  1. You're listening to a passage to go from acts church.

  2. We hope this passage will light up your day.

  3. So we are on core value number six. What is

  4. that in your books? You see it prayer power. Well,

  5. this morning we had a really powerful time of prayer,

  6. and you know, I've been reflecting a lot on it myself,

  7. you know, on prayer and just really believing in the

  8. power of prayer and believing that we can break chains,

  9. believing that we can heal, believing that we can set

  10. people free. You know, all this sometimes we take for granted,

  11. especially for ourselves, I know for myself, And it is

  12. what I'm saying, just like, Okay, I just let the

  13. flu go by. But now I'm like, no, let's not

  14. just set though with this, Like body be healed, right,

  15. I shed even in the in the last round. So

  16. it's powerful. It's good. And you come forward and faith

  17. and thank you for us then for being sensitive to

  18. the spirit. I think you know, ef ones needed that today,

  19. like just just by faith, come forward and receive what

  20. God has for you. So today we're going to talk

  21. about the sixth value, which is called prayer powered. Okay,

  22. prayer powered. Now there is a difference Okay, it's not

  23. just we're not just talking about a position, a theological position,

  24. which is the power of prayer. We all believe in

  25. the power of prayer, right, We believe that prayer has power.

  26. We believe that what we pray God here see answers.

  27. But we're not just talking about that when we talk

  28. about this value. Okay, we are actually talking about what

  29. powers us forward. It's not just a position. I'll get

  30. to that in a bit. Okay, But but you know,

  31. we all know we pray for heally, we pray to

  32. do well in our studies, we pray for open doors

  33. at work, we pray for provision and things like this,

  34. And however, us have experienced all kinds of prayers answered

  35. in the past. I hope, I hope everyone can raise

  36. your hand. I only see a few hands. Have you

  37. had unsuppressed before? Yeah? Okay, hallelujah. God is good. Yeah.

  38. But so this this is the difference. I wanna do this.

  39. I found a little lamp in my kids room. I

  40. don't know if you can see it. Maybe I should

  41. put it here. Yeah, yeah, and see yeah. Designed, So

  42. when we say something is powered, okay, uh, let's do

  43. this for us. If I say something is battery powered.

  44. What does that mean? You put in a battery and

  45. then then he lights up? Right right? Sorry, shouldn't, shouldn't

  46. anyone's eye. So battery powered torch? If I don't have

  47. the battery inside, yes, it's a huge battery. But if

  48. I take this out, can I power on the touch? Nope?

  49. No power can work, can function without the battery. If

  50. I say something is electrically powered, what does that mean?

  51. No light?

  52. Well, words are I don't know where it came from.

  53. Somebody gave.

  54. I don't, I don't think so anyway, doesn't look like

  55. something he.

  56. Would buy somewhere.

  57. Would I bought it? So without the battery, this doesn't

  58. work without electricity. I didn't switch it off for and plug.

  59. It doesn't work, doesn't function. And so when we talk

  60. about this value prayer powered, we're saying right in X,

  61. without prayer, we're not going to function. Okay. We can't

  62. move forward, we can't do anything, we can't shine, we

  63. can't give light. Okay, So so get that. That's just

  64. setting the stage and setting the scene of what this

  65. whole message is about. This is what we mean when

  66. we say prayer powered. Okay, thank you XTV for helping

  67. the slides as well. So let's look at a couple

  68. of points. I think you in your booklet there you

  69. have the first one, which is the gift of prayer.

  70. We know that in X chapter one, everything started with prayer,

  71. right if you remember X chapter one, verse twelve, they

  72. were where in the upper room. Then were in the

  73. upper room having this prayer meeting. All the disciples were

  74. then X chapter ones that starts with prayer. For those

  75. who may not have been following through the whole thing,

  76. we're talking about these core values and everything is taken

  77. from X chapter X chapter two. Yeah, from ECT chapter two. Okay,

  78. it's not pulled out from thinner.

  79. Uh.

  80. You know, God downloaded this to pass the kenneth to

  81. our leaders to look at these values because everything is

  82. drawn from X chapter two, and that is the church

  83. we want to be, the book of X.

  84. So I think about the prayer meeting.

  85. Right, our prayer they were there and that's where it

  86. started before then the Holy Spirit came and and all that.

  87. But one of the best gifts God has given to

  88. us is to connect with Him, right, to connect with

  89. Him by prayer and through prayer. You know, I think

  90. about our those from the majority faith praying five times

  91. a day. I think about some friends in other religions

  92. who you know they praise, so what's the word fervently?

  93. And you know they were Yeah, religiously it goes to

  94. death ears right, to images of wood of stone. And

  95. yet for us we know our God hears us. We

  96. know he's alive and he loves us and he's good.

  97. Why do we someone take you for granted? Right, even

  98. Jesus gone in the flesh, right, he constantly connected with

  99. our Father in prayer. Right, if you read through the scriptures,

  100. you know on earth he was he was one hundred

  101. percent men, right, he had weaknesses just like us, and

  102. yet he showed us how to connect with the Father.

  103. He was constantly going away from the crowds, from the disciples,

  104. just to spend time with God the Father. So it

  105. really is a gift that we didn't earn, right, we didn't.

  106. We don't deserve to talk to God really, but he

  107. gave us this gift. I mean, I think about when

  108. Christ died and across that's where the fullness of being

  109. able to connect with God took place. Right, Yeah, yeah,

  110. you see there you're wondering what the picture is do

  111. you know what it is? The veil. Yeah, the veil

  112. in the temple is a huge, heavy, thick veil. And

  113. the moment Jesus died and across what happened tall not

  114. from the bottom, from the top, right from the top down,

  115. and so they knew it's not men didn't do it.

  116. I men can not there. You know, they tell you

  117. it would have been from the bottom. But this was

  118. ultimately a symbol of hey, there's no longer this barrier

  119. between men and God because at that time only the

  120. priest can enter into the Holy of Holies. No, yeah, yeah,

  121. Holy of Holies. Okay, it is between It's between the

  122. Holy Place and the Holy of Holies. The Holy of

  123. Holies is where God's presence is and only the high priest,

  124. not even any priests. Only the high priest can enter.

  125. But when this was torn, God is saying, hey, anyone

  126. can come to me right, and all of it are

  127. so blessed to be able to just come to the Father.

  128. We have direct access to God. You can read you

  129. can take down Mark chapter fifteen, verse thirty eight. It

  130. says it talks about the will being torn. In fact,

  131. Matthew twenty seven fifty one twenty seven, verse fifty one

  132. says the same thing, and Luke twenty three, verse forty

  133. five also speaks about that. Yeah, and you know it's

  134. the barrier has been removed between a holy God and

  135. humanity and men. Now all of us have direct access.

  136. Someone say, Amen, Amen, God is so good.

  137. Let's see John sixteen, verse twenty four.

  138. I put that verse down there, so she's just said, right,

  139. until now, you have not asked for anything in my name.

  140. You haven't asked anything my name asks, and you will

  141. receive and your joy will be complete. Amen, your joy

  142. will be complete. It's it's a reminder to us. Or

  143. sometimes we haven't we haven't really asked. What say, Maybe

  144. you haven't been desperate en now to like God, I

  145. need this, like I'm not gonna let you go until

  146. I get this answer. And we ask in Jesus name.

  147. There are things that we pray for. We know, we know,

  148. we know, I know that God wants this for us.

  149. If we truly believe that God is good and he

  150. loves us, we know that he wants us to be

  151. set free. He knows that we know right that he

  152. wants us to be healthy, to be strong, to be

  153. free from anything anything binding us, you know it maybe sickness,

  154. maybe anger, and anxiety and depression, all these things. We

  155. know God doesn't want this worse, and so when we're

  156. praying Jesus name, we know there is a line to

  157. his will. Of course he wants to come through for us, right,

  158. So that's the first point. It's really it's a gift.

  159. It's a gift. I mean, Philippins, you have that in

  160. your booklet Phlippines for over six or seven say it's

  161. be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication,

  162. with thanksgiving. Let your requests be known, made known to God.

  163. And the peace of God, the peace of God, which

  164. surpass us all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds

  165. through Christ Jesus. Amen, Amen, Amen. I hope we really

  166. cherish this gift, you know, and not take it for granted.

  167. I mean, whenever we are we are free, or we

  168. are driving, and I was thinking about this, when we're

  169. driving our kind and all that, what do we spend

  170. our time doing? Right? We sometimes you forget this gift.

  171. We can just connect, connect, plug in, plug in, yeah,

  172. plug in, plug into prayer. Okay, so let's go to

  173. point number two the integrity of prayer. Now, we need

  174. to be careful about just using the word I prayed

  175. about it when we make major decisions in life, right,

  176. I pray about it. Yeah, uh, pray about it. And

  177. I'm supposed to date this person. Pray about it, and yeah,

  178. i'mupposed to go there to study or migrade or you know,

  179. big big decisions. Pray about it and yeah, this is

  180. the person I should marry. If we really prayed about something,

  181. I think time will tell, right, the results will actually

  182. show did we really pray about it? Because there's power

  183. and prayer, right, so you'll be seen and it can't

  184. be like I pray about it and then down the road,

  185. you know things things are not working out. I mean,

  186. I know this. There's a bit of a sense diff topic,

  187. but I bring it out. Not not not from anyone here, Okay,

  188. from the past, all these stories from the past, but

  189. there has been people I know who you know, they

  190. say they're choosing a life partner, said, pray about it. It

  191. feels right, but then.

  192. Months down the lane doesn't work out out. Then you

  193. wonder did they really pray? Did they really hear from God?

  194. Another example, another sense this topic. You know, people living church,

  195. changing church. Some say they pray, feel the peace, time

  196. is up here, time to move, but again no man's

  197. down the road. Then you find that, hey, they're not

  198. even found in the church that they felt God was

  199. calling them to, or not found in church at all,

  200. which is even worse. And I mean I'm speaking my

  201. heart breaks for these people because some of the have

  202. been my closest friends, you know, people have journeyed with

  203. as well. And then for them to you know, at

  204. that time, I know I'm not feeling the peace, but

  205. they feel the peace.

  206. I mean, you can.

  207. Stop it, right They say they heard from God, Okay,

  208. but time tells. So when we realize now they're not

  209. route it or even if they are and not you know,

  210. serving God, and it's like, really, did you really pray

  211. about it or was it something else right? Another reason

  212. that you left. One final example I have, again from

  213. not from anyone here, from other people I know, something say,

  214. oh I prayed about this job or changing jobs, and

  215. you know, I know this is this is for me,

  216. and then within months they moved drop again or worse still,

  217. I thought it were still no longer found in church

  218. because the job has taken them away. I have to

  219. work every Sunday. Then you're like, oh, I don't know

  220. whether God really led you to this place, or even

  221. if we did, did you then make a stand right

  222. to still be found in God's house and to still serve?

  223. And so these are just some examples I thought of

  224. you away. We talkt about the integrity of prayer. Did

  225. we really let's not, let's not use it lightly? If

  226. he really did? Really did? If not, yeah, I feel Mila,

  227. just say it's just say it's your own, your own feelings,

  228. your own thoughts, your own logic. So was it really

  229. prayed through? Because I think God will never lead us

  230. to something that will take our time and our our

  231. efforts away and our tension, you know, away from his kingdom,

  232. away from his presence, away from his house, away from

  233. his work.

  234. He'll never do that.

  235. He always lead us to a place where we are

  236. dependent on him, more dependent on him in fact. So

  237. if if you know, you go, there's a one of

  238. my colleagues who entered, you know, into a new position

  239. and at that time felt as a blessing, you know,

  240. sort of a step up, and all kinds of challenges

  241. came and then Suddenly he's like, was it really? Was

  242. it really a blessing? But but to me, hey, theres

  243. all these challenges. It is needed because who you depend on? Now, Yeah,

  244. pray more, pray more, department God and discerning. I mean,

  245. the more time we spend with him, we can discern

  246. whether something is from from God or not. So yeah,

  247. let's not use misuse the phrase I've prayed about it, Okay, Church,

  248. Let's let's really really pray about it if it's a

  249. major decision. And if we didn't, then yeah, don't have

  250. to use that word. Okay. Yeah.

  251. The other thing about integrity I want.

  252. To point out is is let's try not to say,

  253. you know, people share a problem and lay out.

  254. Pray for you and then forget.

  255. Right, sure, forget on our lives so busy, so many

  256. things happen, you know, we have tons of things to

  257. pray for ourselves, so we might forget about it. And

  258. so that's why now I try to if there if

  259. someone shares a problem, I try very best to just say,

  260. can't pray for you now? Now just do it, Just

  261. do it. Pray Now that it's done, at least you

  262. prayed once. After that can continue praying for the person,

  263. but at least you started the prayer. Right, Let's not

  264. take prayer lightly. I pray for you.

  265. It's kind of like a yeah, God bless you.

  266. Sometime God bless you. I don't know what that means.

  267. Sometimes you just say it like it's just a Christian terminology,

  268. you know, like saying good luck. No, Okay, let's not no.

  269. And I know, I know it's scary too sometimes suddenly

  270. start praying for people. But trust me that the more

  271. you do it, the easier it gets. And not just

  272. that if it's your if it's your community. It's like

  273. you know, your your colleagues or your classmates or your family.

  274. Then after a while, right, they kind of expect it.

  275. They know when they share you something, yeah, you gotta

  276. pray for me, right, That's what just happened this week.

  277. I went to visit a former colleague who's going through

  278. a really rough time. And the family is from the

  279. Majority faith, and I was there just buying them because

  280. they're really struggling financially. So when they got the whole

  281. family lunch, you know, set talk with them and all that,

  282. and then as I was about to leave, you know,

  283. she gave me a heart to thank me, and then

  284. she asked, are you going to pray for me? Because

  285. she she knows it, really she knows, like that's what

  286. I will do before I leave, especially when they're in

  287. a crisis moment. So I prayed for prayed for her,

  288. prayed to mind Jesus for her. She broke down sobbing.

  289. But yeah, the more you do it, people just expected.

  290. And I was also encouraged. This other colleague of mine.

  291. They so there's one colleague who, Yeah, I've prayed for

  292. him in certain situations that he's been through. He also

  293. knows this. Once I remember, I said, there's nothing something

  294. I can really do for you except and then he

  295. completed my sentence pray right. So I did pray for him.

  296. But recently we were having a leadership I was eating

  297. with the leaders and then this person not believer, said,

  298. and she's going to say grace. And then this other COLLEIQUEO, yeah,

  299. he's also a believer. He's like, richeld, you want to

  300. say grace, you go hitler.

  301. So I didn't know later on it they told me

  302. later on.

  303. Whenever they go for meals, these two believers have been

  304. like saying grace. So the other guy is so every time.

  305. Now if they don't, he's like hey, and she goes

  306. say grace.

  307. He's about remind reminding them.

  308. But it's become a norm, you know, the previewers like, yeah,

  309. you give thanks, so yeah, just do it.

  310. Just pray, just pray for someone.

  311. After a while, it gets it gets easier, and you

  312. know they would they would be asked, they would be

  313. coming to you for prayer and they would be expecting it. Okay,

  314. come on, and we really believe in the power of

  315. prayer to begin with, to really do it, be both

  316. to practice it. You know, especially among those who don't

  317. yet know him. They may not have experienced the power

  318. of prayer. Or they pray, do they get answers? Maybe

  319. sometimes coincidence, I don't know. But for them to experience

  320. this God, here's this person, this friend, every time they pray,

  321. something happens. Don't you think they'll be curious? They will

  322. want to know it. Why this onnt need a prayers?

  323. And we can say it's not us, it's not about us, right,

  324. It's the God we worship. Amen, amen.

  325. Zo point three. This is where I've got to spend

  326. a bit more time.

  327. So we're gonna dive deeper into what it means, what

  328. it really means to be prayer powered. Like I said,

  329. it's not just the power of prayer, which we know.

  330. We know it's a it's a position, it's a belief.

  331. We know there is power and prayer. But what does

  332. it mean to be prayer powered as a church and

  333. as individuals? Okay, it is put there. It's a lived reality.

  334. It's it's to have our lives our church powered by

  335. prayer like this again, right, I hope this gave a

  336. good analogy. How do we tap into this being powered up?

  337. So prayer power number one or a however you want

  338. to note it down and put it as a prayer

  339. is not an event number one? Okay, Prayer power means

  340. that we don't just see it as an event. And

  341. sometimes yeah, I'm gonna touch a topic that maybe someone

  342. you talking about me, No, not talking about anyone. But

  343. this is an example. Prayer services pray or p R

  344. four y. We have four times a year combined prayer rallies.

  345. When we have it. If we just see it as

  346. an event, that's why we can choose not to show up. Right,

  347. it's just another another meeting. It's not it's not priority.

  348. It's not part of my schedule. It's just something there

  349. on the church calendar. But we if we really believe, right,

  350. and I mean people come together God, here's us. There is

  351. there is power in corporate prayer. Right If if there

  352. isn't right, we won't We won't have copporate prayer line.

  353. I won't just pray on your own. It's okay, just you.

  354. It between you and God.

  355. But she's a nice I own know, so that we

  356. might forget to pray. So maybe come four times a year,

  357. four times a year. No, no, no kidding. Okay, why did

  358. I put Matthew Chapter eighteen nineteen or twenty here?

  359. You want to turn with me?

  360. Matthew eighteen A probably a small Bible today, Okay, I

  361. can't read. Sayce again. I say to you that two

  362. of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask,

  363. it will be done for them by My Father in Heaven,

  364. two or all as long as got two two of

  365. you agree, And verse twenty says for where two or

  366. three are gathered together in my name, I am there

  367. in the midst of them.

  368. That is why we come together as a church.

  369. That is why we have pressed as why we do

  370. pray four times a year, the whole church coming together,

  371. and there God is amongst them, and there he hears us,

  372. and there when we ask in his name, it shall

  373. be done.

  374. We're just following his word a man.

  375. And when we come together with other believers, Really the

  376. main agenda is just looking in prayer. Don't you think

  377. when that happens, the heavens move, angels move on our behalf.

  378. I always remember this fictional book that I read as

  379. a teenager. I think when I've been teenager, probably not

  380. a kid by Frank Peretti. Anyone read Frank Parretti's books. No, okay,

  381. the book title he actually writes Christian thrillers. Those who

  382. like thriller, you can read this Present Darkness and the

  383. sequel is Piercing the Darkness. These two books I read

  384. is basically on spiritual warfare. Yeah, it's love because a

  385. lot of demons lives. Angels and demons. There's a movie

  386. are Angels and Demons. There's a book. There's also book

  387. or angurines. Even that huh Dan Brown, No, not that one,

  388. not Dan Brown. Uh. This is yeah Christian writer.

  389. Uh.

  390. And I remember reading it. But it really brought my

  391. awareness to the spiritual realm. I mean they're quite descriptive

  392. of the demons and all, but also the angels and

  393. and I mean the plot is there's there's this, it's

  394. a little town, you know, there's pasta there, and there's

  395. a lott of occultic activity in the town. And so

  396. it's the church then against the occult. And when the

  397. church prays, the angels get stronger. So there's always like

  398. better between the angels and the demons. And whenever the

  399. church praise, the angels start winning. When they stop praying,

  400. then the demons are winning. Of course, the pastors us

  401. under attack and all that spiritual attack. But yeah, so

  402. you like three llers, check out these books. This Present

  403. Darkness Piercing the Darkness nineteen eighty six was when it

  404. was written in nineteen eighty nine. The sequel, Yeah, no

  405. born yet. I know many of you know bonn yet,

  406. hy we were four years old at that time. Yeah

  407. so was four years old. But yeah, no already my

  408. teenage life, Gora, you're writing now looking for it. I

  409. so don't always a book ready. My parents probably gave

  410. it away. The first boat is this Present Darkness, Present Darkness? Yeah,

  411. I did a sequels piercing the darkness. But I think

  412. if we believe us we saw, if we saw prayer

  413. not as any event, but as waging war against the enemy,

  414. don't you think we'll do it more? All these things

  415. that were suffering now, oh that the world is going

  416. through is a lot of is the book or the enemy?

  417. But what are we doing where? I won't say toddling

  418. or thumbs. I know we're very busy were we have

  419. We are very busy. We have a lot of stuff

  420. going on in our lives. But really, if we were

  421. ready to wage war against the devil and his demons,

  422. his evil angels, fallen angels, I think we'll be at

  423. prayer meetings more.

  424. Because we come together and like you know, we're gonna

  425. bring you down.

  426. Stop this right now. Stop whatever work in my family,

  427. in the church, at my workplace, in my own body, stop,

  428. all these got to stop. We come together and we

  429. wish war against the enemy. You know, the devil and

  430. his demons are probably having a party out there in

  431. the world, I mean their followers. Maybe they are off

  432. for a one in their version of prayer, you know,

  433. communicating with the what underworld and what do you call it?

  434. With the spirits of darkness. But as believers, are we

  435. you know, I'm challenging myself and all over. See are

  436. we too busy or too lazy, or too preoccupied or

  437. too distracted to come together to really wage war together

  438. against the enemy. Yeah, if we want to see our dreams,

  439. our hosts, our vision for our lives, for our church,

  440. our family come through, or we really need to pray. Man.

  441. Oh I did put a verse out there here. Amen. Okay,

  442. So prayers not an event? Amen? Yeah, we got to

  443. do this together and of course in your own lives

  444. as well. Second point I have for you, prayer is

  445. a lifestyle. As a lifestyle first Thessalonians five, verse sixty,

  446. is that verse that is there in your book? No, okay?

  447. It says, rejoin us always if you can turn to

  448. the book with me.

  449. For Sassalonians chapter five, verse sixteen to eighteen, rejoice always

  450. pray without ceasing.

  451. And she just one verse, verse seventeen is pray without

  452. ceasing in.

  453. Everything, gift thanks for this is the will of God

  454. in Christ Jesus.

  455. For you, What is the will of.

  456. God for you? It's always like what God was your

  457. will for me?

  458. Answer?

  459. Rejoice, rejoice through every circumstance, good and bad.

  460. Rejoice, pray continually.

  461. This is the gift that God has given us. We

  462. can continually be communicating, connecting with Him, speaking with Him,

  463. and give thanks in everything again, not for everything. Don't

  464. thank God for the sickness, but even in the sickness,

  465. Thank God, I'm still alive. Thank God, I'm still standing.

  466. Thank God for your healing that has already begun and

  467. is done. And I receive it right gift. Thanks, And

  468. maybe this is the it's really this again. I think

  469. this is a secret to happy, fulfilled, abundant life as

  470. simple as that, right, rejoicing through our circumstances. If you're

  471. always rejoicing your circumstances are, then you like you just

  472. be happy, like right all the time. And continually being

  473. connected with God. I think that is so important. Like this,

  474. continually being connected, being thankful in everything. You know, I was,

  475. I was thinking about this yesterday. I went to visit

  476. doctor Jill. She's she's recovering well. Praise Scott for those

  477. who prayed along. Thank you we are Praise God for

  478. a successful procedures. Just in some pain, it's just part

  479. of the side effects after the procedure. In pain and

  480. the kidney, But yeah, keep her in prayer. She should

  481. be discharged today. So I was, I was just thinking

  482. on the drive phone from the car. Can you imagine

  483. the output from our lives right and our speech, in

  484. our speech, in our conduct, if we were continually plugged

  485. into prayer, plugged into prayer, do you think it will

  486. be different? The way we see things, the way we speak,

  487. would be very different if you're continually connected to our creator.

  488. Chair But yeah, played around with the words, were.

  489. Plugged into prayer continually, all the sea is connected to

  490. our creator, downloading from him. Just imagine the things we

  491. would be saying to our friends, our colleagues, you know,

  492. our family, our classmates, anyone. We mean the words of life,

  493. of truth, of encouragement, of comfort, of wisdom.

  494. But most times I realized we are the other way around.

  495. We spend all the time hearing from other people, all

  496. the complaints, all the troubles, all the.

  497. Problems, all the stress, all the worries, all the fear,

  498. all the wise, all the mons groans, and then we

  499. go to God, High God, is it you always get

  500. away around? Right? We hear from men more and then

  501. we go to God. But if we spend more time

  502. hearing from God because we're connecting with him continually in prayer,

  503. then we are once we'll we'll be bringing the truth

  504. life to everyone around us. Can we reverse it? All right?

  505. My encourage into us, let us reverse it the next

  506. time we are driving, you know, doing the dishes, doing

  507. the laundry, doing housewold, cooking. Let's take on what we're doing.

  508. Are we you you know? Do we spend that time

  509. worrying about the doctor's report? Are we thinking about the

  510. movie we just watched? Are we murmuring about the person

  511. that offended you yesterday a not you yesterday? Are you

  512. panicking about the deadline or assignment? Or are we during

  513. those times plugging in, plugging into prayer, connecting with God,

  514. connecting with our creator, just pouring our heart out to him, right,

  515. and not just that, but listening to his response, trying

  516. to hear his response, I hope is the letter if

  517. we catch ourselves, you know, I just plann it thoughts

  518. so that when we catch ourselves, just oh, mine is

  519. just so occupied with other things like, hey, h have

  520. this gift, I can plug in, plug in now, power up?

  521. I mean the other analogies, of course, our phones. Right,

  522. you've all heard that before. How many of you like

  523. leaving the house with the dead flat battery in your phone?

  524. No one does. We like to charge it up full, right,

  525. So let's plug in. Let's just be more conscious of

  526. how we spent every moment in our day. Amen. Amen.

  527. Prayer is not an option. It's not an option. It's

  528. got to be our lifestyle. And then you see things

  529. change around you. Amen, Next, next, one, third, one? See

  530. what is this prayer that powers us forward?

  531. Okay, so we talked about being plugging in.

  532. Similarly, if a car is battery powered or fuel powered, right,

  533. what do you need you need to move? Right?

  534. It's on fire, you need it right to get you

  535. to your destination.

  536. If feel empty or your unique cars, it's not charged,

  537. cannot move, cannot get there. So in X we believe

  538. the only way we're going to get to where God

  539. wants us to be, only way to get to our

  540. destination is with prayer. No other way, no other way.

  541. It's not the doing, it's not the you know, getting

  542. everything done, the hard work, all that is in vain,

  543. in vain without prayer. You ask passa canna passandra, and

  544. you know the leaders that have been around for a

  545. long time. You know, how did how did we get

  546. from three people in year two thousand to now eighteen

  547. church plants in thirteen locations in Malaysia to eleven plants

  548. in four continents around the globe today. Every church plan

  549. was prayed for. None of them were planted, like oh

  550. I just suka suka, want to go here, want go

  551. holiday here. It wasn't It was through prayer x KK.

  552. You were prayed for before we started, right, We started

  553. with about I think about ten of us, five couples

  554. just coming together to pray, just pray for the land,

  555. OKK for how we're gonna start for the people.

  556. We didn't know you then, but you.

  557. Were prayed for and now you're here. Hallelujah amen. So

  558. it's you know, every one of our churches and every

  559. nation that we go into as well every city, we

  560. don't do it without first connecting with God, hearing from

  561. Him and come meeting the planting of the church plan

  562. to God, because we know without him it is pointless,

  563. right if he doesn't go with us, are there's no point?

  564. You know? Moses said in Exodus chapter thirty three, verse fifteen.

  565. If your presence does not go with us, do not

  566. bring us up from here. Moses said that, and we

  567. say that God, if you're not going with us, we're

  568. not going to go there. Yeah. So really, I mean

  569. whenever we if we do wonder or question why planning it? Please,

  570. I'll tell you why. That's the answer because we've prayed

  571. about it. We really prayed about it, and we know

  572. God's presence is with us, and that's why we do it,

  573. and that's why we keep doing it even when it's difficult,

  574. even when times get hard, because we know God is

  575. with us. Amen. Amen, right, my last point. Oh see,

  576. I'm quite I'm early my last point, but maybe you

  577. spend a bit more time here. Pray reveals our dependency.

  578. Who we depend on is revealed by whether or not

  579. we pray, don't you think so? When we know we

  580. got this right, we got something, we are confident, we

  581. are comfortable. How often do we pray about a thing,

  582. because you don't need to. I already got this, I

  583. got this interview, I got this job deal, I got

  584. this exam paper.

  585. Easiest one.

  586. We pray less about it, right, right, like Shah gotta

  587. the hard. They want to pray more, pray for all okay,

  588. very good. Good good example is a good example talking

  589. about myself and maybe when I was when I was

  590. a student. But it can be very different when you're

  591. confident in something versus when you're not, when you're like,

  592. I don't know how I'm gonna take this meeting or

  593. this presentation. You prayed crazy, and the moment we stop praying,

  594. we stopped depending on God. We start depending on our

  595. own strength, our own capability, our own experience. Because when

  596. we pray, we ultimately telling God, God, I really need you.

  597. We don't pray, we're saying God, it's okay, I got this.

  598. I'm all right, I got this. And we can think

  599. of all those times love, when we were so desperate

  600. for God's intervention, right when our lives it's difficult, and

  601. our prayer life went up. I might have shed before,

  602. but you know, one of my toughest times was was

  603. during pandemic and then post pandemic, but it was with

  604. my my firstborn, you know, when I had no.

  605. Clue what was wrong and what I was doing, what

  606. I was doing wrong with.

  607. Her crying, you know, having met downs every single day,

  608. at least twice a day, probably more than that, but

  609. at least two hours each time, and the dependency on God.

  610. I was just like, Gosh, I can't do this. I'm

  611. not sleeping, I'm not I'm not in my right fraim

  612. with my mind. I'm up in the middle of the

  613. night because she's up in the middle of the night.

  614. She can't sleep. She's asked me to walk around outside

  615. on the road to come down. The baby is sleeping,

  616. and my son was born by that time, and she

  617. was three, and he's sleeping, but the just chair is up,

  618. and I remember just being so desperate, like God, I

  619. don't know, I don't know what to do anymore. Answer

  620. didn't come right away, but saw you've heard the story.

  621. You know, God led me to the right doctor, got

  622. the answer, and then the rest is history. It's still

  623. not always easy, but I think she's growing up really well. Yeah,

  624. gaining a lot of confidence, learning to to code, learning

  625. to handle things, and you know, I'm so encouraged. Okay,

  626. I have to share this, this testimony. I shed it

  627. at homes. Yeah, it Unison shed it about Shay who

  628. I told you before that she started like reading the

  629. Bible on her own, right, So every morning that's her routine.

  630. It's her routine. Now she wakes up, she she gets changed, brushes,

  631. her teeth, comes down, opens the Bible. Don't eat nothing,

  632. don't drink nothing. I just opened Bible straight way there.

  633. And the book she's on right now, I think she's

  634. just finished it. It's Leviticus because she wants to recover,

  635. to cover Genesis to revelation. Cannot skip because she's like

  636. that Regid So Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, and how many of

  637. you have read Leviticus could you get through it? Skips?

  638. I know it's a child, so I keep skip Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy.

  639. So there are days where she's crying there in the morning.

  640. I'm like, what this up? Because it's so long and

  641. I don't understand and it's so hard to read. I'm like,

  642. am I just keep the chapter? Like, just just read

  643. something else. When you jump straight to Samuel, Samuel and

  644. Kings are exciting there.

  645. Because you know all the kings and stories skip.

  646. To the Pardler like Genesis was quite genis, so it

  647. is quite exciting. And so it's like all the Bible

  648. stories like oh yeah, I heard this ex kids, you know.

  649. But now it's Leviticus and numbers and Deuteronomy, but no,

  650. she has to read it, so she'll cry like reading

  651. read the whole and and must finish the chapter? Can

  652. all stop it stopped me be doing it when it's

  653. a few pages long, right, I'm like, just put the

  654. bookmark there, stop, must finish, And she'd be crying there

  655. in the whole morning. And I'm like, I just I

  656. know her. So one day I was so tempted to

  657. just say, hey, supposed to be like happier and when

  658. you read the Bible, you know, like it's supposed to

  659. enjoy it life you're not. Then then like, what's the

  660. point that's straight away?

  661. Right?

  662. I felt Holy spirits speak to me like is it really?

  663. And I realized that she has a discipline that a

  664. lot of us don't.

  665. Even when you don't feel like reaally it don't understand

  666. the thing difficult to read?

  667. How we still reading it?

  668. I'm like, wow, Holy Spirit, yup. So I just zip

  669. my mouth and just let her cryd that it's okay

  670. us And then she's learned a discipline Until she's older,

  671. I pray it will still be like that. When it's

  672. like I don't know what this is, I don't feel

  673. like it I'll just do it. Yeah. See we learn

  674. from kids. Nothing to do at this point, I think,

  675. but I just suddenly thought of it. I was talking

  676. about share. Yeah. So she's everything God for her life, right. Yeah,

  677. God is shaping and molding her hat loujah. Yeah. So

  678. we we we don't want our prayer lives to only

  679. be active when we're going through tough times. Right done

  680. like put like no better, no power did any like? Okay,

  681. plug in, Let's just stay like that all the time.

  682. Always have light, always have life. We want to ensure

  683. that nothing gets us to our future, our destination, our purpose. Right,

  684. nothing gets us there. Accept our relationship with our Lord,

  685. with us seeking him, asking him for help, and the

  686. result is, of course God, God answering our prayers according

  687. to his will, not ours. Right, It's his will, So

  688. we always want we want the answers to be according

  689. to his will because ours we don't know any better.

  690. His ways are higher, his thoughts are higher. Man, And

  691. I don't want us to work so hard so to

  692. achieve something that we think is our goal in life

  693. and our purpose in life. But at the end of

  694. the life of this life, right go oops? Oh man,

  695. I missed the whole point. I missed what God had

  696. for me because I was, you know, finding my own way.

  697. I don't want any of us to ever get there.

  698. I want all of us to reach it. And I'm like, wow, God,

  699. this is what you had for me the whole time.

  700. You've been driving me for what you are the fuel

  701. because I've been connecting with you. Prayer has been the

  702. one that got me there, right, And I mean again,

  703. EX Church is an example. If X had gone down

  704. the path of just following what every other church does,

  705. other church growth, we wouldn't you know, we would have

  706. been building a mega church by now.

  707. We would have had a huge building, bought a building.

  708. And have a mega church. But there wasn't God's calling

  709. for us, and it was difficult, difficult to go the

  710. opposite direction from everyone else, not everyone now, but yeah,

  711. but some. But this was God's future for us, and

  712. you know we didn't know it then, so it was

  713. probably fought it then. What start small church now? Everywhere God?

  714. No, our musicians, no in our teachers, not.

  715. Everything, enow, but this is God's design for us and

  716. what he desired for EX Church, and there's no better

  717. place to be than this. How many of you feel

  718. like you're in no better place. Can I even know? Then,

  719. don't tell me, but yeah I do. I genuinely, genuinely do.

  720. And I said before, I'm so blessed to just be

  721. in this church, with your doing life, with your having

  722. met so many of you that I wouldn't have known

  723. if we hadn't planted here, all right, And and yeah,

  724. I think even for my own life, from the time

  725. I graduated to you know, now working twenty years in

  726. my company, right, I see people come, people go by

  727. the way. My boss is also living told me on

  728. Friday dropped the bomb, well not really a bomb, and

  729. I was expecting it. She was in her garden and

  730. she's like, has something to speak to you about? Then

  731. she's like, I think, you know, Like, yeah, I know,

  732. I was expecting it. At a moment my CEO left,

  733. I knew she was probably gonna go. So yeah, I'm

  734. gonna get another boss now. And uh, you know, people

  735. I thought I would have been working with for the

  736. next seven.

  737. Eight years, you know, are now moving on.

  738. But yet every milestone and every change, but the grace

  739. of God, it's the spirit, small voice that has kept

  740. me going. And I thank God. I just listened to him.

  741. It's so funny. I was asking me, why why's the

  742. bost leaving? She had God I got told her to

  743. leave her. They'm like, uh no, I don't know. And

  744. it's like then you still, yeah, are you? But I

  745. mean I don't want to be anywhere else that God

  746. has not and I'm sure all of us do. We

  747. don't be anywhere else where God doesn't want us to be. Yeah. Amen,

  748. So you know when you decide to study somewhere else,

  749. you know, have you prayed and ask God when you

  750. decide to move or my grade, have you asked what

  751. got things right? When we start a business going to

  752. something else? He got leading? When you pursue a relationship,

  753. young people, what's God in it? Please don't make the

  754. same mistakes that I made. Okay, connect connect, Connect with

  755. your creator? I say, is this the guy for me?

  756. And she asked before that because when as that time,

  757. we don't hear God ready, we want to hear our

  758. own voice in it? Right here? I won't hard ony

  759. guess like God say yes, but yeah, let's bring everything

  760. to God in prayer. Amen, everything to God in prayer,

  761. because when we are praying, thing got the point there

  762. praying people will always be in line and we were

  763. aligned to God's will. It's very hard if you're talking

  764. to God all the time, right, you can't really you

  765. can't talk to someone like if you're walking opposite direction, right,

  766. if you're walking with somebody you want no a direction,

  767. cannot talk really.

  768. I know now you've got mobile phones by I mean.

  769. Just this kind of conversation, but if you're constantly talking

  770. to God, you'd definitely be walking in his direction with him. Amen. Amen,

  771. you know I was, I was take a couple of

  772. thoughts to leave with you before I close, but I

  773. was thinking, you know, what is the evidence of a

  774. prayer powered person? What is the evidence? Can we see it?

  775. And when I thought about it, right, I'm actually quite

  776. convinced now that I can't tell if a person is

  777. a praying person or note now all of you like

  778. just get to talk to But I think I think

  779. you will be able to tell whether a person is

  780. a prayerful person by what everything we've be spoken about, right,

  781. So the results and the evidence should be there because

  782. how a person conducts themselves, how they respond to situations,

  783. how they cope in life circumstances. Because when you're not

  784. going to pray and connected with your creator right with God,

  785. then everything will be We won't be God like, will

  786. be God centered, Christ centered right. All our decisions, the

  787. way we think, the way we respond, it will all

  788. be more like, oh my God, right. We won't be

  789. just influenced by what others say or think, and it

  790. will be in line with God's character. So I think

  791. we will all be able to tell when you speak

  792. to someone and they pray, pray or not, can do

  793. one hundred and one things in church like be doing

  794. you know, so being and all that. But it's there prayer,

  795. we can do it. We can, we can. We know

  796. the form, We know the form. But in our day

  797. to day, in our speech and our conduct, is it obvious?

  798. Is there evidence that we are continually speaking to our

  799. to our Father in heaven. Amen? Yeah, I think I'll

  800. leave you with that. If our dependency is not on God,

  801. we don't pray our dependency it's not him, right, So

  802. if our dependency is not on Him, then it's on what.

  803. It's on our own whims and fancies, it's on our

  804. own preferences, it's on the world's values, or worse, it's

  805. on the lives of the enemy. No, we want our

  806. dependency to be on God. Yeah, and I'll close with

  807. with saying this prayer is not an event. My last

  808. life prayer is not an event. It's not for melody

  809. or every Sunday prayer time for melody. No, it's not

  810. a sentence we take onto our decisions. I pray about it,

  811. prayer in exchurch, and I pray in all our lives.

  812. It is the engine of all we do. It is

  813. the engine that powers us forward, gets us where we

  814. need to get to, helps us be what we need

  815. to be. Amen, let's close, come extreme can come up.

  816. Hallelu Yeah, thank you Jesus. And I wanted to just

  817. make a commitment to the Lord this morning. You know

  818. if if you heard this and you're like, yeah, God,

  819. I want I want my prayer life to be something else.

  820. I want to be continually plugged into You. I don't

  821. want to have moments where I'm out flat, no power,

  822. burnt out. I think we're continually plugging. It's hard to

  823. get burned out. Tired, yes, right, something its tired, discouraged, yes,

  824. but completely burnout. I don't think so. If you're continually

  825. plugged into the source, of life, of light, of love,

  826. of joy, of peace, continuous.

  827. No, all this.

  828. Will be so much more effective as believers and really

  829. living out who God wants us to be and and

  830. how he wants us to live.

  831. Yeah.

  832. So if you want to, if if that's you, you

  833. want to make the commingment to God, like God, help

  834. me to just connect with you more.

  835. Yeah.

  836. I think of something practical even this week you can

  837. do to just plug in.

  838. It's just a burst. Like I said, when you're doing

  839. things that don't really need to use brain activity and

  840. like driving, hanging out, laundry cookie, you know, doing the dishes,

  841. use those times, write those little moments. Yeah. We sometimes

  842. some of us don't maybe had that whole hour in

  843. the morning to like worship and spend time someone's doing

  844. someone's don't.

  845. But if we don't, then yeah, all those pockets in

  846. your day are you.

  847. Spending then every time charge I mean now, always in

  848. a car and we get a car, you plug your

  849. phone in and right I know I do that because

  850. always at night forget to charge there in the car,

  851. be charging it, Sam, when we go around, let's plug

  852. in everywhere we go whatever we are doing. When there's

  853. spocus of time. Let's plug in to the Holy Spirit,

  854. to our Father in Heaven through Christ Jesus. Hey man,

  855. that's you. You want to commit that to the Lord

  856. and say, God, I just want to plug in to

  857. you this week onwards. I want to be powered by prayer,

  858. not just believe in the power of prayer, but really

  859. be prayer powered. I want to get to my destination

  860. because I'm plugged into you.

  861. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more

  862. information on our church, please visit as church dot org.

  864. that this week is going to be a good week.

  865. I hit for you. God bless
