-
Or because I'm not holding my microphone, you think I'm not talking praise Blood,
-
I said, Praise the Lord, hallelujah. Amen. And so we
-
thank God for this beautiful day that he has blessed us with. Amen.
-
Today I'm going to share with you, as part of a spiritual emphasis a
-
man's journey, we are going to be learning about Pentecost, Pentecost. Who
-
has heard about the name Pentecost before anywhere? Who has heard the name Pentecost
-
before? Amen? Some of you only know Pentecost because it's a name of
-
a church, you know, the Church of Pentecost. Amen. But today,
-
by the grace of God, we are going to know what the biblical
-
description of Pentecost is and how Pentecost benefits as believers and as children of God.
-
Amen. And so want to take a foundation scripture from Acts chapter one,
-
verse four to eight. Acts at chapter one, verse four to eight.
-
If you have something to write with, please write it down. And
-
the Bible says that. And being assembled together with them, he commanded them
-
not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father,
-
which he said, you have heard from me verse five. You for
-
Ji baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now. Therefore, when
-
they had come together They asked him, saying, Lord, will you a
-
time restore the kingdom of Israel? And he said to them, it is
-
not for you to know the times or the seasons which the Father has put
-
in his own authority. Vest A says that, but you shall receive power
-
after the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses of
-
me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, to the ends of the
-
earth a man. And so this scripture talks about a dialogue between the Lord
-
Jesus Christ and his disciples before Jesus ascended into heaven. Amen. How many
-
of you know that Jesus died for you. How many of you know that
-
after Jesus was buried, he rose up again. How many of you know
-
that when he rose up again, he went to see his disciples. Amen.
-
And so when Jesus rose up again, he didn't ascend to Heaven straight
-
away. He stayed with his He didn't know those for forty days. I
-
bet many of you didn't know that Jesus stayed his disciples for forty days.
-
And during the forty days that he was with his disciples, he spoke to
-
them about the Kingdom of God. Jesus spoke to them about things that pertains
-
to the kingdom. Jesus revealed treats of the kingdom to them. And when
-
the forty days was up that Jesus had to ascend to Heaven to his father
-
and your father and my father, they left Jerusalem and walked to the Mount
-
of Olives. The Mount of Olives is near Jerusalem. It's a seven hour
-
walk from Jerusalem. So they went. Jesus went with all of them to
-
the Mount of Olives. And the Bible says that before he was taken up,
-
he said to them, don't depart from Jerusalem. Stay in Jerusalem until
-
the promise of the Father, which I have spoken to you about, comes
-
to you. Amen. And the promise of the Father that Jesus was speaking
-
about was the Holy Spirit. Can somebody say the Holy Spirit? Can you
-
say again the Holy Spirit? Say to yourself, the Holy Spirit is the
-
promise of the Father to me. Amen. So if you don't know that,
-
now you know. The Holy Spirit is a gift. The Holy Spirit
-
is the promise of God for you and I that. And so fast forward.
-
After Jesus ascended into Heaven, his disciples were wandering. Oh, they
-
were looking up, our Lord is gone. And just when they looked around,
-
they saw two men who are angels standing among them. And the men
-
said to them, the Christ you see going up, he will come again
-
in the same manner. Amen. And so Jesus is coming again, Oh,
-
I said, Jesus is coming again. You see those who are not
-
ready for Jesus is coming there as Soma just did shoe. I said,
-
Jesus is coming again. Amen. And so after that they left and went
-
back to Jerusalem. And in Jerusalem they tarried, they stayed, they prayed,
-
they had fellowship. They were together. They were of one accord until
-
the gift and the promise of the Father came upon them. Amen. The
-
significance of the day is that on that day was Pentecost, the festival of
-
the celebration of the harvest. It was Pentecost, Amen. And this year
-
Pentecost fell last twenty eighth May twenty twenty three. And true fact for you,
-
Pentecost always falls on a Sunday every year, because it was that day
-
God sent his Holy Spirit to us. Amen. And so Jesus sent the
-
promise of the Father to us, who is the Holy Spirit. Amen.
-
And so today we want to know what Pentecost is about and why Pentecost is
-
important to us as believers. Amen, Because up until now I believe many
-
people only thought Pentecost was the name of a church. But today you will
-
get to know something else about Pentecost. And so from the scripture we read
-
and asks one for to aid, there are a few things that are there
-
for us. They were assembled together, All the people were assembled together.
-
They came together, they were of one mind, they were one spirit.
-
Amen. Please tell your neighbor, let's be of one mind. Please tell
-
your neighbor, let's be of one spirit. Amen. Please tell your neighbor,
-
let's be of one accord. Amen. Because everything that preceded the day
-
of Pentecos was preparation for a revival. How many of you know what a
-
revival is? Who has heard about a revival? Amen? What happened on
-
the day of Penticos was a revival because God poured his spirit out upon mere
-
men and women and they became extraordinary. Amen. And so these teachings I'm
-
teaching you is to prepare you for a revival that is coming to the youth
-
church. Amen. And when that revival comes, your life will never be
-
the same again. Your life will never ever be the same again. The
-
revival will affect your life for your whole generation, and it will affect the
-
generation that comes after you also, Amen. And so please pay attention so
-
that you know what to expect. Amen. And so first they were together,
-
they were of one accord. Secondly, Jesus commanded his disciples and they
-
obeyed. They didn't go back to Galilee. They stayed in Jerusalem. They
-
tarried in Jerusalem, and a lot of guests. There were a lot of
-
guests that came to Jerusalem. And because of that, God did an amazing
-
thing by sending the Holy Spirit to his disciples. Amen. And so the
-
promise of the Father came during Pentecost, Amen. And the Holy Spirit was
-
giving so that the disciples can become witnesses of Jesus Christ. Go to the
-
court of law and you are being tried. It is in your interest to
-
have a good witness, because if you have a witness who is not good
-
to you, you can end up in jail. Amen. The essence of
-
the Holy Spirit coming was to empower the disciples so that they could speak to
-
other people about Jesus Christ. And so I'll show you shortly what happened when
-
the Holy Spirit came. But first let's get some facts about particles. So
-
Pentecost was the celebration of the beginning of the early weeks of harvest. There
-
were two types of harvest in a year. In those days, the early
-
harvest came during the months of May and June. The final harvest came in
-
the fall. So Pentecost was the celebration of the beginning of the early wheat
-
harvest, which meant that Pentecost always fell sometime during the middle of the month
-
of May or sometimes in early June. Amen, how many of you know
-
that June is the beginning of the sixth month of the year, is the
-
middle month. So we finished half of the month. This is the border
-
to the next half. And as my fancy school uses, a lot can
-
happen in last minute, Amen, So look forward to a lot happening in
-
last minute. Amen. And so in the Jewish custom, there were several
-
festivals that people, the Jewish people celebrated. One of them was Passover.
-
Who has said about Passover? Passover? So Passover was a festival that they
-
used to celebrate, and I believe they still celebrate Passover and so according to
-
the Old Testament, they would celebrate the festival of fast fruits fast fruits.
-
So say, for instance, if you plant wheat and it's time for harvest,
-
and you harvest the fast back of wheat, that is your fast fruit.
-
And according to the law or according to the Bible, your fast fruit
-
is not for you to make bangkuein eat. Your fast fruit is to give
-
to God. So what they will do they would bake bread with the fast
-
fruit of their wheat, and they will present it to the high priest,
-
and the high priest will lift up the bread to God and thank God for
-
the habit that He has giving to his truth. Amen. And so very
-
soon I'll teach you on tides and offering, so that you understand there is
-
a place in offerings called fast fruits. So when we get to that point,
-
please remember this thing I'm telling you now. Amen. And so during
-
the time, the high priest will present it the Lord as an offering,
-
as their fruit. And by that it means that now they can harvest everything
-
else and consume it. Amen. And so there are three important things about
-
Penticost, which is Pentecost was a pilgrim festival. Pentecost Penticost, people will
-
leave one location and then journey to Jerusalem. So remember that Pentecost is a
-
pilgrim festival, so it means people leave various locations and go on a pilgrimage
-
to Jerusalem. Amen. So this meant that according to the Jewish law,
-
that all adult male would come from wherever they are living to Jerusalem and personally
-
be in attendance during this celebration. So there is no zoom during the celebration.
-
There is no Google Meet during this celebration. There is no WhatsApp video
-
call during the celebration, there is no Skype call during this. You have
-
to be present physically. We have to see flesh and blood standing there physically.
-
Amen. The second point was that during Pentecost it was declared a holiday,
-
so then no one would work, so you have people just leisurely going
-
for walks, celebrating the festival, just enjoying themselves. And also thirdly,
-
there were certain celebrations and sacrifices and offerings which were prescribed in the law for
-
the day of Pentecost. So, like I said before, on Pentecost,
-
the high priest would take two loaves of bread and offer them to the Lord
-
the wheat bread was made from newly harvested grain. It was made from newly
-
harvested wheat, and so in on Pentecost in the time of the Apostles was
-
a great and grand celebration. Just imagine what the types of celebrations that are
-
usually done in our local vicinities. There's one day court Chalioti, who had
-
said of Taloti, do you see how people come from everywhere? And the
-
whole streets of Usu are full of people. So try and imagine that.
-
So in Israel they would come from all over to celebrate this feast of wheat
-
with their brethren. Amen. And so let's look at why Pentecost is important
-
or significant to us as children of God. Because to the Muslims, Penticost
-
doesn't mean anything to them. They couldn't care about Pentecost. But for you
-
and I, we have to care about Penticost. So let's go to Act
-
chapter two. Acts Chapter two, there's one going and the Bible says that
-
when the day of Pentecost had fully come, remember, Jesus instructed his disciples
-
to go to Jerusalem and stay there. How many of you remember that?
-
And so the disciples actually went there. There were one hundred and twenty disciples
-
who went and waited for the promise of the Father. And so when the
-
day of Pentacles had fully come, they were all in one accord in one
-
place. Can you please tell your neighbor one accord. Please say it again,
-
one accord. Amen. It means they agreed to do the same thing
-
at the same time, to be in the same place. Amen. Hobada
-
come, If Habada myself are walking, our destination is here. We are
-
in one accord because we have the same vision. We have the same destination.
-
Habada, go back, go this way. If we are going this
-
way and I decide to lag behind, we might have the same vision.
-
But we are not properly singed. Now go this way. Now he's going
-
this way and I'm also going this way. It means we are out of
-
sync. We are not of one accord. How abad O thinks, come
-
and sit down. We are not in sync in any way. And so
-
the disciples were in one accord. So when they went to the Upper Room,
-
they were there because they chose to be there. They came to the
-
church meeting because they wanted the promise of the Father. They were not there
-
because they were forced to be there. They were not there because somebody gave
-
someone twinta garn as it needs to be there. They were not there because
-
somebody promised somebody to come. There is banko. You know there are some
-
people when you promise them food, no matter where the party is, they
-
will show up. So long as they hear food, they will be there.
-
They were there in one accord because they had the same mind, they
-
had the same spirit, they had the same will towards the same vision.
-
Amen. And so they were all in one accord, these two. And
-
suddenly there came a sound from heaven as a Russian mighty wind, and it
-
failed the house where they were sitting. So because of one accord, God
-
send the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit came. And when the Holy
-
Spirit came, it didn't come quietly. There was a mighty Russian wind that
-
failed the house to announce his presence. Next verse, then they appeared to
-
them divided tongues as of fire, and one sat on each of them.
-
So when the Holy Spirit Spirit appeared in the spirit, there was tongues of
-
fire, clothes of tongues of fire on the head of everybody, all the
-
one twenty of them. Everybody had it as a sign that they had received
-
the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Next verse, and they were all filled
-
with the Holy Spirit. Please ask your neighbor, what are you filled with?
-
Please let them give you an answer. Sammer failed with Coca cola,
-
Sammer filled with bancou Amen. The Bible says that they were all filled.
-
So when the Holy Spirit came, there was clothing tongues of fire on all
-
their heads as a sign that the promise of the Father had arrived. Let's
-
go back to the scripture. And they began to speak with other tongues as
-
the Holy Spirit gave them utterance. The sign that they had received the unfailing
-
of the Holy Spirit was that they began to speak in tongues. And so
-
if brother Matthew only spoke Houser, now he's speaking Italian, he's speaking Latin.
-
Somebody is speaking French. Because it is the Holy Spirit who gave them
-
utterance. Whose defount men from every nation under heaven. Because of the feast
-
of Pentecost, people had come from every nation of the earth. How many
-
of you know the number of nations in the earth right now on earth,
-
in the world, how many nations we have geography students, geography students?
-
Did I hear ten geography students? How many nations do we have? Five?
-
Somebody verified, so that he's not giving us wrong information. It's true.
-
How many I has something here? One? Nine six? Somebody said,
-
maybe they've created a new nation. You never know, So let's assume
-
one ninety five. So it means people from one ninety five countries had come
-
to Jerusalem during the feast of Pentecost Amen next verse. And when the sound
-
or kid who remembers the sound out of case, the mighty Russian went sound
-
the sound of revival. When the sound or kid, the multitude came together,
-
and they were confused because everyone heard them speak in his own language.
-
They heard the people of God speaking in their own language. There were one
-
hundred and ninety six or so languages being spoken. Next verse, and they
-
were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, Luke, not these
-
men, who are they not people from Galilee who speak Galileans? How come
-
they are speaking our language? Next verse? And how is it that we
-
hear each of our own language in which we were born? And so the
-
effects of the revival that came as a result of the presence of the Holy
-
Spirit. The promise of the Father to us is that he poured out himself
-
on men, and they began to speak in the Holy Ghost. And when
-
they began to speak in the Holy Ghost, they began to speak as He
-
gave them utterance. Amen, let's look at the next verse. And so
-
these are the names of all the places that people came from. Next verse,
-
next verse. And we hear them speaking in our own tongues, the
-
wonderful works of God. And so they were speaking in tongues. But as
-
far as the people were concerned, they were speaking in their own language,
-
and so they could understand. Amen, can we get Is there anyone here
-
we speak Spanish? Anybody? Oh to nepale espanol its speak Spanish? Oh?
-
Okay, shepherd, shepherd, Emerald? Come who speaks French? Here?
-
Anybody? Please? We are not talking about the mapel one. We
-
want the proper French because I'm going to ask you a question. If you
-
can't say, the means you don't understand French. Francois who speaks French?
-
Anybody? Nobody speaks French? He it means you don't travel? Do you
-
travel? Any Does anyone speak French here, I need a French speaker who
-
can speak French? Anybody? Anyone who can? Okay? You if you
-
understand French? Come? Can anybody understand French? Who can speak Arabic?
-
Is there any Arabic speaking Christian? Here? Oh? Nobody? Portuguese?
-
Where's Paris? It's Paris in change? Paris? Am I? She's not
-
in Change? Okay? Who can speak Latin Italian? Anybody? Oh?
-
So? It means that first service people they travel more than you, because
-
when I mentioned they all came to line up. They all came to line
-
up. Yes, okay, So who can speak? Come? Anybody who
-
can speak goad? If you can speak guy, you're sitting means you're lying.
-
God has seen you? Who can speak God? Can you speak on?
-
Sometimes? You have a gun name, but I don't know the language?
-
Are usual? Come? M who can speak fancy? Fancy? Who
-
can speak Fanty? Oh? I need a fancy speaking person? Please come?
-
Who can speak away? Which one can you speak? You can speak
-
out? Okay? Please form one line here for me? Who can speak
-
Daghatti's house? I who can speak house? Anybody? Okay? If you
-
can speak any Ghanaian language, please come okay, how about librarian English.
-
You can speak Liberian English. Okay, I need I need an American American?
-
Come, yes, come, yes, okay, you are here.
-
Come stand right here. You see you're not coming? Are you coming?
-
Amen? If you can't speak any language apart from English, come, I've
-
not said three? Who can speak three? What language? Ted speak?
-
Dutch? My guy standing right here, he can speak Dutch. What language
-
you can need? Speak away? Stand right here? He will speak out
-
alone? And you speak Avay? Yes? Who can speaking one? Anybody?
-
No? What? He can speak insima? Well then I'm the only
-
one who can speak insima, fra any other language? So we have Spanish.
-
What language can you speak? You can speak Spanish too. Okay,
-
you can speak another language. She can speak German. So we have Spanish,
-
German, we have American, we have Anglo, we have God,
-
we have Fancy, we have Dutch, we have anyway. I need two
-
more piging? Who can speak Jamaican Patua? What y're saying? Where me
-
bread and day? Where are they who can speak amen? So the Bible
-
says that when where are my shepherds shepherd's please stand shepherd youth, churched shepherds
-
what can you speak, darling and shepherds, Please, shepherds come, if
-
I's come, we have to dramatize this one very well. Shepherds come and
-
stand here, h stand right here. No, today I'll not speaking French.
-
And so the Bible says that the shepherds or the apostles or the disciples
-
of Jesus Christ hundred and t waiting on God. And suddenly there was a
-
mighty Russian win. Some of you are not paying attention. I said,
-
there was a mighty Russian wind that ended where they were the upper room,
-
and the Holy Ghost fell on them, and they were failed, and there
-
were tongues of clothing, fire tongues on their head, and they began to
-
speak in an unknown tongue. They began to speak in the language of the
-
Holy Spirit, as the Lord gave them utterance. So shepherds three to one.
-
God, increase the volume, because the people in Jerusalem have to hear
-
you. So they were praying, they were praying, they were praying,
-
they were praying, they were praying, they were praying. They were praying.
-
They were praying because the Holy Ghost had come. They were praying because
-
the Holy Ghost had come. They were praying because the Holy Ghost had come.
-
They were praying because of the whole Now they were praying because the Holy
-
Ghost have come. And now as our brethren who have come from one ninety
-
six countries were walking on the streets mining their own business. Then our sister
-
from Liberria could hear somebody speaking librarian. Our sister from Germany could hear somebody
-
speaking German. Our sister from America could hear somebody speaking American language. Our
-
brother from the fann my nine players could hear somebody speaking now my nine language.
-
Our sister from the seaside could hear somebody speaking the seaside. Gone assist
-
from the other seaside, the fancy land could also hear. Our brother from
-
dutch Land could also hear somebody speaking Dutch. Our brother from the Adamana side
-
could also hear his language. And they were amazed. They were amazed because
-
they could hear their language. Amen, God bless you. Today they didn't
-
crank cray. Wow. If we leave them, there will be another revival
-
here, Amen, God bless you. So they could hear let's go back
-
to the scripture. They could hear they are all language where they came from
-
from the prayers of the Disciples of Jesus. Isn't that amazing? Oh,
-
I ask a question, isn't that amazing that you are a Liberrian and you've
-
gone to your born in Liberia about you are Jewish, You've gone to Jerusalem
-
to celebrate we harvest, And just when you're minding your own business walking on
-
the road, you hear someone speaking a language you can understand it was.
-
It hadn't happened before. It was fantastic. And when they heard the language
-
of what the people were saying in their prayer, they were even amazed the
-
more because they could hear them glorifying God and speaking about the mighty works of
-
God. Please find that scripture for me. They could hear them talking,
-
speaking and glorifying God. They were glorifying God. They were glorifying God.
-
And so I'm going to give you. I'm going to speak English, and
-
then you tell us the version of it in your language. And so imagine
-
I was part of the disciples and I was spraying the Holy Spirit. But
-
from what I was praying, he could hear, Oh God, you are
-
great. How will he say, Oh God, you are great? Yes,
-
yes to a sound my God. So he could hear. Though he
-
could hear me speak pray. He could hear they could hear the disciples praying.
-
What he could hear from his way he came from was yes to al,
-
because God you are great. He could hear them speaking of the mighty
-
works of God. Amen. Dutch bro tell us God tend water into wine.
-
What's his water? Now wine? Please say it again? Water now
-
wine? Repeats say this people. They don't know, they've not troubled,
-
So say it slowly. Quote hate water wine. Amen. So imagine they
-
were praying, Oh my God, isn't God a wonderful God? Oh?
-
I ask you a question? Isn't God wonderful? Amen? So they were
-
praying. They were only praying. Le car tal lah blah blah blah,
-
zama beli belie and some of them will do this. They will do this
-
one car tah blah blah blah. Someone doing kid tell it belie. And
-
what he could hear, what's what he said? I need to go to
-
school to to you know, to say that one? Amen? Please tell
-
us one more time? Winemen. Can you shout an amen? Amen?
-
And so the Dutch, the Jewish Man who was born in dutch Land could
-
hear this. So he was amazed, and all his family people that he
-
had come with, were amazed that a challenge is not only household that people.
-
They are speaking our language. Please give it to Aunti, fancy Aunti,
-
Please tell them what the meaning of God. You are so great?
-
Amen, Oh the French personers landed from the moon, Come and go and
-
join the line. Amen. Are you talking to Jesus on your airport?
-
Is Jesus talking to you on the airport? If Jesus is not talking,
-
they removed. Amen. You see they were hearing their own language, just
-
out of the prayers of the disciples. Amen, galdy, my God is
-
so big, so strong, and so mighty. That's nothing my God cannot
-
do. Translate, so you see where she's coming from. They don't talk
-
into the microphone. Please talk into the microphone. My God is so big,
-
you wonder, m hm. So strong, My God is so strong,
-
and yet my God is so mighty. There is nothing my God cannot
-
do. They were, and so they were praying. They were praying in
-
tongues. But then our God Jewish brothers and sisters could hear them giving glory
-
and speaking about the mighty works of God. You move mountains, Oh God,
-
to two two the mountain. Amen. And so though they were praying
-
in his language, he could only hear you move mountains, you cause the
-
walls to fall. Those are the mighty works of God. Because who can
-
move a mountain? Nobody. It's only God, you understand. And so
-
they could only relate. And they were perplexed and marveled at the same time.
-
To be perplex means to be worried. They were excited and worried at
-
the same time. I was speak English, but say the American version of
-
it. My God, you are wonderful, so wonderful. Amen. And
-
so then they were praying. But the American Jew had come to Jerusalem for
-
penticos. Could hear that? Amen? So why there is nothing you cannot
-
do your beginner level. So why are you comfortable with anything about the mighty
-
words of God. You don't have a vocabulary for that yet. Okay,
-
So maybe let's just say for the papers of this illustration, she had something
-
in German. Amen, she had something in German. Amen, let's give
-
it to our sister. Yes, defile, is that cluke? Did you
-
hear that? So they were speaking tongues, but there was one tongue that
-
was standing out because it was German that she could understand. Amen, So
-
tell us also about how great you are? Oh God, Yes, yes,
-
it's the same thing. Oh so how about you you opened that?
-
Is it English? It's close to English? Yes, so librarian English is
-
close to English. So it's pretty much the same thing. So just imagine
-
they were praying in tongues, but it wasn't Queen's English, It wasn't any
-
any she was hearing, but she was hearing the librarian local dialect. The
-
wonder when you go to the village, you hear them speak, you understand,
-
And so she knew that they were praising God and speaking of his mighty
-
ways. Amen, please give it to the Spanish lady. Then sinks,
-
my soul, my saved your God to the how great? Now it can'temn
-
me almost, Amen, please give it to her. Oh yeah, continuing,
-
that's part too, How great thou art? How great thou art?
-
Because they were praying. Yes, So if they were praying, and what
-
they were praying was of the mighty works of God, so then in their
-
prayer that the interpretation of it. That then thinks, my soul, my
-
savior God to thee, How great thou art, How great thou art,
-
How great thou art? And they are still praying in tones. Then for
-
you as the listener, you are hearing it and hearing it and hearing it,
-
and you are amazed. The woman they dial up, then you are
-
wow, the guy is speaking my language. Have you seen a Guanian who
-
was going to the US and he thinks he lives in a white neighborhood and
-
all of us said, he hears, I would say bravery. Then they
-
are so excited. Someone said, child, I have to get a knock.
-
That is how they became Amen. Then sings my soul, my savior
-
got to thee, How great thou art? If you can sing it in
-
phrase, I sing? You want to say something else? What what you're
-
saying is not what I'm saying. You say, God, you are great?
-
Please did you hear her? Ah? We are speaking about the mighty
-
works of God. Open your mouth and talk. Amen. So you see
-
they were praying in the Holy goals because the promise of the Father. Who
-
is the promise of the Father? Hey, who said God, who is
-
the promise of the Father? I'm talking to you, who is the promise
-
of the Father. Who is the promise of the Father? Who is the
-
promise of the Father? Amen? Some of you are not show because you're
-
not paying attention. Amen. When the Holy Spirit came and they were filled
-
with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak in tongues, the people
-
who are come to Jerusalem could hear their own dialect out of the prayer they
-
were praying, Amen, please be seated. Let's call for them. They
-
could hear. Amen. So let's go to the next verse, verse seven.
-
And they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, Look,
-
are not all these who speak Galileans? And so they didn't expect to
-
hear their language from these people. Amen, next verse, Please, and
-
how is it that we hear our own in our own language in which were
-
born? Next verse? So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to
-
one another, whatever could this mean? Next verse? And you see,
-
in as much as there are people who were amazed and perplexed and who heard
-
about the wonderful works of God, there were also people who were marcus.
-
There were people who were mocking them that these people are drunk with our petition.
-
There were people who were mocking them that these people would leave them.
-
They are smoking something cheap, they are high on something cheap. But the
-
glory is just talking nonsense in their head. Amen. So you see,
-
in order to be a partaker of the revival, you need to be of
-
one mind, one's spirit, and to be in one accord in end at
-
those are the next verse. And while they were mocking them to say that,
-
oh, these people are drunk, then the power of God that had
-
come upon Peter gave Peter the audacity to stand and pete and said, men
-
of Galilee, men of Judea, and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let
-
this be known to you, and heed my words. Next verse, For
-
these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third
-
hour of the day. Next verse. But this is what was spoken off
-
by the prophet Joel. Now, what had happened on Pentecost was prophesided by
-
a prophet called Joel a long time ago before it happened, and he quoted
-
what was prophesied, and the Bible says, and it shall come to pass
-
in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my spread
-
on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters shall propheside your young men shall
-
see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. Amen. If the time
-
this happened over two thousand years ago was referred to as the last days,
-
do you know we are in the last days? Amen? Do you know
-
we are in the last days? And God is pouring out his spirit on
-
all flesh. Not the mocas, not the scofface, not those who make
-
fun of the things of God. But God is pouring out his spirit on
-
those who are of one accord, of those who are one mind, of
-
those who are one spirit, who are waiting and tarrying on God. Those
-
are the people that God is pouring out his spirit upon. Amen. And
-
so if you are one person with one mind, as the Church is,
-
then be prepared to be a recipient of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
-
Can I hear a loud and samen? Amen? And this revival is coming,
-
and it's coming very soon. By the time we finished the month of
-
June, your life will not be the same again. Oh, I thought
-
you say a better, Amen, I said, by the time we finished
-
June, your life will never be the same again. Amen. And so
-
the reason or the importance of Pentecost is that on Pentecost Sunday, the Holy
-
Spirit failed the church with power. Amen. And you see, after Peter
-
stood up and preached, God gave him the Holy Spirit, gave him boldness,
-
and he preached. And on that day three thousand people lifted up their
-
hands that I want to receive Jesus. I thought, you club for Jesus.
-
Hey, I don't blame you because you don't understand the soul winning effects
-
that comes from the Holy Spirit. I'll teach you that three thousand people one
-
day, three thousand people gave their lives to Jesus. A week later they
-
went to preach somewhere and did miracles, and two thousand people said I want
-
to join your church. And he kept going in thousands, thousands, thousands,
-
thousands. So the first significance or importance is that on Penticos Sunday,
-
the Holy Spirit failed the church with power and added three thousand people. And
-
then, can you help me with the sound. And so according to the
-
Acts Chapter two accounts which he just read, after Jesus ascended to heaven,
-
all his disciples gathered and prayed and waited for the gift of the Holy Spirit,
-
which is the promise of the Father. Amen. And so the second
-
point is that the promise of the Father was prophesied in the Old Testament.
-
And so don't be that type of Christian who says that, O, me,
-
I don't read the Old Testament. Me I only read a New Testament.
-
And even the New Testament, I only read the Gospels. Don't be
-
that kind of Christian because you cut yourself short. Amen. If you are
-
studying the Word of God, then you have to know the Word of God
-
from beginning to end, so you can't have perspective to it. Amen.
-
So let's study the Word of God from beginning to end so we fully understand.
-
So in the book of Joel two twenty eight, as we read,
-
the promise of the Father, which is the Holy Spirit, was prophesied even
-
before it came to pass. Amen. And Jesus said to his disciples that
-
I am not leaving you comfortless, but the helper, who is the Holy
-
Spirit, whom the Father will send you in my name. He would teach
-
you all things and bring you to remembrance of all that I have said to
-
you. Amen. That is one aspect of the Holy Spirit. The Holy
-
Spirit is a helper, and he's here to help us. Last week Sunday,
-
a young lady gave a testimony that she was going to write a Cambridge
-
exam and because it was very wide, as there was a wide subject,
-
she didn't know where to study. She only prayed to God. The Lord
-
Holy Spirit helped me. Let me pass. If I pass, our come
-
and give a testimony. And she went to write the exam. And when
-
the test result came, she had ninety four percent. Amen. Who I
-
thought you'd be clapping. Amen. You see those who are not clapping.
-
Those are the people who gets twelve percent and fifteen percent and twenty percent.
-
Amen. So the Holy Spirit can help you. The Holy Spirit can teach
-
you all things. Amen. So as a child of God, you have
-
the advantage of an insider who can give you more information. Unlike unbelievers who
-
don't have access to the Holy Spirit. You have access to the Holy Spirit.
-
So you can ask the Holy Spirit to teach you things you don't know,
-
and he will teach you so that you become outstanding. Amen. Or
-
I said Amen. And so today's message is to scratch the surface of what
-
we are doing in the month of June. Amen. And so in this
-
month we are on spiritual emphasis and Our spiritual emphasis is on the Holy Spirit.
-
Amen. So all the scriptures have given to you, kindly take time
-
and study study on your own. Tell God to give you your a relation
-
of His word. Amen. And God will help us all greatly. Can
-
I hear your amen? Amen? Unlet's bound our heads quickly. Amen.
-
If you are here, you are not born again. You don't know Jesus.
-
Jesus is not a lord over your life. You want to be a
-
beneficiary of the promise of the Father, which is promised only to born again
-
believers. You are here, you want to be born again. You're saying
-
in your heart, pastor, pray for me, I want to be born
-
again. Just lift your hands above your head and let's say a short word
-
of prayer together a man, so that God will show you great message so
-
you also become born again. Amen. Father will give you thanks for your
-
word that has come today. We bless your name because you're ever faithful Jesus
-
precious name. Can I hear your loudest amen? And can we collab for
-
Jesus for sending us the Holy Spirit? Amen? Oh? Are you clapping
-
for the Lord Jesus? Amen? And I want to teach you this thing.
-
We need to be deliberate about thanksgiving to God, all right, And
-
so I want you to say the Lord, I thank you for sending us
-
the Holy Spirit. Amen. That is an awesome prayer in itself. Amen.
-
So before you go to bed, say Lord, I thank you for
-
sending us your Holy Spirit. Amen. Let's welcome Shepherd Jason together. Oh
-
white clapping or are you clapping? Put your hands together for Jesus
