You're listening to a message to go from acts church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
So this morning, the title of the message is what's
-
my Agreement? And I'm going to be sharing with you
-
the parable of the vineyard. Okay, the Lord calling workers
-
into the vineyard. Okay, let's go, Matthew chapter twenty, reading
-
from verse one. For the Kingdom of Heaven is like
-
a landowner who went out early, that's about six am
-
in the morning, okay, to hire laborers for his vineyard. Now,
-
when he had agreed with the laborers for denarius a day,
-
he sent them into his vineyard. Now, if you remember
-
the last time, I shared with you that when Jesus
-
spoke to the Jews, he did not refer to God
-
as God. And that's why they used the term the
-
Kingdom of Heaven. When they used the Kingdom of Heaven,
-
it is because they held the reverence to the word God.
-
So God is like or God is a man that
-
went out into They would not do such a thing,
-
all right, So what did he do? He spoke to
-
them in a language they understood. Remember I covered this
-
the last time. And also you got to know something.
-
This was because the Jewish people revered the name of God.
-
They held the name of God in such high esteem.
-
So Jesus was not going to stop that. They were
-
doing that one right. So because they did that one right,
-
why would he want to change it? So he spoke
-
to them in the language they understood, the Kingdom of God,
-
Kingdom of Heaven. Sorry, so Jesus is speaking in the
-
way people understood. He was not going to undermine one
-
of the only things that were getting They were getting right.
-
God's name is paramount number one. Jesus was giving an
-
insight into who God was. And God is all right now,
-
the owner went out early in the morning. I want
-
you to know God is active, all right. God is active?
-
And who here says that God is slow to act?
-
You there not say, eh, okay, how many of you
-
believe sometimes that God is slow to act? Sure, hence
-
I believe sometimes God is slow to hegt. But I
-
want you to know. Scriptures telling me you know what
-
God is working? God is working early suggests that what
-
we deem as slow is lacking and understanding of what
-
God is. And God is already moving. Do you realize
-
that when God gives an answer, there's only three answers,
-
he gives okay. You know what are the three answers? Yes, no, no,
-
Wait he doesn't say yes no, maybe okay, yes no
-
and wait now praise the Lord I He has not
-
said no, even though yes not said yes. Do you
-
realize that that He's already given you an answer? See?
-
We fail to understand this. If we praise it God,
-
I want a Lamborghinea. God said no, I give you
-
a protraon saka. God said no. Or God can say yes,
-
go and get it tomorrow. He can say yes. But
-
if he doesn't answer, wait, no, isn't that an answer?
-
See you and I miss it? So this is what
-
I get now. When it says God early in the morning,
-
it means God is always working. God is taking care
-
of issues even when we don't see it. Morning suggests
-
this the first thing on God's mind. Wow, the first
-
thing on God's mind the morning. What's the first thing
-
on God's mind? God was looking for workers for his vineyard.
-
The landover was looking for workers, and I'm saying the
-
land owners God, in case you don't know, right. So
-
God is looking for workers for his vineyard, all right,
-
So God wants people involved in his work. You know
-
that God wants you involved in his work. If God wanted,
-
he could just say, field of vineyards, have grapes, and
-
you would already see grapes on the vineyard, on the vines.
-
Have you seen grapes on the vines I have on
-
the slopes of Germany? Oh? Very nice. They won't let
-
you pluck, no matter how nice it is. They won't
-
let you pluck. But it looks pretty, looks good. But
-
is that the way God works? You may say God
-
cannot do, but you want to know something God can do,
-
but he wants you involved. God can do, but he
-
wants you involved. That's such a wonderful thing that God
-
wants simple all ears to be involved in his plan.
-
So remember this statement. God's plan is our purpose. God's
-
plan is our purpose. So now you know it's not
-
just halves. We always think that God is only interested
-
in the house. Do you know that? Wow? The hovest
-
pray for the to the Lord of the house that
-
he sends laborers into the field. Wow, hows on it.
-
But let me tell you, before the house, there's a vineyard.
-
You know, before there's a house, what is it? There
-
is the preparation of the ground, guys, you came for service.
-
Everything was here. You didn't have to set this up. No,
-
you came magically, just here. Does the mics already ready?
-
The projector was in place, the notes were already up
-
on the screen. Did it walk that way? No? Somebody
-
had to come in prepare the ground. Somebody had to
-
prepare the ground. Or service has been prepared today? Okay,
-
that's one number two. Then there's the planting. What is
-
the I'm planting now, I'm planting seeds in your heart.
-
I'm sharing the word of God. I hope to get
-
it into your spirit. What am I doing? I'm planting
-
the word. After the planting comes out of the watering. Hey,
-
what is the watering? The watering is the care all right?
-
The care for saying, not the gathering of scens. You're
-
watered all right. What is fertilizing? Oh, fertilizing You mean
-
to say the plant just grows? Can What is the
-
difference between good plants and bad plants? Fertilizer? I mean
-
if you eat rice every day and only rice, no vegetables,
-
No mean, you only eat rice, you will look like
-
one big rice, That's all you will look at. Probably
-
the heir would have fallen out because no nutrients, skin
-
will be bloochy. You know you be fat, but you
-
won't you'll be weak. Why no muscle, no protein to add.
-
There has to be some fertilizing, all right, we come together,
-
we fertilize. Then there is the pruning. What is the pruning? Well,
-
you know, fertilizing and pruning his disciple shape. Guys, You
-
and I think we can just do it, Alona. That
-
means God doesn't know what he's talking about. So are
-
we calling God a liar? And he says, go ahead,
-
make disciples of all nations. Did you say, God make believers? Hey,
-
God is in the business of making believers. You and
-
I we have to concentrate on making disciples. So either
-
you're right or God is right. Who is it? God
-
is right? Nah? If God is right, we are not.
-
What is God right about making disciples? All right? So
-
we don't want to be disciples. We don't want pruning
-
in our lives. We don't want fertilizing to take place.
-
Then we're telling God a Lielah, we say, God, you
-
don't know what you're talking about. I know my own way.
-
Oh that's not it. Okay, Then there's the protecting, there's
-
the harvesting. What is but you just leave a plant there,
-
you just throw the seat. What does the Bible say
-
the birds will come and eat it? You protected recovery?
-
How do you protect it? Worship? You protect worship till
-
all these things then comes the harvest. So you got
-
to understand that God is not just interested in the harvest,
-
which is the fruit of all the work that is done.
-
God is interested in working the land. Okay, so now
-
they agreed, or he agreed? What was the pay? One denarious?
-
You know what it is? A denarious? Denarious today's equivalent
-
to fifteen loaves of bread. How many loaves of bread
-
you can eat one day? Maybe one? Law la? Huh,
-
So you've got a family of four four loaves love.
-
You were given enough. You were given a little bit
-
more than enough. You were not given exact amount, is it?
-
There's exact a little bit more, there's extravagant. The pay
-
was enough? One denarious was a day's which which could
-
feed a family, could give them some wine for the day,
-
you know, some of the basic needs. That was what
-
So they won't pull Okay, God never takes advantage, So
-
now he agreed. What does scriptures say? I want you
-
to draw close attention to this word now when he
-
had agreed with the laborers, So who made the requests
-
for one in areas? Did you ever realize you think
-
God offered one d in areas? If we understand what
-
God is all about, God wants to give us everything,
-
But our minds are small, our vision is small. They
-
asked him for wan denarreas and he said yes. So
-
who agreed? God agreed? So he agreed. It was a
-
negotiated sum to bike agreement means you have to ask
-
because I'm gonna work for you. You go for a job.
-
You just whatever they give you. You take a okayeay?
-
I want you to work twelve hours a day. I'll
-
pay you five ring it a day. You'll work for
-
that kind of job? One man, how much will you
-
get five times to have sixty ring it? But you
-
work twelve hours a day, you'll you'll work better? You won't?
-
Is you say? Are you crazy? I got transport, I
-
got toll I got petrol, I got food to eat,
-
I gotta put house over my head. I got it.
-
Then you will work out something I want so much
-
per man you give it to me. I'll work for you. You negotiate.
-
That's the way where it was. So you get sent
-
after an agreement and not before. You know why a
-
lot of people are not sent because they haven't agreed.
-
They haven't agreed in the terms. You only get centered here.
-
M I send me, but you have to agree to
-
the terms first. There has to be an agreement between
-
God and you on the terms. So this is why
-
you may be called but not sent. Many of us
-
are called, but we are not sent because we do
-
not agree with the terms. I do not agree with
-
waking up every morning on a Sunday, coming putting all
-
these instruments down here to worship the Lord, and then
-
after they've got to take it all down and send
-
it back. That's why I don't want to join the
-
music ministry. You didn't agree to the terms. Man, those
-
are the terms. That's the job. What is the reward
-
you bless the Lord? He gets happy and pleased with you.
-
And what does the Bible say about God blessing you?
-
He just wants to bless you and bless you and
-
bless you with his grace his power. Okay, got that part. Okay,
-
let's move on verse three. To verse five. Okay, and
-
he went out about the third hour. Third what is
-
the third? Third hour? Is now nine am, So you're
-
not six am. Now it's nine am. I'm gonna tell
-
you something you will not like to hear. What is
-
one work day in the Lord? Twelve hours? You read
-
from the start of the day six am to the
-
end of the day, twelve hours. So how many of
-
you work twelve hours a day? Don't put up your hands?
-
How many of you like to work twelve hours a day?
-
Who likes to work? Now? Work nine hours a day?
-
Must have Saturday off? Don't have Saturday off? Don't want
-
to work nine now, cracknaut truth be told. That's what
-
it is. So we say we have no time for
-
the Lord. No, no, no, no, no. You have at
-
least three hours a day. Think about it, because in
-
God's eyes, one work hour is what one work day is?
-
What twelve hours? But there's a tough one. Now work
-
it out, man, they said. So now at ninety am
-
he goes and now he's seen some other people standing idle,
-
standing idle, and he says, you also go in through
-
the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.
-
So now they were a group of people that negotiated
-
with him. Now you look at what he's calling people.
-
He's calling people and say, you come and work for me.
-
I'll just give you what I want. But there was
-
an agreement. Because they agreed to it, they went to work.
-
So who says God doesn't care? Wow? After three hours
-
he goes looking for workers, he goes looking for you.
-
He's interested in you. Doing nothing is not acceptable. By
-
the way, he that does not work, let him not eat.
-
So oh, it's not God's will for me to take
-
this job? Why because they're not paying me enough? Really? Hey,
-
when I had no job for six months, I was
-
willing to go and deliver bread. Okay, when you got
-
a family to feed, here you go mouths to feed.
-
Work is work. You'll do whatever you need to do
-
in order to get work done. That's the reality. But
-
now I know somebody who once told me, no, no, no, no,
-
I've been offered five figure pay for this job, but
-
I don't want to take it. It's not God's will.
-
Why because my pay that I want is this much.
-
I was counseling him, you know, as my counsel Are
-
you crazy, wrong persona to tell me that so I
-
just are you crazy. You shouldn't be eating. I said,
-
if you have no worker, you should not be eating.
-
You have no right to eat because you have got
-
no work here. You got somebody willing to pay you
-
so much. And you think it's not God's will because
-
it is not the figure which you feel God has
-
given you. Let me tell you something. If the job
-
is not telling you to go and do anything illegal,
-
if the job is not taking away your devotion to
-
the Lord, it is the will of God as as
-
simple as that. So guess what. The guy took the job,
-
and after a few months he said it was the
-
best thing that ever happened to him because all his
-
desires start coming to pass. See you and I we
-
blame God for a lot of things, but the answer
-
is in the word. So doing nothing is not acceptable.
-
So you say, ah, you know, I want to come.
-
I just want to praise the Lord hallelujah, and then
-
go out the door and wait another week. That's acceptable.
-
It is not acceptable because remember what I said in
-
the last message. God is not your cook. You do
-
not come to be served. You come to serve. And
-
this is what it is. You see. It is not acceptable.
-
God comes looking for people, and he asks for anybody.
-
He will use anybody. Do you realize that God did
-
not ask for criteria from the workers. You know, there
-
was no interview. Hey, you can do the job. You
-
got this degree, you got that degree. Ah, you are
-
You're qualified or not? You know what is the qualification?
-
The qualification was do you want to work for me? Yes,
-
you got the job. That's Gord. That is God with you.
-
He's interested in you. So he offers them work. He
-
cares for the people. He cares for his field. What
-
is the field? The field is the world? Now in
-
verse five, it says again he went out at the
-
six hour. What is the six hours noon? What twelve
-
o'clock in the afternoon? He goes again? So he goes
-
at at six, he goes out at nine. Now he
-
goes out at twelve. And guess what he went out
-
at the ninth hour. What is the ninth hour? He
-
went out at three pm? While he kept going and going,
-
and what was he doing? He did? Likewise, he was
-
looking for people. Do you know any time of the
-
day he is still searching for people to work for him,
-
to work with him, to do what he loves. Remember,
-
God's plan is our purpose. God never stops. He's always
-
looking for workers in the field, and he cares for
-
his field. Do you know that he cares for us?
-
What about the eleventh hour? Now was five pm, one
-
hour before end of before close of business. You know
-
you know what COB is, those of you who are
-
in business are I won the report by COB today.
-
So do you do you know why we all work
-
under five o'clock? Because EH close a business eleventh hour?
-
So five pm? Okay, five pm? We went out and
-
found others standing idle, and he said to them, why
-
have you been standing idle all day? God is not
-
interested to see us not doing anything. Will he bless
-
you when you serve him? You better believe it. The
-
last time I was here, did I share with them
-
the testimony on my heel knee? I don't think so. Okay,
-
the last time I was here, my knee was giving
-
me a lot of trouble. I was hobbling. You know,
-
I was really having a difficulty. I'm used to walking
-
ten kilometers a day, but I had to stop for
-
a long time. Why was that? Well? My knee was hurting.
-
On the eighteenth of December twenty twenty five. I was
-
doing some work going up and down the ladder and
-
I injured my knee and I couldn't do it. So
-
I thought I strained some muscle and the pain would
-
go away. And i've two months the pain had not
-
gone away. Then I thought, okay, no, no, no, you gotta
-
be manly, you gotta take it. So I took the
-
pain for another month. So at the Monda at the
-
third month, I thought to myself, something is not right.
-
Let me go in x ray. So I went to
-
x ray. I went to the hospital. They x ray.
-
Then they tell me how everything's wrong with and there's
-
nothing wrong with your knee bones are all okay, it's
-
an age thing. That's not nice to hear. It's an
-
age thing. Sixty five years of age already they're telling
-
me you've got muscle problem because of age. You gotta
-
go for physiotherapy. You gotta train your muscle again, train
-
my muscle. Okay. So anyway, I had to open up
-
the school at seven on Wednesday morning. Every Wednesday morning
-
I opened up the school. So it comes to sit.
-
Came to such a stage if I bend down to
-
open the glass door, why on earth they put the
-
lock on the floor. Can't they be like China glass doors?
-
All the low is here, not here. You gotta get down.
-
I get down. I cannot get up. Serious, it was
-
that bad. And then I pulled that glass handle to
-
pull myself. I was scared of I was gonna break
-
the door. So you know what I did. I bought
-
a staff, like the last abender. I got the staff,
-
you know, I brought it that day. You know what
-
God wanted me. Wanted wanted to see of me. He
-
wanted to see whether I would still do the work.
-
So I brought my staff. I got down on the knees,
-
I unlocked the door, and I used that staff to
-
pull myself up. That very day, a man walked by
-
one of the parents of the children. He says, this says,
-
something wrong with your knee. Say yeah, I'm having a
-
little bit of difficulty. He says, come and see me.
-
He is the professor of physiotherapy at the University of
-
sorry by Jaia. So I went to see him. So
-
he examined me. Then he said you went for next year.
-
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah. They said nothing was wrong. Yeah,
-
they said nothing was wrong. He says, well, I want
-
you to know you've got a dislocated me. For four months,
-
I've been suffering with a dislocated me. And then he said,
-
don't worry. You didn't give me a chance. He never
-
prepared me for what was happening. Suddenly you felt that
-
I wasn't quite sure. He put it back in place,
-
and immediately my knee could move. I'm back to walking
-
ten fifteen kilometers a day. God took care of my issue.
-
And then I remember that morning as I was praying
-
for the service, praying to preach, I was saying, God,
-
you have to have is the first time after four months,
-
the first time I'm asking Lord, Lord, will you help
-
my knee because I can't imagine at the age of
-
sixty five I already cannot walk. I got so many
-
more years to go. And the next day, the very
-
next day, I was here. That is God, That is God.
-
God will look after you. I also had a heart issue. Oh,
-
they told me I have high calcium calcium score. So
-
I went for checkups and stuff like that. Finally, after
-
one and a half years, I get my appointment to
-
go and see the doctor in the government hospital. All right,
-
so I go and take all the tests. Every test
-
I took everything right. The results came back and this
-
is this is the Lord. When I took my test
-
two years ago, I had a sugar or seven. You
-
know what is seven? Seven is diabetech diabetic? Okay, high cholesterol,
-
all the kind of things are not nice. Now the
-
results came back at the beginning of April, after my
-
knee got healed. The doctor looked at me and said, oh,
-
you're he is normal. Your sugar is normal, your calcium
-
your your your liver is normal, your cholesterol is normal,
-
your kidney is normal. You're fine. I'm discharging you. God's
-
taking care of my help. Why is that when you
-
are interested in God's business? Like I showed him that
-
day that even though I was having discomfort, I was
-
going to do his will. He came through and he
-
started taking care of all my issues. God is still
-
looking for whom the ones that no one else wants.
-
Do you know that at five at five pm, He's
-
looking for those that are left behind? Are you left behind?
-
Nobody wants you? Well, I know somebody who does. God
-
Jesus wants you. And yet every time we give the
-
altar call those who want to know Jesus put up
-
your hands. Nobody wants to put up their hands. If
-
you are unsaved and you don't want to put your hand,
-
is put up your hand. It's okay because none of
-
us here loses any sleep, to be honest, because we
-
know who Jesus is, and he loves us. He cares
-
for us, He saved us, and he's offering that to you.
-
Will you receive it or not? So God is still caring.
-
He trusts you that no. Wow, wow, this is fantastic. Hmm. Okay,
-
So God is still caring, he trusts you. Not there
-
was no interview okay for you and I. It seems
-
as if the criteria was I do not want to
-
see people aimless. I do not want to see people
-
unwanted or unproductive. I do not want people to be barren, idle,
-
or slow. So, guys, God wants you working with him.
-
He doesn't want you to be idle. Okay. He doesn't
-
want you to be doing nothing. He wants to be
-
doing something. Okay, Matthew seven, they said, so, they said
-
to him, because no one is. He said to them,
-
you also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right
-
you will receive. You. Notice that the only ones who
-
negotiated with him. I'll repeat it. Were the first group
-
of people, the ones who started the job early. Hey,
-
I mean, well, I loaned the lorder for forty forty
-
five years or so. So when I meet the lawyer, said, Lord,
-
it's so unfair. I had to get up at six
-
in the morning. Go put instruments, Go, put it in
-
the van, going loadie, go and put it back. Go
-
home at twelve o'clock, attend every service, call to this,
-
go to do this for you, do that for you.
-
And I'm getting the same reward as the guy who says, Lord,
-
coming to my hand, be my Lord's here and knockoff.
-
We're getting the same reward. He's so unfair. Is that
-
the way I'm supposed to look at it? Guys, you
-
gotta understand the grace of God is a rejoicing Okay.
-
So when evening had come, the owner of the now
-
he calls all the stewards, call the laborers come. I
-
want to give them their wages, beginning with the first, last,
-
and last verse. What is the last? First, it's for
-
all to witness the grace of God. That's what this
-
is all about. It's about the grace of God. Hey,
-
Salvation is not something earned, It's grace. That's why you
-
can rejoice for all to witness grace. Can we rejoice
-
that others receive salvation or just make it as opposed
-
to us who have known for years and have to
-
work out our salvation. You, I gotta work, I gotta come.
-
How many Sundays have come? How many messages I preached?
-
You think it's easier to preach a message. I gotta prepare,
-
I gotta pray. Then I got rush, get caught in
-
every traffic light and strug and then off that, oh
-
you know, I'm the people are waiting for me, and
-
you know, you know, and then come here, and then
-
the first do one and let me park. Then I said, no, no, no,
-
I'm supposed to park here. Okay, okay, you know what
-
I mean? To go through all that stress? Okay, Matthew
-
twenty nine to ten, It says, and when they who
-
came were hired about the eleven hour, they each received
-
the denarious. That means are those that started at five
-
o'clock got one denarious. Wow. So now those of us
-
who were a long time getting go wow, if they
-
only work one hour, they get one denarious. What about me.
-
I'm gonna expect something good. But when I first came,
-
they supposed that they would receive more, and likewise they
-
also received the denarius. Can the element of grace we
-
received from God be earned? That's what this is talking about.
-
Can we earn his grace? Can he be battered and negotiated?
-
The natural? The way of the world is to want
-
more because we feel entitled. Oh. The only way I
-
would say, God, God, you gotta bless me more then
-
that guy is because I'm entitled. Why am I entitled?
-
I work for you more than this guy. I've been
-
doing this and doing that. And the guy who he
-
said yes, and he died, and then he's in heaven
-
and while he's getting the same reward as mere, remember
-
the message. The guy who earned five said, well done,
-
come in. The guy who earned two, also, well done,
-
come in. Did Jesus say, oh, the guy who earned
-
well well done, you got five, come in, you got
-
You're better than no one who got to. But now
-
mine a tua not too bad or so well done?
-
Coming Did he say that? No, they got the same acknowledgment.
-
It didn't matter. Okay, we feel it's our rights. Verse
-
twelve and when they had received it, they complained against
-
land owner. Say the last man have worked only one hour,
-
and you have made them equal to us, who have
-
borne the burden of the heat of the day. I'm
-
gonna make it clear. This scripture is talking about grace
-
and how we received grace. And I thought I put
-
my phone on silent. So it says here Romans six
-
twenty three. For the wages of sin is death, but
-
the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus
-
our Lord. Are we working for a wage or are
-
we receiving a gift? Why do we work for the Lord?
-
Are we working for his grace? Are we working for
-
a wage? The grace of God is not earned enough.
-
God decided to give it to us just because he
-
is God. It is received, it is accepted. You did
-
not receive more of it because you got it early. Ah,
-
but we should rejoice that we have had longer to
-
live in it. You want to feel something good, Praise
-
the Lord that I have lived forty five years of
-
the grace of God. You only saw God for one day,
-
But look at me. I've seen God work in my
-
life for forty five years. Isn't it wonderful. So I
-
can rejoice for you because I know you're going to
-
be in the presence of the Lord. And I can
-
rejoice for myself because not only will I be in
-
the presence of the Lord, I've seen him work in
-
my life all these years. Ah. Maybe this is why
-
we working for Jesus, because we feel he is an
-
unfair paymaster. This message came about and there's another part
-
of this where youngsters asked this question, is it fair
-
some people are born with disabilities and some people are
-
born Okay? I address that question with the Lord this
-
morning in my walk even as I praying for this message,
-
and the Lord said this, He said, it's not a
-
question about whether you know, how can he be good
-
that these people are born with disabilities and some are not.
-
They are questioning my fairness. They are saying in that question,
-
I'm not a fair God because some are born this
-
way and some are not. But I am not a
-
fair God. I am a just God. Do you know
-
that fairness was what got us into this mess in
-
the first place? Because Adam, when you're saying to him,
-
so the fruit looks pretty good, Wah, God is not fair.
-
He knows that this food is gonna make this fruit
-
is gonna make me like him, and he doesn't want
-
me to eat not fair Then food looks the fruit
-
looks so good. So what did he do? He ate it,
-
fairness Goddess into a lot of trouble. But if he
-
had recognized God is a just god. I don't know
-
what this is about, but I know my God, and
-
he tells me something. It's for my own good. I
-
will throw in with God. That is what a just
-
God is doing, what is right for us. So now
-
he says to them friend verse thirteen fourteen, I'm doing
-
you any wrong. I'm doing you no wrong. Did you
-
not agree with me? For Denarius your agreement? One? And
-
this is what he said. Take what is yours and
-
go your way. Take what is yours and go your way.
-
I wish to give to the last man the same
-
as you. You know that's horrible. You think you've earned it.
-
Take your wages and go. Take what you think you've
-
earned and go. But you realize it. The landowner did
-
not tell that to any others who came in at
-
nine twelve, three or five. He only said it to
-
the ones who questioned his fairness. Guys, God is not fair.
-
It's just let's get over ourselves, because fairness is a
-
concept of our mentality and understanding. If we understand God
-
in terms of fairness, we are saying we are God,
-
because fairness is very very human, very very man like,
-
not god like. I'm not doing you wrong just because
-
you think it's not fair. I'm just this is what
-
God said to me. If you are working just for
-
the pay or you give it, give of yourself according
-
to what you perceive. Your reward is be satisfied with
-
your lot in life. Okay, if that's what God is
-
to you, just pay, be satisfied love, because that's all
-
you're going to get. That's what it means. By take
-
what is yours and go your way, that's what you're
-
going to get. But if you work for grace in
-
your life, the grace of God, you will stay. Remember
-
he just told those who were not satisfied to go.
-
If they were not satisfied, the only ones who made
-
a fast were the first. Be careful if you are
-
the first, not to let greed, dissent, resemve desire capture
-
your heart. Likewise, you young people, submit yourselves to your elders.
-
Oh yes, guys, you gotta know this, sir. There's a
-
lesson of humility here, because grace requires us to be humble. Likewise,
-
you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all
-
of you be submissive to one another and be clothed
-
with humility. For God resists the proud, but gives grace
-
to the humble. This is First Peter five to five.
-
He gives more grace therefore, he says, this is verse six.
-
This is James four six. But he gives more grace. Therefore,
-
he says, God resists the proud but gives grace to
-
the humble. So you want to talk terms with God
-
and say this is my right. That's pride. That's what
-
got us into this mess in the first place. The
-
longer we have served the Lord can be rejoiced that
-
we have led had more time to live and experience God.
-
That's what it's all about. Experience God's grace as opposed
-
to those who receive it at the last minute. Then
-
Jesus replied, is it not lawful for me to do
-
what I wish with my own things? Or is your
-
eye evil? Because I am good? Ah? Just because in
-
other words, God, what is God saying. God is saying
-
anything I do is good. You disagree with it, that's
-
your evil eye. Get with the program. Understand God is
-
God and we are not. Get with the program. You
-
know what is being right? Being right is throwing in
-
with God even if we don't agree. So the last
-
be first and the first last. For many were called
-
and a few are chosen. God is good. Is our
-
eye evil? Be careful when we pronounce judgment on God.
-
You know what is pronouncing judgment on God? God? You
-
are so unfair to those who had this question of
-
why some people are born like this and born like
-
that and some people. You know what God said when
-
he was asked, was this man? Why was this man
-
born blind? He said, for the grace of God, for
-
the glory of God to be revealed. You know who
-
is Stevie Wonder? You know what he said about being blind.
-
I'm blessed of God because I get to see people
-
not with the color of their skid, but with the
-
intention of their hearts. Have you heard a goden Motete
-
is probably one of the best Christian gospel is around.
-
No one can touch him, listen to him play. He
-
is in a class of his own. What did he say,
-
I am blessed even though I've been born blind because wow,
-
very active or today. You know that he said this
-
because although I can't see, God has given me the
-
ability to play such wondrous music. What about that guy
-
who was born without hands and legs, Nick whatever his name,
-
because I can't pronounce it. What did he say? He said,
-
having limbs not a problem for me, because I'm blessed
-
to the Lord. The Lord has given me so many exacts.
-
What about that guy, Darius Simmons who has one finger
-
on his left and three fingers on his right hand,
-
but he has played with the New York Symfon Orchestra
-
the piano. He plays the piano better than some of
-
these people I've seen with ten fingers, and even if
-
they could play with ten toes, not as good. This
-
guy is really, really good. What does he say? Praise
-
the Lord? And he's a composer. Hey, let me ask
-
you this, sir. So you're so concerned about whether God
-
is fair about some people being born with disabilities or not,
-
My question is, so you have no disabilities, what is
-
your problem? You got two hands and two legs, and
-
ten fingers and two eyes, two years all working. What's
-
your problem? There's not a question about God. It was
-
a question. It was not a question about whether why
-
is it? You know? It was a question about whether
-
God is fair. Always remember this, sir, if you forget everything.
-
God is sovereign. He's answered. He answers to no one
-
but himself. Many are called, we are all called. But
-
the chosen are those that receive his rewards with humility,
-
alignment to his will, and without murmuring. You want to
-
be chosen? Those are the qualifications. We lose the chosen
-
status to pride, greed, and envy, even though the Master
-
is generous, So how do we protect against it? The
-
reward is not for the length of time worked. In
-
this whole parable, I'm coming to it, and I will
-
end with this. The reward is not the length of
-
time worked. What was the reward for It was for
-
saying yes to Jesus. That's why it doesn't matter whether
-
I said yes to Jesus forty five years ago, and
-
it doesn't matter whether you said yes to Jesus one
-
year ago. We get the same reward. You know why,
-
because we said yes. The reward was for saying yes.
