12+1 Core Values: Spirit Filled | Pr Dr Daniel Kong

You're listening to a message to go from acts church.

We hope this message will light up your day.

I will just quickly start up an introduction, all right,

because we are actually going.

Through a series in the next thirteen weeks or so.

Okay, that's why I say you'll see me more often

and this is gonna be across the next three months.

Okay, and we go topic by topic.

Some of the topics are already on the content page

and see very beautifully made. But just allow me to

just work through some things first before we dive in.

All right, So now you will see the title says

Chelve plus one.

Hey, why child plus one or not the diner? I

explain a bit. Okay, but why call values? Now?

What are values? How do you define values? What comes

to mind when you think of values? Good stuff, not

so good stuff, usually the good stuff.

Right.

So, as a church, we are actually sometimes define as

the values that we hold more than the things that

we do, sometimes with more than the things that we believe.

Right.

I always remember when I was young, people used to

tell me that, oh, send so and so this kid

to you know, Sunday school, because not because they are believers,

but the church have got good values, all right, and

that is something that we are part of our identity

as a church.

Okay.

So and if you've been around church long enough, you

will hear vision statements. You hear mission statements, okay, And

don't get me wrong, all these are good stuff, right,

but they are not merely enough.

Okay.

Vision statements and vision statements, mission statements and also vision statements.

So vision, just to break it down very simplistically, vision

tells us where we are going as a church, okay.

Mission tells us why we are going, okay, But equally

as important, it's actually the values itself. And the simplest

way to painted is like a car, okay, a vehicle.

If you have a.

Dream car, as beautiful as your car maybe in terms

of its pain job, as powerful as the engine could be,

even if you have letter seats and a very power

that's the engine, powerful engine, right. Without the proper fuel,

it will not go very far. Essentially, you will not

reach your destination. You will not be able to achieve

what it's designed to do. And therefore values sometimes is

also tied into almost the equivalent of a fuel so

that the vehicle can do what is designed to do.

Are we okay, that so we can see some introduction here.

I'm trying to get there because I want to make

sure that I give you the notes that is more

tailored to to what this says here.

But again this is what I prepare beforehand.

But you can see vision is the where, mission is

the why, and values can sometimes be like the feel Okay,

break it so far now values? So what is values for?

What does it? Why does it matter? And this is

where you start off with your first key point? Okay,

I've got a slide there, next slide, and thank you

chet GPT for helping me with this, kidding getting I

put someone notes together and of course graphically it AI

helps me put it quite nicely. Okay, but I'll summarize

some of these things. Now, what is it for? What's

the fuel for?

All right?

Values, as I mentioned, is the fuel few gets you

from to ensure.

You complete the journey. What do you mean by journey?

This journey is destinations for us as fellow believers. Okay,

so as you know, life can throw you expression, throw

your lemons, yeah yeah, give you know, and I do

that make lemonades out of it?

No? No, no, okay, so life will always be feeling challenges.

Okay, The road, if you use journey as a road,

can sometimes be a little bit windy, a little bit bumpy,

a little bit uh haphazard.

It's not smooth all the time. Okay.

So therefore there could be some obstacles, There could be

some opposition, There could be some disappointments, some hurts, even

moments where your commitment to that journey is tested, right

and now, in those moments, just based on pure vision

and mission can sometimes may not get you to your

destination as well.

Okay, But values actually sustains us.

It helps us remain firm, it helps us remain faithful

to the journey, and also helps us overcome the advert.

Okay, so this is what it is.

The feel is for another word for values can sometimes

be termed as character. Layman's them character, right, they say, oh,

good values, good character, et cetera. Synonymous and character was character.

Character is something that is. It's like an identity kind

of thing, right now? Can character be changed?

Can you.

Be somebody else now and then somebody else later on?

Maybe? I don't know.

Character is meant to be you know, within you a

core you know, a core trait, all right, So character

really is right in definition, is when nobody sees you,

when nobody's.

Watching, that is your true character. Get it?

So values actually shape how we respond in the unscene

when nobody is looking, how we respond, like sometimes I

wish Joe right now, we're all very nice and smiley people,

but then in the car park later on when nobody

sees if you're tinted windows, right, can be very differently, right,

because why not count the boomer? So yeah, but one

can say is values actually shape our response? But of

course I'm joke aside, it shapes is how we respond

to the difficult situations as well. Okay, so that's what

it is for Okay, so right o key points.

That's fine. Now where does it come from? The sauce? Right?

The sauce is rooted in X two.

And I'll explain why we go to X two in

a while because all this is actually scripture.

So by the way, today we're meaning to be focused

on X two.

Why because that's the model church, right, so you're going

to be called as a church who is uh, you

know good? In our core values, we will refer to

X two okay, uh? And you know this right, Heaven

and Earth will pass away, but my words will always

will by no means pass away.

Okay, this is found mattis twenty four thirty five.

Okay, So therefore whatever it is written will remain true indefinitely.

And that's why we always look to the true source

with four reference in terms of what our core values are. Okay,

now child plus one? Why child plus one? You will

see that list over here, the second show that list.

Thanks again, thank you CHAJPT for helping me put all

this together. You will see all the references and all

of it shows X two with the exception of discipleship focus. Okay,

that's why it's plus one. Okay, if you look very

closely at this is the closest probably two forty two.

Okay.

Now why do I say this is because you know,

the discipleship versus is mainly founding, Matthew, This part in

the closest I can find at least two forty two

forty two talks about being in fellowship, talks about you know,

breaking brick together. So that's the equivalent not really true discipleship.

But discipleship is also part of the Great Commission. So

we're just gonna tie together. That's why it's a plus one, okay.

But otherwise the rest and the bulk of the whole

other little bits or spirit field, Christ Centered Kingdom, Minded

da da Da da da all is found in the

Book of Acts and specifically Extracter two. So very how packed,

very rich passage. And there's also a sequence you can

see here.

All right.

So that's just then introduction, okay, and today I'm going

to be jumping straight into the first one, which is

spirit field that comes from those verses over there, So

hopefully you understand where we're hitting, all right, So what

is the goal?

What's this for? Your second question? The third question over there?

What's it for? This is the goal?

Right, we are trying to build something now values right

they say, stay view forever, and that's why something that

they say, Oh, it's good to go to a very

good school, so that you're foundation is set right so

that you can be then independent and you operate, uh,

you know, in a good manner. Right, So we are

trying to build these foundations for you or to shape

the core the core value to ensure of course it's

colledge again, uh, mapped to the original design, so that

we're building something that is going to be sustainable, something

that can outlast even your leaders, even your pastors, your elders,

et cetera. Why Because one, we're not going to be

here forever.

That's one. Sometimes people also, you know, for whatever reason.

They may move church, okay, or for ill, for sick,

pass on, et cetera. Okay, So again, but values and

all that will outlast because once it's anchored in in you,

and this anchoring red comes from the Word of God.

So world of God, it's going to outlast all of us.

It's going to outage all of us, Okay, And that's

why it's important.

That's the goal.

Also to see our future generation right always talk about

the young, how they grow up well, et cetera. We

want to make sure it is better for them as well. Now,

the last point over there before I jump straight into

my the word is what should we watch out for?

These are things that sometimes can creep in they don't realize.

Values are also considered what we call non negotiables or

in other words, non compromisable.

What do I mean by that? I'll tell you a story.

When I was in my campus days, we this was

based when we were broad Okay, so we hired a

people mover and we were traveling to a campsite, all right,

and this people mover to diesel. Okay, so my friend

went to the petrol station. Guess what, I filled it

up with regular patrol gasoline. Now the same way. Know

what happens when you filled it up with regular gasoline

or patrol.

Okay, it's not so bad.

I won't like damage or kill the engine or whatever,

but it will not move. And the only way to

fix the problem is to actually flush it out. So

you can tell that there was a very expensive exercise.

We had to pay a lot of money to get

it fixed. It's a rental.

Yeah.

But what I'm trying to say here is also to

remind us again that's why it's not noncompromisable. You cannot

exchange God's values with something else, just akin to using

either diesel in a petrol car or patrol in a

diesel vehicle, yc versa.

You can't.

Some things we can say, Okay, we can relax a bit,

like you know, how we dress, whether it's wearing green

or blue, those.

Kind of things. We can talk about preference.

That's fine, but core values of a church cannot be

compromisable when you go abroad when your parents are not around,

don't go and you know, sleep over at you know,

opposite gender as well. Those are the again based on

core values. If your core values are strong, you wouldn't

do that, right, But if it's not foundationally, it's not there,

then yeah, whatever, right, So that's why we are saying

that these are important. And sometimes people say, oh, these

core values are shaped by experiences, what you went through,

and experiences can be very interesting, because why, it's very subjective.

Your experience and my experience is very different. Right.

Sometimes we are lucky we get some teachings first and

then we experience something and then we know how to

behave or act and it guides us through those experiences.

But sometimes you don't, we get thrown in the deep end.

We get those experiences first and then literally learn oh

oh no, wonder, I cannot, I struggle and all that. Right,

So again it's subjective. That's why we always say, right,

it is always non compromisble because you have to always

go back to the Word of God. The foundation, the

lasting foundation that will outlift all of us people and

your leaders accessor as well, is the Word of God.

And that's why it is non compromisible, and it's also

non negotiable. Why are we saying all this because we

want to equip people so that before crisis comes you

already know what to do, not a damaged control situation, right,

or how do we get out of this kind of situation?

Hope you catch round and say, so, this is what

you're supposed to watch out for. So, as I mentioned

to you, in the next three months, we're going to

go through all those things as early as today, and

then we will end the series working so far. Okay, brilliant,

Look that's the introduction part of things. And let me

just turn to the next so you can turn to Spiritfeld. Okay, Now,

as I mentioned to you, the reason why we are

starting with Spiritfueld, really, how come Spiritfield first? Should it

be Christ centered and all that first?

Right? Explain why? Okay, because again it's an X two.

Now, the church history, if you do not already know,

teaches a lot of things right. It's easy to start

things right, It's.

Hard to finish.

But all of us know if you have a good

and healthy start, you will likely to end and finish well.

So many churches even sometimes can start a passion start

the right people, they say, start the right financial, financial backing,

the right foundation. But after the excitement and all that,

maybe perhaps we do not end escort intended it. That's

why if anybody were to ask you what makes a

church strong, you'll find all sorts of different things that

people will say.

Right.

Some may say, oh, great preaching, great word, or strong leadership.

You know this, this person has been doing Bible college

for X number of years and he's trained in this

displace and all that kind of things. Excellent worship, right,

good programs, very suitable for the demographics that I'm in

all right, and I'm a younger woking adult or I'm

a teen, et cetera. Right, or this church is a

good community, a healthy community, can see them thriving.

Again.

All those are things that you know make the church strong,

but it's not the most important thing. Again, all that's important,

But why do we say this is because what keeps

people faithful true disappointments, And we know disappointments is bound

to happen. Don't you say church anywhere? Okay, church especially right?

Why?

Because we're usually less forgiving when it comes to a

aren't you fellow believer or you act like you know,

people like the kind of thing even unanswered prayer, something

like wrestle we got right, conflict, persecution, suffering, you name it.

And that's why back to this again.

Values is the thing that actually gets you past all this, right,

and that's why we are spending a lot of weeks

on this. And the first value, as I mentioned to you,

is spirit filed. And if you can't read the bottom

text over there, it says there the first value that

changes everything. So if you can think of it as

the thing that binds everything together is actually spirit field.

Now again, most people think it shouldn't.

Be presented, should be word faithful, We shouldn't be prayerful

those other things that go up first.

Again, this is not you know, not on ext Church

saying these things. This is xt Chapter two.

Say it right, and if it's important to Jesus back then,

I don't think it's accidental. It's the way I put it, Okay,

And Jesus even he himself said right, remember in John sixteen,

I have the verses up over there.

Jesus said it would be our advantage if he actually

goes away.

So he's actually saying that I don't worry I go

there's still somebody who's even more important to some extent

than me at this point in time. Right, Why because

he says that it is for your good that I'm

going away. Otherwise I would say, hey, Jesus, why you child,

or why you leave us alone?

Right?

Unless I go away, the advocate will not come to you?

Who's advocate? The Holy Spirit? Right, Jesus is telling us

the most important? Is the Spirit more important than me?

Every like? What can teaching?

Is this a bit blessed femous? That's right, all right,

But that's what the words says. That's what the word says.

And that's but to some extent as well, the truth

is always that once you align with the Spirit, everything

else will align to the Spirit.

It's not in uh.

It's not conflicting es actually all in harmony and would

come together now Matthew twelve thirty one. It says, therefore,

I say to you, every sin and bleasphemy will be forgiven,

will be forgiven men. But the blesphemy against the Spirit

will not be forgiven men. So you see again it's

not bless me against Jesus, no blessphemy against the Spirit.

So again Spirit again, it just highlights that Jesus himself

is saying, give the spirit a bit more priority. Okay,

So that's why we have all those topics over there.

Today we start thinking with spirit filled. And if you

go back to the first church in XTS Chapter two,

we discover these things as well.

It didn't start off by just good preaching.

Even when Peter gave his best sermon, he started off

by acknowledging the spirit, explaining that we're not drunk, right,

not just a powerful word, but the spirit. He didn't

start with small groups. Also, sometimes we start churches with

small groups. We start just with prayer. Again, all those

are good. It did e'ven start with salvations and miracles.

It all started with the Holy Spirit. Because sometimes we

open say it, I can't start a new church, I

can't plant because we need to have the correct foundation,

the backing, a strategic meeting before we go forth. Otherwise

we are set to fail, to fail right, or even

start a prayer meeting first.

Dittet me wrong.

It's all good stuff, but the Spirit must come first.

Even in x chapter two, the Holy Spirit came in

that prayer meeting right. So point number one again, this

is all prepared before I had this this template.

Everything is there. By the way is foundations matter?

Why because the value sustainless when life gets hot. Okay,

and that's what I said. This picture, you can't really

see foundations down there. Buildings are up there. Now, anybody's

seen beautiful buildings before. Have you ever stopped and say, oh,

can I take a picture of the foundation. But do

you know that if the foundation isn't there, that beautiful

building that you see will not be there. So actually,

foundations actually more important than what you see on the exterior.

Okay. And that's why.

Not just extras, but the Book of Acts chapter two

days it starts off by the up part of the

Holy Spirit, and then it ends with the supernatural growth

of the church.

Right, and that is the main ingredient. A thriving church

begins with the Holy Spirit. Right. The read X chapter two.

Of course they call it the Book of X or

the Ax of the Apostles, but you know it can

sometimes be more accurately called the Acts of the Holy Spirit. Okay,

I think that's more powerful. Let's read X chapter two.

Okay, this is.

Where the Holy Spirit came or comes at the Pentecost,

when the day appentecosts came.

They were all together in one place.

Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violin and

wind came from heaven and filled the whole house.

Where they were sitting. All right.

They saw what had seemed to be tongues of fire

that separated and came to rest on each other, all

of them, Remember, all of them will fill the Holy Spirit.

And they began to speak in other tongues as the

spirit enabled them.

So it began with the Holy Spirit.

Right, So this teaches us the important truth that God's

must begin with God's Spirit. Nothing else, no other ingredients,

no other thing takes presidents, not even Jesus to some extent,

all right, And the early Church was not born through power. Power, yes, true,

the spirit, but not how like how we understand power.

So the key here is as exciting as it was.

The Spirit fell first, Then miracles happened. Then three thousand

people got safe. Right, every love acts right, they read

this whole thing. But do you know that if you

read acts too further, right, you read about all the

not so good parts, the persecution, the imprisonment, the rejection,

the suffering, and all that. So again, this is preparing

the church, not just mainly for survival, but to ensure

that they are resilient.

And that's why the spirit is important.

What kept them going, you think, not emotion, not excitement,

definitely not momentum. The spirit is the one that drove them.

And as I said earlier, the values, right, the character

when nobody is watching, that is what kept them going.

And anybody can look spiritual even on a given Sunday

right when things are going well. But character is always

revealed when you're under pressure.

I put it light up here next light Ezac.

Character is who we are when nobody is watching, right.

And this is a good illustration because when you're put

under pressure you can behave very differently. My son has

used to work cooked pressure cooked, I think is a

lingo these days.

Now, when you're cooked right, you behave very differently.

All right, So I mentioned building foundations, right, and people

often do not complement the foundations, but always look at

admiring the building. Nobody say wow, beautiful foundation below the skyscraper. Right,

But do you know that when the whole earth shakes

of quakes, what holds the building together the foundation. So

a building can only rise as deep as the foundation goes. Okay,

and This is similar spiritually. If you go spiritually deep

in field with the spirit, you can rise up higher.

And that's important. So next light, a building can arise

as high as the foundations is deep. The same goes

spiritually all right, So again how do you apply this?

Anybody can worship when they a promotion, your boss gives

you a raise, Thank you Lord, right, and you again

praise God when you get a perfect or good medical

report card.

Right.

Anybody can serve as well, the wholeheartedly when life is

going smoothly, right, easy. But when life becomes difficult what happens?

And that's why Again, when your spirit filled, when the

core values are there, it keeps you going. Will you

still trust God? Will you still obey God? Will you

still remain faithful? And that's why value matters. So the

next question would be, then where does values come from?

Do they come just merely from cultural backgrounds, from your

experience instance that you have out there in the marketplace?

Is it true your preferences that you've had your personality,

I'm an introvert, therefore I will not be speaking people.

And by the way, I always tell people, right, I'm

actually introverted. But the extrud by requirement. All right, but

you asked, yes, I don't like to speak to people,

and but I have to.

It's portfolio.

I was sharing a prayer service about a moment I

refuse to speak to somebody, not that I would choose

not to see someone because I was going to my

introvert the mode, but I ended up speaking to the

person as well, because yeah.

It's just values, because values define us. Right. So again,

where does wally come from.

It's not from experiences and from culture, not from your

personal preferences, not even from your personality.

No, it is built upon God's word.

So point number two. This leads me to point number two.

It's under God's word. Values must be built on scripture.

Otherwise you have a different yard stick. I have a

different yard stick. Pastor kind of said this in his sharing.

He did not want to allow experiences dictate the future.

I mean to say, sometimes, right, the hurts, even the

positives can dictate how you you operate in the future.

But he didn't want to let that withhold him. So

he always go back to the Word. And as difficult

as some of those decisions that he would make for

the future would be, he's still alignment with God's word,

and I hope that this is a testimony of how

character or even core values is more important. And of

course it's call values, as I mentioned to you multiple times,

is based on God's word, right, and that's wisdom. Otherwise

experiencement sorry, experiences can be very emotional, can be raised, subjective,

can also be very temporary.

And we all know this, right, God's words.

Eternal, it doesn't change all, right, Second, Timothy, all scripture

is brief or breath out by God and profitive for

teaching or reproof, for correction, for training. I know all this,

we are very familiar with, right. So this perfectly reminds

us why it's important to use values or elevate values

more than personal experiences. Imagine two people, right, One will say, oh,

I don't think God heals because I pray it and

nothing happened and we have stitches like that, right. And

another person will say, oh, I know God heals because

I pray it and someone recovered. Now, two separate people

to say, one similar approach, but two different experiences.

Who's right?

Both are interpreting God's uh, you know, interpreting God through

different experiences.

Right.

But our theology must not be built on experience. That's

not trying to say it must be built on scripture,

because experiences can sometimes confirm the truth, but experiences cannot

create truth. It's very important there's a distinction there, and

that's why we always hold on to the truth. We

still keep ongoing, we pray until that happens.

We sung earlier about.

You know, building on standing on a firm foundation, right,

I think it's care also shared a word from there

as well. And you know this from Matthew seven twenty

four where there's one person who built on the sand

and one persons on the rock and the storm hits.

One guy remains standing, the other person did not. Now

what's the difference to storm? No, the difference was on

the foundation. So again, application, how does this relevant to

us circumstances? But it doesn't make sense when your prayers

are not answered instantaneously or immediately when disappointment comes. We

cannot stand on just pure feelings and motions. We need

to stand on God's word right next, right, Okay, we

need to stand on God's word. And just to remind everybody,

some one hundred and nineteen talks about his word.

Your word is the lamp to my feet and the

light to my path. Right.

So again going back to scripture, specifically Acts two, what

we find is the first thing we saw wasn't church

growth even, it wasn't even leadership, it wasn't good preaching.

It was the Holy Spirit. Right.

And that's why point number three would be we are

empowered by the Spirit, and that's why spirit field has

always got to become first before anything can happen. And

this is way I come back to this. Okay, all right,

there we go so far. Okay, we move a time. Okay, right, Google, Now,

holy Spirit came then Peter himself even preached, people repented

right then the church.

The church grew.

But if you notice a sequence, holy Spirit came first,

not all the other things. Right, But if you think

about the disciples, let's read X one first, okay, uh,

verses four.

Okay, I have you on the screen over there, Thank you, Zack.

On one occasion, while I was eating this Jesus with them,

he gave them this command do not leave Jerusalem translated

wait but wait for the gift my father promise which

you have heard me speak about.

For John baptized with water.

But in a few days on a few days are

you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

Okay. Then it says in verse six.

Then they gathered around him and asked him, Lord, are

you at this time going to restore the kingdom in Israel?

Okay?

He said to them, it is not for you to

know the times or the dates of the Father has

said by his own authority. But you will receive power

when the Holy Spirit comes to you, and you may

witness in Jerusalem and in Judea, and in Samaria and.

To the ends of the birth. Okay. So I'll take

a passia for a while.

The first thing that you see here or under the

second point here, you will see that the Holy Spirit

is the power of God. This is where it comes from,

by the way, Okay, I said, My points are a

little bit all the place because I prepared it differently.

But it's all there, all right. But you receive power

through the Spirit, and it is a promise. Now, let

me take a pause from that.

For a while. Think about it. If you're a disciple

during that time.

Okay, it's been three years since you walk with Jesus,

all right. You heard every sermon that Jesus spoke, You

saw every miracle that Jesus performed.

You witness even the resurrection of Jesus.

Next like Jess zach Okay saw all that, and yet

Jesus say, wait, if anyone were to be ready for ministry,

right is these guys you know? But just say wait,

don't go yet, don't appreciate, don't start yet.

Wait but why because Jesus recognized right? Information?

Of course, yes, is very good. It's important as won't

get me wrong. But without proper empowerment, it is not sufficient. Okay, now,

I'm sure others have got smartphones devices.

I don't have mine owns somewhere anyway.

You can buy the best smartphone in the latest and

most supernatural chugai camera, the fastest process that you can find,

the most advanced technology, I know, Bluetooth ten point four,

I don't know whatever, and.

Just making things up right now.

But those whatever that phone can do right the moment

it runs out, runs out of juice, no battery.

What is it?

The brick very good paperweight, It is useless. And some

of the Christians are like that. You know, we have

a lot of knowledge, we have a lot of talents,

even gifts. God gives you gifts as well. He have

a lot of experience as well. Right, but we know

the Holy spirits a bit like that.

Right. We lack the power that God intended for us.

Don't get me wrong. You can still do some things,

but it's not how God intended it. And this is

exactly what it is.

So hopefully that that illustration sort of helps you understand.

It's a bit better.

Let's not just say wait. Because He wanted them to

be ready for the search of the Holy Spirit. Look

at Peter, I've got a next light. Peter, right before

the Pentecost, what happened?

He denied this three times? Right?

The servant girl intimidated him.

Right, do you know?

You just know?

I don't know.

Fear controlled him. Fear had a grip on him. After Pentecosts,

after the Holy Spirit dawned, the same Peter stood before

thousands and boldly proclaims Christ right, and three thousand people

were saved.

What has changed? Peter said the same, but personally put

the same. Looking, Peter say the same. There's a partner you,

by the way, but the Holy Spirit was the difference.

Sometimes you think he say, right, my included if only

I knew more, if only I attended another revival, conference, Right,

if only write another book, or if only I prayed

by another uh, or maybe by Billy Graham another time,

something like that. Again, all those are good stuff, but

they're not more important than the spirit. Even Jesus himself say, yeah,

spirits more important. So knowledge is wonderful, training is important.

Da Ultimately, we still need disciples to be dependent and

be spirit led.

So what does spirit feel actually mean? Right? Is it

just merely speaking in tongues? No, that is one expression?

Is it?

Sometimes you get the feeling I used to have this

feeling like, oh, you know, doing worship, really feel this

spider census tingling sensation going all over my body?

Spirit? You know?

It is also spirit feel as well? Is just feeling emotional?

All those are there, It can happen. But I believe

being spirit field can is actually something deeper than all that.

So my final point before I come to all these

things is it's important to understand that we need to

be let by the spirit right, and what spirit field

looks like, because if we do not recognize what it

looks like or needs to be looked like, then obviously

we will not be feeled at all. In fact, I

put us a little blip at the bottom. Let it

says to say, not just feel once, but fiel or

be let daily.

Yeah, not just once and all you go like one conference?

you last? Right? So next life?

So what does beings spirit feeld look like? Is it

something like that?

Right? Watch too much movies to you? Okay?

Now spirit feel right? It really means three things. Firstly,

Pascana mentioned this as well. He needs to be continually feeled.

You need to be continually to feel, not just feel ones,

but feel a lot of times. And one thing he

also mentioned is that if you are not feeled by

the spirit, you tend to be feeled by other things.

What other things are we talking about? Fear?

Anger, anxiety, bitterness, ride, you name it right.

Everybody's feel something? Right? I have this photograph here.

Right, sponge? What does a sponge do? You?

Donkey do something? You will just soak up everything. What

happens when you squeeze the sponge? Everything that your host

comes out?

Okay? What happens when life squeezes you? What oozes out

of you? What happens when traffic squeezes you and you're late?

What comes out of your mouth? What happens when marriage

squeezes you? Oh? Okay? Readership? Okay, marriage? Okay?

What happened when your children squeezes you? Push your buttons?

All right? Or work? When pressure comes? Right? What comes out?

Is it faith? Is it peace? Is it love? Is

it anger?

Or is it just complain or negativity? See, pressure really

reveals what's within us. And we all know this pressure

will come. You're cooked, So what feels you leads you.

So that's why we have to always feel ourselves the spirit.

So when we get squeezed, the spirit loses all of

us and not all those other things I just mentioned.

This is all being led by the spirit, by the way,

and I'm gonna uh what it course, move you to

Galatians five thirteen. This is how we can then walk

closely with the spirit. The hitting of Galatians A next

slight sect. Okay, it's like by the spirit, right, I'm

gonna skip the top bits there, but you know it

says there, So I say, walk by the spirit, and

you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. And

of course you read the red rest of the bit

there's or the flesh desires this as support of contrary

or the spirit, because the spirit and the flesh is

always opposite ends of the spectrum, all right, And if

bottom talks about the fruits of the spirit, love, joy, peace, forbearans, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

all that we know very well, right, Like I said,

hopefully you get squeezed, all those cumbers comes out. But

since we live by the spirit, let us keep in

step with the spirit. And what does you mean by

keeping step with the spirit?

Is really walking with.

The spirit unless we think of spirit as like the aura,

the atmosphere, eric thing that envelopes you.

But do you know that the spirit's actually a person?

But we don't think of it that way often Jesus,

Yes person, God, yes person.

But spirit is atmospheric pressure kind of thing. Right.

In part two it says Holy Spirit is the power.

I'll give you some of the verses there. But it's

more than the power. It is a person, right, It's

a helper, a counselor a guide, a friend. Right now,

before you go, but application before you go to a

difficult meeting, what do you do. Do you ask the

helper for help? Do you pray guide me, guide my words,

Holy Spirit? Or just go in there. Right before a

major decision that you make, do you say, Holy Spirit,

lead me? Before even responding to conflict, to criticism, do

you say, Holy Spirit help me? Again, if you think

of it as just atmospheric pressure, yes, you wouldn't talk

to the person or talk to the spirit as those

And that's why the next line, it's walking in the spirit,

is like this, literally walking with the person every day spirit.

Few people that is walking with the spirit include him

in everyday life.

Right.

And again, the goal isn't just having the Spirit in us.

The goal is having or allowing the Spirit to lead us,

because when you walk side by side, you'll walk together destination,

and then the Spirit will lead you towards their destiny.

Romans eight fourteen says here those who are led by

the Spirit of God are the children of God?

Do I have that worsop exact? So?

Sorry, okay, anyway, let's move on to some of these points.

Otherwise you'd be like, why is all my things blank?

Okay?

Right, so remembers now I said the first point, all right,

the Holy Spirit is the promise of God. Okay, So

I said, you know, even the disciples walk with them

for three years and then say, wait, why I already

read it before in Act one four and being assembled together,

he commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem. That part

what's the promise of God? The Holy Spirit? So that's

the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name,

Helper will remind us of the teachings of Christ as well.

So the power is also in helping us, remember, right,

So let's stay part two portion and the.

Last verse over there is says here I read it earlier.

Therefore I say to you, miss Matthew twelve, every sin

and bless me will be forgiven, but the blessed me

against the Spirit will be will will not be forgiven.

So strong you know, just a reminder of the importance

of the Spirit. So again the encouragement here is for

us to prioritize the Spirit of God, because the Spirit,

when the Spirit God is here, Christ will also be

exalted in the process.

Okay, the last part there, number three.

Walking in Christ is where I am at the moment, right,

So when we receive the Spirit, we also have a

relationship with Him because as you walk closely, just like

how you journey somebody walk closely, somebody from a mile

or a kilometer, two kilometers.

Et cetera.

You converse, you know the person a bit better. He

becomes your best friend and becomes your companion. He becomes

that faithful person that will walk alongside. You don't feel lonely,

you don't feel that you're doing this alone. And you

can do that with airtime, with contact time, not only

summoned when you need help, although yes, when you summons

a reader anyway, but you must always walk. And of course,

as I said to you, he's leading us, he's guiding us,

he's reminding us.

In the process as well. Right, And that's what walking

in the spirit means.

Don't forget I used to say, used to. I used

to have this physical conversation. And I remember the place

where this physical conversation with the spirit. I was walking

from where I was studying the halls of residence at

one point to university.

Every day I was speak to the spirit. I lost that.

Now I speak now, not, I converse differently, but I

used to have that literally talking too. It's like a

mad person talking to myself from the externala. But that's

what it's meant to be. Constantly be feel bouncing off

thoughts and walking the spirit right as assists in Galatians

five sixteen. And the next slide there, sorry, the next

page is where you then become more and more in

tune and more and more dependent.

I put here waiting on the spirit because you just

they say, wait, right, waiting, it's not in activity. Okay,

we think it's actually dependence. Sometimes you say wait, it's

like you're so passive.

Why wait? We learn about waiting on the Lord as well. Right,

waiting on the spirit.

Let's turn to back to X one four which I

read earlier.

What are you waiting for?

We wait for the gift my father has promise, and

this is the spirit it's coming. Isaiah forty thirty one

says here those who wait upon the Lord shall renew

yeah strength, and this strength is aligned with Holy Spirit

being the power again point number two here some twenty

seven to fourteen, wait for the Lord, be strong and

take heart. Now our posture for our be goosed to

put this secon improvement that the previous line. We got

to put this picture here, you know, it's the reason

why put this picture here. This is a car that's

waiting waiting for the lights to change? Now, how many

how many of you light waiting for the d light

to change?

You'd be like.

Back in the day, right, they don't have the number

that counts down, you know, right, remember the era?

Yeah?

Why so long one hey sport idea, the statements, right,

nobody enjoys that.

But do you know that red light.

Is there and also saves lives every day? Why because

it prevents you from moving forward and not supposed to

move forward, so they don't ah create damage or injure somebody.

So rid light actually saves lives. But of course when

we are behind the wheel, behind the real life waiting, right,

Sometimes God's delays, right or even yeah, delays are not denials.

We heard this many times. They are actually sometimes for

your protection. If you talk about it that way, just

for your own word, for your own safety, for your

the Spirit. And that's what we think it's all about.

It trains you. It's a good thing, not a bad thing.

And we think upon the lot is actually part of

walking with the Holy Spirit as well. Sometimes you want

to walk faster, right, It's like, hey, chill, so down

with it, right, wait upon the whole spirit.

Wait, then wait him to dawn on you, because they

are going to be challenges. In him is preparing you.

You want to be dependent. And again this goes back

to Galatians five sixteen. So waiting upon the Lord here

and write down is part of walking the Lord as well.

Last verse over there, John one, Sorry, first John four four.

You are of God little children that have overcome them

because he who is in New, what's in New the

Spirit is greater than he.

Is in the room. So again, it's okay to walk,

it's okay to wait. It's not.

X Chapter two right gives us a blueprint of a

driving church, as I mentioned Elder, not programs first, not

have to do things that fit our needs yes and

important thing. Where the spirit. Where is the spirit leading
