We hope this message will light up your day.

So today we're going to explore about praise generate things,

which is one of our core value. So at the

time of praise and worship earlier, you look at how

the Extreme Team praise and worship, They're trying to encourage

us to generate a praise to God.

We give our best clap to God. We give our

best cheer to God.

And if you're in EX for long, you often hear

the chapter say and say, come on, guys, let's level

up our praise.

And you're wondering, like, haven't I clapped enough?

But that is our core value, you see, that is

who we are, that's our DNA. We want to generate praise.

We want to praise God. We're in good times in

bad times. God deserves our praise. So when we look

at the twelve values, you begin to understand why we

do what we do, how we make decisions, and it

often it reflects the non compromise in our life. Last week,

if you're in church, the one of our core value

that I believe the speaker would have shared will be

unity goded and I believe that when it comes to

unity gathered, one of the non compromise that we need

to keep as a church, as a believer in Acts

is do not gossip blood because gossip breaks unity. We're

called to preach the Gospel. We are not called to

preach gossip. Right, So when we begin to reflect on

our core value, it also speaks about the non compromises

in our life. And core values are essentially the field

that keeps us going. So all these twelve plus one

core values is derived from the Book of X We

all know this from Acts chapter two Versus one to

forty seven, but kind of encourage us to say that

if we're going to learn from the first Church in

a Book of Acts, it is good because the blueprint

of the first Church is there. So these are the

twelve plus one call value in orange. We would have

ranted since June, and today we're going to do praise generating.

In the next couple of weeks we're going to do

community evaluated growth resulting, and the plus factor which is

generosity branded. So just a very quick recap for all

of you. Now this morning, I would like to start

off with a question of reflection. What changes can I

notice in myself during this Call value series.

So it's probably for us to.

Reflect on because the world, God is very clear that

we should not just be hearers of the Word, but

we do but be do us after word. So for

the church to con you to live in the potential

that God has for us, for the community and in

the church to continue to grow, living by and applying

our core values are important. Now, these core values we

all know, it's not man made, is derived from scripture

and it's biblical. So it is it is about aligning

to scripture, leaving the scripture and allow the power of

the Scripture to flow through our life.

God's worth is living.

God's worth is powerful, and I believe that when the

Holy Spirit lives in us, when we apply the Word

of God, we're beginning to see transformation not just in

our life, but transformation in our situation as well.

So the first.

Sorry, not the first call value, but this will be

the core value that we will look at today.

Is called praise generating.

All right, And we're going to take the scripture from

Acts chapter two Versus forty six to forty seven. If

you're there, say yes, fantastic. Some we are still on

the way, But it's fine, amen, okay. In verse forty

six is say it's so, continuing daily with one accord

in the temple and breaking break from house to house.

They ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,

praising God and having favor with all the people. And

the Lord added to the church daily those who were

being saved.

Now, who are this group of people?

We know that in Acts chapter two, when the Holy

Spirit came upon the disciples, Peter preached one of his

most amazing public sermons, the first public sermon by Peter,

I preach about Christ. And we know that the people

ask Peter what can we do to be safe? And

then Peter preached about the message of repentance. About three

thousand were added to the church, and the church continued

to grow, and the first Church was essentially born in

the Book of Acts. And when we look at their

way of life, Scripture says that they were in the

temple in one court, they broke break, which speaks about communion,

and they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,

praising God. So it tells us that the heartbeat of

the church, the early church is also about praising God,

that praising God is a lifestyle. A praise should be

a lifestyle. And what is praise, right, Praise is the

intentional expression of honor, admiration, thanksgiving, and celebration toward God

in respond to who he is and not just what

he can do. Right, So praise is something positive. Praise

is your esteeming God. You're ascribing to him honor. It's

something that is genuine, something that is expressing out of.

Our experience with God.

The best praise often comes from our experience with God.

We don't praise God our of hate knowledge, because if

we praise God our hate knowledge, we are just doing

a textbook praise. But if you praise God out of

that encounter, you praise God out of that heart of authenticity, genuineness.

To me, that is true praise. Now give me an example.

Maybe we have encountered before about receiving praise, right, how

many of you you receive praise before? It's okay, Now

it's a time not to be humble a bit. Yeah,

I think you you would have received praise before. Ah,

we welcome genuine praise. How do you fear you receive

praise that are like you know, it's not genuine and

just by the way, hey, good job, broke good job.

It's like by the way of motion, by the way

of routine. And sometimes in as much as we feel

that yeah, it's a praise, but we don't feel the

heart to it, genuine praise often can be very heart felt.

You praise out of your heart. You don't praise out

of your hate. So when we come to God, when

we say that God, you are good, it comes from

a posture of worship. It comes from a posture where

we have experienced him. It comes from a posture where

you have genuine relationship with God. So it's not about

going into our prayer time repetitively saying words that we

say it but we don't really mint it. So praise

generating is about praising God because we really mint it,

Praising God because we experience his goodness, Praising God knowing

that despite the circumstances that we are in, it may

not be favorable for us now, but we still choose

to praise God because our circumstance doesn't define His goodness,

his nature, his goodness, his faithfulness is still the same

regardless of our situation, and praise must be generated from

our lives.

It must be.

It cannot be just on a Sunday. It must be

from a Monday Saturday. You know, walk with God. We

should continue to praise God. So why generating priest? You know,

I grew up in an estate Oi palm estate estate

where it's isolated and we run by generator power. How

many of you have staying in houses where it run

by generator power? Yeah, all right, we have people here.

So I remember was growing up the worker. We need

to reset the generator. Usually it's towards the evening you

reset the generator. So when you reset, there's no power

for a while. Then when the power come back, you

can hear the generator generating power. So impastor ascribe this

word praise generating.

Imagine with me? Is this right? As Christians we generate

priests right? Just like how.

In my asset house back then we needed a generator

to generate power. We need fuel. Without feel, the generator

won't work and therefore there's no power. Likewise, the feel

for us as a Christian to praise God to me

will be the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit to me,

it is a spirit of praise because if we go

by our own flesh at times.

It's difficult to praise, isn't it.

But by the Spirit He will often give us that

unction to praise God.

So it is a personal choice to praise good.

Maybe's offs from a Monday to Saturday last week, we

had an awesome time and we receive our breakthrough, we

receive our testimony. Maybe it's hours we didn't pray but

unexpectedly got showed up and you know, revealed to us

something and bless us with something. And today our praise

is it's very strong, very good because we experienced God.

Maybe it's some of us from a Monday to Saturday

last week, things didn't really go too well, a Suddain

expectation that we have on certain things. For below our expectation,

we are still waiting for God. Maybe someone said something

that wasn't pleasing to our ears last week and we

are carrying with us wounded spirit, or we're carrying with

a sudden burden. But when it comes to praising God

this morning, it is a choice. No one can force

us to praise God. It must come out of that choice.

It must come out of that personal conviction, It must

come out of that personal commitment. Praise should be the

antem of our faith. For every complaint we have, I

believe there's ten more things that we can praise God for.

So our focus shouldn't be what is not going too

well for us. Our focus should be the goodness of God.

Psalm one hundred and fifty is the last chapter of

the Book of Thumbs, and we will read six verses here.

It all starts with praise. What's one say is praise

the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary, Praise Him in

his mighty filmment. Praise Him for his mighty acts. Praise

him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the

sound of trumpet. Praise him with the lute and heart.

Praise him with the timbrel and dance. Praise him with

string instruments and flutes. Praise him with loud symbols, Praise

him with clashing symbols. Let everything that has breath praise

the Lord.

Praise the Lord.

I reve always here we have breath, all right, So

if you have breath, you're qualifying to praise God.

Be couse.

Curia says, Let everything that has breath praise a lot.

Because we are created to worship God. We are created

to praise Him. We are all God's finest creation. Right now,

I sense God's love is a pond. Every one of

you just allows his love to come into your life.

Affirms you that you're a child of God. You have

a God who will pave the way for you. God

is not far. God is always near to those who

will call upon his name. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving.

And I say, even right now, whoas in the next

one minute, begin to reflect on your journey with God,

begin to reflect on your life. Is there anything you

can give thanks to God for this morning? Now, if

you have your notebook, just write it down. What are

you thankful to God for this morning? What are you

thanking fool to God for? Can just write it down

and in every thanksgiving you can translate it to praise.

Thank you for the gift of life. Today, I praise

you for you are the Prince of life. Thank you

that I'm able to come to church this morning. And

I praise you for you are my faithful provider. It

provided me a transportation to come. Thank you for the

health that I have today that I can walk to church.

I thank you that you're my healer. You are my

giver of life. You see when you begin to put

on a posture of thanksgiving, thanksgiving, Eve will put you

then in the place of praising God. Sometimes we miss

the fingerprints of God in our life because we haven't

been praising God enough. And we haven't been praising God enough.

It's because we haven't been thankful to God enough. Enter

into his gates with thanksgiving and then into his cords

with praise. I know it's difficult to praise God when

we feel like we are in the prison. What our

prison we are in? And later we're gonna learn from

Paul and Silas how they praise God. So let everything

that has breath, Let everything that has breath.

Let everything that has breath. Amen. He deserves our praise.

He deserves praise.

So in Luke nineteen, chapter thirty seven to forty, this

is a story of Jesus writing on the donkey, and

we're gonna look at the scripture here in verse thirty seven. Then,

as he was now drawing near the descent of the

mound of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began

to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for

all the mighty works they had seen, saying blessed is

the King who comes in the name of the Lord,

Peace in heaven and glory in the highest And some

of the Pharisees called to him from the crowds, Teacher,

rebuke your disciples. Now catch this, what's what is very important.

But he answered and said to them, I tell tell

you that if these should keep silent, the stones would

immediately cry out. So you have two crowds here, the

one the crowd who follows Jesus, and another crowd is

called the pharisees. These are the religious teachers that Jesus

called them to be hypocrite. They know the law, but

they don't practice the law, and they were just stopping.

They want to stop the crowd from praising Jesus. And

it's interesting, Jesus is that if they were to keep silent,

the stone would immediately cry out. In simple terms, when

I look at it, there's a very simple reflection.

If ronson don't praise God. There's no pillar here.

Okay, you see the rocks outside, they will praise God. Hey,

but you and I are more precious than the rocks.

So let everything that has breath.

Praise the Lord.

So praise changes our focus. Praise turn our focus from

circumstances to Christ. There are too many cars in Malaysia,

too many who will in't care in the Klang Valley, Wow, Bymi,

if you hear you have caught in a gem situation

where you're rushing from a meeting to another meeting.

When you're going to rush for prayer service. Then it rains.

When it rains, the flood water will suddenly come. Then

the gem will be extremely long. Right, those of us

are living in a flesh like me, we will tend

to complain, say Lord, why, but you know.

A posture of praise? Is this right? Lord? I may

not enjoy the jam. I thank you. I have a

vehicle to drive on, but I may not like the.

Jam like thankful that the car is sheltering me from

the rain. Maybe not to Ham is not the first

choice of some of your place to study here.

I don't know. We always joke this.

You know, in any campuses in Neli, when you look

at the education brochure, they will put KLCC there next

to the campus, implying that kl is very near to

the campus, And when students arrive they look around, where

is the KLCC. I don't know places like Neili where

I pastor the church and not. It's very isolated. And

then when you arrive, there's the shopping center, there's the cinema,

and then you begin to put on a posture where

I expected not to be here. But you know what,

the spirit of Thanksgiving will do. Yeah, at least I

have an education. Those of us in the marketplace, maybe

we were not seen for the next level of promotion

in your beginning to tell yourself like waw, I've been

here in this company for so long, Why why they

didn't consider me? You know what the Thanksgiving posture will do.

I still have a job. I still have a job.

Maybe for parents, you know, kids are difficult to manage

when they're very young, and we're going to complain like, okay, God,

why did you you know bless me with kids? Maybe

a love will remind you of as a Steven, didn't

you dedicate your boy like a few weeks ago?

And the spirit of Thanksgiving will be.

Like, wow, it's a gift from God, because not everyone

who wants to have.

A kid can have a kid. Thanks Giving.

Will lead us to a place of praise where instead

of focusing on how bad our situation is, we should

focus on how good God is. That's how we need

to generate that praise. You generate generate genuary. Our praise

should not be determined by our mood and feeling. You

remember the song one way, maybe the younger one don't

remember one way. You're the only one that I one way.

You're the only one that I Okay, Now, what's the bridge?

Right? You are the way, the truth, and the life

I live by and for you. Right.

So it's very familiar scripture from Corinthians. For we all

walk by faith and not by sight. So when we

praise God, we should praise by faith, meaning it's not

always about feelings. Because if praise is about feelings, we

won't see examples in scriptures because the characters in scriptures

showed us the regardless of how they feel, they praise God.

I may wake up on the wrong side of the

bait this morning, not feeling it in a true fashion

of lingo of young people, I'm not feeling the white.

Therefore I don't feel like praising God. No, if we

say that we want to praise God by faith. That's

why we have wonderful extremes here to help us know.

As they generate praise. As they move, we also want

to move. If they lift up their voys, we also

want to lift up our voice to generate that praise.

Because I tell you, when praise leads you to that

posture of thanksgiving and you begin to focus on God,

circumstances that you're going to right now seems small compare

to the greatness of God. So Paul and Silence was

found in the prison. Why would they drop into the prison.

The context is this, when they were preaching Jesus, a

young girl who had a spirit of divination came that

was just harassing them. Lad, oh, these people are the

servants of God. Listen to them. But Paul and Silas

knew that there's something wrong with this girl. Now, who

is this girl? This girl is used by her master

to predict future divination. So the master will earn a profit, right,

just it's no different from times these days. People will

go as for a number people will go as for

just different things.

Right.

So when the spirit of divination was cast out, the

master saw that there's no more opportunity to profit from this.

So they began to complain and they begin to say

that you know these people, they came to this town

preaching a message that is different from what the Romans

would usually be be doing. So they were accused they

would drop into a prison. In nect chapter sixteen, if

you can your Bible, you can turn to it. In

verse twenty five, it saysier but at midnight, Paul and

Silas were praising and singing hymns to God, and the

prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake,

so that the foundation of the prison were shaken, and

immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were loose.

Let's be honest with ourselves. If we were to be

found in a physical prison, would we have the strength

like Paul and Silas to praise God? But Scriptures has

been very clear by giving us an example in All

and Silence number one, they suffered injustice. They shouldn't be

thrown into prison, but yet they were thrown dead. Maybe

some of us we are going through a season where

we also suffered a form of injustice, maybe a form

of betrayal, maybe a form of just having difficult time

with relationships around us. It's very painful. It's very painful.

I can tell you one of the reasons why sometimes

we find it difficult to praise God. It's not our

situation of the external. Sometimes it could be because of people,

and it could be people in church, could be Christians

that is outside. And we be gonna put on thoughts

like lod I'm hurting because so and so was careless

in their words. So and so shouldn't have say this,

So and so shouldn't have done this, this, and then

I mean, we still love God, right, we still come to.

Church, just that we carry with us a wounded spirit.

And a wounded spirit often will close that spirit of praise.

But when we put on a posture of praise, when

we begin to praise God, he allows for the healing

to come into our heart. So back to Paul and Silas.

They had a different song in prison, all right, I imagine

what song would they sing in prison?

Right?

And they sang so loud that the scripture says that

the other prisoners were listening to them.

I don't know.

Maybe they're saying, my chains are gone, I'll be said free.

I don't know what song they're saying, How great is

our God? I don't know, but the scripture says that

they sang so tell us us that even in prison,

we can still sing. The world is waiting for your praise.

The world is waiting for your song. In every season,

God can produce a song. Heture says that He has

taken me out from the Mirie Clay, places my feet

upon the rock, and that he has given me a

new song.

What are songs for? If God gives you songs have

been for? What to sing? Right? Right? You go to Carol, Okay,

what do you do to check? Have food? We sing?

All right?

When God gives you that song, you sing praises back

to him? Right you saying I was singing praises to

your name. Hold on, praises to your name.

Hold on. The door is still close.

You know, the healings they haven't come, the provision haven't come.

But I was thinking I was still seeing praises to

your name, for your name is great and greatly to

be praised. So it goes back to relationship with God,

knowing that he is the holder of our future. And

I look at Joseph. Joseph was found in prison as well.

He was thrown in a pit, suffer injustice, accused for

things that he didn't do, put into prison. I would

think that Joseph would also have that spirit of praise

in him. So praise help to overcome first our emotions.

Praise puts our focus of God back at the center.

Psal thirty four versus one. The three says, I will

bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually

be in my mouth. Oh, magnify the.

Lord with me.

God is already greater. So it doesn't mean that the

more you praise God, the greater he will be. God

is already great, just that your praise will make your

awareness of His greatness better.

Sometimes people say.

That I can feel God, God is far away from me.

I'm the season of wilderness very familiar, and I go

through that as well. The question is I should start

with praise, because the more I praise, the more closer

I get to God. The more I praise God, the

more I can hear from Him. Now, praise is a weapon.

You probably will have read about King Josephath when nations

who are mighty and stronger than King Joseph came together

oneting to conquer the land. In Second Chronicles, chapter twenty,

verse twenty one, he says he and when he had

consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing

to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness.

And as they went out before the army were saying,

praise the Lord for his mercy and yours forever.

Now.

To give you a context, there are there's an army

coming to your nation, one thing to fight you, and

the kings only say we don't have to fight.

Line up, musicians, this is what you will do. You

should praise God.

You should praise the holiness of God, so it gives

us an insight there we should praise even when we

do not feel like praising. Meaning sometimes battles in our

life will cause us not to praise God because we

are being overwhelmed. And to those of you who are

feeling overwhelmed right now by your circumstances, I won't let

you know that it is part of life. It is

part of life. It's okay to go through the valley

of the shadow of death. It's okay that while the

tone is still in your flesh, God hasn't removed it.

The pain is still there. It is okay this upon

and parcel of life. We all at one stage will

go through pain. We all at one stage will go

to sorrow. We all at one stage, we'll go to

this appointment. We all will go through in what alcohol life.

But in it and true it all, God will always

be by your side. God will always be with you.

So Hypercook tells us that though the victory may not

blossom yet, I will still rejoice in the Lord. Oh lastly,

before I go, praise, it's not just something that comes

out from our mouth. It should come up from our life.

I've seen people were in church that praise God, but

I'll say church, that's our life aligned to our praise.

In the Book of James, it does say that the

same mouth that praise God shouldn't be the same mouth

that recede bad words or curse. Okay, Ultimately, praise express

this faith. Now, Giving express our faith. Coming to church

expresses our faith. Praying expresses our faith. But I want

to say that praise also expresses our faith. Therefore, by

Him that is continually offered the sacrifice of praise to God,

sacrifice of praise. So why don't we stand as we close?

Are you ready to generate praise in your life? Are

you ready to be like Paul and Silas to just

sing to God in a season where God may seem

far in a season where it's difficult, in a season

where maybe it's really good for you, then you should

generate even more praise in a season where you feel

like you're walking on sunshine, in a season where everything

is just so aligned and working out well for you.

Do you know that in good times people can also

not praise God because it's too good for them.

They forgot God.

There's no dependency on God, right, So when in good times,

remind ourselves, Hey, God still deserves our praise. In bad times,

we still deserves our praise because praise will always open

the door for a breakthrough.
