  1. You're listening to a message to go from ast church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your tea.

  3. Title prayer in good times and in bad times? Hey, guys,

  4. do we only pray to the Lord when things are

  5. going bad? Normally? That's a very honest answer, which is true.

  6. You know. It is only when things really are going

  7. bad that we come to the Lord and ask why

  8. is that? Why is it that we do not go

  9. to the Lord in time in good times? If God

  10. is only a resource, then probably we'll only go to

  11. him when we don't have lah. But if God is

  12. a savior, if he is our friend, if he is

  13. a confidant, if he is everything to us, we will

  14. also go to him in good times. Why you only

  15. go to your friend in bad times? No? Isn't it

  16. in good times? You? Hey? You know what happened to

  17. me or not? What is friend testing him? Right or not?

  18. How many of you go to your friends and share

  19. good restaurant you've been to? Do do you keep it

  20. to yourselves? No? But you see, if you are like

  21. most of us who pray to God only in bad times,

  22. we will only tell the friends about the lousy restaurant

  23. you went to. We will never tell them about a

  24. good restaurant, Craig, We'll keep that to ourselves. Is that

  25. the way God has meant prayer to be. No, And

  26. over the years that I've learned, prayer is much more

  27. than just getting down on my knees. It's much more

  28. than just believing God for things. But pray is really

  29. about acknowledging the existence of God. That he's there every

  30. day of your life. You know, he becomes real to

  31. you even though you don't see him. And that's a

  32. good place to be because that means that you at

  33. any time can have a conversation with the Lord that's

  34. going to help lead and guide you. But you see,

  35. if we only get to God when things are going bad,

  36. and that's the only time we go to the Lord,

  37. what if we don't get an answer. Wow, there's a

  38. time we don't get an answer. Well, let's go into that. Okay.

  39. So I believe God has answered my prayers so very

  40. long ago. I believe that. Do I believe that's the

  41. end of it? Is it sufficient that God answered my

  42. prayers in the past. Guys, you always hear a lot

  43. of testimonies they share with you. But things that God

  44. has done for me in the past, and then some

  45. of you may be But what about the present. Well,

  46. I praise the Lord that I've been able to share

  47. with you things that God does for me in the present,

  48. and I will share a couple of them again today,

  49. all right. So the Lord is there for you in

  50. the past. He is strengthening your views about Him so

  51. that He will always be there in your eyes in

  52. the present. You see, if you don't have a past

  53. with the Lord, how can you have a present with him?

  54. So never ever look down on your past with God.

  55. Never look down in your past with God. It helps

  56. you develop an understanding in the strength about Him and

  57. you in the present. Why not you build relationships your

  58. parents in the past? Door near? Because if you build

  59. your relationship in the past, only in and when you're

  60. in the present, you can't bothered about them. Is that

  61. the way it is? No, In fact, some of us

  62. can't be bothered with a present with the parents in

  63. the present because of how we have a relationship with

  64. them in the past. That's the other flip side. But

  65. does it remain that way in the Lord. It's not

  66. supposed to. So this is not my message, but I'll

  67. just tell this to you. If you have a bad

  68. relationship with your parents now, and this I believe is prophetic,

  69. get your act together and build a relationship with them.

  70. Get your act together, forgive them and move on. Get

  71. your act together and be good to them, because your

  72. life depends upon how you deal with your parents. And

  73. is prophetic. Okay, So I don't know who that is for,

  74. but I praise the Lord. You will find some answers

  75. in that. So why not, now, that's the question? Why not? Now? See?

  76. The thing is the key takeaways of how God has

  77. helped us in the past. These are a few things

  78. that we have to remember. Are we thankful and are

  79. we appreciative? You know, if we are not thankful to

  80. God for the things He's done with us in the past,

  81. we will not be able to build a relationship with

  82. him in the present. Why does scripture always say remember

  83. remember what? Remember things in the How can you remember

  84. things in the present. They haven't happened yet. You can

  85. only remember things from the past because it's gone. And

  86. scripture says, read remember now, remember what most of us

  87. remember when somebody hurt us? Is that what we're supposed

  88. to remember? How many of you think that's why we're

  89. supposed to remember praise the Lord. No hands up. That's

  90. not what scripture is telling us to remember. It is

  91. telling us to remember God. Remember what he's done for us,

  92. Remember how he's helped us. Remember God has been real

  93. in our life. How many of us have had experiences

  94. where God came through in our past? We do. I

  95. remember that at the age of ten, there was something

  96. happening in the house, something that was quite serious. And

  97. in my mind, my tenure old mind, and I had

  98. not known the Lord yet. I prayed and I just said, God,

  99. send this person to the house and the problem will

  100. be solved. I was ten years old or eleven years old,

  101. six or seven years before I knew the Lord personally,

  102. and that's what I said. I said, God, my God, Please.

  103. I didn't know too much about in Jesus name. I

  104. didn't know about the structure of how press should be.

  105. But I just knew that I needed to pray to God.

  106. And the moment I finished that prayer, there was a

  107. honk on the horn and we looked out. My house

  108. had a driveway, okay, and there he was at the gate,

  109. this very person that I had asked God to send.

  110. So he came to the house, and you were happy

  111. to see him. A Scotsman. By the way, he's a Scotsman.

  112. When he talked, can't bell I understand what he's saying,

  113. but and this was this is and he said this,

  114. He said, I had no idea why I'm here. I

  115. was on my way home, and all of a sudden

  116. I had this very deep urge to come here, and

  117. he was. Then the problem was solved. That spoke to

  118. me about a God. Then, so when I got into

  119. a personal relationship with the Lord, Wow, how powerful it

  120. was to know that God has been in my corner

  121. since the very beginning. Be thankful. Second thing is what

  122. have we learned? You see, when God does something for

  123. us in the past, is it just for the sake

  124. of that thing happening? Or is there a lesson to

  125. be learned? And this is a very important point when

  126. you come to the part later I'll be talking about asking,

  127. so what have we learned? Every single situation that happens

  128. in our life, every answer that the Lord has given,

  129. every prayer that he's responded to, is something for us

  130. to learn. If we learn how to use it, we

  131. can see it happen again and again. And again, what

  132. is the proof of this? Well, you know how many

  133. of us when we buy a I would like to

  134. say video player, but I don't think this exists anymore.

  135. All right, uh, tv box? Hey, let's go with a

  136. TV box. If you learn the procedure, and if you

  137. learn from a manual how to operate it, how wonderful

  138. it is you will be able to do all kinds

  139. of things with Kragna. How many of us just use

  140. Excel plus minus, subtraction and division. Later on we learn

  141. amphersend some brackets if look up, you know some of

  142. these other things? All right, control C, control F. See

  143. when we learn the shortcuts and we get more proficient,

  144. doesn't the program become more responsive to us? Man? When

  145. I first learned this, I learned macros. You know, there

  146. was some time ago. I don't need it now because

  147. those days you didn't have multiple worksheets. Now you've got

  148. multiple worksheets. You don't need macro really la huh. But

  149. those days, no worksheet, one worksheet, one open. I actually

  150. learned macros, and I tell you I had a lot

  151. of fun with it. With the macro, I could use

  152. the macros to draw up tables all with the push

  153. of a button. So I don't need to go copying

  154. piacee create a table. I just create one macro, pup

  155. the whole book. She's done, you see. So it's about

  156. what have we learned? Are we unfaithful or weak in

  157. trusting in his providence? Ah? The past will teach us

  158. about our weaknesses, our feelings, the problems we have with

  159. trusting the Lord. And this is again very important. How

  160. many of you know that if you know the weakness

  161. of your car, you won't purposely, you know, use that weakness.

  162. How should I mean? Okay, if your car, if you

  163. know your car tire is bald, will you go drifting

  164. or not? You will drift off the cliff. That will

  165. be the end of your story. But how many of

  166. you know your tires are really good? And only then

  167. maybe you may give it a little bit more juice

  168. because you have learned about what failure can happen right

  169. in life? Failure is one of the best lessons you know.

  170. If everything good happens to you, one failure will destroy you.

  171. Do you know that? Which is why I never tell

  172. my children how clever you are? Why are you so clever? Ever?

  173. If they go through life hearing how clever they are. Certainly,

  174. when they go to university and they fail one paper,

  175. you know what will be the response, I'm not clever.

  176. I can't do this and that's it. They finished one failure,

  177. So how did I validate my kids? Wow, you've done

  178. so well. You put in the effort and you see

  179. the result. It's so good. I love the effort you

  180. put into it because it has produced a good result.

  181. And all through the years, what are they hearing? You

  182. put in the effort, you get the result. So now

  183. they go to university and they flunk their first paper.

  184. You know what is their thought. I didn't work hard enough,

  185. I didn't put in enough effort. I will succeed. I

  186. just got to give it its due. So are we

  187. unfaithful or weak in trusting the Lord in his providence?

  188. So so what can we do to let go of fear?

  189. Another thing that prevents us is fear. And you know,

  190. one of the greatest, I would say greatest, one of

  191. the worst things is that we fear the Lord will

  192. not answer. You know, some of us don't pray because

  193. we fear the Lord will not answer. That is like

  194. sitting in a car fearing it will not take us

  195. to the next destination. And because of that fear not

  196. putting the key inside and turning it on, have fear

  197. the car will not go, so I don't even try.

  198. You see, these are the things. They are real things.

  199. They are issues that either push us or stop us.

  200. So do we think that our problems if he's forgot okay,

  201. I think there's a grammatical error. There is not if

  202. it's easy bad English. Do we think that our problems

  203. is for God? Or problems are for God to fail us?

  204. You know, we always believe that God is this nasty

  205. old man who's trying to fail us. I don't even

  206. had teachers like that in school, who always seem like

  207. they want to fail you, that in their minded they

  208. fail you. Later on you will pass. These are guys

  209. who did not understand how mentality works. You keep telling

  210. somebody you'll be a failure all your life, you know

  211. what will happen. They will end up being a failure

  212. all there. Why, guys, God is not like that. If

  213. you study scripture, God has never tested us to fail us.

  214. He has always tested us to prove us. That's a

  215. big difference. You go to the gym, you want to

  216. prove to yourself that you can lift twenty kg's. So

  217. what do you do You lived twenty cage's. If you're

  218. not going to prove to yourself that you can do it,

  219. you will always, for the rest of your life lived

  220. fifteen CAGs. Will you get the desired results? No, because

  221. you didn't prove to yourself you can do it. See,

  222. God's in the business of proving to you that his

  223. belief in you will produce great results. You believe God

  224. believes in you, You better believe it because he said,

  225. go into the world and preach the gospel, making disciples.

  226. Did he give that job to angels? I mean, if

  227. one angel appears now, suddenly comes here, He's like about

  228. seven feet tall, he's got wings. Let's stretch out. Some

  229. angels got four wings, some even got six. Don't ask

  230. me where I'm getting this from, but you know you

  231. gotta study. Right now, he appears to seven feet tall,

  232. two wings, white, long blonde hair, handsome, not a blemish

  233. on him. And he comes and he tells you the

  234. Lord will answer your prayer. You believe him or not?

  235. Of course you will, you know, but you will also

  236. There are also some who will not believe you know

  237. it's in scripture. When he appeared before John the Baptist Father,

  238. and he said, you're gonna have a son. Ha ha,

  239. How can this be? You will not open your mouth

  240. until the son is born? Why because you did not

  241. believe me I'm a messenger of God. But then he

  242. appears to marry. The Lord is favoring you. You're gonna

  243. bear a son. His name shall be Jesus. But I'm

  244. I'm not married, said, don't worry about that. God will

  245. take care of it. Be to me as you have said.

  246. And in faith? What did she said? My soul does

  247. magnified the name of the Lord. Ah. Do you see

  248. the difference? Guys, Your God believed that you had this

  249. capacity to go into the world and preach the gospel,

  250. to save people, to see people come to the Lord.

  251. He didn't give that job too, Angel, He gave it

  252. to us. So do you think God believes in you?

  253. If there's no scripture that speaks clearly of that. This

  254. should help you understand. Hey, who was he talking to?

  255. You know, he was talking to his one hundred and

  256. twenty believers, who were what cowards, who had run away,

  257. who had rejected him, who had denied him who did

  258. not believe in him. Those are the ones he spoke to.

  259. You know, you read scripture. This is the one he

  260. told us to them. You know, the faith of the

  261. Lord in us is stronger than our own faith in ourselves.

  262. You better believe it, because the power the Holy Spirit

  263. will come upon you and make you something great in

  264. the name of Jesus. So you say I cannot do it,

  265. It's all right, you can't. But with the power of

  266. the Holy Spirit working through you can do all things

  267. through Christ who strengthens you. Which is why I don't

  268. mind sharing Jesus with unbelievers. You know why, at the

  269. age of sixty five, I don't care anymore what they

  270. think of me. I don't care anymore they think I'm crazy.

  271. I don't care anymore they say no because they're not

  272. saying no to me. I didn't die for their sins.

  273. If they reject Jesus, who are saying no to You

  274. were talking about good restaurants, right, You tell your friend

  275. you've got a good restaurant, come in me, and the

  276. guy says no, I don't ago. You get offended. A

  277. you don't care. You already know the restaurant is good.

  278. He doesn't want to take you up on it. That's

  279. his business right along. You will still go to that

  280. restaurant because the restaurant is serving goodoo. So when you

  281. are talking about Jesus, Jesus is good food for the soul.

  282. Someone don't accept it as their business. You are enjoying

  283. it already. See the devil caught us thinking that we

  284. need to fall apart when somebody rejects us. No need love,

  285. There is no need to fall apart. Okay, So what

  286. has this got to do with prayer? This is just

  287. the foundation and scripture in Matthew seven seven says ask

  288. and it shall be given to you. Seek and you

  289. will find. Knock and it will be open to you.

  290. And Matthew seven eight, it's just for everyone who asks,

  291. what happens receives, and he who knocks, he who seeks, fines,

  292. and to him who knocks it will be open. Okay,

  293. what man among you, if his son asks for bread,

  294. will give him a stone. Verse ten, All we ask

  295. for a fish will give him a serpent. This is

  296. the wonderful part. Seven eleven. If you, then, being evil,

  297. know how to give good gifts to your children, how

  298. much more will your father, who is in heaven, give

  299. good things to those who ask him. Okay, I didn't

  300. do this in Jesus voice. No impact. If I just

  301. see it like that, there's no impact. See, I always

  302. imagine when I read scripture, how would my Jesus be

  303. Ask and it will be given to you? Seek and

  304. you will find. Knock and it will be open to you.

  305. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds,

  306. And to him who knocks it will be opened. Or

  307. what man is there among you, who, if his son

  308. asks for bread, will give him a stone, Or he

  309. asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?

  310. But if you, then, being evil, know how to give

  311. good gifts to your how much more will your father,

  312. where is in heaven, give good things to those who

  313. ask him? What difference or not? That's how the word

  314. of Lord speaks to me. That's how it becomes alive

  315. to me. Because I don't believe in a weak Jesus.

  316. I believe that when Jesus speaks, strength comes in to me.

  317. So Scripture says, now, ask ask you know this world? Ask?

  318. Is it means ask? It also means to beg to

  319. call for crave, desire require. My mom always just she

  320. tells me. You know, every time I see her, she says,

  321. you know, I talk to the Lord and I say,

  322. here comes the beggar, Here comes the beggar. Eh. You know,

  323. I used to go into I used to tell her, Mom,

  324. can you stop saying that you are a child of

  325. the Lord. You're a child of God. You don't have

  326. to beg from the Lord because he is your father.

  327. And then I read the scripture and then I understood it.

  328. And then now I never stopped my mom from saying

  329. here comes the beggar, because the Lord hears her. And

  330. of course when she tells me that here comes the

  331. bigger she'll smile. So it' said. You know, it's a

  332. thing that she has going with the Lord. That's fine. Hey, guys,

  333. if you got to big from someone, not big from

  334. the God. Don't beg from your friends, don't beg from

  335. your boss. If you have to beg, beg from God.

  336. Ask ask. You know, this morning, as I was praying

  337. for you on my walk, the Lord help me understand this.

  338. See the word in James chapter four, verse three. It

  339. says that some of us ask, but we don't receive

  340. because we asked to spend it on our own desires,

  341. right or not. Inherently, this Lord is actually teaching me

  342. about this word ask. Okay, so I can help you.

  343. And you notice that that in James, asking and not

  344. getting is in relation to spending a lot of times

  345. when we ask, we ask for money, right, we ask

  346. for money, and the Bible says to spend it on

  347. our own hedonistic desires, our own selfish desires. Hey, God

  348. is not against you asking for money, all right. And

  349. you know that asking is a process of learning. And

  350. this is what the Lord told me this morning. It's

  351. okay if you don't get. You know, it's okay when

  352. you ask and you don't get, you know why. It's

  353. the process of you learning how and what to ask for.

  354. I'll give you an example my children as they're growing up. Daddy,

  355. I want a horse. I want a cat, Diddy, I

  356. want a dog. I never said no to my children.

  357. I always gave them this answer. I said, yes, I

  358. will get you a horse. Yes I will buy you

  359. a dog. Yes I will get you a cat. What

  360. you got to do first is you've got to grow up,

  361. get married, have your own house, and then I'll buy

  362. these things for you. See. I never said no. I

  363. didn't even say wait, I said yes. You know, I

  364. actually went and looked for a horse for them. There

  365. was an ad in the papers selling a horse. I

  366. actually went to look, you know, I went, I went

  367. to look. And then when I had to look at

  368. the horse because my brother in law had a big place,

  369. so he said, yeah, go ahead, hit the horse here

  370. for them, since they spend their time after school in

  371. my brother in law's house. Then he said go and

  372. have look. So I went to look at the horse. Unfortunately,

  373. this horse looked like it was about to to go

  374. knock me cannot move. Said no, this is not the horse.

  375. But that was the only horse that came up for

  376. saying okay. But the thing is I actually went to look.

  377. But they grew older, they got married, they got their

  378. own house. Do you know one of them has got

  379. three dogs. One of them has a dog and a cat. Well,

  380. you know what's the wonderful thing. They got what they wanted.

  381. But I didn't have to pay for it. So isn't

  382. God good? See, when you ask from the Lord, sometimes

  383. you get. You know, when you were young, you asked

  384. your dad for a car, Dad, I want a car

  385. and I grow up. When you grow up the door,

  386. your father gives you a car, right, so you ask rightly?

  387. You got all right? But let's just say your father

  388. is a bus driver and you tell your dad I

  389. want the latest Mercedes bended sports car. Will you get

  390. it or not? Will your father give it to you

  391. or not? No? Then, over time you actually learn what

  392. you can ask for and what not to ask for.

  393. Am I right? Even in your places of work, you

  394. will learn what you can ask for and what you

  395. cannot ask for. So Scripture is actually telling us that

  396. when we ask for the Lord and sometimes we don't

  397. get it's just learning process, our process of learning what

  398. we can ask o God for and what we cannot

  399. or sometimes asking the Lord and learning we have to

  400. wait for it, asking from the Lord and say no,

  401. this is not for you. So asking is a process

  402. of us learning. Don't ever be afraid to ask from

  403. the Lord, you see, because even if God says no,

  404. you have learned a valuable lesson. So now I ask

  405. the Lord for a lot of things, and I tell

  406. you sometimes I get it. I don't know if I

  407. shared this testimony with you, but I probably did. I

  408. will just remind you that One of my most recent

  409. asking from the Lord resulted in me receiving something that's

  410. worth six figures without me having to pay anything because

  411. I asked correctly. Then the next thing is seek. Scripture

  412. is sick and you will find. Seek and you will find.

  413. To seek means to be about looking for something, desiring, endeavoring,

  414. inquiring for seek, You inquire, you require, you look for something.

  415. Scripture is talking now about ask. Don't be afraid to ask.

  416. The next thing you know is seek look for things. Guys,

  417. how many of you are seeking a life's partner. Don't

  418. put up your hands. You're but the Bible says, seek

  419. and you will find wow life partner. You seek, you'll find.

  420. Seek is also about asking the Lord for wisdom. You're

  421. seeking an answer. This week has been a strange week

  422. for me. My mom, who is now eighty nine years old,

  423. is suffering from a severe cognitive decline. Severe In fact,

  424. I would consider her to be ten percent of her

  425. normal self. So sometime last week when I met up

  426. with her, she thought I was her brother. Not that

  427. I look like a brother, but she thought I was

  428. a brother who had just recently passed away. She's now

  429. the last of her generation. My mother is the last

  430. of her generation, the absolute last out of eighteen siblings.

  431. She's the last one. She's eighty nine. And so did

  432. I correct it?

  433. No?

  434. I did not, Hi, Jerry, Yes, it's okay. Whatever makes

  435. a happy ler, you know. But I was a little

  436. bit sad that my own mother couldn't recognize me. So

  437. what did I do? I asked the Lord, Lord, you

  438. know this saddens me. I knew something about it. Several

  439. hours later, my brother writes and said, I went to

  440. visit mom and dad, and you know what Mom said,

  441. I said, Terence came to visit us just now. And

  442. then I was thinking, oh God, praise the Lord. That's

  443. so good. I feel so good about that. Seek Then

  444. day before yesterday, that's Friday, right there, Friday here, Friday Friday,

  445. my mother was taken into the hospital to do some

  446. tests because my mother had not eaten for a week.

  447. All right, is not eaten for a week. So my

  448. brother took her in and then I went there and

  449. took over at five o'clock. I was there in the

  450. hospital from five in the evening to four the next

  451. morning while my mother went through the tests and did whatever.

  452. You know, So it was really By the time I

  453. got home and got to sleep was about five five

  454. am on Saturday morning. I was so exhausted, I was

  455. so mentally drained. But what I wanted to tell you

  456. a seeker, I was in emergency, and my word, how

  457. many people come in for accidents. You will have no idea.

  458. It's like every half an hour somebody has been wheeling.

  459. Almost all of this is accidents on motorbikes. And one

  460. look at the estate you will realize something. They never

  461. wore gloves, they didn't wear a jacket, they didn't wear shoes,

  462. and they wore an incomplete helmet. So I was thinking myself,

  463. thinking of getting a bike again. So the Lord is

  464. actually showing you all these things. Then he's telling me, okay,

  465. you know, if you're covered up and wearing all the

  466. right things, you'll be okay. Anyway, as the story goes,

  467. there was two Malay guys, I think they were maybe

  468. in their twenties. So they were sitting right by my side,

  469. and they came in so you could see, you know,

  470. blood little knuckles and their hands and the chin and

  471. the face and all that. You know, they were there

  472. and they are actually from Puchong. But this hospital was Clanging,

  473. so where they met the accident, the ambulance took them

  474. to Clang emergency. So there they were sitting there. This

  475. was about seven thirty seven forty in the evening. So

  476. while they were being attended to, he asked the nurse,

  477. can we get some food? You know, because we haven't

  478. broken fast, we can get some food. And then the

  479. nurse said, I think you can get but after you

  480. have to wait until the doctors see you. Okay. The

  481. moment I heard that, ask the Lord lord. Then he said,

  482. and I heard the Lord say, go and buy them food.

  483. I do not tell you this for you to think

  484. I'm somebody great. No, I don't tell you this to

  485. tell I'm something. You know, I'm very special what I do.

  486. And the reason I tell you this is to tell

  487. you that you can also have all these things happening

  488. in your life. Because God is no respector of men,

  489. meaning that he doesn't draw a distinction between me and you.

  490. If it happens for me, it happens for you. Okay,

  491. let's get that clear. And in scripture, when I refer

  492. to you, I also mean me, so politically I'm correct. Now,

  493. don't get offended. So the Lord said, buy them food.

  494. So my caregiver was outside because I was in the

  495. room with my mom. So I told the caregiver, here's money.

  496. Please go and get this and this and this for them.

  497. You know, when I gave it to them, they were

  498. so grateful. It was so grateful. You mean to say

  499. God would care for them. Hey, God is so compassionate.

  500. He loves them as much as he loves me. The

  501. love is the same. For God so loved the world

  502. that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever so

  503. happens that I'm one of the whosoever, all right. But

  504. God's compassion is for everyone. And God could think of

  505. these two young guys who had fasted and hadn't eaten,

  506. and they were so grateful, and thank God I gave

  507. them the food because you know what time finally after

  508. their initial test was over so they could eat, was

  509. about ten to eleven. They left at two am, after

  510. all their tests were completed two three am. I left

  511. a little bit later than that. God is full of compassion.

  512. He's telling you that you can be that someone to somebody. See,

  513. I thought the Lord answer, I said, Lord, what do

  514. you think? He said, go feed them. I heard it

  515. feed them. Seeking is like that. You may not have

  516. a clear direction, but you seek and you ask the Lord.

  517. He will help you. Sometimes when you ask the Lord,

  518. he will make you the answer. And God makes you

  519. the answer. Isn't it wonderful where God can make you

  520. the answer? Seek? And then it says, a knock as

  521. in a door knock, is the Lord asking you to

  522. climb mountain a Balu. By the way, Atkinson Tawai researched,

  523. it was put up in honor of the first District

  524. officer of Jesselton. His name is George Francis Atkinson, whose

  525. father happened to have been a pastor. He sent me

  526. the picture. I better research and find out what's happening.

  527. What's all about? Now? You know? So? Anyway, God doesn't

  528. say before you can answer, Before I send you the answer,

  529. I want you to climb Mount Kinabalu ten times in

  530. a row without a break. Go up, come down, go up,

  531. and on the tenth time you will get your answer.

  532. Does God do that? You know what he's telling you

  533. to do. He's just telling you to knock on his door.

  534. Knock on his door. Did he tell you bang on

  535. the door? Did he tell you smash down the door?

  536. Did he tell you rammed door? What did he say? Knock?

  537. We are the ones who complicate things. But actually when

  538. you when you, when you learn about prayer, it's very simple, okay,

  539. and it means always daily whosoever you know the Lord

  540. is is telling you that whoever asks, he's gonna he's

  541. gonna get it. You know, whoever asks is going to

  542. get it, you know, and the Bible says he will do,

  543. he will come through, You'll obtain it, you will get it.

  544. That's what that scripture seven, uh, all the way to

  545. the end. Actually, men will ask and you will receive.

  546. Knock seeking you will find, knock and it will be open.

  547. It means that that this is going to happen when

  548. you do it. Now, this whole message, this whole message

  549. is actually a counsel that I gave to a friend

  550. in trouble. All right, this friend in Singapore, she was

  551. in trouble and she wrote this, she said. And that's

  552. where it has been shaky. As I've been questioning why

  553. a powerful, ever living God can simply confirm his existence,

  554. his love and care, etc. By clearing all doubt. Why

  555. does God still give free will and take on all

  556. after taking on all the sins of men, knowing we

  557. are sinners and will continue to sin because of evil

  558. and bad choices. This is my friend writing to me.

  559. I understand now what she is going through because her

  560. mother is ninety four years old and she is the

  561. sole caregiver of her mother. And it seemed as if

  562. she was going crazy. So now she was in a

  563. moment of despair, and she wrote to me, remember my

  564. gang of four. I keep talking about my friends, my

  565. Singapore friends, my gang of four. She's one of them,

  566. but this one, and they are all believers. But she

  567. didn't write this on them on the group chat. She

  568. wrote this privately to me, so I was counseling her.

  569. I said, God has never confirmed his existence by clearing dout.

  570. God is never It doesn't work, you know. Forty years,

  571. for forty years in the desert, God confirmed his existence

  572. over and over again to the children as fire by night,

  573. cloud by day, miracles, water from the rock, birds from

  574. the air, manner on the ground. Forty years, God was

  575. confirming his existence and clearing doubt. But you know what,

  576. it didn't work. It didn't work. This is because of

  577. the hard hearts we must never keep a hard heart,

  578. for if there's anything that will prevent miracles from taking

  579. place in our life, this is the one that stops

  580. it cold a hard heart. I said, you know that

  581. God gave free will to men at creation and not

  582. after taking the sins of men. God gave free will

  583. to men at creation. He did not give it after

  584. taking the sins of men. Because God doesn't cheat. How

  585. many of us spend two three am men in Starbucks

  586. and go to school for our exam the next day

  587. and say God help me, and you expect to pass.

  588. God is not your cheat. You study and then you

  589. say God help me. You'll you'll pass with flying colors

  590. because you've done your part. God will help you. Understand now,

  591. He doesn't take these Otherwise He could have at the

  592. moment Adam and he fell, throw Satan into hell and

  593. cause Jesus immediately to appear die for Adam sin, and

  594. that would have been the end of it. Right. Didn't

  595. God cheats like that? No, there was a process to go.

  596. He allowed men to progress on with his choices. You

  597. and I have got to learn that our choices will

  598. progress us, either well or not so well. While working

  599. and waiting for the right opportunity to have Jesus born.

  600. See God's about perfection. We may not understand it, but

  601. that doesn't mean God will change his own values. Do

  602. you understand now? In terms of internal God, the time

  603. he took until Jesus appeared was about a week. Actually

  604. God acted if you talk God timer, God acted within

  605. a week. But for us here was a few thousand years.

  606. You have to understand. So what God gives, he does

  607. not take away in shortcuts. Man has made a decision.

  608. Now he'll have to work it out. So I'm explaining

  609. to my friend. God will not take the easy way

  610. out and have you and I handle our problems by

  611. him doing it on our behalf or just removing it now.

  612. He expects us to grow and be able to handle.

  613. He expects us to mature, so he knows we will

  614. yet sin and make bad choices. But what is what

  615. is good is that we that he remember saying that

  616. he has faith in us. God has faith in you

  617. and I that we will find the right way back.

  618. He trust us to change over time. Yeah, you're not

  619. expected to be perfect, but tell but as you grow older,

  620. you expected to know more and behave more rightly. So

  621. he expects by time. You know, we will make the

  622. right choices under one day we will look at the

  623. litany of good choices that we have made in our lives.

  624. That will happen. It will happen. One day you look back, say, hey,

  625. I've been making right choices. Why you and I we

  626. have learned, we have progressed. We know. You know you

  627. want to ask your boss for something. Do you pick

  628. a time and he's a bad mood. No, Over time

  629. you'll be able to study your boss's faith. Today's the

  630. day we better ask, and you ask, Lord, give me

  631. a boss, give me a rasiat, sure how much you want.

  632. It's about the right time. We will see the good

  633. choices that we made. He didn't make us whims. You know,

  634. God didn't make us whims. But it's proving us to

  635. be his strong and resilient children. Just like Jesus. He

  636. believes in you and will succeed with His help which

  637. has given you in the Holy Spirit. This is my

  638. counsel to her. Okay, remember, in a time of great distress,

  639. Jesus fell on his knees in prayer and even sweated blood,

  640. but found the strength to proceed with the will of God.

  641. On our behalf. Did God just remove it from him? No,

  642. you and I the tough stuff is meant to make

  643. us tougher. God already believes you are tough and you

  644. can manage it. I see the good choices you have made.

  645. This is what I told her. I see the good

  646. choices you've made. You're looking after your mom. I see this.

  647. What you may fail to see is that everything that

  648. you have done is a seed in his eyes. I

  649. told her this, Everything that you've done is a seed

  650. in his eyes to grow something good in you and

  651. for your days to come. I told Ella Mabel, it

  652. was so tough looking at my mother on Friday because

  653. she was ten percent of herself. Seriously, I mean it

  654. took the strength out of me. It exhausted me. And

  655. it's just one full day of nine hours. It exhausted me.

  656. She exhausted me because of what she was talking about,

  657. what she was saying, and how she was saying and

  658. how she was behaving. Oh so I understand, my friend.

  659. But today I told her, elder member, you know what,

  660. I didn't regret it. See that part of me is

  661. not saying, ah, you know what does this have to

  662. go through the art? No, because I realized that I

  663. was caring for someone who cared for me all those years,

  664. and God was giving me an opportunity to bless her back.

  665. I felt so blessed. I didn't feel bad about it.

  666. I was exhausted, I was thoroughly wiped out, but you

  667. see that that was not what was driving me. And

  668. I will end soon. Okay, So try it as I might,

  669. despite surrounding my life to him. I do sin. We

  670. all do. But it's not about how many times we

  671. do mess up, but how many times we continue in

  672. faith to seek His forgiveness and try again. That is

  673. the strength of character, and that is the strength of faith.

  674. It is so easy for us to say I'm a

  675. hopeless sinner, there is no hope in me. I'm not

  676. even going to ask the Lord to forgive me because

  677. I'll fail again. So who have you not believed? Have

  678. you not believed yourself? Or have you not believed God?

  679. Because what did God say? If you ask me to forgiveness,

  680. ask me to forgive you, I'll remove your sin as

  681. far as the ease is from the yes. So when

  682. I met up the millionth time and I go to God,

  683. I'm believing God at his word. That God's word is

  684. not dependent on what a rotten character I am, but

  685. dependent on how good He is. And that's an important

  686. distinction to me, because the Bible says without faith, it

  687. is impossible to please him, for he who comes to

  688. God must believe that he is and that He is

  689. a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Guys, I

  690. hope that as we enter into this time of prayer

  691. and fast thing, that you will see that prayer is

  692. your window of opportunity to commune with your God and

  693. mine to see great things happen in your life. Because

  694. when he says no to you, it's not the end.

  695. It means you know what you're learning how to never

  696. ask for the wrong thing again, or how to never

  697. ask for the right thing in the wrong way. Doesn't

  698. that make you better for the future. Yes, that's what

  699. you call growing matured, becoming the matured child that you are.

  700. You're looking at a person here who's got thirty years

  701. of failures ahead of you, because most of you are

  702. half my age, all right, So when you look at me,

  703. my success is now come with more failures than you

  704. have committed in your life. I got a thirty year

  705. head start. Then when you reach my age, they say

  706. I've come to the age of your failures. Then I say, sorry,

  707. I got another thirty years more. I'm still ahead of you.

  708. But you know what, it doesn't matter, because it just

  709. means that I got thirty years more experience of learning

  710. how those failures can be overcome in the name of Jesus.

  711. So with that, guys, I hope you have been blessed

  712. by this session on prayer in good times and in bad.

  713. So even as you and I go into this time

  714. of prayer and fasting, you're going to see great things

  715. happen in your life. Then it becomes a joy to

  716. pray because pray, Yes, praying is getting on your knees

  717. and praying yeah. That is prayer. Prayer is also going

  718. for the morning walks and talking to the Lord about

  719. the weather. That is also prayer. Prayers. Also sitting in

  720. your car and thinking about someone in his name, prayers

  721. also about Lord, should I eat this today? The Lord

  722. say no, it's bad. That's also prayer communication with the Lord.

  723. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more

  724. information on our church, please visit as Church Org. We

  725. are also active on Facebook and Instagram. We're believing that

  726. this week is going to be a good week. I

  727. hit for you, God bless
