  1. You're listening to a message to go from axt church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day.

  3. And so the title my message to day the snights

  4. can come up is watch with me. Watch with me,

  5. and we're gonna read a key scripture for today. If

  6. ee can turn with me. I didn't put it up there.

  7. I just put a verse there Matthew, chapter twenty six,

  8. verse thirty six to forty six. Ever, I got your

  9. bibles e bibles or your physical bibles, turning me to

  10. Matthew chapter twenty six, verses thirty six to forty six,

  11. And this is the prayer in the garden of Gestsemone.

  12. If you're there, give me a year. We need a

  13. bit more time, say waiter Waida. It's on screen sport,

  14. really all on screen. Those thank your bible is good? Okay,

  15. you follow along as I read this verse the thirty

  16. six onwards, he says, then Jesus came with them to

  17. a place called Gethsemane and said to the disciples, sit

  18. here while I go and pray over there. And he

  19. took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee.

  20. You know who are the two sons of Zebedee, James,

  21. and John. Yes, signs are thunder, and he began to

  22. be sorrowful and deeply distressed.

  23. First thirty eight.

  24. Then he said to them, my soul is exceedingly sorrowful,

  25. even to death.

  26. Stay here and watch with me.

  27. He went a little further and fell on his face

  28. and prayed, saying, Oh, my father, if it is possible

  29. that this cart passed from me, nevertheless, not as I will,

  30. but as you will Verse forty Then he came to

  31. the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter,

  32. what could you not watch with me one hour? It

  33. was forty one, Watch and pray lest you enter into temptation.

  34. The spirit indeed is willing, but the the flesh is weak.

  35. Again a second time he went away and prayed, saying, oh,

  36. my Father, this cup cannot pass away from me unless

  37. I drink it.

  38. Your will be done.

  39. It was forty three, and he came and found them

  40. asleep again, for their eyes were heavy. So he left them,

  41. went away again and prayed the third time, saying the

  42. same words in verse forty five. Then he came to

  43. his disciples and said to them, are you still sleeping

  44. and resting? Behold the hour is at hand, and the

  45. son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise,

  46. let us be going see my betrayer is at hand.

  47. What did Jesus say, watch with me? The word watch

  48. in Greek is great good rit oh, great good at

  49. I don't know how to pronounce. Didn't study Greek, Okay, gregortt.

  50. And the definition is to be or become fully awake,

  51. to be vigilant, to watch a lot of times it

  52. speaks of spiritual vigilance.

  53. You know, in prayer.

  54. You can see it here He's he's saying, watch, watch,

  55. stay alert, you know, avoid temptations, stay awake.

  56. It is. It's active vigilance.

  57. You know, it's like shaking off spiritual spiritual latagia is right, like,

  58. that's why we're feeling this fast. It's half yr you know,

  59. spiritual attagi, being fully awake.

  60. It is.

  61. You know, a lot of times we see the world

  62. was used for being prepared for the Lord's returning. But

  63. in my context today and I'm speaking, is just being

  64. prepared for God's move whatever that may be, not just

  65. his return. Yes, we need to be prepared for his

  66. return and so but for him to move for you know,

  67. for his revival. We need to be preped head we're

  68. going to avoid spiritual complacency. And it's also used this

  69. word is also used in a military sense, like military God.

  70. And so it's suggesting that we as believers be on God,

  71. be like sentinels, like sentinels, like watchmen. Basically, and you

  72. see in verse forty one, right says watch and pray.

  73. Let's you enter into temptation. The spirit, indeed is willing,

  74. but the flesh is weak.

  75. You know, three times Jesus prayed. All three times.

  76. These are the closest disciples of Jesus, his best friends, right, Peter,

  77. James and John. They were with him all the time.

  78. They loved him. Jesus loved them. But at the most

  79. crucial hour they may have known it, they may have

  80. not known it, but they knew something was going on

  81. for sure. And yet they were found sleeping all three times.

  82. And he said, no, no, no, Jesus, I'll be for you.

  83. They said all these things, right, I will, I will

  84. die for you, you know, we won't leave you, and

  85. all that, and then they sleep. And when Jesus needed

  86. them most, you know, when he was in agony from

  87. the weight of the sin, of the world.

  88. We see how he was.

  89. He was praying until there was they say, right, it

  90. was like blood it came out, you know, like blood

  91. he was. He was carrying a weight and the sin

  92. of the world. He was in such agony, and yet

  93. his disciples we're sleeping, we're resting, and I'm sure the

  94. disciples desire was to be with him.

  95. Just like all of us.

  96. I think all of us. We want our hearts desires

  97. like Jesus. I want to be with you all the way.

  98. You know, I want to be involved in whatever work

  99. that you're doing. All our hearts are there, or at

  100. least want to be there. But just like the disciples,

  101. our flesh is weak. Always flesh is weak. We want

  102. to be faithful to Jesus. We want to continue his work.

  103. We know we don't want his his work got across

  104. to go to vain. Right now, we are the ones

  105. here on earth continuing his work. But how many times we,

  106. like the disciples, have failed, have fallen asleep. Yeah, our

  107. spirit is willing, but our flesh is weak. In a moment,

  108. we hit a problem, once we hit a discomfort, that's it,

  109. you know. We find ourselves in this like, oh God,

  110. I don't know what's going on.

  111. I'm tired. It's this this spiritual attagy.

  112. I mean, it makes it hard to even bring ourself

  113. to do your devotion, to pray, to read the Bible.

  114. Right when you go through those moments were really discouraged.

  115. You just be like staying in bit. How many have

  116. you been there?

  117. Yeah?

  118. I found myself a few times like that.

  119. Like just don't to face do to face the world,

  120. don't want to think about everything. And for women, our

  121. minds are continually working. Right, there's no such thing as downtime,

  122. and so even when not at work, I'm thinking about

  123. the people, continually thinking until the moment I.

  124. Dove to sleep. When I wake up, I'm thinking about

  125. it again. What can I say?

  126. Say?

  127. What?

  128. You know?

  129. Who can I Who else can I speak to? Who

  130. else can I? You know, try to turn the direction

  131. of this ship? And yeah, but it just seeps in,

  132. like Lord, I want to be on the ground, I

  133. want to be doing your work this year, but yet

  134. all this discouragement comes in and I fall into this

  135. spiritual ata.

  136. You know, the the.

  137. Disciples were probably physically tired yor probably also spiritually tired.

  138. I mean they knew something was going on, and persecution

  139. had already started, right, They knew people were out to

  140. get them, and they were out to get Jesus, and

  141. they would have been tired, and so they slept now

  142. first forty three, right, it says, and he came and

  143. found them asleep again. For their eyes were heavy. Their

  144. eyes were heavy. And I see, you know, in our lives,

  145. the reflection is, you know, this, this is what we

  146. go through. We could be physically tired, we mentally drained, burdened.

  147. Maybe I'm just carrying different burdens, stress, anxiety, all these

  148. things is what can cause us to sleep, physically sleep

  149. and also spiritually sleep, you know.

  150. And and I think that's what I've reflected, and that's

  151. what I've.

  152. Been feeling mostly this this quarter, tired, mostly mentally and

  153. mostly mentally tired, you know, like I said, continually thinking,

  154. muddling over what to say, what has has just been saying?

  155. What did this person say? What did that person say?

  156. How to strategize, you know, trying to come out with

  157. different ways, to try to come with different angles, you know,

  158. to approach this situation, like what else can I do?

  159. And I don't know for you. For me, it's a

  160. work situation for you. I don't know what it is.

  161. Could be a.

  162. Family, be your kids, be a marriage, be your business,

  163. your health. You know, something that is continually plaguing your

  164. mind as something that's bothering you and draining you. Has

  165. it caused your spiritual eyes to close? Because Jesus wants

  166. us to keep watch, to be religion, to be prepared

  167. for him right ready for his move. We keep talking

  168. about revival, you know, but are we prepared? Are we

  169. watching the Lord and keeping eyes on him? Or are

  170. we getting spiritually complacent? And I realized, you know, throughout

  171. this hole month, going through all these things, really it

  172. really sucks, sucks the life out of your line, It

  173. really drains you. But I realized that that's not the

  174. main thing. That's not what life is about. God has,

  175. you know, probably all these plans and He's working and

  176. doing things, and yet my eyes can be blinded from it.

  177. But I'll share a bit more in a bit. So

  178. we talked about some some of that tiredness and someone's

  179. could be going through that. We see a different angle

  180. in Luke. So Luke Chapter twenty two was forty five.

  181. I think I had the verse up there right, Yeah,

  182. So he says, when he rolls up from prayer and

  183. had come to his disciples, he found them sleeping from sorrow.

  184. So Luke keptures it that they were sorrowful. And I say, no,

  185. we are so, we're so sad. We just want to

  186. sleep the day way right, We can be just down emotionally.

  187. We are depressed, discouraged, disturbed, like give you all these there,

  188. but all these things can just make us. I just

  189. want to sleep. I don't do anything. I don't even

  190. think about it, you know, just close your eyes and

  191. I mean both again, spiritual eyes, physical eyes, just to

  192. get away, you know, from these problems. And yeah, the

  193. disciples were sorrowful, and so they they fell asleep. And

  194. when I was reflecting on this and I rewind back

  195. and I think about September five, so last year, September,

  196. that's when that's when I had, you know, experience while God,

  197. you you do it impossible. You know, when I wanted

  198. to when I thought I need to either be in

  199. full time or in the marketplace.

  200. God actually opened the door to let me be in both.

  201. So still being in the marketplace, still working, you know,

  202. in my company, and at the same time being able

  203. to go into yn pursue something that's that's on my

  204. heart and many streets on my heart, and you.

  205. Know it, it's really got favor.

  206. I mean, how many bosses that you can you reduce

  207. your working day, you can do whatever you want still

  208. be employed. So that happened. And what started off as

  209. a testimony, right a launch a launch out like a

  210. step outline I think, into into my calling and into

  211. what I've been dreaming about over time, like I said,

  212. it became like what am I doing? God, I don't

  213. see much impact. I don't see you know, there's no

  214. big waves of anything, you know, just like trading to

  215. be here, a little bit there.

  216. And and work.

  217. Like I said, right things it felt like things were

  218. crumbling my CEO change. I don't know how this this

  219. new person is going to be, Like what's he's gonna

  220. what's his vision going to be?

  221. And my mind became just consumed with all of this.

  222. And I hardly talk about it at homesoever say yeah,

  223. I don't talk about it because already thinking about it

  224. so much. Right, it's like a dark cloud over my head,

  225. uh everywhere, And so I find I'm just a be

  226. quiet quiet or in the days ministreet that ministry, We're

  227. still coming. You know, we still give we still give

  228. out all uh and then but when your own you know,

  229. the thoughts will still plague me.

  230. How do I stop this from happening? Et cetera.

  231. And like I said, but even through this time, you know,

  232. the Lord, especially when yeah, those two announcements came out,

  233. then the Holy Spirit really spoke to me and asked

  234. me this and asked me to look look at the

  235. things that He's been doing. And I'll share a bit more.

  236. But because I'm going through this discouragement instead of watching

  237. for a revival and looking at God's hand prints, right,

  238. He's moved at work and anywhere else in ministry. Because

  239. I'm feeling heavy and sorrowful. You know, it's like my

  240. spiritual eyes are closing. I don't see it.

  241. And it feels like at that time, that's the main

  242. thing that you're struggling with.

  243. Like I say, it's like as if it's the main

  244. agenda whatever you're going through. So it can feel like

  245. the main agenda in your life, but actually it's not.

  246. It's not right. God's work it's the main agenda.

  247. What he is doing is the main and genda is

  248. his kingdom, his kingdom, and he's still moving.

  249. He's always moving, whether.

  250. We are moving or not. And to ask myself, am

  251. I moving with him? Or am I just stuck here

  252. looking at this big mountain right? He's moving, he's you know,

  253. can I recognize his work?

  254. Do you recognize his work?

  255. Even in the mundane or even in the difficult times?

  256. And when I started reflecting on all that has taken

  257. place in this past half a year, then I start

  258. recognizing God's hand upon things even throughout this time. So

  259. I want to bring you through and I share a

  260. bit more, you know, at one of the points about what.

  261. The things that have taken place.

  262. But I want to bring you through three points and

  263. three w's today three sub points a out of the

  264. first or you know, watch with me.

  265. But the first W.

  266. Is wake up, Wake up. Ephesians chapter five, verse fourteen says.

  267. Therefore he says, awake you who sleep, arise from the dead,

  268. and Christ will give you light. Romans thirteen eleven. Just

  269. give you some verses that Romans thirteen eleven says, and

  270. do this knowing the time that now it is high

  271. time awake out of sleep. For now our salvation is

  272. nearer than we first believe believe it. Say amen, amen,

  273. tell your neighbor wake up. They are the neighbor. Bang on,

  274. bang on.

  275. To chimukah.

  276. Kay. And then mark mark Chapter thirteen, verse thirty six

  277. is thirty seven.

  278. It says, this is a enalty version.

  279. Don't let him find you sleeping when he arrives without warning,

  280. because this is talking about jesus second coming. I say

  281. to you what I say to everyone, watch for him.

  282. But it's not just about it's coming. It's about his move.

  283. So what is he doing this year? We don't want

  284. to miss out. It's like the year passes in there

  285. like God, I didn't see your move. You know, I

  286. completely missed it. We don't want that, right, So that's

  287. the first point. I want us to search our hearts check.

  288. I'll walk with the Lord. We recognize what are those

  289. things that are causing us to sleep, to feel like

  290. what we want to sleep, Recognize the things that are

  291. making us the tgic spiritually. And I know they can

  292. be very very valid reasons, very valid. But when Jesus comes,

  293. when he moves and we miss it.

  294. The reasons will be irrelevant.

  295. Right. You can give the reason, but what can you

  296. do is past is done. You know he has come.

  297. So what's the first point? Wake up, let's wake up,

  298. let's wake up. Let's open our spiritual eyes. I see

  299. what what are you doing?

  300. And second? Second, w is we wrestle not against flesh

  301. and blood?

  302. First Peter five US eight says, be sober, be vigilant again,

  303. it's that same Gregoria okay, Gregorial, sorry, same root word.

  304. Be vigilant, Be watchful because your adversary, the devil.

  305. Who's the adversary? The devil? Okay, not your boss, not

  306. your cleage, not your subordinate adverse.

  307. Really, the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking

  308. whom he made divar. There's a song that says the

  309. enemy roams like a roaring lion. Don't even know this song,

  310. looking for the sleeping, looking for the sleeping. Who's ald

  311. enough to know Tuila peris? Or look at me, who's

  312. that Ula Peris? And I used to like her songs? Yeah,

  313. but I always remember that that lion. You know, the

  314. enemy roams like a roaring lion, looking for the sleeping.

  315. And so if we are not watchful, if we're sleeping,

  316. we're easy targets for the enemy.

  317. But what what from does it come in. It comes in.

  318. You know, he's not gonna be standing there beside you, right,

  319. the enemy won't do that. Usually it comes with all

  320. kinds of right in your work and your health, and

  321. your relationships in your family. And through all this for me,

  322. through all this fighting with management, fighting with the decisions,

  323. disagreeing with staff, et cetera, you know, I've had to

  324. recognize that, Hey, they are not my enemy. They are

  325. not my real enemy. At the end of the day,

  326. is the devil that's been trying to rob me off

  327. my my purpose, my calling, my confidence, my peace, my joy,

  328. all these things. That's what the enemy's trying to rock

  329. from us. Right at the end of the day, whatever

  330. you're going through, that's what enemy is trying to You

  331. can still kill and destroy, right, my sleep I still

  332. I still can sleep, thankfully. But my piece, my joy,

  333. and my confidence and the people that's that's around those

  334. are just distractions, right, They're they're not the real enemy.

  335. So recognize that we wrestle not against flesh and blood.

  336. No matter what you're going through, recognize what is it

  337. behind what spirit is behind it all? What's it trying

  338. to rock from you? What's it trying to get from you. Thirdly,

  339. the w this was so important for me to recognize.

  340. Lookout for his works. I said, he's working. He's always working.

  341. Even when we don't see it, we don't feel it,

  342. he's working. John five, verse seventeen says, but Jesus answered them,

  343. My father has been working until now, and I have

  344. been working. Our Father, our heavenly Father, has been working

  345. all this time. And Jesus is working, and the Holy

  346. Spirit is working. So look out for his works. Even

  347. when it's one dana and feels like nothing's happening, look

  348. out for those little things.

  349. He is working.

  350. And even when we lose focus, even when our own

  351. eye is closed.

  352. Right, God is still working.

  353. And it's whether we recognize it or not, and whether

  354. we get involved in it, whether we are the one

  355. stepping in to God's work. I love this verse Psalms

  356. one hundred and twenty one versus three. It says, he

  357. will not allow your foot to be moved. He who

  358. keeps you will not slumber.

  359. Hallelujah. Oh there's not slumber. It's our Lord. It's our

  360. Lord Jesus.

  361. And the word keep that is actually the Hebrew word

  362. that is you know it basically the same same root

  363. word as the Greek word gregorial okay by Shama in Hebrew,

  364. and it says it means to keep to God, to

  365. watch over and our father keeps us see gods or us,

  366. he watches over us. And you know, is it such

  367. an assurance that he will never slumber. We might slumber,

  368. he will never slumber. He will never.

  369. Sleep, And it's yeah.

  370. So I started, you know, through through this journey that

  371. I started recognizing God's hand his fingerprints.

  372. So many things.

  373. And let me try to name a few things that

  374. I look better, and like, wow, God, actually you were

  375. doing something. So through these exercise, you know, there were

  376. people that I was fighting for and trying to say,

  377. come here reasons why we shouldn't let this this you

  378. know role go or this person go. But over time,

  379. now that it's done, it's been announced, I realized that

  380. probably God allowed it because some of those people had

  381. to go. Why because the belongs that are coming up,

  382. you know, over the past few months, and I realized, actually,

  383. these are the toxic people. I didn't know that, you know,

  384. but different ones then started.

  385. Revealing to me.

  386. And this person has been talking like days or saying

  387. days and all that. I'm like, oh, I didn't know that,

  388. But God knows, right, he sees all things. When people

  389. are against you or say things about you, God knows

  390. you may not know, and so I saw you know

  391. God actually while actually so the people you know, there's

  392. only something that I know now. Of course the others

  393. I don't know. But maybe God has better plan for

  394. them elsewhere. And then there was one that really I

  395. was like, God, thank you Lord. So there's one colleague

  396. who is we wrote many years together, it's like fourteen

  397. twelve years maybe twelve years together, and the person is

  398. really good, you know, and what he does, but sometimes

  399. we don't see eye to eye or he didn't see

  400. with a lot or so. And so there was one

  401. season where it got really difficult, to a point where

  402. I'm like, I don't want to have I don't have

  403. the difficult conversation because it's going the wrong direction. But somehow,

  404. by God's grace, we managed to turn things around. You know,

  405. we had I had a very honest conversation with him,

  406. and things turn around. But with this, with this thing

  407. that came about, what I realized is we managed to

  408. have a peacefully That means it reached a point where

  409. he he's the one who decided that he, you know,

  410. wanted to take the package and go, and we didn't

  411. have to because it was still I mean, we did

  412. fix some things, but his line manager was still like Caddler,

  413. this guy is not not working in the same direction,

  414. So I don't think we should keep him on as

  415. a leader. But we didn't have to let him go

  416. because himself decided that he wanted to go. So yeah,

  417. I'm like, God, thank you, and and you know, because

  418. of that, it became a very very pleasant and peaceful departure.

  419. Actually we had a farewell, you know, and he was

  420. actually quite emotional about about leaving, and and.

  421. He was he was so thoughtful.

  422. He created a whole everyone in the whole team, and

  423. he made a like a photo montage.

  424. Thing with with.

  425. Like words, I mean he wrote some some were quotes

  426. and then some were like personal messages, but so thoughtful,

  427. and a lot of them were like, oh, I never

  428. knew this guy can do this kind of thing. But

  429. you know, it just became very nice departure and honoring departure.

  430. So like God, thank you know that it worked out

  431. that way. And then and through this also different ones

  432. you know, one of the closest ones to me, who's

  433. worked with me nineteen years now, also has decided, you know,

  434. I think it's it's time to go and and through that,

  435. and he's one of those that have been really praying

  436. for and reaching out to but just just never can

  437. never like seal the deal. You know, it's like a

  438. bit there, bit there. But again through through this discussion

  439. and it's a difficult decision for him to make, but

  440. again managed to share the gospel like just give you

  441. need Jesus, like you need Jesus, you know, just try

  442. him out.

  443. And different lives.

  444. There's been different conversations that have had you know that

  445. I noticed like, hey, God, you gave me those opportunities

  446. to share with them or to pray with them. And

  447. then there's this one. So this one guy, we've never

  448. really had many conversations, but then one one day, this

  449. was before the announcement. Then it came to me and

  450. told me about his health issues. So he had to

  451. go for a major surgery to lengthen his leg because

  452. one is shorter than the other and he was causing

  453. everything else to have a problem on his back and

  454. all that slip. This all because of the lake issue

  455. and knee issue. So he came to me to share

  456. and because he had to go and leave and all that, right,

  457. and so I just said, can I pray for you?

  458. So I prayed for him.

  459. Then he went, you know, to seek medical advice and

  460. things like that. So long story shot. He he was

  461. scheduled for surgery. And on the day that he was

  462. supposed to go for surgery, because I wanted to visit him,

  463. but because of timing, I couldn't.

  464. But he said, no, I'll come to the office. He

  465. can barely walk up.

  466. He's in this metal I don't know, rasting me that's

  467. holding and his own crutches. He said, no, I'll come

  468. to office. I just feel like I need I need

  469. to see you. I need you to pray for me.

  470. Not believer, And so he comes. He comes all the

  471. way from where I clang I think to Cyberjaya the morning,

  472. just so I can pray for him. Some of you

  473. are were standing here, so you don want to walk

  474. down right here o prayer. This is a pre believer,

  475. doesn't know Jesus personally, and he's like, no, I just

  476. need you to pray for me. He said, I don't

  477. know why. But I just need to see you before

  478. I go for surgery. And I got to share him

  479. the gospel as well, share with him about Christ. He said, yeah,

  480. when I was young, my friend took me to just before.

  481. But now, yeah, I believe all things. One of those lines, yeah,

  482. I need you know, he does. Usually they believe in

  483. all the God. So it's it's a bit hard. I've

  484. got to pray for him, minister to him. And he said, yeah,

  485. really I feel.

  486. The peace, you know. And the surgery went well and things,

  487. and then now he's recovering.

  488. But then I, yeah, I just start seeing how you

  489. known God open these doors again, I said, I hardly

  490. speak to but for some reason he came, you know,

  491. to speak to me, and then got this opportunity and

  492. he came all the way for prayer. And then one

  493. of the other things, I see God moving or so

  494. is checking my own heart. So so with one of

  495. the you know, let goes. There was disagreement and someone

  496. was quite bitter about it, say say quite hurtful things,

  497. you know to me, and and the human side is

  498. like I need to justify myself, like this is not

  499. my fault. No, it's not my decision, you know, I

  500. want to say all these things, and then I felt

  501. the Holy Spirit just generally stop me and say, it's okay,

  502. don't need to justify yourself. Like Jesus said, justify yourself

  503. just silently, silently went to the cross without you know,

  504. even fighting for his own rights.

  505. So it's okay. I just humbled myself at the.

  506. Opportunity to forgive and to forgive us extend grace, and

  507. then also ask for forgiveness, even though I didn't feel

  508. like it was my faultler, but just ask for forgiveness anyway.

  509. And so all these things I start seeing, you know,

  510. God's hand prince and fingerprints, I'm like, God, actually you

  511. are you are doing something. You know, there there is

  512. revival brewing even in my workplace, even I don't feel

  513. me and so many all these things happening. But actually

  514. there's been so many opportunities, you know, to even share,

  515. share what God has spoken to me, you know, how

  516. he's how he's comforted me, how he's he's assured me.

  517. I share this with the majority faith as well, and

  518. they asked you, okay, I mean they're on.

  519. Was actually very so.

  520. Then there's there's one one lady, she's so sweet. She

  521. just extended her arms and just you need a help,

  522. she said that. But she just did that because she knew,

  523. you know, everyone's like angry and all that. But she

  524. she kind of says that I would also be going

  525. through a tough time.

  526. So she just extended her heart.

  527. But I got to share with her, you know how

  528. how my God has encouraged me. So as I draw

  529. towards a close, I want us to, okay before that,

  530. so that the third point was what the third w.

  531. His works? Okay, look out for his works.

  532. And as I drove to close, I want us to

  533. read a story from the Old Testament. Second Kings. Yeah,

  534. if you missed any of the three wis is there? Okay,

  535. wake up, resta not against flesh and blood, and look

  536. out for his works. But we're going to read now

  537. from Second Kings Chapter two, verse one to fifteen. And

  538. this is the story of Elisha Elisha.

  539. It's Elijah and Elisha.

  540. Okay, so the guy version, yes, okay, So Second King

  541. said the two of verse one to fifteen, it says,

  542. and it came to pass when the Lord was about

  543. to take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind.

  544. Then Elijah went with Elijah from Gilgal. Then Elijah said

  545. to Elisha, stay here please, for the Lord has sent

  546. me to Bethel. But Elisha said, as the Lord lives

  547. and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.

  548. So they went down to Bethel.

  549. Verse three.

  550. Now the sons of the prophets who were Bethel came

  551. out to Elisha and said to him, do you know

  552. that the Lord will take away your master from over

  553. you today?

  554. And he said, yes, I know. Keep silent.

  555. There's a probably a polite way to say that. Then

  556. Elijah said to him. Elijah said to him, Elisha, stay

  557. here please, for the Lord has sent me on to Jericho.

  558. But he said, as the Lord lives and as your

  559. soul lives, I will not leave you.

  560. So they came to Jericho.

  561. It was five Now the sons of the prophets who

  562. were Jericho came to Elisha and said to him, do

  563. you know that the Lord will take away your master

  564. from over you today? So annoying going to keep asking it,

  565. So he answered, yes, I know, keep silent. Then Elijah

  566. said to him stay here please, for the Lord has

  567. sent me on to the Jordan. But he said, as

  568. the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will

  569. not leave you.

  570. So the two of them went on.

  571. Now was seven and fifteen men of the sons of

  572. the prophets went and stood facing them at a distance,

  573. while the two of them stood by the Jordan. Now

  574. Elijah took his mentle, rolled it up and struck the water,

  575. and he was divided this way and that, and then

  576. the two of them crossed over on dry ground. No,

  577. that sounds familiar like Moses verse nine. And so it

  578. was when they had crossed over that Elijah said to Elijah,

  579. ask what may I do for you before I'm taken

  580. away from you. Elisha said, please let a double portion

  581. of your spirit be upon me. So he said, you

  582. have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me,

  583. if you see me when I am taken from you,

  584. it shall be so for you. But if not, it

  585. shall not be so. In verse eleven. Then it happened

  586. as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot

  587. of fire appeared with horses of fire appeared.

  588. A chariot of fire appeared.

  589. With horses of fire, and separated the two of them,

  590. and Elijah went up by a whirl wind into heaven.

  591. In verse twelve. And Elisha saw it.

  592. He saw that happen, and he cried out, my father,

  593. my father, the chariot of Israel and his horsemen. So

  594. he saw him no more, and he took hold of

  595. his own clothes and tore them into two pieces. He

  596. also took up the mantle of Elijah that had fallen

  597. from him. And he went back and stood by the

  598. bank of the Jordan around verse fourteen, and he took

  599. the mental of Elijah that had fallen from him, struck

  600. the water and said, where is the Lord God of Elijah.

  601. And when he had also struck the water, it was

  602. divided this way and that, and Elishah crossed over. Now,

  603. when the sons of the prophets who were from Jericho

  604. saw him, they said, the spirit of Elijah rests on

  605. Elishah to meet him, and bowed to the ground before him.

  606. Elijhah was promised a double portion, but with the condition

  607. as long as he saw Elijah taken up in the

  608. chariot of fire.

  609. And so he was looking at Elijah the whole.

  610. Time, right, I don't want to miss it. When is

  611. he going to be taken? I don't want to miss it?

  612. And so he's looking at his master at all times.

  613. He's keeping his eyes on his master at all times.

  614. Away keeping our eyes on our lord and master at

  615. all times, as we might we might miss his move

  616. if we don't. Yeah, so what what are you looking at?

  617. What are you watching? You know, I'm reminded. It's quite funny.

  618. I was reminded of you know.

  619. V spots.

  620. They happened recently, and there was this one hundred meters

  621. race and for some reason, right, so it was a

  622. nice we went to help help international school, Hi s

  623. Indistry school. So there's nice, super nice new track, right,

  624. Olympic size retrick.

  625. I saw we were run with them or quite t

  626. after that. My link was.

  627. Beautiful anyway, So they had there, right one hundred meter

  628. run and for some reason, I don't you're there, you're

  629. seeing right, the kids kept running into each other's lanes. Know,

  630. they're quite far apart, right, they're like not like even

  631. one one what do you call this lane? Yeah, they're

  632. not even in one lane apart. They are two lanes apart.

  633. So like one kid and then empty lane and then

  634. one kid and all of them right, always end up

  635. like crashing do each other? You know, like can you

  636. see the line where But I realize it's funny because

  637. we are what are we doing when we're running a race?

  638. I'm sure they weren't looking at the finishing line. They

  639. looking at a friend. I kept running into each other

  640. and it happened a few times, not like once or twice,

  641. It's like at least three times. I'm like, what's going

  642. on with this?

  643. You're running? Sing it the wind blowing them or what? Yeah?

  644. Where where are we looking at? Are we looking at

  645. our friends? Or are we running in the race, you know,

  646. looking ahead at the finishing line and looking at our master.

  647. Then there's this other game called tower defense. It's created

  648. by coach Albert I think so it's it's like hula hopes.

  649. They build it looks like a little building building and

  650. these are for the primary and a lower primary. So

  651. they have to throw balls and like break down the tower.

  652. And so I noticed, right, one team they train the ball.

  653. Ever was listening when we're talking about tower defense to

  654. train the ball, and so the ball miss really right.

  655. It's like rolling away from the tower, and.

  656. Instead of looking at the oncoming balls, this kid keep.

  657. Looking at the ball that's going away.

  658. So I'm like what's not balls coming? You know, don't

  659. look at that one. That one is safe. It's not

  660. going to hit your tower. But I thought about it

  661. when I was writing this message, goes again, are we

  662. looking at the wrong thing? Basically, are we focusing on

  663. the right thing supposed to protect and block the balls

  664. from he that already look at the balls that are

  665. already rolling away. Let's not Let's not do that. Let's

  666. keep our eyes on Jesus. Hebrews, Chapter twelve, verse one

  667. to two. It says, Therefore, since we are surrounded by

  668. such a crowd of witnesses to the life of faith,

  669. let us strip away, strip off every weight that slows

  670. us down, especially the sin so that so easily trips

  671. us up, and let us run with endurance the race

  672. God has set before us. We do this by keeping

  673. our eyes on Jesus, the champion, who initiates and perfects

  674. our faith because of the joy awaiting him He endured

  675. across disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the

  676. place of honor beside God's thrown Let's continue to look

  677. unto Jesus. Keep our eyes on Jesus. Revival could be

  678. happening right now before eyes, and we can completely miss it. Right,

  679. if you're so caught up, if we're engrossing our own

  680. lives and what's happening in our lives, our troubles, even

  681. our vanities, o'ur come. But even we can miss what

  682. God is doing. And I print none of us will

  683. miss it, you know, I've been ah well. The last

  684. time when I spoke, I spoke about one rolled out

  685. book was oh, yeah, so I just read Matilda to

  686. my kids.

  687. Have you all read Matilda? So are you ready to?

  688. So she's like a phenomenon, right, she's this but you know,

  689. extra extra extraordinary child.

  690. But her parents completely missed it. They didn't see it.

  691. She's like a miracle standing there and they didn't see it.

  692. I think something like that. No, like God's working a

  693. miracle and we didn't see it because her eyes are closed.

  694. You're sleeping.

  695. Even Jesus when he was among the Jews, he was

  696. the prophet, side messiah that they'd been waiting for all

  697. this while, and they missed it. Only these twelve disciples,

  698. not that there were more than that followed Jesus, but

  699. the thousands of them, most of them missed it. They

  700. completely missed it. When it happened. They knew the prop

  701. and yet they were blinded. Right, they were so caught

  702. up with how they pictured the Messiah, to be caught

  703. up with religion. So for us as well, let's not

  704. be caught up, you know, in our own beliefs, our

  705. own fancies, our troubles, until we can miss God's work

  706. of revival in our lives and in our church, in

  707. our marketplace, in our nation. Amen, man ben, when you

  708. come up, so I urge you today this morning to watch,

  709. watch with me, watch with the Lord. Keep your eyes

  710. on our master. Let's stay awake, let's wake up if

  711. we are sleeping, Let's be vigilant.

  712. Let's be watchful. Let's be on God.

  713. You know.

  714. Just remember we don't wrestle with flesh and blood. Look

  715. Out for what is it? What is the enemy trying

  716. to steal from you? Look out for God's work. Look

  717. out for his work in the trials or in the

  718. mundane He's working. Let's keep our eyes on Jesus. Let's

  719. recognize the distractions. We don't want to miss his movie.

  720. We don't want to miss his anoying thing. We don't

  721. want to miss the double portion. Like Elishah is like,

  722. you know, keeping his eyes on Elijah. He didn't want

  723. to miss it, and he got it. And if you

  724. read the Bible, I mean Elijah, he's known for the

  725. battle on Mount Carmel. Right, bow that's that's like the

  726. big thing we remember Elijah fire coming down. But you

  727. read Elishah. There's many more accounts of miracles that Elishah performed,

  728. not such a big one like the Bowel story, but

  729. may need more. I mean he read to us end

  730. of his life. When he died, he was in a

  731. tomb and some some guy, I mean they I think

  732. they put him in his tomb because they're rushing, because

  733. the raiders some other people can protect them.

  734. They put the.

  735. Date men in the same tomb as Elisha. And when

  736. he touched his bones, he came to life. You know it.

  737. M M, just think right, see dat OsO miracle get?

  738. That's how powerful. That's the double.

  739. Portion anointing that he received from Elijah because he kept

  740. his eyes on his Master.

  741. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more
