-
Card this Your clapping is suffering from diarrhea. Can you do a better
-
clap for the Lord? Amen, and please stand on your feet. Let's
-
stand on our feet. Briefly stand on your feet. Move out of your
-
seat. Say hello to seven people. Tell them congratulations you made it to
-
the end of the year. Can you move out of your seat. Just
-
tell someone congratulations you made it to the end of the year. To someone.
-
Some people are new, so you have to go to them say congratulations,
-
you made it to the end of the year. Congratulations, you made
-
it to the end of the year. Congratulations, you made it to the
-
end of the year. Halle Yeah, did you say congratulations to someone?
-
You did? Amen. It's a great privilege to be in the presence of
-
the Lord this morning. Amen, And on behalf of our father and the
-
Lord, the Archbishop Nicholas and Williams. Oh, can you do a better
-
club for the Lord and celebrate us of God. Oh, welcome to church
-
this morning. Please tell your neighbors standing by you it's good to see you
-
in church. Amen, and please be seated in the presence of the Law.
-
Insure a play. Gray are you grayly to be pray? Gray?
-
To be pray? Father? Great? Are you? Thank you Jesus,
-
let us pray. Father. We give you thanks this morning for your blessing
-
and keeping us and preserving us from the beginning of the year, even up
-
until now the last day of twenty twenty three. We are very grateful for
-
your love. We are grateful for your messies. We are grateful for your
-
kindness thoughts us. We are grateful that you've shown us great messies and you
-
have preserved our lives. We thank you that you have preserved our souls from
-
death. We thank you that you've preserved our eyes from tears, and you
-
have preserved our feet from falling. This morning we have returned to give you
-
all the praise. We have returned to give you all the glory in Jesus'
-
precious name. Let a believe us say an amen? Oh can you say
-
better? Amen? Hallelujah, Amen. And so we thank God for today,
-
and we thank God for his word that is coming to us today.
-
Amen. Last week, by God's grace, we spoke about thanksgiving, Amen.
-
And we spoke about an aspect of thanksgiving that has to do with remembrance.
-
Remembrance, and so I spoke to you about those who forget, and
-
about the fact that forgetting is a tragedy in humanity. Every human being has
-
the ability to forget, all right, every human being has the ability to
-
forget. But in as much as everyone can forget, one thing you can't
-
easily forget is your name. Can you easily forget your name? Have you
-
forgotten your name before? Adam? Have you forgotten your name before? You
-
haven't? Even when you ask sleep and they wake you up and say what
-
is your name? You remember your name? Is that true? Amen?
-
So then it means that the things that we forget are things that we usually
-
don't place high priority on. Do you understand, once you put priority on
-
it, you won't forget it. And God was advising the children of Israel
-
about the fact that changing life, when you begin to live a good life,
-
it can affect you and cause you to forget God. All right,
-
And once you begin to forget God, your thanksgiving ends. You are not
-
thankful to God anymore because you don't remember him. And if you don't remember
-
him, you won't remember anything he has done for you. If you don't
-
remember him, you will remember how He has healed you. If you forget
-
God, you remember how He has saved you. If you forget God,
-
you remember how God has been good to you and your family that throughout the
-
year, from the first day of the year till now, how God has
-
been good to you all that this year you are not even admitted in a
-
hospital, that you didn't foresake, They didn't rush you to a hospital,
-
they didn't call an ambulance to come and carry you to the hospital, because
-
of God's goodness and his messis. And so God is teaching us that to
-
forget is something that is simple. You can easily forget, but God wants
-
us to always remember because our thanksgiving is linked to remembering God and what He
-
has done for us. Two years ago I spoke to you about the key
-
of thanksgiving and how you can enter into God's presence is with thanksgiving. But
-
how do you have thanksgiving? When you forget God, you won't have thanksgiving,
-
and it means that you deny yourself the access to open the gates into
-
the presence of God. So in your life, as a child of God,
-
you will not have the presence of God with you because you lack thanksgiving.
-
Amen, I spoke to you about a few reasons why people forget.
-
Why people forget. There are so many reasons why people forget. As well.
-
As a child of God, because in the new Year, God has
-
said before you an open door that will lead to your destiny, you can't
-
forget God. Amen. God forbid that any child of God who is here,
-
who has come through the youth church. When you grow up you say
-
that I don't want to go to church anymore. Somebody say God forbid.
-
If I say God forbid that me later in life I will say that there
-
is no God God forbid. Amen. And so we need to begin to
-
remember God and all that He has done for us. Amen. Oh,
-
I said Amen. And so today, by God's grace, I want to
-
share with you six reasons why it is important to remember. Six reasons why
-
it is important to remember. And so let's take a foundation scripture for Some
-
one oh three, verse one to twelve. Some one oh three, verse
-
one to twelve. And the psalmist writes a psalm and says, Bless the
-
Lord, oh my soul, and all that is within me. Bless his
-
holy name. Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and forget not all
-
his benefits. Who forgiveth all thine iniquity, who heals all thy diseases,
-
Who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with loving kindness and messies
-
five, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is
-
renewed Like the eagles. The Lord executes righteousness and judgment for all those who
-
are oppressed. He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the
-
children of Israel. The Lord is messyful and gracious. He is slow to
-
anger and plaintios in mercies. He will not always child, or suffer,
-
or strive with the seed of man. Neither will he keep his anger forever.
-
He has not dealt with us after our sins, nor rewarded us according
-
to our iniquities. For us, the heavens are high up above the earth.
-
So great is God's mercies towards those who fear him. As far as
-
the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from
-
us? Can someone say an amen? And so you see, someone or
-
three gives us many reasons why we can't forget God. The most important reason
-
you should know always is that it is God who forgives all your sins.
-
How many of you have sinned here before? You have sinned before, whether
-
consciously unconsciously, you have sinned. But guess what it is God who forgives.
-
Amen. He is the one who forgives all our iniquities, all our
-
sins. He's the one who forgives us. So we can't forget him.
-
Please tell your neighbor we can't forget God. Please tell your other neighbor,
-
we can't forget God. Amen. And so through our life, as you
-
grow up, as you go to school, as you meet people. You
-
will encounter setting people who don't have their ability to remember. You will encounter
-
them. You meet them primary school, junior high, senior high, university,
-
college, whatever you call it, you meet them. They don't have
-
the ability to remember, and so they don't remember anything good God has done
-
for them. If he asks them go around randomly and say what are you
-
grateful to God for from the beginning of the year till now, they don't
-
have anything to say because they don't have the ability to remember. Amen.
-
And so the ability to remember is probably one of the most important qualities of
-
a child of God. So God expects you to be able to remember.
-
God expects you to be able to remember His goodness. And so when the
-
children of Israel were coming out of Egypt, wanted them to remember how bad
-
things were in Egypt. They walked into Egypt as free men and free women,
-
and a pharaoh came. We forgot about Joseph and enslaved all of them.
-
So they were slaves in Egypt. They were made to work without pay.
-
Do you understand. But when God delivered them out of Egypt, he
-
wanted them to remember how bad things were. And guess what the children of
-
Israel forgot about God. And so when you forget about God, you are
-
disloyal to God and the things of God. You also become rebellious towards the
-
things of God. So remembrance is a very important virtue that every child of
-
God should have. Can I hear an amen? Amen? And so even
-
for the children of Israel, God wanted them to remember always that it is
-
God who brought you out of Egypt into the land, into the Promised Land.
-
But guess what many of them forgot, and they built an idol,
-
a cow as the thing that delivered them from Egypt. Can you imagine that
-
after God had parted the Red Sea, they had walked on dry ground,
-
after God had delivered them from many plagues, they built a sheep, a
-
cow, a golden cow as their God. That that is what delivered them.
-
So remembrance, when you forget, you can easily have something else as
-
your God, apart from the mosa God. Can I hear an amen?
-
When you forget God, you can have something else as your God. Amen.
-
Please write this down. Prayer will bring things into your life. Wisdom
-
will keep the things God has brought into your life. Remembrance and thanksgiving will
-
multiply the things God has given to you. Should I say it again,
-
Prayer will bring things into your life. Wisdom will keep the things God has
-
brought in your life. Remembrance and thanksgiving will multiply the things God has brought
-
into your life. And so without remembrance and thanksgiving, there is no multiplication
-
in your life. Amen. That is why when you are a thankful person
-
and you are eating, and you even have a little food to eat,
-
and you say, thank you Father for this I'm about to receive, Surprisingly,
-
you can eat that little thing and be satisfied. When Jesus was preaching
-
to over five thousand people on the mountain, the Bible says that they were
-
hungry and a small boy all fed two fish and five loaves of bread,
-
and Jesus gave thanks to God for that which he had received, and it
-
multiplied. So thanksgiving has a multiplied effect on things that God has brought into
-
your life. Can I hear an Amen? Amen? And so six reasons
-
why we need to remember God and what he has done. Number One,
-
Remembrance makes us appreciate our salvation. Remembrance makes us appreciate our salvation. Hebrews
-
Chapter two, verse one to three. Hebrews, Chapter two, Verse one
-
to three. Remembrance makes us appreciate our salvation. Let's look at the New
-
King James version of the NIV. Let's do the NIV. The Bible says
-
that we must pay more careful attention. Pay what more careful attention? Do
-
you know why you don't forget your name? Is because you pay careful attention
-
to your name. The day you decide that you don't pay careful attention to
-
your name, they will ask you what is your name, and you mention
-
somebody's name. It says, pay more careful attention therefore, to what you
-
have heard, so that you don't drift away. Keep the scripture there,
-
Pay more careful attention to what you have, what what you have? What
-
you have? What you have, what you have those ye I can't tell
-
you what you have heard. Pay more careful attention. So everything you hear
-
here in this place, pay careful attention to it, because the day you
-
forget what you are being taught here, you begin to drift away. Next
-
verse. For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every violation
-
and disobedience received a just punishment. Next verse, how shall we escape if
-
we ignore such a great salvation, how can you escape hell? If you
-
ignore such a great salvation? Do you understand so by remembrance you will not
-
ignore this great salvation? Do you know that people who forget often don't even
-
remember that Jesus died for them on the cross. Do you know that?
-
Yes, how many of you are here? You are there? Just in
-
December you thought to yourself that, oh, Jesus died for me on the
-
cross. Give me a wave. How many if you have thought to yourself
-
that Jesus died for me on the cross. I'm grateful to go just this
-
moile. You see, many people have not thought about because they don't remember
-
that Jesus died for them. And so if you don't remember that Jesus died
-
for you, then you are ignoring this great salvation. Because if you don't
-
remember that Jesus died for you, and he took your sins on the cross
-
and paid the price for you, you will live your life anyhow, how
-
many of you went to the what you call it the deaty rave or something?
-
They just give the lord awave and shame the devil anybody who went amy?
-
Did you go to the debiti rave. You didn't go? Who went
-
to the dirty rave, the dirt the devil rave, or whatever else called
-
the devil rave the dirty reeve? Did you go? Those who go to
-
such things they don't remember this great salvation? Amen? Please Amy, look
-
for the definition of rave and add dirty to it so that we educate ourselves.
-
Do you know what is dirty? And I hope you know what is
-
dirty? Let me give you an example. Have we seen that shirt of
-
yours that you like wearing? Power? I don't like washing when it's dirty.
-
Do you know how it smells bad? And let's add a rave to
-
it. Come and say it into the microphone so they can hear. Pay
-
careful attention so you don't forget to Rave is to move or advance violently,
-
to move or advance violently, or to speak out irrationally, as if in
-
delirium, irrationally as though you are a mad person, ditty rave. When
-
you fail to remember God, you ignore this great salvation you have received.
-
Amen? Or can we clap our hands? See Bishop Johnny jung Bar at
-
the back one name mischef Amen. When you fail to remember, you fail
-
to remember the Great Salvation. The slams Jesus received for you. You're gonna
-
stand there violently, you are throwing your leg Sometimes you're weak, will fall
-
off. You fail to recognize this great salvation. Amen. So children of
-
God who don't remember God, or who don't have the ability to remember,
-
they always forget their salvation. There's a songwriter says, when I remember what
-
the Lord has done, I will never go back anymore. How many,
-
if you know that song, those who keep going back are people who forgets.
-
It's as simple as that. When God has saved you from sin,
-
God has saved you from disaster, and you keep going back, it means
-
you're forgotten. It means you don't remember. Amen. It means you don't
-
remember. So number one reason for always remembering is that when you remember,
-
you always remember this great salvation. Can I hear an, amen? How
-
many of you are going back to the things I used to do? Did
-
I see a hand up? Amen? You can't go back to the things
-
you used to do because you always need to remember this great salvation. Amen.
-
Please tell your neighbor remember this great salvation. Amen. When you are
-
going to watch that pornography, let this song start up in your heart.
-
When I remember what the Lord has done, I will never go Please listen
-
together. When I remember what the Lord has done, I will never go
-
back anymore. When you think of stealing nothing, When I remember what the
-
Lord has done, I will never go back anymo. When you are tempted
-
to dance to a worldly song on TikTok and Instagram, let this song come
-
out in your heart. When I remember the Lord has done, I will
-
never go back anymore. Amen. When you are tempted to go and phony
-
kids, let this song come out in your mind. When I remember the
-
beatings they gave Jesus on the cross, I will never go back. Let
-
this song work come to your remembrance. Amen. Let the song come where
-
to your remembrance. Amen. And so let's look at number two. Remembrance
-
makes you walk in your calling. Gallicians, Chapter three, verse thirteen to
-
fourteen. Gallicians, Chapter three, verse thirteen to fourteen. Christ redeemed us
-
from the case of the Lord by becoming a case for us, For it
-
is written, kurse is anyone who hangs on the tree. Next verse,
-
he redeemed us in order that the blessing giving to Abraham might come to the
-
gentiles to Christ. Jesus so that by faith we may receive the promise of
-
the Father. So that by faith we may receive the promise of the Father.
-
So when you remember, you walk in the calling that God has called
-
you to. Amen. Please let's stand on our feet and let's welcome our
-
supervising Bishop, Bishop John, and here tea into the house with a hand.
-
Clap to the Lord. Amen. Oh, is that all the best
-
you can do today? Bishop is coming to give you comnion. So please
-
clap, clap your hands better, Amen, hallelujah. I hope some of
-
you are wondering what this is? No secret center. This is communion.
-
Amen. We are coming to have communion and Bishop is coming to give it
-
to us. Amen. So please be seiz and let's run through this quickly
-
so that I hand over to Bishop. Let's look at Second Corinthians Chapter five
-
is eighteen to ninety, eighteen to twenty. Second Corinthians five eighteen to twenty.
-
So the point is remembrance makes you walk in your calling. Second Corinthians
-
five eighteen and says that all this is from God, who reconciled us onto
-
himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. Our calling is that God has
-
reconciled us onto himself and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. Next verse
-
that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins
-
against them. So all the sins you have committed, all the sins you
-
are committing, God is not counting it against you because of the fact that
-
God is reconciling you to himself, and He has committed to you the message
-
of reconciliation. That is your calling. Amen. God has called you into
-
the ministry of reconciliation, and God has given you the message of reconciliation.
-
We are therefore Christ's ambassadors. He has even added more, He has honored
-
you. You are an ambassador of Christ. Please tell your neighbor do you
-
know you're an ambassador of Christ? Yes? So, ambassadors of Christ.
-
Always remember when that boy does something you want to insult them, then the
-
song will come. When I remember what the Lord has done, I will
-
never go back anymore. Me While those days you say my b and you
-
beat them, well, well, but you you are now a ambassadors of
-
Christ. Don't fight. Amen, You're an ambassador of Christ. So when
-
you remember God and what he has done. You walk in your calling that
-
God has called you to. Amen. And your calling is that God has
-
called you into the ministry of reconciliation and has given you the message of reconciliation
-
to reconcile the world to Him. So, as an ambassador of Christ in
-
twenty twenty four, your friends can't be unbelievers anymore? Can I hear?
-
An? Amen? All your unbelieverd friends should be following you to church as
-
an ambassador of Jesus Christ. Do you understand you can't be going to deteriterate
-
with your friends who are unbelievers, or going to Charlie Waite or which one
-
single tone or which one is a marathon? And you'll be there with your
-
friends and you'd be Dancince. I dance, hey, Ambassador of Jesus Christ.
-
When I remember what the Lord has done, I will never go back
-
anymore. Amen. And so remembrance who make us walk in the calling that
-
God has called us to. Amen. Let's look at number three quickly.
-
Remembrance makes us kind to others? Efficient chapter four thirty four. God told
-
the Israelites to be kind to strangers just because they were once foreigners in Egypt.
-
Amen. Efficients Chapter four, verst. Thirty two Ephicients for thirty two.
-
Be kind and compassionate to one another, and be kind to one another,
-
tender hearted forgiving one another, even as God, for Christ's sake has
-
forgiven you. How many of you believe that God has forgiven you all your
-
sins? Then the Bible says that be kind to one another. Amen.
-
So remembrance keeps you, makes you kind to others. Amen. Number four.
-
Remembrance keeps you humble. Philippians, Chapter two, Verse three to eight.
-
Remembrance keeps you humble. When you remember where you came from, you
-
always recognize the grace of God that has been at work in your life.
-
Amen. When you clearly remember where God picked you up from, you will
-
not attribute your success to any personal strength or wisdom. Amen. But unfortunately
-
people black that portion out so that all their thanksgiving goes to themselves, and
-
they'll say, oh, I made it by my own strength. Amen.
-
Let nothing be done through strife. Let's look at you, King James.
-
Please, not all of us went to legan. Amen. Let nothing be
-
done through selfish ambition or conceit. But in loneliness of mind, let each
-
esteem other better than themselves so in humility, esteem the one seated by you
-
better than you. Amen. Next verse, Please let each of you look
-
out not only on his own interests, but also on the interests of others.
-
How many of you brought your secret senter to someone in church this morning?
-
Give the Lord awave and shame that de will. Amen, Oh club,
-
I see many hands. Let's clap our hands. Amen. Let this
-
mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Let this mind
-
be in you. Amen. And so remembrance keeps us humble. Amen.
-
And finally, remembrance makes us engage in spiritual activity. Look chapter twenty two,
-
verse nineteen to twenty. Look chapter twenty two, nineteen to twenty.
-
And this is Jesus. On the day that he was arrested. He took
-
bread and gave thanks, and broke it and gave it to them, saying,
-
this is my body which is giving to you. Do this in remembrance
-
of me, verse twenty. Likewise, he took the cup after supper,
-
saying, this is the cup of the New Covenant, which is shared for
-
you. And so Jesus said that let's do this in remembrance of him.
-
Amen. When you remember God and all that he has done, you engage
-
in spiritual activity. Can I hear an? Amen? And so this morning
-
we are going to take the communion, and very soon, in the next
-
ten seconds, Bishop will come and officiate that session. Amen. But let
-
it be as a remembrance to God, because you remember all that He has
-
done for us,
