  1. You're listening to a message to go from ex Church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your tea.

  3. I'll start this morning by by telling a short story

  4. which relates to what I'm about to share from the

  5. Word of God today. So, so last last week, I

  6. was I was planning to go exercise for a workout

  7. right in the gym. So there's a small little gym

  8. in my housing area. And as I as I walked

  9. in the doors of the gym, first of all, I

  10. felt it was really hot, right, kind of like how

  11. this holidays. I mean, you're sitting right in front as

  12. I felt like it was really hot and uh and

  13. and I noticed like three three people sitting.

  14. On the floor.

  15. They look like they were there to service the air

  16. conditioning system, right. And then there was another guy on

  17. the treadmill working on He was like sweating profusely because

  18. he was really hot. And I was like, this is

  19. going to be an uncomfortable, uncomfortable workout for me this afternoon.

  20. Uh So, so as I walk in the room, there

  21. were ladders here.

  22. And then I presume that this three men were there

  23. to service the aircn and therefore the acorn wasn't working, right,

  24. I just presumed that, assumed that, and I then proceeded

  25. to start my exercise, my workout as they call it. Yeah,

  26. And I was thinking, like, oh man, it's going to

  27. be a really uncomfortable thirty to forty minutes. I was

  28. going to do Lake's workout, which I normally was sweat

  29. a lot and like not looking forward to it, and

  30. so I just just proceeded to my first exercise, right uh.

  31. And then I thought after that, like, canobila this not right?

  32. I don't want to spend the next half an hour

  33. in like a hot and humid environment when there's like

  34. acorn in the room. So so I just went and

  35. asked the tree workers that morning, like excuse me, can

  36. I turn on the acorn?

  37. Right?

  38. And then they said, yes, you can't turn on the

  39. air con in Bahasa And I was like okay. And

  40. then the other guy working on the tram was like

  41. he just turned and said turn on all the air cones.

  42. I'm like, yeah, okay, it's that proceeded to turn on

  43. all four air cons in the room, and the whole

  44. time I was thinking, like everyone was in the room,

  45. it was so uncomfortable.

  46. The air cons were there ready to be used.

  47. The guy that was working on was like sweating profusely,

  48. and he probably wanted the aircon to be on. So

  49. just that all four of us in the room or

  50. five of us were like thinking, or maybe the ECT

  51. is not working that I shouldn't on. Then the tree

  52. workers there, we're thinking maybe like oh am, I love

  53. to turn on the accon here and unresting, and they're

  54. like fasting, you know.

  55. Uh so when to throw on the econ?

  56. Right?

  57. When I throw a econ?

  58. And and my my point is this, there are times

  59. in our life right where all the power is there,

  60. the resources is there available in the room to change

  61. the atmosphere of our life, to change the direction of

  62. our life.

  63. Right, it's there, just that no one asked, No one asked, and.

  64. And what if God says this, right, you know, in

  65. we just go just jump to the first verse this

  66. morning James, chapter four. Yet you don't have what you

  67. want because you don't ask God for it. Yeah, you

  68. don't have what you want because you don't ask God

  69. for it. And even when you ask, you don't get

  70. it because your motives are all wrong. You want only

  71. what will give you pleasure. Right, So that afternoon, in

  72. that small little room for five grown men sitting around

  73. in hot humidity is suffering and the only difference is

  74. just someone just said, excuse me, excuse me, sir, Can

  75. I turn on the air coord please? And that completely

  76. changed the hour after that. Right, So today we're gonna

  77. talk about prayer. And my title for today is this

  78. power available. There is power available. There is power available

  79. in our lives. That's power available as sons and daughters

  80. of God. There is supernatural supernatural works waiting on the

  81. other side of prayer. There is breakthrough, there is healing,

  82. there is restoration, there is forgiveness on the other side

  83. of prayer and fasting. And sometimes we fall under the

  84. category of just living in a situation where God did

  85. not intend us for us to be in with the

  86. only step that's a hit for us to overcome, and

  87. that step is prayer, prayer, prayer and fast thing.

  88. So we look into prayer this morning.

  89. It's getting a bit quiet here, I don't know why.

  90. Turn on the aircons where?

  91. And we look into the word of God in just

  92. very simple, very very simple verses of very straightforward verses

  93. of what the Bible teaches us about prayer and fasting.

  94. As we approach these twenty one days of prayer and fasting.

  95. So I read one verse earlier James chapter four, which

  96. you can you have seen, and then you know I

  97. I want to say that prayer is often the vehicle

  98. that drives God's power in our lives. Prayer is often

  99. that vehicle that drives God's power in our lives. Prayer

  100. is often the means by which God's will is done.

  101. We pray just now God's will be done, His kingdom

  102. Come ya, will be done on earth as it is

  103. in heaven. That's what Jesus taught us to pray right

  104. in the model prayer, the Lord's prayer. Prayer is the

  105. means by which God's will is done. So the question

  106. is today this morning, like have I been praying?

  107. Have I been praying enough? Right? When should I pray?

  108. How do I pray? And those are just.

  109. Some some questions which I ask myself. Also is like

  110. do I pray enough? I think the answer, probably for

  111. all of us, is like, actually, we could be praying more,

  112. We could be praying more. So before we go into that,

  113. let me show you a let me sure a slight.

  114. The next light? Is it this one?

  115. No?

  116. Before this? The you turn after this. Okay, I don't

  117. know why it's not there.

  118. But uh so okay, so you turn is coming up.

  119. Actually had a side of about you turn. Okay, we

  120. are going through praying fasting this morning.

  121. Right. So in ex church we call it you turn.

  122. You know what's a EU turn? Right?

  123. So if you're alsie, you call it ui. All the

  124. blokes in here, a U turn is when you're going

  125. one direction but you are going the wrong direction and

  126. you need to make a U turn right, So we

  127. call it uten.

  128. Why do we call it uten?

  129. It's a time where we intentionally set aside time to reflect,

  130. examine ourselves, repent, and turn back to God in any

  131. areas of our lives. That's why we call it uten. Right,

  132. So let's just stop here all.

  133. Before I go into praying. Okay, uh this morning?

  134. And they shod a really good devotion in our leader's

  135. devotion and he says something very interesting like if you

  136. go to Australia, they ask you, they ask you, how

  137. are you how?

  138. How do you say it? How are you made right?

  139. How do they do it? How's it going? Mate? And they

  140. say that as a form of greed.

  141. Thing like like how we say hello, have you eaten right,

  142. or in Malaysia we normally say that right, and and

  143. then and then Australia when they say how are you made,

  144. they don't they don't intend to hear how are you doing?

  145. They just say. It's a form of a greeting.

  146. So they will say how are you mate, and then

  147. you want to respond, They turn around, They're like, I

  148. was about to tell you how my day you went,

  149. what I ate for breakfast?

  150. Why you turn your back at me?

  151. And and I I think this is why we need

  152. to use ten right, because sometimes our back are.

  153. Turned against God.

  154. Maybe not completely, but some parts of your life or

  155. my life has my back turned against God. So how

  156. can God communicate or connect with me when my back

  157. is facing him?

  158. Right?

  159. When I'm when I'm like disciplining my kids, which happens

  160. more often than not nowadays, they will sometimes I just

  161. look away or they will slowly inch some like scolding them. Right,

  162. I'm not schooling, I'm disciplining them. I'm telling them the

  163. reason why they did wrong and how they can do better,

  164. and what the word of God says in this situation

  165. in his life.

  166. Then they'll be like looking at me and you look down.

  167. Then they'll like start to like fiddle with something on

  168. the path.

  169. Then they're like turning away.

  170. Then I'll say, you don't want the three names of

  171. my boys leave By Michael Jaden, Look at me, turn

  172. look into my eyes.

  173. I'm talking to you. I'm not done talking to you.

  174. And then they connectin and then they're like theory. The

  175. thing is if if you have your back turn against

  176. someone that you're trying to communicate with, is very hard

  177. to communicate, right, So if you have fighting with your

  178. spouse and then they're like they turn on the bait

  179. to the other side, it's communication, right. I don't want

  180. to listen to you now. Now it's not the time

  181. to communicate or connect. So can I say that in

  182. the next twenty one days, we don't do that to God.

  183. Let us you turn back face this creator, our God,

  184. face Jesus, every part of our lives right, look him

  185. in the eyes. Pay attention to what he's saying. Pay

  186. attention to what the Holy Spirit is saying. With the

  187. intention of what someone Tree nine says to to examine

  188. our hearts, right to search me or God? Is there

  189. any anxious thoughts? Is there anything in my life that

  190. makes you offended pointed out to me, lead me along

  191. the path everlasting. So that is what you turn is

  192. from yesterday until Good Friday, Right, that is our focus.

  193. We look at our lives.

  194. Maybe God is speaking to you about specific habit that

  195. you have that doesn't please him. You know that that

  196. doesn't see it right away of God. But I just

  197. turned that part away from God, like maybe he he

  198. won't see that, right. Or maybe it's a lack of prayer.

  199. Maybe it's anger. Yeah, your emotional back turn against God.

  200. Maybe you need healing.

  201. Right, even that healing or that sickness needs to bow

  202. in the name of Jesus and it will not let

  203. its back be turned against the savior of the world.

  204. You will come under the sovereign power of Jesus. So

  205. that's what eton is. If you haven't started yesterday, Twoday's

  206. a good day to start or tomorrow. We want to pray,

  207. we want to fast, We want to turn our eyes

  208. back to Jesus, look him in the eyes, and let

  209. him transformers over the next twenty one days.

  210. Amen. Okay, So oh it's there.

  211. Yeah, yeah, okay, So that's the Slash show on the

  212. show just about U turn.

  213. As we go on to the Word of God this morning. Okay.

  214. So before I start about prayer and fast thing, let

  215. me do a quick definition of just what it is

  216. to me. Okay, So what prayer is and what fast

  217. thing is? So prayer to me, it's very simple. It's

  218. connecting with God.

  219. Okay.

  220. Prayer is connecting with God. You know when the disciples

  221. ask Jesus how to pray. There's also the model pray

  222. that we have in Matthew chapter six, the Lord prayer.

  223. But essentially prayer is connecting with God. So it could

  224. be direct conversational conversations you have with with Jesus, communion

  225. that is very intimate connection you have with with Him,

  226. between us and God. So in some models you can

  227. see the word acts x adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplications. Right,

  228. So that's the thing that you want to do when

  229. you're actually praying. Can actually just pray the model prayer

  230. like I often do that almost every day. Just pray

  231. to the model prayer and as you go through you're

  232. following the model of what Jesus gave us. But essentially

  233. prayer is just connecting with God.

  234. Okay. And fast thing fast thing is giving up food.

  235. So there's food there involved or other things can be

  236. social media can be Netflix, can be sugar or something

  237. you give up something to focus on seeking God, thrue prayer. Okay,

  238. so we went through this in homes. Won't go through

  239. in detail, but not just to start. Let's set these

  240. definitions in place. So this morning, I'm talking about the

  241. availability of power that is in our lives for all

  242. of us through Jesus, right, and how do we tap

  243. into that power of prayer?

  244. How do we tap into that power of prayer? I

  245. have three easy.

  246. Easy points this morning, which is A, B and C

  247. for tapping onto the power of prayer today. Okay, Uh,

  248. so let's get into it.

  249. The first A.

  250. Is always always always. It means continuously, continually, constantly without seizing.

  251. So we know in first Tessalonians five seventeen, or we

  252. can actually just go into the verse right now one

  253. Testonians five seventeen, it says this. It has two of

  254. the shortest versus in a Bible, alongside Jesus webb, which

  255. is rejoice always, pray, continually, give thanks in all circumstances,

  256. for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

  257. So you're gonna memorize two verses today rejoice always. Number two,

  258. pray continually. Some versions say pray without ceasing, give thanks

  259. in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you,

  260. for you in Christ Jesus.

  261. Wow.

  262. So the first point is always pray, continually, pray without ceasing.

  263. What does that mean. Let's go to another verse verse.

  264. We can go to Ephesients chapter six. So these verses

  265. are after the encouragement by the armor of God. Right,

  266. we see this, and pray in the spirit on all

  267. occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.

  268. Pray in the spirit on.

  269. All occasions, always, with all kinds of prayers and requests.

  270. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on

  271. praying for all the Lord's people.

  272. Right.

  273. So we see in the Bible there's this encouragement to us,

  274. to all of us, that we must pray continually, we

  275. must pray without ceasing, we must pray always. Okay, how

  276. do we do that? How do we do that? Eight

  277. hours in the day. I'm like sleeping, can be praying

  278. when I'm sleeping, right, Or maybe you know someone that

  279. talks a lot ah NonStop. The guys always talking can

  280. be a bit annoying. How do we pray always? I

  281. will I will suggest that that as a foundation of prayer.

  282. Right, It's about relationship.

  283. Okay, So this concept of praying constantly, praying without seizing,

  284. praying continuously, praying always is a reflection of our relationship

  285. with Christ.

  286. Okay.

  287. You know in John chapter fifteen, the verse about being fruitful, Right,

  288. what does he say, abide in me? If you abide

  289. in me and my words abide in you, you will

  290. ask what you desire and it shall be done for you.

  291. So that illustration that Jesus gave was we are the

  292. branch and he's the true vine.

  293. Right.

  294. Can you imagine like a branch connected to a main tree,

  295. and the branch.

  296. Is constantly connected.

  297. We remove the branch, then the branch will eventually die, right,

  298. So the branch is always connected, always abiding, always being there,

  299. constantly being connected to the true vine. And that's what

  300. Jesus was trying to tell us, right when we yes,

  301. pray is very important. But the foundation of pray actually

  302. stems from our relationship with Christ.

  303. Right.

  304. And when you're in relationship with someone, there's a constant connection,

  305. there's a constant uh, there's a constant connection with them, right,

  306. there's a constant understanding of I know, okay, I know

  307. what Laura likes, right, I know that she has the preferences.

  308. I know what she's doing today.

  309. I know that she's serving on ex kids or on

  310. a Monday, she'll be here.

  311. I mean, not be.

  312. Communicating with her constantly, but I am constantly connected to her, right,

  313. especially when we're going through good times, right, and when

  314. there's like valleys, then maybe the connection a bit a

  315. bit fuzzy, a bit fuzzy which happen with us and

  316. God let me walk with him, right. But our role

  317. is to always try and maintain the best possible connection

  318. with Christ.

  319. Right.

  320. So this this comes from a few things which I

  321. would like to propose to you this morning. But understand

  322. that the foundation of prayer, and when when the Bible

  323. teaches us in the First Thessalonians five seventeen to pray continuously,

  324. to pray without seizing what the Bible is talking about,

  325. it starts with our relationship with Christ. Right, Because when

  326. we understand who God is, when we're connected to him,

  327. we can also pray according to his to his will.

  328. We can pray according to his word. And then what

  329. you ask you will receive. Okay, So that what that

  330. that is what A stands for always? And but how

  331. do I do that practically? And how do I motivate

  332. myself to do that practically? The first thing is Jesus

  333. tells us to have child like faith, right, to have

  334. child like faith. And if if you've ever been with

  335. a child before, like now we have. We have one child, Jaden,

  336. which is uh, which is for this year, turning for

  337. this year.

  338. And and the thing about Jaden, right is every morning.

  339. When he wakes up, he'll be like, you know, want

  340. the first words to come out with his mouth, where's mommy? Yeah,

  341. where's mommy? Where's And he's still in the same room

  342. as us, so so sometimes when Laura's not there in

  343. the morning, then he like, Mommy's not.

  344. Here, where's mommy? Daddy? Wake up? Where's mommy? Uh? This

  345. morning was quite funny.

  346. I woke up early, you're still dark that I wanted

  347. to creep out the room to go downstairs and prepare.

  348. Then I heard a little voice say, dirty Diddy, Uh,

  349. where are you going? I want dirty? I'm like, oh man,

  350. this is my time. I dropped my laptop and I went.

  351. Then I hug.

  352. Him, but yeah, but there's this there's child like faith

  353. is is knowing that you cannot survive without the parent, right,

  354. It's not being childish.

  355. Childish is like, oh, don't get what I want. That

  356. like mutual at tantrum.

  357. But child like faith is this complete dependency on the parent,

  358. and the older you get, right, the less you have

  359. of that, which is kind of normal.

  360. I don't go to my dad, I don't wacome in

  361. the morning. Is it, oh my mom, mommy, where are you? Know?

  362. If you just grow up in maturity as we grow.

  363. But the faith should still be childlike. The faith should

  364. still be like what Jayden goes through in the morning.

  365. When I wake up in the morning, I'm not going

  366. to think like, man, this is my day. I do

  367. what I want, I go where I want, I say

  368. what I want. But the posture I have in my

  369. faith in the morning is like God, I need you.

  370. Where are you? God? I need you in my life today?

  371. And yes, you have given me the gifts the abilities

  372. to provide for myself and my family, but I still

  373. need you. And we pull ourselves into that position and

  374. posture of being a child of God in needing him.

  375. It's very important in prayer. It's very important in prayer.

  376. So how do we pray continuously? How do we pray always?

  377. Need to remember to have childlike faith okay, which means

  378. having total reliance on God.

  379. Okay.

  380. Praying continually shows our dependence on God always. Praying continually

  381. shows our dependence on God always. We need God continually.

  382. We should not become arrogant and think we can live

  383. life independent of God. We should not become arrogant and

  384. think we can live life independent of God, because what

  385. I find is every time I reach that place, God

  386. will start to pull me back and show me like

  387. it is not the right direction to go. You know,

  388. you need to rely on me. That's what the Israelites

  389. went through right when they were when they receive breakthrough

  390. out of Pharaoh and and the of that people's group

  391. Pharaoh and the Egyptians right and they were, they were

  392. taught by God to rely on on on God every

  393. day the manner every day there was the cloud by

  394. day and the pillar of fire by night on a

  395. daily basis, so that they would train to rely on

  396. God on a daily basis.

  397. Childlike faith. That's how we pray continuously.

  398. Number two is we need to remember that God is

  399. the center of every.

  400. Part of my life. Okay.

  401. God is the center of every part of my life,

  402. and that's why I pray continually. So there is no

  403. compartment in my life without God. There is no compartment

  404. in my life without God, and the awareness of God's

  405. presence in my life at every moment makes me live

  406. my life to the fullness.

  407. As a child of God.

  408. He must be part of every major decision in our lives,

  409. and that's why we pray. God must be part of

  410. every major decision in our lives. So there's no part

  411. of my life with should be protected for myself. But

  412. to pray continually, I need to first of all, have

  413. childlike faith in my total dependence on Him and knowing

  414. that every part of my life is visible to Him

  415. and I want Him to be part of it.

  416. Okay, So how do we tap onto the power of prayer?

  417. First point A always be breakthrough. Breakthrough and this is

  418. where we really need prayer.

  419. Right, So, if you're in a situation of hopelessness, or

  420. when you need victory, you need healing for a relationship,

  421. or I feel like you're stuck. You know, sometimes in

  422. life you feel like we're stuck. That is when we

  423. need to tap onto the power of prayer and ask

  424. God for a breakthrough.

  425. So, do you believe that our God is a.

  426. God of breakthrough, a God of miracles, a God that

  427. can make away? Do you believe that our God Jesus

  428. is a God of breakthrough, a God of miracles, and

  429. a God that can make away in your lives? We

  430. need to first believe that. If yes, then we go

  431. to him in prayer. In there's two scriptures here. Let's

  432. go through Mark chapter nine. Mark chapter nine, verse twenty nine.

  433. It says this. If you remember this story in context,

  434. it was about a dad who wanted to He brought

  435. his son to the disciples of Jesus, and he had

  436. a demon in him right, and he couldn't talk, he

  437. was mute, and the disciples couldn't cast out the demon,

  438. and so.

  439. And so they brought him.

  440. To Jesus and Jesus prayed over him, cast out the demon,

  441. and the boy was healed immediately. And the disciples then

  442. asked Jesus, why couldn't we cast out the demon? And

  443. Jesus responded with this, So you say to them, this

  444. kind can come out by nothing but by prayer and fasting. Right,

  445. this kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.

  446. Prayer and fasting was the answer to this boy's breakthrough. Okay,

  447. so just partner there for a while. We go to

  448. the next verse, verse Matthew seven to seven. This is

  449. the amplified version, and I like them five version because

  450. he says, ask and keep on asking, and you will

  451. be given to you. Seek and keep on seeking, and

  452. you will find Knock and keep on knocking, and the

  453. door will be open to you. There is breakthrough on

  454. the other side of prayer and fasting. So let's go

  455. through Mark nine.

  456. First.

  457. Why did Jesus say this kind can come out by

  458. nothing but prayer and fasting?

  459. Right? Indeed, the boy had break through.

  460. The boy received this answer, the boy's life was completely changed.

  461. Jesus also said.

  462. That there was unbelief and faith as well, and that

  463. that in fact, asked Jesus to help him believe.

  464. So why is this verse here?

  465. You know, it isn't that prayer and fast thing makes

  466. us small worthy to cast out demons. So it's not

  467. it's not that prayer and fast thing makes us more worthy,

  468. because I didn't say this earlier. But remember that prayer

  469. and fast thing is not a transactional action. Right, What

  470. a trans actual action is God, I do this for you,

  471. and you do that for me. Right, Prayer and fasting

  472. is not that as we started in point A. Prayer

  473. and fasting is it starts from a relationship we have

  474. in Christ, in Christ, abiding in him and asking along

  475. his will. So but it is that prayer and fasting

  476. draws us closer to the heart of God, and they

  477. put us more in line with His power. So is

  478. that again an expression of our total dependence on Him?

  479. Because if you think about it, right, the thing about fasting,

  480. especially fast thing is you cannot fast for one minute?

  481. Right?

  482. You can pray for one minute, lah, can't I pray

  483. for healing upon my brother, and in the name of Jesus,

  484. he'd be made well.

  485. He will be.

  486. Completely healed according to the word of God, prayer and faith.

  487. But you cannot fast for one minute? Right? Fast thing

  488. is a time period.

  489. Lord I set aside three days too fast from food

  490. and pray to seek you a Lord, I said aside

  491. the next twenty one days too fast and pray. So

  492. the thing about fast thing that this time period. And

  493. why is there a time period? Because it takes time

  494. to change our hearts. It takes time for us to

  495. be transformed and renewed in our mind to.

  496. Be aligned to God's word. Right.

  497. And for this bunch of people with Jesus, they needed that.

  498. They needed to not just speak that the demon be

  499. gone from the boy, but they needed to be aligned

  500. to God's word to fall in place in their faith,

  501. to have their unbelieved drop away, to believe in with

  502. all their hearts that Christ can deliver. And for some

  503. of our breakthroughs, we need that, right. So how do

  504. we pray for breakthroughs? Number one, we need to be

  505. persistent because it sometimes takes time, right. And number two,

  506. we need to be very specific.

  507. In what we pray.

  508. A few recently I got taught me this about being

  509. specific and having faith when I was having a work situation, right.

  510. And the bottom line is, in this situation, I I

  511. couldn't get approvals for one of our projects by by authorities,

  512. local authorities, and uh, it was a very long process. Right,

  513. So we pray, we pray, I mean even now been

  514. very upfront about my faith with my team as well.

  515. Uh, And and we.

  516. Just try our bass and we pray. And we were

  517. reaching a certain point where like it was just too

  518. long and like I didn't know what to do, and

  519. and in fact, for that particular situation, I actually call

  520. out the local authority to ask for this for the

  521. status of our project, and they just told me negative

  522. news again right on the phone.

  523. So it was like even more down right.

  524. And I woke up one morning in the same week,

  525. and I felt the Holy Spirit tell me to pray,

  526. pray again for this situation. And I'm thinking in my head,

  527. like why.

  528. I already got the bad news.

  529. Really, you know, you might receive bad news about you know,

  530. I don't know whatever situation you're in. But I just

  531. obeyed and I prayed and I believe and I had faith,

  532. and and on the way to a meeting, I felt

  533. Holy Spirit say, okay, just just go and check that

  534. morning itself. And to be honest, I was kind of

  535. like putting it off because I ready know it's gonna

  536. be bad news, Like I just let it be bad

  537. news for another day. I don't want to go and

  538. talk to the officer that day. But that morning I prayed.

  539. That morning I went in obedience, and that morning I

  540. also receive a breakthrough, like immediately, and I don't know why.

  541. I already asked them on the phone, like it's bad news.

  542. How did the bad news become good news?

  543. I don't know.

  544. All I know is I prayed, I believed, and God

  545. did something for me that was miraculous in my life.

  546. So when we pray, we need to be persistent. Recently

  547. or so as a family, we we especially Laura's been

  548. going through something very difficult, very difficult and uh and

  549. because we I feel it is an attack from the enemy, right,

  550. an attack from the enemy and from the powers of

  551. darkness of people who are being evil in her life.

  552. Right.

  553. So just not going through details, but you can think

  554. about it as that. So when I describe that to you,

  555. it's like I don't even know what to pray for

  556. because someone is someone is uh not doing right in

  557. her life and and I don't even know who, and

  558. I don't know how. So we pray, we pray, and

  559. I've been praying, uh And after a while it seems

  560. to be okay. Then I stopped praying, right, and then

  561. it came back again, that oppression, that attack from the enemy.

  562. And one day I was running and the whole spirit

  563. reminded me.

  564. Like, like some things you just have to keep praying,

  565. and the only way, the only thing that can move

  566. is when God moves in the spirit. So I need

  567. to be diligion and persistent in my prayer, asking God

  568. for protection over our family, speaking against the work of

  569. the enemy upon our lives, speaking the word of God

  570. in our lives, speaking speaking that in darkness God's light

  571. will shine right. Keep bringing this over my family, over

  572. my life, and the life of the people around me,

  573. because in many situations, it really takes persistent, specific prayer

  574. over a time for us to be aligned in our

  575. faith to what God is doing before we receive the breakthrough.

  576. So again Matthew seven seven asks, keep on asking and

  577. it will be given to you. Seek, Keep on seeking

  578. and you will find knock. Keep on knocking and the

  579. door will be open to you. A always be breakthrough.

  580. And see is the word crisis, crisis, So this is

  581. often where we pray the most. Right when there's moments

  582. of crisis, when there's a tight deadline, when you have anxiety,

  583. when you have worry, then we pray. And yes, that

  584. is correct. We need to come to God in moments

  585. of crisis. Even even Jesus before he went on the

  586. cross in the Garden of get seventy.

  587. He also went aside to pray. Right.

  588. He prays so profusely until you know there was sweat,

  589. blood and tears. So in moments of crisis, we need

  590. to pray. When the whole world is falling apart, we

  591. need to pray. When things seem to be against we

  592. need to pray. James Chapter five says this, James Chapter five,

  593. verse thirteen, is anyone among you suffering? Is anyone among

  594. you suffering? Are you that person today? Let him pray?

  595. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms? Is anyone among

  596. you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church,

  597. and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil

  598. in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of

  599. faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise

  600. him up. And if he has committed since he will

  601. be forgiven. So in times of crisis, is in the

  602. times where we totally need to come to Jesus in prayer.

  603. And how do we do that? How do we do that?

  604. According to God's word Philippians four, verse six.

  605. Always know this.

  606. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication,

  607. with thanksgiving. Let your requests be made known to God

  608. and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding. Well, God,

  609. your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. In times of crisis,

  610. when you feel like you feel so depressed and anxious,

  611. we need to go to Jesus. Push away anxiety. Let

  612. the peace of God that surpasses understanding God our hearts

  613. and minds, true Christ Jesus. That's the first step, and

  614. shortly can get the band to also come up, the

  615. ministring team.

  616. In times of crisis.

  617. You know, last night God reminded me about this, this

  618. story in a Bible when Jesus asked the disciples to

  619. get into a vote, right, and then he proceeds to

  620. take a nap in the boat. He went and sleep,

  621. and then you know what happened, Right, the winds and

  622. the waves came. There was a great storm. There was

  623. a great storm that was shaking the whole boat. And

  624. Jesus was still asleep. But the disciples were panicking. They

  625. they said this it's not in the slides, but you

  626. see look chapter eight. If you're taking notes, look chapter eight,

  627. verses twenty two to twenty five. The disciples went and

  628. walked him up, saying, Master, Master, we were going down.

  629. We're going to drown. And he got up and rebuilt

  630. the wind and the raging waters, and the storm subsided

  631. and all was come. Then he asked the disciples, where's

  632. your faith? Where's your faith? In fact, before that, the

  633. disciples declared, like, oh man, we're going to die, going

  634. to drown. This is not good. But do you know

  635. that all along Jesus was in the boat. All along,

  636. Jesus was in the boat. So remember the story I

  637. told you about earlier. Five men in the room, all sweating. Proviously,

  638. all along, the air cons were there in the room.

  639. The power was connected. The only difference is someone had

  640. the faith. Do we say, excuse me, sir, can I

  641. turn on the air cons today? Right?

  642. Thank God?

  643. The disciples said, excuse me, Jesus, can you calm the

  644. storms this morning? God, you are in the boat. I

  645. need you to come the storms this morning. I'm going

  646. through a crisis. The last light says this, come to Jesus,

  647. for he is in the boat with you. So you

  648. may be going through a crisis in your life this season,

  649. maybe a time where anxiety is high, uncertainty is constantly there,

  650. worry wakes you up in the middle of the night.

  651. But I declare that Jesus is in a boat with

  652. you in this season and to overcome this crisis. To

  653. receive our breakthrough, we need to have faith in asking him. Man,

  654. can we just take the next couple of minutes to

  655. respond to Jesus, to.

  656. Commit our lives again to him.

  657. If you can close your eyes, if you can bow

  658. your heads, you were able to just in the next

  659. few minutes, quiet down your thoughts and minds and focus

  660. your hearts on Jesus, Jesus being in the boat with you,

  661. Jesus being that ever present help in time of need.

  662. Because when the storms were raging, when the winds were blowing,

  663. when the boat was being shaken, even then, he was

  664. still there in the boat, and as the disciples came

  665. to him, all it took was that word from Jesus

  666. to rebuild the winds, to command the way.

  667. Yes, and the storm ceased.
