You're listening to a message to go from axt church.
-
We hope this message will light up your tea.
-
So, okay, I'm gonna start off with a question.
-
Okay, afternoon timer, don't fall asleep on me because I
-
will call your name.
-
Although am I getting wrong?
-
Ah?
-
If I get it wrong, please forgive me. Okaya.
-
The question that I want to ask us, and this
-
is a searching question and I will gather some response
-
from you in a bit. Okay. So the first question
-
that I want to ask you is who is Jesus
-
to you? Okay, I'm looking for genuine responses. Don't give
-
me textbook answers. I know there are many textbooks answers,
-
but we want to be real, Okay, So just think
-
about it. Give you a moment to think about this.
-
Who is Jesus to you? Okay?
-
I'm looking at the clock. There's one nice red clock
-
in front of me.
-
So I'll give you another fifteen seconds to think about
-
your answer, and then let's hear from your own journey.
-
So I want to say that our journey with the
-
Lord is a journey, and that means you might be
-
at different stages of your life. So it's okay, right,
-
that it's okay to just be real where you are. Okay,
-
So definitely I'm gonna start. Do you sense the evil
-
after as.
-
The doctor Daniel go, Is that bringing on?
-
Bringing on? Who is Jesus to you? A friend, a friend,
-
close companion? Okay, Okay, cool, I have to ask my
-
dear friend Low okay, my best Sie, my best Dye
-
from Uni days, just who's Jesus you he's got, he's got, okay,
-
God winning, Who's Jesus to you? Someone deeply intimate, deeply intimate? Okay,
-
someone very close Okay, uh Joel, who's Jesus to you?
-
Everything?
-
Who he managed to infiltrate all parts of his life?
-
Okay?
-
Because everything, lash everything, every fiber of your being is Jesus.
-
I think this is a.
-
Very important question because some of us have never asked
-
this question to the Lord? Who are you? Who are
-
you to me? There is what your parents can say,
-
there is what the church can say, what your leaders
-
can say. But who do you say the Lord is?
-
Who's Jesus to you? It's a very deep, intimate personal question.
-
It's something that you will ask someone very close and
-
intimate to you, because if it's someone like a stranger
-
on the road.
-
You were like, yeah, who's this person? Nothing?
-
Nobody, right, And I find that this is a question
-
that really would change and dictate how you would live
-
your life.
-
It would.
-
How you view Jesus. What is the name that you
-
ascribe to him? Will determine how you live your life? Okay?
-
So you know, as we go through time, right, Jesus
-
is well known. You know that Jesus very famous. Right,
-
so some of the people they would ascribe Jesus as
-
he's a legend trough not legend, legend? What does legend meaner?
-
Go? Okay? Goat? So so last the last time I
-
came here.
-
It was not the goat but the deer that we
-
were talking about, right right, right? So but anyway, he's good.
-
You understand what God means or not? Young people are
-
older people. I help you, I help you greatest of
-
all time. I just learned it. Okay. So I'm saying
-
power with you, saying power all these new terminology your
-
goat okay doesn't mean they thought better, Okay, it means
-
you're great. You're great?
-
Okay. Was he just a legend?
-
Someone who was you know, written long time ago, two
-
thousand years ago, right, two thousand years ago? And someone famous,
-
someone everyone actually, the whole world celebrates him. A hey,
-
do you think about it? The whole world got Christmas? Eh,
-
and isn't Christmas the time that we hear? Oh, there's
-
this guy named Jesus. You know, he was a baby
-
in a manger and then after that, Yeah, birthdays and
-
gifts and holiday right, so he's he's very famous. Okay,
-
so famous is one thing? He's a legend? Was he
-
only a liar? A lunatic? What's my next? One? Liar?
-
There are many people who don't believe in Jesus. You
-
may know of Jesus, you may heard of the story,
-
you know, all your little Christmas stories, but most of
-
them don't believe that when he says that I am God.
-
How many believe? How many populations do we have right
-
now in the world, eight billin? How many actually thinks
-
that he's got.
-
Right? So I would say.
-
Maybe about thirty percent who would say Jesus is God?
-
And the rest makes him out to be a liar.
-
That's it, right. It's either you actually take him for
-
what he says he is or you're on the other end.
-
All right.
-
Some people think Jesus was a lunatic, crazy guy. Right,
-
the things that he said, the things that he did.
-
I don't know. When you read the word of God,
-
do you sometimes find that hard to believe? Sometimes? Sometimes right,
-
very radical things. Jesus says to the rich young ruler,
-
What do you say to him? Go sell everything? Thank
-
you very much, sell everything, and then come and follow me?
-
What did the rich young ruler do? Or waila? Because
-
he thinks sheesy Jesus means crazy. You're asking me to
-
do something that is not logical. Can I tell you
-
that God defies our logic? Yeah, sometimes he may not
-
make sense to you. Okay, and you might think this
-
is crazy? What give up my job in the corporate
-
and join.
-
Full time God?
-
Are you crazy?
-
Are you serious? How am I going to feed my family?
-
Right? My husband already full time? Anyway, that's my back story.
-
My backstory. Backstory is my husband was full time when
-
I was pregnant with our first child.
-
Okay, and then many many many years later.
-
Then I was challenged with that that question as well,
-
would you follow me? And of course I say it
-
in my heart, I was like struggling with it, right, struggling, like,
-
are you crazy. No. Yeah, so God had to deal
-
with some things in my heart, you know. And then
-
my husband also like very conjung I think you knownedla
-
no serious st he's thinking medical benefit. By the way,
-
I used to work in this big company, very great
-
benical betefits.
-
You know, all the kids were taken care of.
-
And after that, you know, as I was thinking about
-
this decision to leave that corporate to come full time
-
with the church, my husband was the one who said,
-
are you sure? Actually, are you're doing fine? You know? Yeah,
-
you know you're you're already like serving the Lord. You're
-
serving the Lord in the marketplace. He said, oh you can.
-
I cannot.
-
I don't know nothing like that. But but do you
-
see even our family, close friends, you know, or sometimes
-
cast out, is this really the voice of the Lord?
-
Are you sure? Yeah? So so yeah, you know, things
-
that God leads us to do, sometimes it just doesn't
-
make sense. And so so I heard some responses from you.
-
He is God, he is best friend, he's someone who's
-
really intimate.
-
He's everything. Did this one very deep answer? He is everything?
-
Is everything?
-
And then my question is that you see everything.
-
In every day, in every moment of your life, you
-
know where I'm going with this because I realized that
-
we can confess and say something, but then our life
-
shows differently. Okay, we can say he's my best friend,
-
but is he really best friend?
-
In everything? In everything? You know, in everything?
-
And so one part of God that I want to
-
bring to you is this is Jesus Christ, Your Lord.
-
Is see Lord.
-
And we're gonna unpack this a little bit later as
-
we go along. Its Jesus Christ Lord. Because until you
-
come to a place that you acknowledge him as Lord,
-
then your life will still.
-
Be the same.
-
You can be the bestest Christian church goer, hide giver,
-
ministry server, and yet still miss the mark until you
-
know and are able to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord.
-
Do you know? It says right in Matthew, let's go
-
to Matthew. I'm gonna turn to Matthew seven Matthew seven
-
twenty one. He says this, Not everyone who says to me,
-
Lord Lord shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he
-
who does the will of my Father in heaven.
-
So what does that mean? So because I let's let's
-
move on, he says.
-
Many will say to me in the day Lord, Lord,
-
have we not prophesied in your name, cast demons in
-
your name, and done many wonders in your name? They
-
means you're doing everything in the name of God. And
-
this is the scary verse. I want to give you
-
the scary verse verse. The scary verse in Matthew seven
-
twenty three says this, and this is the word of Jesus,
-
he says, and then I will declare to them, I
-
never knew you. Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness?
-
Now where the guy is doing bad stuff or not?
-
They were prophesying, casting out demons war Isn't that what
-
we're supposed to do? But how come they missed the mark?
-
How did they miss the crucial mark? Until to the
-
point that as we are standing before the Lord, and
-
we can call him Lord, Lord, Lord, we can sing Lord,
-
we can say you are God. And yet Jesus turns
-
around and says, apart from me, I never knew you,
-
what a sobbrging thought right?
-
And I feel that we as a church need to prepare.
-
Our people to stand before the Lord. Yeah, it's not
-
how well you start your journey, is how well you
-
are standing before the Lord.
-
And I want to give.
-
You that confidence, right, the confidence to say that as
-
you stand before the Lord, Jesus will say I know you, Joe,
-
I know you, Jolene, I know you. Because many times
-
we think.
-
We know the Lord.
-
But does the Lord know you? Does the Lord know
-
you or not? And so so my heart is this okay,
-
just catch my heart. I want us all to be
-
ready to stand before the Lord if it comes back today,
-
if it comes back tomorrow, we say, Jesus, I know you,
-
I know who you are. Many of us have a
-
wrong reception of who Jesus is, and we limit him
-
to just a certain part. We know him, maybe as
-
the good shepherd. We know him as the provider, comforter,
-
maybe best friend. But I think there is more. There
-
is more, Okay, so let's go. Let's go to the
-
story of a transformation. And I believe God is in
-
the process of transforming all of us a man. Do
-
you believe that?
-
Like I said, right, it's a journey.
-
You start somewhere and then you're being transformed until.
-
You meet with Jesus. Then when Jesus looks at you, right,
-
he's not looking at Caro.
-
He's like, I see me, I see me in her.
-
Do you want to get there. I think we all
-
want to get.
-
There, right, there's a desire for that process of transformation.
-
So let's go to the story of not a story,
-
a real person that was truly transformed by the Lord. Amen.
-
How many of you.
-
Know Saul.
-
Ooh?
-
Okay, Saul? So how many of you like Saul before after?
-
So is before after? I asked you, it's.
-
Saul before after?
-
Okay?
-
How many of you like the before Saul? Not the best? Okay?
-
Uh?
-
In Acts chapter eight, it.
-
Says that Saul was consenting to the murther of Stephen
-
the matter right.
-
He was there saying, good job, guys, kill Stephen. All right?
-
So can you imagine if Saul came into the church
-
right now?
-
Hello the tympathy, I mister Saul.
-
Any of you who says that you follow the way,
-
come with me. I'm gonna bring you to Kajang, not
-
for sate, but to the prison.
-
How many of you would say, yes, no, serious? This
-
is Saul.
-
Saul when around capturing Christians, capturing those who profess to
-
be Christians, and say, okay, you're saying you follow the way,
-
that you follow me.
-
To the prison, to.
-
The dungeons, because I am going to capture all Christians.
-
Do you know what? We don't like Christians. We don't
-
like Saul very much. Right, but do you know that
-
he was zealous for God? He was the most zealous
-
for God. Did you know that? Why was he even
-
persecuting Jesus Because Jesus, in his mind, was not upholding
-
all the Mosaic law.
-
He is known as the Pharisees, of the Pharisees, you.
-
Know, the mean stop gurup rabbi for the Jewish loss.
-
So he was not actually like someone who just went
-
around persecuting Jesus. He was actually zealous for the things
-
of God. And that's why I say sometimes as Christians,
-
we gotta be careful. We can think that we are
-
doing everything for God and still miss the mark and
-
still miss Jesus. Right, That's what exactly Saul was. He
-
missed Jesus. He didn't know who Jesus was. He knew
-
Jesus as a fraudster, because what was Jesus doing bringing
-
everyone to follow him when they should be following God
-
of the Jews? Did you see there's a little bit
-
of a discrepancy here, as a huge gap in his mind,
-
his mindset, He's like, but you know, we must follow God. Yeahwey,
-
he's not wronger Yeahweh. But he missed Jesus, who was
-
part of Yahweh's plan. Okay, So when you pray for
-
the Jews, can you just pray for them as well,
-
because many of them have not recognized who Jesus is
-
as the Messiah. All right, So this is exactly where
-
Paul is, all right, So let's read xt Chapter nine.
-
Hah Saul. Then Saul, still breeding threats and murther against
-
the disciples of the Lord, when to the high priests
-
and asked letters from him to the synagogues of the maskers,
-
so that if he found any who were of the way,
-
whether men or women. So don't think you can escape
-
bout women. Kept to you, my husband, can you ready,
-
men or women? He might bring them bound to Jerusalem. Okay,
-
so bringing them to prison. Now, as he journeyed, he
-
came near the Mascus and suddenly, ever say suddenly, suddenly
-
a light shone around him from heaven, and then he
-
fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him.
-
Now, I want to start off.
-
By saying, do you know that your journey with the
-
lot starts with an encounter. There needs to be an
-
encounter some of us, right, we come to church, we've
-
been in church for a long time, but we've never
-
encountered Jesus at a personal level. So it becomes someone
-
else's faith. It becomes my leader's faith, my parents' faith.
-
I want to speak to our young people. This has
-
to be your own faith, a personal encounter with who
-
Jesus is. And do you know, as bad as we
-
all make it out, make us Aul out to be right,
-
most of us.
-
Right, if we were God and we had someone like Saul,
-
what we.
-
Do zepp him? No? Now, think about it. If you
-
were God and you had someone like Saul persecuting your church,
-
what would you do? Not? Very nice things? Right? I
-
mean of course you will like lock him out, get
-
him out of the way, right, don't let him come
-
near us. Oh, but Jesus very different, No radical, because
-
even with the worst. How did Paul later on describe himself,
-
I'm the chief of sinners, the chief, you know, the
-
worst of the Lord. Like if you can think of
-
someone bad, think that that's worse. No, maybe make that
-
one hundred times worse. And that's how Saul saw himself.
-
Paul saw himself. Okay, so he's there, and then Jesus
-
came to meet with him. You think about it, Jesus
-
is not going to miss anyone out. If you think
-
that you are the worst of the worst, the most
-
hopeless of the hopeless, can I give you good news.
-
Jesus is coming for you in a good way. He
-
does not want to leave you the way you are, right,
-
And that's why he came to Saul personally. He had
-
an encounter with him, and so he called him by name.
-
Do you think Jesus knows your name? He knows every
-
one of us by name, so we call him Saul. Saul,
-
why are you persecuting me? All right? And this is
-
the question that led to this message verse five, And
-
he said who are you?
-
Who are you?
-
Lord? Now, this might throw you off right in your Bible,
-
you might say, hey, but he already called him lord
-
war It's like, who are you?
-
You know this what Lord?
-
And this is what I'm getting at, is Jesus your lord.
-
He already called him lord, but he still had this
-
question who are you? So it's a bit puzzling right
-
to say, hey, who are you?
-
A father?
-
Like? Can you imagine you go to your dad and
-
say who are you father? Okay? So this lord, I
-
realize is when he says this lord, right, it just
-
basically means and a respectful term for someone with authority.
-
So he recognized, right, he's like breeding threats and he's
-
trying to put people in prison. And then something divine happened. Right,
-
Is it normal every day that you have a voice
-
from heaven like shining around you? If it happens, please
-
tell me, she okay, I just want to hear your experience.
-
It's not an everyday experience.
-
But he recognized it's someone divine and he's so he's
-
basically asking this question, who are you, sir? Respectful term?
-
Who are you sir? Right? And so what did the
-
lord say? And the lords? I am Jesus whom you
-
are persecuting.
-
It is hard for you to kick against the goats.
-
Isn't that a very strange thing for Jesus to say, like,
-
who are you? I'm Jesus, stop kicking the goads. Hey,
-
we talk about so many gods.
-
G O A T now god g O A d oh.
-
So maybe God is the word of the day. What
-
does it mean?
-
Do you understand what it means? That it is hard
-
to kick against the goadts. Have you ever asked yourself
-
that question? Well, what does it mean? Tell me, I
-
don't know where I appreciate you before? Not?
-
Do you do you know what it means? It's hard
-
to kick against the goads?
-
Don't know? Don't know?
-
Say, don't know that I tell you?
-
So if you look at this picture, now, basically what
-
is the god? So? Yes, why are you persecuring? So
-
it begins with an encounter. So Jesus met with Saul.
-
Let's go to the next like now in the olden
-
days when they are these are farmers right, so they
-
are plowing the land.
-
Okay, what animals do you used to plow the land? Cattle?
-
Bulls? Right?
-
So they will yoke them up. Do you see that?
-
Yog? And that's why a lot of the analogy in
-
the Bible is using farbing energy. Right, Jesus says, you know,
-
do not be unyoke with unbelievers. Okay, but Jesus says,
-
take on my yoke. Do you want to be yoke
-
to Jesus? Not yahn yoke? That means you're bound with Jesus.
-
You know, do you want to be bound with Jesus,
-
I don't know. Someone was like, Nola, it's too heavy.
-
But Jesus said, I will carry the load. Because that's
-
the verse that says, come to me, all of you
-
who are weary and heavy laden? Do you see the
-
conversation that the what Jesus is trying to say? If
-
you god yourself to me, right, if you're tied to me,
-
then I will carry your load. How many of us
-
want that? We want Jesus to carry all the lord
-
and then we free go into our own thing. Right,
-
We're like Jesus, you said, the letlad then I can
-
live my life however I want. But do you know
-
that when you're walking with someone, you actually have to
-
align your life with that person. So how many of
-
us are actually aligning ourselves with Jesus? Walk up walking
-
with him, walking with him? And so basically now all
-
of us are like sheep who have gone astray on.
-
It sounds like a song. It is a song, but
-
it's also in scriptures. Okay. And the thing about us,
-
right is we like to turn to the left and
-
turn to the right corhy not as you don't do this,
-
are you to do do it? As you don't look
-
up everybody look up like that? Allah, right, don't look
-
up that everyone to look up. So the farmer is
-
asking the god to go straight? And what will they do?
-
Go left or go right?
-
Normal humans?
-
Right, we like to turn to the left or turn
-
to the right. Do everything we want to do. Okay. Now,
-
the farmer has a device and it's called the God.
-
The God is the thing that you see that farmer using, right,
-
and it's a wooden thing. At the end of it,
-
there's a sharp, pointy thing. And what does he do
-
with it? So every time the goat the cattle that
-
is walking together, when they turn to the left or
-
to the right, right, the farmer will use it to
-
prick ouch right. So you're supposed to go straight and
-
then you turn. Let what would the farmer do? But ah,
-
so that you will turn back to the straight and
-
narrow path. Do you see that straight and narrow path?
-
Oh?
-
I want to turn to that right now. O. Cool,
-
Now I'm going back on the straight and narrow path.
-
Right.
-
And So what Saul was doing at that time is
-
whatever that he was doing with persecuting the Lord, he
-
was kicking against the ghost. Now, how many of you
-
if you kick against something shop, What will happen to you?
-
Pay for on?
-
And because he's struggling, right, he's trying like, no, I
-
want to go my way, on, go my way. I'm kicking. Oh,
-
you're poking me a kick, right. Normally, if something is
-
spoking you, then you're like, mosquito, come to you. What
-
you do You're like, oh, come, come, come, prick me,
-
prick me, prick me? How many?
-
What will you do to the mosquito? You wag cla.
-
So as you're walking right, you have no visibility. Something
-
is poking you behind. What you do you kick against it.
-
You're trying to get rid of that thing. But Jesus
-
is saying, why are you kicking at the goats? It
-
is hard for you. It means you're gonna hurt yourself.
-
And so what Jesus was trying to tell Saul is
-
is useless to persecute me. If you continue persecuting me,
-
you are going to get hurt, right, And Saul recognized
-
this because this was a proverb use in the Roman sanctuary,
-
so he understood this term. All of us don't understand
-
that because we all don't recko one right, no bulls anyways.
-
So so now Saul had.
-
This recognition, is like, okay, this Jesus is someone else,
-
And I thought, yeah, Jesus, whom I'm trying to persecute
-
is someone different, someone not that who I think he is. Okay.
-
So then so then that this becomes his response now right,
-
So the thing is right. I don't know when you
-
met with Jesus, how would you respond. Is it like, oh, okay,
-
yeah Jesus okay? Or was there a genuine fear, a
-
genuine astonishment, like.
-
Recognition that who Jesus is?
-
Because look at verse six he says, so he trembling
-
and astonish, say, sir, what do you want me to do?
-
How many of us as we encounter the Lord Jesus,
-
our first response to him is what do you want
-
me to do?
-
What do you want me to do?
-
It's not I tell you what to do, eh Jesus.
-
You think about your own prayer life, how many of
-
us the type or the pattern of our prayer? It's like, Jesus,
-
can you do this? Can you bless can you do this?
-
Can you provide? Can you solve this problem? But Saul's
-
encounter with him was what do you want me to do?
-
What do you want me to do. So he's catching
-
onto something. Are you catching something? What do you want
-
me to do? It's not what I want you to
-
do for me, God, okay, catch that. And then the
-
Lord said to him, arise and go into the city,
-
and you will be told what you must do. Verse seven.
-
And the man who journeyed him too, speechless, hearing a
-
voice and seeing no one. So there's this encounter with him.
-
Let's let's hear what goes on after this versus. Then
-
saul A rose from the ground, and when his eyes
-
were open, so you tried opening his eyes. He saw
-
no one. Actually it was he was blinded at this point. Blinded, yeah, blinded.
-
But they let him by the hand and brought him
-
into Damascus verse nine. And he was three days without sight,
-
and neither ate nor drank. Okay, Now, every encounter that
-
you have with Jesus will lead you to this place
-
of a deep search. Have you been there? Have you
-
come to this place where you were in this place?
-
You know when I read this verse nine, right, three
-
days without sight?
-
Do you think he see light or you see darkness?
-
Imagine me?
-
Imagine with me. Is it darkness that you see? Darkness? Right?
-
You can't see anything without sight, and he ate nothing.
-
He drank nothing. How many of you faster three days before?
-
No food?
-
No? No, it sounds like he was pretty desperate. Yeah,
-
that spread for the truth. How many of you have
-
really come to this place where you wrestle with the Lord? No?
-
Honestly, I need.
-
You to recognize where you are in your journey as
-
a Christian all this world? Did you have an encounter
-
with him? And in that encounter, did it leads you
-
to a place of search, of deep search of who
-
Jesus is really? Who is Jesus to you?
-
Do you know that? I think that was his main question?
-
What would you be thinking about if you were saw
-
at the point? Think about it? Well, what are some
-
of the thoughts that you might be having at this point?
-
Habez aha?
-
Just very honest. Habe is like, God, woe is me?
-
What do I do? Forever?
-
Black? Yeah? You know? True? Hey, actually it's true. You know.
-
I tell you a story, real story. So my mom
-
in law went for a catrick surgery. Uh, And so
-
she went for one already, and she was fine immediately
-
she could see after the surgery, right, So she was fine.
-
And then she was discharged and then a few months
-
later he went she went for the other cat track surgery,
-
and this time, right after the surgery, she could not see.
-
So guess what she panicked. She panicked, and guess what.
-
Her BP shot up high. She's supposed to come home
-
at three pm. One No, so her BP shot up high,
-
and she's like, I cannot see, I cannot she's panicking.
-
And so what happens was they sent her to the emergency,
-
to the er and they say, okay, I think her
-
blood pressure was so high on eighty, you know, hundred eighty.
-
And they're like, okay, I think to be saved, let's
-
do a brain scan and lo and behold, they found
-
out that there was a bleeding in a brain. Okay,
-
So a bleeding in the brain, it actually usually means
-
it's a froke, right, But of course, you know, different
-
doctors have different opinions. You know, normally, if it's like
-
a high BP, it will not lead to a struck
-
straight away, but there must be an underlying thing like
-
But of course at the time we didn't know, right,
-
we thought straight BP, heiden, you know, you get a
-
bleeding in a brain anyways.
-
So but she could not see and that's why.
-
She panicked, And so Jesse is saying that, can you
-
imagine if you're blind for treating you don't? Of course
-
we read now in hindsight, we know a lot of
-
three days out the day you receive his side. But
-
if you're in that position, you're like, gone, I'm gonna
-
lose my sight forever. What's happening to me? Can you
-
say as the consjongness? Now, a little consjongness? Okay? What else?
-
What else might he be thinking at this point? Feeling anyone? Don't? Noah?
-
What is it?
-
What did I do to deserve this?
-
Very thanks for that, because that's all our question, true
-
or not, especially when you're going through a hard time?
-
What did I do to deserve this?
-
Hey?
-
Actually that's true. You know who is a man of God?
-
I am doing everything for God? Why am I going
-
through this right now? Right? So there was this real
-
search of the heart and mind and He's just like,
-
I'm not gonna eat I'm not I don't have epithite
-
to eat nothing. I'm just in this place like looking
-
for answer. I'm looking for answer the truth now you
-
see in and can I tell you that that's a
-
good place to be. I would rather you have that
-
deep search than to go through your entire life just
-
being on surface in your relationship with the lawyer, because
-
nothing will change for you. No really, nothing will change
-
for you if you live your Christian life just on
-
the surface. I didn't not go deepler. No, no, no, no no.
-
I tell you it's a good thing.
-
It's a good thing.
-
To go and engage, like I said, just now right,
-
you want to go with God, go on hundred percent.
-
It's at it all or nothing. You know, it's all
-
or nothing. So don't play church, friends, don't play church.
-
We want you to be fully in. And so Saul
-
was fully into this engaging mode, asking asking whoever it
-
is out there, what is the truth right, so that
-
the deep work of transformation is happening right now for him.
-
Now, guess what.
-
There's this other guy in the character and his name
-
is Anna Nayas.
-
You heard of him.
-
Good guy, by guy, good guy. But even go guys, right,
-
God also wants to transform. Let's read verse ten. Now,
-
there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananaius, and
-
to him, the Lord said in the vision Ananaius, and
-
he said, here.
-
I am Lord.
-
So the Lord said to him, arise and go to
-
the street called straight and inquire at the house.
-
Of Judas for one called soul of Tassus.
-
For behold he is praying, and in a vision he
-
has seen a man named Ananaius coming in and putting
-
his hand on him, that he might receive his side.
-
And what the annas say, Yes, of course I will go. Hey, no,
-
I thought he's a good guy. He's like, yes, send me, Lord,
-
here I am, send me. You know you always sing
-
that song send me. And then Anonaius answered, Lord, But
-
you know I've heard from many about this man, how
-
much harm he has done to your saints in Jerusalem,
-
and here he has authority from the chief priest to
-
buying all who call on your Name's serious, you know,
-
He's like, Jesus, do you know how serious this matter is?
-
You know sometimes we talk to hey, oh you know not.
-
Do you know how serious this threat is? Don't you know?
-
My life is in danger?
-
What? What?
-
What might en? And I is be thinking at this point,
-
think about it, songs sayer you want to dire?
-
You know, hey, Jesus, you.
-
Didn't know he's putting everyone into prison, you know, and
-
you asked me to go and lay hands on him.
-
She's heer.
-
Like I said, some people think Jesus is a lunatic.
-
How is this possible? Right?
-
But the Lord said it go for he is a
-
chosen vessel.
-
Of mind to bear my name before gentle house kings
-
and the children of Israel. Then he said this, for
-
I will show him how many things he must suffer
-
for my name's sake. How many of us say that
-
we want to be disciples of Jesus Christ? You know
-
the song in the new song the second song? Is
-
that a new song? The one the Son of Suffering?
-
When it is new to Mila?
-
I never.
-
Just started this cycle? Wow?
-
I thought this song was so edman, son of suffering.
-
And so if you want to follow Jesus, h you
-
will be called son or daughter of suffering. You know
-
that's what he said, right, for I will show him
-
how many things he must suffer for my name?
-
Say anyone want to follow Jesus? Now?
-
Why so hot? Wanna?
-
I thought being Christians so easy?
-
Right?
-
I think we all love?
-
We all like the love, love, stuffla grace and mercies
-
knew every morning? Where is that pie?
-
How come that's not in this message?
-
No? No, Jesus is gracious and merciful, but the road
-
to him is marked with suffering. It is because Jesus came.
-
He didn't have it all on a bit of roses.
-
That's what the message is. He went to the cross.
-
He himself went to the cross, and it says that
-
if you want to follow me, then you must deny yourself,
-
take up your cross, and then follow me. Are we
-
willing to do that? So something is happening, Something must happen,
-
There must be a change and transformation.
-
And what did anon Ius do then?
-
In verse seventeen, and Annius went his way and entered
-
the house, and laying his hands on him, he said, bro,
-
bro from jess now jesey, now Jesus. If I go
-
to him, he's gonna send me up to lock up.
-
You know. Now he's like brother, brother Saul. What he said,
-
Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on
-
the road as you came, has set me that you
-
may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Amen.
-
So there's this process. Do you see this process of
-
transformation happening for everyone? Saul the bad guy, ann I
-
as the good guy. Everyone needs to go through this transformation? Everyone?
-
What is transformation? What? Okay? Do you have you heard
-
of this word called repentance? Heard of it?
-
Right?
-
What do you understand by this word repentance? Tell me Christians?
-
I know you can give me the textbo answer. Now
-
I want a textbo answer. What do you understand by repentance?
-
You turn? You turn?
-
Okay, explain it a bit more? What is U turn?
-
How would you explain you turn to someone who doesn't
-
know Jesus? How would you explain it? Turn from your
-
evil ways?
-
Do you agree?
-
Okay? Halfway there? You can turn? Okay, let's say this
-
is evil way. This is the right way. You can
-
turn from your evil ways and walk here? True? Is
-
that what full repentance is? Then? What is full repentance?
-
Turn away from your wicked ways and turn towards God? Right,
-
there needs to be a change. Right, and the word change.
-
The word repentance basically means matter noya. This is a
-
Greek word matter noya, and it has this word matter.
-
What is meta? Oh? You think about meta? Right now? Ai? Right?
-
What is meta?
-
Change?
-
Oh?
-
The answer is there?
-
Thank you very much, thanks actually for helping your friends out.
-
Meta is changed? What is the other word that you
-
learn in school science. Meta?
-
What a metamorphosis?
-
This on?
-
You know?
-
Right? So what does metamorphosis mean? Change states the form? Right,
-
the morph is a form. So you're changing from a
-
state or the form of a larva into a state
-
of a butterfly. Different form now, right, So that's meta morphosis.
-
But what about meta no yah? What does that mean?
-
What does meta noya mean? Oh, your untilsolarity. It's a
-
change of your mind. It's a change of your understanding.
-
It's a change of who you perceive Jesus to be.
-
Do you know that when Jesus came on to earth
-
right after he was baptized, he was anointed by the
-
Holy Spirit. What was the first thing that he preached?
-
What did Jesus preach? Repentance? He didn't say God loves
-
your world. That's how we preach to our friends, right, Hey,
-
God really loves you. Then you're like, so what, But
-
Jesus came and came hard. He came and says, come
-
and change your mind. There needs to be a mindset
-
that needs to change because the Kingdom of Heaven is
-
at hand. Because you know why, we all have a
-
wrong understanding of who Jesus is. So let's not blame
-
it all on Saul. All of us, even though you've
-
been walking with Jesus for a long time, we all
-
have a not a full comprehension of who Jesus is.
-
So Jesus is saying, I need you to have a
-
change of mind of who I am, and then I
-
as good guy. He needs to have a change of
-
mindset right of God's plan and God's purpose for Saul.
-
Because most of us would have written Saul of Honestly,
-
none of us would have given Saul a chance. Nobody
-
would think that he's gonna turn around, Nobody except Jesus. Right,
-
he says, I will have a plan for him, and
-
I will show him how much he must suffer for
-
my name's sake Verse eighteen. Immediately say immediately, well, this
-
transformation is immediately. Immediately there fell from his eyes something
-
like skills, and he received his side at once, and
-
he arose and was baptized.
-
Do you see that?
-
You see how the Holy Spirit is the one that
-
will cause our perception, our blindness to fall off like skills.
-
And that's why our.
-
Theme is revival right this year. Revival means it's the
-
work of the Holy Spirit. I can preach until the
-
cows come home. But unless there is the power of
-
the Holy Spirit, you will not have the skills removed
-
from your eyes. You will still be blinded by by
-
what you think Jesus is or who Jesus is to you?
-
All right, he received his side at once, and he
-
arose and was baptized. And when he had received food,
-
he was strengthened. And then Saul spent some days with
-
his disciples at Damascus. Now this is the full transformation happening.
-
What do you now say of food the Lord Jesus is?
-
Who is Jesus to you?
-
My first question? Who is Jesus to Saul? Verse twenty.
-
Immediately he preached Christ in the synagogues that he is there.
-
Who is he Son of God? Now do you understand
-
the connotation of calling Jesus the son of God?
-
What does that mean?
-
If you call Jesus the son of God? What does
-
this mean? What does that mean for your life and
-
my life? Tell me His sovereign thank you for that. So,
-
when you have this understanding that Jesus is God whom
-
you are praying to, how will your prayer change? Now?
-
Knowing that he's sovereign.
-
It's gonna affect you, right, it's gonna affect.
-
How you pray. Do you pray from a position of
-
defeat or victory victory?
-
How many of us pray defeat?
-
The prayers like I'm not sure? Like God, are you
-
sure you can do this? But do you know what's happening? God?
-
Like Jesus isn't Nola? Do you see that? Do you
-
see how when you look at Jesus as Son of God,
-
as God, now your prayers changed.
-
You pray now in victory.
-
You're like saying, Jesus, I know you've got this. You've
-
got this God, I don't have to worry about this anymore. Yes,
-
I receive a report, Yes, bad health report does the matter?
-
Yes, I'm gonna lose my job.
-
But so what Hello? So what do you believe God
-
is in control? Do you believe Jesus is in control?
-
If you believe He is in control, then you'll say, God,
-
I know you will settle this for me. Lack of finances, Jesus,
-
I trust in you, even if I have to break
-
eat bread and meggie me It's okay. I still got food.
-
It's gonna be okay.
-
Do you see.
-
Do you see the difference now in how you perceive
-
who Jesus is how you will affect your entire life
-
when you know, when we say things like Jesus is everything,
-
is he really everything? That means that if you lose everything,
-
is he enough? I'm gonna say that again. If you
-
lose everything that you care for, love, cherish in this world,
-
is Jesus going to be enough? Because this is a
-
very real question. Yeah, Because if you love something that
-
is very deep, very dear to you, most of the
-
time the question is why is this happening to me?
-
How can you do this to me? God? Right? There
-
is a misunderstanding of who God is.
-
And then we go.
-
Into this spiritual spiral and they're like, I don't know.
-
I don't believe in God anymore. My faith is shaken
-
because I can't trust this God. But the problem is
-
we don't know this God. You see the problem? We
-
don't know God? And friends, can I really want to
-
encourage you, how many of you really believe that this
-
is the word of God? How many of you really
-
believe this is a word of God? Then how many
-
of you read the Word of God every day? Do
-
you see what you said, and what you do is
-
completely different. You say, yeah, this is the most this
-
is the authority, this is the word of God. It
-
brings life, you know, it brings direction, it gives me peace,
-
And then we don't read it law. So what are
-
we actually saying. You're saying, that's a lilah Jesus. You
-
know it's good for Jonathan, it's good for Abigail, it's.
-
Good for everyone else except me.
-
What we say. So now when people say things to me,
-
I'm like, you can say whatever you want, but show me,
-
show me how you live your life, because I think
-
that is a true, true test of what you believe
-
in how you believe it. Because okay, friends, I want
-
to say this right in loving warning that we do
-
not want to come to a place when Jesus tells us,
-
I do not know you, because if we've never opened
-
this word of God on our own, and can I
-
tell you, I am very concerned when I hear some
-
of my leaders tell me that the only engagement that
-
they have with the Word of God is Scripture of
-
the Day, Verse of the Day. How are we gonna
-
build our faith when we just read that five minute
-
verse of the Day and like, go about our day.
-
Then is Jesus everything? Probably not? And you know it
-
and I know it. He is that five minute that
-
you think you owe him and then you go about
-
your day. So then of course you're asking, but I
-
really don't know. I never hear God's voice. Of course, law,
-
you didn't go to this horse hello, If you never
-
went to the sauce, then of course you cannot know
-
God's way.
-
You don't know what he wants for you. It's as
-
simple as that.
-
Right.
-
If you never ask for.
-
The person who knows the direction to go clang, how
-
will you ever get to clean yourself? Why I go
-
to klangl I so don't know.
-
You think about it, you're trying to.
-
Then my question is do you even want to get
-
to Clang? God claim pe here not I don't know.
-
We must go to Clang?
-
Then you're he takes away from this sage. You must
-
go to Clang.
-
No no, no, no no. But you see do you
-
see that if you don't don't have the word, a
-
love for the Word of God, it's very hard to
-
grow in our faith. Can I tell you every Sunday
-
that you come here, It's not enough France, it's not
-
enough for you to grow your faith, and then then
-
we get very shallow Christians who doubt every single thing
-
that happens in their life because you're not anchored in
-
the world. So my encouragement to you is, can you
-
really get serious with the word of God? Because Pasadan
-
and Jess and the team cannot do anything to transform you.
-
Only the Word of God can and the Holy Spirit.
-
Right, it is that there's something that you need to
-
do because God knows what you do on Monday to Saturday.
-
They don't. And so how serious are you? How serious
-
are you with God? I want us to get serious, friends, Right,
-
we really need to get serious. We need to prepare
-
our hearts and our days. Do you know at the
-
end of the day, right this word Lord? Have you
-
ever called God Lord Jesus as my Lord? Have you
-
ever in your life done that? What does lordship mean?
-
Lordship mean means you acknowledge him as sovereign, right, that
-
he is God, He's in control, he's all powerful, he
-
knows everything. I love to live like that. Man means
-
I don't need to know my Shah. I don't need
-
to think. Okay, God, I want you to think. Or
-
so I said something from doctor DANIELA say, don't do things,
-
no need to think it so hard? Okay, okay, okayay clarify,
-
noned to think so hard? True? Do you know that
-
life as a Christian can be very simple? Don't overcomplicate things.
-
Just say I only know Jesus is God. That's it,
-
and I'll follow whatever he says. That's it. Hey, true, No,
-
it's simple, simple life. Not easy to do, lah, not
-
easy to obey. But do you know, obedience gets easier.
-
It does get easy, just like this obedience. The more
-
you disobey, the easier it is. Obedience is hard at
-
the beginning, but the more you obey, the easier it becomes.
-
You know. And so wow, where did we come to?
-
Right now? God wants us to live a life of
-
obedience because you remember we read Matthew seven. Just now
-
the warning I gave you the warning verse He says,
-
no one who tells me Lord Lord will enter the
-
kingdom unless they do the will of God. So how
-
do we know the will of God? Friends? How do
-
you know the will of God? The word? Not doctor Daniel,
-
He will not give you the answer. Chat Jpit will
-
not give you the answer. Claude, which is more powerful,
-
will not give you the answer. They are confused. Do
-
you know know this is a lot of news now
-
about the Ai confusion because Ai is not God. God
-
is God. And I wanted to bring you to this verse,
-
and I think this is a very important verse for
-
us to understand. Can you turn to Romans ten, Romans ten,
-
Romans ten, Okay, let's go to verse nine. Er Romans
-
ten nine says this that if you confess with your
-
mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that
-
God had raised him from the day, you will be safe.
-
Are you familiar with this, firse? So sometimes I think
-
that our lives as believers, we have not confessed Jesus
-
as Lord. I don't know what you confess him as
-
you know? What do you confess? Do you confess him
-
as Lord? And what that means? The lordship of Jesus
-
means every need will bow, every town confess that Jesus
-
Christ is Lord. Many of you have bought your knees
-
in your prayer before the Lord, in your prayer time,
-
in your own prayer time. Because this position, what position
-
is this? It's a position of surrender, It's a position
-
of humility, It's a position of saying, God, you are
-
my master, you are my lord. That's what lord means.
-
You know you are my boss. And so when I
-
am in this position, I'm not gonna say, Jesus, I
-
tell you what to do. A It's more of like, Jesus,
-
you tell me what to do? You tell me how
-
do I make this decision? You tell me what kind
-
of relationship I should be in. This is the lordship
-
Philippians too, every knee will bow. I don't know if
-
every Christian here has ever about your knee to the Lord.
-
You don't have to show it here, but in your
-
quiet time in your own room. Have you ever bought
-
your knee to the Lord Jesus Christ? We say, you know,
-
we like to sing praises. Right, you are Lord, you
-
are God. But have you ever bought yourself and just
-
acknowledged God? You our Lord, Jesus. You are Lord over
-
my life, and that means you have control over everything.
-
I surrender before you. Amen. Are you catching something? I
-
think this position is something that I remind myself because
-
if I find it very hard to bow my knees now,
-
I don't know. Okay, there is for these kind of
-
jokes going around here. It's like, are you oh, very
-
painful now to bow our knees because it's creaking and
-
aching through not think because I mean, yes, oh saying
-
orthopedic alaraity. But even if it hurts, would you still bow?
-
Would you still bow your body? Would you still bow
-
your heart? Would you bow your mind to the lordship
-
of Jesus Christ. Amen. So I'm gonna bring this to
-
a close. I'm gonna ask extreme to come and be
-
ready to minister. And I want to really minister to
-
you and give you an opportunity to respond. Now.
-
This is how I want to call for you.
-
First one, I really believe that there needs to be
-
a baptism of the Holy Spirit, because, like I said,
-
if you've never encountered the Holy Spirit as a real person,
-
you only know God the Father, you only know Jesus.
-
What's missing is the Holy Spirit. And Holy Spirit is
-
the one that is going to empower us to do
-
what Jesus wants us to do. Amen. He is the
-
Spirit of Jesus. Jesus is not here with us now,
-
but the Spirit of Jesus, the Holy Spirit. We want
-
to honor him, We want to give him room in
-
our lives to work to transform. Do you know I can?
-
Like I said, without the Holy Spirit, there will be
-
no conviction. Without the Holy Spirit, there will be no
-
change in your life. You're going to find it such
-
a struggle, like why I can't do my quiet time?
-
Why can't I read? Why is this bad habit so hot?
-
Why can't I discipline myself with the phone? Do you
-
know I think right? For many of us, this is Lord.
-
For many of us, this is Lord. It's not Jesus.
-
How you spend your time, how you spend your money?
-
Is it?
-
Did you ask the Lord?
-
So the first group is this for those who desire
-
for a baptism of the Holy Spirit. You're saying, Jesus,
-
baptize me with the Holy Spirit, because Jesus said, I
-
will send you a helper.
-
Yeah, do you want to help her?
-
We leave, we lead, and we leave defeated lives because
-
we do not have the power of the Holy Spirit
-
and acts. Church believes that all believers need the power,
-
the presence, the person of the Holy Spirit. Okay, so
-
this is gonna be for you. Just get ready to
-
come up as we open the altar. Now a second
-
girl of people, I sense that God wants us to
-
come to a place of repentance. If you've never repented before,
-
and what does that mean. It's not saying, it's not
-
saying I feel guilty about something.
-
Oh I feel sorry.
-
You know I'm guilt laden right now, my emotions are
-
sid no repentance. As you heard just now, repentance is
-
a change of change off, change off, change off your mind.
-
You want to say, God, I'm gonna change my mind
-
about who you are. You are no longer just a
-
good teacher. You're no longer just my friends. God, you
-
are my lord, and I'm going to bow down to
-
your lordship. That's what repentance means. Repentance means, I am
-
bowing down to your lordship. I'm going to let you
