  1. You're listening to a message to go from at church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day.

  3. All elujah by the grades of God. Yeah, some of

  4. us want to I want to encourage you that even

  5. as you are in the first week. Yeah, you have

  6. two ways to go. I want to encourage you to

  7. continue keeping the faith. Amen, continue to go strong, continue

  8. to press in. For those of you who are new

  9. to X church X churches embarking on a season of

  10. prayer and fasting, Yeah, for twenty one days. Twenty one

  11. days derived from the Book of Daniel, and Daniel fasted

  12. because he was really desperate for God to move, right,

  13. God to move. So we're gonna, we're gonna. Yeah, something

  14. is acting up here. Someone is clearly not happy that

  15. I'm speaking this morning. Come on, we are gonna we

  16. are gonna cast out. Oh h We're gonna speak against

  17. the enemy. Stop. That's your sign to kill the all right,

  18. all right, praise Lord. Lord is good. Amen, Come on God,

  19. it is good all the time. All right? Can I

  20. have my slights up this morning? We're going to be

  21. studying or we are going to be going through the

  22. Book of Hooseia. Anyone know are familiar with the Book

  23. of Hosea. Yeah, I'm not gonna ask you the raise

  24. up your hands. But Hosea is a book where it's

  25. written with a lot of encouragement. Yeah, but it takes

  26. a lot of analogy. You know, you're going to read

  27. it and you're going to go like, actually, what is

  28. God trying to say through this book? And in fact,

  29. this book started off with God actually given an instruction

  30. to Hosea. Now some contexts. If you need extra context,

  31. you need extra introduction, please go to the Devotional Guide

  32. scanning on the QR code and you will receive a

  33. PDA booklet which you can actually have an overview, a

  34. chapter by chapter overview, all right, of the Book of Hoseia.

  35. All right, So Hosea is a prophetic book that uses

  36. the marriage Everyone say marriage, any single people in the

  37. house today, Oh my gosh. Hey, by the way, I

  38. just tell you all something fun. Did you know the

  39. I can't do this? Well, but you know lion king,

  40. lion king who knows how to do the see when

  41. yah da da da? All right? You know that that

  42. actually means that in the actual language, it actually means,

  43. look that it's a lion. Oh my god, that's that's

  44. actually what it means. All right. So the Book of

  45. Hosea is a prophetic book that uses the principle of marriage,

  46. and not just any marriage, a marriage between a prophet,

  47. one's chosen of God and one of the lowest lowest.

  48. All right, If anyone knows rehab, rehab is a prostitute. Yeah,

  49. And but rehab was used by the God by God,

  50. and rahab was the genealogy of Jesus. By In this

  51. same light, there's a woman called Goma. Yeah, Goma was

  52. also a prostitute. Now, how many of you, now, if

  53. you receive an instruction from the Lord go and marry

  54. a woman that is in that field of work, how

  55. many of you will be shaken? Come on, how many

  56. of you will be shaken? Just really think about it.

  57. You are a man of God. You are appreciing the

  58. word of God, you are living the life, you're doing ministry.

  59. You're doing so well, and suddenly God comes to you

  60. and say, I tell you what, my dear son, this

  61. is what you should do. Now. I'm not saying that

  62. every instruction is like going marry that prostitute. No, And

  63. God loves the prosecute. Amen. God loves them. I'm just

  64. trying to get your to imagine that one day, if

  65. you receive an instruction from the Lord that is away

  66. from the norm, how would you react. Yeah, it's easy

  67. to obey when it is something that makes sense. For example,

  68. for example, person A, leave your job and apply for

  69. this job, and you go to the job and you

  70. see like four forty percent agreement. Is it easy to

  71. follow the instruction that's given by God? It's very simple, right, Yes, Lord,

  72. indeed it is your instruction. Therefore I shall okay. I

  73. try to try to illustrate that when God spoke to

  74. Josea and say, Josea, marry this woman, because I'm trying

  75. to teach the people of issue something. The people of

  76. Israel far from God. They were worshiping idols. They were

  77. unfaithful to him. But yet hooseia O pay. But how

  78. many of us will listen when the instruction comes and say,

  79. I tell you what, person A, give up this multi

  80. million contract and no explanation. Yeah, when God gave who

  81. said the instruction to marry this woman, he did not

  82. say that, oh, you marry this woman because I'm about

  83. to do this, this, this, this, this, No, it was

  84. an instruction something that came to you and go like,

  85. what is this even God? But how many of you

  86. know that God is the god of impossible Amen, that

  87. in God there's nothing that is impossible. So this is

  88. the context of the Book of Hosea. Now I pray

  89. that you don't don't just stop here, don't just listen

  90. to me. I want to encourage you to read the

  91. entire fortyen chapters of Hoseia right, go through it, because

  92. it's a wonderful book. It's a wonderful book in the

  93. Old Testament. But the context is that issue is unfaithful,

  94. and it shows how God's people kept turning to idols

  95. in the bog of Hosea. They keep turning the idols

  96. found securities and shallow devotion. That means from the outside

  97. they look like good people, they look like people who

  98. worship God, but on the inside there's something that is

  99. not right. If you go to your Utune guide, can

  100. I have the next slid? Yeah? Before that, I have

  101. this image to encourage you that whenever you see this

  102. heart yeah, because two weeks ago I said I will

  103. preach about a part two about a heart check. Right,

  104. I want you to whenever you see this, miss, whenever

  105. you notice this picture appear on the slide, I want

  106. to put your hands on your heart. Can you do that?

  107. Can you do it together? Now? Yeah, put your hands

  108. on your heart, because whenever this picture comes up, I

  109. want you to check your own heart. That means whatever

  110. there's on the screen, there's a question over there. I

  111. want you to check your own heart. Now. This handle

  112. the heart is just a reminder for each and every

  113. one of us to check. Do not just listen, right,

  114. Do not just see that and go like, oh, tune

  115. off or start checking your phones. Though, really, if it's

  116. there's if there is an important slide in this entire sermon,

  117. it is the slide with this heart. Okay, so check it.

  118. I will not tell you when you will just appear?

  119. All right? Is there a great church? Got it? Amen? Amen?

  120. Let me get this? Oh all right? So next night

  121. we're gonna talk about fast thing. This morning, and I

  122. have a statement to start us off. Biblical fasting is

  123. not just giving up something, amen, Bibigal fast thing is

  124. not just giving up something. Many of us think that

  125. fast thing is giving up our ability to eat meat.

  126. For example, I was on a vegetable fast, not abstaining

  127. from vegetables, because that's very easy. But I was on

  128. a vegetable fast MEAs I only partook of vegetables. I

  129. allowed some tolerances here and there. But I tell you what,

  130. the moment I broke my fast yesterday. Because I do

  131. a week by week fast, I changed my fast week

  132. by week. But I really miss meat. It's really really

  133. vital in my life. And I thought I was almost

  134. going To'm not gonna make it. Tell you what, when

  135. I tasted that buck good day yesterday, Who praise the Lord.

  136. The Lord is good, Thank God for klang alayah. I

  137. found a very good Buckley shop by the way selves

  138. dry buckle day. The moment the first time we visited

  139. that place, I don't know it called Should I promote

  140. it here? And then they're gonna come and stone me.

  141. What's the name of the shot Russia? Find out? Okay ah,

  142. We came there, we ate there for the first time.

  143. There was nobody in the shop. Nobody, so we thought

  144. to ourself, Uh, is this place even gonna be worth it?

  145. We went there, true enough, we ate it was really good, right,

  146. So we came up yesterday and we went and the

  147. whole place was packed. So I told you I think

  148. it's it's USA. They brought the crowd right, praise the Lord.

  149. But it's not just giving something up. It's about giving

  150. God the rightful access Again, what does that mean? It

  151. means that you're giving back to the Lord what you

  152. actually ought to give back to him. Amen, let's just

  153. dive for a little bit deeper. Can I have the

  154. next light STV? So first thing is not only about simus, Amen,

  155. It's not only about abstinence. It is about alignment, affection, surrender,

  156. and waiting on God until your hearts come home. Yeah.

  157. So it's not just about giving up something abstinence, it's

  158. about giving to God what is right. And what is

  159. right is your alignment to him. It's your affection to him.

  160. When you look to God, you looked at him affectionately. Husbands,

  161. can you look at your wife's right now? Give her

  162. or him the most affectionless look that you can ever give.

  163. Come on, show affection right now, not in a physical way,

  164. but in your eyes, husband's word? Can you come on?

  165. So are you closing your head? Are your data? Oh?

  166. Look look wise, look back, look back? Do you feel

  167. do you feel the love? Do you feel the affection. Sorry, comen, John,

  168. but I'm sure if you see, he will give you

  169. the most loving eyes stare he can ever give. Well,

  170. when you look at God, do you have that same affection?

  171. Do you look at God and you go like the Lord,

  172. the Mighty God, the greatest of the heaven and earth. Wow,

  173. Thank you Lord for breath. This morning I woke up

  174. and I say good morning to God, and suddenly I

  175. just start smiling. I don't know how many of you

  176. you know experience that? But is that? Is that how

  177. we approach our creator in heaven? What is right? What

  178. is right is surrender? Do you surrender what you have

  179. unto him? Do you surrender your decisions to Him before

  180. making one? Amen? And what is right is waiting on

  181. God until our hearts come home. We're gonna we're gonna

  182. touch a little bit on the two words that is highlighted.

  183. It's underline over there a lit wit later waiting and

  184. until our hearts come home the next light. So some

  185. questions for this morning. Our bodies may be in church,

  186. some many of you in church this morning. Praise the Lord.

  187. You made it. Give yourself a pan on your back

  188. or your hands. Yeah, you made it. Praise the Lord

  189. you made it. But you are here, you are all

  190. dressed up, you all look good. But can I just

  191. give you all another point of view? Could it be

  192. that our hearts can still be far from God even

  193. if we are here we're see it in this place.

  194. But could it be? Could it be? I'm not saying

  195. that it is, Raise the Lord if it's not. But

  196. could it be that there is a possibility that we

  197. can be seated right here looking at me eye to eye,

  198. but yet you're still very far, so close, but yet

  199. so far, so near, but yet so distant. I'm just

  200. taking the time to reflect because it's a very hatey statement,

  201. it right, it's a very heavy statement to think of,

  202. that we can be here, but yet we are not here.

  203. Next sly XTV. Thank you. So God is just trying

  204. to encourage us this morning to not just give something up,

  205. but give him what is right again, to wait on

  206. God until our hearts come home, until our heart is returned.

  207. And what is a returning heart. A returning heart is

  208. when our inner life, our inner being, returns back to

  209. his right place in God where he originally created it,

  210. when He originally created men. His intention is so that

  211. he can have a fellowship with us. He men, that's

  212. his desire. Do you know that that's the desire of

  213. our God. He desires to have a fellowship with us.

  214. He desires to have a relationship with us. That x

  215. TV that is gone. We stay before God long enough,

  216. I say again, we stay before him long enough for

  217. him to do and inward work in us. Giving what

  218. is right also means waiting upon the Lord. In scripture says,

  219. those that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.

  220. They shall mount up with wings like egos. How many

  221. of you desire that for your life this morning? How

  222. many of you desire a breakthrough in him this morning?

  223. But did you know that in order to wait upon

  224. the Lord, the word wait over here means that to stay.

  225. It means to stay long enough for Him to do

  226. it in ward work in us. Let me give you

  227. an illustration. Paul, one of the greatest apostles to ever live,

  228. one of the the one who wrote majority of the

  229. New Testament. Did you know that prior to his ministry

  230. he had to wait upon the Lord. He waited not

  231. one year, not two years, not even ten years. He

  232. waited thirteen years before he was used by the Lord,

  233. before the Lord's sake go. But prior to that, he

  234. had no inkling on when it was the right time.

  235. All he heard was to wait because he had to

  236. get something that's ready within him. Many of us here believers.

  237. In fact, the world is teaching us nowadays everything is fast, fast, fast,

  238. Everything is now now now, everything is yesterday, should be done.

  239. But did you know that when it comes to God,

  240. most of the time, in my experience, waiting is always

  241. key because waiting brings about something that is really, really different.

  242. You can't rush waiting when you're a big a bread.

  243. You can't rush the process. Amen. What happens if you

  244. mould the flower or something you call it flower? Yeah,

  245. and then you place it into a container and you

  246. put it straight at the oven. No? Is that how

  247. you do it? No, you have to wait for it

  248. to prove. You have to wait for it to rise.

  249. There's always a process when it comes to everything. And

  250. when I look at bakery, I'm always reminded about God's

  251. love for us. Because you put it in too soon,

  252. it's not gonna work. You put it in too long,

  253. it's gonna tata. Everything is gonna be. Everything must be

  254. in its time. Amen, but waiting here. May I just

  255. encourage you. Even as you look at the word waiting,

  256. are you looking at it from this perspective? Are you

  257. saying to God, God, no matter what, I'm gonna wait

  258. here until something changes within my heart. I'm gonna wait

  259. here even though you are silent. I'm gonna wait here,

  260. even though you have not given me a sign. Christian's

  261. believers in this place, I will to encourage you that

  262. it's not some As believers, we are not ought to

  263. always look for the next thing. Yeah, we always were

  264. always wanting to move from one place to another. But

  265. I'll tell you what. When Paul was moving around and

  266. when he was doing his ministry, he did not even

  267. know where he was going next. Did you know that

  268. it was a holy spirit that revealed to him where

  269. to go step by step. Amen. So we got to

  270. get comfortable with waiting. We got to get comfortable with silence.

  271. We got to get comfortable with the concept of waiting

  272. long enough until something changes within us. Amen, and friends

  273. and family. I want to encourage you this morning that

  274. there is a way to wait upon the law. There's

  275. a way to get there, and fasting is one of

  276. the best express ways to get thing towards what He

  277. has in store for us. Amen. So we're gonna talk

  278. a little bit about fasting, and we're gonna go deeper

  279. in the book of Hoseiah. By doing so, can I

  280. the next like very quickly, some of us prayed this prayer, right, yeah,

  281. a lot of us praise is prayer? You mean an accident? Yeah,

  282. we got you get into something bad? What do we pray?

  283. God send me a mechanic. And then when the Kassas

  284. driver drives by and drives by you and goes to

  285. the next person, you go like, God, what is going on?

  286. I'm the one that that that that lost the tire,

  287. and I don't know change tire. You know, I've seen

  288. so many people right puncture tier beside just rendered there.

  289. They don't to change there. So changing tires a life skill.

  290. Please don't how to change your tires? Okay, Please please

  291. don't to change your But some of us we pray,

  292. we pray this prayer God change my situation. This is

  293. sound familiar. Yeah, those of you who have done your

  294. exams already, you've done it. Ea, but I don't know why.

  295. I don't know why you still have to go back

  296. and check that answer. Why done to day? Yeah, you'll

  297. talk to yourself. But when we try to ask that

  298. God change my situation, help me. Lord, Now, is it

  299. wrong to utter this prayers? No, it's not. But I'm

  300. just trying to give you a different perspective instead of

  301. always praying God, change my situation. Maybe you can try this, God,

  302. bring my heart back to you in this situation. God,

  303. bring my heart back to you in this situation. Doing

  304. a fast, you may be thinking that you're fasting for

  305. a specific need. Of you enter the fast, you have

  306. a specific need already. Lord. I'm praying for a breakthrough. Lord.

  307. I'm praying for a new direction in my job. Lord.

  308. I'm praying Lord for healing. I'm praying for my family.

  309. I'm praying for my kids. I'm praying for ministry. We

  310. come together, me and Rachelle right, and sometimes we say,

  311. we've got to pray for our church. We've got to

  312. pray for our ministry, We've got to pray for our team.

  313. So we start off fast and we start praying. Right,

  314. we start praying. It's fast to pray because we don't

  315. just fast without prayer. But I kind of appreciates last week

  316. fast thing is prayer. It dependents on God. But when

  317. we fast, we start praying God in the name of Jesus.

  318. But you heal brother children. Let me just give you

  319. a real life example. Okay, we will make body children

  320. whole again. And that's all prayer. That's all prayer. We're

  321. colling pray for brother children. But while you wait on God,

  322. you may discover certain things in your life. But I

  323. kind of use the analogy of chips water, take some

  324. more chick, some tire, chick something young. Yeah. Right, you

  325. enter the house, you're looking for the bride, and what

  326. you find is something different. You know, me and my wife,

  327. my wife especially, Sorry to put you on the spot last. Sorry, okay,

  328. I just say sorry in first before I share this out.

  329. But she has this beloved beloved, Can I say any

  330. any anymore? What's the thing? What's the thing called? No,

  331. the the orange color thing that can can do the

  332. carrots son? What is it called shaver pillar piller? So

  333. there's this orange one that to me, there's a job. Well,

  334. but I tell you what, Rachelle has a white one,

  335. white one that I tell you what. It does the

  336. job like no other pillow can ever do. Recently, she

  337. was trying to make carrot salad. Carrot salad, I don't know.

  338. She asked me one someone. I said that one. So

  339. she made Cary sell and I say, babe, babe, let

  340. the much of men help you.

  341. Dolla.

  342. Right.

  343. She was just I tell you, I was to the point.

  344. I was so annoying because I was like, it's just

  345. the pillar. Just use the orange run. She cannot the

  346. orange one, can. I cannot pew the the nice one day?

  347. I want the one already shut. I tell you cannot find.

  348. I'm like, I'll tell you what. I'm gonna help you

  349. go and get the find the white color pillar. We

  350. purned the whole house upside down and we cannot find

  351. the white color pillar. Yeah, we cannot find. I'll do

  352. this day. By the way, you think I'm sharing it

  353. in the story and with us finding it, No, we

  354. can we ever found it yet. I don't know where

  355. the world is gone, Okay, I we have came to

  356. it at least me became the conclusion that my cat,

  357. my cat has stole the pillar, and I don't know

  358. where in the world she has placed it. So one

  359. day it will come on, one day will come out.

  360. So I went as a much of my am. I say, okay,

  361. I tell you what, babe, I got this. I got

  362. this to the orange pillar instead of feeling we didn't

  363. three slices, I left the place. I left the place,

  364. and the Carol said that was not a carrot salad.

  365. So praise the Lord while we're finding. So one day,

  366. one day, one day, we will find that that white

  367. color pillar. By tell you what rachelle while finding for

  368. the white color pillar. Guess what I found? Guess what

  369. I found. I found my hot wheels toy that I've

  370. been looking for for the entire time when I got married.

  371. I found my hot reels toy. Praise the Lord. Is

  372. that little car that I go.

  373. Like, wo Yeah.

  374. So you may be looking for something in your life.

  375. You may be praying for a breakthrough, but while looking

  376. for it, you may find something else that you do

  377. not even know that you have lost. I've forgotten about you, ready,

  378. I really forgotten about it. And my theory is stuggles.

  379. My cat took my car and heed it. I tell

  380. you what, if I open my sofa right now, I'll

  381. find a lot of things. She has just this way

  382. of just hiding things. So when you're fasting church, you

  383. may be having a specific prayer and praise the Lord

  384. if he gets answered. But sometimes you wait on the Lord.

  385. You may discover that, hey, perhaps my fast has led

  386. me to a place where I realized that my heart

  387. is beginning to feel a little bit impatient, and perhaps

  388. God is trying to touch that part of your life.

  389. God is saying that, Hey, I tell you what. You

  390. may start off, you're fast with a knee, a specific need.

  391. But when God leads you and then you wait on him.

  392. Because when you fast, that's what you do.

  393. Right.

  394. What do you do when you fast? You're supposed to

  395. fast lunch. What do you do while you fast your lunch?

  396. Go and play computer game? Yeah? No, you're supposed to

  397. wait upon the Lord. When I do that in my work,

  398. I wait upon him. I just sit there. Literally, Yeah,

  399. I just sit there in a stone. People look at

  400. me dating stoning, la, But just close my eyes and

  401. I'm not sleeping. I'm just talking to him. I can't

  402. do whre long la, okay, Because I tell God, God

  403. is when I fast, my write and my my normal

  404. lunch bell how long I take to eat the ch

  405. chicken rice five minutes? So I just give them five

  406. minutes a lot, Okay, anyway, sometimes it's longer. Sometimes it's longer, right,

  407. So we tend to do this, and we tend to

  408. realize and I realize it. Sometimes you come to a

  409. place where you realize that, hey, I'm getting a little

  410. bit impatient here. God, I tell you what I've been

  411. in full time four years, but I haven't seen the fruits.

  412. And it gets dangerous when you start to put your

  413. own work, you put your own hand, or you turn

  414. to certain people. You turn to people like John and

  415. you go like John, I tell you what this is

  416. what I'm going through. Or you turn to Rachel. Rachel,

  417. you know what this is what I'm going through, And

  418. I tell you I need your support. I need your

  419. support in ministry, Rachel, and who is amazing right in ministry?

  420. You turn to her instead of relying on God, Instead

  421. of relying on God to give you a direction, return

  422. to man and you go like, Man, can you give

  423. me the solution? Tell me where to go? Because I

  424. believe in you. I believe that you you will present

  425. the voice of God. Although that may be true, but

  426. I want to encourage you to wait upon the Lord,

  427. wait for his voice. Some of us our love for

  428. God has cooled. You may start off that fast thinking that, hey,

  429. I'm praying for the healing of my firstborn. He's going

  430. he or she is going through a certain Cuddain sickness,

  431. and all our attention, all our love is on that child.

  432. But God is trying to look at you and say that,

  433. my child, where is your love for me? And before

  434. I answer your prayer? I want you to return to

  435. me first and first the family. Do you know that

  436. as long? Sometimes you may think that if we experience

  437. something that is not our breakthrough and you go like, hey,

  438. but God, then where when is my tone? When am

  439. I going to experience the prayer that I've been praying for.

  440. I want to encourage your friends, if you align yourself

  441. to the will of God, God will answer your desires. Amen.

  442. He will. It's true that alignment is true, that love

  443. for him drawing near to him, aligned to him. Where

  444. some of these other prayers get answered? Amen? It's like

  445. main point, sub point, get wet we are going at

  446. so we first not just to be empty? How many

  447. of us know that we fast not just to be empty?

  448. We fast so that in our emptiness we may encounter God. Next,

  449. you can have the next light were fast so that

  450. in our emptiness we may encounter God. So this morning,

  451. I'm going to talk to you in three main points,

  452. and we're going to just just discover a little bit

  453. more together. Right, The three main points I have for

  454. you this morning, if you're taking notes, is fasting empties

  455. us of fouse promises of fousefulness. Fasting also exposes and

  456. breaks hardened ground, and fasting positions us for true encounter

  457. with God. The next slight will show you a picture

  458. of Israel. I believe, correct me if I'm wrong. Now,

  459. the Kingdom of Israel was split into two regions, right,

  460. the first region being the Northern king of Israel, which

  461. we call it Ephraim, right during the and this is

  462. during the reign of King Jobalm. The second yeah, this

  463. is the story of Hoaiah. The second half was Judah, right,

  464. the King of Judah. Now the blue one is kind

  465. of Israel, the origin of the King of Judah. And

  466. we're going to focus on the kind of Israel this morning.

  467. This is the season in which it is the most

  468. the most politically stable and prosperous. Time they miss. Everything

  469. seems to be going well, you know, Israel has not

  470. always been like that. Sometimes there's war, sometimes there is femine,

  471. there's a lot of struggle. But this was the season

  472. where it is the most stable. And how many of

  473. you know that in the most stable situations you tend

  474. to go away from God, you tend to forget about him. Yeah,

  475. but it was, it was, It was the most prosperous. However,

  476. spiritually and the moral standards will be gaining decay. The

  477. main issue that we face was idolatory Israel. They faced idolatory.

  478. They place other things, objects of people in place of God.

  479. There was the main problem that was face and God's

  480. love for Israel was shown through the Book of Isaiah

  481. despite her unfaithfulness. Now I'm just giving you some some

  482. illustrations before we start, and this was illustrated through Isaiah's

  483. personal life. Sure, if there is a line that has disappeared,

  484. maybe I didn't didn't put it up over there. Yeah,

  485. it's illustration through his personal life. And this was the

  486. instruction that God given to Oseia Hosea, marry this woman. Yeah,

  487. the next light and we're gonna go on. The first

  488. point for you this morning is that fasting empty earths

  489. of foalse promises Joseach of the five verse fifteen. Joseage

  490. of the five verse fifteen. He says, I will return

  491. again to my place till they acknowledge their offenses. Then

  492. they will seek my face in their affliction. They will

  493. earnestly seek me. In their affliction, they will earnestly seek me.

  494. Matthew five verse six says, Blessed are those who hunger

  495. and urse for righteousness, for they shall be feel You know,

  496. the Kingdom of God does not promise feeling to those

  497. who are casually interested. Yeah, the Kingdom of God does

  498. not promise a feeling of the spirit to those who

  499. are casually interested, meaning so for some of us. Yeah,

  500. And this will remind to myself as well. If you

  501. come to God with a casual appetite, we will not

  502. be filled. He says again, and I really again, Blessed

  503. are those who hunger and turns for righteousness, for they

  504. shall be filled. You know, God said that he will

  505. withdraw and in their affliction they will earnestly seek him.

  506. You're going by the book of Hoseaya. He said he

  507. will withdraw, and in the affliction they will earnestly see him.

  508. You know, this tells us something very important Church, that

  509. sometimes we as people, we do not seek God deeply

  510. until we realize that once that the thing that once

  511. satisfies us can no longer satisfy us anymore. And this

  512. is what fasting does to us as well as where

  513. in this season of fasting, as we take away what

  514. use that we used to enjoy and we continue to

  515. seek Him earnestly, that's where we will find the answers

  516. to what God is trying to speak to us in

  517. our affliction. We will earnestly seek Him. And sometimes we

  518. do not realize how fool we are of other things

  519. until fasting begins to empty us. What are we talking

  520. about this morning? We're talking about false emptiness, foulstfulness. How

  521. many of you here have eaten at to a point

  522. where you're very, very full, maybe a buffet, right, you

  523. have eaten so much until your soul full? How many

  524. of you here think that you are filled with the

  525. presence of God this morning? Nobody? Nobody? Amen, Oh man,

  526. I pray that you will you will be filled with

  527. His love, Because there is such a thing as false fullness. Church.

  528. You can be fool but not fulfilled. You can be

  529. surrounded but still spiritually dry. You can be surrounded by

  530. so many people who love God in this place, but

  531. yet you live this place thinking like, hey, what what

  532. did I just hear? What do I just learn? What

  533. just entered me? You can be busy, but inwardly you

  534. are disconnected. You can be eating every day by yet

  535. you're starving your soul. So Church, fouls fullness is when

  536. our inner life is crowded with the things that keeps

  537. us from hungering rightly for God XTV. If you can

  538. follow me, it is the next light. So I want

  539. you to just reflect right now what is actually feeling you? Now?

  540. I remember the hand on hat. It's just a pointer

  541. for you to start thinking what is actually feeling you

  542. and what is keeping your life crowded? Take the next

  543. minute or so to just reflect. It's a time of reflectioner,

  544. that's why I'm silent. What is actually feeling you? Church?

  545. And don't just look at the outward Please, don't just

  546. look at like, oh, you know what my calendar is like?

  547. There this that? No, Really dive deep into your heart

  548. and ask yourself what is actually keeping a life crowded?

  549. To give you some examples, it can be comfort, It

  550. can be a routine. It can be a distraction, entertainment.

  551. My wife just muttered the word pickable to me. Yeah,

  552. perhaps self reliance. What is actually feeling us this morning? Control?

  553. How you like to have control all your life? How

  554. many of you love it when you wake up in

  555. the morning and you know exactly what's gonna happen. There's

  556. a routine. What happens when God breaks up your routine?

  557. What do you do? You start cursing, you start shouting

  558. and start wailing. You know, there was once I always

  559. break with my wife. I always break line, and it's

  560. not a good thing to do so, but I have

  561. this ego, this pride. I go to her and I Rochelle,

  562. did you know that in my twenty years of driving,

  563. I not once entered an accident, not even once for her.

  564. I don't know whether I can say the same. Yeah,

  565. but she's a very safe driver. I can say that

  566. she's a very safe driver. I am not that safe, Okay, Yeah,

  567. so I always bragged I never got to accident one

  568. fine morning when I was on the way. Now it

  569. was a Tuesday morning. Yeah. And for those of you

  570. who know I work full time in a ya Asian

  571. youth ambassadors, and I was assigned to lead worship for

  572. staff devotion on Tuesday morning. So I was there and

  573. I was like, oh, there was a few times I

  574. was just adjusting her. By the way this happened, I

  575. think about a year and a half ago, I was

  576. still adjusting to my new work. Yeah, and I always

  577. struggled to reach office early enough to prepare the slides

  578. and everything. And ideally I need about forty five minutes

  579. to practice the cards because I'm not a great singer,

  580. neither my good guitarist, so I need to practice. Yeah,

  581. so I I reached I aimed to reach my eight

  582. the tea, but every time I reach eight fifty because

  583. of the kasas gem. Yeah, you're not the notorious cassage gem.

  584. It's very very bad. And I faced so much problem

  585. with it. Okay, So this one morning I woke up

  586. and I say, I tell you what. I'm going to

  587. leave my house seven o'clock. And if I leave my house,

  588. said the clock, I think I can reach my AID.

  589. And if I reached my AID, I was able to

  590. prepare I were to sing, Well, I will geek up

  591. my best. I can serve him. I can do this.

  592. I have all these plans in my mind that oh,

  593. this is the routine. Ready, I'm going to do it.

  594. And as I was on the way to work, I

  595. met into an accident. I scratched my beloveds cars, my beloveds,

  596. my beliver they are just say my beloved car. Yeah,

  597. I was I was supposed to say my beloved wife,

  598. my beloved wife's car. I scratched it a very nice

  599. and nice and beautiful scratch on the left because I

  600. was turning right. I was turning and then I was

  601. actually on my phone. Sorry, sorry, okay, I was actually

  602. on my phone. I was checking the ways. I was

  603. trying a click click click click. I didn't realize I turned.

  604. I turld you without looking. Yeah. But then after that

  605. I went into the street lane. I was driving straight

  606. and I was looking at I think the next thing

  607. I knew. So what happened was a myv turned into me. Yeah,

  608. and then I banged myvie straight on and I brought

  609. the movie for a joy ride for about ten meters. Yeah.

  610. So together we chatted all the way. It was a

  611. very very bad accident. Yeah. And I tell you what.

  612. The moment I got in the accident, the self righteousness

  613. started to kick in. The first thing I said, is

  614. are you right this person doing away? The first thing

  615. that I say, you know, I didn't say sorry, God.

  616. I didn't say sorry anyone because I was looking at

  617. the phone the entire time I was trying. Then I

  618. was like, okay, God. The second person, see yah, I

  619. want you to realize when I started to say God,

  620. when I actually turned to him. The seconds I called Bassendra,

  621. I said her, sorry, I canna come to her early

  622. this morning and show a picture. I said, Okay, I'm

  623. going to be late.

  624. I'm going to be late.

  625. Littlely I know that I was late and you I

  626. didn't make it all right. I spent. We went to

  627. the corner. We started arguing. I still remember this was

  628. this this young ten years younger than me. She was

  629. you know what, I think Mills or something.

  630. Uh.

  631. And this was this very pleasant Indian woman, very nice

  632. on We're talking to one another and then I'm like

  633. she started off, well, you know, she started off, well, sorry, sorry,

  634. I really didn't mean I really mean it. And I'm like,

  635. oh my my confidence out of the ROLLA yealla, I

  636. tell you what, yeall, watch your color? What you turning?

  637. Never sign you know, simply turning on me. I said, hey, hey,

  638. I gotsh cameo.

  639. Uh.

  640. So I went to ash cam. You know, I opened

  641. ash cam. I reviewed the footage. I saw she signal.

  642. I'm like, oh, uh, we go police, We go police,

  643. we go police, because apparently, apparently I read somewhere that

  644. is as long as you are in the right of lane,

  645. you are right. So I keep on going there. I know,

  646. I keep on going there. I tell you what. I

  647. went to IPD. We found out they go to IPD,

  648. went all the way to Charlam, bring the car there,

  649. and as we were seated, we were seated in front

  650. of the police officer, I started to feel my Heartler Daniel,

  651. you are the one who is wrong. The blame is

  652. not fully on the girl. You are so wrong by law.

  653. So the police officer looked at this, this woman, and

  654. she said, you are wrong because in Malaysian law, even

  655. though you signal the right of lane is the one

  656. that's going straight, you must make sure that everything is

  657. clear before you assume. But your creator mussul, yeah, before

  658. you put your car inside the lane. So I like,

  659. in my heart I should be happy, you know, but

  660. actually in my heart I was so burdened. I was

  661. so occupied. I was still so what's the word, And

  662. there was so much remorse. It was further confirmed by

  663. when I forwarded the video of the buzzer kind of

  664. I was kind of look at me through the rec

  665. text and say like, yeah, that's it. I think, you know,

  666. just yeah, that's it. I'm like, okay. So I decided

  667. then and there to tell the officer. And I can't

  668. do anything more because officer ruled her guilty to day,

  669. so she had to pay the three hundred dollar fine someone.

  670. So I decided to share half HALFLA with her. So

  671. the whole timer, I haven't seen anything of good, you know,

  672. no a single time. This was all out of your

  673. guilty conscious, all out of my own this own self

  674. borrow that I'd make this decision. And then suddenly finally

  675. got to wis to me, Still's poke voice just whispered

  676. to me, Daniel, do what's right? I said, God, what

  677. do you mean, do what's right? I already offered to

  678. pay half Daniel, do what is right? The feeling didn't

  679. go away, and I already knew, I already knew where

  680. it was going. Ready, So I told the girl. I said, girl,

  681. forgot her name. I will pay all of it. Let

  682. me pay for it, because I think I'm wrong. Still,

  683. I think you know. Still I think you know, and

  684. I repeat myself, I know I'm wrong by the rule

  685. of law. I think the police officer said you're wrong,

  686. But actually it's my fault because I was looking at

  687. the phone. I admitted it. The moment I admitted it

  688. to her, suddenly all the burden orders left and I

  689. had to go through an entire process of getting the

  690. car into the workshop. And he got fixed a thing

  691. about almost two weeks before he got fixed. I was

  692. driving around their car with the big scratch for two

  693. weeks before he got fixed. So what's what's the point

  694. over here? Sometimes we we operate our lives with such routine,

  695. such control that we we want to have control, But

  696. sometimes God mixes it around. It places us into situations

  697. where it causes us to rely more and depend on him.

  698. So now I no longer have the decimony of never

  699. getting into an accident. I no longer able to brag

  700. about that. But now I left with a new found

  701. understanding that, hey, I tell you what, you can have

  702. all the control in the world. But sometimes when God

  703. wants you to learn something. He will make you learn it,

  704. and sometimes it will be the hard way and it

  705. may not be what you're seeking. So in this season

  706. of prayer and fast thing, no matter what it is

  707. you're seeking from the Lord, break through or what I

  708. pray that it will come to fulfillment. But do not

  709. be surprised if something deeper on Earth's amen. So what

  710. is really feeling your lives when they're close? With a

  711. few more examples emotional dependence? Who do you turn to

  712. when you're in need? Even religious activities like coming to church?

  713. Is that feeling your life? Because you can be here again?

  714. But you're not here? The intimacy is not there, next,

  715. next light, next TV. Sometimes the question in fasting is

  716. not just what am I eating? Sometimes the deeper question

  717. is what has been feeding me besides God? So Church,

  718. what has been feeding you besides God? Again? The heart

  719. is over there? Questions where or what do I run

  720. to when I'm tired? What do I rich for when

  721. I'm stress? What do I lean on when I feel uncertain?

  722. This one's important. What comforts me faster than prayer? Where

  723. do we find comfort the moment you're stress, you turn

  724. to your wife, and the wife gives you a nice

  725. massage and something that stress just goes away. Where do

  726. you turn to Have you ever thought about it this way,

  727. that that stress feeling that you are having, maybe it

  728. is God putting you through that season and all you're

  729. trying to do is to get out of it. Have

  730. you ever thought about it this way? We are trying

  731. to solve things that perhaps God has placed us in.

  732. This is why fast thing is not only just removing.

  733. It is a revelation of what God is trying to

  734. speak to us. It is in that fasting you things

  735. get revealed to us. It shows us what has occupied

  736. too much space in us. That's not fasting us. It

  737. shows us that actually what has been feeling you. Perhaps

  738. it's something that's causing you to have that false sense

  739. of perspective that you're actually full. Perhaps it's that morning

  740. Bible verse daily that you're reading your version. Oh yeah, God,

  741. I am reading MA every day. I get notification verse

  742. of the day. Now, please do not feel offended. Okay, please,

  743. there's you just keep doing it. Yeah, But the question

  744. here is really let's go deeper are which is depending

  745. on verse of the day, Because did you know that

  746. verse of the day. Did you know how it came? What?

  747. Did you know how verse of the day? Do you

  748. think someone in the U version app actually sit down

  749. more in the in early in the morning, prays to God, God,

  750. what shall be the verse of the day today? And

  751. then he gets a revelation from God and he puts

  752. it in John three sixteen. Did you think that's how

  753. your version work? I found out that it is Ai.

  754. So if you're saying that God speaks to you true Ai,

  755. true verse of the day through an elger Rim, then

  756. perhaps it's time the thing again. Yes, he may. He

  757. may cause the stars to align and you're going through

  758. something and suddenly Verse of the day pops up and

  759. that's the exact something then you're going through. But are

  760. you going to continuously depend on that? Because God is

  761. trying to take you on a journey where it where

  762. it requires you to put this thing away, to put

  763. this thing away, to pick this up and go like, God,

  764. what are you saying to me? Huh, you mean I'm

  765. supposed to put my eyesac on the outdoor. The job

  766. that you have just given to me. Now I'm supposed

  767. to give it up, the job that comes with the

  768. six figure salary that you're just given to me, that

  769. you promise me. I don't know a fast love God,

  770. because when I first write, you start revealing things that

  771. I don't actually want. You start to reveal things that

  772. are actually in the heart that is causing you to

  773. actually feel and think that you are actually fool that

  774. you do not need God. But when God realizes that,

  775. when the Holy Spirit knows the condition of the heart,

  776. he wants to bring you back because he knows he

  777. knows where you truly are at in your life, that

  778. he just wants to bring you back to a place

  779. of full reliance on him. He Men. You may start

  780. off being fully reliant, but when you start being blinded

  781. and being sudden things that start to cloud your vision,

  782. you start to turn away from him. That's where God

  783. wants to bring you back. Amen, So can we have

  784. the next light? When we are full of things that

  785. are not gone, there is very little room left for

  786. genuine encounter. Amen, There's very little room left for genuine encounter.

  787. That's what hoseaoh five If says that they will seek

  788. my face, don't notice the language. It does not say

  789. sick my hand, It does not says seek my miracles.

  790. Know it says, seek my face, that is, knowing who

  791. God is, a man, his nature, not his works. And

  792. in that reflect in our affliction, we will genuinely seek him.

  793. Next light, fast thing takes us away from what numbs us,

  794. so that we can recover what truly nourishes us. Amen.

  795. So that's what fast thing does for us. The first

  796. thing also exports roses and breaks hardened ground. That's what

  797. fasting does. Hoseah ten to twelve says, So for yourself righteousness,

  798. reap in mercy. Break up your fellow ground, for it

  799. is time to seek the Lord till he comes and

  800. reigns righteousness on you. Jeremiah fo three also says. Ford

  801. says the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem,

  802. break up fellow ground, and do not so among the tones.

  803. Can I get a good Amen? Do not sow among

  804. the torns. The phrase that stands out in the Book

  805. of Isaiah ten twelve says, break up fellow ground. What

  806. is fellow ground? Fellow ground is a ground that has

  807. been left untouched. The next light, it is unworked soil heart, soil,

  808. soil that has not been broken open, soil that is

  809. not ready to receive seed and rain properly, and sometimes

  810. our hearts needs to be broken up. And this is

  811. what fasting does. The heart can become hard, not only

  812. true rebellion, but true disappointment. I want you to check

  813. your hearts right now. Is that true? Is that true

  814. in your lives? That your heart can can become hard

  815. not only true rebellion. Because some of us we associate

  816. our the hardening of our hearts to something that is drustick,

  817. or we stop coming to church, we stop going, we

  818. stop giving, and then we feel like, oh, that is

  819. hardening of our hearts. But did you know that disappointment

  820. can also live lead to you hardening your hearts. Not

  821. only true sin, says the next slight, but true delay,

  822. true delay. Oh God, I've been waiting for this call

  823. from the HR for two months now and I have

  824. not received a call. God, you don't care about what

  825. I'm going through. Can't you see the bills that I

  826. have to pay? Delay? Delay, Often hardens are heard and

  827. instead of praying, because you're praying, you started off their

  828. journey very strong. You say I'm going to fast. I'm

  829. going to take communion every day until I receive a breakthrough.

  830. First day you do it. Second day you do it.

  831. You hit the first man. You're still going strong, but

  832. the second man you're studying the question because there's a delay.

  833. You're asking God, God, is this even working? Is this

  834. even your plans for me? And God is saying continue,

  835. pressing on, continue going forward. Do not be distructed by

  836. words on your life or what's You're right, But as

  837. human beings, we tend to look what's left. We can

  838. look at the left and you go like, why I

  839. look at that. Look at that guy. He's doing well,

  840. isn't he. You look to the right and you look

  841. at it, and then another guy and you go like, wow,

  842. he's also in his study trees. He's study five mid

  843. mid thirties now, and he's a stadium manager whoa look

  844. at at eleven. That guy is doing stocks and he's

  845. doing so well. And you look at your own self

  846. and you go like, what are you doing? What are

  847. you doing? Then you start the heart in your heart,

  848. and communion becomes a monthly thing, and it slowly becomes

  849. a yearly thing. Break up fellow ground not only true compromise,

  850. but true repetition and familiarity he Brews three twelve to

  851. thirteen says, beware, brethren, if you have your Bibles, you

  852. can turn to them. Okay, I'm just gonna rush a

  853. little bit because of time. But he Brews three twelve

  854. to thirteen says, be where, brethren, Lets there be any

  855. of you, any of you, an evil heart of unbelief

  856. in departing from the living God. Let any of you

  857. be hardened thrue the deceitfulness of sin. Sometimes the heart

  858. grows hard because of pain, that's the next light. Sometimes

  859. because of a prayer that felt unanswered. Sometimes it's also

  860. because of long seasons of responsibility. Tell me of your

  861. thinking diet. Because you're serving in church for five years now,

  862. maybe some of you ten years, and you start to

  863. feel like I tell you what I've been going on

  864. and on and on. I have a very honest conversation

  865. with Elder Beanngle that day, and he encouraged me by

  866. just saying, keep on going on. Some of you here

  867. do you do? You do? You start your journey as

  868. a parent excited. Now your kid is six years old

  869. and you're still very excited. And then now it's twelve

  870. and you're going like that, Tell you what I'm going

  871. to give up? Is there an option? Parents keep on

  872. going on long seasons of responsibilities given to you. Sometimes

  873. our heart grows hard because we keep functioning without truly processing,

  874. and it's all we do is self. You know, engine

  875. doesn't need to have maintenance one. Yeah, my car has

  876. been reminding me for the longest time, going service to

  877. your car, reminding me again and again and again and again.

  878. I keep ignoring it. I hope that I will not

  879. leave to regret it. I better go and service it soon.

  880. But you got to You got to process what's going

  881. on in your life. Sometimes our hearts is hardened because

  882. perhaps we have learned how to do church without being

  883. soft before God. We feel that I tell you what,

  884. as long as I come to church every Sunday, it's

  885. going to be a As long as I open the

  886. Bible every day, it is going to be okay. Did

  887. you know that perhaps that could also lead to a

  888. hardened heart. A hardened heart that is so used to repetition,

  889. a hardened heart that is so used to control, and

  890. when God starts to move a little bit, you start

  891. to feel uncomfortable next night. This is why fast thing

  892. is so necessary church, because fast thing exposes and breaks

  893. the hardened ground. When we fast, things begin to surface.

  894. When you fast, you begin to go into the house,

  895. and instead of looking for that lost pillar, you start looking.

  896. You start you find other things that have been hidden.

  897. You find that little car, You find that, Hey, I'm

  898. actually quite impatient. You find that, Hey, I get frustrated

  899. quite easily. You find that, Hey, I get irritated quite easily.

  900. But hey, God, I'm fasting for my father's healing. But yeah,

  901. God is answering you through different things. I tell you what.

  902. You better watch your countenance, better watch your pride, you

  903. better watch your spiritual dullness, because only you and I

  904. know that, Hey, Daniel, you do not open the book

  905. my book every morning to read. And he encourages us

  906. that way, because he's saying God, he's saying Daniel, he's saying,

  907. he's saying Rochelle, he's saying John, he's saying, go open

  908. the book because I want to speak to you. Firsting

  909. exposes that he exposes, and he breaks hardened ground. Can

  910. we go back to the verse, Oh, say a chapter? Yeah,

  911. got the chat? Chapter ten? Vers? Can we go back

  912. to the verse, Notice a sequence of what and this

  913. is how we will go to a third point and

  914. you'll close. The first step is that you have to

  915. break up the harding ground. Only when you break up

  916. the ground, you will seek the Lord. That means you

  917. got to first pray and seek the Lord. Hey, God,

  918. I am willing to soften my heart. And when you

  919. seek the Lord, you will have to wait until he comes.

  920. You have to wait until it comes, and only finally

  921. you will receive the breakthrough. Only finally, some of us

  922. here we enter into our ministries. Our prayer is hoping

  923. for the last part to come, almost immediately. That's our prayer, right, God,

  924. rein your righteousness on me, rain your miracles on me,

  925. rain your break truths on me. But he's saying you, Daniel,

  926. in order for that rain to come, you got to

  927. first break up the ground and get it ready for

  928. the rain to come. Because if you do not break

  929. up that ground, my rain may come, but it may

  930. not take effect because your heart is so hard. But

  931. not only that, you must continuously remember that it's not

  932. just a one off thing. It is a constant seeking

  933. of the Lord, and not just seeking, but seeking until

  934. he comes, Amen, seeking until he comes, and then and

  935. then only he reigns Amen, he rains This means that

  936. breaking is part of the preparation. This means that fast

  937. Thing has made us aware of your temper. How many

  938. of you, through this one week of First Thing realize that, hey,

  939. actually you're not that great, not the great, because tell

  940. you what, first first chicken for one week, you start

  941. to go crazy. Ready, you start to you start to

  942. tell your wife and and this is not true story,

  943. but you start to give excuses. Hey, didn't you No,

  944. I'm fasting. Your first thing is Isiah. Huh, your first

  945. thing that's on you, You're first thing to break up

  946. your hard and ground. Why you start to use it

  947. as an excuse? Guys, please excuse me for this one week,

  948. these three weeks of because why because I'm fasting? So

  949. sorry if this face is black, sorry if this face

  950. is just really dull and not smiling. We start to

  951. make excuses. That's not what first is about, friends, Because

  952. you start to realize that, hey, I actually, actually I'm

  953. quite emotionally fragile. How many of you woh, whoa, Actually

  954. there's a lack of spiritual appetite. First Thing is supposed

  955. to lead you to a place of dependency on God.

  956. But all you want to do in first thing is

  957. to sleep. All you want to doing fascinating to watch

  958. that Korean TV series that you want to binch. Oh,

  959. I tell you what you turn prayer in first twenty

  960. one days. It's the perfect time to finish all your current drummers.

  961. Don't say amen to that. But the encouragement here to

  962. us friends is that God never exposes our hardened grounds

  963. in order to shame us. Remember he exposes the hardened

  964. grounds so that the rain will come upon us. Amen.

  965. Next night, last point before we close, fasting positions us

  966. for a true encounter with God. Hoseiah Chatter fourteen, verse

  967. one to four. This is the last book of the

  968. Book of Hoseiah. He says, Oh Israel, return to the

  969. Lord your God, for you shall for you have stumbled

  970. because of your iniquity. Take words with you and return

  971. to the Lord. Say to him take away all iniquity.

  972. Receive us grace, for we shall. For we will offer

  973. the sacrifices of our lips as Syria shall not save us.

  974. We will not ride on horses, nor will we say

  975. any more to the work of our hands. You are

  976. our gods, small g for in you you for in

  977. you the fallowless fine mercy. I will heal their backsliding.

  978. I will love them freely. For my anger has turned

  979. away from him. Amen, anger has turned away from him.

  980. After all the warning, all the exposure, all the correction,

  981. This is God's encouragement to all of us. The invitation

  982. of God is still to return to the Lord your God. Amen,

  983. After everything that issue has done in this season, after

  984. all the idols they have worshiped, after all the unfaithfulness

  985. it is they had, the invitation remains the same. This

  986. is a beautiful but in the bah. But of course,

  987. if you're further read, you know that the third people

  988. is usually not turn back to him. But God always

  989. has our best in mind. He always wants us to

  990. return to him. That is the invitation. Can you imagine

  991. being disappointed time and time again. Sometimes we will give up,

  992. but God never gives someone us. That invitation still remains

  993. the same until this day. Amen, to return to Him.

  994. Return to the Lord your God. Not emptiness for emptiness sake.

  995. Fast thing is not dead. Do not think that fast

  996. thing is just to be empty, just to be empty,

  997. But it is to encounter Amen, is to encounter God.

  998. The goal of fast thing is not just that we

  999. become weak and stop there. The goal is that in

1000. our weakness we rediscover the presence of God. So I

1001. just want to encourage your friends that in this one week,

1002. you're one week in, you have two weeks ago. Put

1003. your hand on your heart again and just ask God

1004. right now, God, I want to encounter you. Do not

1005. let me. Do not pass me by in these tricks

1006. without an encounter with you. I want to encounter you

1007. in my life. Yes, I may be praying for a

1008. certain specific need, but God, this heart remains open to

1009. receive whatever you have been stored for me. Amen. That

1010. should be our prayer. That should be where we're hated,

1011. in our weakness we discover God's presence. O Saya fourteen says,

1012. Notice it. The people were told to say, a serious

1013. shall not save us. We will not ride on horses,

1014. we will not say anymore to the work of our hands.

1015. You are our gods. Did you know that? In other words,

1016. they were renouncing found saviors. Sometimes we need to renounce

1017. that in our lives we need to speak to our

1018. serious We need to speak to what that we actually

1019. think that it's going to keep us going. Besides God,

1020. we've got to look at that, and we're gonna like,

1021. I tell you what I renounced that in the name

1022. of Jesus. I renounced I renounce the work of my hands,

1023. saying that I tell you what it is because of

  1024. what I did at s M k U S J.

1025. For that the people, the teenagers over there, they will

1026. experience God. It's because of what I did, not because

1027. of who you are, but because of what I did.

1028. Because sometimes the shift becomes so easy because of the

1029. work of our hands. But we often forget that it

1030. is the that is the power of God that enables

1031. the world of hands to bear fruit. Or we'll look

1032. at it and say, like, you know what, I tell

1033. you what it is. I it is I who started

1034. that CF it is I who started that work. We're

1035. gonna start We're gonna start renouncing it because they are

1036. really not it's not it's not dead. It's God. Get

1037. read of foul saviors. That is what encounter does. That

1038. is what encounter requires when you're fast, when the Lord

1039. reveals to us we got to start getting rid of

1040. it in our lives that that spiritual dependency on things

1041. that are not Him coming back to virtually matters with

1042. is God. And first thing brings us there? Amen? Amen,

1043. judge all right, can I go to the next light?

1044. These are these are the what what it represents? A

1045. seal represents political power, and the horses represents the military

1046. strength and the work our hands represents the idols human

1047. making security. So next night will show you this. What

1048. does you're Assyria? What what are our as serious? Horses

1049. and word of hands? Today we've got to reflect on that, right,

1050. what is it? What is it? I give you some examples.

1051. Does it sound a million? My own strategy will save me,

1052. My own productivity will save me, My money will save me,

1053. image ability, network, disrection, coping habits. We rely on this

1054. sometimes too much. Yes, we may have a good and

1055. great network and we rely on that network to save us.

1056. Your family may be going through something that is very,

1057. very very difficult, but rather than turning to God, you

1058. turn to your networks. You pick up your phone and

1059. you start going through your phone book, and you start

1060. going through names that may get you out of the situation.

1061. God can use people, Amen, But allow that first step

1062. to be God. Allow that first step to be God.

1063. Fasting positions us to say, no, none of these things

1064. are my savior. God alone is my source. Amen, God

1065. alone is my source. It is a way of saying, Lord,

1066. I do not want you to keep leaning. I don't

1067. want to keep leaning on things that truly cannot hold me.

1068. I want to encounter you, the one who heals, the

1069. one who restores, and the one who loves freely. And

1070. this is the amazing thing. When the people of Israel

1071. starts to renounce the found saviors, this is what the

1072. Lord promised on them. This is God's response. He will

1073. heal their backsliding and he will love them freely. Amen.

1074. This is despite of all of the things that the

1075. the ture of Israel has done. God said that if

1076. you return to me, this is what I will do

1077. for you. He meant, and that's what fasting does. The

1078. next light? Is there next light? If you have your Bible,

1079. we're gonna turn to this book, this this verse, and

1080. they're gonna close. Isaiah fifty five, verses six to seven.

1081. Isaiah chapter fifty five, verse six to seven. You're gonna say, Amen,

1082. are you there? I Saya fifty five, verse six or seven.

1083. We're gonna read this verse together and we're gonna close.

1084. He says, seek the Lord while he may be found,

1085. call upon him while he is near. Let the wicked

1086. forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let

1087. him return to the Lord, and he will have mercy

1088. on him. Father, in the name of Jesus. Indeed, your

1089. mercies are new every morning. And Lord, this morning, we

1090. just want to present our bodies as a living sacrifice

1091. unto you. Lord, whatever fast that we are going through,

1092. let us come to a realization. God, that is indeed

1093. not about what we want and what we desire, but Lord,

1094. is about what you desire for our lives. So Lord,

1095. this morning, as an alignment, can I just get everyone

1096. here to just stand your feet, and I'm just gonna

1097. bless each and everyone here. If that's you, you want

1098. to align your fast back to the Lord. You're saying,

1099. you know what. I have entered into the fast, perhaps

1100. with not the right spirit, But God, I just want

1101. to bring myself back to you again. I want to

1102. hear you. I have two weeks left of what I'm

1103. doing intentionally, but God, I don't want to leave. I

1104. don't want to leave these three weeks not hearing from you. Once. God,

1105. I want to hear your voice. If that's you, I

1106. want to encourage you to raise your hands and right

1107. now we just want to pray over you this morning.

1108. Thank you, Lord Father, in the name of Jesus. Lord,

1109. we want to encounter you. We want to hear your voice,

1110. Holy Spirit, Begin to minister right now, begin to speak

1111. to us God. Indeed, Lord God that if we have

1112. started off on the wrong foot not I pray that

1113. you will bring us back to you at the end

1114. of the day. Lord God, we really, we really are

1115. desperate to hear what you have in store for us.

1116. Speak to us. Our prayer needs. All of that is

1117. just secondary. We want to know you more. We want

1118. to know you deeper, cause our hearts to not be

1119. hard on God. Help us, Lord, help us realize that

1120. perhaps that very thing that has been keeping us full

1121. all this world, we need to empty it. We need

1122. to empty it from our lives. We need to think

1123. that thing that once that is taking the place of God.

1124. I mean to take it and put it aside so

1125. that you can come in and you can feel us again.

1126. I'm just sensing that some of us in this place,

1127. God is just trying to come in. He's trying to

1128. pour his living waters into your hearts. But yet nothing

1129. is going in because it's already full. There's no space

1130. left for God. Your stomachs may be empty, but your

1131. hearts are full of things that it's not him, and

1132. he's just trying to speak to you. This morning. I

1133. just sense that there are people in this place that

1134. needs to start to surrender right now. Surrender whatever that

1135. is bothering you. Surrender whatever that is on your thoughts

1136. and on your minds, and learn to rest upon the Lord.

1137. Learn to wait upon him this morning. Learn to wait

1138. upon the Lord, and you will cause you to rise

1139. up like the wings of eagles. He will cause you

1140. to walk and not be wary. It cause you to

1141. run and not faint. Lord like, in the name of Jesus, Lord,

1142. we just declare life and life more abundantly over your

1143. children here this morning. Begin to feel them as they

1144. begin to take up things that are perhaps taking your place.

1145. Little by little, Lord, we pray for your spirit to

1146. just flow, and as you come into our hearts, Lord God,

1147. I pray that those things will begin to come out

1148. of our hearts. And we desire to walk with you.

1149. So renew our hearts again, turn our hearts back to

1150. you Jesus, as we can depend on you. Heal our

  1151. backsliding God.

  1152. Heal.

1153. Our hearts causes to beat again for you. So again,

1154. those that are really sicking for God to just come

1155. true for you in these three weeks or in these

1156. two weeks that are left, why don't you just raise

1157. up your hands once again. The Lord bless you, The

1158. Lord keep you. The Lord caused his face to shine

1159. upon you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you,

1160. and give each and every one of you peace, the

1161. peace of the Lord that surpasses all understanding. May his

1162. peace rests upon you. May his voice be ever so

1163. clear in the coming days as you focus on him,

1164. and as you draw near to him. Now we declare this,

1165. and we steal all of this in the name of Jesus.

1166. Pray and all who believes, say, Amen, Amen, Why don't

1167. we give God a short of praise?

  1168. Amen?

  1169. And keep us?

  1170. Then?

1171. Keep us then, for such a meaningful message and the

1172. searching message. Please take your seat. I remember in Psalms

1173. one Tree nine, verse twenty three says such me, Oh God,

1174. and know my heart's today, Try.

1175. Me and know my thoughts.

1176. See if there's any wicked way in me, and lead

1177. me the way everlasting. Perhaps as you listen to the

1178. message today, you're asking where is my heart? Like past

1179. I has been talking about it in the rightful place.

1180. What's the condition of my heart today?

1181. When as we're going to.

1182. Next part of uh the starvation call X Stevie, Even

1183. as we come to this time of making his starvation call,

1184. let's not do it just like what we have been

1185. doing week after week like a lootin. And even as

1186. we say this, perhaps you're asking this question, how can

1187. I come near to God?

  1188. I don't know him.

1189. Hm, And you feel that your hearts are far away
