You're listening to a message to go from acts church.
-
We hope this message will light up your.
-
D message to my heart. And of course ten am,
-
this is revision for you. Okay. But it's all right
-
because if you hear a message second time and third
-
time and a fourth time, it means you didn't get
-
it the first time, all right. So yeah, yeah, that's
-
the way God works. God always will keep telling you
-
and telling you and telling you what you need to
-
hear until you get it, all right. So what's the message?
-
The message is what's my attitude? And when it does
-
come on, we will know what it is. Okay, what's
-
my attitude? Okay? So you know my poor attempt at
-
art the D. The last time I did Discipleship, I said,
-
you know, I forgot to put the D in red.
-
So now disciples is activated, and now revival is activated.
-
So I put that R in red and then you
-
wait for EAM. Okay, EAM will come with over the
-
next few years. So yeah, it's related to revival. And
-
you know, I think the last time I came, I
-
shared with you that revival being revived is a personal
-
something that happens to Christians, all right, because we tend
-
to confuse revival with evangelism, But if you look at revival,
-
revival is really about your own spirit getting revived alive again. Okay,
-
so what has the message got to do with this?
-
Let's look at Matthew. We're going to be doing Matthew
-
chapter twenty five Versus fourteen to thirteen. We're going to
-
be learning about this from the parable of the talent. Guys.
-
Ah ah ah ah. This is a meat message. Okay,
-
there's no fluff here. Okay, it's a meat message meaning that.
-
Now I'm gonna put the the the plane out so
-
that you know there's no misunderstanding. When I say you,
-
I mean me as WELLA So I'm not saying, oh you,
-
you're so bad. You're so good, and I'm so good
-
and I'm so bad. No, no, no, no, We're all
-
in this together. Okay, all right, So when I say you,
-
it also means me. When I say me, it also
-
means you. Okay. This message, I gotta tell you came
-
about as a result of a conversation that I had
-
with some believers, and these believers decided that they wanted
-
to leave church, and they wanted to go to one
-
of those big, big churches. I got nothing against big churches. Man,
-
if you're going to go to a big church, listen
-
very carefully to what I'm saying. Whatever you're doing that
-
big church, make sure you do something because it doesn't
-
matter whether the church is big or whether the church
-
is small. God is not going to judge you according
-
to the size of the church you went to, but
-
He's gonna look at you from what I'm about to
-
share with you. So this person said, hey, it's okay.
-
What so because I asked this person, did you seek
-
the Lord before you left? What is to seek the Lord? For?
-
Church is church is name? God is there? What I mean?
-
God is in church here right now? Right? Or not?
-
You mean to say God is not in that church.
-
God is in the church olsoul. So it seemed like
-
I had no answer, and truth be told, I had
-
no answer. And then I went to the Lord. I said, God,
-
what do you think about this statement that it's easier
-
to just pack up and go? And the Lord gave
-
me the parable of the talents, and let's learn from it,
-
and as we go on, we'll understand a little bit more. Okay.
-
Reading from verse fourteen for the Kingdom of Heaven is
-
like a man traveling to a far country who called
-
his own servants and delivered his goods to them. For
-
the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man. I had
-
problems with this. Wha the Kingdom of Heaven is like
-
a man. So what is the Kingdom of sitting like
-
a woman? No? Bad joke, bad joke, Wipe it off,
-
bad joke. No, no, no, no, no, no no. The
-
reason that Jesus used this term the Kingdom of Heaven
-
is who was he speaking to? He was speaking to
-
the Jews. Now, you gotta understand. The Jewish people held
-
the name of God in such high regard that they
-
would not mention God's name that they refused to call
-
God God. They'll call him everything else, but they cannot
-
use the name God. So who was Jesus talking to.
-
Jesus was talking to these people, and he wanted to
-
talk to them in a language they understood. So he
-
said this, the Kingdom of God is like a man.
-
Because how horrible it would have been for him to
-
say God is like a man. The Jews that killed
-
him there and then, because is God like a man? No,
-
what was Jesus trying to do Jesus was speaking a parable.
-
What is parable a story that has a spiritual impact.
-
It may or may not be true, all right, but
-
it was done in such a way that people would
-
understand what Jesus was trying to get it. So Jesus said,
-
the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man. To me,
-
this whole parable is speaking about God. So it's very
-
important for us to understand what this parable is talking
-
about because it's talking about God. And I will prove
-
it as we go a little bit later on. So
-
the scripture says that, you know, the Kingdom of God
-
is like a man, is like a man who went
-
away to a far country. Why would scriptures say this? Hey,
-
you and I, we don't believe in an ordinary god.
-
You know, we believe in a God who is so extraordinary.
-
Because this tells me he trusts us. Did you ever
-
realize that that God trusts you and me to do
-
what he has told us to do. He trusts us.
-
That's why he can go away. He didn't just go
-
away to the shop. Okay, he didn't go away to
-
the neighbor. He went away to a far country. So
-
how many of you know that your boss doesn't trust
-
you when he's all the time looking over your shoulder.
-
Is it done yet? How many of you had bosses
-
like that? Is it done yet? Is it done yet?
-
Is it ready? You know? I had a project I
-
needed to complete because Japan wanted to buy over the
-
Cerebus division in Singapore and they needed you know, they
-
gave me this amount of papers to fulfill. You know,
-
you know how many days I had. I had three
-
days I had to present this report. This stick. So
-
I told my bosses, I cannot have you hanging over
-
my head. So this is what I'll do. You keep
-
the other bosses away from me. I'll be in that room.
-
I'm locking that room. I'm pulling out the phone while
-
I'm not listening to you. I'm not answering you. I
-
can't be bothered with anything that's happening. I'll give you
-
the report. I went to work Monday at am. I
-
left that room Thursday evening at six pm. Did I sleep. No?
-
I had food brought up to me. It was left outside.
-
This is like prison, you know, believe it outside the door.
-
I will only open the door and I know nobody's
-
when I know nobody's there. So I didn't see people
-
for four days. But you know what, on Thursday, I
-
presented that God trusts us, he gives us a task,
-
then he goes away. He's not hanging over your head
-
like some helicopter parents do. They send the child to schooler,
-
Oh you're doing this, you're doing that. How come you're
-
not teaching them health? I got news for helicopter parents.
-
You teach your own kids, don't send him to school.
-
The reason you send your child to school is not
-
just to get an education. You know, it is to
-
develop socially social growth, social education. But if you're going
-
to be there, it's not gonna happen. Okay. Then Scripture
-
says he called his own servants, guys, you gotta know,
-
the day you entered fellowship with Jesus, you were called.
-
Get this. The day you and I entered fellowship with Jesus,
-
we are called how do we know this? What in
-
in Matthew twenty eight when he says going into the
-
world and preach the gospel, he's only talking to those
-
people in the at that timer, Then you just take
-
the Bible and throw it a whaler, because two thousand
-
years ago already ended. They finished their job. Nothing left
-
to do. It was meant for us. It was meant.
-
It is a calling. We are called people. What you
-
mean to say? Only the pastor is called guys. That's
-
where we make our mistake, sir, we make a mistake
-
and thinking. Only Julian is called paster. Julian is called
-
to play the keyboards. So many of us who got
-
the skill to play, I don't want to play? Why
-
because we don't want to come on Thursday to practice?
-
Ask yourself, it is a calling? Are we call? Scripture
-
says he called his own servants. Are you God's servant
-
or not? The moment you say no, I'm not, You're
-
in trouble because every one of us are God's servants.
-
And I want you to know. Remember I told you
-
about this person that left you know what God's answer
-
was to me. I only give talents to my servants,
-
my own servants. I do not give talents to visitors.
-
You know why people go to a church because they
-
can sneak in and sneak out. They get lost in
-
the crowd. They are Christians in anonymity Cia Christians anonymous
-
cannot be seen. Guess what your so cannot be seen?
-
Even Jesus cannot see you you think heaven is like earth.
-
Hen let me tell you something about Heaven. Okay, Heaven's doors.
-
I don't know whether it's why which I think scriptures is.
-
It's not quite narrow, but one thing's for sure. You
-
get in, you can't come out. So those of us
-
who like to come to church one hour and fifty
-
minutes after service starts and leave five minutes before he ends,
-
do the math because I cannot stand the noise. I
-
don't like the worship. How are you going to take heaven?
-
Heaven is one big worship service. You know. You go
-
into the Kingdom of Heaven, you think what Jimmy Hendrix
-
is there? He's not. It's not a gala party with booze.
-
It's a worship service, you know. Yeah, how many of
-
you don't like worship? You go in, you can't come out.
-
And let me tell you something about Jesus very protective
-
over his house. God is very protective over his home.
-
Do you think he's going to allow just about anybody
-
to get in there? Or is he going to allow
-
ones who love him? Think about it? You see, we
-
have a wrong thinking about what heaven is. Sometimes we
-
fail to realize that God protects his home and the
-
people that he allows in are those who are going
-
to want to be there. So how can you tell me?
-
How can anybody tell us that they want to be
-
in heaven when they can't even be in church? O,
-
but I'm in a big church one. So you're going
-
there to hear the message. We're well done, You're going
-
to be served, or you're going to serve. You've just
-
made God a cook. Oh. I don't like this message today.
-
It's just too hot. I want to go to another
-
place where they just preach about the love of God.
-
So what if you made God? You made God your
-
cook word? Because you don't like the cuisine here, you
-
get up and go to another place and then there's
-
no drums here. I want drum ice cream, So I
-
want some dessert. How can there's only two guitars down? No,
-
no bass guitar. Hey, I want to go a place
-
where there's a nice music, full bad, full choir. I
-
sing on the cake. Hey, I love that ice cream,
-
full of it. That's the dessert. So basically, you went
-
to that church to do what to hear the nice music?
-
Did you go there to participate? Do you think God
-
is interested in attendees or participants. Guys, we've got God wrong.
-
We have him wrong. I got nothing against big churches.
-
If you need to go to a big church, goal,
-
but make sure you go there to serve. Because if
-
you're not serving, you just made God your cook. Who
-
is serving? Whom? Is God serving you? Or you serving God?
-
My scripture tells me he wants to give talents to
-
his servants. You know what that word servant means. He
-
means slave, It means bond seven. You know what's a
-
bond seven? They put their ear to the door. They
-
take a sharp thing, poke it in until he bleeds
-
on the door, meaning what forever yours Lord? Bond seven, voluntary,
-
fully devoted seven. Oh, and I want you to know
-
what God delivered his goods to his servants. One translation
-
says he put his goods like in a prison, there's
-
no escape. It's yours. It's fully given to you. It's
-
yielded up, surrendered, full of excess, like a personal computer
-
without the password. It's yours forever. Did you know that
-
there's no pointing in scripture that says God took those
-
talents back? You know you check it out. When he
-
gave it to those servants to use. He gave it.
-
He did not loan it, He did not consign it.
-
He gave it. Hey, we got to understand something about God.
-
He's got so much. He's not stingy. Okay, he wants
-
to give. He wants to give, and to one. He
-
gave five talents into another two and another one to
-
each according to his own ability, and immediately he went
-
on his journey. So God gave right to each according
-
to his own ability. I love this. You know why
-
this is so important because we don't have to live
-
up to somebody else, so that person can do one
-
hundred and one things. If I run like pasta kenneth,
-
I think I would have worn my legs away up
-
to my knees. Okay, the way he runs for the
-
lorder just that that running my legs will be worn out.
-
But you see, God did not ask me to run
-
like past the kennet because he gave each one according
-
to his own ability. I can only do so much.
-
That's the ability he has given me. It says here,
-
not an indictment or one's character. You know, it doesn't
-
mean that you get one you're a bad person, you
-
know it doesn't mean too you got to you're better
-
than no one who got one. You know, doesn't mean that.
-
It simply means that that's your ability. God trusts you
-
for that amount. So if you can play the guitar,
-
if you can play the keyboard, and you do that
-
for God's glory, and those are the only thing two
-
things you can know? What is that one hundred percent?
-
If God has given you five talents and you produce four,
-
have you reached your full potential? No, because you only
-
did eighty percent. But the one guy whose only job
-
is to turn the pager and he turns the page,
-
you know what he's done better than you because he
-
did one hundred percent. You have to understand how God sees.
-
God is a just god. But you and I look
-
from eyes of fairness, or you it's so unfair. I
-
did so much that will only turn the page. You
-
gotta understand God's not about fairness, you know, He's about
-
being just distinct ability unique only two you. It was
-
more in relation to the suitability that you have rather
-
than the quantum to be done. I want to give
-
you a testimony, and this is a present testimony. I
-
know some of you may be thinking, what this felony
-
talks about old testimonism. Hey, the reason I talk about
-
old testimony is is because those old testimonies are only
-
being seen now, but they were then done then. So
-
I give you a present testimony. Okay, yeah about and
-
not about exactly On this day, December eighteenth, two thy
-
and twenty five, I hurt my knee while doing work
-
in church, going up and down the ladder. My knee
-
was then painful, and then I couldn't bend. I could
-
belly walk. If I bend, I cannot come up. It
-
was that painful. So I went through this for months,
-
for months, it came to such a stager where you
-
know I opened up the school in the morning on Wednesday,
-
and you know the glass door you have to bend
-
down to open that lock. You know, when I bend
-
and I cannot get up, then I have to pull
-
the glass handle to stand up. And I'm thinking to myself,
-
it's only a matter of time before I shattered this glass,
-
because how many of you know I don't weigh I'm
-
not light again, So I thought of myself, no, no, no,
-
I'll buy this pole from wherever. So I actually bought
-
this this cane pole. It's a can Okay, So thick came,
-
you know, like the Last Airbender sort of thing, so
-
that when I go down, I can put this pole
-
and pull myself up. So that's what I did. The
-
pole came, I opened, glass, got up, and I was
-
preaching that Sunday, and uh so God wanted to see
-
to what extent I would go to do what was right.
-
So in spite of that pain for four months, I
-
did not stop doing it. I still struggled and I
-
did it. And then I bought this pole. And God,
-
so this pel is willing to do that. Okay, Okay.
-
As that Wednesday, as I was going downstairs, I was
-
met by one of the parents. Just you, you look
-
like you're having problems with your ney. I say, yeah, yeah, yeah,
-
you know sometime he says, I'm a physiotherapist. You come
-
and see me on Monday. He's a very he's a
-
professor at physiotherapy. Okay, so he saw me on Monday.
-
Now Friday Sunday, I'm preaching, right, So Sunday I did
-
my morning walk. I tried to walk. I could only
-
manage two kilometers, you know, for someone who used to
-
do between ten and fifteen. That's a struggle. And you
-
know what kind of time fourteen minutes twenty seconds. I
-
mean that is like crawling for me. But on that
-
Sunday I could barely stand. It was so painful. Going
-
up the stairs was a problem at go you know,
-
I was hobbling. Then somebody asked this question, so why
-
don't you pray for your healing? I say, God didn't
-
tell me to God must tell you. I say, when
-
you grow older, God has to tell you certain things,
-
like you know, when's the right time. So anyway, I
-
preached this message. I preached, and my knee was really problematic.
-
So the next day I went for physiotherapy. Mind you,
-
as a guy, the first time you get paid, I'm macho.
-
I'm not going to do anything about it. It will
-
heal in time. So after two months or three months,
-
I'm thinking, oh, this pain is not going away. I
-
think I better go and see the doctor. So the
-
doctor went and took an X ray and say, oh,
-
nothing wrong. It must be a muscle issue. You need
-
to retrain your muscles. I'll send you for physiotherapy. So
-
when was my appointment for physiotherapy in June? Okay, So anyway,
-
that Monday, I went the guy felt my knee and
-
it says, ah, you went to the doctor. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
-
extra you said nothing wrong. He said, well, you have
-
a dislocated knee. For four miles I was struggling with
-
a dislocated knee. My right kneecap had fallen two inches
-
below my left. So you know what is what is
-
the feeling like? It's loose, it's time, it's swollen, it's painful.
-
All at the same time. I cannot sleep at night
-
because it gets so stiff, and then it's the pain
-
wakes me up in the night. That was my knee.
-
I get down, I cannot get up. I cannot walk
-
properly going up the stairs. It is difficult. This is
-
my knee. He says, you know what, I'm going to
-
do something, and he didn't want to let me know
-
when he's gonna do it. Say you don't worry, you know,
-
I'm just gonna do something, and you learn. And then
-
guess what. I didn't feel my knee anymore, for the
-
first time in four months, I did not feel it,
-
and then almost immediately I had my mobility back. Now,
-
the knee was still swollen because for four months. It
-
was like that the swelling would go down over time.
-
On Thursday, I did ten kilometers. On Saturday, I went
-
to Kupong Botanic Garden and you've gotta climb up the
-
staircase to go around something in the jungle. I did that,
-
and this morning, what I always loved to do to
-
pray for the service, I did my ten kilometer walk
-
again and it's fine. You see. On Sunday and I
-
was telling the church on Sunday, I said, did you
-
see me dance? I was moving from side to side.
-
I said, my knee was killing me. But you know
-
why I moved from side to side. I told this
-
to the church. I moved from side to side because
-
God will look at me and he will say to me,
-
if there's anyone I'm going to give mobility to, it's
-
this guy. Because whether his knee is hurting or not,
-
he's still praising me. My talent. It's my talent. So
-
I praised the Lord and on Monday I was healed.
-
Today Jorome walked in and I saw both his shoelaces
-
were untied, and I thought leave it. Then the Lord
-
said he will trip and fall. Help him. So I
-
went up to Jerome and said, Jerome, your shoelaces are
-
Can I tie it for you? He says, sure, I
-
got down on my knees. I got down on my
-
knee to tie the shoelace you know which knee, the
-
knee that was giving me problems for all those months.
-
And I got up and I'm fine. And then the
-
Lord said, do you know why I gave you mobility
-
to your knee? It's for to help others. Guys, if
-
you find that things are not working so well in
-
your life, ask the Lord is am I missing something?
-
So he would received five talents. This is what it is. Guys.
-
You gotta understand that God is just as excited to
-
bless you, more so than you can even think. But
-
we are just busy doing our own stuff. Hey, do
-
you know that God may ask you to do certain
-
things through who you know, your CPC. When your CPCs
-
can you do this? You say, God never asked me.
-
Let me tell you. God also speaks through your CPC.
-
So when you tell your CPC I won't do it,
-
are you telling your CPC no? You're telling God no.
-
You gotta ask yourself this question, because when we meet
-
the Lord, we have to give an accounting. Then he
-
who received the five talents went and traded with them
-
and made another five. Guys, you get those talents, not
-
to keep it to yourself. Work it, work it, you
-
know how? Just look at my size. Man, I put
-
on all that weight in four months. You know I'm
-
going to lose it. Now praise the Lord because I
-
can walk again. Work it, and likewise he whould received
-
to gain two more. Also both produced one hundred percent. Guys,
-
It's not about how many things you can do, it's
-
about whether you do the whether you do everything that
-
you have one hundred percent they produced. Both produced exactly
-
the production value of their distinct abilities. So I got
-
to ask you, are you a visitor in the house
-
of the Lord or are you his seven meet messenger?
-
Success came in doing what they could do best. How
-
did it come they did it. If they were to
-
play the guitar, they did it. If it was to sing,
-
they did it. If it was to produce an album,
-
why did it? So? When God asks you to do something,
-
you can using equals gain, using equals gain, let me
-
tell you in church, I dare say, from the leadership,
-
the topmost leadership, right now I'm the oldest in terms
-
of knowing the Lord from the top right down, I'm
-
also the oldest. Does that matter where God is concerned, No,
-
that doesn't matter. You know what matters when a young person,
-
a young leader, asks me to do something? Do I
-
tell that young leader? Do you know who I am?
-
You know how many years have been in the lot?
-
Forty seven years you have been alive? How long twenty
-
five years? I've been in the law longer than you
-
have been alive, and you are asking me to do Yeah? Yeah,
-
I can say that, And I wonder what God is
-
gonna deal with me after that, you see, because that's
-
not what it is. You know what it is. When
-
that young person asked me to do something, I say,
-
how do you want it done? Just let me know.
-
I'll do my best, And God looks at me and says,
-
well done. That's what it's all about. It's not about
-
how long you've been a Christian. It's not about how
-
much you know. It's never been about that. It's been
-
how a variable are you to His service? So he
-
who had received one, Oh you gotta love this joker.
-
He went away. He went, He dug in the ground
-
and hid his lord's money. And after a long time
-
the lord of those servants came and settle accounts with that.
-
Jesus is coming soon, guys. In case you don't know,
-
Jesus is coming very soon. You look at what scripture says,
-
when the whole world has turned against his people, Jesus
-
will come. You know how many people love his You
-
know how many in the world love his people. Now
-
nobody except for one country, and that country is almost
-
at a stage where they will turn the other way.
-
When that happens, Jesus will come. And when he comes,
-
will he find you his servant having produced, or will
-
he find you having dug and put his money in
-
the ground. So the first two went and traded. The
-
third went away. He left, He departed. He took a
-
direction away from the task he speaks to intend. No,
-
I will not do it. I've been burnt. I'm not
-
going to serve the Lord. I don't want to get involved.
-
Somebody else will do it. I'm on holiday. I have
-
other things to do. I want to see the world.
-
I want to taste other churches. I want to quit
-
their message somewhere else. What about a honey chicken message?
-
I don't want to get involved. Just leave me alone.
-
What is that he dug in and hid it? A
-
rejecting of the entrustment? Hey, you know why we have time?
-
You know why Jesus hasn't come back yet? Is giving
-
us time to get a act together. Hey, if we
-
haven't done what the Lord has told us to do,
-
Lord forgive me, Can I do so now? So? He
-
who received five terrans came and brought five other talents, saying, Lord,
-
you've delivered to me five terrans. Look, I gained five
-
more beside them. Did he tell the Lord, a Lord,
-
here's your money back. I made you another five. Did
-
that servant give the money back to the Lord? Check?
-
And see he kept all ten to himself. Don't you
-
get it? When the Lord gives us something, it's not
-
for the Lord to keep it for you. And then
-
he says this, well done, good and faithful. Wow, How
-
many of us lived to get well done from our parents?
-
I tell you it's very difficult to get well done
-
for my dad and mom. And you know I always
-
did well my studies. He was so horrible, you know,
-
because studies came easy to me. I was always doing
-
well first, second, third in class, first, second class. Never
-
did they say well done. You know, I'm thinking to myself,
-
what's wrong with then? And the other thing I hate
-
is you can do more? You can do better. I
-
used to hate that, But you see, God is not
-
like that. What does God say? Where has done? Good
-
and faithful servant? I will make you rule over many things.
-
Enter into the joy of the Lord. Do you see
-
who he got to enter his home? Do you see
-
who he got to enter his home? A fruitful servant.
-
He's very selective about who goes into his home. You
-
make no mistaker. That's why I say this is talking
-
about God, very very selective. So good describes what originals
-
from God and is empowered by him through faith. That's
-
what good is. It wasn't more money that the Lord
-
was pleased about. It was faithfulness. God was not interested
-
in a wealth. That is what God seeks from us.
-
We have to be faithful over the gifts He has
-
given us. Joy of the Lord. This word refers to
-
someone supreme. This is God, man God even. That is
-
why the scripture is talking about an interaction that talks
-
about God. Now, he who had received two talents Verse
-
twenty two came and said Lord, you delivered to me
-
two talents. Look, I have gained two more besides them.
-
And the Lord said same thing. The Lord said to him,
-
well done, good and faithful serven. Did he say, well done.
-
I wish you could have been that guy who made
-
another five, because he has got more, you only made four.
-
Did he say that he had the same blessing? Well done,
-
good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a
-
few things. I will make you ruler over many things.
-
Enter into the joy of the Lord. Your God is just.
-
He's a just god. He sees things so different than
-
all of us. We look at crowds. Oh you know
-
what God thought of crowds. He didn't think anything of them.
-
Crowds did not bother him. How do I know this?
-
He was just coming out and a multitude came around him, multitude, many, many, many,
-
many people pressing up against it. Did any of them
-
get anything? Nothing? Except a woman who crawled on the
-
ground through that sea of people, just to touch the
-
hem of his garment. And they say, if I touch that,
-
I will be that one woman. And when she did,
-
he said, who touched me? And you gotta love the disciples? Lord,
-
what's the matter with you. Can you see as a
-
multitude people around you touching you? He said, you don't understand.
-
The one that touches me touches me in faith, and
-
our will reach that person. She was healed. There's no
-
record of the Master taking back the money he had
-
given the servants to trade. In fact, he let them
-
keep it. God is never interested in the money or
-
the gifts. He's interested in our faithfulness and what we
-
use that faithfulness to produce? Are we producing? Then he
-
who received the one talent came to the Lord and said, Lord,
-
I knew you were a hard man, reaping where you
-
have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed.
-
And I was afraid and went and hit the talent
-
to the ground. Look there you have what is yours.
-
Don't you understand what this was? This was a rejection
-
of the Lord. You think, and I think one said
-
always say it, by the way, I believe that, okay,
-
one saved, always say. But I also noticed there's only
-
one person who can make a mess of it. Let's
-
we ourselves. Do you know what scripture said? Not all
-
of you will enter, some will say, Lord, Lord, I
-
did this, and I did that what he say, away
-
from me, I never knew you. Oh but I did
-
this and I did that. He said away from me,
-
I never knew you. You've got to understand something. If
-
you look at Matthew. In the Book of Matthew, it
-
talks about him giving power to all the disciples, and
-
you know who was included, Judas, who betrayed him. You
-
gave them power over demons, power to heal, power to pray,
-
seek miracles. And you look, Judas was one of them
-
who actually experienced it. Did Judas make it to heaven?
-
Judas betrayed the Lord. Guys, it's not about one save
-
always say, it's about us making sure that once we
-
are saved, whatever the Lord has given us to do,
-
we do. We must be fruitful. We must be fruitful.
-
This guy had no intention of serving the Lord. You know, here,
-
take back what is yours? You tell if I were
-
to tell my father here, tack back what is yours?
-
One slap? I'll get how many of your dad tell
-
your parents that? Now? Of course kids will those days
-
you try and see here? Here here, take back what
-
is yours? You are dead meat, you are his story.
-
I brought you into this world. I can take you out.
-
That's the kind of attitude we will have, or you
-
know what will come towards us. This guy had the
-
cheek to tell Hire, take back what is yours. The
-
one who had one talent claimed to be fully knowledgeable
-
of the Lord. But you know what, it was a
-
severe miscalculation on his pack. Do we miscalculate about our
-
relationship with God. Let's not make a miscalculation of our
-
relationship with the Lord. Let's not miscalculate what he will
-
do to us if he finds us not doing what
-
we're supposed to do. Don't miscalculate that relationship. He said,
-
you are hard, You're a scallos. That was the word.
-
You're scallous. You are hard, you're tough, you're harsh, severe.
-
That's what he was telling Jesus, telling the Lord all right,
-
he was telling God, he's telling his master. Wow. Not
-
only he didn't do the work, he was ridiculing his master,
-
attacking his master. His attitude was all wrong. What's your attitude?
-
What's my attitude to me? A statement reflects his contempt
-
of God. He basically accused God of being unjust, and
-
rather than face that, he returned the Lord's tell him
-
I don't want it, I don't need you. I don't
-
need to work for you. But the Lord answered and
-
said to him, you wicked and lazy servant. You knew
-
that where I'm not sown and gathered, where I'm not
-
scattered seed? Do you know that when we don't use
-
the talents that God has given us, it equates to wickedness.
-
Oh that's a tough one. This word. You're wicked. It
-
means you're hurtful, you're evil, your calamitous, meaning you're full
-
of trouble. Hum hm, you're diseased. O. God was telling him,
-
you're a diseased person. It's terrible. You're derelict, You're full
-
of malice, you're guilty. And get this, this word also
-
means you are the devil, because there was another character
-
who didn't want to work for the Lord. Who was it?
-
It was the devil. You are the devil, your sinner.
-
And this word lazy means It comes from the word ognros,
-
which means to hesitate, to be tardy. Oh, I hesitate
-
to do the Lord's work. I hesitate to serve in church. No, no, no,
-
I don't want hey wire do wanna hey? Guys, my
-
church was here and Klanger, I get up at five am,
-
go to church, load up all the instruments with another
-
guy onto the church van. And we're not talking about
-
all these nice instruments, very light, full of transistors. Every day,
-
I mean we carried monsters. Okay, seriously. Every guitar had
-
its own amp, jazz chorus and the other. Every amp
-
weighed like about fifty pounds. And then we had the
-
base amp, you know, the base amp. The speaker alone
-
was bigger than this, and the unit, the amplifier unit
-
weighed about fifty pounds and it was small like that.
-
The amplifier. My goodness, you needed two people to carry
-
the amplifier. And that's not all. We had to carry
-
a roads piano. How do you know what a roads
-
piano is. It's an electric piano. It weighed about one
-
hundred pounds. Two people, we load up the van, We
-
drive all the way to care and guess what. The
-
hotel would not allow us use the lift. So the
-
two of us would carry all these instruments up to
-
the third floor, set it up, praise the Lord in worship,
-
put it away, bring it down, put it back in
-
the van, and send it back to clang at two
-
a m. Monday morning. I did this for ten years,
-
ten years, and some of us, oh yeah, I've been
-
playing already for two weeks in a row. I cannot it.
-
I need a break. Ask yourself when you're serving the Lord?
-
Is it a pleasure or is it a curse? Because
-
if you're worshiping the Lord, and you're serving the Lord,
-
you don't care you do it six months in a row.
-
If you have to have a thought, why am I
-
doing it? I've been on for so long. You got
-
to correct, you gotta have There has to be an
-
adjustment the way you think today Today I receive the
-
blessings of all those things that I did then because
-
I did not count myself as anything then and now
-
the Lord blesses me until today. It's an attitude. Are
-
we slothful? Are we unambitious? Are we uninterested in the
-
Lord's things? And this is what the Lord said, and
-
this thankfully will cover a lot of us. Okay, So
-
you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers
-
and at my coming I would receive my I would
-
have received back my own with interest. Praise the Lord.
-
God is very kind. Okay, because there are many of
-
us who've got talents were not using Do you know that?
-
Now for those of us that don't use the talents
-
that God has given us, we have an option to survive.
-
You w as the option to survive. Put the money
-
in the bank to earn interest or bury it in
-
the ground. You know what happens if we bury it
-
in the ground, right? We did me? So what is
-
this putting money in the bank to gain interest? Hey,
-
whatever you can do for the Lord, do with a
-
good heart. Okay, I cannot serve all the time as
-
a host, but when I come I can shake somebody's
-
hand and welcome them to church. What is that money
-
in the bank earning interest? Or why you got nowhere
-
to have the homes? I cannot have the homes in
-
my house every week, but never mind, this week I
-
opened my house. What is that money in the bank
-
bending down to tie somebody's shoelace? What is that money
-
in the bank interest? Did you think of that? Did
-
you know that that every time you bless somebody? What
-
is that money in the bank interest? So when I
-
meet the Lord and he says, now, who are you
-
stopp being a musician? Did I ask you so I'm
-
going to tell the Lord. Yeah, true, you didn't ask me. Sorry,
-
by at least money in the bankler, You know what
-
did I wrote some songs for you to bless your name.
-
Got interest, man, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I got interest. God
-
is kind, God is for us making it. There's always
-
something we can do. The problem is when we do nothing,
-
however small it may be. It's a step forward and
-
it will grow. Be a host, be a cleaner, be
-
a decorator. Christmas is coming. That's the only thing you do.
-
You put up one tinsel there? Do it? Learn that
-
is what is that money in there bank? You know
-
when I first came to church to ask many years ago,
-
thousand and nine, I think, yeah, two thousand and nine.
-
You know I told pasta, Pasta maybe and me, we
-
will clean the toilets. But we were leaders in our
-
church before. Did we say we we we can be
-
a leader in your church? No? What did we say?
-
We've cleaned the toilets because we understand that it's not
-
about the face that we have. It's about the things
-
that we can do for the Lord. You know what
-
pastor said, there's no need to do that. But I'm
-
sure that spoke to Pasta's heart. There's something about these guys. Guys,
-
what are you going to do? What are you going
-
to do? Do something for you know, for your sake,
-
do something. So take the talent from him and give
-
it to him who has ten talents. You know. The
-
only time God took back what was his was when
-
we did not use what he gave us. That's the
-
only time he took it back. He took it back
-
and he gave it to the one who has more.
-
And then it says, don't lose everything. This only happens
-
when we do nothing. When we do nothing, we will
-
lose everything. And this is the master's house. I do
-
not care whether it's small or whether it's big. But
-
whichever house you call your own, you had better be serving.
-
And if you don't call anyone your house, you're in
-
big trouble at the very start. Okay, don't tell me
-
every church is God's house. I know that. But you
-
have made God's house your restaurant that you go to
-
receive your food when all you do is go to
-
hear the word. You have made God your servant. God
-
is not your severn. He is God. You are not.
-
I am not so he gave talents only to his servants,
-
not to the visitors. Of course, if you're visiting from
-
another church because you're not where your church is, that's okay.
-
What is that? That's money in the bank showing God. God,
-
I put you first. But if you're here for a
-
few months, serve the Lord. That's the way it is.
-
Who are you doing this for us? For me? No,
-
you're doing it for you. You're doing it for the Lord.
-
Visitors who keep going from church to another, one church
-
to another, take God for a cook or a chef,
-
and go to these restaurants called churches to sample the
-
cuisine or the word. The ideas are tickled with the
-
good food. But they will not trade the talents God
-
has given them, nor will they serve God in any
-
capacity to give God interest. They want to come in
-
and leave. What a dangerous place to be. For to
-
everyone who has more will be given into him who
-
has in abundance. But from him who does not have
-
even what he has will be taken away. And this
-
is why I say this one refers to God and
-
cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will
-
be weeping and gnashing of teeth. I believe one's safe,
-
always saved. But if you don't serve the Lord, if
-
you don't trade with the talents he has given you,
-
you put yourself in very dangerous territory, because when the
-
Lord comes back and he requires an accounting, maybe be
-
found to have done something with the talents he has
-
given us. Are you faithful? God wants to give you more.
-
Remember he did not take the money back from the servants,
-
but ask them into his home. He wants to not
-
only give you talents, He doesn't want to take it back.
-
He wants to invite you into his home. If you
-
want to remain lazy, Not only does he strip you
-
of what you have, the last one says he won't
-
have anything to do with you. Remember I said you
-
means me, so you know you cannot say there's any
-
finger pointing going on. We're all in this together, okay.
-
Revival comes with having the right attitude and devotion to
-
doing what God has called us to do. It starts yeah,
-
and with that, praise the Lord. I've given the Lord
-
my talent for the day. Guys, God wants to get
-
you ready. He wants to get you ready because the
-
end is coming soon. Jesus is coming soon. Okay. I
-
always say the candle burns on both ends. When we
-
are born, one end starts burning and then the Lord.
-
The time it takes for the Lord to come, the
-
other end is burning. So like for my wife and
-
me that the candle has burned quite far on one side.
-
But you guys that are young, I think for you
-
all that the candle of Jesus returning soon is coming
-
quite short. Don't be found napping, don't be found sleeping,
-
be found working.
