So good evening again everyone. Yes, my name is Jason

and I've been with x KK for the past two weekends,

so I feel like I'm part of x KK already.

But unfortunately Easter I have to go back to ex

clang again. All right, Unfortunately, no God's calling. I mean,

all my ex claim people here always told me later.

But yeah, so it's it's good to be here. Uh.

And it's it's so good to see a full house

here in a good Friday. All right, So do you

know what is good about good Friday? Do you know

what's good about good Friday? What's good about good Friday?

So Jesus died on the Cross? Well done? Okay, I

give top Marx to the x kids, teach us and

also to my little friend over there. Correct is because

Jesus died on the cross. So I wanted to start

with you know, it's Friday night. You might have come

from a long day on the office, stuck with traffic

jam look at the patrol prices. Stress, right, So we

start with a comic, so we give it right, So

how many of y'all have seen this comic before. You know,

the comic says, here, I hate the term good Friday.

And the guy says why, And he says, my Lord

was hanged on a tree that day. If you were

going to be hanged on that day and he volunteered

to take your place, how would you feel good? Have

a nice day. And that's my summon. So I can

do an altar call, but it's essentially that is what

good Friday is. Good Friday is a day. It's supposed

to be a day. You know, most of the time

when we celebrate Good Friday. Most of the time, I

see it a lot of times where it's very heavy

on the emotions. You know, you feel like, wow, you

have to watch passion of the Christ. You have to

be have a lot of guilt on you because Jesus

died for your sins and you. And then suddenly right

two days later on Easter, you're like, whoa celebrating? Funnly,

you no more guilt anymore. You know, You're like, praise

to God, He's risen. But actually, when I look at it,

good Friday is supposed to be a day where we

are full of gratitude. We are full of gratitude, just

like what this comic says. Right, if you were going

to be hanged on that day and he volunteered to

take your place, how would you feel? How would you feel?

And that's what I feel Good Friday should be. That's

why when I was coming here as well, right, Uh,

then I just my wife, she is playing Good Friday music.

I was like, why so Emo? You know why? It's

no Emo Good Friday music. It's supposed to be. I

need to be. I'm so thankful, like you, thank you

for the Cross. You know, you you want you want

to sing songs of victory because you know how the

story ends, you know. And I want to have such

a spirit of gratitude. And that is where I hope

to bring this message across. So, if you have been

in church for at least more than a year, you

would be very familiar with Good Friday and the message

of the Cross. But I want to share a different

perspective to and I hope that, with God's grace, that

he will open our eyes and that he will give

us a deeper appreciation of what He has done for

us on the Cross. Okay, all right, so just one minute, Okay,

so I wanted to start with a pop quiz. Pop

quiz right, Friday night pop quiz? Good enough, goodner. Okay,

So if you know this, just fill in the blanks.

No pain. Ah see, very smart. Don't wish for it,

work for it, corright. Okay. There's no such thing as

a free lunch. I see you're doing very well Friday night. Okay.

Next one. If it's to be, it's up to me.

If it's up. If it is to be, it's up

to me. Next thing. God helps those who help themselves.

How many of you all know think that that is

from the Bible. No, it's not from the Bible. But

most of the times we use that code and say that,

hey you're going to especially parents, tell your children you

better study. God helps those who help themselves. Actually, you're

not quoting the Bible, you know. Fun fact, you're not

quoting the Bible. But all the phrases that I mentioned

earlier are all phrases where we live by. It is

the hustle culture. No pain, no gain. You look at

Albert Link, no pain, no gain. Where is here no pain,

no gain? Right, you have to work for it. You

have to work for it. There is no free lunch.

You know, if it's to be, it's up to me

to get it done. But you know, that is the

way of the world, and it contradicts what the message

of grace is. You know what's the message of grace.

Grace is God giving us what we don't deserve. We

can't earn grace. You can't earn grace. And that's why

sometimes we don't appreciate what God has done for us

on the cross because we think a salvation is free, free,

free is good or not. You know, if somebody gives

you something free, I think this one not not good.

That's why he gave me free one, you know. And

that's why sometimes we as Christians, we downplay what Jesus

has done for us on the cross. You know what

he done, what He has done for us on the cross.

It is free, but it is not cheap. It's free,

but it's not cheap. Even if you wanted to buy

it on your own, it is impossible. And that is

something that we have to remember, all right. So most

people approach God the same way. You know, you think that, hey,

I have to do something, you know, for me to

be a good Christian. What is a good Christian? What

is your definition of a good Christian? Is a good

Christian somebody who helps the poor, who visits the sick,

who teach us in Sunday school? What's your definition of

a good Christian? A good Christian should be someone who

is grateful and always seeking God because it's not about

what we do. It's not about what we do. Because

right now, even in other places, right if you feel that, hey,

I need to do good things, because same thing in

your office. You know, how are you evaluated? You're evaluated

based on what you do in school? How are you evaluated?

You're evaluated on based on how you perform? But in

God's eyes it's different. He is not evaluating us. He

came here to invite us back to him. We don't

have to do anything right, So let me go to

the that next line. So our world worship's effort, our

world worship's effort, and sometimes that culture comes into the

church as well. You know, we we think that, hey,

to become a leader, I have to do more or

to be blessed more. If I fast more. How many

of y'all have are finishing your U turn after this right?

So if I fast more, then God will bless me more.

Then that is all about effort. You know, you're trying

to strong arm God to give you what you want,

because based on what you think you are doing, you

think you can strong strong arm God. But that's not

the case. So the title for today's sermon, now I'm

going there. The title, man, see it is amazing grace,

amazing grace. You know, it's not just grace, it's amazing.

It's not just grace, it's amazing. And that is the

revelation that I want. I hope the Holy Spirit will

instill in us that the next time when we sing

this song and the next time when we hear the

word amazing grace, we will realize how amazing it really is. Right,

So next light, what do I need to do to

get saved? That's the question? Right. So this is a

question where somebody went up to his pastor and asked

what do I need to get to do to get saved?

And the pastor was being cheeky. You know what the

pastor said. The pastor said, it's too late, you can't

do anything. Then the guy was like, what you mean,

there's no hope for me? Say no, there's hope, but

there's nothing you can do to get saved. Say why,

because it's already been done two thousand years ago. Nothing

you do can get you saved. It has already been done.

You don't have to do anything. You know. That is

the power of the Cross. It has it is done,

you know, And which brings me to my first point

is this that it is amazing. Grace is a gift.

It is a gift. It is already done. We don't

have to do anything, you know. And that's why, right,

it is very different from the world that we are

living in. Is very different from every other religion in

the world. Do you know that it's very different from

every other religion. Every other religion will tell you, hey,

you need to do this, you know, like for example,

our cousins who also were fasting, right, why do they

fast so they will get forty virgins or you know,

based on what you fast, you'll be rewarded in heaven,

you know, and if you don't fast, you will be

then penalized. So nearly towards every religion, right, their God

is based on a merit system. How much you are

rewarded is based on how much good you do. It's

the same like they talk about karma. Have you heard

of karma? You do more good things, you get good karma.

You do bad things, you get bad karma. But Christianity

is not like that. It is not about what we do,

and that's the good news. Can you imagine that if

you have to work for your salvation, how many of

us will be passing or how many of us will

be failing? Right? In terms of every day you have

to check and see, hey, today I got ten points

and then after that somebody cut me off in traffic

minus five, and then suddenly I started gossipping about my

colleague minus two. You know, you you will start doing

all this evaluation my end. Then you're like at the

end of the dayah, God calls you home early that

time you're like negative fifty. You're like, oh, too bad.

You know so you're you're always on the edge. You're

always on the edge. What do I need to do?

What does God wants me to do so that he

will be pleased? Do you know that God is pleased

with us? Regardless? God wants a relationship with each and

every one of us, regardless of who we are or

what we have done. He came to die for every

single one of us. So let's look at some scripture

next Ephesians two, verse eight. God saved you by his

grace when you believed, and you can't take credit for this.

It is a gift from God. Salvation is not a

reward for the good things we have done, so none

of us can boast about it. You know, when someone

gives you a gift, you'll be like, if someone gives

you a gift, it comes up to I come up

to Pastaden, gives him a Since he liked pickleball, I

give him a boomstick. Or you'll be like, then you

think Pastaden will be like, wa, I'm so good. That's

why Jason gave me the boomstick to be like, no, hey, guys,

make friends with Jason. He gives very good gifts. That's

what you will be going right, because you'll be like, hey,

I want to be friends with somebody who gives me

good gifts. And you will start boasting about the person

who gave you the gift. You know, start boasting about

what this how good this person is. And that's what

we need to do as Christians, because we have received

the gift of eternal life, and we received it. It's

not because of what we have done. But it's because

of who Jesus is, and he is the one that

gave us eternal life. So it'd be like, guys, you

want eternal life, No Jesus, you want eternal life. No, Jesus.

He gave me internal life. Do you want it? Why not?

You know? And that's that's why he says here, right,

Salvation is not a reward for the good things we

have done. So none of us can boast about it.

You know, when you go to heaven and then you

talk to somebody else, right, hey, so what do you

do to get into heaven? I'm like, uh, nothing, I

believed in Jesus. Wow. Okay, everyone should have the same answer.

Everyone should have the same answer because I am the Way,

the truth, and the life. No one comes to the

Father except through me. You can't get into heaven otherwise.

You can't get into heaven by feeding the poor. You

can't get to heaven by praying for the sick. Although

all this is what God will lead us to do

for his glory so that other people can experience Him

right next night. So other religions is about what do

you need to do? Christianity alone is it is done

it is done. All you have to do is receive

it is done. So isn't Christianity a good deal? That's

why I say Good Friday is supposed to fill us

with gratitude. You know, wow, I'm grateful. I'm grateful that

Jesus died on the cross and says it is finished,

is done. I don't have to do any other thing

except to receive it. Right. Next slide, Romans fall, So

romans fall sixteen. So the promise is received by faith.

It is given as a free gift, and we are

all certain to receive it, whether or not we live

according to the law of Moses, if we have faith

like Abraham's, for Abraham is the father of all who believe. Right,

So this is something that we need to do. God

has given us a free gift. The free gift needs

to be received. If not right, you go to the supermarket, right,

and then you're go and buy a tin of My

Lord and say, hey, comes with a free cup. But

you have to go to the redemption counter to collect

the free cup. Until you go to the redemption counter

and collect the free cup, you do not have the gift.

You have to go and receive it and that's the

same with Jesus. It's there for us. We have to

receive it. So what do you need to do. You

don't have to do anything. You just have to receive.

Put your hands up and say, Jesus, here I am,

come into my life. May become my Lord and my savior.

That's all you need to do to receive the gift. Right,

So that is the first point. So now I want

to go into my second point. Right, is this next line?

Why did Jesus have to die for our Why? Because

you want to so that we can get into heaven? Right,

all right, So that's the right answer. Now I want

to ask you a second question. Why not, since he's God,

why not he just wipe away all our sins? Because

he's God, right, he's God. He can wipe away all

our sins and then we can go to heaven. Why not?

God is God right, he can do that. Why did

he have to send Jesus to die for our sins?

Why not just wipe away our sins? You know, this

is a question I was also pondering previously, you know,

so I wanted to give you an example. You know,

this past week there was some tragic news. There was

some there's a lot of tragic news. Luck, I think

news is all tragic, right, there's tragic news cells. But anyway,

there was this tragic news where this guy, the father

of three, I think he was going out to buy

some provisions for his family on a motorbike. Just left

his home short distance to buy stuff. Suddenly a car

came swf hid him, he flew and he died, right,

and the whole, the whole of Malaysia, everyone who read

that was in uproar. They were in uproar. Not because

of the accident, but they were in uproar because the

driver was drunk and was it was full of drugs.

And because of that, because he was drunk and full

of drugs, the car became a weapon. The cow became

a weapon, hit the guy, and suddenly three kids lost

their dad, a wife lost her husband, you know. And

right now, you know they are trying to the latest

is they're trying to try him for murder. Trying to

try him for murder. Okay, so all of us you

know this story, so imagine this. Okay, this guy he

goes to court, he goes to court. Everyone already is

against him, right, Everyone's against him. Goes the cart and

sally in front of the judge. The judge says, this

is what you've done wrong. You are guilty of this, this, this, this, this,

But because you are my friend, I let you go.

Because you are my friend. Hey, you know I used

to play golf with your farther so I let you go.

How would you feel? How would you feel? Do you

think that is fair? That's not fair? Right? Do you

think that wow? Do you think that the family that

lost the husband got justice? No? But that's the same

thing as asking God to wipe away our sins, because

when we stand in front of God, you know that

the wages of sin is death and God is a

righteous God. If you say that God just wipe away

my sins, it means you're saying that God, you're not righteous.

Because according to the law, any sin must be punished

and someone needs to pay the price. But who paid

the price? Jesus. Jesus paid the price. So the second

point is this next gratitude. Gratitude, we have to understand

what it costs. That's why good Friday. You have to

understand what it costs. And we are thankful because without

Jesus paying the price for our sins, we would have

faced eternal damnation. Right. So the first point just now

was that grace is a gift, and the second thing

is grace should leave us with feeling full of gratitude

because He paid the price for our sins. Someone had

to pay the price for our sins, and he did so.

Let's look at some verses next Life Romans tree. For

everyone has sinned, we all fall shot of God's glorious standard.

All okay, Yet God, in his grace freely makes us

right in his sight. He did this true Christ Jesus,

when he freed us from the penalty of our sins.

For God presented Jesus as a sacrifice for our sins.

People are made right with God when they believe that

Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows

that God was being fair when he held back and

did not punish those who sinned in times past. Next line,

for he was looking ahead and including them in what

he could do in this present time. God did this

to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just,

and he makes sinners right in his sight when they

believe in Jesus. Do you feel gratitude because this is

what Jesus does did for us. When we are standing

in front of the judge, we'll say you have fallen

shot and your penalty is hell. What can you do

to pay for it? You can't do anything. But when

Jesus comes and stands in front and says, I will

pay their price. I will pay his price. And that

is why we are full of gratitude because we understand

what it costs. Right. Next light Romans Tree twenty six

for he was looking sorry next yeah, the sub next

life Sorry yeah, So Justice Jesus was the substitute. The

judge stepped down and paid the penalty himself. That's what

the judge said. You know. The judge says that you

are guilty. And the judge comes out and says, I

will pay that price because the price has to be

paid because God is a righteous God and he's a

just God. So someone has to pay the price. And

the judge says, I know you can't pay, I will

pay it for you. Amen. Next light Collosions too. You

were dead because of your sins and because your sinful

nature was not yet cut away the God. Then God

made you alive with Christ. For he forgave all our sins.

He canceled the records of the charges against us, and

he took it away by nailing it to the cross.

In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities.

He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on

the cross. You know, when you're in court, you have

a defense attorney and you have a prosecutor. You know

who is a prosecutor. The devil. The devil is bringing

the charges against us. God, you see this guy. He

didn't do this. He didn't do do this. He didn't

do this. He didn't He deserves death. The devil is

trying to grab as many people as he can to

spend eternal d in hell. That's why Jesus says that

he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly.

He said, keep quiet, I have paid the price. They

are under my covering. Now you no longer have authority

over them. You have no more power over them because

they are my people. So it's good, Friday. Good? Does

it sound better? Now? Amen? When Jesus is on your side,

no weapon formed against you will prosper men. Amen. Next,

so you know, on the cross. On the cross, Jesus

said this word it is finished. It is finished means

it is done. It is done. And this is when

you look at the original meaning. Right. It's like in

the when they're doing accounts, the accounts tally and it's

balanced and it has been paid for. You know, like

for example, you've got a car loan. You know you

got a car loan. The last month you're gonna pay

for the last month installment and then the car is

fully yours. When you're going to pay for that last

month installment, the bank will take a chop and chop

it there, paid in full. And that's what Jesus done

has done for us. When he wasn't across, he put

that stamp on us. Paid in full. It is finished.

You don't have to do anything anymore. All you have

to do is receive the gift and then you will

have eternal life with him man. Right, And this brings

me to my third point. So the first point was gift,

second point was gratitude. Third point is grace. So grace

is the cure. What do I mean by cure? Do

you know that all of us were born with terminal disease,

every single one of us, every single one of us.

The moment we were born, we were born with the

terminal disease. You know what was the terminal disease. Let's

look at the next line. When Adam Sin Sin entered

the world, Adam Sin brought death that spread to everyone

for everyone Sin. So the moment we are born, we

have a terminal disease. Think about it. No one is

bad because sin abounded, right, sin abounded? And then we know, right,

because we have a terminal disease, what is the wages

of sin? Next life? The wages of sin is death,

but the free gift of God is eternal life through

Christ Jesus, our Lord Man. So I just wanted to

share it. Like, when we have this terminal disease and

then we say we are born with this terminal disease,

we try and we try and fix ourselves by doing

Keito diet Atkins diet, or by going vegan, or by

taking some TCM medication. It sounds funny, it sounds like

what in the world, But that's exactly what we are

trying to do when we are trying to work out

our salvation with works. Whatever we do can't fix the

disease that we have because the disease that we have

is internal. You know, we can't fix it. What we

need is something external. We can't look to somebody else

for the answer because hey, they are sick or so.

You know, last time in COVID nineteen, you're like, hey, bro,

come let's give me a bit of your your blah lah.

Then you know your blood trunfuse somebody who has COVID nineteen.

Do you think you get healed? No? All right, because

everyone has COVID nineteen for example. I'm just saying, you know,

so it makes no sense. You can't get salvation from

other people. The only one you can get salvation from

is someone who is not infected at all. Someone you

need someone who has that anti body, someone's blood, who

has that antibody that can kill that disease. And only

one person has that antibody. His name is Jesus. And

that's why we have to receive Jesus. So, even as

I draw towards a close right, I want to get

the band up. Just wanted to put it in this way, right,

think of it this way. The world is like a hospital.

The world is like a hospital full of dying patients,

full of dying patients. All of us are dying patients.

There is no cure. There is no cure at all.

Science has not found a cure. Traditional medicine has not

found a cure. Doing good works has not found a cure.

We are trying. Wealth has not found a cure. Nothing

we do seems to be able to found a cure.

That's why they say our good works are like filthy rags.

You know, it's like useless. But then suddenly, right suddenly,

there is someone who steps into this hospital. This person

steps into this hospital, and this person is not infected

at all. This person is not infected at all. His

blood has the cure. His blood is the vaccine for

this and his blood will give us eternal life. But

what he needs to do is that he needs to

transfuse his blood into each and every one of us.

But to transfuse his blood into each and every one

of us, it means that he has to die. He

didn't have to. He didn't have to. He could have wiped,

He could have waited for everyone to die and then

recreate a whole newer. But he decided to say that, hey,

these people are worth it, they are worthy. I am

willing to give up my life and transfuse my blood

so that they will have eternal life. And that's what

he has done. He did that before we were born.

So think about this. In that hospital, that blood bank

is the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus in

that blood bank, even before we were born, and when

we were born with that infection, with that disease. All

we need is say, hey, I want to be transfused

with that blood. I want to receive Jesus. Transfuse that

blood into me. I want to receive Jesus into my

life and then I can have eternal life. That's the

only thing that is stopping us. The only thing that

is stopping us from having eternal life is to ask

Jesus for that transfusion. Jesus, come into my life, be

my Lord and savior. I know I'm a sinner, but

I accept you as my personal Lord and savior. Come

into my heart and live in me. So, Church, why

is it called Good Friday. It's called Good Friday because

Jesus paid the ultimate price so that we can have

eternal life with him. And this morning, if you feel

that you say that, hey, I'm a sinner, God will

not accept me. I tell you that is the lie

of the enemy. That is the prosecutor trying to stop

you from receiving that transfusion. Because Jesus paid the price,

it's there for us. All we have to do is

accept him.
