  1. You're listening to a message to go from Acts Church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day. We're

  3. gonna talk about word faithful. Okay, who did the first

  4. Well do you do the first? The first value? Right?

  5. So okay, so only you give introduction. I'm sure he

  6. did a good job. He came and preached at PJ recently,

  7. you know, and uh, they really loved him, you know.

  8. I tell you why because he showed all the graph

  9. and all the statistics, you know. And the one thing

  10. about PJ, which I'm not sure that I mentioned to

  11. you here, is somehow in PJ. Right, I find a

  12. way interesting now because there's a lot of doctors there,

  13. a lot PhD students, right, I got a few doctors

  14. study PhD. And and they're like you no, no, and

  15. it's not like arts kind of PhD. You know. They're like,

  16. you know, I don't know statistics, la research law. Oh

  17. he's got okay, okay, good, good, good, let's sry. No.

  18. So they really love love. Uh then you know, now,

  19. my mom like, I study creative, you know, never do masters. Yore.

  20. I guess I guess God is good? Aah, you know,

  21. must be something I'm saying or the law is inspiring

  22. that people are receiving. You know, I'm just joking, okay,

  23. but anyway, I'm sure he'd be a good job. Okay,

  24. we're going to talk about word faithful. Okay, and since

  25. they are a lot of PhD people here, also, let

  26. me go into the word straight Matthew to any Okay,

  27. you know, Mark, We're going to read Mark Mark chapter

  28. Mark chapter the teen. Okay, Mark Chapter the teen. Whatever

  29. I'm going to read now, I'm not going to expound

  30. on it much. Right, it has something to do with

  31. what we're gonna share about today, but not exactly. Okay,

  32. but I'm just giving you an example. Okay, So let's

  33. read Mark chapter the teen. What does it say? Here's

  34. he says. Then, as he went out of the temple,

  35. one of his disciples said to him, teachers, see what

  36. manner of stones and what buildings are here? You know,

  37. probably marveling at like look, look look at the building,

  38. Look at the wonderful bill, look at the temple. Right.

  39. And Jesus answered and said to him, do you see

  40. these great buildings? Not one stone shall be left upon

  41. another that shall not be thrown down? Well, why Jesus,

  42. why you so so emo, and I'm showing you nice architecture.

  43. Then you say, this building is you know, not going

  44. to stand long? Right? And then Jesus and he sat

  45. on the Mount of Olives opposite the Temple. Peter, James, John,

  46. and Andrew asked him privately. Okay, they asked, tell us

  47. when will these things be and what will be the

  48. sign when all these things will be fulfilled. So you've

  49. got to understand a little bit the context of why

  50. they're asking this question because they all they all knew

  51. that Jesus was the Messiah, the savior, and the cultural

  52. context on that time was that Israel was under occupation,

  53. so they were all expecting Jesus to lead the revolution

  54. and you know, save them from the Romans, and that

  55. that didn't happen, Okay, according to their expectation. That's why

  56. they are web and you're proud of their buildings, you know,

  57. built by the Temple bill by Solomon. That's why when

  58. when one of the said, oh look, look, look Jesus,

  59. look at this wonderful building, it's it's almost like we

  60. go to a church buildings. Oh look, lo load this

  61. wonderful church building. You know, look at I don't know

  62. whether any of you have gone through Putrajaya. But I

  63. remember the first time when I stepped into Projida. I

  64. was very amazed, like Malaysia so nice on now our

  65. guma buildings, you know, right ah Tangjae change one. Yeah,

  66. you know, high tech, you know. And I was very impressed.

  67. And I remember going to make my icy and I

  68. was also very impressed with the amount of counters that opened. Anyway,

  69. you know you're know alah, you know you know so

  70. so so so the tree uh in secret. They want

  71. to ask Jesus when's gonna happen, and you say, the

  72. buildings are gonna come down, you know. So they were

  73. expecting the answer, and then what did Jesus said? Jesus

  74. answered them, and answering them, began to say, take heed

  75. that no one deceives you or interesting why you start there?

  76. For many will come in my name saying I am

  77. he and will deceive many. But when you hear of

  78. wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled, for

  79. such things must happen, but the end is not yet. Hmmm.

  80. Does that not sound familiar in today's day and age? Okay,

  81. let's read Honor for nation will rise again nation hmm familiar,

  82. and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in

  83. various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These

  84. are the beginning of sorrows. Sound familiar. You read the newspaper.

  85. It's happening. Ah okay, But watch out for yourselves, for

  86. they will deliver you up to counsels, and you will

  87. be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought before

  88. rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them.

  89. And the gospel must first be preached to all nations.

  90. But when they arrest you and deliver you, do not

  91. worry beforehand or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever

  92. is given to you in that I will speak that

  93. for it. It's not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. Now,

  94. brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child,

  95. and children will rise up against parents and cause them

  96. to be put to death. And you will be hated

  97. for all my name's sake. But he who end us

  98. for the end shall be safe. So let's just understand

  99. the context. A little bit of what we just read

  100. sound verre familiar, right, sounds like things that are happening, correct,

  101. And I just want to highlight something. It says that

  102. you watch out for ourselves what they will deliver you

  103. up the councerts. Okay, I asked a very honest question.

  104. Is it easier or harder to be Christian nowadays? Right? Easier? Harder?

  105. I don't know. I remember when I was growing up

  106. as a believer. I think being a Christian was looked

  107. up towards like when you're a Christian means people got

  108. high regard over you, and quite high regard right now

  109. like you, I mean as though like where Jesus, iidn't know,

  110. you won't life, won't it? You know? Like there's a

  111. like even when you get stopped by police and you

  112. say a Christian, they won't even bother asking for any

  113. other thing? Right, Uh? You know, you know? But but

  114. don't you realize that actually nowadays it's harder to be Christian,

  115. that your beliefs are very archaic, that whatever you believe

  116. is not progressive. Do you realize do you notice there

  117. is actually getting harder to be a believer harder? And

  118. I'm not sure how many of you actually dare to

  119. say they're a Christian in your workplace there to say

  120. they go to church. Right. I don't know, okay, but

  121. it looks like whatever that Jesus said a long time

  122. ago is happening. Let's read on now. Okay. So when

  123. you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel

  124. the prophet, standing where it ought not, let the reader

  125. understand that. Then let those who are injury flee to

  126. the mountains. Let him who is in the house stop,

  127. not go down into the house, not enter to take

  128. anything out of his house, And len him who is

  129. the field not go back to his clothes. But war

  130. to those who are pregnant and to those who are

  131. nursing babies in those days and prey day or flight

  132. may not be in winter, For in those days there

  133. will be tribulation such as has not been since the

  134. beginning of the creation which God created until this time,

  135. nor ever shall be. And unless the Lord has shortened

  136. those days, no flesh will be saved. But for the

  137. elect sake, whom he chose, he shortened the days. Then

  138. if anyone says to you, look here is the Christ,

  139. or look he is there, do not believe it, for

  140. false Christs and false prophets will rise and show signs

  141. and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. But

  142. thea kead also, I've told you all these things beforehand. Guys,

  143. this is something just a long time ago, long time ago.

  144. Let's read on. But those days after that tribulation, the

  145. sun will be darkened and the moon will not give

  146. it light. The starts of heaven will fall, and the

  147. powers in the heavens will be shaken. Then they will

  148. see the Sun of Man coming in the clouds with

  149. great power and glory. Then he will send his angels

  150. and gather together his elect from the four winds, from

  151. the farthest part of Earth to the farthest part of Heaven.

  152. Now learn this parable from the Big Victory. When its

  153. branch has already become tender and puts fourth leaves, you

  154. know that summer is near. So you also, when you

  155. see these things happening, know that it is near at

  156. the doors. Surely, I say to you, this generation will

  157. by no means pass away till all these things take place.

  158. And this is the part I want to highlight. Heaven

  159. and Earth will pass away, but my words will by

  160. no means pass away. Okay, well, she wanted that scripture.

  161. I'm not going to go expound about it, but I

  162. just want to highlight some things the first part and

  163. I will break it into like three actually four parts. Right,

  164. the first part actually happened really or is happening right now? Right? Wallah?

  165. This lah false profits lah. You know, I don't know

  166. what that I share here before. But there was a

  167. Netflix documentary about cults, you know, and I was very

  168. intrigued about it. Got very interested, you know, not to

  169. start out, but to find out how it works and

  170. how people get into it and do you just to

  171. let you know, a lot of cuts happen in the States.

  172. I don't know, why go figure you know, very funny.

  173. Uh so so, so there are a lot of things

  174. things happening ready with Jesus has predicted the paragraph or

  175. the passage after that, now haven't happened yet. Haven't happened yet?

  176. No mhm means it's going to happen. And then of

  177. course the last part, Jesus gave an assurance that he

  178. will come back right and uh, you know the part

  179. where it says you know and Jesus also know that

  180. it's a sad thing because it says that you know, uh,

  181. you know, people arrest you brother will be tray brother.

  182. I mean, he really says it's gonna happen now, right,

  183. And he said that this is the beginning of sorrows.

  184. Means that you're gonna be set up, you know, right.

  185. Uh So he really said all these things that in

  186. his word. This is why the word of God is powerful.

  187. So my first point, the word of God is unshakable. Okay.

  188. So the statement is heaven and earth will pass away,

  189. but his word will not pass away. People have tried

  190. to get rid of this word. Tried. They have tried

  191. this guy named Hitler. He wasn't very successful. In fact,

  192. that name now not so nice. Nobody want to use

  193. that name. Right. It's attached to a lot of things

  194. that is an abomination to the Lord. Because God never

  195. likes Livee's being lost one. It is never in God's plan.

  196. In fact, God always talks about the sanctity of life.

  197. You read the Time commments. It talks about do not

  198. take another person's life. Right, So that's something that God

  199. is right big on. So the word of God, this

  200. Bible that we read, is unshakeable. See it also means

  201. that whether you or I agree or disagree, or whether

  202. people agree, it doesn't matter. It's not about agreement, it's

  203. about truth. You're your catch that. Okay, you gotta understand

  204. that first, because if you don't understand us believers, then

  205. we're gonna get deceived. Do you understand what deception is? Okay,

  206. let me give you an example. I use this example

  207. this morning. It's very good. So I remember the first

  208. time I walked into a gym, uh you know, at

  209. the time, like I think it was thirty plus a

  210. new exercise, and then near my house got two gyms,

  211. Anytime Fitness and then the Celerity Fitness. Then we got

  212. the we got I got the I think the free

  213. free Tesla free try, and I told my said, oh,

  214. I'll take a free try Trier. I must sign up,

  215. you know, and join the gym, right, and I went.

  216. I went, and then the first time they will assign

  217. you a ptler. Then they accumiliate you because you go

  218. and do the BMI and it's always very high on right,

  219. and then you realize that actually your abest all these

  220. things are okay. So I went through it, and after

  221. the BT session, I went and I ran on the

  222. trademill for ten minutes and stopped because tyren La and

  223. then I walked towards the vending machine, and I was

  224. very impressed with the vending machine because they were telling

  225. a lot of things that you cannot find other places.

  226. On No, I wouldn't say all exactly. And because I

  227. was there ten minutes, right, and I really exercised, I

  228. wanted to treat myself right. So I bought something from

  229. the vending machine. I had that thing, I enjoyed myself,

  230. and I walked out the gym, never to return. So, friends,

  231. if I tell you that I went to the gym,

  232. will you believe me? You will? Right? I did. I

  233. did go to the gym, But did I really go

  234. to the gym? Let me give you a deeper example,

  235. because I think I don't know whether Dan was there,

  236. but there was. Once we had a CBC retreat, I

  237. think last year CBC retreat. And then the interesting thing

  238. that I would share with you its last time when

  239. we were younger, when we had our retreats, right, we

  240. used to have this author snacks, you know, the joke okay,

  241. LK bye, you know. And then because we really want

  242. to take care of our leaders, and we really enjoyed

  243. the autos. Next when we were younger. But the older

  244. we get. Now this's got no he goes. Nobody touches,

  245. you know, because more health conscious and actually all of

  246. your chest leaders are quite healthy. One. Now we all

  247. go to the gym. Elpinghole runs five km. I think

  248. doctor Daniel now also running. Don't know how many MD

  249. okay every day, every day, Okay, I cannot, I cannot okay.

  250. I would just stick to whatever I'm familiar with. So

  251. all of us, you know, when even though now we

  252. we go gym, you know, always go. Jim and I

  253. remember that morning passed the keough. He had lunch with us.

  254. Uh he can breakfast with us, and we were just

  255. talking loud, and he gave this very interesting example and

  256. he was just joking. Like I said, he yo and

  257. gym right. I also went, he said, like he said,

  258. he went out, he went check out the machines la.

  259. You know. But the rest of us we were we

  260. were we went to the gym to do the gim

  261. I know. But I went to look at the machine

  262. and say hello to us and give us one of

  263. the board. And but but he could say he went right.

  264. And the joke was he tell he told us, I

  265. mean he used it as an as an example during

  266. our devotion, he actually said, hey, guys, you went to

  267. the gym, right, I just went to the gym, you know,

  268. and all of a sudden just happy with that. And

  269. he said, but if you ask deeper questions, then you

  270. will know whether the person really went to the gym

  271. or not. If you get what I mean right, Like

  272. which machine you use, how many minutes, how many calories

  273. you burn? Right? What exercise you cross in? Do you

  274. know that we can actually come to church and say

  275. I can judge I didn't my I worship, I did

  276. all the I I checked the boxes. But have we

  277. really or not? And that is what deception is, guys.

  278. That's that's the part we have to catch though, because

  279. no nobody can point it out and say, you know,

  280. because it's very but I'm behindhl. I think this so

  281. that we will not deceive ourselves. That's why when the

  282. Bible says, don't deceive yourself, we've got to take q

  283. in it whether we are really deceiving ourselves or not. Right, like,

  284. like we go we are there, but are we really there?

  285. Are we really or or we just check off the boxers? Right?

  286. Because you see, you check out the boxes, you don't

  287. stuck in the world. You feel good, live feel good,

  288. but didn't really do it. You know, I could say

  289. I did I start going to the gym, then no,

  290. I didn't. In fact, talk about deception. Okay, I signed

  291. up for one year for anytime fitness. I can count

  292. the amount of times my hands are in the one

  293. year many time were no every month, two hundred year.

  294. Don't you think that it's deception, as in I block

  295. myself because I got the gym membership. Friends, don't live

  296. life that way. Don't live life in deception, right, don't

  297. live life in deception, live life in truth, because when

  298. you live your life in truth, you will have freedom.

  299. I'll share a little bit about that later. Okay. So

  300. Bible says heaven and earth will pass away, but my

  301. words will by no means pass away. Psalms one three

  302. eight two says I will worship toward your holy temper

  303. and praise your name for your loving kindness and your truth.

  304. For your You have magnified your word above all your name.

  305. See God has magnified his word. Remember I said that

  306. God's way is unshakable. Right. The word here is powerful, friends, Right,

  307. it is powerful. So we all know this. I don't

  308. think any of you will disagree me when I say

  309. God's way is important. Right. In fact, God's way is

  310. so important that sometimes we only come for the Word.

  311. We skip worship. Right, We don't come for worship, you know,

  312. because word is important. Friends, you know, worship is okay, one,

  313. fellowship is okay one. The word is important. Right, so

  314. we can agree with that, right. I was just telling

  315. PJ this morning that I encourage you, and I say,

  316. you know the word is important. I agree. But the

  317. thing about worship is that it primes your heart to

  318. be ready to receive the word of God. Your cash

  319. there not you cannot have. You can't have the Word

  320. without worship can but then you will tickle your intellectual years.

  321. This is why people can be selective over messages and

  322. preatures because their heart was not prime to receive what

  323. God wanted them to hear. Because when you worship God,

  324. your heart will be prime to receive. You get I'm

  325. a prime mary NATed, saturated, prepared to receive the Word

  326. of God. Isn't that deception too? This picture not goola

  327. You're ready to receive or not? Because when you have

  328. a heart or worship, when God speaks, you will listen. No,

  329. when you are just listening to a good word, it's

  330. a different kind of deception. This how people get deceived. Friends,

  331. This how get deceived. So I'm just cautioning you don't

  332. get deceived. That's why worship is important. That's why the

  333. word is important. Yes, so we all know as good

  334. Christians that the Word of God is important. But the

  335. real question that we've got to ask ourselves is how

  336. important is it in our own lives? Okay? How important?

  337. Where is the Word of God placed in our lives

  338. and in our priorities? Just something for us to think about.

  339. I'm not going to point fingers here. I'm not going

  340. to say or no, no, no. You see, our friends,

  341. even if you're a Bible scholar and you know the

  342. Bible from the front to the banger, it may not

  343. be the most important thing in your life, you know,

  344. because it's not just my hate knowledge and the reality

  345. in life our friends, which the older I get, the

  346. older I know, is that we actually have different priorities

  347. in life. One. So if you really check your heart

  348. off hearts, you will know what is number one. And

  349. it may not be God's words, or it may not

  350. be this is part of you know, that's the thing.

  351. I'm just highlighting, not to say you're a horrible person.

  352. Highlight think so that you will not deceive yourself, so

  353. that you will have a heart check. So I say, okay, hey,

  354. maybe I need to realign my priorities. Maybe I need

  355. to realign what is important or what should be important,

  356. because we know that it is important. But is it?

  357. Where is it in the ranking? Where is it in

  358. the ranking? Okay? Hebrews fortual says, for the Word of

  359. God is living and powerful and sharper than any two ages,

  360. sort piercing even to the division of soul and spirit,

  361. and of joints and the mirror. It is a discerner

  362. of the thoughts and the intents of the heart. This

  363. is why I believe that when we read the Word

  364. of God when you are you know, when you have

  365. the Word of God in your life, when you come

  366. to church has to be changed. One that has to change.

  367. On friends, you cannot not change a no. So if

  368. you're not changing or I'm not changing, that means that

  369. something's not happening. Either there's deception like we establishers now

  370. could be deception, right, or a priority issue because the

  371. reality of what I know. See, God loves us so much, right,

  372. he will never allow us to be in the same place.

  373. He always wants us to move forward. And if you

  374. look back in your life the past five years, I

  375. can tell you and you say, yeah, I progress even

  376. a little bit. God is doing something. Allow him to

  377. do more. That's the power. But if there's no movement,

  378. then something is out of wag ready. There has to

  379. be adjustment. And the only person that can just is you.

  380. No one else can preach here until the cows come home.

  381. You know you can. Doesn't work one, friends, doesn't work one.

  382. Everybody has free will one. You know, that's the power

  383. of the world of God. James five says, be doers

  384. of the world, not hear us only deceiving yourselves, or

  385. even say that deceiving, Just here deceiving. For if anyone

  386. is a hero of the word and not, he's like

  387. a man observing his natural face in the mirror. For

  388. who observes himself goes away immediately, forgets what com man

  389. he is. But he who looks into the perfect law

  390. of liberty and continues in it, it's not a forgetful hearer,

  391. but the doer of the work, this one will be

  392. blessed in what he does. So word faithful. Friends. She's

  393. interesting when you look at the fourth value, because not

  394. just talking about the word of God. Because all of

  395. us can agree about the Word of God, but can

  396. we agree to be faithful with the word of God.

  397. You'll catch that saying that the Word of God is

  398. true is correct. But being faithful with it, with the

  399. truth that He gives us, is that something all of

  400. us can participate on it. I believe we can. And

  401. we're not saying that everybody needs to be Bible scholars

  402. and no, no need. You know, there's one line that

  403. we always say that I remember we used to say

  404. an ex You know it is better to know one

  405. verse and apply in your lives rather than know the

  406. whole Bible. But don't follow any of it. Theologian know everything,

  407. can do all the Bible study, but never practice. Let

  408. me shure you one scripture that is close to my

  409. heart until today, right Matthew sixty three sicky vers the

  410. King of God, and all of this shall be added

  411. to you. This was a scripture that God has given me.

  412. You know, when I was deciding whether I want to

  413. join full time or not. Right. Even before I had family,

  414. even before it had kids, there was a scripture that

  415. I remember, and I know some of you might have

  416. that scripture, and different ones say you might have a

  417. scripture that's close to you, because this is a scripture

  418. that God's not just spoke to you, the scripture that

  419. comes alive. Quote, it's not just a memory verse, No,

  420. it's real, friends, right, And of course from then on

  421. there many more other scriptures. Right, Luke saves sixty eight,

  422. Give and be given to you, you know, push down

  423. right or flowing? Okay, I need to record it, but

  424. it's one of my favorite scriptures about you know, about giving.

  425. And that scripture that I remember is freely as you

  426. have received, freely, give right, so give freely? Right. There

  427. are many many scriptures. Can we live out those scriptures? Friends,

  428. live it out right, follow it, do it right. Another

  429. thing about the word of God that is powerful is

  430. that the word of God anchors us in a changing world. Right.

  431. Remember I mentioned just now that it's hard to be Christian.

  432. It is, but do you know that the word of

  433. God is the anchor the anchors however crazy the world evolves?

  434. See how how the world the world has evolved. I

  435. remember when I was younger. It was a different time.

  436. You are not innocent. There was not so many alphabets

  437. to remember. Now got so many alphabets called plus minus.

  438. You know, I'm not gonna go through them. I don't

  439. get into a but but but but see see how

  440. the world has evolved. See how there is a redefinition

  441. of love. See how there's a redefinition of marriage. There

  442. is no because it's more progressive. You'll catch that word

  443. more progressive, right, And the Bible is more old school

  444. more what was I don't know whatever word that people

  445. use it la, Right, But see this the interesting thing. Okay.

  446. And maybe I'm biased because I've been in ches for

  447. so long. Okay, maybe lah, Maybe I'm biased. Lah, And

  448. I'm an old man, right forty blasts right, maybe, But

  449. I've come to recognize, right that when the Bible says

  450. that God's works is his truth, that when we follow

  451. in the world of God, even in the way we

  452. live our life, we will experience abundant life, in marriage,

  453. in family, in love, in fulfillment, in peace. But then

  454. the world is subscribing another kind of thing. What is

  455. the fruit of that I have not seen good fruits

  456. out of here. No, so I have come to my

  457. own study, you know, my own understanding, my own reading

  458. of the word, and I am with you. I'm not

  459. a Bible scholar, right, I'm not as powered as power.

  460. And you can go and talk to him, right, But

  461. I've come to realize and recognize her that really this

  462. is the anchor that, however crazy the world is, if

  463. you just need to, all you need to do is

  464. just follow. Okay, this is how a family need works.

  465. This is what love means. Right. The definition of love

  466. you know in the Bible is powerful. Now is more

  467. power than any other love that you can find on earth. No. Right,

  468. when you can accept that now and the old school right,

  469. you will anchor you on it will give you less headache.

  470. Let me give you some examples of that. Because the

  471. Bible teaches us how to forgive, right, how to forgive

  472. someone wrong? You forgive? Isn't that a powerful thing? Forgiveness? Right?

  473. Because if you don't forgive, what will happens? You don't forgive,

  474. then there'll be bitterness and you don't know word a person.

  475. Then it just gives, It just spirals out of control. Right,

  476. and then from doing away the person to don't away

  477. these type people to you know, it becomes crazy and crazier.

  478. But God addresses it from the beginning forgive no more,

  479. no more problem freedom. Okay, let me let me go forward.

  480. So first Corinthians one five says, five says, because the

  481. foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness

  482. of God is stronger than men. Basically, even God's foolishness

  483. is smarter than Youola and me, ah, and how weak

  484. he is, so he's still stronger than Elsa. Right, even

  485. in God's weakness, he's still stronger us. That's what Cornthians say, right.

  486. Let me read John tewenteen fourteen to nineteen. It says,

  487. I've given them your word, and the world has hated

  488. them because they are not of the world. So, friends,

  489. don't be surprised that if you profess that your believer,

  490. you were be hated by the world. You be hated

  491. by the world. Impressions are I'm not talking about truth

  492. and reality, I'm talking about impressions. Okay, So maybe my

  493. encouragement is don't be so quick to want to please everybody. Law.

  494. I think we just need to place Jesus law canna

  495. and again, I don't have to be don't have to

  496. fight one know, this kind of thing. We just need

  497. to love. Do you know that Jus never find anybody,

  498. just never argue anybody. When Jesus was presented in front

  499. of the senderin he didn't defend himself. And I guess

  500. that's the way we need to go as Christians are right,

  501. we're not expecting everybody here to be keyboard warrior. No,

  502. no expecting actually wear tying one right, it is, it

  503. is we're tiring when we get into their mode. No need,

  504. let's read on. I do not pray that you take

  505. them out of the world, but that you should keep

  506. them from the evil one. They are none of the world,

  507. just and I'm not of the world. Sanctify them by

  508. your truth. Your word is truth. As you sent me

  509. into the world, I also send them into the world,

  510. and for their six I sanctify myself that they also

  511. may be sanctified by the truth. Okay, so let's talk

  512. about word faithfuler and talk about the power of the word.

  513. So I've got this little graph here based on John

  514. seventeen and can go next. Nothing else just not also

  515. like empty, because God that should be a words sanctify there, Ah, okay, nice, okay.

  516. How many of you here still use sanitizer? God? God,

  517. God still last sanitize your hand every day? God? No,

  518. not really are because we're dry, right A tobal lotion? Yeah?

  519. Uh you know. Yeah, I'm sure you sanctified, got right,

  520. you got I not the animal? So how yeah? Anything? Okay?

  521. So so we use right because if you don't sanitize

  522. what happened got germs, ma, I'm sure you got that.

  523. If you go hospital, you come at your sanitizes coming here,

  524. don't don't do that, right I. Also, you know, every

  525. time I go to buy, like go marketing, touch all

  526. the meat, you know, because you want to avoid another coronavirus. Right,

  527. also going you know, sanitize, right, So the word of

  528. God sanctifies us according to the word. Okay, it sanctifies

  529. what doesn't mean it cleanses you and me. And it

  530. doesn't just cleanse us as it keeps us fuel. Let

  531. me give you this example, right, Imagine someone who doesn't

  532. only sanitize sends once in his life, never after that, right,

  533. So just sanitize one time and good enough right after tenaces,

  534. then then go and touch everything touch everyone eat you

  535. know works right? What happens Frans there will be gems la.

  536. Is he enough just sanitizing one time? No, you have

  537. to because you when you touch germs, then germs in

  538. your hand, and then if you're not careful, you touch

  539. and then you spread the gems. Right means that Let's

  540. say my wife, she sanitizes, she re takes care of

  541. herself and the husbandner. You know, not really believe that

  542. sanitize one time enough for the rest of my life.

  543. I don't need to. And then I hold her hand.

  544. Don't you think, however much she is sanitized, I will

  545. spread germs to her. Let me change sanitizes to the

  546. world of God. Do you know that when you have

  547. the word of God in your life, it sanitized and

  548. cleanses you. What is the word of God? Say? I

  549. gave it example just now? The word of God says,

  550. forgive friends, I see a lot of you here or

  551. how am you here? Still living this stey Lana And

  552. you will never get offender on God and never never

  553. nobody will offend you ever, no such thing. Right, I'm

  554. sure someone have offended you, even maybe just now or

  555. so huh you jump to high or sing to loud. Huh,

  556. why can't you worship in quiet? You know, I don't know.

  557. I just joking. Okay, go on, right, go on confirm one,

  558. confirm no matter what happens, you will touch germs. One.

  559. We're still in this fallen world corona. Then how forgive law?

  560. Use the sanitizer law word of God law? Couse would have?

  561. God said forgive ma. So when when you get offender, forgive,

  562. then you said free, no more germs. But if you

  563. don't forgive, then the germs are Germany, German, it German.

  564. It become bitterness. You're your seat. You'll catch it, You'll

  565. catch win. You need a word have got in your lives.

  566. That's just one example, right, giveness. It's just one example.

  567. What else are the world? Word of God said? Love

  568. love one another? Right, That's what the love God asked us?

  569. Do love people? You know? Hard? Is it to love

  570. people or not? Do you know that that's saying that

  571. you hurt the one you love the most. I'm all

  572. like the one that you love the most hurt you more.

  573. It's tough. But what does the word of God say?

  574. How does the word of God cleanses us? Why is

  575. it important that we have the Word of God in

  576. our lives. We all go through disappointments in life healing.

  577. How many were believing for healing for a loved ones,

  578. I tell you got no, you got no word of God.

  579. There's no hope, no friends. Do you know by having

  580. the word of God and lives, I still hope that

  581. God will heal. And God has healed. Just this morning

  582. we heard a healing testimony. One of our homies fell down,

  583. you know, want to show that she's muture. No, no, I'm fine,

  584. I'm fine. Then go inside the car, the hand tingling ready, right,

  585. But she said as I took communion, I declared, I'm healed.

  586. She was healed during homes Amen. There was a powerful testimony,

  587. and we've heard so many and because of that we

  588. have hope. Isn't there a better way to live? Or

  589. no hopela one? Doctors say, can a means that city?

  590. We just surrender to the no Christians all everet we

  591. are a bit tic skin one right? Doctors say cannot

  592. we say? Can we pray? Colon? Isn't that sanctifying by

  593. the word? Doesn't that set you free? You'll catch about this?

  594. I think free and truth or not? That's how we

  595. need the word in our lives. Amen. The world attacks

  596. the word. They don't understand it, which is why we

  597. must be its most faithful defenders and doers. Doers of

  598. the word. We do. Don't just listen, don't just kive

  599. in the heart. We do right. John eight three thirty

  600. six says, Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed him,

  601. if you're abiding my word and you are my disciples,

  602. indeed you shall know the truth, and the truth shall

  603. set you free. They answered him, we are Abraham's descendants,

  604. and I've never been in bondage to anyone. How can

  605. you say you'll be made free? Interestinger. So Jesus was

  606. telling the Jews, Hey, if you're buying my word and

  607. my disciples, you will know the truth and the truth

  608. say free. But they are like, Hello, we've been Christian

  609. all our life. What do you mean by said free?

  610. What do you mean by you know? We've never been

  611. in bondage? I prayed, and none of us here be

  612. like that that we're ignorant just because we already come

  613. to Sunday service. Hey, God, remember I came, I gave

  614. the offeringer. Remember do you know that for them. It's

  615. all about checkbox. You see how I've gone to I've

  616. gone to. Hey, God, you see how I preach in

  617. those services? Say, do you know please give me more

  618. brownie points today? I sacrificed my beauty sleep to come

  619. here to preach to these people. They are not paying attention.

  620. I'm I know you're py intention a bit more response,

  621. I pja crowd. Okay, uh, maybe it costs money. They're

  622. just waking out loud, right. I pray we will not

  623. be deceived this way right, And Jesus answered them most assuredly.

  624. I say to whoever commits a sin is a slave

  625. of sin. And a slave does not abide in the

  626. house forever, but the sun abides forever. Therefore, if the

  627. sun makes you free, you should be free. Indeed, let

  628. me give you this example this way. But let's go

  629. to the example of us abiding. So what does abiding mean?

  630. Abiding is hearing the word of God. So right now,

  631. it's good because you guys are hearing. That's why listening

  632. to messages is something we all like. Something's reading on

  633. our owner is a bit difficult. Let me tell you why.

  634. You see, when the Bible shares something and somethings are

  635. quite just literal meanings. Faith comes by hearing faith parts

  636. are hearing. So how can your faith come by hearing

  637. the word of God? Not reading the word of God? Okay,

  638. read God later we read in Joshua. But hearing the

  639. word of God is whay your faith was arise. That's

  640. why for some of you hear right now, your faith

  641. is arising because you're hearing the word of God. And

  642. once we hear the word of God, we need to

  643. keep it in our heart. We need to meditate in it.

  644. We need it. Remember, Okay, I catch this word, I'm

  645. going to keep it in my heart. I'm going to

  646. let it germinate. Right and then we got to practice?

  647. Why practice? Because none of us here we'll get it

  648. right one So you got to practice. I still remember

  649. the first time I prayed for someone in missions. You know,

  650. you see it's one thing knowing and learning about prayer

  651. and hearing all the testimonies. But how many are you here?

  652. You live to pray for cancers and cancer patients? You know,

  653. if someone got crippled the lake look funny, You're like,

  654. pray for me so that God can hear me. How

  655. do you want say I will go there and I'm

  656. the person. Do you know how scary it is when

  657. you go for a mission trip and you're the team

  658. leader and you're a young person and then they bring

  659. you the worst case don't know what case, worst case

  660. and they believe that when you lay hands they will

  661. be Do you know how scary it is? I remember

  662. that day by improved. I'm braver. Now I pray with

  663. more confidence. Now see, it takes practice. You know what

  664. else it takes. It also takes that when you practice,

  665. God meets you halfway. That when you pray, God uses

  666. that prayer that yeah, I just heard. I was just

  667. talking to someone. Someone came to uh uh you know

  668. our office passy one was there and basically this year

  669. we are starting to fundraise for Timmy the society, you know,

  670. because the church has been very generous, but we want

  671. to come to a place where we were able to so,

  672. you know, see different bills for a fundraise. And there

  673. was a partner that came all the way from New Life,

  674. you know, and you're just sharing his story to us,

  675. and he just said, you know, I was looking for church.

  676. I came to exste in Line found out but ex

  677. Church came to ask me, like, he actually joined us

  678. in our twenty twelve revel in stadium. There it was.

  679. I was there. They're like, oh, really the goal, you know.

  680. And then he joined a few years later and he

  681. was like, you know, I came and he said, I've

  682. always had a shoulder egg, always had, you know, And

  683. I was going through it that day when I went

  684. passially wanted switching. And when she preached at the end

  685. of course we do our auto coit, she said, there

  686. were three people here, one with the lake pin, one

  687. with the side pin, and one of the shoulder pin.

  688. I want to pray for you. He's like, oh, then

  689. he prayed. He lift that sends. He got immediately, no

  690. more problem for a few years. He's dealing with it.

  691. And the cool thing was that that was the first

  692. time pussally One heard it. This guy has been coming

  693. to New Life for years, ready, you know. And she's like,

  694. I've never heard this testimony. He said, I never show you.

  695. Now I'm like, great, now you'll know see when God

  696. missed your halfway, you will be braver. But you got

  697. to start. You got to start by going to missions.

  698. You got to start by by saying yes, I will

  699. be a leader. You got to start by coming out

  700. to say hey, I want to You got to start

  701. by taking care of people. You got to start somewhere.

  702. You got to start by serving. Whatever your next level is,

  703. you got to start. Then you practice, and then from

  704. practice you will start doing right. The cool thing is

  705. you might discover your gifting and then every time you

  706. have that, they have this issue, we'll go to you.

  707. Can you please because we recognize your gifting. We people

  708. recognize the gifting that you have in your life. But

  709. it starts your abiding God's worth, your catch, that your cash,

  710. that sparts abiding Godsworth right, and he says, here a

  711. sun abides forever. Okay, let me let me give you

  712. this analogy about God's word and okay, so let's say

  713. if okay, these examples personally, I cannot relate to this example.

  714. But if you are here and you have a good

  715. relationship with your family, like your your dad or maybe

  716. your dad. Okay, you've got a good relationship or dad, Okay,

  717. he's someone you can respect, someone you can you know,

  718. you know the words, you know you're really hold strongly.

  719. If your dad said, son, daughter, this this by this

  720. booker that I'm leaving bag is all my words that

  721. you will benefit from. For those that got that kind

  722. of relationship, you can relate like you. If you don't

  723. have that, I'm sorry you're like Mila. Would you treat

  724. these words this book lightly? I don't think you will know.

  725. I think if your son and a daughter and you've

  726. got a good relationship, or your father on earth, I

  727. think if your father said this is important, you will

  728. take it to heart. That is really important, right, I

  729. said later because unfortunately I didn't have that experience. And

  730. maybe the only people to be better that I can

  731. sow like put close to that is because I benefited

  732. from the share happy with them. That's why a lot

  733. of times I say I'll just follow anyone because the

  734. word is important. Right. And here we are reading in

  735. God's word that you know, a slave does not abide

  736. in the house forever, but the son abides forever, a

  737. son and a daughter abides in a house. Right. So

  738. these book, friends, is God's word, the word of God. Right.

  739. But the difference is who are we? Who do we

  740. choose to be? Because if we are son or daughter,

  741. we will listen to it, we will take it seriously. Right.

  742. I shed that I know a young person that reads

  743. the Bible every day, right, and it's very interesting because

  744. you know you think like every day. No, No, this

  745. young person I has been reading about it every day,

  746. and I know that it's like a it's like a

  747. it's like a scheduled thing like I'm a ste the Bible,

  748. you know. Uh. And the young person schedules it in

  749. like part of home work like that, power work like that,

  750. and does it every day without fail Right, guys, I

  751. tell you this young person is gonna get so much,

  752. gained so much from the world of God. No, even

  753. if it was done now like like like routine like that.

  754. Have we been deceived by emotions that we feel that

  755. we need a ghost bump experience, then only God speaks

  756. that every day you wake up in the morning and

  757. do your quiet timer and then after that on the

  758. music and then feel then then only God speaks. But

  759. all the other days where are boring, god'st not speaking?

  760. Think about it because if you are a sunna and

  761. we can discipline, now it's not about the emotions. No,

  762. I think we have we have don't really so much

  763. on the ghost bumps? Am I saying it's bad? No? No, no, no, no,

  764. but but we can can we know the the word disciple? Right?

  765. I think the root was disciplined. Now do you know

  766. what decid is? Boring? Friends, I don't feel like going

  767. exercise every other day or no. I'm sure doctor Daniel

  768. don't feel like running every day or no. But he

  769. does it just because he's schedually in ready right, he's

  770. say a honeymoon period, so he cannot relate to that

  771. again yes, yeah, so no, so so so that so

  772. can I encourage us to do this? Read the word

  773. of got Lah even if he's boring, just just scheduling in.

  774. I don't know one verse now, last time I used

  775. to one verse. Actually, now do one chapter at least.

  776. La Just read just read it, get the habit. Read

  777. it right, John Joshua one six nine. Be strong and

  778. of good courage, For to these people you shall divide

  779. as as an inheritance, the land which I swore to

  780. their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous,

  781. that you may observe to do according to all the

  782. law which Moses, my servant commanded. You do not turn

  783. from it to the right hand or to the left,

  784. that you may prosper wherever you go. Don't deviate, friends,

  785. godspel it's got let's not add subtract to it. Lah. Oh,

  786. but pass, we don't. I don't know. Maybe there's a

  787. discussion on eschatology. Maybe there's a discussion on the cessation

  788. of the Holy Spirit. Say all you, I'm speaking Roman

  789. Greek now right, you know some people believe that there's

  790. a cessation of the world the spirit. I'm like, oh

  791. my god, it's so complicated, right, cannot just follow the Bible.

  792. Just just read and follow the Bible. Lahyba, as you

  793. love your neighbor, love your name, Ala babba, ask your

  794. love God, love God. Lah. Well make it so complicatedd

  795. don't add, don't subtract. This book of the Law shall

  796. not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in

  797. it then and night, that you may observe to do

  798. according to all that is written in it. For then

  799. you will make your way prosperous, and then you will

  800. have good success. Heaven I commanded you be strong en

  801. of good courage. You not be afraid, do not be

  802. It's made for the Lord. Your God is with you

  803. wherever you go. God's word. Just really just follow. It's

  804. as simple as that, and maybe some of us just

  805. need to schedule it in our calendar. Just schedually in.

  806. Must you do it in the morning, I don't know

  807. after you. If you're not a morning person, then do

  808. it later. But why not just schedule it in. Just

  809. treat it like that young person I mentioned you. It's

  810. like it's like home aord like that. I have to

  811. do it. I don't like it, but I have to

  812. do it. Then just schedually in. Right, but it but

  813. every day the young person is reading every day? Amazing, right, amazing? Right?

  814. You know I challenge your XP Yeah, I said, just friends,

  815. just try it, just just try it, and maybe before

  816. you die or leave this earth, you at least read

  817. the Bible one time. At least at least I read

  818. the Bible one time. Do I fully understand? No? But

  819. I know I read. It doesn't matter of friends, because

  820. why it doesn't matter because I believe that God will

  821. use that and minister to you. Not the breaking rights

  822. that you read the Bible from cover to cover, but

  823. the breaking rights that God will start speaking through the

  824. Bible because you force yourself to read the Bible from

  825. cover to cover, your cash on, Because can that be

  826. something that we just add onto our lives make it

  827. a little bit more important, right, cannot I remember when

  828. I was young, maybe extremely can come up. I remember

  829. as young one of and I it's you know, God

  830. uses instances in our lives to teach us lessons. One, right,

  831. God also uses I believe that when we go through discouragements,

  832. so so it's also lessons we learn. You know, lessons

  833. was to be stronger, right, And one of the toughest

  834. lessons I had to learn when I was a young person.

  835. Maybe got new got really knew that he had a

  836. plan for me. I didn't know it. But when I

  837. was when I first I think it was my last

  838. year of UNI, right, And to be honest, I also

  839. not very rare in one you know to read by

  840. bye every day and all. But that year I was

  841. my my my church. The time I was a youth leader, right,

  842. And I can tell you our friends. It was the

  843. toughest time because I literally saw my youth group die

  844. because from forty people to thirty people to twenty people

  845. by the end of the year it was just me

  846. the secretary. And the secondary is I don't like me

  847. and another person. We went through different things all about

  848. friends I tell you that year God really spoke to me.

  849. And God spoke to me through this guy called Oswald

  850. Chambers because he wrote a devotion right titled my Utmost

  851. Voice Highest. Every single day I opened the devotion. Now

  852. you think that it's right, I you know, you think

  853. that it's very magical. I tell you it's so amazing

  854. because every day when I opened the devotion, and he

  855. was very simple because there was a scripture, I read

  856. a scripture, I read a devotion every day, God's words

  857. spoke to me through one of the most difficult times.

  858. I tell you, if I didn't have that, now I

  859. we have given up ministry. D like, don't want to

  860. help church, do't want to serve church help people, so

  861. they don't appreciate you know that That was probably why

  862. I have gone through. But I remember those days because

  863. it was the world of God that illuminated my path.

  864. Though in the natural I see, and to be honest

  865. with you, it didn't recover. I didn't. I would love

  866. to say, oh, I ended my term with flying colors. No,

  867. I ended my term prematurely or so. But God was

  868. not over with me because He used that to teach

  869. me to trust him. I had to trust him. I

  870. had to learn how to hear his word right. Men

  871. will see it and say such a failure. But I

  872. believe God saw it and say thank you for listening

  873. to me, my son, because He really spoke to me

  874. that one year through a devotional by a guy that

  875. died long time ago. And the England he used was

  876. quite complicated. Somehow I understood it. How would God speak

  877. to us friends, when we are work faithful, you know,

  878. although we may be going through or extra shock of values.

  879. You know, I really believe that God will use the

  880. series to minister to us, help us to grow stronger

  881. as believe us, help us to mature. That is always

  882. the goal. Our Father in heaven wants us to overcome

  883. our own challenges. You know, our Father in Heaven is

  884. very practical. So can we not be so prightful? Can

  885. we allow God to speak to our hearts? Can we say, God, yes,

  886. just going through their program, But are you saying something

  887. because that's more important? God? Are you saying something to

  888. me right now? God? Are you revealing something to me

  889. right now that is more important? Yes, we all know

  890. that the word of God is important, but how important

  891. is it to my life? That is the more important question.
