  1. You're listening to a message to go from acts church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day.

  3. I want to start off with a simple story, very

  4. very simple story. I remember I can't remember the source

  5. or the statement, but basically, there was a church that

  6. held a very big event, evangelistic rarey event, and there

  7. were hundreds and thousands of people, great worship, great preaching,

  8. and along among the people there was a group of

  9. what they call it missionaries from China. Okay, they came

  10. down and then they were hosted there. And then after that,

  11. as the service was going on and almost ending, the

  12. person in charge, the pastor in charge, were you know,

  13. we're attending to them, and they asked the missionaries, you know, oh,

  14. thank you for coming to join us. And then, you know,

  15. how did you find their service? Did you enjoy yourself?

  16. They said, yes, Wow, it was so good, amazing worship.

  17. And they said, wow, it's amazing what it's amazing how

  18. much you can do and we all can do without

  19. the Holy Spirit. When I heard that, I was like, whoa,

  20. it's like sharp, man, this was so sharp. And I

  21. was like whoa. And then because they have seen, you know,

  22. and I heard the story, the Pascel that just kept

  23. quiet them or it's like don't know what to say,

  24. you know. But of course I was not on the

  25. stage when he said that. But then when I heard

  26. that as more and more, I just feel like it's

  27. so true, isn't it. You know. One of the fastest

  28. ways and that we get ourselves beaten and you know,

  29. leave the favor more than anything else, is to learn

  30. to do things out of our own strength. Really doing

  31. things out of our own strength. How many of you

  32. loved You're just a self made man and woman, you know,

  33. talk it out, do it and every single thing. Some

  34. of you probably don't know that you are doing that.

  35. He's in it. You don't realize, you know. I want

  36. to tell you guys, a story today is as a

  37. story of a man, and I think this story, I

  38. hope that the story will kind of like speak to

  39. you about his failures and also the way that he

  40. is revived. And I will use the other word called recovered. Okay,

  41. So the title is Peter, you know, revive and recovered.

  42. You know, so especially the word recovered is a very

  43. very important thing. Okay, So let's stop. I'm not going

  44. to cover everything about Peter, but a few key expects

  45. about Peter. How many of you know apostle Peter when

  46. when you think about Peter was the first thing that

  47. comes into your mind? Brash? Okay, what else fishermen? Oh,

  48. brash fisherman? Okay? What else? What else you think about Peter? Yes?

  49. Any one? Nothing else? Denial the nit three times? You know,

  50. of all the things that Peter's like, heaven they're looking,

  51. you know, looking at us. You know, all of all

  52. the things you remember about me. You know, I read,

  53. I've written books, I've led the church before and not

  54. really you know, the guy that Jesus appointed and the

  55. thing you remember about me, the nine Jesus Street time.

  56. Out of all things, you know, that's the top of

  57. the resume. You know, it's like, you know, the main

  58. the thing that people like the most, you know, ten

  59. billion views, the number one thing. You know. But he is,

  60. uh is a very popular guy, known for most of

  61. the time his weakness more than his strength, true or not,

  62. a lot of people say that, you know, he's going

  63. to be a very brash person. And you know, the

  64. funny thing is he actually he was his story unfolded

  65. in you know, the greatest height and fall happening in

  66. the span of twenty four hours. She less than twenty

  67. four hours, in the span of six hours. Okay, we

  68. all know that. You know he famously denying Jesus three times. Okay,

  69. famously denyed Jesus trying. But did you know that at

  70. the same time when he fell, there was also another

  71. person who fail as wells Judas fail as well. Okay,

  72. some of you will say that, hey, all of them

  73. probably are in the same category. Turnout both of them

  74. are pretty much in the singer Both of them betrayed Jesus.

  75. But yeah, Boho then ended up quite differently. I didn't

  76. prepare in his slides, but I just don't want to

  77. highlight a few things here because I was I saw

  78. doing the slides, I didn't felt like quite quite easy.

  79. I just thought that maybe God wants me to speak

  80. it through without the slides. What was the problem with Judas?

  81. How did he end up betraying Jesus? Followed Jesus for

  82. three years? Are and can ended up betraying Jesus? What

  83. went wrong? Mhm unbelieved? Yeah, what went wrong? Three years?

  84. Are seeing a guya perform miracles? Of the miracles? Are

  85. It's not easy to follow away. You can follow away

  86. political movements and stuff like their CEOs or whatever. But

  87. to see a guide do a miracle after miracle and

  88. to not believe in him after three years is it's

  89. quite quite quite a dramatic forward. No you see, sorry greed. Yeah,

  90. he's agreed as well, because he loved money as well.

  91. The Bible says that in all that he helped himself to

  92. the to the group's money as well. Yeah, but the

  93. main problem with Judas was that he had a wrong

  94. picture of Jesus. He had the wrong picture with Jesus.

  95. Do you get what me saying? You can? And that's

  96. the sad thing. And I tell you that there are

  97. people right now that whether are in church or not

  98. in church, there a lot of times therefore, either in

  99. the camp of Judas or the fault in the chemp

  100. of Peter as well, there are people who follow Jesus

  101. for a long time, but yet they can have the

  102. wrong picture of Jesus. The day that Judas decided that

  103. Peter that he will decide to betray Jesus was when

  104. he realized that Jesus's path after following three years, was

  105. not going to lead to a crown, which is a king,

  106. but it's going to lead to a cross. Sometimes you

  107. don't see it clearly, but only after three years, you

  108. know what I'm saying. I'm saying no. Sometime you follow

  109. U pusson enough like oh it looks promising, but after

  110. I follow you, I realize where you are really heading.

  111. At every moment when Jesus was performing miracles, was winning

  112. the crowd and everything, it was just that one more

  113. step away from just taking it and then be the

  114. king ready. And Judus has witnessed it. You know, He's like,

  115. you can score the goal, but Jesus said no, You

  116. saying we could score the goal. But he said no,

  117. and Jesus said retreated. But yet he let his enemy

  118. do whatever they want. And he realized that until that

  119. last very moment that Jesus say that I'm going to

  120. be arrested, I'm going to be crucified, and that broke

  121. the straw. I follow you three years so that you

  122. can get arrested, you're thinking of just about your own

  123. career or about us as well, you know what I'm

  124. saying now. So the day he realized it was leading

  125. to a cross and not a crown, Judas decided to

  126. cut loss Us. You know, you know what I'm saying. No,

  127. he said the cut Losses. I'm not going to follow

  128. a loser. And that's why he literally you know he don't.

  129. I'm not gonna I'm just knowing now that is Judas.

  130. What about Peter? What about Peter? What was his problem?

  131. His problem was not that he had a false picture

  132. of Jesus. Peter's problem is with a lot of us

  133. as well. One girl of people who had a false

  134. picture of Jesus. But Peter falls into the group they

  135. had a false picture of themselves. You know what I'm saying. No,

  136. one group had a false picture of Jesus and one

  137. group has a false picture of themselves. And this is

  138. the picture where you think you can do everything on

  139. your own. And the same method as well, he also fail.

  140. M M. You know what I'm saying now, So people

  141. who had a false impression of Jesus will fall. Another

  142. group of people who also will fall, but has a

  143. very high chance of recovery. It's a people who have

  144. a false picture of themselves. So in life when you walk,

  145. when especially with our journey with Christ, right God comes

  146. to solve this too. The picture and the vision of Jesus,

  147. in the vision of ourselves. You get what I'm saying now,

  148. correct what we see about Jesus and correct what we

  149. see about ourselves as well. So you see, Peter is

  150. a guy who who is a self made man. It's

  151. a fisher man. Every morning wakes up. What's the first

  152. thing you do? You look at the weather and everything.

  153. It's like wake up. You depend on your timeliness. You

  154. know your knowledge everything, your skill and your net and

  155. the waters. You against the water and you catch. And

  156. then when you know, when you can catch a lot,

  157. the world world will know that you are a successful

  158. fisher man. You know what I'm saying now, it's you

  159. braving the world. He has always been like that. But

  160. yet Jesus had to teach him one very very important lesson.

  161. I'm gonna show you guys in verse thirteen. And this

  162. is one very important teaching. Tell me me to joint

  163. chapter thirteen, first and verse seven. And this is the

  164. part where Jesus, you know that famously wants to wash

  165. his disciples feet, okay, John Chapter thirteen, verse seven, and

  166. he says, yeah. Jesus answered and said to him, what

  167. I am doing, you do not understand now, but you

  168. will know after this. And Peter said to him, you

  169. shall never wash my feet. Wow, how many of you?

  170. How many of us will come today? One day? He said, Oh,

  171. Jesus will never wash my feet. I serve you, not

  172. you serve me. I created this ministry, I do all

  173. this my business, and I serve you. No, you serve me.

  174. It's not the right thing. And then Jesus said, if

  175. I do not wash you, you have no part with me.

  176. What does that actually mean? Okay, and let's go on.

  177. And he says that since Simon Peter said to him, Lord,

  178. not my not my feet only, but also my hands

  179. and my head, then the most mysterious part is this.

  180. Jesus said to him, he who is bathed needs only washed,

  181. needs only to wash his feet. But it's completely clean.

  182. And you are clean, but not all of you, for

  183. he knew who will betray him. Therefore he said, you

  184. are not all clean. No, that's posted for a while.

  185. What is Jesus trying to do here? Why did Jesus

  186. wash his disciples? Fit? Most of you will know what? What? What? What? What? What?

  187. What was the purpose of Jesus doing this act, this

  188. so called very humble and servant act to his disciple.

  189. What was the purpose? It's not a true question. I'm

  190. not doing a fake move Okay, scared you, it's not move. Okay?

  191. What am I doing here? What? What? What? What was

  192. the purpose? He was trying to work examply? Why what?

  193. To teach them humility? But there is also a secondly

  194. very important message, because if it's because Jesus says here

  195. very importantly and he says that he who is bathe

  196. needs only to wash his feet, but it's completely clean

  197. and you are clean. What does that actually mean? He

  198. who is bathe is already clean, need only washed, only

  199. needs to wash his feet. What did Jesus add there?

  200. Why did he Why do he say that? Is it

  201. a hygiene? How many of you, like most of you?

  202. How many times do you wash? Do you shower today?

  203. Most of the time too? I'm not judging, Okay, I'm

  204. not judging. Ah, maybe like you know, maybe you're not

  205. daily and weekly? Okay, fine, And you're like Europeans. You

  206. know you know that some Europeans are there their showermuch

  207. lesser agents, you know, at least in South China. Okay,

  208. I don't know our where, but we shower a lot more.

  209. Every time you come home, we shower a readily. Maybe

  210. before you go out morning you shower once. You can't

  211. beat your shower. But every time you step out the

  212. house you shower and you come back every time. So

  213. if you go and get your parcel and go greturn,

  214. you shower. No, right, not every time you go and

  215. take your dog, you shower everything that So if you

  216. step out your house ten times, you shower ten times. No,

  217. it doesn't make sense to then why because you're already

  218. plead you're already clean. But most of the time when

  219. we come back, what do we do? You wash your feet.

  220. Some people don't wash your feet out here, but back

  221. in the eighties we wash our feet one because we

  222. always sleepers battas sleepers and all the blue color there dirty.

  223. And then we it's like where the stuff like that?

  224. We wash our feet one now and no, I know

  225. fann families are you don't come into the house and

  226. there you wash your feet one. You know, old school style,

  227. especially our parents, our grand parents, you cannot come in

  228. until you wash your feet. And most of the time

  229. before we do anything, we eat anything, wash your hands,

  230. wash your hands? Is it? But you don't do that

  231. every time and on. But you don't do that as

  232. often as you shower. You can understand. Sorry, you don't

  233. shower as often as you do that. Okay, what does

  234. that actually mean? You see, when you shower, you already clean.

  235. That's a Christian. When we responded to salvation call receive

  236. Jesus or heart, we've been made clean, washed by the

  237. blood of Jesus. We abide him. But every day we

  238. go out to the world. Our feet and our hands

  239. touch the world, we interact. We're in this world, but

  240. not of this world. You know what I'm saying. No,

  241. but we are clean already. We shower ready, we wear

  242. a southe we smell good. But we touch, we shake hands.

  243. Some of you wear masks or scale covid. Okay, anything

  244. could be anything, but we touched the world and we

  245. come back. No matter how much we show, we still

  246. wash our hands. It's right. But what is Jesus saying that?

  247. He says, if you do not let me wash you,

  248. you have no part of me. You know, it's not

  249. that you showered en all, It's that as you interact

  250. with the world with your hands, with your faith, with

  251. your mind, with your words, you are dirty, and if

  252. you want to come to this home and interact, you

  253. cannot unless you are clean. And the only way you

  254. are made clean is by me serving you, not by

  255. your own strength. This is what Jesus is saying. You know,

  256. it's a very very powerful thing, and not to us believers.

  257. You know, every day when we interact with the world,

  258. we touch the world, we watch the things we watch,

  259. we hear the things we hear, and everything we think

  260. that we can go out come back, think that we

  261. can just go on and eat whatever we want. But

  262. Jesus says, if you do not let me wash you,

  263. you have no part of me. He's not saying that

  264. you're not safe. Just say is that your hands and

  265. your feet are dirty. Wash it, and the only way

  266. you can be made clean is by me serving you.

  267. So how does Jesus washing our hands and feet looks

  268. like every day? Is that when we come back, when

  269. we have served, when we have worked, when we have

  270. labeled everything under the sun, out of your own strength.

  271. When you interact the world, the ultimate thing that you

  272. need to do is to sanctify yourself by spending time

  273. with him and let him wash you. And most of

  274. the time we need collected. We've been living an unsanitary

  275. Christian life. Don't your neighbor say, let's get hygienie. Okay,

  276. doesn't make sense to you. Now, doesn't make sense to you.

  277. Oh now I understand what he's saying because it highlights

  278. the fact that Peter, in all the things that he does,

  279. he's also been doing together with not just him, many

  280. of us. We do things out of our own strength,

  281. our own strength. I thought, while we get see, we

  282. get hired, and everything, you say no after every single

  283. day when you come back, let me serve you. And

  284. if you don't, you have no part of me. We

  285. have to be very, very humble, you know, those who sir,

  286. you need to go back and receive. You know, you

  287. can say, go my, my, not it's all but me,

  288. So ben give, give, give, gig gift. Then after one

  289. few years and you feelize a this person no longer

  290. in churchman because I never washed their hands in their

  291. feet kind of scarier. It's so Peter didn't understand it.

  292. And Peter didn't really quite understand. So he's a man

  293. who was doing things out of his own strength. You know.

  294. One of the few failures that he did and of

  295. course he fell asleep when he was supposed to watch

  296. and pray. Isn't it not one time? How many times?

  297. Three times? Three times? He was supposed to be watchful again,

  298. looking for danger and Jesus' most what they call it

  299. a dangerous hour, But he couldn't do it three times.

  300. Ask you to stay awake, to watch over your kid

  301. if they are having fever, you will stay awake. But

  302. if you watch your spouse for sleep, your love, he's

  303. going on. You're supposed to watch the temperature. You fall

  304. a steep chair. Sometimes you feel like such a simple thing.

  305. Also you cannot do. Sometimes I don't to do And

  306. then you watch them scrolling your phone. We all like

  307. there isn't it? We all like there is We cannot

  308. keep watching, know we cannot keep one Peter felt in that.

  309. And one of the main one of the main things

  310. that of course no one thinks that he did, is

  311. that he go and cut off the ear of the

  312. all this happening in the span of six hours and

  313. six hours define his life, and that we all remember

  314. for a long time. Six hours and he go and

  315. cut off Jesus already told him that I'm gonna go

  316. to the cross ready, and yet you are of your

  317. own strength. Tell everyone that you will never deny me,

  318. even if everyone falls away. I will never deny well

  319. and brought a sword ready. You know, okay, you failed

  320. to watch over Jesus three times, and yet in this moment,

  321. your temper got the better of you. Your temper got

  322. the battle of you, and you took out and you

  323. acted violence. You acted violently, temperamental and violent. How many

  324. of you like a temperamental and violent person in the family.

  325. It's one of the scariest thing in the family. You

  326. wan don't know. You cannot control the temper, in the ministry,

  327. in the office, anything was the one thing that everybody scared.

  328. Temper and violence cannot be reason, cannot be controlled. This

  329. is the man that Jesus so called like, not as

  330. to leader, and the man who declared has no control

  331. of temper and his violence not the quality that we

  332. all look for. Felt quite miserably. Okay. And then now

  333. there's the partner. Then the last part before he denied

  334. Jesus street time. This is where I want you guys

  335. to take a bit of observation. Here turned with me

  336. to John chapter eighteen, John chapter eighteen, Verse fifteen. And

  337. this is a very important thing. There's a very important

  338. thing I do wonders share with you guys. Here John

  339. chapter eighteen, verse fifteen, before he denied Jesus, when Jesus

  340. was arrested, this is what happened, he says. Then and

  341. Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple. You

  342. know who is this disciple? John? Okay, John and Peter

  343. follow Jesus. Now it's say it's now that disciple, which

  344. is John, was known to the High Priest and went

  345. with Jesus into the courtyard of the High Priest. Now Jesus,

  346. Now John was with Jesus. Everyone has left. But John

  347. followed Jesus. But what But John has something unique that

  348. Peter did not have. What was that he had connection?

  349. He knew the High priest or at least related to

  350. the High Priest in some way. That is why he

  351. followed them. He was following there with Jesus there. What

  352. does it mean that John had covering? He had covering? Now, Peter,

  353. he says, when you see, but you know you're but

  354. here number sixteen. But Peter stood at the door outside.

  355. Peter was not with the disciples. The rest of the

  356. disciples at home. This is like twelve minut night Radia,

  357. late night. Really, he doesn't know anyone that John knew.

  358. He was not with Jesus. He was nowhere in no

  359. man's land. What does that tell you? He had no covering,

  360. He had no covering. A lot of us want to

  361. follow Jesus, but we get ourselves out of position without

  362. any single covering, and he did it off his own strength.

  363. And covering is a very important concept. You look at

  364. Genesis Adam and if one of the first things when

  365. they seen what happened, they lost their covering and they

  366. covered themselves. If he can lives during Egypt, when Israel

  367. is Egypt, when the Tenth Plates happened, what did God

  368. asked the people to do during the tenth play? Remain

  369. inside the house under the covering of the No one

  370. is to come outside. No one. If you come out,

  371. anything that happens to you, it is on your head.

  372. Covering a very very important concept. But yet on this night,

  373. when Peter had felt almost every single test, he felt geography,

  374. he felt his sciences held biology, every single thing he failed,

  375. and the last thing, he still found himself with no covering.

  376. He was not with the disciples. He was not nor anyone.

  377. He was on his own on the outside. And you say,

  378. is that that? You know that? Then the other disciples

  379. who was known to the high priests went out and

  380. spoke to her who kept the door, and brought Peter

  381. in to get someone to speak to you there. And

  382. the servant who kept the doors set to bitter. You

  383. are not also one of this men's disciples, are you?

  384. And he said I am not. Now the servants and

  385. officers who had made a fire coat stood there, for

  386. it was cold, and they warmed themselves, and Peter stood

  387. with them and warmed himself. So what happens when you

  388. have no covering? When you try to follow Jesus out

  389. of your own strength, you try to do life out

  390. of your own strength? What happens? You realize that you're

  391. on your own, and you realize that your cold, and

  392. you draw to the one thing that has warmth, the

  393. fire made by the world, the firemen. And you will

  394. see this scene where the fire is later as well

  395. with Jesus. Interestingly, isn't it when you are on your own,

  396. falling on your own strength, the world will make fire

  397. as well? Maybe I don't know it's a job opportunity,

  398. maybe it's a relationship. Maybe it's some kind of temptation

  399. that was Ah. Maybe you can find there to find

  400. to warm yourself, to find a bit of relief and covering,

  401. you know, to gather yourself and your strength as well.

  402. But you realize that the fire it also serves to

  403. betray you. But I'm not gonna go there. It sarves

  404. to betray you because later on you will say, in

  405. the same fire where Peter was warming her, it was

  406. not sold just you know, it was just a simple

  407. servant lady, he says. The servant lady looked intently at

  408. his face and ask him, are you not this man disciple?

  409. What does it mean? He says, When you come to

  410. the fire, what happens? It's not just heat. You know,

  411. when you get around the fire, I can start to

  412. see all your faces more clearly, you know, without lighter

  413. most of the time. Remember we don't have led lights

  414. on the timer we go anywhere, I can see their faces. Hey, John, oh,

  415. what's something on? And that time is dark one? And

  416. on the twelve o'clock everybody's hood and stuff like that.

  417. Unless you carry a torch, nobody you can get away.

  418. We don't be noticed one no, no. But when you

  419. come yourself, you have so cold you have no chance

  420. but to warm by the fire. You go to that

  421. one place that offers a b of warm. But that

  422. same place of war shows your face as well, who

  423. you really really are. It's kind of ironic, shows your

  424. face because the sivil lady was reading Peter his face off,

  425. look intently, are you not this man disciple? But what

  426. was revealed was not just his face, you know, But

  427. what's revealed was what is the substance of what he

  428. is made of? Do you? Will you really follow Jesus

  429. if everyone else fails. He found out that he deny

  430. Jesus the real substance, you know, and the world will

  431. chew you up and spit you out, revealing who you are,

  432. and they will not offer to save you. You know.

  433. You see, Judas happened the same thing, you know, and

  434. Judas betrayed. Uh uh Jesus rebag of gold. I think

  435. it's about eighty eighty pieces something pieces already, it's the

  436. it's the same amum money for a slave. Okay. He

  437. when he realized that he made a mistake, he went

  438. back to the same group of people and what did

  439. they say? Did you not even to help him? They

  440. didn't want to help him? Is this this is how

  441. the world will be? You know? You think your success.

  442. I remember one thing I used to remember when I

  443. was in Audit just I think my office just like

  444. he KPMG kind of maybe they can he asking, it's

  445. just opposite that side. I remember my first year when

  446. I worked, I was slaving away that tree for country

  447. for culture of four o'clock. And I remember what my

  448. senior his name is Yo, I remember clearly. But he

  449. looks like a guy who come from Cherat and it's

  450. typical Chinese, you know, who drink like Chinese, you know,

  451. like those But it's such a cool guy. I love

  452. him and I say, it's such a cool dude. I

  453. learned so much from him. He's like, man, how are

  454. you you know? They was like, hey, well he worked

  455. so hard, but you know, but he said, way, it's hard.

  456. It's it's a trick question or so it's good but

  457. you shouldn't weakly know. But you worked so hard. But

  458. you know, but it's good for you. But know why

  459. you're here the same time now it's it's yes and no, okay,

  460. you know, after all this, you suthing all these papers. Ready,

  461. remember this, ah, remember this. The people you should invest

  462. other people who will come and visit your funeral. Okay,

  463. m I tell you you get accident, this company will

  464. not not even come you to visit you, to tell

  465. you he hit me with a reality. You know. It's like, man,

  466. you work so hard, you can do all of your life.

  467. People give you a client, but I tell you, in

  468. the next hour they'll be thinking about something else. Ready, people,

  469. remember you, that's the tub. The world will chew you

  470. up and spit you up. There's the truth or not.

  471. But so don't get too comfortable with the fireplacer. Really

  472. you know of the world. And now when you are

  473. on your own, like Peter, they will try to see

  474. you and identify as you as who you are. Chew you.

  475. I'm speitch you out. They don't care even if you

  476. hang on the tree like Judas did. You're just another story,

  477. you know what I'm saying. No, So Peter getting very

  478. greemer But you notice all these things there. But after

  479. all these things, of course we have we jumped to

  480. the scene where Jesus resurrector yeah, he appeared to all

  481. the disciples. Yeah, but what did what did Jesus to

  482. How did how would you restore a guy who has

  483. fallen so badly? And some of you you probably know

  484. what I'm talking about, Like maybe you feel like you're

  485. kind of like Peter. What do What does a bad

  486. sleaden Christian look like? Or someone who's very far from

  487. from from Christ looks like? I mean, they don't come

  488. to church. I tell you a lot of backsladien Christians

  489. are still in church. You'll be surprised, you'll be so

  490. so many bed sladian Christians are still in the church.

  491. They're just like Peter, falling far away. Ready, Okay, but

  492. you still with Jesus, You hear Jesus. You still to

  493. visit his grave. You still come for Easter service, you

  494. still come for Christmas. You're still a tent of b

  495. a thing. But you are far away. And I tell

  496. you one of the scene here he say it's here

  497. In John chapter twenty one, verse one, he says, after

  498. these things, Jesus showed himself again to the disciples at

  499. the Sea of Tiberius. And in this way he showed

  500. himself Simon, Peter, Thomas, and so and so. Okay, okay,

  501. what did he say? In verse three, Simon Peter say

  502. to them, I am going fishing. Remember this, are you say,

  503. what's wrong with fishing? What's wrong with fishing? Sounds like

  504. fishing is wrong? And then they say, if fishing is wrong,

  505. can we play pickable? You speakable wrong? You know it's

  506. going wrong. You know he's saying, like you know, there's

  507. certain things we cannot do. Meansta before Jesus, we cannot

  508. do none of this, No, no, no. Fishing is significant.

  509. You know why because it is the same vocation where

  510. Jesus called Peter from when Peter was still called Simon,

  511. not Peter. Peter wasn't name that Jesus gave him. He

  512. was still called Simon. And you were noticed in this

  513. story that Jesus, when Jesus called him, he didn't call

  514. him Peter. You know, he called him Simon. He knew.

  515. It's already telling you that Jesus knew where Peter was at. Spiritually,

  516. even though you are aware the disciples, even though you

  517. have not gon and you know hang yourself like Judas did,

  518. You're still around, but you are far away. It's like

  519. you take from step one all the way to step

  520. ten and now you're back at step one, but Jesus,

  521. and this is after Jesus show himself resurrected. So it

  522. means how you can see a miracle, you can experience somethings,

  523. but you are still back at step one now like

  524. back at one and Bryan McKnight, you're back at one

  525. again after so after three years you are still back

  526. at one. That's how far you can fall. And I'm

  527. not judging anyone because I know exactly how the feel.

  528. I'm not genting, but I'm telling you the truth so

  529. that it can speak hope. And more importantly, it will

  530. reveal to you the kind of God that we have,

  531. the kind of shepherd that we have. It doesn't matter

  532. that sheep come back to step one. The shepherd still

  533. chases after you. He calls you by the first name. See,

  534. the Peter that Jesus saved was not the strong and

  535. mighty Peter. The Peter that Jesus saved was the was

  536. the fisherman that was laboring all himself at the fish

  537. that he couldn't catch nothing. That was the Peter. That

  538. was the Simon that Jesus caught. Now Simon went back

  539. all the way to fishing again. Why fishing, Because when

  540. you have fallen so far, when everything that all the

  541. disciples knew about you was your failure, your denial, and

  542. every single thing everything you fail, you needed a comfort

  543. to where you are still in control, where you still

  544. can be a bit more successful, true or not. One

  545. of the things that when you are depressed and what

  546. you're looking forward, you pray for just a bit of

  547. success to let me know that God can still use me,

  548. or I can still have somebody use in this life,

  549. or anyone around me. That's why you see a lot

  550. of people who are depressing. Everything they don't You find

  551. them very hard to get them to do anything. They

  552. just see at home. They just watch TV and doom scrow,

  553. doom scroll because they are scared of failing because they

  554. don't see anything. What's the point, what's there's too much energy,

  555. too much energy. I'm tired. I'm tired. I'm tired. When

  556. they are just resting at home, you come saying not

  557. because they cannot see any success. They are so worried

  558. about failure and the world chewing them and spitting them out.

  559. You come saying, you know, but so it went backfishing.

  560. It's one of the things that you see when if

  561. you go and find yourself or anyone, they go back

  562. to do the things maybe they used to. You know,

  563. your vices. It's all bad smoking, go bad, drinking, going

  564. playing game, go back to the relationship, going to your friends,

  565. go into all the toxic things that you got delivered.

  566. And you went back and sometimes it's not just a fool,

  567. but just a hint of it. Ah, and you live.

  568. You're like, no, no, no, these are signs of backslaving people.

  569. I miss a bit of things like that. And then

  570. sometimes you get me saying no. But and you do that,

  571. and there's a big sign of what you do, and

  572. you realize that what all the disciples followed him, you know,

  573. and it affects you and your family. And I speak

  574. this to parents, you know, your mothers, mothers and fathers.

  575. What you do affects everyone. Your children are watching and

  576. you get affected by that, you realizing or no, it does,

  577. it does. I'm saying no, it does. And they can

  578. sense that you are holding on to a fragment of success.

  579. But you're so scared as well. You went back fishing

  580. and hold day they were fishing and they caught nothing.

  581. How depressing can that? Be. You know, you got no

  582. point of Returnalda. But it is at that point that

  583. Jesus shows himself. Even when you try to go back.

  584. Maybe you go back to your ex, go back to

  585. your old boss. But I tried to do it, and

  586. you still fail. I tell you Jesus is still there.

  587. Jesus knows exactly where you are. I tell you some

  588. of us when we Bexlider. I bested him before, and

  589. that's simpler. I tell you. You feel like, oh, I've

  590. gone so far. I tell you Jesus is exactly knows

  591. where you are. It's amazing, you know. I want to

  592. let you know today Jesus is knows exactly where you are.

  593. And the funny thing is, as they were catching, they

  594. couldn't catch. What did they do? They heard a voice

  595. they couldn't recognize it tray on the right side, and

  596. they caught so much, you know, they caught so much.

  597. I think there's a number. I think it was one hundred.

  598. They five fish. You know how much fish? Is that? No?

  599. More?

  600. As all? We don't feel we don't. I tell you,

  601. if these are all big two NASA, you were like, WHOA,

  602. don't dependie too? Now you see that then you're like, oh,

  603. pastor now you're talking about something different. Yes, there is

  604. a difference case you think like, you know it's those

  605. small ikambawaw you know all the bad you know? Ah?

  606. Not the small fish is the big one and all.

  607. It's so much he cought on he could fish. It's

  608. it's a full year salary. Now, how many of you

  609. are okay with a full year salary? You gotta start

  610. a new business ready after you deny Jesus three times

  611. and everything, oh suddenly you get a fresh start. I

  612. don't have to be the Peter who failed, who denied Jesus.

  613. I don't need to be the follow three years following,

  614. but I get a fresh start. I don't. People don't

  615. have to associate me with that. I can wrap my past,

  616. my resume as a new career, already successful, by a

  617. new boat, and do a thing. He could have a

  618. fresh style. Now, this is a very important theology. Why

  619. did Jesus do that? Because clearly he didn't catch their

  620. fish on his owner. It was because of Jesus' intervention.

  621. It's something that Peter wanted, isn't it. You see a

  622. lot of times I will we pray for God to

  623. answer our prayer, you know, and a lot. I get

  624. this most of the time, pastor, or is this a

  625. sign from heaven from God? I got this job opening.

  626. I pray for so long, but then God, I think

  627. this is God answering me. Now, but this is working

  628. for a dodgy company. Maybe the devices might not agree

  629. with me. Actually I got hired. You know, I'm not hired,

  630. but no a headhunter for a company that the product

  631. I cannot agree with that. It's like it's really like,

  632. you know, it's affecting your health. One okay, I cannot

  633. but the pay is doable or not. Many people can

  634. tell you my clary can jump. It's five figure already.

  635. I'm not bad man. In my year only I can

  636. get you know, ten five figures. That time was two

  637. thousand and eight or maybe and then got another one. Hey,

  638. what there was that time? When was the best corporate

  639. finance company? Who's hard to guess. Okay, I shouldn't have

  640. said it. Anyway, working with one of the top whichest

  641. men in the world, I know, if you work there,

  642. it's like you know, you got you know, you got

  643. your badge of honor. Ready, you can work in any

  644. finance company, any private equity ready, only that the work

  645. was today. I felt so happy, how to be shortly stare?

  646. But then I do accept it? I have to decide, man,

  647. I couldn't do it. I'm not saying I'm greater. I'm

  648. not greater. Actually, you want to accept them. I don't

  649. know where that's that say yes and no. I think

  650. it's probably a lot of my wife and God. Love

  651. my wife and God. What I always wanted to say,

  652. eth you see God answering all these things? You see God? What? What? What?

  653. What does that tell you? God will never make you,

  654. force you to choose him, But you still have to

  655. choose not everything that God lays before you. It's where

  656. you ought to go. But why does he give it

  657. to you? Why does he create the tree? I'm going

  658. evil because God will always honor us as free human

  659. beings to choose. And you can be in the boat,

  660. can be depressed, and God can say, let you catch

  661. a fish, and you very clearly now have a path

  662. where you can lead all your life. But you want

  663. to start afresh again and God allows it. But it

  664. is still not the way of God. What I'm saying,

  665. you know, and so this is a very important, but

  666. our pastor now you got Now you're making me my

  667. life very difficult because now such a good thing. Right

  668. now you're saying that I may not be able to

  669. choose it. It seems like it's God's designing all this.

  670. Maybe this is a man or a woman in my

  671. life as well. Maybe it's a job. And think, oh God,

  672. you mean I need to you need I need to

  673. struggle someone. I just got out twenty one fast and prayer.

  674. I thought, this is it? You mean another twenty one day,

  675. so fast and prayer again. You decide, you have to decide,

  676. you have to choose Beco'm saying, no, it's funnier, and

  677. what does it do? God says that if you sincerely

  678. have that fear of God, you need to go through

  679. another round of struggle, of searching your heart again. And

  680. I tell you that struggle is actually what you need,

  681. not the answer. A lot of times we want the answer,

  682. but God said, you need another struggle, and that struggle

  683. is what will make you, and that struggle is what

  684. you need in your life. Is it that fish, that

  685. blessing that you want? You see her? When Peter caught

  686. all this, he was happy, you know, and I'm drawing

  687. to a close ready, And the satin says that John said,

  688. I don't know where this is loudly, but but I

  689. believe it's more like privately to Peter. Hey, you know,

  690. we cat all lot of the fisher. I think it's Jesus.

  691. It is Jesus spoke and when Peter hot did he

  692. got she stroock in his heart and all you know,

  693. what did he do? He says, he put on his

  694. clothes and he jumped in, you know, and then he

  695. felt quite miserably, it says here. Um, anyway, I'm gonna

  696. prefact due to time. It says, as he did that right,

  697. the other boat was already on the shore or near

  698. the shore, because I think there are two boats, and

  699. then one was for the Their boat was for the way.

  700. The other boat was much nearer, and they had all

  701. the fish. Rety, what did Peter had in mind earlier?

  702. He wanted to wear and then jumped in, hoping then

  703. when he arrived on the show, then he will be

  704. ahead of all the evidence. You know what I'm saying,

  705. He will be ahead of all the evidence, and then

  706. Jesus will not see him with all the fish and

  707. in him going back fishing again. It's like my son

  708. sometimes when I come back, Hey, have you been playing

  709. the game and all the evidence? You know, sometimes you

  710. try to get ahead of the evidence. You know what

  711. I'm talking about, all that need before you don't say

  712. what I'm saying. I see you. Oh yeah, yeah, we're

  713. trying to get ahead of the evidence. I'm sorry, God

  714. bless you. It's true, isn't it. We try to get

  715. ahead of the evidence. But yeah, the evidence was already

  716. ahead ready, he says, the boat with the fish was

  717. already and Jesus said, what come and bring some of

  718. the fish as well?

  719. He got.

  720. And then when they will arrive, it says very detailed.

  721. No John details it very well. Says that when they

  722. were there, no one spoke anything. No one said the

  723. same thing, what's quiet? What's quiet? He as a leader,

  724. he wanted to get off the evidence. He wouldn't bother

  725. He wasn't bothering and took care to lead the other people.

  726. You all caught the fish. I wasn't okay. It's like

  727. you know, when you have see things in the family,

  728. and they one tried to set themselves up there he

  729. let the other burn. Really just trying to say their

  730. own skin. He was really doing that. He was acting

  731. out of his own self interest. Ready, and even in

  732. this part, you know when he caught the fish that

  733. he's still fumbling. He's still fumbling. And we got on

  734. the boat ready. And when he got on the land, really,

  735. Jesus Us bring the fish there? My men had the

  736. convenient as I draw to a close here, Jesus didn't

  737. bring it one time, you know? And why are you fishing? Yah?

  738. I tell you to believe in me. Three years I

  739. invested in you. Seeing all this and on top of

  740. the eye resurrected, I showed myself and you still went

  741. back fishing. It's it's quite a shaming, not because I

  742. after all these things, are you still prefer your old job?

  743. You know? You? You you think my management style not

  744. doesn't suit you? Is it? But Jesus didn't say like

  745. rebuke you.

  746. Now?

  747. He still give him a choice, you know. And the

  748. first time, what did Jesus say to him, Peter? Do

  749. you love me more than all of this? I was

  750. always a choice, though, do you love me more than

  751. all of this? What is all of this? I give

  752. you a new life. I'm not gonna direject you I'm

  753. gonna I can bless you, bless you according to what

  754. you want, and you can have it all. You will

  755. known assignment no longer, Peter, your rejection, your name, and

  756. your deeds will not be mentioned in the Bible and

  757. read for the next two thousand plus years by people

  758. in the world. Give me right. Nobody will know of

  759. your failures anymore. Nobody They can live on assignment, not

  760. as Peter. But you love me more than all this,

  761. this new life and smon. And Peter suddenly said, now, Lord,

  762. you know that I love you. And there is where

  763. it's the beginning. You know he never said that, Lord,

  764. I will never he said, Lord, you know you know

  765. my past, my failures, all the things I do. It's

  766. a failure. My presence is a mess. You know my

  767. I said, I'm a mess, isn't it. I messed up

  768. again in front of everybody, gloriously trying to hide and

  769. then trying to you know what a poor example are

  770. you telling? Maybe this is a time where not Peter,

  771. but maybe John. You know, John is the right leader

  772. of the church, not me. John. John didn't deny you

  773. three times, Not me, but lor you know my future?

  774. What future I have because all this world when you

  775. use your own strength to do things, and what future

  776. do you have? Because you get to a point you're

  777. so depressed and you're so weak, you just want to

  778. Like Peter, I just I can't even fish, I can't

  779. even serve God with my strength. I just choose to

  780. see in the in the in the, in the couch

  781. of my arms, and then just doom scroll what future is.

  782. See there's a lot of people in church that are

  783. back sleaden. But I want to let you know, thank

  784. God is there. He calls you again, not to you

  785. that are now. He calls you to the sigmon that

  786. was at the first place where he found you weak,

  787. broken and lost. But he still calls you. You love

  788. me more than all this. And Jesus replied him three times,

  789. is there very purposefully sequential? First one is one feed

  790. my sheep, sorry, feed my not my sheep. Very important detail.

  791. Feed my lambs, feed my lamb. It starts with the

  792. lamb the young, then ten to my sheep, then only

  793. become a sheep ten minutes to lead them from pasture

  794. to pasture to guide their behaviors. Then the third one,

  795. feed my sheep, not my lamb. So Peter is not

  796. this Peter, after going through the interview process hr g

  797. Hi interview process which he felt miserably, is asked to

  798. feed the young, to lead the older, and to feed

  799. the older. Why now, because now Peter is ready. He

  800. is ready because he's no longer leading on his own strength.

  801. He knows his past, his present, and his future doesn't matter.

  802. It is Christ who leads him. Yeah, what I'm saying, no,

  803. Christ who leads him. And it's funny and that at

  804. this moment, not before this, are that Jesus chooses to

  805. reveal Peter's faith and destiny, not earlier. You know, Jesus

  806. reveals to Peter I said that now you go wherever

  807. you want, but when you are older, someone else will

  808. lead you and you to places where you do not

  809. want to go. Means that he's going to be persecuted

  810. and hung upside down, you know what I'm saying. You know,

  811. but the Peter before was the man on his own,

  812. thinking he can lead the ministry and do all this thing,

  813. was not ready to receive that. You know what I'm saying,

  814. God knows is exactly what we can bear now. And

  815. sometimes you said, God, I just need to know no, no, no.

  816. God knows exactly you cannot take it, and sometimes if

  817. he gives it to you right now, he knows that

  818. it will undo you. But he waits until that moment

  819. when you are completely not clinging to anything, you're completely helpless,

  820. You are clinging to God and you are fully abiding

  821. in Him now and the words that says best witness

  822. you are ready. So I want to let you know

  823. that God doesn't those of you you're coming back, doesn't

  824. need you attend. He needs you at one exactly where

  825. you are to come back to God. Amen.
