. God is Love tells me that
-
if we are made in His wonderful image means we
-
are never made to stand alone because God was never alone.
-
It was always Father's Son, Holy Spirit. It was relational,
-
and that's why the way we are made is to
-
relate to one another. That's why the fellowship of believers
-
is something that is so important. Even though some people
-
be like, actually don't need church lie today, church like
-
what like so so institutionalized. It's needed because we are
-
people who relate to one another. And the commandments is
-
all about relationships. It's all about respecting relationships because if
-
you summon it all together, comes down to two things.
-
Love God, relate to him and love one another relate
-
to one another. And so we encourage everyone to make
-
a list. Make sure you take note of those who
-
are under your care and see them raised up so
-
that they too can be someone who will one day
-
go out and plant it. Just you know science, I
-
tell you, are you really a plantage? I remember there
-
was one time I sat in this car of this
-
he was quite a powerful evangelist. I remember I picked
-
it up for the airport and he entered the car.
-
The first thing he asked me is that are you
-
going to plant chage soon? And I'm like, huh, what
-
talking to you?
-
Man? Now? I mean, who thinks about that? Right?
-
You all come to church like and you know, you're like,
-
I come to church because I want to start another
-
church or I want to But actually that's what the
-
Lord wants us to do. He wants us to keep pioneering,
-
keep starting because if you think about it, there are
-
many people who have not yet known who God is.
-
The loss, you see, that's our greatest challenge, right, the
-
loss and the truth is here in Malaysia. There are
-
many who are still lost. In fact, the many people
-
in whom we don't there even reach out to other
-
ones who are lost.
-
So remember this. I pray that the Lord.
-
Will continue to stir within our hearts and let this
-
not be something that you're afraid of. But look forward
-
to because together we go much further. If we do
-
it alone is going to be challenging. And so we
-
believe God's diet is by a certain time if everyone
-
reaches out. If all one thousand people in ext church
-
just reach out to one person, think about it and
-
she overnight you you become two thousand. It's as simple
-
as that. Everyone just pray for one person. If that's
-
what it starts with, then start by praying that your
-
love wants be safe, your colleagues be safe. And don't
-
just pray it once, pray it consistently. I pray for
-
my father for fifteen years, if not more, every day
-
until it became like a noisy, resounding gong. But it
-
was the days in which sometimes I forget to pray
-
that I'm convicted that don't give up. Then there was
-
the reminder when he eventually gave his life to Christ.
-
I believe that we all have a responsibility. This is
-
what we can do. This is our tithe this is
-
our offering unto the Lord. Amen, pray, pray, you don't
-
ever give up. And you know what, when we want
-
to account for something, it helps when we are able
-
to break it down. That's the only reason why we
-
are breaking it down some Sometimes when we do this
-
people are like, oh, th detail and so administrative. But
-
administration sometimes helps with growth, It helps with taking into
-
a count who is under our care. Because finally, we
-
are called to make it count. Don't just make a list,
-
don't just make a commitment. Make it count. And that
-
means that everyone should be accounted for because everyone is
-
of importance and of value to God. So remember this.
-
We need to keep being radically obedient to the Lord,
-
keep being united, keep being generous with our time, our treasure,
-
our talent. We need to keep investing. We need to
-
keep redeeming the time. Remember the ten percent used to
-
redeem the ninety percent. If you keep saying that I
-
don't have time for anything, I want to encourage you
-
to try this. So time sow time into what is important.
-
That means if you have not sown your time unto
-
the Lord to be with him, I want to encourage
-
you start by doing that. Because I tell you what,
-
I'm not even asking you for ten percent of twenty
-
four hours to be given to the Lord daily. That's
-
two and a half hours if you can, great, But
-
I'm not going to be methodical about that. All I'm
-
saying is so time, and you redeem time. You will
-
find yourself being able to have more time to do
-
the things that the Lord has purposed in your heart.
-
But start by sowing it to the right person. Amen,
-
make it work, make it count. There is a warning
-
at the end of this, and the warning is from
-
Luke chapter thirteen versus six nine. I'm coming to an end,
-
and so maybe the band can be on stand by.
-
And there was this parable that Jesus taught off, and
-
he says a certain man had a victory planted in
-
his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and
-
found none. Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard,
-
look for three years, I've come seeking fruit on this
-
victory and find none. Cut it down. Why does it
-
use up the ground. But he answered and said to him, sir,
-
let it alone this year also until I dig around
-
it and fertilize it. And if it bears fruit, well,
-
but if not, after that you can cut it down.
-
You see, there may be those who have not responded,
-
no matter how much you try. But we are still
-
counting on each one, and the Lord has not cut
-
us off yet. I pray we won't ever be detached
-
from the main by Its very very important. That's why
-
we are also telling our leaders. You know, the truth
-
is we are all called to be fruitful. To be fruitful.
-
What we have in Christ Jesus is not just eternal life,
-
which we are grateful for, but it's also abundant life.
-
It's both eternal and abundant life. If we are not
-
experiencing abundant life here and now, then we have to
-
check where is our focus.
-
And so.
-
My prayer is that we will continue to bare food,
-
because the scripture does say that if they continue not
-
to barefood, you know what will happen. You will be
-
uprooted and thrown away. I pray that that wouldn't happen
-
because God is working towards building his kingdom here on earth,
-
which means that every one of us, as believers in
-
the lawd Jesus Christ, have a role to play. He
-
gives us, He has given us a responsibility. The question
-
is are we cooperating with him? Very very important, and
-
that is the call to action. You know, I want
-
you all to ponder upon what has been shared. I
-
know it's a lot, it's heavy, not always the easiest
-
to digest. But all I'm saying is this, if it's
-
anything you need to catch, all of you have a
-
part to play in building God's kingdom. And I want
-
to share very quickly, just some very quick thoughts about
-
how Jesus taught on the leaven, because whenever Jesus taught
-
about the eleven, he's teaching it in relation to the
-
Kingdom of God. What can we do to make it count?
-
You see it, just a little bit of leaven would
-
spread right through the whole lump of dough.
-
That's how it works.
-
Okay, if you're a Brein maker, you use years as
-
the leaven. And this is sound the truth that Jesus
-
has taught. We can study the scriptures and you realize
-
this first truth is this, The Kingdom of God comes
-
to our earth from outside the earth. Remember that it
-
didn't start here. It has come here. It has to
-
be put into our society. It doesn't spring from mankind
-
because no human being can build the Kingdom of God.
-
It is actually beyond our human capacity to do such thing.
-
To even build this heaven, this utopia is impossible. We
-
have tried again and again to create it for our children,
-
but we can't do it. It has actually come from outside.
-
That is what is man.
-
When you read John one one and he says, in
-
the beginning was the Word, and the word was God,
-
and the Word has now terrible knackled amongst us. That's
-
the song that we just sang. He inhabits us, he tabernacles,
-
He has made a home in us. The Kingdom of
-
God has come from outside. It has to be put in,
-
just like the master set had to be put into
-
the soul before anything can happen, just as the years
-
had to be put into the door before anything can happen.
-
So when Jesus came to our planet, the Kingdom of
-
God was being planted into our society. It was being
-
put in the soul, just like it was being put
-
in the door. Can you see that? And that's why
-
I tell people that the Kingdom of God is here.
-
It has already begun the day Jesus came and made
-
his home amongst us. Because sometimes we find it hard
-
to imagine the Kingdom of God, king Heaven, Matniger.
-
What is it?
-
Well, we still live in this world, and this world
-
is still governed by the pre of This world is
-
an evil governance. But yet God's Kingdom is already here.
-
Some teachers will say it has been inaugurated. That means
-
it has begun. It's not completed yet because we haven't
-
seen His kingdom come and his will completely unfold. But
-
it has begun and we praise God for it. Second
-
thing we need to realize is the King of God
-
works from inside, and that is why it is sometimes
-
largely unnoticed. When you put a seat in the ground,
-
you don't notice it at first, do you. You don't
-
you put it in the ground. Even when you see something,
-
the growth is usually slow and no one will turn
-
aside to see. I've never actually seen someone plan a
-
plant and then going to stand there and watch it grow.
-
You've got to have a lot of free time to
-
be able to do that. Right.
-
They may notice that it's a little bigger than it was,
-
but it's nothing sensational because it's working.
-
On the inside.
-
You see, the seed is working in the soil, just
-
like the yeast is working in the door, invisibly, working
-
from the inside. But nevertheless, the potential is enormous, enormous,
-
and nothing can stop it from developing. Remember that the
-
third thing is this what I just said, we can't
-
stop it. You can no more stop Christianity from spreading
-
than you can stop the sun from rising. That's my
-
honest belief. You see, the spread may not be very spectacular.
-
It is the fourth thing. No one will stop and
-
look at it. Every now and again, we may notice
-
that something has changed, but it is almost so imperceptible
-
to the world that is longing for sensation. You know,
-
sometimes the world is more intrigued with someone who can
-
bend spoons than the gospel. That's the truth. The world
-
is looking for sensation. The world does not realize that
-
the Kingdom of God is growing. They don't notice it.
-
They don't want to notice it. But lives are being
-
changed in our world by the Lord Jesus Christ.
-
Amen.
-
I believe it with all my heart, Juan, Just that
-
testimony tells me that lives are being changed, one person
-
at the time, one day at a time. See, the
-
world is not interested. The world doesn't take notice. It
-
is like the sea growing and the years working. If
-
the beginning was a handful of men, the last product
-
of it all will be a multitude that no one
-
can count. It all began when Jesus was walking along
-
the sea of Galilee, and he pulled up a couple
-
of brothers who were no bodies. They shook this world
-
around and turn it right side up. Hallelujah, Praise God,
-
because today I believe one day the Kingdom of God
-
will be complete, because the leese leavens the whole lump
-
of though. Just like the masts, Sey will go out
-
and keep growing and growing until the tree reaches his
-
full high. See, the Kingdom of God will go on
-
growing and spraying until God has everybody he wants in it,
-
until the people from every kindred, tribe and tongue are
-
sitting down in that kingdom, until the nations have come
-
from east, west, north and south and have sat down
-
with Abraham is exact, Jacob and the rest of the prophets.
-
I believe that with all my heart. Do you find
-
that exciting that you have a part to play? Because
-
it is great to know that this is the only
-
kingdom that is like this, and we are a part
-
of it.
-
I know it's not.
-
Spectacular in the world's eyes. It's not spectacular as spectacular
-
as revolutions and parties. But when everything is done and dusted,
-
I tell you what will remain God's Kingdom will remain.
-
That's stand The question is are we going to be
-
a part of it or outside it? Or are we
-
just going to be bystanders. I pray we will all
-
put our hands to the plow and let's keep praying, listening, obeying,
-
and witnessing.
-
That's what you got, Calida.
