  1. You're listening to a message to go from asks church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day.

  3. So I'm gonna start by asking a question.

  4. Are we okay with questions? Yeah?

  5. So I don't like to be up on the stage

  6. because I cannot come to you, huh, Because I like

  7. to come near to you and make sure you don't

  8. fall asleep. Aha, you're joking, joking, joking. I'm sure you

  9. don't fall a sleeper.

  10. Okay. So the first question, and this is a question

  11. for you.

  12. I want you to take time to think about it,

  13. and then I will probably come to you and ask

  14. you for an answer. Okay, think about it. Yeah, this question,

  15. who is Jesus to you?

  16. Okay?

  17. The question is who is Jesus to you? Okay, I

  18. see some smiles. I'm giving you some moments to think

  19. about it. Think about the ans, sir.

  20. Okay. So I'm gonna go to Andy. Who's Jesus to you? Okay?

  21. Okay, he's into his worship leading mode?

  22. Right, the one who broke his chain? Yeah? Cool? Great, great,

  23. great John John. Who's Jesus to you?

  24. He's God, but he also changes in different circumstances. Okay,

  25. So so you you experience different parts of God. Okay,

  26. maybe I have to correct a bit of theology. God

  27. doesn't change, by the way, Yeah, yeah, I'm sure you

  28. know what that man. He's just saying that he experiences

  29. different parts of God in different seasons of his life.

  30. Yeah. Is more more like it? Yeah yeah, okay. The

  31. Word of.

  32. God says that God does not change. Yeah, so we

  33. experienced him differently.

  34. Okay, cool.

  35. But Julian, who is Jesus to you saviors? How many

  36. of you agree that Jesus your savior?

  37. Okay?

  38. Okay, okay, cool, cool, Let's see who else? Can I

  39. go to Joanne?

  40. Who's Jesus to you? Savior? Savior? Savior?

  41. Okay, only savior, comforter, provider. Yeah, okay. So we know

  42. Jesus by many names. We know Jesus by many names,

  43. And do you know the thing is right? I think

  44. this question is very deep. This is very deep question

  45. because how you process this question and how you answer

  46. actually determines how you live your life.

  47. True or not? Okay?

  48. So do you know that many people and I'm speaking

  49. to believer us here, right, I'm speaking to faithful people.

  50. But the thing is right? How how would you share Jesus.

  51. To someone else who do don't know God. Okay, so

  52. let's let's turn that question around a little bit. How

  53. would you share Jesus to someone who does not know

  54. him anyone? How would you share Jesus to someone who

  55. do not know him at all? What would you say? Sorry, friend,

  56. Jesus is a friend. Jesus is a friend. Okay, Jesus

  57. is a friend. Okay?

  58. Uh? What else? What else?

  59. What else would you how else would you share Jesus

  60. with your friends? With your friends, we people who do

  61. not know who God is. He's a god who came

  62. and to die for us? Okay, have you tried that before?

  63. Kind of? And what was the response? Yeah? Yeah, So you're.

  64. Sharing your friends, right who don't know about God and

  65. you say, yeah, Jesus is the one who came to

  66. die and across uh?

  67. Yeah?

  68. And what was their response from from dea?

  69. How you know? Okay? How you know? How you know? Truly?

  70. How do you know? Give me the proof youw me

  71. to prove?

  72. Right?

  73. Okay? Okay? What else? What else?

  74. How else would you share Jesus with someone who do

  75. not know God? Your life experience, your life experience, Yeah,

  76. your life experiences. You know your own testimonies. By the way,

  77. was it Kareem? Thank you for sharing that testimony. I

  78. was so blessed to hear that, and I was thinking, wow, okay,

  79. no need message, really no, I think your testimony.

  80. Cover everything already. But you see, the thing is.

  81. Right, when we encounter people, there are many perceptions about

  82. who Jesus is.

  83. Yeah, do you agree?

  84. There are many perceptions of who Jesus is. Some people

  85. think that Jesus is a legend. Do you know what

  86. legend is?

  87. Right?

  88. Someone who lived before? Yeah, maybe he was a good teacher.

  89. Have you ever heard of that? Jesus as a good teacher,

  90. Jesus as the miracle worker? Yeah, Jesus who is God

  91. who answers prayers. Right, there's so many parts of Jesus

  92. that we know of. Okay, so some will say that, yeah,

  93. he's a legend, he's a good teacher. Right, he can't

  94. perform miracles, some might we can go to the next light.

  95. So who is Jesus to you?

  96. He could be a legend, he could be what's the

  97. next one?

  98. A liar.

  99. Like some of our encounters, right, Like, yeah, Jesus said

  100. that he would you know, tear down the temple and

  101. rebuild it and raise it up in three days?

  102. Is that true? Do you believe it? Do you believe it?

  103. Did you know what I'm talking about? Sorry, you're looking

  104. at me like.

  105. Your eyes like like go fish like blinking like it.

  106. I'm like, did I lose you already? Yeah? Do you

  107. know what I'm saying? So everything? If you okay, I'm

  108. going to ask you this other question.

  109. Right, if you believe everything that Jesus says? Do you

  110. believe everything that Jesus says in the Bible? Is there

  111. anything that you have questions on? Are there any questionable

  112. thoughts or things that you're like, yeah, this one very

  113. had to believe that Jesus says. You know, I will,

  114. you know, you will do greater miracles than I did.

  115. Jesus say anyone believe that anyone exercised that? Not quite yet?

  116. Like huh, you mean what I can raise the Dad?

  117. Do you believe that? So if you don't believe it,

  118. then you're making Jesus out to be a liar, like

  119. I don't think so. Because Jesus say rights, you either

  120. think that whatever he said is real or it's not.

  121. They cannot be two sides. You can't stand on the

  122. fence and say, yeah, he is. This part is real,

  123. but this part is not real.

  124. You know.

  125. That's the word that says God is uh. He will

  126. bring down his wrath on those who who do not

  127. believe him right and put you out, you know, with

  128. gnashing of teeth.

  129. You have you read that before? You like, cannot be.

  130. God is so good, God is so loving and kind.

  131. How can he punish people?

  132. You see what I'm going Some parts of the word

  133. of God, we find it very hard to accept, and

  134. so we're like, oh, Jesus, you can't be saying this, right,

  135. You can't possibly be saying this.

  136. Some people think that Jesus is a lunatic. Do you

  137. know what?

  138. When he was walking on earth, right just before he

  139. went to the cross, he told his disciples, Okay, you

  140. must eat off my flesh and drink of my blood.

  141. Anyone want to drink some blood after this espresso? I

  142. don't know what your server Someone's uh, Okay, it's type

  143. AB today.

  144. The blood today is type AB, so please drink of it.

  145. And you know, yeah, and then it's someone's flesh, someone

  146. who who died recently. Oh, and Jesus says, if you

  147. do not eat my flesh and drink of my blood.

  148. You have no part of me.

  149. And to some of the disciples at time, do you

  150. know that that's when all of them left, the other

  151. disciples except the twelve, all of them left like cheesyer?

  152. Do you know what that crazy saur? Howckey long? See hour?

  153. You ask me to eat? What's this? This kind of

  154. teaching is lunatic. It's crazy, Jesus. What you're asking me

  155. to do is too radical? Radical?

  156. What hit your mother? If you do not hit your

  157. father and your mother, it means that you do not

  158. love me?

  159. Cheesy or not? I thought God asks us to love

  160. our parents, you know, or our parents?

  161. How is this teaching? So it's just as see our

  162. Do you know what I'm saying? Some things you might

  163. not be able to process in your mind, and you're like,

  164. what do I make out of this? This perception that

  165. we have of who Jesus is right? Or you can

  166. come to a decision and a conclusion that he truly

  167. is Lord?

  168. Is he Lord? Is he Lord of your life?

  169. Can I tell you something that he can be your

  170. savior without being your lord. I'm gonna say that again.

  171. He can be your Savior, like, yes, God, you save me.

  172. I believe that you went to the cross to die

  173. for me. I got a thicket to heaven, so I'll

  174. see you on the day when I reached there. Okay,

  175. God got it, so thought Lord Jesus, I will see

  176. you there on that day. You are my Savior. I

  177. already believe in you. I really believe you died. But

  178. for the rest of my life you're on earth. I

  179. am Lord. For the rest of how I live my life,

  180. I make the decisions God. I will decide how I

  181. want to live. I will make use all my time

  182. however I want it to be.

  183. I will make my.

  184. Career decisions, my life partner decisions, whatever I decide on

  185. my children's education based on what I know.

  186. So who is Lord?

  187. So you see, you can think of Jesus as your savior.

  188. But if he is not Lord, then he is not

  189. God over our lives. I want us to catch this

  190. because do you know the more that I talk to

  191. people now in even amongst our church partners, young people,

  192. all theer folks, and I realized that our perception of

  193. our understanding of God, Who's Jesus?

  194. Do you really Who's Jesus? To you.

  195. Yeah, He's a god I worship and sing too on

  196. a sandela and then Monday and then in your conversation

  197. with your boss and in how you lead your children.

  198. Who's Jesus? I don't know.

  199. Someone I just pray good night prayers to someone that

  200. I just say grace before dinner and that's it. And

  201. Jesus has no weight in your everyday life, you know,

  202. everyday decision. Does he have that kind of weight? Does

  203. he had that kind of position in our lives? That's

  204. my question And I have to question myself as like, God, really,

  205. am I first thing in the morning?

  206. Am I thinking about you? Last thing?

  207. And am I thinking about you when I'm going through

  208. my challenges? Am I thinking about you? Am I going

  209. to you? Are you really Lord of my life? Or

  210. you're just a savior on the wall or on the

  211. cross hanging somewhere that I'm wearing.

  212. Do you know what I'm saying?

  213. And I want us to to understand this because this

  214. will determine how we live our lives and it always

  215. begins with an encounter. And so I don't want to

  216. just say, you know you, as long as you come

  217. to church, you're fine. As long as you give your

  218. tithes and offering, you're serving, you go to homes. You're

  219. fine because when all that is strip away, friends, can

  220. I tell you, when all of this is stripped away

  221. and you are standing before.

  222. Jesus, are you gonna tell him? Jesus?

  223. You know I did all of this for you, and

  224. the last thing that we want to hear from him

  225. is I do not know you because you do not

  226. know me. Do you know you can do all of

  227. this and still miss the mark? And so so my

  228. heart is this, my burthen is this that I don't

  229. want any one of us to miss the mark to

  230. really know who Jesus is to us? And so let's

  231. go to the world of God. Okay, let's go to

  232. Acts chapter nine. And you know this guy. His name

  233. is Saul. Do you know Saul? Who is Saul? Let

  234. me ask the children, children, who is Saul Pauh King

  235. and King Saul? The different Saul we are talking about.

  236. Thank you for that, But at least you're thinking about

  237. someone assault from the Bible?

  238. Who else? Okay, let me ask the kids who else is?

  239. Who is Saul? To you? Jet? Who is saw? Someone

  240. who changed? I like that, someone someone who changed.

  241. From bad to good woh good like can give bonus

  242. points on it?

  243. What else?

  244. Who else? What else do you know about? Saul persecuted

  245. the church? Okay, so we want to talk about bad guy.

  246. Right.

  247. So let's by the way, who would like the Saul

  248. to be your church pastor anyone if that, if there's

  249. a living Saul today, would you like him to be

  250. your church master?

  251. No? No, of course not. You know what he did?

  252. No?

  253. He went to the church. I say.

  254. For example, he came to Premier Clang right, and then

  255. he's like, okay, who who he will come in right now?

  256. And he said, who are you? Who of you who

  257. say that you believe in God, in Jesus? Come out

  258. here right now and I will bring you to Clang prison,

  259. cank God prison.

  260. Now, don't have right? Okay? Then go to the balet pudu.

  261. I don't know where. Do you know what? That's what

  262. sold it? Right?

  263. He went around to churches and he says, those of

  264. you who are following the way, which is Jesus, I

  265. will drag you into prison.

  266. Okay. So if you don't believe me, you go to

  267. act chapter eight. All right.

  268. Act Chapter eight says that Saul was bringing people all

  269. the way to prison.

  270. That's how it started. In X chapter eight. Okay, I'm

  271. gonna read that. Okay.

  272. So before that he even consented to Stevens's death, the martyr.

  273. Okay. Now Saul was concerning to his dad. This is

  274. X chapter eight. And at that time.

  275. A great persecution arose against the Church which was at Jerusalem,

  276. and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea

  277. and samar Accept the apostles, all right, And so this

  278. is the start of the introduction of Saul in the Bible.

  279. He came on the scene.

  280. He was already saying yes to the Christian's death. All right,

  281. let's move on to X Chapter nine. Exceptain are you there?

  282. Ex? Chapter nine? All right? EX.

  283. Chapter nine Versus one two four, Okay, I'm gonna read

  284. that from the Word of God, okay, So verse one.

  285. Then Saul, still breeding threats and murder against the disciples

  286. of the Lord, went to the high Priest and asked

  287. letters from him to the synagogues of the Mascus, so

  288. that if he found any who were of the way

  289. the way, whether men or women, he might bring them

  290. bound to Jerusalem. Now this is this bound is bringing

  291. them to prison. All right, So in in in what

  292. do you call it? Cuffs?

  293. Handcuffs? Verse three?

  294. As he journeyed, he came near the maskers, and suddenly

  295. a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell

  296. to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul,

  297. why are you persecuting me? Yeah, Saul, Saul, why are

  298. you persecuting me? What is the first thing that you

  299. capture from this first four verses? What do you think

  300. is what is God trying to say to us from

  301. the first four verses?

  302. What do you think what is God saying? Now?

  303. Do you do you believe that God knows everything that's happening?

  304. Does he know that this Saul is coming against him

  305. again his believers? And what was his response? What was

  306. God's response to this guy called Saul? Okay, let me

  307. put this way. If you were God, what would you

  308. do to Saul? You would smash him?

  309. What what? Punish him? Of course? Right? Logic and not logic.

  310. Not if someone is destroying the work that you sent

  311. your son to do, you would try and demolish this guy,

  312. punish him or whatnot? But what did God do? He

  313. pursued him? Did you see how God pursued his the

  314. person that is the most anty God anti Jesus. By

  315. the way, I have to say this that Saul was not.

  316. Actually Saul was very zealous for God. He do you

  317. know the reason why he was persecuting Jesus was because

  318. he felt and he thought that Jesus was a fraud,

  319. because he thought that they were turning the Jews away

  320. from the way of the Jewish laws. And for him

  321. is I am the righteous man, I need to uphold

  322. the Jewish laws. He said that I'm the Pharisee of

  323. the Pharisees. You know, anyone kept the law, I kept

  324. all the law. He dared to say, anyone there to

  325. say that one? I think none of us there to

  326. say that, right, But he was so righteous. But I

  327. have to keve it that by saying he was so

  328. self righteous for the things of God that he could

  329. miss the mark. So, friends, can I tell you that

  330. you can be so zealous for the things of God,

  331. doing everything that you think is right, doing everything that

  332. you think is very Christian, and.

  333. Still miss Jesus. Do you see that? So? So it's

  334. not that he's like completely like a bad guy. He

  335. was doing things for God. That's what he believed.

  336. He's like I'm doing, I'm going all out to make

  337. sure that God's name is not dishonored. Do you see

  338. that he's coming from that place? So he's not really

  339. a he's really owned for God. Okay, but he missed

  340. the mark. And so, my, my, you know, my comfort

  341. from this is it that Jesus wants to come and

  342. correct that.

  343. He is not. You know, you might as humans, right,

  344. you might see this person a hopeless.

  345. Hopeless, right, hopeless, useless, destroying my plans and my work.

  346. But God had a better plan. God had a higher plan,

  347. and you see the things right, God will pursue that one.

  348. And that's why I'm sorry. I was very encouraged by

  349. Korean's testimony. You know, she said that, yes, God pursued

  350. even though it took some time. But that means friends,

  351. everyone has a chance. Everyone has a chance. You know,

  352. even the most anti Jesus friend that you have right now,

  353. your most empty Jesus auntie, uncle, grandfather, grandmother, God is

  354. still pursuing them. And God wants to use us. Yeah,

  355. God wants to use as just as he used Saul

  356. to change and transform lives.

  357. Amen.

  358. So so God is pursuing it. So catch can you

  359. just catch Jesus heart? Yeah, So he went there and

  360. says Saul, Saul, he called him by name, Why are

  361. you persecuting me?

  362. And then verse five is says this.

  363. Then he fell to the ground and heard a voice

  364. saying to him, Yeah, okay, we went there verse five,

  365. and he said, who are you Lord?

  366. Who are you? See? The thing is right?

  367. Do you think that Saul didn't know about this name Jesus? Right,

  368. So he was the one who persecuted everyone who followed

  369. this Jesus. He knew of this guy, a prominent guy

  370. named Jesus who went to the cross, died and rose again.

  371. But he's like discouraging anyone else from following this because

  372. they're distracting them from following.

  373. The Jewish Jewish laws.

  374. So, but God is saying to him, why are you

  375. persecuting me?

  376. And he said to him, who are you Lord?

  377. Because can you imagine he was already on the ground, blinded,

  378. and he knew that there was the higher powers that

  379. was speaking to you. Isn't natural for you to certainly

  380. lose your sight and here avoids booming who So, so,

  381. why are you persecuting me? It's very unusual, and you know,

  382. right this encounter, you know that it is something supernatural.

  383. I wonder if you've had that encounter with Jesus yourself.

  384. Have you asked yourself, have you had a personal encounter

  385. with the Lord or Jesus was just an idea that

  386. you hear from church every day? Do you know that

  387. I'm working with this couple. You're a very young couple,

  388. and so they are one thing to get into pre courtship.

  389. So we're asking and all that, and they're like, they're

  390. like each other fine, you know, And he said that

  391. the boys, do you know I pray for twenty one

  392. days during the U turn? Yeah, we just had our

  393. U turn. And he said, but I didn't hear from

  394. God at all, right, And as we went deeper, and

  395. he's like, what does it mean to seek God? And

  396. we discovered further on that actually he's like, I don't

  397. have faith. Actually, this boy grows up in a godly family,

  398. godly family, you know, his parents are God fearing parents,

  399. and he was raised in church. He's about twenty plus

  400. years old now, and he says, I don't know this faith.

  401. He's found in church every Sunday, you know, every Sunday

  402. for twenty one years, and he says, I don't know Jesus.

  403. I don't know who he is. I don't know how

  404. to hear from him. So I'm wondering, like a lama,

  405. what happened?

  406. Guys, what happened? He's like, I don't know. I never

  407. met him.

  408. So of course I was very concerned. But we said, okay,

  409. let's journey together. Let's journey together to help you find

  410. Jesus and encounter him for yourself. And so that's what

  411. our young people are going through.

  412. Right.

  413. Do you know that if our young people cannot call

  414. Jesus as their own lord, then that's a journey that

  415. we need to pray for your parents' parents. Don't just

  416. pray for good education, don't just pray for good health.

  417. Pray that they encounter Jesus, that they know who Jesus

  418. is for themselves, because you and I will not be

  419. there for them all the way when they stand before God,

  420. they will have to answer their own self. You can't

  421. be there like, oh no, no, Jesus, this is my child,

  422. you know. I let me tell you that's what he

  423. did all as right, top of the class. No Jesus,

  424. like no, no, no, paren, I push you aside. I'm

  425. going to talk to my child. This is my child, right,

  426. and so so I I begin to have this real

  427. burden for our young people, real burden for our young people.

  428. Not just our young people everyone lah, okay, that we

  429. really need to know who Jesus is for ourselves. Don't

  430. need to look to your husband, your wife and who

  431. I don't know? La, ask God like, who are you

  432. to me?

  433. Actually? Who are you Jesus? And this is what exactly

  434. saw us? Who are you Lord? He's asking this deep

  435. question who are you really?

  436. And by the way, can I tell you when I

  437. when I when I when I first read it?

  438. Right?

  439. But he already called him lord? Does that mean that

  440. he acknowledged him as lord? So what I discovered was

  441. in the.

  442. In the old times? Right? What when when.

  443. You see this word lord, it actually could mean as sir,

  444. who are you sir?

  445. Who are you sir?

  446. So it comes back to again, if you think this

  447. Jesus is someone who is a good teacher or someone

  448. very knowledge by somewhere powerful you, you would accord that

  449. honor and respect. Right, But it does not mean that

  450. it will change your life. Does not mean that God

  451. will change your life. Okay, So let's move on, he says,

  452. And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.

  453. It is hard for you to kick against the ghosts.

  454. Do you know what this means? Anyone knows what it

  455. means to kick against the goats?

  456. What is the goat? Not the gum being? Okay?

  457. So do you know that if you are farming and

  458. you have cattle, right, if you raise cattle, you will

  459. always put them to plow the land.

  460. Yeah, So you want to plow the land? You want

  461. it to go left? All right? Left? You wanted to

  462. go straight? Can no?

  463. Not?

  464. Can we go straight? Don't want to go straight?

  465. Out?

  466. So you want to go left and right? Is it

  467. only life? Okay, let's go to the life. Okay.

  468. So right, you notice that your cattle is moving to

  469. the right. What do you do and you wanted to

  470. go to the left, what do you do as a farmer?

  471. As a cattle owner? You will have this stick, And

  472. at the end of a stick is a prick. Yeah,

  473. And the moment you turn right, when you're supposed to

  474. turn left, what does the farmer do? They will prick you.

  475. You think it's cruel or not parents, you want to

  476. have this device?

  477. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Hey parenting pool. Here parenting tip.

  478. If your child goes to the left and you want

  479. them to go to the right, right, you break them.

  480. And this is the real too. Can you see that.

  481. Is a rod with a sharp pointy thing, and it's proding.

  482. Is it meant to hurt them? Is men to pop

  483. their conscience so that they will turn to the left,

  484. not to the right, but on the straight road.

  485. Do you see, parents, how important your role is. Yeah.

  486. It's not just to like do whatever you want, but

  487. you are raising them in the ways of the Lord right,

  488. and the ways of the Lord is not easy, you know,

  489. because guess what we all like to go turn left,

  490. to turn right, do our own things. And God is

  491. saying this thing and this is the word of God

  492. that will prick you, the word of God that will

  493. prick you so that you will go straight. Now, why

  494. is God saying this to Saul? Because it's in the

  495. Roman and the Hebrew proverb. This is a proverb that

  496. they use that time right. It says that it's understood

  497. that if you do this, you're going against God's will.

  498. As simple as that you're going again a divine going

  499. against a divine will, and so it's like, so, why

  500. are you trying to go against God's will? So he's saying, okay, okay, God, right,

  501. and let's look at this respec.

  502. Verseing.

  503. So he trembling and astonished, said sir, what do you

  504. want me to do? And the Lord said to him,

  505. arise and go into the city and you will be

  506. told what you must do. So it started with this encounter.

  507. He lost his sight. Suddenly he was put in this

  508. place where he's uncertain about what he believes in God,

  509. what he believes in Jesus. And do you know our

  510. response when we encounter Jesus is God, what do you

  511. want me to do? Do you see that if you

  512. encounter Jesus is saying God, what do you want me

  513. to do?

  514. Now, it's not God, what I will do for you? Yeah?

  515. Hello, exclaim. It's very different from saying, God, you do

  516. this for me, You do this for me. It's now

  517. answering back and say, God, what do you want me

  518. to do? Have you ever asked that question in all

  519. your decision making? It's not so much God, I want

  520. to do this for you. God, I want to do

  521. that for you. But God, what do you want me

  522. to do? That is a response? Okay, all right? So

  523. do you know sometimes right when you encounter the word

  524. of God, it will prick you most of the timeline,

  525. Like when you're reading this right now, is it pricking you?

  526. Is it like an ouch?

  527. And that's simply because God wants to bring us back,

  528. bring us back to what he wants, where he wants us.

  529. Amen.

  530. So the encounter led him to a deep place of search.

  531. I want to encourage us to come to this place

  532. where we wrestle with God. We wrestle with who we

  533. think God is. We wrestle with our understanding of who

  534. God is.

  535. In our lives.

  536. Don't just let God be? You know something in the Bible,

  537. some a figment of you know, your philosophy, that He's

  538. good on a Sunday but not every day?

  539. Can I?

  540. Can I encourage you just to think about it? That

  541. have you come to this place where you have a

  542. deep search, a deep you know, a wrestle. Really, God,

  543. who are you? What do you mean to me? What

  544. does it mean to call you my God? What does

  545. it mean to call you my God? What do you

  546. want me to do?

  547. All right? And you look at verse nine verse nine.

  548. Right, he says this, and he was three days without

  549. sight and neither ate nor drink.

  550. So so there's this place of darkness.

  551. Do you know that three days or he had no sight,

  552. he had no food, he had no water. How would

  553. you feel that time anyone went through fasting three days

  554. without food, without water?

  555. Has anyone experienced that?

  556. No? Oh, yes, sir, okay, in that place where you

  557. empty yourself, do you see that when there is no

  558. other things to see? This is a place of search,

  559. like like you're really really going into this like wolfare

  560. and going with God and just saying, God, what is

  561. this that I'm struggling with? And I want this breakthrough.

  562. I want this breakthrough of knowing who you are. And

  563. Saul went through that. So Saul was being you know,

  564. just now one of our one of the jets said,

  565. it's Saul was a guy who transformed from bad to good. Right,

  566. all of us need to go through a transformation.

  567. Yeah.

  568. Do you believe that all of us need to be transformed?

  569. Because God loves you, but he loves you so much

  570. that he doesn't want you to remain the way you are.

  571. You cannot remain the same if you've been the same

  572. for the last five years.

  573. Then God has a plan for you. Ha ha.

  574. He's gonna come and prick you because he says, you

  575. cannot remain the same. You cannot say that you are

  576. a follower of Jesus and still remain the way you

  577. are true or not, because then there's no transformation. If

  578. there's no transformation, then God has not shown his power

  579. in your life.

  580. Yeah.

  581. And so soul went through this deep search, darkness, no food,

  582. no water. But do you know that at the same time,

  583. God was also transforming someone else.

  584. Yeah, Okay, let's read in verse ten.

  585. He says, now there was a certain disciple at Damascus

  586. name Ananias, and to him the Lord said, in the

  587. vision Annius. And he said, here I am Lord. So

  588. Anonius good guy or bad guy?

  589. Good guy? Bad guy?

  590. Okay, good guy, good guy, good guy. But still got

  591. wrong mindset. Let's see yah. And the Lord said to him,

  592. arise and go to the street caught straight and inquire

  593. at the house of Judas for one called soul of Passes.

  594. For behold, he is praying, and in a vision he

  595. has seen a man named Ananaius coming in and putting

  596. his hand on him. So that he might receive his side.

  597. Then what then I say yes, and I say that, yes,

  598. a conversion a soul say for the Lord. No, this

  599. is what Ananaia said. Then Ananaius answered, Lord, I've heard

  600. from many about this man, how much harm he has

  601. done to your saints in Jerusalem. And here he has

  602. authority from the chief priest to bind all who call

  603. on your name. But the Lord had to correct his mindset.

  604. The Lord said to him, go, for he is a

  605. chosen vessel of mind to bear my name before gentle

  606. kings and the children of Israel. For I will show

  607. him how many things he must suffer for my namesake. Wow,

  608. what it sounds like a punishment? Alas says, yes, worse

  609. than punishment. I recently learned this term. I don't know

  610. whether you're understanding. It's called suffering for success, you know not? Okay,

  611. it's a very gen z thing. I still don't know

  612. what it means anyways. It's like you you taste success,

  613. but then that suffering comes along with it.

  614. Okay, I don't know.

  615. I don't know that it doesn't matter low Okay, but okay,

  616. this sounds like punishment, right, But do you know that

  617. God was also changing mindset for Annius. Many times we

  618. think that person, really, no, this is the worst guy ever,

  619. And God is saying no, no, no, I have a

  620. plan for this guy as well. Right, And so I

  621. think for us right as disciples, and would you rather

  622. be a soul or an anis?

  623. Would you rather be a soul Annius? Annius? Of course, of.

  624. Course you just have to go and tell the message

  625. you're right, and then Saul can suffer for all of us.

  626. I don't know what God has called us to do.

  627. Some he will call us to be sauls some he

  628. will call us to be Anonius. But whatever it is,

  629. I think we just have to be obedient to His

  630. call of our lives.

  631. Amen. Yeah, are you still okay with me? Are you

  632. sleeping ready?

  633. Do you know every time I preach this message right,

  634. this spirit of sleepiness comes in.

  635. I want to rebuke that in Jesus name.

  636. You know why, because I really think, right, sometimes, when

  637. the word of God is really for us, when right,

  638. there is a spiritual battle. There's a real spiritual battle,

  639. and it's called the flesh. And that's the one that

  640. stops us from really grappling with the word of God.

  641. Okay, so, so do whatever you need to do.

  642. Right, If you feel like I need to stand up

  643. and stretch just to receive the world of God, do that.

  644. I give you permission. I won't call you out, okay,

  645. but but just just be ready in your spirit. Can

  646. be ready in your spirit to just hear what God

  647. is saying to us, what God.

  648. Wants to say to us.

  649. Okay, Now, the transformation happened for Ananias because at the

  650. end of the day, right, this question, who are you

  651. Jesus to me? Is not a transformation of the heart.

  652. It's not a transformation of just what you do. It's

  653. a transformation of your mind. Yes, what is this word

  654. repent Okay, I'm gonna ask you this word repentance? What

  655. what do you understand by the word repentance? What do

  656. you understand by the word report?

  657. So bright?

  658. Right, that's why I don't want to stand up there

  659. like you be staring at it so bright? What do

  660. you understand by the word repentance? Change your direction so

  661. that means I go If I want to go south,

  662. then I needed to change direction to go north? Maybe yeah, yeah,

  663. change of direction? And so what is God saying to

  664. us when he calls us to repent, change, direction from

  665. where to where, opposite of what, opposite of where you're going,

  666. what you're thinking about? Yeah, so correct, correct, that's absolutely

  667. correct because the word comes from this word meta meta noyo.

  668. Okay, this word repentance.

  669. If you read in your Bible, the English word is repentance,

  670. but the Greek word is matter noo or meta noia.

  671. And what it means what is meta mata is change?

  672. Let me ask the children, what is the word that

  673. you learn in school that starts with meta?

  674. Have you learned meta? More not meta for meta?

  675. Yeah, it's a science term meta meta morphosays what does

  676. that mean?

  677. Transform? Okay?

  678. Transform of what? Transformation of what? A butterfly from a

  679. caterpillar to her butterfly? Who wants to be a caterpillar?

  680. Who wants to be butterfly? Nobody wants to be butterfly? Me?

  681. Okay? If the girls or don't want to be butter flyer?

  682. No?

  683. Thank you? You who said no? Thank you? Oh yo? Okay?

  684. The one parents in there have a talught with that.

  685. Now see the metal morpho morphosis, right is changed?

  686. But change or what change of form? You know?

  687. Morph morph you are morphing into a form, a process

  688. of development, of changing from one form which is a

  689. larva or poopa two a butterfly.

  690. Change.

  691. Now, the word know yeah means a change of mindset.

  692. Change of thinking, change.

  693. Of perception, change of and understanding. So, when Jesus started

  694. his ministry, what do you say, let me tell you

  695. about the power of God. Did Jesus say that, let

  696. me tell you about the king What did Jesus first

  697. say when he started his ministry?

  698. What is it?

  699. Did you remember how Jesus started his ministry After he

  700. was baptized, he came out, He's like, okay, tada, I'm

  701. ready to do my work. What was the first thing

  702. that he said to the people that he was preaching to.

  703. God is good, God is love. God's gonna transform your life.

  704. What did Jesus say, sorry? Before that? What is the

  705. one word before that?

  706. Before he said the Kingdom of God is at hand?

  707. What was that one word that he said? Repent? Jesus's

  708. first word. You think about it.

  709. The first word that he was preaching to the crowd

  710. was not that I am good or whatnot. He says repent.

  711. So he's saying to the people, change your mind. There

  712. is a changing of mind that needs to happen before

  713. a changing of heart happens and then a change of life.

  714. You know that your brain is the most powerful thing

  715. if you think. Let me tell you something, Eh, how

  716. many of you think exercise is good? How many of

  717. you exercise?

  718. Oh? Very good?

  719. The same hand state because you believed it was good.

  720. Therefore you you did it. The rest of us wo

  721. never put our hands out. We don't believe exercise is good.

  722. We believe exercise is good for our neighbor, not for us.

  723. So like you go exercise, I don't need it. Do

  724. you see how powerful your mind is. If you believe

  725. in something, it will change how you live your life.

  726. And so God started on the scene.

  727. Jesus himself started on the stance, and he's saying, repent,

  728. change your mind about the Kingdom of God. So I

  729. think we all need to have this different perception of

  730. who Jesus is.

  731. Yeah. Change. He's not just your comforter, he's not just

  732. a savior. But who he is?

  733. Who is he really to all of us? Okay, do

  734. you know the word repentance? I just want to say this.

  735. It's not about feeling sorry. You have you felt sorry

  736. about something like oh, yeah, I did that mistake. I

  737. just felt guilty about it. I didn't do this, I

  738. should have done that. You go into this guilt trip.

  739. That's not repentance, by the way, that's not okay. It's

  740. not saying that. Yeah, you know, I just say like sorry, La.

  741. You know, I can't say sorry to you ten thousand times. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry,

  742. I kick you up.

  743. It's sorry. Sorry.

  744. Then I keep you again, it's sorry, sorry, Because why

  745. Jesus say forgive seventy seven times? So so you just

  746. keep forgiving Mela, can or not? But has there been

  747. any repentance?

  748. Why not?

  749. Thank you for the honest answer. Why is there no repentance?

  750. I'm saying sorry.

  751. Exactly. No change.

  752. You keep doing the same thing over and over again

  753. and you expect a change. By the way, that's the

  754. definition of someone's lunatic. Albert Einstein says that, right, if

  755. you keep doing something the same thing over and over

  756. again and expect a change, that's what you call insane.

  757. So what are we doing in our lives?

  758. Friends that if there's something that you're struggling with, are

  759. you still doing the same thing? You're still going life

  760. as routine and you expect change.

  761. To happen.

  762. Not gonna, not gonna happen, right, not gonna happen unless

  763. there is a change in your perception, in your belief

  764. of what is it that needs to change?

  765. Okay, So it's.

  766. It's not just can I tell you and and and

  767. Max is quite right, right, It's it's turning your direction.

  768. So if you're walking this way, you're walking in your habits,

  769. you're walking in sin. It's not just turning away from it, right,

  770. because I can just turn away.

  771. Look at me, Ah, if I'm walking.

  772. This way along sin, but I just turned away from

  773. sin and I'm walking this direction now, it does not

  774. mean that I'm walking in the direction of God. Do

  775. you see that I can just turn away from my

  776. bad habits. I can just turn away from alcohol. I

  777. can just turn away from whatever it is. But if

  778. I'm not turning to the right direction, which is to

  779. what God that is not repentance, I might just try

  780. and feel sorry about things, you know, try to do good.

  781. But do you know that the only one that is

  782. good is God? And so it's a turning.

  783. It's a one eighty degrees change from your old lifestyle

  784. to something that God is saying, Yes, this is the

  785. way that you should walk. Yeah, walking towards Him and

  786. away from.

  787. Your old lifestyle, your old habit.

  788. That's what it is, a change of heart, a change

  789. of mind and direction.

  790. Amen. So it is this change and transformation that I hunger.

  791. You know, you're talking about revival our theme for church,

  792. this year's revival. Right, This revival right needs to start

  793. from a place of an encounter with who God is.

  794. Because without the encounter, that won't be that deep search

  795. of who God is. And without that there will not

  796. be a true repentance, a transformation. And I want our

  797. church to transform. I want all of us. I want

  798. to transform. I want to transform. And you know what happens.

  799. You know, sometimes we say you just gotta do this more,

  800. you gotta do this more. It's not about doing more,

  801. it's about being.

  802. Yeah.

  803. Sometimes we get so tired. Yeah, friends, church partners, you

  804. get tired of doing. We get tired of doing because

  805. it's coming out of external like, oh, my leader come

  806. asks me to.

  807. Do this, My home leader asks me to do this.

  808. Da da da da da. Everyone asked me to do this,

  809. My parents ask me to do this.

  810. So you're just doing because there's all these external pressures.

  811. But until you come to a place where it's an

  812. innate internal change, then you will get tired. Do you

  813. know what fires you is from within? The engine that

  814. needs fuel is the fire of God comes into our hearts,

  815. to our minds, and it feels us. Do you know

  816. why people can do ministry for long without burnout? And

  817. I'm speaking to real situations here. Sometimes we can give

  818. and give and give, and we're like, I'm experiencing burnout,

  819. and I want to minister to you and just say,

  820. maybe it's time to refuel inside. Don't just serve externally

  821. because you think that all these things that I need

  822. to do is the right thing to do.

  823. But there is no refueling. There is no fire.

  824. There's no fuel in us, and that is the Holy

  825. Spirit within us. You know why I say this, Let's

  826. go to extrapter night and this is what Howard Saul

  827. to become poor verse eighteen, verse eighteen, And this is

  828. and the night. Yes, right, okay, let's read from verse seventeen.

  829. After the prophetic suffering that was given over, saw Annius

  830. went on his way and entered the house. He went obediently,

  831. and laying his hands on him, he said, brother Saul, Wow,

  832. from someone who said, do you.

  833. Know this guy is really persecuting you? He actually turned.

  834. Do you know that Ananias had to change your mind?

  835. He called him brother. He knew that this guy was

  836. on the same side as him. You know that this

  837. is how reconciliation happens. People who are opposite you and

  838. you're like, oh, we are totally disagreeing. But when you

  839. obey the Lord, he changes us. And then he went

  840. on him and said, brother, saw the Lord Jesus, who

  841. appeared to you on the road as you came, has

  842. sent me that you may receive your sight and be

  843. filled with.

  844. Ther be filled with holy spirit. And verse eighteen.

  845. Immediately there fell from his eyes something like skills. And

  846. he received his side at once, and he arose and

  847. was baptized. And when he had received food, he was strengthened.

  848. Then Saul spent some days with the disciples at Damascus.

  849. Now this is the fruit that we want, right and

  850. this is the fruit, he says in verse twenty. Immediately

  851. he preached the christ in the synagogues that he.

  852. Is there, that he is who son of God. Do

  853. you believe Jesus is the son of God?

  854. Because if you believe that he is the son of God. Right,

  855. do you know that there's nothing that you cannot do

  856. in your life? It changes everything to how you look

  857. at the challenges in your life, every situation, because you say,

  858. my God is not just a good teacher.

  859. He is He's the son of God. What does that

  860. mean to you? Son of God, Son of God, Son

  861. of God. Does he have all powers in the world?

  862. I believe he does.

  863. Does he have sovereign control over everything on earth?

  864. He does?

  865. Do you know how important for you to be able

  866. to say, I believe that Jesus is not just God,

  867. but he is the son of God. And he's not

  868. just the son of God. He's my savior. And he's

  869. not just my savior, he is my Lord. Do you

  870. know you can call Jesus savior, but you don't call

  871. him master. Being able to call him my lord means

  872. you are subjected to his lordships. It's almost like a

  873. slave and a master's sort of position. You know, Right,

  874. when you can call Jesus you are my lord, it

  875. means I'm waiting to serve you. I'm waiting to hear

  876. what you say. Whatever you command, I will do. That

  877. is a position of someone who can call Jesus you

  878. are my Lord.

  879. You are my Lord.

  880. You're not just my provider, You're not just you know,

  881. my ATM machine.

  882. You are my Lord.

  883. And therefore Saul became Paul because he understood he had

  884. the answer to that question, who are you Lord? And

  885. so I'm going to ask the team, the band to

  886. come and I want to minister. I'm going to give

  887. us a chance to respond to the Lord. There's two

  888. calls here, okay. The first one is for those who

  889. have not received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. And

  890. I want to tell you that this is crucial to

  891. our lives as believers. If you you know of Jesus,

  892. you know of God the Father, but you do not

  893. know the Holy Spirit. That I want to give you

  894. that invitation to say, I want to receive the Holy

  895. Spirit because you know that without the Holy Spirit, you

  896. can never fulfill your calling, your wark as a follow

  897. of Jesus, you cannot be effective in your ministry. Do

  898. you know Jesus himself was baptized with the Holy Spirit

  899. the derve came upon him, So you thought Jesus was

  900. just powerful. No, he received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Okay,

  901. So that's the first call. The first call is for

  902. those who say, yes, I want to receive the Holy

  903. spapit and the rest of us, can we just be

  904. praying and expecting for the move of God. Be expecting

  905. for the move the Holy Spirit. Children, if you feel

  906. that you also want to receive the baptism, come.

  907. Okay.

  908. This is for everyone, It's not just for adults. The

  909. second call is this. I believe there are some of

  910. us who need to come to a place of repentance.

  911. And when I say repentance, it's not just feeling sorry

  912. for sin, but it's coming to this place where you're

  913. repenting of the way that you have seen God in

  914. your life, the way you have treated Him, the way you.

  915. Have believed and perceived about Him. Who is have you?

  916. Has he been reduced in your mind? Or does that

  917. need to be a repentance, a change in your mind

  918. about who God truly is in your life? And so

  919. I'm gonna open the altar. I'm just gonna put this aside,

  920. and I'm gonna ask all of us to stand. All

  921. of us can stand. There is no shame in repentance.

  922. You know.

  923. I remember the story in Look that.

  924. Says there was a pharisee and a text collector that

  925. came to the temple. And the pharisee came before the

  926. Lord and said, I thank God.

  927. You know that I'm a good person.

  928. I gave my thighs and you know, yeah, I serve God.

  929. You know, I'm pretty okay, God, thank you.

  930. He came with that kind of attitude.

  931. And there behind him, just at the outer courts, I

  932. was a text collector.

  933. And he came in.

  934. He was beating his chest. He did not even lift

  935. up his eyes. He says, God, forgive me, for I

  936. am a sinner.

  937. Forgive me. I do not deserve this.

  938. And Jesus said it was the man who was beating

  939. his chest and saying, God, I repent.

  940. I repent.

  941. I am a sinner, and that's why I need a savior.

  942. And he went home justified, not the pharisee. So we

  943. don't want to be Pharisee said, we don't want to

  944. have the attitude of a pharisee thinking I'm okay, I'm

  945. not that bad.

  946. You know my life has been I'm a pretty good person.

  947. And so.

  948. We want to come to this place of just saying God,

  949. I repent. It doesn't have to be an emotional thing.

  950. It's just a decision that you make. I'm changing my mind.

  951. I'm going to call you my Lord. I'm calling you

  952. my savior. I'm calling you the Son of God. That's

  953. who you are in my life.

  954. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more
