Generosity | Now the why-Elder Terrence

This is a time that we're going to be getting

into the word. And you're hearing that just now, that's

the movie voice. Revival starts here. Yeah, that's that's the

movie voice. Actually, my voice is high. It's a you know,

it's tone. It high, So you know, it's just fun

when I can you know, do stuff like that. Yeah,

praise the lot. What are we going to be doing

this morning? Well, we know that next week is the anniversary,

and you've been learning a lot about giving. Ah, but

what is this thing about generosity? Why should we be generous? Generosity? Now?

The why? That's the title for today's message, Because there

must be a purpose behind everything that we have learned.

It's not so much just about give, give given? What

is this purpose for giving? And I'm gonna be sharing

scripture with you this morning and it's actually something that

you know you won't normally associate with generosity. But even

as the Lord spoke to my heart, I pray that

this word this morning will capture your attention just as

it captured mine. Yeah, so we're gonna be looking at well, yeah,

just before I get that, let me just tell you

something about generosity. Right, It's really funny, at least to

me and her. So yesterday I was in the car

with al Mabel and we were going for dinner, and

then after that she was telling me, Wow, you always

look so good in photographs. Uh, not like me. I mean,

just look at you. You look so young. You know,

your your skin and your face looks nice. You know,

there's no blotches, you know, no wrinkers. It looks so good. Hey,

what soap you use? Her? So I said, I just

use the handsap blind the counter. What you use the

hand soap? Yeah? Then she said, I tell you what.

You know, it's so unlike me. You know, I really

have to take care of my face and you it's

so easy. But you know I've got I got this

facial soup on the counter. Why didn't you use myne?

I say, no, thank you? Why why do I need

something you're grumbling about whereas I'm using the hand soap

and it's okay. So you see, generosity is like that.

Sometimes people are going to be generous and are we

going to accept it or not? Like Elmbos being very

generous to me, I said, no, thank you. But you

know the Lord is telling us, irrespective of how people

are generous or not, we are to be generous, So

why be generous? Reading from Luke ten thirty to thirty five,

and it says then Jesus answered and said to him.

Now you will know that Jesus was answering a question

quite unrelated to what we are talking about. But I

hope you gleaned something from it. A certain man, this

is Jesus. Okay, Jesus, you cannot talk in any ordinary voice.

A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and

fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him,

and departed, leaving him half dead. The Bible says a

certain man. Jesus said, a certain man. Do you know

that Jesus didn't say, let me tell you a story.

He didn't say that. He went straight to the point,

and he said, a certain man. And you know, since

he is God after all, and he was there from

the beginning, he's probably seen every character known to man.

He's seen every incident known to men, because he can see.

He could see everything, right. So he is talking about

a certain man. And I tend to believe. Okay, this

is just my belief that this is a true story.

I tend to believe. So Jesus said, a certain man

went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among thieves,

who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed,

leaving him dead. I asked this myself, this question, why

on earth did they strip this guy? You know, they

didn't wound him and strip him. You know, they stripped

him and wounded him. And that is the standard of

the world we live in. The standard of the world

we live in is trying to build to us. The

standard of the world that we are living in, is

trying to embarrass us, is trying to make us feel small,

is trying to make us feel useless. The world doesn't

choose to lift us up. The world chooses to destroy us.

So here we have this situation where the thieves wounded him.

And who is the greatest thief in our life. It

is the devil. The Bible says that this joker comes

to steal, kill, and destroy. That's his purpose. So if

you wonder why your life is going through some struggle,

don't wonder any further. Just understand what actually is happening.

There is a force that is trying to get you down. Now,

really this is important because you know that God does

not bring you down. What does God do? He picks

you up and he lifts you from what the myriy

cray clay, you know, it's myrie clay is a real

sticky gook. It's horrible. You know, when I was young,

during across country, we used to run across this great

a plane of red mud with no trees. And our

cross country was always during rainy season. So you run

in there nice and clean, and you come out all red.

And let me tell you you try running that and

see what happens. The mud starts to stick to your

shoes and then it gets very thick. And then from

a run you can bally walk from belly walk, you

get stuck. And what does the Bible say? Jesus lifts

us up from this clay and sets us on a

solid rock. I need you to know that the world

is out to get you. So what did they do?

They stripped him of his clothing because they wanted to

embarrass him. But they're not satisfied with embarrassing you. You

know what the devil wants to do. He wants to

hurt you, He wants to wound you. Wound you could

be your pride, could be a heart wounded heart. Oh

she left me. What am I gonna do? My heart

is so broken wounded, I'm going to end my life. Really,

you want to end your life because somebody rejected you.

The world rejected Jesus, but he gave his life for us.

Don't waste your life on people who cannot see your worth.

Do not fall to pieces because somebody else rejects you.

Because the one who should have rejected you says, your mind,

the one who really knows you for who you are said,

don't worry about it, your mind. So here we have

a situation where they wounded him and then these robbers

they left him, you see, leaving him half dead. You

must understand your situation is designed to cripple you. So

when you're going through a tough moment, don't fall to pieces.

Don't be stressed out. Know what is happening, Encounter it,

you know how you counter it. Have a very simple solution.

Worship the Lord, Because in the presence of the Lord,

can anything rotten stay or not. In the presence of

the Lord, can anything bad stay. So you're having trouble.

So you're having a tough situation. Worship the Lord. What

you want to worship the Lord when you're feeling that,

that's the time to worship the Lord. Because the Bible

has just pointed out to us that it is not

God that did that to us. Okay, who was it?

Who's the enemy? Because the enemy was out too ridiculous

and destroy us. So knowing that is a great liberation

because now I know who's behind it. All I know

how to counter it. Worship the Lord and you will

break free. You will break free. But that's not the message.

So now we go on to verse thirty one. Now,

by chance, a certain priest came down the road and

when he saw him, he passed on the other side. Wow.

So here we got somebody who is sick and wounded

on the road and somebody is walking by, and I

see that wounded person, and you know what he did.

He went on the other side and he passed by.

This is a priest, Okay, this is a priest who

passed by. It is supposed to be someone who works

with the Lord, who's very close to the things that

I'm that are important to God. You know, when I

read this verse, I had to ask myself a question.

If I was coming to church on a Sunday to

deliver the word of God. All right, I'm like a

priest and I'm coming to ax Bandah Outama to deliver

the word. And there was an accident in front of me,

and somebody is lying on the road. I heard the

Holy Spirit ask me, as praying for you all this morning,

what would you do? What would you do? So? I

thought about it for a while. Then I said, Lord,

before you asked me the question, I wouldn't really be

sure what I would have done. But now that you've

asked me the question, perhaps this is what I would do.

I would call Pastor Stephen and say, do you have

a message? He said no, As I praise the Lord,

preach in season or out of season, You're it because

I got somebody to help, and I would go and

I will help that person. Do you know why? Because

I don't be like that priest who walked on the

other side. God asked me that question to let me

know something. Since you children of His are blessed, you

have anyone here who can come up and give you

the word of the Lord. You know, all he has

to do is stand up and say, Jesus is Lord.

And that's the best message you've ever heard. He just

has to say that one word, that one statement, Jesus

is Lord. You have all you need to take your

forward for the next week, because it is not so

much what he said as the anointing he carried as

the power that was in that word. So now we

have the situation, what would I do? I think I

will call you Pastter Stephen and say I think I'm

going to be delayed. You better get ready. You better

get ready and just be prepared. God expects us, sir,

to be ready like that. You know what that is?

That is generosity because this was a person who had

no means of helping himself. What did that guy do?

He walked on the other side. Being generous is sometimes

an inconvenience, isn't it. It's inconvenient to be generous. And

you know who was the one who gave us the

greatest example, God the Father when he gave Jesus. Don't

you think it was an inconvenience for heaven not to

have Jesus up there. The Bible says that Jesus left

his glory up there to come down and be with us.

We're nicer, We're so nicer. Hey, when he came down there.

He wasn't born in a hospital, you know. I mean,

even if it was born in Kandann Kerba hospital, there

would have been okay, Singapore is a Kandann gurba hospital. Okay,

in case you don't know. But he was just born

in a Kandannkba. He wasn't a hospital. He was born

in a manger. And you know, I have the sock.

Jesus was born in a parking lot. What do you

think the manger was? It was where they put all

the cows, all the you know, the goats, the sheep,

the mules, No mules, it was donkeys and uh horses

And you think, very nice ad the smell. You mean,

they know how to go to the toilet. The animals

know how to go to the toilet. When they want

to go, they just go. And that was a situation

Jesus was born in. So you better believe that Jesus

was inconvenient to come and be for us. You can

be quite sure that God was inconvenienced to be able

to be generous with us. So I need you to know.

You and I both need to know that generosity is

sometimes inconvenient. Oh why do we need to be talking

about this all the time. I think we talk about

this once a year near February, and it's too many

times for you and me. Somebody better tell you because

generosity is in convenient. Okay, So now let's go on

to the next one. Oops, that was too much, too

much of a flick, everything went Now, okay, let's come down,

come down, okay, Reading from verse thirty two, Now, likewise,

a levite when he arrived at the place, came and

looked and passed by on the other side. So now

the homes leader came. The homes leader saw the guy,

and what did he do? He walked on the other side.

Now can you blame the home leader? I mean, if

the priest can do it, what do you want some

of the homes did? Right? Disciple meh imitate me as

I imitate Christ. Hey, guys, I want you to know

that as priests in the Kingdom of God, yours is

the importance to be good disciples. You know, I saw

an example of discipleship this morning. Remember. I know you'll

don't remember because I haven't said this yet, Okay, how

many of your parents here? You are all disciples? Disciples?

Did you know that? Do you know that you are

all disciples? Who are your disciples? Your kids? Where do

you do or you don't do? What are they doing?

They are following you. So if you say I cannot

be a discipler, how wrong are you? You are the

best disciple that can be. Because this morning, when I

was praying for for the message and I was standing

right here, I felt a big hand on my back.

It was John laying his hands and praying for me.

Then I felt a little hand here because John's son

was laying his hands and praying for me. That was

a disciple, man. Did you know that? Did he say

go and lay hands? No, he just instinctively knew came

and he layed. He laid hands on me and prayed.

You know, to the prayer. I said thank you to him.

I didn't say thank you to the father. I'm so touched. Guys,

A leavehight. When he came, he passed by on the

other side. How sad is this? You know what it

tells me? It tells me that we may be a

little bit too used to losing opportunities. Maybe it's a

little bit easy for us to miss out on the

things that matter. By the time I'm finishing this, you

will realize that generosity, the living of generosity, is much

more than the money you gave. It's about the heart

you portray. It's about the openness you have towards the

things of God. It is about how you create in

yourself an atmosphere what God is just willing to cut

through and bless you. I feel very sad that the

LEVI came and he passed by. So maybe the priest

thought him, I don't care what happens to you. You

make sure you're on time. Hey, guys, I don't care

what happens to any one of us. And make sure

you're on time. Okay. You see, if you make it

upon your you take it upon yourself to be on

time in church to honor the Lord. That's worship. But

did you know that if something happened and I was

slightly because I was helping somebody else, that is also worship,

Because ordinarily speaking, I don't think I would do that.

I told you that testimony where the guy's car was

broken down, and I said, oh God, thank you, and

I said, God help the guy never prayed. It was

kind of praiser if you don't the Lord to answer,

because he will answer, you know, he says, I love

that prayer. Now you go and help him. Lord, I've

already passed by him on the road. I'm going somewhere else.

You prayed, and I'm answering that prayer, Go and help him.

I had to turn the car around go. I was

so angry. I really was angry, not angry though, just angry,

you know, because so troublesome, He's so inconvenient. I was

so angry turn the car around. When I went, I said,

just lift up the car bonnet. I went to my car,

took out the jumper cables, pudding. I didn't even talk

to the guy, you know, I just put the jumper

cable and start your car. He started the car. I

didn't even say hi by I just took out, threw

it back in the car, and drove off. Serious, I'm

telling you the truth. But you see, God expects us

to behave in a manner not quite what is expected

of us by the world. He expects us to behave

in a manner that's quite like him. Never forget it.

Was an inconvenience for him to come down to be

with us. It's not a problem for us to help people.

Let's move on. But a certain Samaritan again, a certain

I love it when God makes things very very clear

to us. A Samaritan was somebody that doesn't normally mix

with the Jews because the Jews considered them to be unclean.

I don't want to have anything to do with this.

You know it's a caste system. You know a cast system.

Do you know that they outlawed the caste system in India?

It's outlawed. Do you know that doesn't matter because it's

still practice. Did you know that in certain places in

Militia is also still practice? Guys? What do scripture tell us?

Is there a caste system? There's only a system of love.

There's only a system of generosity. There is no caste system.

I am better than you. I have a degree. You

don't have a degree, Yagofibla degree. Come on, does the

fact that you are more highly educated make you any

greater than the one who may not be as highly educated.

In the world's billionaires, most of the world's billionaires, they're

not university graduates. You know the people worked hard. What

descriptions say, if you don't work, don't eat right. If

you work, you qualify to eat, you qualify to grow,

you qualify to be blessed. Does the Bible say if

you have a degree, then only you will be famous,

Then only you'll be successful. I'm not knocking degrees up

by all means. Get your degrees, get your master's, get

your doctorates. I love calling people doctor. You don't call

I say, you work so hard, Let me call you that.

It's such a blessing. So this was a Samaritan, someone

not normally associated with the Jews. And as he journeyed,

he came to where he was who was the injured

wounded Jew on the side of the road. He came

to where he was, He saw him, and he had compassion.

That's your second lesson. What is the second lesson? Generosity?

Is compassion. God expects us to be compassionate. You know

why God expects us to be compassionate because He was

compassionate from the very first incident in the garden of Eden.

You know how compassionate God was because when he saw

men's futile attempts at clothes making, they sawed a couple

of leaves together. Every time the wind came, the leaves

blew up, left nothing to the imagination. Everything could be seen.

But when God came on the scene, he showed this

is how it was done. He created for them clothes

off leather, clothes from animal skin, and you clothe them.

What was that that worse? Come passion? I mean they

had just disobaide him. Shouldn't he if it was if

it was our Asian parents, first thing, slap on my face?

Why not? Maybe? Now? Not? Not solar go back twenty years,

thirty years, forty years ago. You will not tell your

parents if your teacher beat you, because if you tell

your your parents your teacher beat you, they will come

to school the next day. Give the kin beat him

some more? Why not? You hear stories your grandparents are

not right now? Nowadays the children tell the parents the

teacher looked at me wrong. You are there in the school.

How die you look at my child wrong? That's do

you ever wonder? Why? Sometimes the children maybe whims these days.

When he saw him, he had come passion. Hey, generosity

is compassion. Let's move on. So he went to him

and bandaged his wounds. Hey, nowadays you will not touch

anybody who's bleeding, right or not. You don't know what

disease the person well carry. Did I tell you the

testimony of my daughter? I did right the last time

I was here. So you know when the nurse there

was one one part where the nurse knocked the stringe

after they had taken blood from my daughter, knocked the

stringe and the syringe went up like that and went

down into the surgeon's head through his love gloving got stuck. Now,

how many of you know that's a no, no, okay.

So the first thing he came the next day, when

he came to the room, he said, I know you're

very godly people, and you believe in Jesus Christ. There's

nothing I need to be worried about, right, he asked

my daughter. My daughter said no, no, no, my blood is clean.

Everything's okay because it pierced and his hand was swollen

because where the needle went up, and like ad guys,

look at that. He went and bandaged his wounds. He

didn't care about whether something was dirty or not. He

didn't care whether it was ikey, whether it was horrible.

Did he care? No, he didn't even know the guy

Hey guys, isn't it wonderful if we are generous that way?

Do we need to know the people before we bless them?

Do we need to know who they are before we

do something for them? My scripture tells me, and no need.

If you got something good to be done, just do it,

Just get it done. Look at it, pouring on oil

and wine. Now, what do you think he had the

oil for? Do you think I had the oil for? Funner?

Probably he was needing the oil to do cooking right

on as he's traveling on the way cooking, so he

poured his oil, which would mean he would have less

oil to work with. And you think what the wine?

The wine? The fact that he was pouring wine on

the wounds mean that the wine was alcoholic. Okay, and uh,

probably took some time for it to be made. Did

he care? That was probably the thing he had just

before he slept. Have a glass of wine? Do you

have a glass of Don't answer this question. Do you

have a glass of wine before you go to sleep?

Don't answer this question me. I don't drink wine, shandy

or anything like that. But they did, And what did

he do? He used some of his precious wine to

what pour on the wounds? Why would he do that

disinfectant to make sure it would not get infected? Guys,

here you see this generosity in action. He's now taking

from his personal statu stash, his own personal items. What

is his taking it now? And he is giving it

to a guy he doesn't even know. Guys, another principle

of generosity. You don't need to know who you are

being generous to. You don't need to know you know.

That's why it's so good to give unto the Lord.

That's why it's so good to be generous when aniversary

giving comes around. Do you know why? Because you don't

need to know who it's helping. It's helping people. It's

bringing people to the Lord. It's paying for a service

to help people. Guys, do you and I get in

or not? Do we understand it? What are we doing?

We are getting to somebody whom we do not know.

That's why we give because how many people can we reach?

I mean, truthfully, honestly, how many people can we reach?

We went through the six unpacking series. We're supposed to

bring one person to the Lord a year, and that

would bring us ten thousand by the end of ten

years something like that. Right, Okay, how many people did

we bring to the Lord? Five years? We should be

having five We should already be five thousand by now.

The fact that we haven't reached that is not for

us to be destroyed, but it's first to realize that

we have limitations to where we are, so we bless

those who can go further. Guys, you're wonderful and I

love this. He set him on his own animal. He

set him on his own animals. So now the animal

he was riding he now has to walk. Remember I

said the generosity can be inconvenient. How inconvenient is that?

It seemed like me having to turn my car around,

go through back the traffic again, get to this guy

just to jumpstart his car and take the same route

all over again. He's like that. But you see, the

guy is not like me. Okay, he didn't grumble. Okay,

he just put the guy on his horse or whatever

he was riding. And guess what he did to make

matters even better? He takes the guy to an inn.

He takes the guy to an inn. I mean, I've

already bandaged the guy, right, I've already given him my

wine and given him my oil. Now I've taken you

my animal. Okay, I leave him lying the town. Okay,

now you okay, go No, he takes him to an inn,

and then he brought him to an inn, and then

the Bible says he took care of him. How wonderful

is it when we can take care of people we

don't know? You know, do you know sometimes it's an

inconvenience to receive. You heard about the convenience. It's inconvenient

to give, right, But you know that sometimes it's inconvenient

to receive. You look at the guy who was wounded.

He received all these good things, he received all these blessings.

Could he appreciate it? He was in pain, he was

beaten within a half inch of his life, He was ridiculed.

He had to go through all these things in order

to receive. Do you know that sometimes it's inconvenient to receive?

Do you know? That's why scriptures it is better to

give than receive. Now you understand him vivid color? Why

this is so? And you're receiving a lot of things,

and you're thinking to your so, wha, it's so good.

I'm just getting I'm just kidding, I'm just getting be careful.

What are you supposed to do with what you get?

Don't let your receiving be an inconvenience to you, Okay,

don't let your receiving be an inconvenience to you, all right.

So now it says that on the next day, so

he took him to the inn. He stayed in the

inn one day, because the Bible says on the next day,

all right. On the next day when he departed, he

took out two denary. I think that's two months wages

or something like that, if I'm not mistaken. He took

out too denary and gave them to the innkeeper and

said to him, take care of him, and whatever more

you spend when I come again, I will repay you.

So what would possess such a man? He's already done

so much. Right now, he takes out his own money

and he puts it in the hands of the innkeeper

to look after him. Look, if the innkeeper was in

was someone that couldn't be trusted by Now the innkeeper

realized something, there's something different about this man. Do you

think that when this guy was brought to the inn,

the he told the story, Oh, this is my friend.

So in so probably the innkeeper asked, who's this guy? Said,

I don't know. I found him on the road. He

was he was left four dead after being beaten. I

fixed up his wounds and I'm bringing him here. He

probably and the Bible said, left him for dead, So

probably he was unconscious. I don't know whether he was

lucid or whether he was awake or not. But the

innkeeper would have talked to him. So this is pretty strange.

Here we have this guy and he doesn't even know

who this guy is, and he's asking me to look

after him. And guess what, he's giving me money to

look after him. If I I was a dishonest guy

at that moment, I would have been very honest. I said,

if somebody can be like that, I think I got

a change. Here we have someone who was being so generous.

And then he says if in other words, that he's

telling the guy, don't be worried about the expense, just

go ahead and do what you need to do where

this guy is concerned, I will repay you. Isn't that

so much like your Jesus? Isn't that like the heart

of our Jesus? No matter what situation we are in

what is he saying, don't worry, I'll take care of it.

I'll take care of it. I'll be there to help.

And there are so many people when they're giving an

opportunity to know Jesus, they don't want to know him.

How sad is that they refuse the only one who

wants to help them for nothing in return. You know,

the world, when they help you, is it really helped?

They want something in return? But when Jesus did it,

he gave this guy, gave take care of him. Whatever

more you spend when I come, I will repay. In

look thirty to thirty five, reading from thirty now we're

reading from verse thirty six. Jesus asked, so, which of

these three do you think was enabled to him who

fell among the thieves? And they said, he who showed mercy.

I want you to know that in the area of generosity,

there are some things we can do. There are some

things we can do. You know, when we are asked

to be generous before the Lord, we're just being asked

this question. What can we do? What can we do?

Are we going to live our life taking or do

we want to create a situation in our life where

we are giving what can we do? Jesus never expects

us to do anything that we cannot do. Do you

know that? In fact, Scripture says he never allows you

to be tested beyond what you are able to bear.

In other words, Jesus is telling us that he is

such a just god. Whatever he's told you to do,

you can do it, even if you and I think

we cannot do it. You see, what he tells us

to do is what he knows we can do, not

what we know we can do. Do you understand what

I just said. What he tells us to do is

what he knows we can do, not what we know

we can do. Give you an example. I know I

go back many years. I got new examples, but this

old one seems to seems to fit the bill. I

may have told you this before, but you know there

was a convention. My church is having a convention, and

Passes said, Terence, can you do me a sign believe

us victory for Jesus convention. This was like about forty

years ago. Okay, Now, if I've told you you, if

you know me, you know that I get three upon

a hundred for Art four upon a hundred, the highest

I think I ever got for my art was eight

upon a hundred. I'll be up there, one of the

top students in the class. Then the principal came, say,

must add the arts mark boom down to the middle

of the class. Because I couldn't draw the same my

life and so the pass I said, can you do

me a banner? I said, do you know who you're asking? See,

God knows I can do as far as I know,

I cannot do. So now mine life gave it to me.

So I did it. And you know the time he

did it. The time he gave it to me was

when I was actually sick. I was having jaundice, happatitis

something or the other, you know, way back. So I

was on leave. I said, no, my mind, I'll do it.

So I had canvas, bought canvas, I cut the canvas,

used my mother's sewing machine, and I sow can I so, no,

I cannot, but I did anyway. So I sowed this banner,

long banner. It was like about twenty feet long. Then

I took paper and then I drew squares on the

paper to do lettering. So based on the squares, I

did lettering Believers Victory for Jesus convention. I cut it

out you spin, stuck it under canvas. I traced it

with pencil, took great pain and painted the words there,

and the sign was up in the church for ten years.

I didn't know I could do it, but God knew

I could do it. Even when I was in my

worst situation. I accomplished it. You know why, because he

knew something about me I did not know. Guys, you

gotta know this. There are things you can do. It

doesn't matter whether you know you can do it or not.

God knows you can do it. See that's wonderus thing

about being generous. Being generous is not about what you

can do. It's about what knows you can do. Let's

move onner verse thirty five. There are some things you

cannot do. The guy couldn't look after this man. So

what he he did what he could do. Took him

to an inn, kept him there, paid money. Look after

this guy. When I come back, I will repay you. Guys.

One thing about being generous is having a generous pace.

Realizing that you know there are some things that are

beyond you. So this should encourage you to be generous

with those who can do it. On your behalf. Like

what this man did, here's to Denary look after him. Hey,

how wonderful it is for being able to be able

to say this to the ministry. Here's to Denary, please

look after the believers. Here's to Denary, go out and

seek and save the lost. Here's to Denary. I cannot

go and care for this sick person. Can you send

someone on my behalf? There are some things you gotta know,

some things you can do, some things you cannot do,

so you get others to help you. Do you know

that in generosity there's a building of trust. Yes, you know.

When he gave the innkeeper the studinary, you know what

he created an innkeeper trust. The innkeeper must have thought

to himself, this man doesn't even know this guy who

has been hurt, and yet he cared for him, brought

him to my inn, gave me money and asked me

to look after him and whatever else. When he comes back,

he will repay. You know what a wonderful confession that

is when I come back. God will never leave your

job undone. He will never leave your job undone because

you have a generous spirit when you come back, meaning

that you will return, that you will accomplish what you

your goal is, meaning that you won't be left in

the lunch. Do you realize what a wonderful and powerful

confession that is When I come back. Do you think

he feared that the robbers would come after him? No? Why,

because that's what it is. When you're generous, you got

God looking after you. When I come back, when I

reach the stage, I'll be able to do this. It's

like that there's a building of trust. And do you

know where the innkeeper was concerned. I trust this man.

Do you think the innkeeper would have stinged on the

guy's lunch, giving him just white rice. No, he would

have given him good food. Why because he trusted the

guy who gave him the instruction. You know that when

the world sees how generous you are, they begin to

trust you because it is quite normal for them to

see in the world people who could live for themselves. True,

not the world kind of lives for himself for itself.

But when they see someone who's so openly generous, I

think I can trust this guy. I've seen him in action.

It builds trust. So generosity builds trust. Being generous is

being merciful. Hey, can you imagine if this guy did

not stop, and he was like the other religious people

who walked on the other side, would that have been

showing mercy? Look at your g Jesus, my Jesus. He

is hanging on the cross. He is in distress and

in great pain. And one of the robbers who ridiculed him,

because both did one, then came to his and he said, Lord,

remember me, And what does Jesus say, mercy man? Today

you will be with me in paradise. What mercy your

God showed? And here we think that we cannot come

to the Lord because our sin is so great. Really,

let me tell you how horrible can your sin be?

That while your Savior is hanging on the cross in pain,

you're ridiculing him. How awful is that? But yet you

can then turn to your Master and say, Lord, forgive me.

And what does Jesus do? He doesn't even wait, doesn't

even blink. Today Right now, guys, you have to understand

your God is merciful because he's a generous God. Can

we be like him? Can we live like him? Can

we be as generous as he is? If we trust

the Lord, we can? There is mercy. You're very quiet huh,

I'm either getting to you. Oh anyway, Okay, there's also

a legacy. There's legacy in being generous. What do I

mean by there's legacy in being generous? When that guy

went away? Was he can he could he be seen

anymore by the innkeeper? No, he could not be seen

by the innkeeper anymore. But do you know that he

created a legacy because the guy would have come back.

I know the scripture doesn't say this, but from the

way it's been written, the guy probably did come back,

and he probably paid the innkeeper for whatever extra money

that he was spent. Do you think if this guy

came around again, the innkeeper would not look after him.

The innkeeper will take care of him. You know why,

because there is legacy. He has created a great legacy

that people have taken notice. Today. When I spoke to

that gentleman who pushed me into my car pack and

I thanked him, he said, you remember said you knew

my car. He says, I know you. I've seen you before,

I've seen you come before. I know legacy. Man, isn't

that a wonderful way to live? When you are generous

with your thoughts, When you're generous with your actions. When

you're generous with your words, people will gravitate to you.

That's what will happen. There is legacy, that's it. So

I'm going to be coming to an end soon, So

why be generous? Do you know that God is pleased

with it? God is pleased when we are generous what

descripture says, But do not forget to do good and

to share with such sacrifices. God is well pleased. Oh,

God was pleased with me when I stopped to fix

that car. Probably not please with me the grumbling, But

okailer obedience, love obedience. And little did I know that

many many many years later this story would have some

kind of bearing, some kind of history behind it. So

God is pleased with it. Do you know that God

loves it? One is being pleased, one is love. God

loves it. In Two Corinthians ninety six to nine, it says,

but this I say, he so sparingly will also reap sparingly,

And heo so's boundifully will also reap bountifully. So let

each one give as he purposes in his heart, not

grudutally of necessity, For God loves ah, cheerful giver. God loves.

Is it is it so difficult to do something that

God loves? And here's another scripture. And God is able

to make all grace a bound towards you, that you

always have it, all sufficiency in all things, may have

in abundance for every good work. As it is written,

he has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor.

His righteousness endures for ever. Hey, guys, remember what I

said that it was a declaration of faith. When I

come back, I will give you whatever is a declaration

of faith. How did this guy know that he would

be able to come back? See? Because God was taking

care of things right. This is what the scripture is saying,

always having autos visit me, and abundance in good work

because he is he makes grace a bound towards us. Oh,

how wonderful is this to live such a life where

grace abounds towards you and me? Do you know that

being generous is an investment? Now? How many of you

like investments? Only one person? I asked a question again,

how many of you love investments? Okay, now I see

fifty percent. I'll asked one more time, how many of

you love investments? Okay? Praise the Lord. This is what

description says. Uh. The scripture says that cast your bread

upon the waters. Cast be generous. Cast your bread upon

the upon the waters. Waters is another word for people. Okay,

for you will find it after many days it comes

back to you. Give a serving to seven and also

to eight, for you do not know what evil me

may be on the earth. Scripture is telling us to

be generous. Why, because it's an investment. When you cast

your bread, when you are being generous with people, it

will return to you. What is that investment return on

investment r h I Do you know that God's kingdom

also got R or I returns on investment? What is

God's return on investment? Cast your bread on the waters,

and after many days you will find it. Guys, what

a way to live being generous. God has been generous

to us always. I hope that I've given a sufficient

understanding about how to be generous. Why it is important. See,

generosity is much more than simply just giving. It's understanding

how important it is to God to create an environment

where it comes back to you to look after you.
