You're listening to a message to go from acts church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
If you can turn with me to Revelations chapter three.
-
I'm gonna be covering one of the churches and it's
-
actually the last church.
-
It's called the Lukewarm Church. Since we're talking.
-
About revival, right, Oh look warman revival. Who doesn't like
-
that topic?
-
Man?
-
Okay, So but before we go and read the passage here,
-
I'm going to give some introduction and a bit of
-
our background about this church. And so when you read it,
-
you won't just read it as a passage from the Bible.
-
Now you begin to read it with a bit of understanding,
-
with a bit of context, and after explaining it.
-
So when you read you start to have an understanding.
-
Oh, this is what maybe our Lord Jesus is trying
-
to refer to as well. But before I read, I
-
want to let you know that God is the God
-
of big and he's also the God of the small.
-
Said that God is the God or the general God
-
is also the god of the specific as well. You
-
get what I'm saying. No, you're not just a Malaysian,
-
you are your individual. God has a general calling God
-
also has a personal calling.
-
You know what I'm saying. A lot of people just
-
live as a Malaysian.
-
There's a Malaysian government, but they don't live as if
-
there is a father in the house.
-
You know what I mean.
-
Right, They just do their own things, you know, they
-
just do the own thing. But I want to let
-
you know that God is very specific and as you
-
read through and as explained you read, you realize that
-
God is very actively and keenly what they call it,
-
involved in your own personal life, whatever that you're going through.
-
Okay. So this city is called the city of Laodica.
-
Okay, at least I pronounced it called Laodica Okay, leo
-
dca Okay, sounds very great.
-
Okay.
-
So now this city was is actually quite a young
-
and new city Okay by the age, only founded about
-
two hundred and fifty years before Christ two hundred fift
-
years considered quite young.
-
Okay.
-
A very rich city, Okay, a very rich city. You know,
-
for a few reasons I'm going to share very briefly
-
with you guys. One of the main reasons why is
-
because they are very strategic. They are at the center
-
of a lot of what they call it important trade
-
roots and sow their function as a very important commercial
-
hub as well.
-
And because they are so rich.
-
And one of the ways that the cities, you know,
-
if you are very successful and you're rich, you flaunt
-
or you make a name among all the people in
-
the region or from overseas as well, is that you
-
display through buildings and architectures as well. There is why
-
you see Rome is very nicely decorated, you know, with
-
a very grand called the coliseums and pthaters temples and
-
they also had that as well. Okay, very very nice building, stadiums, marketplaces,
-
and they are one of the richest cities, you know,
-
top five at least in Asia minor.
-
Now.
-
Three things that actually made them very rich, Okay. One
-
I mentioned before is that they are very strategic and
-
they are also a center of commerce. When I say
-
they are center of commerce, they not just a they've
-
got a few banks, you know, not that just one
-
of those sections fifteen, or got mainbank, public bank, hold
-
on bank, whatever bank. You know, you go there, not
-
just there or not. They are so rich, Okay, they
-
have their own goal. Okay, they are so rich that
-
when they had an earthquake, you know, Normally when cities
-
have been earthquake, they will go and ask, you know,
-
a can you federal government, can you please go and help?
-
You know?
-
Recently, there's a fire in in San Born. There, okay,
-
how many of you saw about two weeks ago there
-
was a fire.
-
I think how many houses are? Almost a thousand?
-
About a thousand houses are It looks like the whole
-
entire map, but looks like a cigarette bunging. Some of
-
you look at me. I don't know why it's happening. Okay,
-
you know, oh because they are so packed.
-
I don't know.
-
One fire just swip through and oh it's just looked
-
like secret oh or so bad burn everything. And normally
-
when you have an extreme natural disaster, you go and
-
ask a better government, can you give us an a okay,
-
So this cityo d year they got struck by earthquake,
-
and they were so rich they didn't need assistance from
-
the government.
-
It's okay, we can help ourselves.
-
It's like when you get sicker, you don't need to
-
apply for insurance right now. It's okay, I you know,
-
I just I just touch and go to you. They're rich,
-
you know what I mean, they don't need to call
-
any one one, and now they we can't help ourselves.
-
It's so hey, you know, that's that's how their flegs lie.
-
You know that they were so rich because of that.
-
The second thing they were very known for as well,
-
they had this very special black wool, you know, that
-
they had because of their what they call it livestock,
-
especially their ship. There's black color, natural black color, very fine,
-
very nice to feel, and it's considered a luxury item
-
as well, so people come and flock to buy the wolves.
-
They have a lot of products as well. From there
-
you can see Bosace, you know, Gucci, Dashade as well,
-
all the famous names. And the people at that time
-
got taste one okay, okay, no, they got they got
-
taste for the finer things in life or so there's
-
the truth is the truth.
-
They have a taste for the finer things in life.
-
They really know how to Okay, not all of them,
-
some of them know how to enjoy life and now, okay,
-
so they were very so because of that, they were
-
known for it as well. And the third thing they
-
were very known for was actually medicinal products.
-
Okay.
-
One of the things they were known for is actually
-
called the eye medicine, or it's actually a form of
-
a powder.
-
They call it the Few region powder.
-
You can go and check it out, but basically it's
-
like an ointment and a south and sometimes a powder
-
form that people will mix it up and then apply
-
it on their eyes. It's found through some kind of
-
set found on localized the area, and people from everywhere
-
will come and actually buy from them as well, and
-
so you know they will rich. They got style and
-
they can heal as well. Man, they got everything they need. Man, okay,
-
they got everything they need. And so now it's a
-
good time to read what they call it the verses,
-
and you start to realize that, hey, although Jesus is
-
not in their era, and so that when God speaks
-
to them, God speaks to them in the context of
-
their living. And this is a very important teaching, you
-
know why, because a lot of things that happen in
-
your life are not coincidences.
-
You know that God might not just speak generally.
-
That God can speak specifically through you through events in
-
your life and whether you are really awake spiritually to
-
hear and to discern maybe God has been speaking you
-
through people, through your dreams, through events, things in your
-
life God is trying to wake you up, but you said, nah,
-
I cannot be. It's just man, you don't realize it.
-
But that God speaks to your situation and speaks to
-
this particular entire city specifically.
-
Okay, so that's very very important. Okay.
-
Now let's read the verses. Okay, I put it up here,
-
just to tree. Verse fourteen. Now it says and to
-
the Angel of the Church of the Laodicians. Right, these
-
things says, the Amen means this are this entire verse.
-
Here is the title that Jesus assigns or being given
-
to Jesus specifically to be revealed who he is to
-
this particular church. So Jesus is revealed as the amen
-
means what definitely or let it be?
-
So let it be? So?
-
Okay, this thing says the amen, the title, the Amen,
-
the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation
-
of God. These are the titles God. As Jesus has
-
many titles, but he has chosen these three titles to
-
be revealed about himself for this particular church. Then Jesus says,
-
I know your works, okay, that you are neither called
-
nor hot. Okay, I could wish you were cold or hot.
-
So then because you are a little warm and neither
-
call nor heart, I will meet you out of my
-
mouth because you say I am rich.
-
Ah, what do they tell you? Guys?
-
They were rich right, so was. It's just on the
-
next door hearing them. This is not just one person,
-
This is the entire city speaking in their hearts.
-
Okay, what has been breaming?
-
What they've been meditating in their hearts and not boasting
-
in their hearts? Every you know what they call it, locals,
-
You know what they feel inside. Jesus says that you
-
have said that you are rich and have become wealthy
-
and has need or nothing. It's not that you're rich, No,
-
it's what you conclude after you become rich. Okay, God
-
is no problem you become rich, But it's what you
-
conclude about life that is alarming. You conclude that you
-
need you have need of nothing. That's the problem. You're saying,
-
Oh God, that's one of the best of know. It's
-
because when you have you say you don't need nothing.
-
Oh God reads their hats. Okay, God reads their hearts.
-
He didn't have to go and look, he didn't. He
-
don't have to go into Instagram and look, hey, what
-
did you say the six months ag He knows exactly
-
where your heart is. Okay, But and do not know
-
that you are wretched, You are miserable, you are poor,
-
you are blind, and you are naked. Notice the kind
-
of adjectives that are being used to describe this, uh,
-
the locals and dyssa wretched, miserable, poor insteall of rich,
-
blind instead of seeing, and naked instead of clothes. Not coincidences,
-
not coincidences? Okay, Then in verse eighteen, Jesus says, I
-
counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire.
-
They have their own goer. But Jesus said, I counsel
-
you to buy go from me, that you may be
-
rich instead of being rich in your own eyes and
-
white garments. You think it's a coincidence that Jesus mentioned
-
white comments here.
-
Now you're like, oh, oh, or this not a coincidence?
-
White garments, That you may be clothed not clothes in
-
a way to give a sort of impression that you
-
are successful in the eyes of the world, that people
-
can judge you by the suit or the handbags that
-
you wear or the watches that you have as well okay,
-
that the shame of your nakedness.
-
May not be revealed. Wow? Is it?
-
Because that everyone was dressing to cover their own insecurities
-
and shame, But God gives another level of covering that
-
your true shame will not be revealed and annoying your
-
eyes with eyeself that you may see not depending on
-
your own that your own medicine isn't it? Now you'll
-
realize that a lot these verses starts to make a
-
bit of sense right now, build sense right now, let's
-
read on. And as many as I love, I rebuilk
-
and chasten.
-
Wow.
-
A lot of times, you know, we imagine that if
-
Jesus comes out, of course Jesus is love live, you know,
-
but you know we think that sometimes, you know, some
-
people think have an impression that Jesus is a teddy bear.
-
You know, Jesus is a teddy man. Man when he comes,
-
it's gonna hard meet man. But if I read the
-
verse become people, that's not my Jesus. I tell you,
-
people say, that's not my Jesus. That's not my brand
-
of Christianity. And you go in online right now, people
-
will create different versions of Christianity, you know, to South.
-
They are kind of Christianity and religion. Some people have
-
changed the Bible as well. Some people picture them Bibles,
-
picture them books of the Bibles. Some verses they interpret
-
differently because they cannot reconcile. They cannot reconcilt with their
-
own lifestyle because the moment God would take priority and
-
take but they got it, uh take eminence right. Their
-
lives become undone. They have to give up so many things,
-
you know, which is harder to trust God or to
-
give up their own to trust God, or to trust
-
their own lives, or to cling on to what they have.
-
What is His name?
-
Then it says, therefore, be zealous and repent. Okay, I
-
want you to highlight those two words, zealous and repent.
-
And he says he verse twenty before, I stand at
-
the door and knock. And if anyone hears my voice
-
and opens the door, okay, here and open, I will
-
come in to him and dine with him, and he
-
with me. And to him who overcomes, okay, I will
-
grant to sit with me on my throne, as I
-
also overcame and sat down with my father on his throne.
-
That he who has an ear, let him hear what
-
the spirit says to the churches. Oh right, So how
-
do you feel after reading these verses?
-
Still a woman? Huge? Right now, Teddy bear?
-
The people think, but I tell you that, you know,
-
it's kind of funny that we had no.
-
Homes last week just this week. Right?
-
What was the title about the Fear of go? Yeah,
-
they can thank me for writing the notes. Okay, kind
-
of kind of similar theme, man, Yeah, no, like Friday
-
read or not I have today, Like it's like fear
-
of God.
-
No.
-
But but but the truth is a lot of times yes,
-
it's Christianity is not about feeling, you know, It's about
-
truth more than any more than anything else. Truth is
-
the one thing that you cannot replace one. And no,
-
it's irreplaceable one. Okay I'm saying not so. And when
-
you begin to leave your life not based on feelings,
-
but based on truth, based on what is irreplaceable, you
-
are unshakable one and all really really unshakable one. Whether
-
you go through a good time a bad time, whether
-
the world is up there or down there or shaking,
-
their life continues to have a meaning and purpose. Okay,
-
So now I want to talk about you know, uh,
-
this part in verse fifteen. Okay, Jesus says, I know
-
your works that you are neither call nor hot, and
-
I wish you were call all hot. So then because
-
you are little warm and neither call nor hot, I
-
will meet you out of my mouth. Now, this is
-
a very famous part that has been preached by many
-
pastors and many just before. I just want to explain
-
a bit of context. So now we've established that Laodicia
-
very rich. Okay, strategy, they got style, Then they got
-
a lot of solutions, answers to medical things. But out
-
of all these things, then they still lack one very
-
very important thing thing that a city needs.
-
No, what's that thing? What do they lack? They don't
-
show the slides yet. What is that? What is what?
-
When you if you're going to start a civilization, you're
-
going to find us start a city. What's the one thing?
-
What's the one important thing you really depend on to
-
begin a civilization order or a village?
-
Was it? Someone says something? Sorry? A king?
-
Yes, yes, you need a king, but many places don't
-
have a king as well. What's the one important resource
-
that you really need?
-
Land?
-
You need land, you are water. One of the most
-
important thing you need is water. I can tell you
-
you can like food, but I tell you today, just
-
for tomorrow, if no water comes into your condor or whatever,
-
that you will suffer, trust me or not? How to
-
flush after you PUPA huh? You want to leave your
-
place unwashed for one day? One day, just one day,
-
no shower for one day, just one day, You'll be
-
crying off the top of your head, just one day.
-
On here.
-
I cannot imagine how important water and sewage is it now?
-
It's so so important, and this is one thing that
-
this city doesn't have. But despite this lack of this
-
strategic importance water, this city still finds success and people
-
still want to stay there because of what other resources
-
they have as well. And so where do they get
-
their water from? If they don't have a natural water source,
-
where do they get their water from? They get their
-
water from two key places, right, two key places. So
-
I'm gonna show you a map here. Okay, do you
-
see Leodisicia in the middle there? Okay, sorry if the
-
phone is a bit too small to you. So Leodissia
-
is at the bottom there, on the left side there
-
and the top and on the right there there are
-
two important cities Okay. At the top there there is
-
hot because the Herepolis okay, Hereopolis there, and then at
-
the right side there we have the coloss A.
-
Okay, so now I just want to make sure that
-
I got it right.
-
Let me just check my notes, apologizer, just want to
-
make sure that I really get my notes correct.
-
Do do.
-
Okay, because suddenly I mix up the thing. So now
-
if I'm not mistaken, Colosse say, Colosse could be wrong.
-
And then suddenly I don't know why, my missoule thing.
-
I think here Appos is the place where you have
-
the mountain waters. Correct me if I'm brong, somebody can
-
double check me in Okay, suddenly my back run.
-
There are two places.
-
One is the mountain areas and one is the what
-
they call it the hot spring areas. Okay, so Herepols.
-
Actually it doesn't sound right. Colosse is the cold water. Yeah,
-
Colosse is the coll water. Actually, okay, Colosse is the
-
call sudden my mind, I can remember, Colosse is the
-
cold water. So they will have what they build. What
-
they do is that they're actually the mountain waters. They
-
have a snow cap okay, mountain, what are the snow
-
and then melt and the waterway actually flow down and
-
they will actually build these pipes okay, all the way
-
from there and then channel it the way all the
-
way down to Laodicia. And then the other place where
-
they have is at Herappoli. Is there where if you
-
see this beautiful or instagrammable hot springs wanna, these are
-
called the hot waters hot springs. They'll actually flow down
-
all the way and they also use the pipe okay,
-
all the way going to Laodica. So if you go
-
to the next light there you actually can see the pipes.
-
They are actually still existing. Just so that you know
-
I'm not bluffing you, Okay. Some of you are like
-
this past the really reaching, you know, really really reaching
-
today you think I'm not.
-
Okay, I'm telling you the truth. Okay, this is the truth.
-
If you go back to the previous like okay, this
-
pamel Calay is actually a very famous I don't know
-
where there's a wonder bies how many you've been to
-
Pamela before.
-
No, no, they're in the permaclay house the water there.
-
Do they allow you to go in? I don't know
-
whether that some hats allowed.
-
Right, you flew over Okay, yeah, it's very it's very famous.
-
You go online National geography, you should be able to
-
see that the very famous. Okay, now both water sources
-
actually directing down all the way to Lao this year.
-
Now the waters from you go back to the Okay,
-
let's keep there. No that the previous one. Sorry, okay,
-
the waters from Heropolis are actually very cool, very nice
-
to drink one.
-
How many of you like to drink hold water? Of sure?
-
I mean nobody likes to drink like warm. That's just
-
generally no bust. People like to drink whole water on
-
huh warm.
-
It is good.
-
I know it's good for your I know it's good
-
for your thing. But my mouth, heaste tells me and anohing.
-
You know, you know nowadays we have too much information
-
is that we should drink water, but actually we want
-
But most people when they are hot, they desire cold
-
one okay most most most of the time. But hot
-
water is not They don't live like us. Hot water
-
is desirable for a different thing. Why is hot water
-
desirable for when they go to the hot spring? Well,
-
not for tree in one min lower their time they
-
go no tree in one Their eyes are telling me
-
they were not selling boat. They don't know hot water
-
was famous for what?
-
What? Healing?
-
Why does it make sense when you go to the
-
Romans to Rome? What do they have plenty there? Romans?
-
You know? Roman buff is actually one of the signs
-
of Roman luxury? Did you know that?
-
And if you go to Roman but normal bus are
-
just not normal about the bus are layer one? Know,
-
so the richest people will have the hottest water, and
-
then after they showered, the left over waters are going
-
down to another level where people like you amediate to
-
use one needs go down and down on a few
-
levels one and there they got system one on there
-
they don't have cold weave giving you hot water.
-
Okay. Then you're like, oh.
-
My goodness, I'm bathing using people's left over hot water.
-
But that's how it is, Okay, it is how it
-
was done like that one Okay, there was so they
-
had Roman But if you are rich enough, if you
-
have your own bath system as well, really proper bath one. Okay,
-
So if you go and study, it's like that. And
-
so having a hot water was a sign of luxury
-
living for health, okay, please, it's not about treating one coffee.
-
Okay.
-
So when you think about cold and hot water. You
-
must have a different mindset at that time. Coal is
-
to drink, hot is for healing. Okay, so now let's
-
move on there. So because of that, Jesus begins to
-
to Jesus recognizes what.
-
They actually have as well.
-
But when the water's actually reached them, what happens to
-
the water.
-
It says that it became little warm. You know why,
-
it's little warmer.
-
It's not just the normal water you get, you know,
-
non just buy it off, you know, a family mine.
-
You know.
-
It's not like that warm is warmer. It's like the
-
type of temperature when you warming. If you right now,
-
if I ask you the vomit, if I ask you
-
the vomit, now you take the temperature that's lute warm
-
and I actually to drink that water. Now you like
-
you got grossed out right now? You are all grossed out.
-
Right now, you're like, oh, that's what you men look warm.
-
It's not mineral water called No, it's the body temperature.
-
It's like the type of water you're like, oh, nobody
-
likes it. So Colrosse has a big water problem. As
-
rich as they are, they have a big water problem.
-
People don't like their water. They get sick because of
-
the people comes like, ah, you are rich, but your
-
water is making people sick.
-
There has one of the highest penetration of cholera.
-
And you know just what they call it uh food
-
contamination as well because of their uh loute warm water
-
and what made it lute warm?
-
What makes a water lot warm? Three?
-
I feel like I mean a lecture sasi, Yeah, asking
-
my student what makes a water LiOD warm?
-
Sorry?
-
Travel time? Yes, exactly. All the word I will use
-
is along the way, along the way. You see when
-
it travels, right along the way, what what happens? It
-
gets conditioned by the surrounding. It gets conditioning as you travel.
-
It's not just traveling. When you travel, you get conditioned
-
along the way by whatever that you pass through, by
-
the surrounding, by the temperature as well. You no longer
-
remain the same as you once started from. Life is
-
like there isn't it? Ah started on fire? Then your
-
children comes?
-
No time? Now you don't have children? Tell me how
-
to leave my life?
-
Oh we played that car with people you never maybe
-
don't tell me how to leave my how to leave
-
my merry?
-
We played that card? You know? Then after that oh,
-
what comes sous on? What comes us on?
-
Actually, I got a lot of things that don't want
-
to tell by it. I think I hold it back, right,
-
I got a lot of things, but hold it back. Yeah,
-
yes I will. I will in due time. Any time I.
-
Got, I gotta pick. I gotta learn to pick, you know,
-
I got to pick my bads.
-
I got a lot of things I want to tell
-
my children, but I gotta pick my bad But it's
-
along the way sometimes, you know, work comes. And actually
-
when I was working, I got offer a jobson to
-
work on Saturday the other day and one of the
-
best corporate finance equity from before time. Okay, so work
-
for this very famous Bach guy. You know, everything went well.
-
That was so. I was so proud I got selected
-
in that team.
-
You know, you're like, oh, you only get one selected
-
one and and the listen.
-
I was like, so proud I got I got.
-
Cruel when there I found oh you also the wook
-
on today, I'm like, then you ask this question? Now, God,
-
why you give me such an opening? Are you trying
-
to bless me or are you testing me?
-
You know? Have you you asked a question before?
-
You know?
-
I'm talking about you God, are you blessing me or
-
are you testing me?
-
No?
-
Make it clear to remove the temptation away. Lord, you
-
bring this girl into my life. It's Lord, are you
-
testing me or not?
-
I mean right?
-
But I tell you this is a very important theology.
-
And God will never force you to follow him man,
-
He will always give you an option always. Today I
-
just thought I was preaching at the Breakfacer. You know
-
why is a good example. Of course, you can talk
-
about adamant if giving having a trader, but think about
-
Peter when even after Peter denied Jesus, right, how did
-
God restore him? Jesus actually went to the sea where
-
Peter was fishing. Peter went back to the thing that
-
he did before following Jesus. He backslided so faster that
-
his name from Peter became Simon.
-
That's how how bad he backslided. From Peter became Simon.
-
And so Jesus went all the way back to one
-
stage one to restore Peter, met him and where he is,
-
and but he didn't follow See Peter, you deny me
-
three times? Are you going to follow me back? And
-
he didn't say that. What did Jesus do? He saw
-
Peter what he was doing, and he actually blessed him.
-
You know, cast your net on the right side.
-
He caught so much he could, he could survey one
-
year for written on and God will give your heart's
-
desire and make it there. He won't force you. And
-
he said that what did he What did Jesus ask him? Peter?
-
Do you learn me more than all of this? And
-
all of this?
-
I will give you what you pray for, give you
-
all that you want, all your mistakes. You'll deny me
-
three times? You don't, don't. People will read about it
-
for the next two thousand years, about in the about
-
your failing in the Bible.
-
It's quite a nice deal. How many of you want?
-
Your mistakes are to be revealed for the next two
-
thousand years on the Bible. Peter, you messed up big
-
time life. You can heap it all wiped out your name.
-
Don't have to follow you live your own life and
-
you got blessed and that's it.
-
Or you choose to follow me your weaknesses and everything.
-
I will use you know what I'm saying? All is
-
it amazing? God will always give assault. I always say people, Now, Pastor,
-
is this job a blessing for me. It's I said,
-
what is It's not just about what God giving? What
-
is God asking you to choose?
-
Yeah, I mean said now and what discernment has He
-
given to you to choose? Then you decide. I'm saying no. Now,
-
everything that gets is gold. People, it's the truth. But
-
now I'm creating a lot of confusion in your life. Ready, no, Pasta,
-
you're not making my life easier. Pastor, I go better
-
and fast and another one more days. Ready, I just
-
finished pasting. Ready, now the prayer. Past already? Okay, good,
-
let go for you. Okay, but it is the truth, okay, everybody, Okay,
-
So okay, let me finish the life. So along the way,
-
we get conditioned by circumstances in our lives, by temptations,
-
and then you realize that it's very, very, very challenging.
-
Okay.
-
So now let's morn so a faith that passed by condition,
-
by the environment, and it's emerging different from the sauce,
-
and it's coming out as loukewarm. Sometimes you are neither
-
hot nor cold, and it's sickly to drink now a
-
long the time. Man, there's the thing you know, when
-
you're look warmer. You don't just stay your woman. Now
-
you kind of want to tell yourself that you're okay.
-
It looks like water, smells like water, feels like water,
-
but it's totally different from its sauce and some of
-
the things that you begin to tell yourself. You begin
-
to say, well, I am wealthy, I don't need anything.
-
I'm fine, I'm spiritual. I come to church. You know,
-
I sing loud and I clapt during worship time as well.
-
I sound and feel like a typical, perfect tempered Christian.
-
By inside, you are miserable. You know what I'm saying.
-
My Christian life is about which church I attend and
-
label myself.
-
Labeling.
-
You know what I mean, right, It's an exercise or labeling. Okay,
-
next life can go to the next one. Okay, no
-
worries me. Okay Now. Jesus then proceeds to tell them
-
to do what I counsel you to buy from me,
-
go refined in the fire. Jesus is telling them, you
-
see all these things you accumulate.
-
You buy with your wealth, Bawan.
-
Let you know that in the Kingdom of God, the
-
thing the only acceptable currency that you can use to
-
obtain anything that is off goal or what we call
-
eternal value eternal value. The goal of the earth has
-
permanent value. The goal of heaven has eternal value. Okay,
-
what can you what can you buy it? You cannot
-
buy with Malaysia ring gage, you cannot buy with bitcoin,
-
you cannot buy if anything else you can only buy
-
with faith that everyone always have the option to exercise
-
no matter how hard your circumstances is.
-
You can always choose faith.
-
Even a robber or a criminal who is hanging on
-
the cross, he can still choose faith. In stripped of
-
nothing shame by the public, on your last dying breath,
-
you can still choose. You can still exercise faith. As
-
long as your brew have breath. You can choose faith. Yeah,
-
I mean I nothing in this world. You can not
-
say all my circumstances, I don't have time for growth
-
and faith.
-
No, no, no, you always have Okay, So to buy? What
-
to buy?
-
Go refine in the five minutes goal that actually lasts
-
and that is tested. There's pure and eternal and white
-
garments that you may be clothed. You want style about
-
only clothe that God cares for you is that you
-
have proper covering that you may be saved. There's a
-
time I will teach you guys about the concept of covering.
-
Okay, but I don't have time today.
-
But the covering, okay, that covers with not material think
-
that covers with righteousness Okay, righteousness okay, and soft that
-
you may and sorry, and anoint your eyes with eye
-
sound that you may see.
-
Okay.
-
Now, So now in verse nineteen, Jesus says, as many
-
as I love, I rebulke and chase them. Therefore be
-
zealous and repent. Okay, can you go back to that? Yeah,
-
just give it to this line. So if being cold
-
and being hot sae, so it being lukewarm is undesirable?
-
Okay? What does being cold and being hot spiritually actually mean? Okay?
-
Before now, so Pasta, you're saying being the worm is
-
no good? So should it be hot should be called?
-
What does being hot spiritually mean? What that's being called spiritually?
-
Me?
-
Which one do you preve her? Who wants to be
-
called spiritually? Who wants to be hot spiritually? Are you sure?
-
Some of you?
-
Like I know, I know you're starry Pasta man, I
-
know your tactical right there. You always give you always
-
you always give us a fake, fake, move on a head, shagen,
-
Am I going right?
-
Am I going right? Fake? Fake? You not he pasta.
-
You cannot fake me?
-
Really?
-
Some of you like, no, no, no, I'm not buying that.
-
You know no, So tell me is it? What is
-
this just talking about? Neither hot nor care.
-
I always believe that the way to interpret scripture is
-
always using scripture.
-
To aid to interpret scripture is in scripture.
-
The key to interpret a lot of things is always
-
in the scripture if you want to interpret, and times
-
are of revelation as you use scripture. Actually a lot
-
of the keys are in the Bible. So the key
-
to do this, as I draw eventually is actually in
-
these two words. To be zealous and to repent. Okay,
-
to be zealous and to repent. Now, let's talk about
-
a core Christian. Why is a core Christian? It's a
-
core Christian? Good?
-
No, it's not good. Lie.
-
If you talk about currently like we say, hey, I
-
am a core Christian, yea, nobody's abana. We always identify
-
col Christian as someone who doesn't attendure, doesn't read Bible,
-
don't don't pray anymore.
-
That's what we think. It's core. But you must understand
-
the viewers don't read the scripture like we do.
-
They think when they this this letter was written to
-
the Laoticians. When they think about cold water, what do
-
they think about? They think about the water they came
-
from close saying, they think about the cool, refreshing water
-
that is unlike the liot warm water they have in
-
level this year. So what does it mean cold water
-
is desirable? Is the desirable waters that I is called
-
one hundred plus that I want?
-
You know what I'm saying. You know, when Jesus says
-
that cold it actually means that. So if cold water
-
is desirable, what is the opposite then? Or what is
-
the loot? Warmness? Then means that you are undesirable. When
-
you are little warmed, you are undesirable. Then you ask
-
another level, what is an undesirable Christian?
-
What is an undesirable spiritual state that God really dislikes?
-
It's written there the type of heart that is not
-
willing to repent. There is why Jesus the be zealous
-
and repent. The first one is repent. There's nothing and
-
the more undesirable than a person who chooses not to repent,
-
even when they know they are poor wretched and naked,
-
unwilling you. I'm saying, now, but what is the most
-
desirable Christian or believer, or child or daughter before the
-
eyes of God? One day is broken, humble, contrite, and
-
nothing ready, and they saying, God, you have your way.
-
I'm wrong.
-
The one that fears God more than anything else, the
-
one that is willing to repent, you come saying now.
-
So when we talk about what a day is called
-
means a person who is having such a broken and
-
repentant heart. There is why Jesus repent. So when we
-
we don't repair, we've come to that. I don't think
-
my Christian life is wrong. So if a pastor comes
-
here and tells me and speaks to me something I'm
-
uncomfortable with, I change church first. That's the first thing
-
I change church. I'm not saying that you cannot change church. Okay,
-
I'm not trying to retain membership. I don't think we
-
are there in that member We're not horror. More importantly,
-
I tell you the most important thing is truth. More
-
than anything else. You cannot take ext membership, can't enter
-
into heaven and pe say okay, we don't sell that.
-
We don't sell that do we sell there. We don't
-
sell there. People are sorr. Yeah, we don't have that membership.
-
We don't sell there. The only thing you can is
-
the blood of Jesus.
-
Stuff. We don't sell there in all. We don't sell
-
that at all. But the truth is that's why that.
-
When you when when someone speaks to you something it's
-
very painful, meanstells like hey, directing it personal? He asked,
-
does it speak truth? And are you willing to recognize
-
something is wrong?
-
Yes?
-
The delivery sometimes the way it could be done, but
-
I did end of the day. Can you see God
-
speaking behind them? Be I'm saying that a lot of
-
people cannot look past the messenger and look at the
-
king that sent it.
-
A lot of people.
-
How many times have people turned away the messenger because
-
they doubt? You know, they're turned away the message and
-
because they a doubt the messenger. And that is to
-
your own demands, you know, because you like discernment and
-
wars have been waging this world in the history of
-
this world because they turned away the messenger before you can.
-
I mean right, they're not perfect. I guarantee you far
-
from perfect, like you and me as well. Sometimes could
-
be even of lower staters than you. But yet the
-
message what are they saying as well? So the first
-
thing that we doing, if we want to make ourselves
-
core desirable in the eyes of God, first is that
-
we are humble and repentful, repentant before God. Now, why
-
is a hot Christian? Then hot Christian means like yeah,
-
you know, shout out and everything. But I remember, like
-
I said, what what is the reader considering the time?
-
They don't ge attentions like we do want to know
-
this different? Now, okay, when they think about hot water,
-
what do they think about the hot water?
-
Off?
-
They think about what healing? But Jesus asked them to
-
do what to be zealous? What does zealous actually mean?
-
The zealous means boiling over, boil you forgot and you
-
boil something. You know, you boil your hardboard, you forgot
-
off the water. Then you suddenerate everything, all the water
-
spilled out, and then you know, you close your fire
-
and your guests, you know, boiling over. This caused zealous
-
boiling over. So what is the opposite of a zealous
-
and zealous? And hot is such a word? And hotcall
-
and hot or lukewarm Christian? It's a poor person who
-
is not zealous means when you, when you, when you
-
believe in God, your faith must flow over to touch lives.
-
The waters in Pamelkalay was so attractive that people from
-
everywhere comes for the water for healing. Is your life
-
as a Christian overflowing with the truth, with the wisdom
-
of God that everyone around you wants to come to you.
-
Because it's overflowing.
-
You come saying not A lot of Christians say, I
-
just want to seemer, I just want to remain. Look,
-
I'm comfortable that no one in this world will want
-
to come over for you.
-
You're just having enough for yourself.
-
The whole Christian life is just about God blessing me, me.
-
Going to the country that I want.
-
Maybe I want to immigrate this I was just this
-
is the only thing that I want.
-
I don't care about anything.
-
You know, when I was young, I want to want
-
to go to Australia until God said no, no, Australia, kill
-
my dream of eighteen years. You know what, there's a
-
saying on you know what I do have? Timer needs
-
a very important thing, very very important. A lot of
-
people this very great importance on calling and I was
-
preaching about calling on ab Abs agree, it's very very important,
-
very very important, and I believe in calling on God.
-
But a lot of times when people receive the calling
-
of God, they don't realize that the moment they begin
-
to respond to the calling on God, there are two
-
forces drawing you, the voice of God and the voice
-
of the enemy. What can possibly happen when a person
-
is walking along the calling of God? What can possibly
-
go wrong? What can possibly go wrong? Just ask, just
-
ask Father Abraham? What can possibly go wrong? This guy
-
I followed God to the tea, left his father's house.
-
What can possibly go wrong? When you follow off the
-
colling on God and each mail can come out? I
-
can tell you why you can follow God for so
-
many years. Ninety he followed God up until he was
-
ninety years old. I think it's nine years old. None
-
about ninet years old. He got about ninety plus ninety
-
nine like that, okay, up to ninety as well. It's
-
like nine out of ten. And he follower and then
-
he decided to do things out of his own way. Oh,
-
he used his own strength to fulfill God's calling. And
-
he called it Ishmael. You know I'm saying now you
-
can be so focused on. Oh, God has given me this.
-
He told me he will start this ministry. He told
-
me he will do this and do that. And you're following, Hey, God,
-
this is not working out.
-
Man.
-
This person's supposed to help me, betray me. You're supposed to.
-
Have this funding, didn't get provided, supposed to go in
-
go to this place, but didn't get fulfilled.
-
And you do everything out of your own stream.
-
Eventually, I think God is telling me that I need
-
to work harder to make it work. By the way,
-
only God helps only those who help himself out.
-
You see.
-
Our theology changes along the way. When we know get man,
-
we start, we start the ship go posting here along
-
the way. I'm telling you all this because I've been
-
there before. Okay, we start to go along the way
-
and we start to make things happen. Oh, I think
-
God is not responding to me. Now it's coming here
-
where there you get a child and you get ismail.
-
You know, Oh this is God. Thank you God.
-
You post on Instagram, thank you, thank you. You know.
-
But God said that's not the one that given to you.
-
Go ahead to send the two angels are to come
-
to Abrahama and this time you will have a son,
-
not Ishmael. And through your wife Sarah, not through your maid.
-
You're telling me all this war is not you can't
-
have what you want. You think you're having the calling
-
on God, but yet you still missed it, and it's
-
become a curse for you. You know, And you say, oh,
-
maybe I heard the calling of God wrong. No, it's
-
not because you hurt the calling of God wrong. It's
-
because you did it out of your own strength. You
-
want the ministry so much, you want a success so much,
-
you want this family so much that you did it
-
off your own strength. So one of the things that
-
a lot of people will testify when they really really
-
find and see God's hand in their life is that
-
when you pursue the calling on God, you will realize
-
that God begins to kill.
-
That calling inside you.
-
If God begins to kill that man, kill your dream,
-
kill your strength, and completely cut you off, that you
-
gave up doing this, and then the calling comes out.
-
I didn't do anything but in this mystery, come to
-
my pace. You know you I'm saying. You know, it's
-
kind of funny you all, because you know what. Finally
-
you desire to let God take the main driver's set.
-
Me. You just were like, oh, how do you want
-
to do anything? Ninety nine years old came out Isaac.
-
You know people everybody started to realize, became blessed. You
-
know you can.
-
I'm saying no, because you would try to do out
-
of your own strength. God that to kill that man,
-
God that to kill that Peter. You know, really that
-
Peter died or not really died that you know at
-
the breakfast day, No, Simon, you love me more than
-
all these Someone salla, Lord, you know all things I
-
did not break anymore. But you know that's all I'm Lord.
-
It doesn't matter what I say. I got nothing. But
-
if you know that is enough. It's such a humble
-
thing to say. You know, if we finally saw that
-
Peter of all died, now none that Simon died.
-
Now Peter arose and you in.
-
Your own calling is so you start to realize something.
-
You don't be surprised if what you want. Sometimes so
-
much gets notified and you feel like, oh no, that's
-
the new beginning. You begin to walk in God's grace
-
and some of you you might feel that God is
-
speaking through that like oh no, no, and you get disappointed.
-
Ah, now we'll never.
-
Trust God again. Trust me, I've seen it so many times.
-
God is just getting started with you. God is just
-
getting Don't be afraid of failure. Don't be afraid of
-
set back. Don't be afraid all you have to stay
-
in this place or anywhere. I want it, because what
-
you don't get what you wanted, you feel like you
-
hold the rest of your life. You're gonna set up
-
for economic class. You're gonna say, no, we feel like
-
we settle for economic must be settled. When you think
-
like that, you do not glorify God. And all you
-
understand now, when you think like that, you do not
-
glorify God. You know what I'm saying, No, No, I
-
don't care what you do in worship. When you think
-
like that, you're not glorifying God. And what I'm saying no,
-
So worship and praise is more than just that it's
-
in your heart.
-
What are you willing to accept?
-
Embrace that God's plan for you, even if it includes
-
dying to a lot of things as well, and letting
-
God take control.
-
Amen?
-
All right, this is all repent means what God said
-
that I want.
-
I don't want a liut warm Christian. I don't want
-
a warm church.
-
I want that it's cold and that is hot, one
-
that is called that is repenting, humble before me, willing
-
to take my corrections, willing to buy gold from me.
-
We need to take the clothes that I give to him.
-
We need to take my eyes out that he may see,
-
and willing to be zealous for me.
-
You know what I'm saying.
-
No, it's like a tree that is willing to bear fruit,
-
not willing just to settle. You see, there's the problem
-
with the as a close to as a closet. That's
-
the problem with Laodica. Despite them having such a critical problem,
-
know what the source right, because they were stop saying,
-
we cannot find anywhere else to find such a strategic
-
place to earn money. We cannot find anywhere else to
-
find this you know, this wool and you all and
-
this eyeself. No, we're willing to tolerate it. But God
-
gave them warning. You know what was the warning. It's
-
not just the water. They actually had a lot of earthquakes,
-
you know, literal shakings. You know, talk about revival. Revival
-
means that someone is sleeping on God literally put earthquake
-
in them.
-
You all.
-
Seventy years before this letter was returned, there was a
-
great earthquake, and they say, it's okay, we don't need
-
money from the government. We can We got money in
-
my bank account. I can't set to day. God shakes
-
you in your life. I don't know what kind of
-
shaking God had happened. Maybe you had a dream, Maybe
-
you have a health scare, maybe you have a financial
-
scared or something like that. I'm not trying to be anything,
-
but I'm just saying that you have to understand. God
-
can speak for anything one. God can speak for anything one. Now,
-
God gives you warning, it's very specific in your family.
-
But whether sometimes you wake up or sometimes you thinker
-
the things like ah, what do you do? You begin
-
to spiritually dismiss all these things because you were unwilling
-
to change. You were unwilling to begin too fast and
-
to have a spiritual vigilance. Said, God may be speaking
-
to me, I need to wake up. But you continue
-
to slumber and you stumble. This city eventually got destroyed.
-
Today it is no longer there, no longer there.
-
You know why the earthquake finally destroyed it finally destroyed
-
by earthquake you all you see the shaking can happen.
-
Continue revive what God said? God said, Revival said, reviv
-
shay shape shape.
-
You don't want to respond, Continue to be unrepentant, Continue
-
to live in your own comfortable things until the shaking,
-
until the grounds beneath you come down. But those who listen,
-
I don't know how many did they continue to move.
-
You may not have the things that you are, but
-
you are at least having your spiritual life restored, you know,
-
realizing that this earth is just temporary, but what we
-
want is more eternal.
-
So my question is here, It's God, are you Are
-
you hearing and seeing the shakings that are happening in
-
your life? Are you really hearing and seeing the shakings
-
in your life? Or are you so insistent on what
-
you want that you chill? Now?
-
Very personal, isn't it. I'm sure that many of you
-
have dreams in it. We ALWASO have dreams on someone?
-
If you had desires from young or so? I'm sure,
-
but I want let you know, God, that's not short
-
change anyone. The plans that God has for you you
-
can never even dream about. You may ever dream about,
-
but what you can offer today is that God, I'm
-
willing to make room. I'm even willing to start from
-
zero because i know there's no one else I'd rather
-
to be on the driver's seat than you.
-
