You're listening to a message to go from ast church.
-
We hope this message will light up your tea.
-
The title of my message is beyond the Upper Room.
-
Thank you, check TBT, thank you Jesus. I just have
-
to ask, I got all these points. Please give me
-
a good tighter because I get asked a question by
-
x TV order please give us a tightle and I
-
just say whatever you guys talk off, just put it in. Yeah,
-
but beyond the Upper Room only because I do think
-
that you know, as a believer, as Christian, we are called,
-
you know, to live beyond the four walls of the Church. Amen,
-
You're called to live beyond what we could even think
-
or imagine during the CNY. You know, as you talk
-
to different people, you also realize how far you have grown,
-
which means this is how far we have grown in
-
the Lord. Because sometimes you know, when you talk to
-
different ones and all they could just assume me was
-
just problems after problems, or situation after situation. It's almost
-
like there is no room or there is no exit exit,
-
there's no sunlight at the end, there is no light
-
at the end of the tunnel. But as believers, I
-
do believe that we have a way out, and we
-
have a solution.
-
We have you know, away of escape.
-
So it really got me this place just to think
-
about as believers, how much God has deposited within us,
-
the ability to see beyond just the four walls of
-
a church, beyond the four walls of the room, in
-
your life, in your journey, as well as you grow right,
-
there is no such as the date end. If you
-
are a believerd someone say, amen, Really, there is no
-
date end.
-
As a believer.
-
You know in everything, friends, there is a way out,
-
there is hope, there is salvation right Actcepter one, Verse
-
four starts off with this, I'm going away from four
-
to I think verse eight, Verse four starts off with this.
-
And being assembled together with them, he commanded them not
-
to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise
-
of the Father, which he said, you have heard from me.
-
For don't truly baptized with water, But you shall baptize
-
with the Holy Spirit, not for many, not many days
-
from now. Therefore, when they have come together, they ask him, saying, Lord,
-
will you at this time restore the Kingdom of Israel?
-
And he said to them, it is not for you
-
to know the times or odd season, which the Father
-
has put in his own authority. But you shall receive
-
power when you when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You
-
should be my witness to me in Jerusalem, in all
-
Judea years and Maria, and to the ends of the earth.
-
Amen.
-
So I do believe that all of us here are
-
called to live beyond the boundaries of what we could
-
take off. The disciples was really focused on seeing the
-
Kingdom of Israel, the physical kingdom of visual being restored.
-
And however, you know, sometimes you know, once you are fashioned,
-
once we are caught up in the way we think
-
is all we could think of in this room, in
-
this way, in this is my life, this is my
-
something could have happened to us, all right, And because
-
something could have happened to us, it imprinted somebody within us.
-
This is all I deserve in my life.
-
But the Bible here says, and because the Holy Strait
-
is reminding the Apaustus that you are supposed to be
-
caught to the ends of the earth, you're supposed to
-
be caught to live beyond Jerusalem. I think many of
-
us sometimes you're just so stuck with Jerusalem. Really not
-
physically they're so stuck with our ways, So start with
-
our thoughts and how we see life. You know this
-
this Chinese year I was, I had a reunion with
-
my my brother, came back from Singapore, sitting down with him,
-
and you know, and family and stuff, you know, every
-
CN why I'm not sure. Growing up, as has always
-
been as a child, we've been asked like, so, how
-
do you.
-
Do in your exams? Right? Right? You have a report
-
time at the.
-
School and give up report cuts right sometimes CMI also.
-
Is a report cut time was as well.
-
Comparison between siblings and also cousins and stuff, how many
-
age you will get and what position you are in
-
your form, in your class and stuff like that. And
-
after a while I decided, no, I was just too
-
lazy to be caught up in the red race. I
-
decided not to do very well in the classes. So
-
they start asking me not not not not the good
-
testimony back there growing up, but they start asking me,
-
it's only my brother who.
-
Was it's still in the race.
-
Night A one seven A ones and stuff like that,
-
And then like, okay, so that one one person in
-
the family championing that that cause the other person just
-
decided to focus on eating.
-
But sometimes you can get so caught up.
-
This is the way to live our life, right, But
-
God wants to remind us this morning, no matter what
-
we have been through in our growing up years, that
-
we are called to live beyond Jerusalem. We are created
-
by God for a bigger purpose and calling. Although you
-
have heard this before, and you maybe you've been pushed
-
to before, every reminded before. Really I want to want
-
to encourage you. We are called for a bigger purpose
-
and calling in our life. I truly believe everyone of
-
us here we are so uniquely, so uniquely imprinted by
-
God that none of us here are the same. And
-
therefore we must understand and know that you and I
-
do have a purpose here on earth. Besides you know,
-
doing our daily grind, getting married, having kids, going to work,
-
getting a degree, all those it's what we are called
-
to do. But beyond that, there is a calling that
-
only you and I could fulfill. That's why God has
-
given us life and life more abundantly.
-
You and I need to be reminded.
-
Even this Chinese seria right when you go and you
-
re see your relative go like, is this all to life?
-
Really? Is this all to life.
-
You know, the only reason why my brother coming from Singapore,
-
besides seeing my dad is to play fire crackers. To
-
play fire crackers, right, I've never seen somebody is so
-
excited now, different than when you're growing up. But you
-
got no money, right, so you just quick whatever fire
-
creakers you could fight, you know what I mean, the
-
pop up one and stuff like that. Now when you
-
start making good currency money coming from Singapore over here, right,
-
the fire crakers has decided to expand bigger. Right. I
-
saw from the videos it was it was one of
-
those like yo, you should up in the sky and
-
just have a lot bag and stuff like Now it's
-
really like what what Disney closing ceremonies like that. A
-
friend of mine who's working in Singapore also came back
-
and all I could see from all their videos is
-
fire crackers, right, and the fire works amazing?
-
Right, what money could do?
-
But friends, I think, honestly speaking, it's beyond the fire crackers.
-
Is beyond the fireworks, right, And it really reminds us
-
that you know, during this Chinese seriy, right as you
-
meet a relative, right as you talked to them, you
-
you caught up with their news and catch up with
-
their life and stuff like that that we could impart encouragement. Really,
-
your presence is also an encouragement to some of them, right,
-
your spouss and courage you. So therefore we are called
-
for a bigger purpose, not just to finish, to help
-
people finish. They are choices to your cookies. I went
-
to a house and you'll really like come eat and
-
eat like one cookie, punk cracker cookie, cookie, cookie chocolates.
-
So when the right ice cream to my wife, that's
-
that's large, that's breakfast, large, a dinner. But first we've
-
been entrusted by God to be his witness, so over
-
almost over every meal, I want to ask, so how
-
how have you been? Not the better, just really ask
-
how people, how have you been? Because really true the
-
whole year, right, people will go through their journey, their journey,
-
their journey that lies ups and downs, their challenges, you know,
-
and we go to such pace of life whereby to
-
stop for a while to ask people.
-
It's hard.
-
We're all wired to do things on friends and sometimes
-
my text messages is it's.
-
Like have you done this? Have you done that? Right?
-
Very seldom I don't have to ask you whether you
-
eat or not because automatically, if you're hungry, you're going
-
to eat right.
-
You don't have to.
-
Tell me what you eat for lunch because I don't
-
need to know, because I wasn't in the lunch meeting.
-
Because if I know that, I'll be blessed we as well, hallelujah.
-
So therefore, first you'll be entrusted by God to be
-
a sweetness, to carry his presence. I want you to
-
imagine that, friends, if you are caught by God right
-
for every occasion into a meeting room, into a bodroom.
-
Friends.
-
So therefore, we are not just there to represent ourselves.
-
You understand that we're not there in the reunion line
-
to represents ourselves. You're not there, you know, brought me
-
thing to represent ourselves. We also represent God in the picture.
-
Really God in a moment, all right. I remember one time,
-
you know, I was driving. I was driving and someone
-
actually couldn't stop his car and crash into me. It's
-
like nothing much really like the bumper just cast a
-
couple of scratches and stuff like that, right, And I
-
know that some people really so I'm not here to
-
tell you what to do what not to do, but
-
this was my response.
-
I look at her. She was she panicked.
-
She I'm so sorry, you know, I crashed your car,
-
and you know, stuff like that. And I think she
-
was panic because she thought she has to pay a
-
lot of money, right, I know people do it once
-
scratches actually repined the whole doll.
-
I understand that I've been there before.
-
I can before the same time I scratch, pin back
-
the whole doll, okay, and stuff like So. I remember that,
-
you know that at the very point in time you
-
have a choice, like what's your response is gonna be?
-
Are you gonna need pick? Are you going to like
-
one scratch one one? One? Thing?
-
Right? I remember looking at.
-
Her, I said say, I say, miss, don't worry about it.
-
It's just a very very small, like one or two
-
lines to need. It's okay, you know, a couple of polish,
-
it will be fine. Of all the cards a bit
-
older already. So that's me all right. Then, I remember that,
-
you know when I got in when I actually crashed
-
into someone else, right, very something, but once about you
-
do one crashing someone else? I were like, lord, you
-
know I've extended this favor to someone else, though, would
-
you I extended this grace to someone else. I extended
-
this mercy to someone else. Lord, I would like to
-
experience one. Does he like to receive mercy as well?
-
You know, how do we understand? I'm trying to say, right,
-
and I did? Okay, the I show you I crashed
-
it into a murk. Okay, one of two scratches, same
-
one or two scratches, Okay, the bumper still in place,
-
halle Ah praist. Everything was okay. It's just that he
-
could if he wanted to. If you do not understand,
-
you could if you wanted to, because it's your weaker
-
nothing like God. Please, I love to receive that, and
-
I did, and I did. I did receive that. And
-
I do believe, friends, that when we've been trusted by
-
God to represent God in that meeting room. Friends, how
-
many of you know that you're not the only Christians
-
out there? You're not the only believer in the world
-
out there. When you're at someone else mercy, right, and
-
the mercy is given to you when you receive it.
-
When you receive it, friends, you recognize that you've been
-
entrusted by God to extend the mercy to someone else,
-
just like you extended the mercy to someone else. So
-
therefore it's all starts with the promise. Friends, The Bible says,
-
it all starts with the promise. It's all stuff with
-
God's promise, God's whisper to Moses and the bush. I
-
want you to that, because many times in our journey, friends,
-
we Forgod. We can forget. We can forget, we can
-
we don't remember because of different things that God always
-
starts with a whisper.
-
Calling out your name.
-
God always starts with a notch in your heart to
-
bring to remembrance. God always used circumstances.
-
Movies, right song, the news to bring to remembrance his word,
-
his promise.
-
I want to let you know, friends, you can't run
-
away from God.
-
You can't. Actually you can't.
-
I only heard the story that someone just told God, God,
-
please leave me alone. And God did, and and and
-
and this creature just said that he really died and
-
miserable death because at his death, bait, he will just
-
croyd to God. I said, what's happening to me? Could
-
you imagine the whole existence of your life? You just
-
told the Lord leave me alone. The Bible says, you
-
cannot run away from his presence. So the metal way
-
you are with your journey, or what what choices you
-
have made right, or what choices that other people made
-
about you, That doesn't change his call upon your life,
-
his word for you. Moses, friends, ran away from Egypt.
-
I mean, come on, you educated the best of university.
-
You know, you know, But because he couldn't control his
-
temper that very moment. One incident, friends, you know me,
-
you know that one incident something that could really change
-
your life. That one incident, friends, just you lost it.
-
You lost it. Keep someone Moses killed. Someone ran away
-
to the back of the desert tending sheeps whereby last
-
time he had people attending the ships. Now he has
-
to do the job. And the burning bush God remembered Moses.
-
So what let you friends? It's all stuff with the promise.
-
Some will may think that, you know, I'm so bad,
-
I'm not good enough that I will have any promise
-
of God. There's no specific promise. Every Bible verse is
-
a promise, It's true. But I want to let you
-
know that also that God knows you by name. So therefore, first,
-
what what inspires me may not inspires you, But what
-
inspires you may not inspires me. What gods how God
-
speaks to me will be very different how God speaks
-
to you. I mean, not everyone reading the Bible had
-
the burning bush experience, because if it is, we'll be.
-
Looking at every bush, this bush burning? Is this bush burning?
-
Is it right?
-
No, don't have friends, So therefore, friends, I do believe
-
that all of us here have God's promise. So every
-
promise requires waiting. Come on, every promise requires waiting. We
-
just don't like waiting, my friends. A time prayer for
-
the promise to come to pass, is it true? A
-
time period for the promise to come to pass? As
-
human being, waiting, it's not our strongest strength. I think
-
back in those days before the technology, we think, what's
-
our strongest strength? You wait for a bus? Okay, this
-
was before person, before all, this was s j busses.
-
If you're living, you understand, okay, Sejia busses, buss mini,
-
I name, what is that?
-
You say?
-
This? The buss Mini, Sjia busses and stuff like that. Right,
-
So we were very accustomed to waiting for busses.
-
We know that the bus will come on.
-
Friends, whether or not the buss that will come and
-
pick you out space for you to squeeze it. It's
-
a separate story altogether. I've actually before if you're back
-
in those times, it's your buss number. The bus is empty, however,
-
bus where we decide not to stop just bypass you.
-
And I've known people friends who wait for the next
-
one to come. Very seldom say oh the bus messed
-
me read we decided to walk home.
-
Very seldom.
-
One friends, as everyone who's in the bus, stage bus stop,
-
we'll all wait for the bus rain or shine. Every's
-
raining is even worse because the seat that they desire
-
you cannot see one friends, everyone way standing on the
-
seat because the water that's from the road will overflow
-
to the bus stop and there will be cramming every
-
way way kramming inside could imagine the body order in there.
-
But every promise to cryst waiting, just like live friends.
-
Sometimes you wait. So on Thursday, chay some south of
-
your celebrating. I went to JBG to sort or something
-
or I paid a summer long time ago, but it
-
was still outstanding on my GBGP. So I just thought,
-
no Thursday month, nobody would be around but low and
-
behold when they eleveled something. I'm so sorry, sir, you're
-
the number for to pay the summer or finish read.
-
I want to shream the the peper article. I thought
-
you see that.
-
These people say there's no such as a finish number,
-
but anyway to come back at two o'clock. So I
-
came back one forty five, and they had this very
-
rare system, very very rare system. You're supposed to scan
-
the QR code for the q number, right, just supposed
-
to scan. All of us was frantically out of the
-
hot sun scanning the QR code.
-
Right.
-
But friends, they turn off the system. So every time
-
you scan it, you just pop up there. I'm so sorry,
-
the number is finish red right, come back in another day,
-
but we know that the counter's gonna be open at
-
two o'clock. By two clock, I'm sure. So almost a
-
frantically scanning scanny. You want to be number one, Want
-
to be number one? Want to be number one because
-
you want to wait? There we craze waiting, friends, It
-
really we promise you crie waiting and also a time
-
for the to be dependent on the promise, to fulfill
-
the promise. This is one of the hardest things, no, friends,
-
because I think in our life and your journey of
-
upbringing right. A lot of things have been promised to
-
you but now will come to pass by someone you trusted,
-
someone you've known close to you, someone is not close
-
to you promise you something that you go like, okay.
-
This is why.
-
Like, for example, someone not close we say one day
-
we catch up. Okay, oh coffee. After fifteen years you
-
catch up. Those are not very close that you understand.
-
But those who are close to you when you say
-
catch up. And I know people now church really take
-
those statements very seriously. One how do you see see
-
ketch up? But after two years never catch up with me?
-
One still waiting. It's really dependent on the promises. Who
-
don't the one who made the promise? Right, Isaiah forty
-
Wait upon the lots you know the sscripture shall renew
-
their strength. They shall moount on like wings, like ears,
-
they shall not they shall run, and not be weary,
-
and not faint. Wa think with expectation. Those that weigh
-
upon the Lord shall renew their strength. I guess what
-
it really means is that when you wait, friends, when
-
you wait, you're supposed to be in a sense stationary
-
at a particular's space, not location of friends, not just
-
the bus stop space restleless your heart.
-
You're not going to be r waiting.
-
And putting yourself checking all the app for whether it's
-
grab where there's something else to look for transportation. When
-
you wait for something, you just wait for something. I
-
think many times we are always looking for solution, constantly
-
looking for an answer. Everything is a solution out there.
-
But the Bible us is asking us to wait upon
-
the Lord. Waiting waiting, it's expecting something to happen.
-
It's called hope.
-
Really waiting for something that happens, call hope. Think about
-
it for a moment. Just everybody's low some d year.
-
Everybody had a chance to low some and you know
-
everybody just see a lot of nice greetings out there
-
from good business to after that decide to be creative
-
when you find your life partner and you have twins, right,
-
and you have your pet dog and stuff like that,
-
and there's a nice hope, friends, and we're hoping that this.
-
Everyone's hoping that DC will be kinder, nicer, less surprises, right,
-
if you're hoping and throughout the whole year, we are
-
just cling on to this hope that God will see
-
this come to pass. Waiting help us to reset our priorities.
-
Think about for a moment. Because you have to wait,
-
your priorities get resetted. It helps you to slow down
-
for a moment to think what's really important. When you
-
go to a gem, praise the loss of you're so
-
brave to go up to Pinang and down down south
-
your whole during the gem time, Right, you go up
-
and down and what you have to go to really
-
resets your priority because you can't go anywhere but just
-
go along with life already that the road.
-
That's prepared me in front of you.
-
Right, you wish your car could fly, but couldn't you
-
wish you could take the emergency leader and you're the
-
only one with a special pass everywhere. Look at you
-
were greed and envy who right? You wish we just
-
turned on and some led switch in your car that
-
had flashes blue light right our change But the vehicle
-
one time? Okay, the land crew from the one from
-
from from a secondhand shop or rather from a guy
-
who plays forward drive and the record itself. He had
-
a shot wave radio all right, but he also in
-
started a police siren. He also is a police siren
-
in he goes to the jungle.
-
All the time.
-
Right, if we goes in younger, there was a we
-
were testing of the police siren not here, right, but
-
we didn't use it. We only use it to we
-
use only use it doing cammony.
-
To wake people up, all right.
-
It's devotion type, right, So we think help us to
-
reset our priorities. We think we knew our strength. Come on,
-
because you don't have to run helter skelter, You don't
-
have to go everywhere and everywhere. It renews your strength.
-
Strength comes always comes for purpose, and friends, you think
-
about it, that God gives you strength for a reason
-
and for a purpose. We so much strength we you friends,
-
After a while, there's only so much could take off
-
yourself looking in front of a mirror. No body builder,
-
I know, built the body with such strength for him
-
to be a mare alone. There's nobody that goes to
-
the gym and build really good guns on arms around
-
the arms. There friends to be a mire alone and
-
come out wear really beggy clothes. I don't want people
-
to know I've not seen that. I have not seen that.
-
Friends.
-
I used so back then before this modern day gym
-
came up, right, friends, you know those old school gym
-
up in the shop second floor, first floor on those
-
really all nothing nothing nothing nothing, nothing electronica or mechanical one.
-
So there was a there was a there was an
-
anchor that was managing the gym I used to go
-
to when I was fifteen years old, former bodybuilder and
-
this stuff like that.
-
Friends, he was huge, huge, but he.
-
Rarely small little singlet, small little single friends carrying it
-
out of the whiter parts of these friends. Right, I
-
want to day got cool you, I'll give you. I
-
got beggy size T shirt I give first. I've not
-
I've not seen anyone who works out tried to hide
-
their masters. So therefore, friends, once God gives you strength,
-
the strength is not for you to enjoy alone, enjoy
-
your loone mean to say that you look in front
-
of the mirror that, oh I love my bicep?
-
Who right, I love my tray?
-
Said?
-
Oh yeah right, put more oil.
-
I've not seen anyone who just indulges themselves in front
-
of the mirror that way. That got oh yo, let
-
me hide, let me hide it, okay, let me wear
-
beggy cloes.
-
Who I don't people to see?
-
No, so it could you imagine if that's real for
-
the physical body, how much more realforce spirituous strength, how.
-
Much more rail?
-
And God said, those wait upon us shall renew their strength.
-
Strength always comes for a purpose, and for a reason.
-
The strength may not be for yourself and before someone
-
you are going to meet, whereby who really needs your
-
help support prayer to journey with them through the course
-
of life, whereby the person don't have enough strength anymore.
-
So sometimes you always think that this strength is only
-
for myself. See, only God knows your life journey. Therefore
-
he knows what strength you need. God knows your life journey.
-
Therefore he knows what strength you need for this life.
-
He doesn't prepare you give you extra strength because your
-
driver needs a bit more. Chess macilla, you see the
-
white rolling? Ok? Sorry God, So therefore God no, So
-
we think it reminds us who we trust? Who us
-
who we trust? Reminds us who we trust? All right, however,
-
we don't like to wait. We want now immediately, you
-
know that, right, We don't like to wait. Galisious five,
-
verse seventeen says, reminds us is the flesh last against
-
the spirit, right, the spirit against the flesh. And this
-
to a country to one another so that you don't
-
do the things that you wish. So the flesh says,
-
don't wait, don't wait, don't wait. It's hot under the
-
hot sun, under the hot weather, and you know that
-
it's reachable within your strength. Those are every thing publics
-
from transportation.
-
Before you understand this.
-
Your house is not very far away, maybe about two kilometers,
-
and that's about twenty four minutes walk. Not far away,
-
but yes, under the hot sun, you know the bus
-
is gonna come. So the time for you to take
-
to go back home, the time for you wait for
-
the buses about the same. But the flash, you say,
-
I had to wait for the bus. How sure are
-
you this bus that's coming later. Right, we'll pick you up.
-
I've been on before. On the bus friends, no space.
-
I really believe the script you say, God, we'll make
-
away where it seems to be no way. Seriously, I
-
was literally hanging out from the steps of the bus. Right,
-
those that we've been there before. One hand, you're holding
-
onto the railing where you go up the bus. Word
-
last time, the bus used to have this railing at
-
the windows. So one hand there, one hand the other way,
-
and all of.
-
Us who were kids enjoyed it.
-
We felt we were actually heroes back then, right, And
-
the bus conductor was enjoyed it okay, because they were
-
helping the students to talk that heroes that.
-
And every are.
-
The parent who look at us say that these guys
-
are crazy but friends. Sometimes the temptation has always been this.
-
When God asks us to wait in Jerusalem for the
-
promise to come, we say, God, we understand. But at
-
the same time, can we just gone with our journey
-
and it can still bless us along the way. If
-
you are God, therefore you should be able to bless us.
-
But we're gone on our own, separate journey anyway. The
-
temptation has always been this that we try to the
-
word is explain our Christianity away to the way our
-
flesh wants it. We try to explain our Christianity, our
-
beliefs a way to our flesh wants it, rather than
-
what the spirit wants. It's very easy to adept Christianity
-
to our own flesh and tell me as Christian belief
-
rather than our conviction or the lost's conviction upon our heart.
-
It's very simple for it. It's it's so easy for
-
us God. If you are God, right. Therefore, if I
-
walk out from JUU so I don't have to wait here,
-
you can bless me wherever I am.
-
But I would choice make.
-
If we have done that before, we have seen that
-
before God blessed my plans. Bless my plans because in
-
your planning there was God has wasn't involved.
-
In that planning.
-
If God was involved somehow somewhere and you're planning, then
-
can But if God has never been involved in the
-
planning and all suddenly say can you bless I remember
-
one time the early days of church, you know, like
-
like like the prayer between your prayer time and you know,
-
and the leaders were out there was out there. A
-
guy came up. Could you pray for me? I said, yeah, sure,
-
what can I pray for? Could you pray and bless
-
my relationship?
-
Oh? Cool?
-
Great, finally got a good friend. I said, Hey, is
-
she around or oh there, she's not a Christian now
-
believer And I'm like, oh, I say, God, I can
-
pray for you. I can pray for you, but asking
-
I said, did you pray about your relationship with us?
-
And when?
-
Of course you know it's we can adapt christian it
-
to what our flesh wants, I said, did you did
-
you pray about it at least? Did you think the
-
lot about this relationship? Did you give a thought to
-
God in this picture or was it all just you
-
one in your way and asking God to bless it?
-
And therefore, friends, it's a reminder for us, friends, waiting
-
urism sometimes really helps us to put our flesh at
-
this place. Don't go there, don't do this right, wait,
-
go through that process, don't jump ship so quickly, and
-
by the time at the end of the journey you
-
go like, wow, I did not know Lord that you
-
brought me through this journey of life.
-
And time you come out.
-
From the tunnel or from the situation, you go like,
-
now you finally understood why God prepare you in such
-
a manner such a way. Your flash screw me to
-
you forgetting her? Leave this process? You know, why trouble
-
yourself only to come to realization and this place where
-
by by the time you finish the process like wow,
-
I didn't know that God is able to bring you
-
true See, real transformation happens when you go on the
-
journey as well as you wait for the next journey,
-
not constantly on the move all the time. Second thing
-
is this that friends, the Bible reminds us to reminds us,
-
you know, all of us, reminds us really to cultivate
-
a relationship with God. Cultivate your relationship with Lord. So
-
wait in Jerusalem. Friends, you do not wait because just
-
an instruction. You wait because of relationship. Come on, you
-
wait because of relationship. I've seen people before I'm going
-
to study, wait for me, Okay, I'll come back. And
-
some that can get married and something stuff they go over,
-
see their things, they woke out final life partner. But
-
you wait, you wait, you're because of relationship. You wait,
-
right if there is no relationship, friends, you won't wait
-
one friends, think about it for if there is no relationship,
-
you won't wait. If there's no relationship, friends, you won't
-
be complaining that. You know, my friend always sees to
-
study and waited for her.
-
No relationship.
-
I thought she would come back, but she didn't. She's
-
such a cruel person. You because I've seen people complain,
-
friends complain about waiting too long for their food to meaning,
-
say five minutes to Really, I've seen people complain before
-
five minutes. Really want lots to complain. I put your
-
name out on social media and stuff like that. You
-
go like, I've seen people who wait because of relationship
-
with the with the restaurant and no problem. Just say
-
your time and say you're busy training meutes and said, right,
-
it happens on friends. But because there's no relationship, so long, right,
-
complain all the way been before, reunion't need it's one
-
of them, right, those are outside of one friends. You
-
order your order to set me one of friends. So
-
my Singapore and siblings one of them right, and in laws. Right,
-
I'm not in the sister law. But why so long
-
want the food? I say, you just asked them the
-
hatred ten minutes ago.
-
What do you want?
-
You asked the bigger the dishes ten minutes ago. This
-
is not McDonald's, okay, right. They could not go like wow,
-
because we've been we've been the restaurant before. They know,
-
they know we are Christian, they know we are part
-
We are also just leaders, right therefore we are we
-
are kind of We say, are anything?
-
You're very busy right now?
-
We came you wanted to serve the dishes earlier, we
-
weren't ready yet. Because we weren't ready yet, it's our faller.
-
We the people haven't come yet, so you actually can
-
you put on hold that they put on the whole year.
-
You're the only table in the whole restaurant. They will
-
wait for Yuma, so they have this is other big
-
of us. You understand the cuesester how it works? Then
-
my single print siblings, why so long when I hear
-
what a restaurant is on this Manu're not cheap? Okay,
-
all complaints because there is no relationship for us.
-
It was Malaysia.
-
Bit more relaxab It's okay right now, I'm trying to
-
say this is that a lot of times people just
-
wait without a relationship. Come on, Yeah, we heard they
-
shall wait upon the Lord? Shall we rely? They should we?
-
Isn't it true? Friends?
-
The first word that we're focusing on in Isaiah the
-
word strength because there's our desperate need. Yeah, but very
-
seldomly focused on with upon the Lord God. I've been
-
waiting since the day I was born, So you can't
-
I'm exempted from.
-
This part of scripture.
-
I just want my strength right now, right, Give it
-
to me right now, because I've been reading since the
-
day I was born. Right, But the Bible says wait
-
upon the Lord let me therefore, cultivate your relationship with
-
the Lord. They therefore you understand where he gives you strength,
-
it's not what we imagine strength to be. You have
-
to come to a place why you know how to
-
cultivate your relationship with the Lord. So, therefore I'm gonna
-
ask you your quiet time. We talk about revival, right,
-
it comes back to your quiet time. How is our
-
quiet time? Do we read the Bible? Or are wedependent
-
on the Bible? Who give you one scripture a day
-
as a reminder to read the book to weak cultivate
-
a relationship? Do you know more about God? It's very
-
important for us. I understand. If not, you know what
-
will happened. We assume this how God will move. We
-
presume this how we're going. It's just that sometimes you
-
don't spend enough time with our love. Once we just
-
assume and make all the decisions all the way right,
-
only to find out that actually did not. It's not
-
what they wanted. So I had the prillaship take care
-
of my dad. I always got stories about my dad
-
and I have prilliers take care.
-
Of my dad.
-
Right, So I'm the only one left in Malaysia to
-
take care of my dad. When I was young, I
-
knew it is whoever first to leave the country don't
-
have to take care. That was my aim. My aim
-
was to get a college to get my Unity degree Australia.
-
Australia. That's it.
-
Don't come back anymore, right then the last person have
-
the biggest sacrifice.
-
Man, what the do?
-
God caught me. I'm here in Malaysia. So my brother
-
flew off to Singapore, my sister after that. The last
-
person also flew off after that, so I'm left back here.
-
So being around with dad ever since Mom passed away
-
very different. First three years. Cannot those stuff with we
-
cannot right, Mom's clothes cannot touch, shoes, can touch everything? Okay,
-
everything touch only recently, about one month ago, I went
-
and I said that, look, you gotta celebrate this two year.
-
Right.
-
My older brother typica more efficient on let's hire someone
-
a cleaner to come and clean the house. And older
-
people are very resistors to change, very hard, cannot change
-
very hard. Or that my brother, go hire you cleaner?
-
Why are you cleaner? Completic company? Complain again, know no relationship,
-
they spend enough time. I say that it's okay, one
-
all you need to do is to tell the person
-
what to do and the person will do it.
-
You don't have the strength to clean anymore. He doesn't.
-
Again, every time when we don't develop relationship, what happens
-
we just assume that the person needs helped, just hand help.
-
But if you deep, you dig deep a bit further,
-
you have relationship.
-
So I say, they say that, look, I understand your
-
your fears. Number One, you're not used to giving instruction
-
to someone else because in your eyes, you don't see
-
a class you've you always felt like it's very degrading
-
to give someone instructions like that because he grew up
-
in a kampung setting. It was hard times back then,
-
a Robbert Tapper son and stuff like that, so very
-
hard to see someone else. He's always like, I'll just
-
do it my own strength. No relationship. Let's say that
-
it's okay. One, you see how it happens. When you
-
don't wait, you'll develop relationship. You just can come to
-
a place whereby you assume this, how God will move, this,
-
how God will carry out his plans for my life right,
-
because I actually know I woke very differently than what
-
you what you think. I woke very differently than what
-
you think. How you could imagine because you don't spend
-
enough time, and because I'm here f so like I did.
-
I spend about five hours cleaning the house. I say
-
that this five bag of stuff, I've got to take
-
control away. He was so happy telling everybody his second
-
sack and clean the house very good, and went there.
-
You can you just tell everyone else how successful I
-
am something else besides the house. Okay, I know they
-
an extra, you know, merry point. If you're saying to
-
me much earlier, when I was younger, you do very
-
good to myself image. But now I'm fifty something already,
-
no one's around this hearing. No secondly is going to
-
be this all right, the Holy Spirit, I can just
-
end this, end this one more point, Holy Spirit, right
-
John forty Most twenty six. The help of the whole
-
Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name,
-
will teach you all things and bring you to remembers
-
all things I've said, the help of the Holy Spirit.
-
So the Holy Spirit, friends teach, will teach you. The
-
Bible is Holy Spirit will teach you, teach you very
-
potful us to understand to come this hardware. But we
-
want to learn, he's willing to teach about are we
-
willing to learn or are really willing to listen? So
-
don't be confused friends, to what your thoughts is, to
-
what the.
-
Holy Spirit is.
-
Okay, I've seen a lot of Christian everybody's they just
-
anything they want their away something said, God told me so,
-
Holy Spirit told me so. When the Holy spirits and
-
the person SiZ I didn't say a single word. The
-
Holy Spirit told me so, especially if it comes to dating,
-
when your friends, especially it comes to dating, the Holy
-
Spirit told me.
-
So, this is the right individual. Can I use Holy Spirit? Namely? Who?
-
Who are? Who are? Who are we?
-
Right?
-
Your parents are? Who am I? Your God spoke to
-
you so clearly? Or really right?
-
No, not problem and stuff like that.
-
However, when things don't work out well, and things don't
-
work out well, friends don't work out well, the Holy
-
Spirit wasn't in the picture. And I want you to
-
observe this, kid the next time someone tell you the
-
God brought me together. Then after when they argue things, well,
-
you never go to hear God aswers to break up one.
-
They start with the law, but always envy themselves.
-
Then I thought to myself, why God would bring two
-
indued individuals together to go through a life To argue, man,
-
I know the Bible says iron shoppends I, but not
-
this way. I. I don't think God would bring too
-
induies together.
-
How are you.
-
Call so that you can mature in Christ?
-
I don't think so? Does he does this kind of thing?
-
My friends?
-
The Holy Spirit will teach you, bring you to remember
-
all things. That will say, come on, basically, first he
-
teaches you, But.
-
How many of us? We'll say?
-
This? Right?
-
True to us?
-
That whyever we have learned? Not everything we can remember?
-
So the Holy Spirit will remind us what he has
-
taught us. That's why sometimes after we get angry with
-
less Globo direct to someone else, don't you ever get
-
a sense like she should have done that.
-
Don't you ever get the sense that maybe she didn't
-
use that.
-
The choice of word, Maybe he could frame the word
-
a bit better. Holy Spirit is bringing you to remembrance,
-
to reminder the next time when you ever get into
-
that situation, perhaps you could tone down, be a bit
-
more relaxed. Don't be so the Holy.
-
Spirit bring you to remember us. Isn't it amazing? Person?
-
The Holy Spirit right he will guide you to all
-
truth and empower you to glorify the Lord. Guide you
-
to all truth, empower you to glorify the Lord. Finally,
-
it's going to be this power to move forward. I'm
-
going to end be this, Okay, So I say alt
-
on except the one It says that you shall be
-
my witness in Jerusalem, Judeo Samir, and all the ends
-
of the earth.
-
The Holy Spirit.
-
Friends, when empowered individuals to be transformed, you know, the
-
disciples when they met Jesus. I'll being you fisiers of men,
-
from fishers of men, to become my witness, to become
-
martyrd to die for Christ.
-
I'm not worried.
-
I'm not sure of friends, that if Jesus used the
-
word you shall be my witness. Martyr Martes died for
-
me at the very on stage when the Jesus called
-
the disciples whether they are willing to or not. Could
-
you imagine that the day you accept the Christ the preatures,
-
how many we really to die for Christ? To be
-
sent into the ten forty windows to preach Christ to
-
Central Asia? Come forward and say goodbye to all your
-
friends and relative right now We're gonna send you out.
-
I can guarantee you, friends, it will be zero. People responding,
-
it's because you know why our flesh.
-
Really like you know, we like it here. We like
-
it here, we like what we are used to.
-
But Holy Spirit comes and help us to filter some
-
of our priorities and say, hey, while you're holding on
-
right now, it's just temporal. So transform you from my
-
individual that's a bit frightened to be by witness. So
-
transformation happened when the Holy strict falls upon you. He does,
-
he does. I'm just gonna end with this story, your friends.
-
I know it's three five.
-
What do you end? Actually? Treated Okay, I.
-
Just end with this story, right, I have to tell
-
it nicely. I don't wise you think I'm just okay,
-
I'm not very good. My words so came out. Jessica
-
very good with the words and stuff like that. She
-
writes the radio friends, everybody wants you, She writes your resume,
-
everybody wants to hire you. A ready ex kidding so
-
uh so doing commissionings that were there, right, My name
-
was fleash Or one particular position, one particular position position
-
all right, it's called the studio.
-
Right.
-
Some people asking what on earth is that I said,
-
I also don't know, but I unders said that.
-
Right, I know what is?
-
I know what is?
-
All right?
-
The studio and spassa John from Singapore couldn't stop laughing.
-
He just couldn't stop laughing. I told him what the
-
studio is all about? His he laughed for this three
-
good meaning it's really good laughter. No, it's not the
-
laughter that's that's putting you down.
-
Just really good laughter.
-
Say oh, the for a person who do not know
-
music in terns of the studio, I say, well, I said, God,
-
massive is raceler.
-
I said that.
-
There After that he said that, oh, what do you
-
do actually for that purpose? Uh? So we know of
-
a common friend, common friend right in another state, common friend.
-
I said, well, it's like.
-
This person a right who manages, produces music and stuff
-
like that. He just he he just couldn't stop laughing. Oh,
-
you don't understand a single note. I say, I know,
-
I don't know music. I don't know everything. But I
-
guess this fall upon my lap. It's not that I
-
wanted to know that. Pass the please give me this, okay,
-
and therefore my life missions for fuel. I was put
-
in the position, put in the place I only smile
-
only because I told you John is John. Look, I
-
guess God massive plan right number one, masterful plan, So
-
I saws are given some things that we should never
-
ask for. So therefore got masterful plan. Number two is
-
going to be this my own strang because if with
-
my own strength, friends, it will be nothing ever get produced,
-
our friends nothing to get ever get produced.
-
And stuff like that.
-
I say, I only have one, just one aim. The
-
scripture I got was every tongue, every tribe shall proclaim
-
every just the word, every tongue and every tribe. I
-
just had this imagination, this really imagination. I say, we
-
are such a diverse groul malicious. It is, I think,
-
one of the only very few diverse country in the world,
-
very few, so many dialects here existing. I say that
-
we are not the word is this that that's a church.
-
We are not maximizing it, we are not leveraging on it.
-
I say, English is not the only spoken language in
-
our church. Right, I say, therefore, I say, by God,
-
give us something like this. I say, I have you
-
taken it into my imagination and stretch it as far
-
as I can, so I always have a desire, really
-
like I'm not so much into an English album, right,
-
because I think that people championing it, I say I
-
would love to. I will love to. I say, produce
-
one song on hockeyn one song Hockey because I think
-
there's a space for that. There is a space for that,
-
because I say that.
-
There are people.
-
I know, my wife something at a phone call, al there,
-
did you know any hockey peryers of worship?
-
My grandma is dying.
-
She needs to hear the gospel, and she was and
-
my wife does have a least in her handful that
-
she followers through that you listen to this song, listen
-
to the song and stuff that.
-
Do you have a song in hakka? Right?
-
I know haka it's very written, right, and the stuff
-
that how can more spoken?
-
Right?
-
Hakkas were small minority, right and more it's more for
-
scolding rather for praise and worship.
-
Right, But anyway, price worship hakka. I say that, I.
-
Went like, if GPCC church in Indonesia there to branch
-
out to produce a singer in in Japanese, what's stopping us?
-
I say that, yeah, we may not be as talented
-
as them, but at least we want to embark on.
-
The journey to try out.
-
So the Holy spirit, friends, and the Holy speak comes
-
right upon my heart really like a desire to see right,
-
so as I talk.
-
So we were away at the Global Past's retreat. I
-
talked to and guys from UK.
-
They say, Elder will let you know we we have
-
written eleven songs already eleven songs written, really, but so
-
we are trying to figure out how to produce it.
-
I say, great, have you heard about the studio? Right
-
that I spoke the ex Botswana, Right Sydney is in
-
charge of the album. Say old, we have raised up
-
one thousand US dollars. I said, what do you do
-
with that? We booked studio time. I went like, how
-
is he working for you? We went to the studio
-
of and the studio manager just told.
-
That you guys got to work on your workers.
-
So we spend the first eight hours working on our workers.
-
I say, hey, can we help you or not? We
-
have people here in Malaysia who's very good in this.
-
Let me hook you up with someone. Right, we have
-
Andrew Or ten in cheg Mih is very good. Right,
-
So Pastor say that why don't you help us help
-
me to put a global album together? Because extra as
-
a movement, Malaysia is not the only one that writes
-
songs globally. We have people around so, as I close friends,
-
the Holy Street comes upon you, not just for us
-
to say, look we've got guns, yeah, fantastic, right, but
-
the strength given to you to be a blessing to
-
the ends of the world. So therefore for us, I
-
truly believe, as I close friends, that why it fall
-
upon my lives, because it just tells me this, Can
-
you just help me to see this come to pass?
-
God has always had a unique calling upon ex church.
-
Music is one of them.
-
We have been very.
-
Strong musically, and yes, some things we are we can
-
get better, It's true, but we have never allowed budget
-
to stop us, to limit our imagination. Never do you
-
know that we have really good lyricists in our church.
-
If you remove we composed our music, all right, I'm
-
just gonna say this, save mistold me and you put
-
it through AI to come out with a song, and
-
you put it out there for other people to hear.
-
Someone that will ask you that where and who have
-
written this song? I'm more interested in the story at
-
the end of the day.
-
The story.
-
We have very good scriptwriters in our church.
-
Very good.
-
I always ask myself this as like close friends, why
-
can't we produce a good script? Why can't we produce
-
a good script?
-
Then?
-
Why will touch people's heart?
-
People watch a movie? Friends?
-
So recently, I just watch a movie, said, heard of
-
a movie sancha woman choir, right, a Taiwanese movie.
-
That that really?
-
That that that really? But I just saw the this
-
people's feedback on the show.
-
It's a very interesting show.
-
My wife just cried, like she used about forty shue paper,
-
so so she look at you cry?
-
Not I looked that.
-
I told my wife like my Mom's wakes away, so
-
I didn't cry. Do you actually cry for a movie? Anyway?
-
This's this episody, right, I'm right.
-
Very differently, I cried my own other other times I
-
just told this, I said, it's very interesting that how
-
how people can relate to story and just say that
-
this movie give me encouragement to press on. Because I
-
was raised up in abuse family. My mom went to prison,
-
I went to prison. I hated my mom. But when
-
I saw the movie, I understand why my mom had
-
to make those choices. And I thought to myself that
-
as a church, as a church. If we see we
-
have gotten on our side and the Holy street on
-
our side. We we should be the one carrying, one
-
of the people who carry the torch in this world
-
that's so broken and so hurt. So therefore, for it
-
is the power to move forward. The Holy Spirit come
-
upon our life. It's not just for us to have
-
a good time in church alone or Christian concert or
-
stadium event alone. Friends, is to be the light out there, really,
-
to be a light out, to be a source of encouragement,
-
a strength to someone who really needs it.
-
That's what revival it's all about. Friends.
-
Revival is not for us to yeay goose bums, yeay
-
holy spirits. Here we enjoy the praise of worship another lever.
-
But revival happens for friends. Where we go out there, where
-
people see us, they see the Lord, a message of
-
hope and encouragement. As I close, I want to encourage you.
-
Do not just limit yourself with the four walls. Friends,
-
It's beyond the upper room. It really is beyond the
-
upper room.
-
Cultivate your relationship with the law.
-
Because to make assumption this how God will move friends,
-
Because you never ask the thing that you wanted It's
-
not necessarily a thing that God prepared for you, prepare
-
for you, But somethings you've never talked. Four upon your lap,
-
go like, why what is this the studio? What on
-
earth is this? There must be a reason, There must
-
be a purpose.
