You're listening to a message to go from acts church.
-
We hope this message will light up your tea.
-
Let's get into the eighth one today, which is ownership
-
promoting hallelujah. So let's go with the heart behind it.
-
What's the heart behind it? You have your books with you? Ah,
-
all right, hopefully you still have it, you know, until
-
the end. Keep bringing it, okay, and write notes on it. Okay,
-
anyone lost it yet, don't tell me. Okay, go look
-
for it, okay. Anyway, heart behind it. The early church
-
was not just a gathering. It was a community. So
-
what is community. It's a combination of two words, right,
-
common unity. They had something in common, right, not what
-
is common, but what they had something in common. They
-
believed in the same things, right, and they were united.
-
Right.
-
How many of us here you think we are united?
-
Excotec commaning, we are united. I think to a certain
-
extent we are quite right. Like I come here, I
-
usually go to Excyberjaya, and I come here and I
-
start to speak about these things and we can relate.
-
There's you know, there's some common things and you don't
-
feel like what you're talking about.
-
You know, these guys was strange. You know what, what
-
topic is this?
-
But we all know we're using the same book, so
-
there's some kind of unity. But how much do we
-
agree with the same thing, like the like some of
-
the values we flashed out just now, for example, spirit field,
-
how many of us here really agree together? One is
-
agree in the mind, and then how many of us
-
here actually practice it together? Are we really truly united
-
in this way? Because there I'm sure we can see
-
some differences, right, And no condemnation here in christ right,
-
But it's good to observe that. It's good to be aware, like, hey,
-
there's differences in some office, especially when we see the
-
action of it. We can see it, and that's okay
-
because I think everyone's at a different place where this
-
whole thing is a journey, right or in a journey
-
towards Christ. I didn't start being a Christian straight away,
-
preaching here wearing a tie called buster one and this
-
and that. I didn't start that way. I started Christianity
-
as a kid. I was you know, my uncle brought
-
me to church. I was not a believer, definitely right.
-
I was bowing down to idols. I was the priest
-
in the house burning jowsticks to kudn't.
-
Yum all right.
-
Then I realized that kudnyam sorry the drink anyway, it's
-
a Chinese tea. So interesting, So I was doing that
-
kin that's kunyam is ganto gano. So I was doing
-
that and I found you know, I we ended up
-
eventually praised God.
-
You know, my whole family you know, came to Christ.
-
And I remember that very vividly, the kunyam picture first.
-
Ye.
-
I also remember the lion dance are coming and doing
-
the bow to the That was like interesting anyway. So
-
then I remember that time where I don't know which
-
pastor was it, but in Guantan there was this like
-
breaking of the idols and all the different things in
-
my house breaking, smashing, burning, and we were set free
-
from that hallelujah.
-
I mean it looks brutal, but.
-
I thank God because there was the moment we were
-
all set free from all these things. Uh and uh,
-
you know, we got baptized and things like that. So
-
there was a journey and all of you, all of
-
us here, we're on a journey as well.
-
And but.
-
It's it's good to think about that, right, like are
-
we truly united? And I pray and believe that we
-
are all walking towards that unity. We have one vision, right,
-
what's the vision again of the church?
-
That the earth will be filled with the glory, knowledge
-
of the glory of the Lord as the water.
-
Has covered to see. Oh, thank god, I can't remember.
-
It's been a while since we say it. Amen, Yeah,
-
you speak it oky. So community, they had something in common,
-
and they had unity. All right, let's see how united
-
they were. But let's go on with the the next one.
-
They shared a common faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
-
And I believe all of us here all right, are
-
also in the same faith.
-
We believe the Lord Jesus. We sang that song.
-
I believe in God, our Father, right in Christ, the
-
Son and the Holy Spirit. All right? Three and one.
-
Some of us are still struggling and go like, what
-
is that?
-
What is that?
-
How do I explain that to my friends? But it's okay,
-
don't be anxious about it. It is difficult to explain.
-
And it's okay because that's God, all right. Nobody cooked
-
it up, right, And and uh, you know, if humans
-
made that, they would admit it make sense. But to
-
us human minds, we still can't fully comprehend it. But
-
that's three in one father Son, Holy Spirit. Amen.
-
Yeahweh.
-
So we have the we have a common faith, we
-
have a common Lord, Amen, and a common aim.
-
We are going somewhere together.
-
And then, uh, no one treated the church as someone
-
else's responsibility. No one stood on the sidelines. They were
-
all in together. So I pray this is an encouragement
-
to all of us that we too will do the same,
-
that we will not treat the church, our beloved church,
-
as someone else's responsibility. It is our responsibility together, all right.
-
Some of us do a little bit more. Some of
-
us we do a little for now, but that's okay.
-
Then if you can take up more, tick up more,
-
then everybody can share the load.
-
Amen.
-
And then when new ones come, let's encourage them. Hey,
-
take up some as well. Let me pass you some
-
some responsibility right now. And it's okay. All right, don't
-
feel bad doing that. Don't feel bad doing that, but
-
be accomfortable about it, you know, say, tell your leaders,
-
I'm gonna get this.
-
I'm going to disciple this person.
-
Let's do that, amen, because we all can share a
-
load some more. And we can, and there's more churches
-
to be planted, all right, get ready for it. Then
-
this value is a call to that same spirit. Amen, okay,
-
and then the next light goes. Not a congregation of consumers,
-
all right, Not a congregation of consumers, but a family
-
of owners.
-
Wow.
-
We're not here just to consume to enjoy, all right,
-
but we are here to take part. We own this
-
and we take part. I had a recent conversation with
-
my children as well.
-
All right.
-
I think it's it's a young you know, young person
-
thing as well, challenge that they go through.
-
Good.
-
Good that I discovered this, you know, one of my
-
kids said. I asked, I just say, hey, what actually
-
what you're trying to do? Like why why are you
-
rushing sometimes to get home? You know sometimes it's a
-
bit masked with like I want to go home, you know,
-
so on a shower. You know, it sounds sounds responsible.
-
And uh, I said, why why are you rushing? But
-
then I know, but I know, right, you want to
-
you want to have your screen time.
-
I caught it. I caught them, you know you want.
-
To have your screen time, right because this is weekend
-
and you know this, I want to maximize my screen time.
-
Uh. And you know it came out from the old
-
mouth as well.
-
Yeah, you know, because you know weekdays, I don't get
-
so much of it, so I get then I want
-
to watch my thing. Then, you know, always the argument
-
with the siblings will be like he gets to watch his.
-
Thing, like I don't like I want to. Now, let
-
me choose that.
-
I go like, wait, wait, wait, wait, it's your goal
-
in life two to get that. Then I think, thank god,
-
you know quite honestly say yeah, you know, you.
-
Know I want to.
-
I want to make sure I get the entertainment. I
-
can't say why, see why good conversation? Why said, because
-
when you're an adult, you can't have this anymore. So
-
I so felt guilty at that time because I felt like,
-
did I give him the impression that adults can't get
-
entertainment anymore?
-
Which is true in some ways because I don't really
-
like to watch movies anymore. I don't go to the
-
cinema anymore.
-
You know, when I was a college student, I had
-
no TV, but I played computer anyway. And yeah, in
-
a way, I guess as adults we do have to
-
be more responsible. Well, you know, wash the dishes through
-
the laundry, you know, wash the poop whatever for me
-
dog poop.
-
I have to scoop dot poop every night.
-
Right, otherwise you will kill the grass and uh, and
-
the kids like to walk on the grass with the
-
you know, full of poop there and look at the
-
mulberry tree and but the fruit and so in some
-
things anyway, So yeah, then I said no, no, no, I said, no, no,
-
we do get entertainment.
-
We do get entertainment. That's it.
-
But you know, please don't don't make that your goal
-
in life, to get fully entertained. You know, entertainment should
-
be something you do after your responsibilities. Make sure you study,
-
finish your revision. You don't get showered, do the house chores.
-
All right, okay, you can get anything in between, but
-
don't make that your full goal in life. And know
-
it's a lie that adults don't have fun, all right.
-
And then so I decided, okay, I'm gonna try and
-
have more fun.
-
With my kids.
-
So they don't get the impression that adults don't get entertained,
-
and so they want to maximize it. I said, I said,
-
you know, if you do that, don't I mean, in
-
a way, there's some truth to that. You you're young,
-
you get more into But if you keep doing that,
-
then when you're an adult, it will stick with you,
-
is it won't change. You will become an adult who
-
seeks entertainment all the time as well.
-
So please don't do that. So I think made them
-
think for a while.
-
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I do see some changes.
-
In the house. Okay.
-
Anyway, right, so not just consumers, but family of owners,
-
not visitors passing by or passing through, but sons and daughters.
-
Everyone says, sons and daughters who take responsibility of their
-
own home. Quite funny, right, I just thought about my
-
own son, and yeah, sons and daughters. All right, So
-
do you all see yourselves as that? Do we see
-
ourselves as that? Sons and daughters of this house?
-
Yeah?
-
Yeah, I'm sure you've heard that before, but I think
-
it's something that we need to take ownership of. We
-
take ownership of even that that we are sons and
-
daughters of this house personally your sons and daughters of
-
Jesus of the Lord, amen. But we are also sons
-
and daughters of this house because it's the house that
-
I believe the Holy Spirit has led you to, and
-
you're part of this house, and so you are not
-
just visitors anymore. If you're new, maybe you're visiting, that's fine,
-
all right. Visitors are people who come once, twice, maybe
-
three times. That then enough ready, that's visitor done. And
-
then if you decided like I'm just going to keep coming,
-
then you want to take ownership of this house. And
-
you are now becoming a son and a daughter. You
-
see that, you see yourselves as that. Maybe some of
-
us are good. Hm, right, fifty to fifty, that's okay,
-
Still like you're in a journey, right, but don't take
-
so long. Don't take so long. You gotta realize that
-
I am a son and a daughter no matter how
-
old you are. All right, So you're like, no, I'm
-
you know, father, mother, grandmother, grandfather. How how am I
-
We're going to be a son again? But you know
-
you're still someone's son, right, or someone's daughter, no matter
-
how old.
-
Yeah, And how.
-
You treat your father or your mother right, because you're
-
the son. No other person can do that. The responsibility
-
that we have over our family, no matter how old
-
you know they become, Nobody else can take that because
-
it is the right and it is the responsibility of
-
a son.
-
And a daughter. And I want to tell you that
-
you are right.
-
If you've been here four times and more, you are
-
already walking into that position as a son and a
-
daughter of this house. And so ask ourselves that question,
-
what should I do as a son and a daughter?
-
What should I do in this house as a son
-
and a daughter? How should I look at the people
-
around me as a son and a daughter of this house?
-
Right? And then we are truly brothers and sisters. Amen?
-
Yeah, that changes a lot of things, all right, even
-
for myself when I realized that. All right, let's go
-
next one. The church grows when every part does its share,
-
and that only happens when everyone belongs, contributes, and takes
-
ownership together. This is in efficients four. All right, we'll
-
read that together later. Okay, let's go on the first
-
point here. Okay, the overview kind of mentions some of
-
these things already, all right, but here we go.
-
The church is community, not a crowd.
-
Okay, we're no longer a crowd just sitting there unknown, right?
-
Uh?
-
And uh, you know crowds are you know how many
-
of you you've been to concerts? You've been to concerts,
-
especially rock concerts. Yeah, no, how many of you were
-
there when switch Foot actually came to Malaysia? You know
-
switch Food and you actually no switch Foot, never mind
-
other concerts. I don't know it was Coplate ever here,
-
I think they came quite recently, right, how many of
-
you were in a complate concert do you want to admit?
-
How about how about.
-
Sheila Maja okay, Shela okay?
-
Anyway, I don't know it was Chinese concerts or the
-
Korean stuff anyway, if you've been to a concert, right,
-
no matter what concert, small concert, big concert, and we're
-
part of the crowd, right, we can shout anything we want.
-
Nobody cares. Nobody knows who did that, who said that?
-
All right?
-
And we can even like scold the artists on the stage,
-
all right.
-
Your lip sinking la right, cannot dance all right? Or whatever.
-
We can say all things as a crowd.
-
Nobody cares because there's no ownership of it, all right.
-
We paid money, so entertainers, right, So that's a crowd.
-
But again, you know, if we own it, we're community.
-
We are the ones running the concert, we're the ones
-
running the show. We're the ones running the house, and
-
so we there's more care for it right, there's more
-
care for it. We'll care about the system, We'll care
-
about the equipment, we care about the people coming, we
-
care about when someone shouts a vulgarity out there, like
-
a crowd, is that we're going to address. What's going on?
-
Are you okay? Like you know, are you part of
-
this church or what?
-
All right?
-
And then we start to you know, disciple the person
-
bring to the toilet for a while. Maybe I'm not
-
just kidding, say you need to appease it. You say that, okay?
-
Anyway? All right, So not a crowd.
-
People who share a common faith. Lord and Amy already
-
mentioned that. Okay, Uh and uh they are one. They
-
are one. We are one, we will we are united.
-
You know, when anything happens, when there is a leak
-
in the building, right for example, I don't know what
-
we pray never, but let's say something happens, rain, heavy rain,
-
and this place gets flooded leak. If we take ownership
-
of it, we will be here the moment we get
-
a text, you know, we text the homes, you know.
-
The building, there's some flood, all right, please help.
-
Then it's not just pasta than alone here trying to
-
you know, light's not working because you know when what
-
this kind of things happen. Now, all the things happen
-
when now you know, all right, it happens. It happened
-
to our office. I think one time, right, a few
-
a few times there, but this one time it was Sunday,
-
you know, and this text game is there. It's flooding
-
video showing us how bad it is. And you know,
-
if you're you know, if you're an owner in a sense,
-
you take ownership your son and daughter. You don't think
-
so much should I go be like what, let's go
-
my office is there. You know you'll be driving straight.
-
You don't tell your family. I got to go save
-
the office. I go save the building. You know, legacy
-
is flooded. We will be going there no matter what,
-
all right, But if we don't have ownership of it,
-
you'll be like, nah, manah, the pastors will do it,
-
those guys, you know, the leaders. True enough when as okay, right,
-
I won't blame anyone thinking like that because their mine
-
is they don't take ownership of it. You know, I
-
don't really belong fully here yet, you know, it's just
-
my fifth time here, you know, Okay, I think those guys,
-
the seniors have it in control, which is not wrong.
-
So right, So ownership makes you be there all right, Okay,
-
and you're part of the team, right, the word that team.
-
That's why the word team. You know, if you are
-
part of a football team, right, some of us say
-
we support some teams, right, Argentina whatever, Right, World Cup?
-
You feel emotional about it when something happens to the player,
-
no matter how much they say it's rigged, you feel
-
oh messy, you know's weird, right, because you feel like
-
you're part of the team. And that's why they say,
-
you know, in the crowd in the football, they say
-
the supporters are is the twelfth player, player, the tolp player.
-
The Malaysian team, you call it Malaya the tale of
-
the tiger is still part of the tiger, right.
-
Yeah.
-
And then I don't know how many of you follow
-
the football Malaysian football.
-
Malitia lost to Thailand sadly yesterday.
-
Yeah okay, anyway, uh so, yeah, because I love I
-
love to support the Malaysian team. They are like not
-
great like at this moment and it goes scandal and somewhere,
-
but I still like, okay, this is my my country's team.
-
I just support Lie, you know, can't be supporting Thailand,
-
all right, So anyway, okay, we'll ex check Mike can
-
do that. Okay, So anyway, uh and cup they call
-
nobody watches it, all right? Okay, So that's where the
-
Bible verse for this, the Bible verse for this, all right.
-
Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and
-
signs were done through the apostles.
-
Now all who believed were together.
-
And had all things in common, and sold their possessions
-
and goods and divided them among all as anyone.
-
Had need.
-
A few chapters down from here, they will say, you know,
-
they had no lack uh and uh, you know, they
-
they shared everything. They didn't see it as like this
-
is just mine, but this is ours. You know, you
-
can you can share what I have, you can take
-
what I have. You can have what I have because
-
we share this in common.
-
Right.
-
And I'm sure they were also very curtiers to each other.
-
Don't didn't just go and take people's salt and you
-
know stof and food, go through the fridge and eat
-
their food.
-
They would have talked about it. I'm sure, all right,
-
it was.
-
I'm sure they were not rude about it, but they
-
shared according to how someone needed.
-
And I am sure you know we do this here
-
as well.
-
We do that in next Cyberjaya, So I'm pretty sure
-
this happens here as well. You know, when we hear
-
someone in need, we will get the homes. Ay, let's
-
make a collection and help this brother or this sister. Recently,
-
just a few days ago, one of our families, his
-
grandma in the Philippines passed on. She was ninety nine
-
years old, almost hit one hundred, but didn't get to Okay,
-
so they all flew back, the whole family, you know,
-
four of them, two kids, flew back to Philippines for
-
the ceremony. And we were just about to just let
-
it be and you know, give tex texts what do
-
you call condolences and stuff like that. Good enough, we'll
-
pray for you and stuff like that. That that sall,
-
you know. We suddenly, you know, thought and brought up
-
the conversation a bit's let's help this guy. You know,
-
I think a whole family flying back. The ticket immediate tickets,
-
you know, won't be cheap, right, So then we said, okay,
-
let's let's as a home. Let's make a collection whatever
-
we can lie you know, we can't fully pay for
-
their tickets. I don't know, you know, but there are
-
some generous people right in the church, and they made
-
a collection and quickly try to pass it on to
-
them because we thought about them and they're part of
-
our family.
-
You know.
-
It doesn't happen anywhere else, doesn't happen everywhere, right, people
-
suddenly think about you and want to make a collection
-
and want to come and visit you and want to
-
bless you.
-
You know.
-
I also felt so much love from some of the
-
x KK people. You know, when my wife was in
-
the hospital, there was flowers from x KK people, you know, food,
-
one person came and had lunch with her doctor Jill
-
when she came out of the hospital, you know, and
-
from x KK as well. So then that's like, wow,
-
that's definitely unity. That's definitely ownership. Amen, So praise the
-
Lord going on.
-
Owners not renters, a home, not a hotel. All right.
-
This is something from pastors, uh they This was a
-
revelation to me as well.
-
When I first came to ex church, I was a.
-
Church hopper, called church hopper, all right, So proud of
-
it with our gang of church hoppers. You know they
-
call nomadic with the nomads. With the nomads, right, it's
-
a lie, Okay, So whole group of them. We were
-
in a university and just like you know unity, right,
-
we're in every church. So anyway, finally came to ex Church.
-
When I was in all these other churches, I didn't
-
hear these messages. But when I came to ex Church
-
at the time it was one location. Pastor Kenneth pass
-
Andra talked about it, and they said, it is not
-
a hotel.
-
Right.
-
In hotel, you will not put up your picture. An
-
hotel you keep all your stuff in your bag. Right,
-
maybe some of you hang for a few days there,
-
all right. An hotel you won't unpack the what is
-
you won't unpack. When I heard that, I was so convicted,
-
you know, and I'm glad someone said it and said, you.
-
Know, there is no hotel. This is a house, the
-
house of God, not a hotel of God, all right.
-
And we say homes, not hotel homes. We have belonging there.
-
We belonged to a home. We belong to a house,
-
my family's house. And then we always say reunion where
-
we do combine reunion because Chinese knew it right. Everybody
-
must be there.
-
Everybody must be there, no matter how angry you are
-
with that uncle, be there all right and receive his
-
uncle anyway. Then forgiveness flow straight, all right, thank you uncle,
-
I forgive you, Please.
-
Forgive me all right? All right?
-
I loved I love the Harry Raya methods already go hey,
-
but didn't they shake hands?
-
All right?
-
Because family come right, So reunion we must be there
-
to get no matter what. That's why see you at
-
ex church conference, see you at the combined service.
-
All right.
-
We are going to try and be there anyway, no
-
matter how bad the jam is going to be, no
-
matter what, right, we're gonna make a way that because
-
this is family, is reunion time, and we wanna we
-
want to just be there and see the other church plans.
-
I know we don't get deep a lot with many people.
-
We can't, and that's why we grow small, all right,
-
But let's value that that we are a big family,
-
all right. So if you haven't, if you haven't unpacked yet,
-
I want to encourage you do so unpacked, make this
-
your house. But we all know that we don't simply
-
make our house and then throw everything anywhere we like.
-
All right, there's still there's still the parents. We need
-
to honor them. We need to talk to the leaders
-
and say, how can I where can I put my clothes?
-
Uh?
-
Where can I serve you? All right? How can I help?
-
Can I just bring the kick anytime? I like that? No? No, no,
-
you know, the the kick that is not fully big one,
-
don't bring.
-
There's one time, you know, I can't remember which service
-
was that, you know, caicks and then someone so nice
-
and generous bring kick, while then the kick someone in
-
I've got stomach ached badly, you know, diarrhea. We realize
-
how that man the insight not cookla can didn't big
-
properly raw eggs in there? So anyway, okay, this is
-
a house. They're still order.
-
But we unpacked.
-
We unpacked, We don't, you know, like see you know,
-
look and see that's the that's the word, right we
-
see how fust right back still by my side. Okay,
-
after a while, unpacked, take one of the rooms in
-
a sense, all right, be a son and a daughter. Amen,
-
all right, let's look, Uh, owners built, the owner of
-
a house can build, can renovate?
-
Tennant?
-
Cannot? You cannot suddenly I want to add a room here.
-
You're you're just renting, right, and the tennis won't care
-
the toilet spoilers all like he's not going to fix it.
-
He'll call the owner right and say, hey, the tallet
-
spoiler hour. How the owner cannot say you fix that,
-
but you can work with the renter. Now you can say,
-
can you you know, be around when I call the
-
the the contractor come and fix right. Owners only look
-
into these things, okay, uh right in the house sons
-
and daughters, hotel visitors don't unpack and then partner. Right.
-
That's why we use the word partner, not members, not
-
church members, because us sometimes that the word member. You know,
-
when we go to a club or where I went
-
to that Quota communing club, I don't have membership there,
-
but people sometimes invite me there. I go there, I
-
feel like not everyone there. I'm sure anyone here you're
-
part of Qutta coming club. You're all very nice, but
-
the people there really act like.
-
I paid so much for this.
-
Okay, I'm going to have my ah can first recognition,
-
so to ask a guy open for me, right, But
-
membership makes you feel like a sense of entitlement. Right,
-
I have a right for this, and I want to
-
do something here, and if I don't get it, I'm
-
going to get upset.
-
Right.
-
So, but partners, we take ownership. Okay, we're kinder, we
-
take we do our part. Of course, we're sharing, we
-
have shared responsibility. You know, this is something that we
-
teach our students in Victory Academy.
-
Right, you have a right as a student. You have
-
a right to enjoy.
-
The facilities, to have a room, to have a good
-
education from the teachers. And if the teachers simply scoll you,
-
you have a right to voice it out, tell the
-
management something happened. You know, abuse is taking place. You
-
have a right, but you also have a responsibility. You
-
have a responsibility as a student to study well, to
-
take care of the cleanliness, to you know, be respectful,
-
to teach us. So it's both it's rights and responsibilities
-
a man, So the same thing here for all of
-
us who take ownership. You have a right and you
-
have a responsibility. This belongs to us. We belong here
-
the church. You know, we can take ownership of the
-
church and we belong isn't it wonderful to belong somewhere.
-
Right, you can say I belong to act church.
-
They love me, they care for me when I'm in
-
the hospital, they visit me when I'm sick, they call
-
me up, they send stuff to me. That's that's belonging,
-
all right. You'll belong somewhere and people know who you are,
-
they know your name.
-
Right.
-
Ah, So we belong and we belong to Christ Jesus
-
most of all. And I pray and hope, you know,
-
we all hope that we go up there. God will say,
-
I know you come into you know my faith, you
-
know my house, my faithful servant, all right. Or the
-
scary part is let's say, who are you?
-
You don't belong here? Wha.
-
That's a scary thing, right for all of us. All right,
-
So please hold on to Jesus and you will be there.
-
We will all be there together in Christ Jesus.
-
All right. Let's look at this scripture rather speaking the
-
truth in love.
-
We are to grow up in every way into Him
-
who is the Head, into Christ, from whom the whole body,
-
joined and held together by every joint with which it
-
is equipped. When each part is working properly, makes the
-
body grow so that it builds itself up in love
-
efficients for fifteen sixteen.
-
I want to highlight the middle verse. Here.
-
The whole body joined together, held together by every joint
-
with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly,
-
makes a body grow. Everyone say grow grow, We want
-
to grow, all right. We're all still growing.
-
Okay, whether we are a child or adult or a
-
more senior person, we are still growing. We can continue
-
to grow, all right. We never stop.
-
You know, God loves us and we're still here because
-
he's still training us.
-
All right, we're still disciples. Hallelujah. All right.
-
Final, No, I think there's two more, but number three.
-
Let's go number three. Ownership must be promoted, not assumed. Okay,
-
what does this mean? Not everyone thinks this way naturally,
-
so we must constantly promote it. So this is why
-
we also speaking about it because many times we we
-
are quite self centered people. Are we look at ourselves,
-
We look at how I can get my gain first.
-
That's usual human behavior, because you know, we want to
-
defend ourselves first. Even the airplane, you know, we go
-
up there and say, please, you know, rescue yourself first
-
before rescuing someone else, which is true, all right, So
-
that is a very natural instinct to take care of
-
yourself first. But you know God's way is to then
-
for us to look out for others. And that's why
-
we need to promote ownership. We need to talk about
-
it a little bit more. We need to teach but
-
what it means to take ownership of your relationship with
-
Jesus as a son and daughter as in the church,
-
right in your own family, in your business. I think
-
we all understand this as well. You know, when we work,
-
we do business. The workers that we hire, if they
-
just are hiring, they act like one, all right, they
-
talk like one. They will gossip behind your back, and
-
they will you know, backbite you. But a son and
-
a daughter in your business, right, you can see they
-
take ownership of it, and you want to pass the
-
business to them like you don't mind, like this guy
-
can take over one day even if they don't have
-
my surname. Right, ownership, we need to promote it. We
-
cannot blame people for the lack of ownership if we
-
never invited them to get involved or we keep doing
-
everything for them. So I think this is speaking to
-
the leaders as well, those who are serving. Who are
-
you know, who've been around sometimes for we want to
-
do everything ourselves too much, and because we don't trust
-
you say like, oh this guy, I don't know where
-
you can trust or not, so let me just take
-
it and do it myself. But we need to learn
-
to train people, to teach them how to take it
-
up and then to and trust them, equip them, empower them. Amen, Uh,
-
invite them.
-
It's always work. Life's right.
-
We say, you want to sign up, you know for
-
extreme as ex kids, we need a teacher, all right. Uh,
-
it's never easy to do that, and they need to
-
train them, right, you need to uh you know, share
-
with them. It takes time, but we need to do
-
it otherwise we can't blame them. So I think I
-
think one of the stories that pass the Kenneth Chad was, uh,
-
you know, for as our children, our own children, don't
-
blame them for not being able to wash the dishes,
-
to do laundry, you know, because when they were younger,
-
we didn't allow it. We're like, they're not doing a
-
good job, can't hang the shirt properly, so all right,
-
we just also, you know, we had a helper in
-
the house, all right. I made a helper in the
-
house one time and she did everything, wash everything, you know,
-
wipe everything. And then every time I told I looked
-
at the kids, hey hey, help with the houseworkerer, You'll
-
be like, it's nothing to do, all.
-
Done, all done.
-
And then it made me so upset, you know, And
-
finally came the contract ended up all right, I I okay,
-
I didn't hire the helper myself. Okay, it was our parents,
-
you know, my parents in law LA want to be helpful, right,
-
so I hired someone to come and help us at
-
the time because you know, Jill was pregnant.
-
And things like that. So okay, I understand it made sense.
-
It was good, it was helpful at the time, but
-
I realized it made me it was.
-
So super lazy. Okay. I used to stop doing housework
-
for a while. I want to do so't done really, so.
-
I think, like, good work up, go and do some exercise,
-
all right, go and do other things. But then when
-
the time came for the contract to uh this person
-
to and.
-
I said, let's not hire another one.
-
I had to speak to my parents and say no, no,
-
no more, no more, no more. I want the kids
-
to do some housework and make sure there's some housework
-
to do all right, and so it was good.
-
We tried that out.
-
And finally I can say, help do the laundry, and yes,
-
there's a pile of laundry for him to do.
-
And then they started to do.
-
I used was joining along and dude, show example, say
-
this is how you flick the thing. Make sure is
-
straight before you hang it. Da da da da hang
-
it this way. I have very specific ways to make
-
sure because I don't want iron litter.
-
You flick it straight only the iron litter.
-
Next moment I left them alone, all crumpled and everything
-
hanging like that, I was like fuming.
-
I say like, come, come, come, how can you do this?
-
What quality is?
-
After that, I got reminded, I go like, if you
-
keep going like that, the flir is not gonna do
-
anything really because you keep criticizing the thing and it's
-
so not good and everything. How is he gonna learn?
-
Let him practice, Let them practice. So I just close
-
one eye and just let it be ready. Just just
-
just hang however, just hang all right, and they will learn.
-
They will realize, okay, it is a better way to
-
hang and stuff. And I mean you can gently still
-
teach and say, like you know, when you hang it and.
-
You freck it.
-
It can be straight, you know, so stuff like that,
-
and so I allowed it a bit and let them
-
do and good. Now a bit more, you know, responsibility. Hallelujah,
-
Praise good.
-
Yeah.
-
So this is something that we need to allow our
-
kids to to do. They make mistakes and they learn,
-
but they take ownership. Amen, Praise God. Involve them. So
-
same thing here, all right, play music a bit wrong
-
here there, right, don't let's not be so upside about it, right,
-
some mistakes. After that we debrieflin say, oh, you know,
-
maybe need to take a lesson. All right, Okay, let's
-
go on. Okay, this is just a story. You know,
-
Puss the Kennet was sharing about Japan. You someonelways know
-
this in Japan. Why, you know, when we watched the
-
World Cup and we watch Japan playing football matches or whatever, Right,
-
these guys will stay on and clean up the stadium,
-
even for the opposite, for the opposition, right, Why because
-
it's innate in them. They've been trained that way since school.
-
Right in school, everybody cleans up. There's no cleaner to help,
-
and they all do wipe down and clean up their
-
own scenes. Young all right, and then they'll they'll thank
-
each other for it, and somehow it translates into all
-
the other everywhere else they go all right, And I
-
heard one time we sit meanma or Laos also was
-
inspired by Japan. They also started cleaning up stadiums for
-
that one time. I think for that one time. Okay, yeah, inspiring. Okay. Finally,
-
everyone is a partner, not just a member. Right, we
-
do not outsource church life or stand on the sidelines.
-
We take ownership and responsibility together to make the church
-
great and everyone has a part to play. That is
-
that is the ex church we want to see. You know,
-
many churches I heard about it are in America, maybe
-
in other countries as well.
-
So they hire musicians to play for worship.
-
Maybe there's a lag or whatever, but they hire and
-
they pay them to play.
-
All right.
-
I don't know how much they're part of the church,
-
but there's a lot of these things going on and
-
it sounds good and it makes the church look good
-
and sound greater because you know, professionals and stuff. But
-
then will they take ownership of the equipment?
-
Uh?
-
And I can believe that they will say like there's uh,
-
there's no, there's no amplifier here, can you buy one?
-
Please? Fast?
-
So it becomes that kind of a system. Right, But
-
that's why we don't want to do things like that.
-
Right.
-
I also heard in Botswana one time, you know the
-
Botswana church people. They say when they started church and
-
they started praying for people for free, it was radical
-
because there some of these churches charge.
-
You for prayer. When you get prayed for, you need
-
to pay.
-
Amazing, Okay, So uh then that's that's that's not healthy.
-
There's not healthy.
-
There's no ownership there, right, And that's why some of
-
these things we do because we are owners with sons
-
and daughters and that's why we uh we we do
-
it anyway, amen, everyone has a part to play, okay.
-
And finally I want to encourage all of us that
-
make it work. And uh, you know, as you see
-
something in the church, you see a problem in the church,
-
you see a lack in a church. Though, let's not
-
just say hey, why don't have this? Why why is
-
this like that? Why is there emptyiness there?
-
All right?
-
Why is this person? Oh no, no, this person? You know,
-
where's the worship right away? Where's the bass guitar? You know, guitarist?
-
Right? And if you play bass, we sign up.
-
We take ownership, we make it work, and we make
-
things great in the church.
-
As a son and a daughter. Amen.
