A Youth Revived for God | Pr Stephen Kong

Why don't we turn to First Timothy chapter four together? Okay,

and Timothy comes after the letters you know, galicious efficients, Philippines, Collosians,

the Tessalonians, and then after that, of course corinities.

I think I missed that. And then comes Timothy. Okay,

are you there all right?

First Timothy chapter four, verse twelve to sixteen says, let

no one despise your youth, but be an example to

the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit,

in faith, in purity. Till I come give attention to reading,

to exportation, to doctrine. Do not neglect the gift that

is in you, which was given to you by prophecy

with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.

Meditate on these things, give yourself entirely to them, that

your progress may be evident to all verse sixteen. Take

he to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them,

for in doing this you will save both yourself.

And those who hear you. And man.

The Lord blesses the reading of his word, And so

this passage and the Bible starts off by saying, let

no one despise your youth. Now, when Paul the writer

of this, you know, a letter to Timothy.

I tried to do some research.

Right, and Paul was probably about seventy years old by then, okay,

and he was writing to this letter to this young Timothy,

which is around his thirties.

Okay, so he was still considered a youth. Okay.

Anybody less than thirty in the house, give me a wave.

Less than thirty, I think more than half of years

hind will go up.

Okay.

Anyone here more than thirty, you see your hands, so hey,

don't worry by age. Okay, no way, still young young? Yeah,

I see Ben waving his hand very widely. You know,

I am also want in thirty okay, But yeah he was.

He was vitness and encouragement or an exportation or teaching

or even a commandment not to to young Timothy.

And Timothy was young at that time.

I think he was also known as like a pastor

in the church, the leader in the church, you know,

So he was dealing with a lot of challenges.

I think people were.

Questioning about doctrine or certain things like that, and maybe

Timothy would have felt very intimidated. Okay, just like how

some of our young people went himself, especially on the stage.

It's very intimidating, right do you agree? Yeah?

Okay, maybe half of you only agree, so you know

it's scary. You know, it's scary. Uh.

And most words will be afraid.

But I won't let you know that we truly believe

in the power of God that you know, he he

will annoying those in which He calls you know, and

if He has caught you, he will give it a

grace sufficient to do all day he has called you

to do.

Amen. I believe it. And we believe in young people.

That's why we get them to you know, to preach

a ten minion message, or to lead conveniant or to

even a chair worship service because we believe in them.

We really do.

And maybe someone us just sitting here you might be thinking, oh,

a blapasta. I'm more than thirty years old. H I'm

more than forty years old.

So what is my role? Yes?

You you still have a role, you know, because if

you look at uh, you know, the Book of Timothy

and how poor was teaching Timothy. Uh, there's this famous

verse that we always use it for discipleship. It's found

in second Timothy too too, you know, which says you

know and the things that you have heard from me

among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who would

be able to teach others also, So there are four

groups of people in this simple verse. You know and

the things have heard from me? Commit these things to

faithful men who will be who will be able to

teach others also. So there's a paw who wrote the letter,

there is the Timothy he's writing two, and there's a

faithful faithful ones, right, and there's also the others. So

there are four groups of people in this, uh, you know,

this hypership journey itself. So you might be you might

be thinking, okay, maybe this message for the young people. No,

I'm I'm gonna encourage you. If you're above the age

of the young, you could be like a Paul in

this in this instance, okay, you know, as an encourager

or as as as a teacher, and to others who

are younger than us, like the Timothy's okay, and from

the Timothys to the faithful ones okay, and also the

faithful men, and then finding it also to the others. Okay,

all right, so let me come back to the verse. Uh,

it's the first time teach the four verse self. It

says let no one no, actually, it says, let me

be the exact one. It says, let no one despise

your youth. Depending on your version, let no one despise

your youth. And what does this word despise actually mean?

It basically just means, you know, a lack of respect,

or in simple English is don't allow someone to look

down on you just because you're young, you know. And

that's my encouragement to you, to those of you here

serving the Lord now who are young, who are still

in your age of your youth, don't let anyone look

down on you. Because surely is God who annoints us,

and is God who calls us. And when he has

called us, he will give us an annointing.

Amen, we do it.

Everything is unto the Lord, and he gives us a

grace to do what he has called us to do.

And did you know that there are many young people

around your age who were also heroes in the Bible.

Let me give us some example. How old was Daniel

when he was in the King's courts anybody want to guess. Okay,

I don't know the exact numbers, but roughly we can tell. Okay,

he was roughly below his trainees. Okay, how many of

you here below twenty years old? Not many, you know,

I think? Okay, yeah, one of the why Jewish raised

a hand.

Yeah, not many, you know? Okay, But Daniel, Daniel really,

uh you know, a man of God. He was.

He and his freet friends you know, never compromise, you know,

they were they had you know, the ten times better

spirit in them, you know. And he was young, right,

I think it was about seventeen years old, roughly around that,

less than twenty. Let me give you another name, David.

You know, when David beat Goliath, he was not and

he was not fifty years old?

No, how was he? I think the Bible Sayce was

a teenager. Okay.

So I don't know exactly what his age, but we

can make a guest. There's a there's a range, okay,

and we believe that he was also billow twenty years

old when he beat Goliath. So come on, you can

slay giants in lesson in under twenty years old, okay,

if God calls you to do it, he will give

you the power to do it.

Amen.

And I think he was fought the lions or bess,

you know. So don't let anyone despise your youth, you know.

But remember when God calls you, you know, he will

give you the spirit of God, the annoying thing to

do what he has called you to do.

Amen.

And then it goes on to say, be an example

to the believers. Now, most other versions actually uses this

word be an example to the believers, but there's one version.

She's the KJV version actually uses the word be an

example of the believers.

Are you thinking something.

Now? When I did a bit of research, of course,

when Forwards asking Timothy to be an example to the believers,

it's not wrong, it's not wrong. But actually scholled us

believe that the more accurate representation in this verse should

have been be an example of the believers, meaning to those.

Who are not believers yet. Okay, that's why he's just

trying to say.

Okay, now, regardless where they be example to the believers

are of their believers. The point is we still ought

to be an example, even you want to be an example. Okay,

But I just went a little bit deeper you want

to be an example. And what is a Christian? Basically,

the Christian is a follower Christ, you know. And I

like to say not just a follower Christ, but a

disciple of Christ. What christis called us to do.

We want to do.

And I think we've see associate this now, you know.

We want to be more like Christ, more like Christ,

you know. And that's what a Christian is, you know.

I think that's another word for its. It's basically called

little Christ, little Christ. And people see you, they should

see Christ in you. And so we ought to be

an example unto others.

And so.

I truly pray and believe that our young people of

this generation will truly leave like a role Ordel for

the generations to come, you know. And I pray that

we will leave a revived life for others to see,

to be an example and the others. And so I'm

going to pick out on these six points that we

can be revived in. There was written in the letters

and the six points were you know, it says it's

been an example in in your word, in conduct, love, spirit, faith,

in purity. There were the six points written there that

we can be an example in. So my first point

is maybe we re rived in our word or another

word for that is, in our speech or what we say. Now,

you and I know that words are powerful and words

carry weight. You know, the Bible actually tells us that.

You know, life and death is in the power of

the tongue, you know, So be very careful with how

we speak our words because your words can either build

a person up or break a person down.

You have a choice, you know.

And so I prayed that the young people in our generation,

not just young people, but we need those who are

older to also set an example for us to follow. Right,

So I pray that you we revived in our speech,

you know, what we say, and then we will build

others up instead of carrying them down. Because if Ficure

chapter four, verse twenty nine perses, let no corrupt word

for see it out of your mouth, but what is

good for necessary edification that it may impart grace to

the hearers.

Come on, let no corrupt word proceed from your mouth.

So I don't know how about you, especially those of

you who are young, you know, in growing up, whether

you have ever gotten into the habit of using power words.

I want to let you know it's not a good example.

You know many of us and growing up in our

young days, we may have used it before me included.

You know, sometimes you have very bad influence and today's

coming even worse. Can't imagine in my time and in

today's time it's becoming even even worse.

Uh.

The influence in your school is terrible. You know.

We hear kids as young as small little age you know,

less than ten yars already using forwards. You know where

do they learn it from? It's obvious the Internet, the

social media today, uh, and their friends. You know, it's

it's obvious. Uh. And and I pray it you will

be convicted because I still remember there was a time

in my life that I was you know, I had

a lot of very bad influence around me, and uh.

You know, I also began to pick it up.

And after one year, I felt really convicted, and I'm like,

I've done enough with this, you know, I asked a

lot to remove it, and I never used it ever again,

by the grace of God. And so sometimes you and

I I can come in that kind of position, know

where where we have been influenced. But I want to

tell you, I'll let you know that your words are powerful.

You know, it carries weight.

Uh.

And in order to be a good example, the best

is to never use this foul or waggle waggle words,

you know, because in today's time, my people feel it's

cool to you it. Have you heard that before? Yeah,

people use it as a greet thing. I'm like, no,

it's not, you know, and this doesn't work for me.

And and as believers, I prayed that we will stand

firm and not use you know, far wards. And when

you can stand as a Christian right and not use

it for a long time, right, eventually people will actually

defend you on your behalf or I've heard of this

time a wherebyer uh. You know, my my colleagues, you

know of fans are they're they're you know, all speaking

very vulgar or very bad words. And after sending someone

who asked me how come I stevehn never you never

used the word, and I don't have to say it, right,

someone else will say, oh yeah, yeah, won't hear him

say it?

You know, he never never heard before, or he never

use it, you know.

Let a man prays another another person at all, And

I pray that you will have the car testimony as

a young person because growing up the influences it's bad.

It's a lot of bad influence. And I praise young

people revive in our spirit. Maybe you know, we arrive

in our speech.

You what me say.

And so these days, right, I find it really difficult

to watch a movie. Heah, I think you know where

I'm going. I find it really difficult to watch a

movie without hearing either one of these two words. One

is the power word, which I wouldn't say it, and

two is the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

I think you'll agree with me. And sometime when I'm

watching the movie sometimes there's some movies that I really.

Love, right, I when it comes to that part, right,

I'm the path I know, because I can't stand it.

And it's really really difficult to watch a movie these days,

you know, without hearing either one of these two words.

And that is why I prayed it.

As our young generation rise up, we will be reriving

the words that we speak. You know that we will

speak good and edifying words. Amen, let's all turn the

James chapter three, verse eight. Jameis Shepard three verse eight

to twelve says, but no man can tame the tongue

it is an unruly evil full of daily poison. With

it we bless our Lord, bless our God and Father.

And with it we curse men who have been made

in the similitude of God. Wow, out of the same

mouth proceed blessing and cursing, my Vegian, These things ought

not to be. So there's a spring sent for fresh

water and bitter from the same opening. Can a fixtory

my vegian bare olives or grapefruit bare fixed?

There's no spring heels both salt water and fresh So I.

Don't have the same much, body, know, the word of

God is very clear that with the same mouth that

we used to praise God, you know it ought not

to be. So they will use the same mouth to

curse the Lord curse others. You know, in a sense

it can't be. You can't have both good and even

coming up from the same mouth, both blessing and cursing

from the same mouth.

So I prayed it.

We'll be convicted. Come on, Maybe we re rived in

our speech, in our words. And if you need to speak,

speak the our curse of God. And if you read

that verse, it actually talks about speak as though God

was speaking to you. That's what he says. That's what

it means. Okay, if you have to speak, speak, encourage

someone and live them up instead of bringing them down.

Amen.

That's the first one we write in our speech. The

second one is re rive in our conduct. And conduct

basically is just what we do or how we live

our lives, you know, because remember everything that we do,

we do it as unto the Lord. James Shepter three

verse thirteen reminds us. Actually the same verse I just

read this, nour James Shept the three verse thirteen. It's

the next verse, who is wise and understand among you?

Let him show by good conduct that his words are

done in meekness his works, So his works are done

in the meekness of wisdom. So maybe we rerive in

our conduct, in how we behave, because how many of

you know that action always speaks louder than words.

It does.

You can you can say to your friend, I'm a Christian,

I'm a believer, but they will actually show it.

You know. We can say that we are a Christian,

but do we go to church?

Does actually show it because they may not be able

to see what's inside your heart, but they can see

the fruit of it. They can see your action on

the outside, so your friends will be able to see.

And ladies and gentlemen, I want to remind you as

believer us, as Christians, people are constantly watching us. I

wonder whether you have had this or friends say the

statement to you before, Well, Christian can do that? Vanna

why they never use it for any other religioner have

you ever wondered? Most of the time it's Christians. People

are watching you, and we ought to live an example

to the believers and also live an example of the

believers to others of how a Christian should live their life. Amen,

And it starts with us. So I want to say

a few things that you and I should never do.

One of it, I'm sure you hurry before. In Malaysia

is called bribe library.

You know, uh, you know.

I have many stories in my work in my marketplace

or my workplace, and working in construction is never easy,

really never easy, because it's a very common thing to

do in my work nature of work. But I can

stand before you say no, we have never given nor

received bribing our work. And I pray that you'll continue

to stand song in the in that way. And so

as as celebrating the youth. Right, I'm going to show

you you two quick testimonies. One when I was a student.

When I was a student, right, I in my final year,

I chose my modules, okay, and I love to do assignments.

I chose a lot of my modules as assignment based

and long story shot, when it came to my final FIP,

my final year project FYP, I couldn't finish it in time, right,

and I asked my lecture for an extension. How many

if you asked the lecture for extension before? Yeah, I'm

sure you have. So I asked my lecture for extension,

and my lecture basically told me that he was unable

to give me the extension, but he gave me a

suggestion to get the extension. He asked me to go

to the doctors to get a letter or some sickness letter,

you know, and with the letter, he'll be able to

extend my my submission dateline by maybe a week or

few days. In simple terms, he asked me to forge

this letter to be able to get the extension. And

in that moment, when I was talking to my lecture

in his in his office, I said, no, so I

can't do that. You know, are you suggesting me to

cheat to get an extension? And long story short, I

told him, you know what, I'm not going to do

that and I'm okay to not have an extension. And

so he asked me to just it's okay, it's fine,

you know what, I can just pass up your work

that is almost complete, whatever it is, whatever can finally

just pass out. And I thought, my lectorities, look, you

know if I just handing the work that's half finished,

then what's the purpose of the work.

You know what I mean.

I will not give you a work that is incomplete.

You know that it's half finished. And so I told

my lecture, look, if you can't give an extension, it's okay.

I'll make sure I finish it with my best before

I hand it up, even though it may be late.

And so I in, yeah, I sub me to my

If I be late, I think about.

Two or three days. I got deducted marks for it.

But I stand here to testify before you that I

still got very good marks with Wi Fi PI even

though I submitted late and my lectures didn't want to

give the extension, you know, but I gave my best

because I told my lecturer, No.

I will not.

I would not forge a document to get an extension,

neither with us handing the work that's incomplete.

And I'll keep my best, and so I prayed it.

At the moment my lecture caught something from me and

another another testimate testimony in my marketplace is that you know,

me and my and my boss, we are Christens in

the marketplace, Me and my and my construction manager.

And we used to work and we always give our

best in our work.

And one fine day, my project manager called me into

his office and he's a Malay and he asked me

this very simple question.

He asked me, can I ask you a question now?

Uh, why are you and this other boss, my construction

manager a little bit different from the others, you know?

I told him.

I told him, of course, I knew what he was

trying to say. He was trying to say that our

attitude or our work ethics was different. I told him, boss,

you know what I have listen called an earthly boss,

But I have my heavenly boss, you know. And I

and when I work, I work first until God first,

my boss in heaven first, and then after my boss

after that to my boss here on earth, and so

I told him I do everything as unto God first

and then onto men.

And then he replied was, oh, that's why it is different,

you know.

So I pray that you and I, as we continue

to live our lives, maybe be different in that sense

when I'm saying different meaning you carry the spirit of excellence.

You carry God's spirit in you that when people see you,

they can tell that you are different. You carry the

spirit of excellence, just how Daniel did ten times better

than the others. So I live by the simple, you know,

live your lives in such a way that people will

glorify your Father in heaven when they see the good

works that you do. And so every time I'm stopped

by a police by something that I did wrong, and

as you know, sometimes police will ask you some questions.

You know, they asked you many many questions, and they're

trying to get somewhere. And one of the famous sayings

that I would awfully say at the start is I'm

a Christian. And most of the time the bodies will

say was say, oh Christna, okay, give you someone ship.

They wouldn't they won't ask anything for the you know why,

they know that Christians won't give a bride.

I prayed it we will carry that testimony. Amen.

I praid we were carried a testimony because it happened

to me. It happened to me, and I was still

a young youth, and I was I and I was

read my my youth counselor driving the church.

You were late for worship practice.

And I think my youth counselor happened to take a

turn that was wrong, illegal, and the police stopped him

and asking where are we going? Uh, that means going

to church. He's like, oh, going the church. So he

immediately you there we are Christens. And of course, by

God's grace, the police said you can go, because otherwise

I ask more questions and and and got longer. And

you know where it is going. At ypraated you and I.

You were stand firm. We'll be rerived in our conduct,

in the way that we live. They were glorified our

fire and have an amen colation. Chapter two, verse twenty

two to twenty four says, whatever you do, come on,

whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord

and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you

will re see the reward of inheritance for yourself the

Lord twice. Amen, remember this, Whatever did you do in

your school, in your campus, in your marketplace, at home,

whatever they do, and you wake up and you see

when you eat, when you do your work, do it

as unto the Amen. The third one is love. We

arrived in love, love for God and love for people.

First of all, you and I need to experience the

love of God. And when we experience the love of God,

we love him in return. And when we love him

in return, we can't help but to love others as

well around us.

Because God is love a man. God is love.

And it's a saying why people don't care how much

you know until they know how much you care. That's

why love is powerful. It's a universal language. It transcends,

It transcends skin color, race, religion, status, it doesn't matter,

you know. I'm reminded by the story of the good Samaritan,

you know, and the others who walk past. Who was

supposed to help didn't help.

You know that.

I think it was a priest or Levi. They were

supposed to help most people. I think they would have out,

but they did not help. But they took a man,

you know, a good Samaritan, a different kind to help.

And I pray that you and I will be like that.

We will show love to people around us, especially those

who is who are harder to love, who are harder to.

To I mean, need to socialize with, you know.

I still remember in my days as a cap student,

I used to help some of my friends in their studies.

Now I myself was struggling, but I was trying to

help those who are struggling worse than me. And it's

not easy, you know, because they come to us for help.

Maybe they went to many other people and people didn't

want to help them. So I said, okay, let me

have you. So we were helped this one or two

guys who will sit in the middle, and my brother

and whatever I can, whatever I have ready, I'll teach

you and at least I can bring you up to

where I am, you know. And I was also struggling

and also trying to push forward. So come on, maybe

show love to those around us. First John, chapter four,

verse seven to eleven says First John four seven to

eleven believed let us love one another, for love is

of God, and everyone who loves is born of God

and knows God. He who does not love does not

know God. For God is love. In this the love

of God was manifested towards us. That God has sent

his only begotten son into the world that we might

live through him. In this is love, not that we

loved God, but that He loved us and send his

son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, If

God's soul loved us, we also ought to love one another.

So what does the revived youth look like? One who

loves God and loves others, especially those who are lost,

and especially those who you need. The next point is

is the next one in spirit? We rivee in spirit,

and so spirit in another word, A simple word that

can think of is attitude. And this word spirit in

this context is actually in Greek it means numa okay,

which means breath or breeze, or it means a rational soul.

But there's this one meaning in the concordance that actually

means a vital principle. And so what does our spirit

actually mean? What does this word spirit he mean? We

arrive in spirit it means in our principle in life.

It means our attitude in life. The question is this

what is our attitude towards God, especially with people around us,

to those around us in front of others, you know,

when when when they see us? Because my next question

will ask us this. Would they be drawn by our

attitude towards God? Would they be drawn by your attitude

towards God? Because if they don't see anything good about

our attitude towards God, then they won't be drawn to

your God, don't you think so?

Would they be attracted? Is there anything that attracts them?

Because I still remember very clearly when I was a student,

I would go to all the perservices, you know, and

sometimes when we have group meetings or grood discussion, during

the persevice, start asked them we can we shift the

meeting a little bit. I'll go to persevice and I

come back. And sometimes in the middle of a meeting

I had to leave earlyer go to perseve. I told them,

don't I finished it, wor come back? And I did

it anyway, And some of my friends thought I was crazy.

You know that I was still able to commit to church,

go be to per service, to church on a Sunday,

to homes and yes, still be able to finish my work.

So I want encourage us. Maybe we rerived in our spirit.

I'm talking about our attitude, our attitude towards God and

the things of God. So asked herself this question. Do

we have a good attitude at work? Do we have

a good attitude in your class? Or are we always

keeping class?

You know?

Will your friends be drawn to you? So Paul is

reminding Timothy and reminding us today. Maybe be a good

example in our spirit. Maybe be a good example in

our attitude in life, more importantly towards God and towards

other things, because there will show whether we are a

good example or not. And so I still remember when

I was I went to the US, United States, you know,

for a work con travel for three months, and I

have this princip in my life that I wouldn't keep

a Sunday worship service. You know, I really believe that

Sunday is set apart for the Lord, and I will

do my very best to make it to church on

a Sunday, no matter what, whether it's exam, whether it's

way no time, red's that's there's projects, fip, whether there's work.

Sometimes I'm caught to work on a Sunday in construction.

Some of you will know that, uh, and I will

tell my boss, Okay, I really need to go to church.

I'll go to church and I'll come back after that.

And it's happened before. So when I was in the

US working, Sunday was a work day, Okay, Sunday was

a work day for us. Because Sunday's a weekend, it's

more packed, the team park is more packed. But I

really really wanted to go to church, and I made

it a point to go to church on a Sunday,

even when I was on a different in the foreign country.

So I told my boss, told my manager, Look, manager,

I really need to go to church on a Sunday.

And first of all, he was shocked, uh that as

an Asian I wanted to go to church. He thought

America was a more Christian country, you know, but this

Asian dude was to go to church on a Sunday.

I'm like, yes, I need to go church on a Sunday, Okay,

but I still need to work, Okay, I understand. So

I would come earlier in the morning to set up

the store, and when another stuff comes in, I'll go,

I'll leave and I'll go to church. I'll rush the

church finish, I rushed back to work and continue working

at about twelf noon, and so I asked my manager

for for permission, and his answers shocked me, you know.

He said, Wow, he's never gotten such a request before.

And he said, because you have asked, and because you

had dead principle in your heart to ask for it,

he will allow it to happen. So he said, you

can go heavy Sunday, you can go to church, and

after church come back to work. And so my point is, Liza,

when people see your spirit or your attitude towards God, right,

they will begin to be amazed, you know. Uh.

And I prayed that the Lord give you a faith.

They will give you favor because they see that you

have a principle in life, a vital principle or attitude

towards the things of God. And because he told me right,

because I was responsible enough to ask for it, and

because I was responsible and now I had the principle

to go to church on a Sunday, he later on

appointed me to be a manager or like a supervisor

over my store. You know, because if you can be

responsible over important things, your bosses know that they can

trust you over bigger things, and I pray there be

an encouragement for you, especially if you're if you're young.

My FAF points is faith, faith rearrived in faith, and

faith basically just means our trust in the Lord.

Put your whole trust, your surrender to God.

Roman chapter eleven, verse one tells us now faith is

a substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things

not seen, and maybe live our lives as a good

example revived in our faith. The Bible tells us that

without faith it is impossible to please God. So we

know for sure that when we have faith, we are

pleasing God. And the Bible also tells us that without faith,

so faith without works is dead.

And so if you have faith but have no works,

it is still it's dead. It's of no use.

And I was encouraged believe us both young and old.

It doesn't matter how old you are. You know, I

was encouraged you able to work out your faith, put

your faith to the test, you know, because how would

you know that your faith really works unless you put

it to the test.

Have you ever put your your life?

Have you ever been put in a situation whereby you

deth pretty needed God to intervene because if you haven't,

you have really never worked out your faith. You have

never put your faith to the test. Exercise your faith,

otherwise you will be an obest Christian. Put your faith

to the test, work it out.

And so I'm I'm a kind of.

Person that would rather put myself in a position where

I need God in desperation, rather than in a place

of complacency where I say God, I don't need you.

I can do everything myself. I can handle everything my own.

And that pace of complacency is very dangerous. And so

I would rather be in a place of need of

the Lord when I need to put by my faith

I trust in Him, than be in a pace of complacency.

And so I can share many stories in acts, you know,

even in so many and all the different plans where

students go for missions, they go by faith, even though

they have an assignment, even though they have exams coming out,

they go by faith because they trust.

In the Lord.

So I want to encourage you exercise your faith. Put

yourself in a position that you truly need the trust

God to come true for you. Put your faith to

the test. Because the ect change was built by faith

and obedience to the Lord. We truly live by faith.

We did.

I still remember in early days our church was filled

with campus students, only campus students, and we needed to

raise funds, you know.

To buy a building.

I think it costs one or one million or something

of that fill with campus students, can you imagine. But

yet our pastor had faith and obedience to the Lord

to do it because God told him so and he

did it.

And students will give out of faith to the Lord.

And we also read the trust God by faith that

He will provide, and so we live by faith. I

feel it our young people that even as you are,

you know, don't let us despise your youth, that you

will be reviving your faith in the Lord.

Amen.

The last point is this we arrive in purity, and

purity just means to be set apart for God.

Now, purity is something that is not.

Talked about a lot these days because it's not easy

to talk about it. But I'll let you know it

is more important than ever before in these last days

because oh, there are a lot of nonsense and fresh

online these days and as on social media, and it's

more accessible than ever before. And I pray it as

young people who are revived in the Lord, that we

will revive our purity in the Lord. To remember that

God is holy, and we also ought to desire holiness

in our life, to be set apart for Him. And

so if you're struggling in some form of addiction, you

know and you're not part of it, you're a shamed

by it, you feel guilty. I will let you know

that really is we can be set free, and we

can find a clue in a Bible no found in

James Shepter four, verse seven to eight, which says James

Chapter four, verse seven to eight says, therefore, submit to God.

Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw

near to God and he will draw near to you.

Cleanse your hands, your sinners, and purify your hearts. You

double minded. So in this book of James, it's like

straight point blank, you know, like straight to the point.

Three quick things we can learn from this Number one,

submit to God. First of all, come to the place

to recognize the God. I need you, and I can't

do this on my own. Most of the time. The

reason why we fall into temptation is because we say it,

I can do it. If we started by saying I

can do it you already feel, because the enemy always

comes to attack us when we are alone. There's the

there's the work of the enemy. When he goes for

a prey, he goes after those that are alone.

You know.

The predator always attacks the prey when they're alone. And

so if you started by saying I can hit on

my own, we already feel. The key is to submit

first to God, and then number two is resist the devil,

and he will flee from you. Resist the devil, and

after re see the devil draw near to God, and

God will draw near to you. So I pray that

we will, truly, you know, take our purity to another

level where we break free from any form addiction. You know,

addiction in last, addiction, in photography, addiction, in whatever you

can name it. You know the things of this world,

and I think it's now we're seeing city, you know, like,

do not be confirmed to the patterns of this world,

but be re new in your mind. So every day

we need to continue to read his word. And that's

why in this same partial scripture, it tells us where

to meditate on this right the teaching the doctrine. Meditate

on it so you will be saved, and those who

hear you will also be saved. That's how we you

and I need to be need to overcome the temptations

that we have in this world and in friends. This world,

there are many temptations, more than ever before.

You and I.

In order to overcome these temptations, we need to meditate

on the Lot instead, meditate on him. Philipin chapter four,

verse eight, tells us, finally, Braduan, whatever things are true,

whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things

are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of

good report, if there is any virtue, and if there

is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things.

Meditate on these things.

And so if you continue to meditate on the Word

of God, we continue to meditate on good things, things

that are pure, we will be able to overcome. So

I always encourage young people, and of course everyone of

every age. You know, be careful what you watch, because

even influence you. Be careful what you watch. Be careful

or the friends that you hang out with you will

influence you. Be careful with the things that you do.

You know, I heard someone say this, you know, you know,

I think show me their friends and the books that

that read. And you know what kind of person they

will be. You know, so we watchful because if you

continue to meditate on things that are impure, continue many

things that are evil, meditate on things that are last fool,

they will continue the bill by pray that you and

I will be set apart for God. That's what holy

actually means, set apart, to be set apart for Him. Amen,

goen invited wash you did to come out. Even as

I draw to a close, I'm going to bring our

attention back to the same verse I started off with

the first imatit of the four.

And so Paul tells Timothy and to us today. He

tells them to.

Give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine, meditate on

these things, and worse fifteen says are meditate on these things,

give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be

evident to all. And as I close, this is a

very think that you need to remember. You forgot everything.

Remember this. There are sometimes in life and we question

why things are not working out the way we expect

it to be, or we question God, why.

You have not answered a prayer? You're not being there

with us.

We we question things, and sometimes we question why things

don't work out the way we expected it to be.

And I think that this could be a hint on

why it could be because it says, give.

Yourself entirely to them, and then it says that your

pogus may be evident to all. So the key is

first to meditate on the things of God. Talks about

the doctrine, the things of God, the things that you

have heard, the things that you have learned in church,

and your daily chot time. Meditate on these things. And

when you meditate on these things, he says, give yourself

entirely to them. So sometimes the reason why we don't

see much result is maybe because we have not given

one hundred percent. Maybe we have not given one hundred

percent of ourselves to learn in the Word of God,

to desiring him, to being ruted in the church, to

knowing more of Him, to spending time with him.

Because if you truly took.

Your pursuit of God seriously and gave yourself entirely to it,

I'm very confident you will find the Lord.

And the Bible.

She tells us that your pogus may be evident to all,

and so on and encourage all of us yes today

and especially those who are younger in your faith. You know,

to pursue your faith. We fear and en frambling work

out your salvation. We fear and frambling said, Lord, I

want to pursue you all the days of my life.

I want to give a hundred percent to it, to

know your word, to living it out, to pursuing you.

When we give it a hundred percent, when you give

you entirely, yourself entirely to it, you will find progress.
