Level the mind that is accurate, a sound and has the ability to filter
-
information and influence. All right. And so the prescribed mind condition that God
-
has prescribed for us in order for us to walk and have the mind of
-
Christ is for us to first have a sound mind, because that is what
-
God has given to us as children of God. And so God's prescription for
-
us as chuldren of God is that we should have a sound mind. Can
-
I hear an? Amen? If you're following what I'm saying so far?
-
Amen? Amen? Amen, Amen, Amen? All right, So let's
-
have someone read for us Romance chapter twelve Versus two to four. Romance Chapter
-
twelve vers two to four, Whom twelve verse two to four. I'm reading
-
the nalty version. Yes, soonds copy the behavior and customs of this world.
-
But let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you
-
think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is
-
good and pleasing and perfect. Amen. Amen. And so God wants us
-
all, especially as children of God, to be transformed to a new person.
-
And the new person that God wants us to be transformed into is a
-
person that looks like Christ Jesus. And so when salvation happens and you become
-
born again. It takes the renewing of the mind based on instruction from God's
-
word for transform nation to begin to happen in your life. All right,
-
So when transformation begins to happen as a result of the renewing of your mind,
-
then gradually you see that you begin to bear the nature of Christ.
-
You begin to bear the nature of God. And so if we compare when
-
you were not born again to when you were born again, we can see
-
a clear difference in your life, that is a transformed life. But in
-
order to be transformed, the first prescription for being transformed is that we should
-
not conform to the patterns of the world, but we should be transformed by
-
the renewing of our minds. And so you cannot be born again child of
-
God who loves God, who is fully conformed to the patterns of this world.
-
Now I take time. I think I've treated the patterns of this world
-
in our podcast, So kindly refer to our podcast. Actually, Youth Spink
-
techs on all the podcast platforms, and there's a teaching on there. When
-
I started teaching on transformation and renewing of your mind and so you realize that
-
God wants to change us. God wants to make us new people. He
-
wants to change your personality. He wants to change your outlook. He wants
-
to change how we respond to circumstances situations. But until we are renewed in
-
the mind, transformation cannot come to heart. And for you to even walk
-
it with a sound mind requires you to have a renewed mind. Amen.
-
And so the prescription today that I want to speak to you about is the
-
mindset or having the mind of Christ Jesus. Having the mind of Christ.
-
That is the ultimate mind condition of any child of God who loves God and
-
who is obedient to God's voice, and who is obedient to the purpose of
-
God. All right, So Philippians chapter two, best five to age shepherd
-
Drab, please read that for us Philippians chapter two, verse five to eight.
-
Philippians two five to eight. Okay, verse five. You must have
-
the same attitude that that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he
-
did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead,
-
he gave up his divine privileges. He took the humble position of a slave
-
and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form,
-
he humbled himself in obedience to the God and died a criminal's death on a
-
pause, Amen, Amen. So you see when people read the scripture that
-
initially they had to jump because Jesus died a criminal's death. And I don't
-
think anyone wants to die of criminal's death. That is not what God is
-
saying. That is not the import of the scripture. But this scripture is
-
talking about the attitude of Christ because Jesus came to fulfill the purpose, and
-
the purpose for which he came was to redeem man from sin and the effects
-
of sin, which is death. And so by humbling himself having that attitude,
-
the Bible says that he humbled himself even to death on the cross.
-
And though he was God, when he came to the earth, he considered
-
himself of no reputation, so that he can be like a humble save and
-
so he can fulfill his purpose and his agenda on earth. And so Jesus
-
set a pattern for us to follow as far as his mindset and his attitude
-
is our concerned. And so the New King James version says that let this
-
mind be in you, which was also in Christ, Jesus. Let this
-
mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. If you remember
-
I said earlier in my submission that God wants us to have the nature of
-
God, the nature of Christ. And if we are going to have the
-
nature of Christ and be like him, then it means that we need to
-
think like him. In the Book of Arts, the Bible says that after
-
Jesus, Christ was anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power, that he
-
went about doing good. And so you realize that the nature of God in
-
the mindset of Christ Jesus is all about doing good. Okay, so let's
-
look at a few characteristics regarding the mind of Christ. The first characteristic about
-
the mind of Christ is that the mind of Christ is not proud. The
-
mind of Christ is not proud, It's humble. The mind of Christ is
-
humble. The mind of Christ. You can find humility in the mind of
-
Christ. Number two, the mind of Christ things on things above in that
-
the mind of Christ is more kingdom based than earthly based. So the mind
-
of Christ is any child of God who has the mind of Christ is more
-
of a kingdom citizen than just a person walking on earth. So people who
-
are kingdom minded, think on things above all. Right, kingdom minded people
-
think on things above The mind of Christ does not entertain high things. High
-
mindedness, which is also pride. The mind of Christ does not entertain high
-
mindedness. Just imagine if Jesus, when Jesus came, he decided to live
-
like the king that he is from eternity, then he would even have associated
-
with, you know, the poor. He would not have associated with people
-
who don't who are not of you know, high status in society. But
-
because he had a mindset of humility, he was able to relate with everybody,
-
the high, the mighty, the rich, the poor, the less
-
privilege, was able to relate with every single one of them. Okay,
-
And when you read further, Philippians are perforce Philippians to age. When you
-
read downwards, and he says that because of this, God has highly exalted
-
him and given him a name that is above every other name, that at
-
the mention of the name, that every nie should bow, both in heaven,
-
on earth, and even under the earth, and confess that Jesus Christ
-
is Lord to the glory of the Father. So because of his humility he
-
has been given a name that is above every other name. So the final
-
characteristic of the mind of Christ is that the mind of Christ results in honor,
-
It results in elevation, it results in glory. So when you humble
-
yourself, your expected outcome is that God will exalt you. God will lift
-
you up far above all. Right. And so if that is your desire,
-
that one day you'll be great in future, then have the mind of
-
Christ, because the mind of Christ is the surest way to greatness in the
-
Kingdom of God. Amen. So now we want to know how can we
-
have the mind of Christ. So we've spoken about the mind of Christ.
-
How can we have the mind of Christ? Matthew, chapter eleven, verse
-
twenty nine. Matthew, Chapter eleven, verse twenty nine, Matthew eleven,
-
verse twenty Yes, please go ahead, first, take my yoke upon you.
-
Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart,
-
and you will find rest for your souls. Amen. Amen. And so
-
how to have the mind of Christ is to go back to the person or
-
the personality who has that mind and learn from him. So he says that
-
let me teach you. Let me teach you. Take my yoke upon yourself
-
and learn from me, for I am gentle, I am humble, and
-
I am gentle in heart, all right. And when you take the yoke
-
of Christ upon yourself as a child of God, you find rest for your
-
soul. Another translation to finding rest for your soul is that you have a
-
sound You have a sound mind, so things like anxiety you don't experience.
-
Things like that, you get it. Your mind is strong. You are
-
strong at will, so you are not easily convinced to do things which you
-
think are not right. You have a sound mind. And Jesus says that
-
my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. The burden of following
-
Christ, Jesus is lighter than the burden of living in the world. Amen.
-
And so he says we should learn from him that he would teach us.
-
So let's look at Johnt chapter thirteen, verse fifteen. John chapter thirteen,
-
verse fifteen, John thirteen, verse fifteen. I've given you an example
-
to follow. Do as I have done to you, Amen. Amen.
-
And so it says that the way I'm teaching you is that I have given
-
you examples to follow. So do as I have done. And so the
-
way you have the mind of Christ is to look and to study the life
-
of Christ Jesus, and to learn from him. If you read Feather,
-
it says that most assuredly, I say to you, a sevant is not
-
greater than his master, nor is he who is sent greater than he who
-
sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do
-
them. So when you do what Jesus did, you begin to have the
-
mind of Christ. Amen. And so one aspect of the things that Jesus
-
did was that Jesus was interested in the Word of God. At the age
-
of twelve years old. Jesus was very interested in the Word of God.
-
He would study it. He would go to the synagogue to study the Word
-
of God. You will sit down in small meetings, have deliberations with people
-
on the Word of God, and he will speak his mind on it and
-
out of it. It was revealed that the young Jesus had wisdom and understanding
-
in the Word of God, that even the older generation at that time did
-
not have that knowledge of that understanding in the Word of God. Amen.
-
So let's look at first Joint Chapter two, verse five to six. First
-
Joint Chapter two, verse five to six. First John two five to six,
-
that's five. But those who are big God's words truly show how completely
-
they love Him. That is how we know we are living in Him.
-
Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.
-
Amen. Amen. And so the proof of your love is not your abilities
-
to sing, Oh, I love you, Jesus our worship and adore you
-
and lie on the flaw and role. That is not the proof of your
-
love for God. The biblical proof of your love for God is when you
-
obey his instruction, when you keep the word of God. That is what
-
shows that you love God. And so in learning to have the mind of
-
Christ, the foundation of it is that we must keep God's word. If
-
you read Joshua one Aid, it says that let this book of the Lord
-
not depart from your mouth, but meditate on a day and night, for
-
in it you will prosper. You get it, and you will have good
-
success. And so keeping God's word and obeying God's word is what shows us
-
that we truly love God. Amen. And so now we've come to understand
-
how we can have the mind of Christ by imitating Christ, Jesus and learning
-
from him. We also have come to understand that we need to walk like
-
him. First Joint, Chapter one, verse five. The Bible says that
-
if we walk in the light as He is in the light, then we
-
will fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus will cleanse us from
-
all our sins. And so one other way that you can have the mind
-
of Christ is to have fellowship with one another, because Jesus had fellowship with
-
one another. All right, And so let me give you quickly seven points
-
on how you can walk with the mind of Christ. How you can walk
-
with the mind of Christ before we bring our service to a close shortly.
-
Number one, Walk as he walked in obedience and dependence on the Father.
-
Walk as he walked in dependence and obedience to the Father. The Bible says
-
in the Book of Proverb that in all your ways acknowledge, and he says
-
that trust. Do not trust on your own understanding, But in all your
-
ways acknowledge God, and He will direct your path. So Jesus had full
-
dependence on God. He walked depending solely on God. The Scripture reference with
-
that his first joint of the two verse six. We are not going to
-
read that, but just write that down so you can refer to it.
-
So Number one, walk as Jesus walked in full dependence and obedience on the
-
Father. Number two, love the brethren, Love your neighbor, first Joint,
-
Chapter two, verse ten, and First John chapter three, verse fourteen
-
to seventeen. Love the brethren, have love. Jesus had love. Jesus
-
was compassionate towards the brethren. Jesus showed love. So in order to walk
-
like him and to have his mind, it requires that we love the brethren.
-
Number three, continue in what you have heard. Continue in what you
-
have heard, first joint of the two verse twenty four. So let's read
-
that first joint of the two verse twenty four. Continue in what you have
-
heard First John, two twenty four. So you must remain faithful to what
-
you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain
-
in fellowship with the Son and with the Father. Amen. Amen. And
-
so continue in what you have heard. And so I was telling those in
-
service yes on Sunday that if you've been in the youth church for at least
-
three months, or even two months, or even one month, you should
-
know a theme that you know you've heard something about. Because our services have
-
run based on themes and things like the Kingdom of God, the righteousness of
-
God, duality. You know, Anakaso athers all those themes on things that
-
pertains the kingdom of God and the Word of God. So you need to
-
continue in what you have heard, all right, So number four remain in
-
the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Remain in the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
-
If you're writing notes and you are not, I'm going to first,
-
don't worry. I'll shed the notes on the platform right after, so you
-
can refer to it. Number four remain in the anointing of the Spirit.
-
Scripture reference first joint of two, verse twenty seven and Efficients chapter four,
-
verse thirty. Then we look at number five. Number five is God yourself
-
from sin? God yourself from sin? How can you guard yourself from sin
-
by hiding God's word in your heart? David wrote that your words have I
-
hidden in my heart so that I do not sin against you. So study
-
God's word and hide God's word in your heart so that it's not easy to
-
sin. But God yourself from sin. So first joint of the three,
-
verse six and Genesis chapter twenty nine, verse twelve. Our references for that
-
point. So God yourself from all sin. Number six way to walk in
-
the mind of Christ is do not love the world first joint of two,
-
verse fifteen. The Bible says that if you love the world, then the
-
love of the Father is not in you. The world here is not the
-
physical world, but is the patterns of this world, the way of live.
-
There is a prescribed way of living in this world which is ungodly and
-
is against everything else that God stands for. And so if as a child
-
of God, you love those things, then the Bible says that then the
-
love of the Father is not in you. So do not love the world.
-
Amen. And number seven cleanse yourselves from sin. Second Corinthians, chapter
-
seven, verse one and Psalm one thirty nine, verse twenty three to twenty
-
four, Someone thirty nine, verse twenty three to twenty four and Second Corinthians,
-
Chapter seven, verse one. The Bible says that God has made a
-
way of escape for us. He says that if we can come boldly to
-
Him and confess our sins to him, then He is faithful and just to
-
forgive us. It is in the nature of man to sin and to make
-
mistakes. So if you happen to make a mistake, don't turn your back
-
on God, but still come back to God and cleanse yourself from your sin
-
by confessing your sin to God, and God himself, who is faithful and
-
just, will always forgive your sin. Amen. And so finally, as
-
a scripture for prayer, you can take down Psalm forty three, verse three,
-
and the writer writes, send your light and your truth, let them
-
lead me, and let them bring me to your holy hell and to your
-
dwelling Amen. So that we can walk in the path that Christ Jesus has
-
set for us, so that we can be everything that Christ Jesus wants us
-
to be. That ultimately we can have the mind of Christ, which is
-
a sound mind that God gives to his children in Jesus' precious name. Amen.
-
Amen, Amen. And so we have two minutes before we end our
-
session for today. So we just take two questions if they are If there's
-
anyone with a question, you can just show by hand, and then we'll
-
take your question and then we can answer by God's grace to give you some
-
insight any question or if you've got any feather understanding of all that I've thought,
-
I've just taught you guys, and you know you have a perspective to
-
it which you think can benefit your friends. You want to share it as
-
well. You are free to share it as well. So question time.
-
Okay, we have one more minute, all right. So since I'm not
-
seeing any hands, then it me is that there are no questions. I
-
believe strongly that God has helped you to understand the message on the mind of
-
Christ tonight, and that there is no doubt in your mind when it comes
-
to the mind of Christ and the sound Man. Amen. And so Father,
-
we give you thanks for how far you've brought us. We bless your
-
name and we give you praise. We give your glory for your word that
-
has come. We thank you for the light of your word that has entered
-
our hearts. We thank you for understanding that has entered our minds. We
-
pray the Lord you perfect everything concerning us in the name of Jesus, that
-
when your son appears in the clouds of glory, will be found blameless and
-
will be ready to meet him in the clouds of glory. We give you
-
thanks and we give you all praise in Jesus precious name. Let her believe
-
I say and Amen. Amen, Amen, Amen, So God bless you
-
richly for joining us, and a special thank you to Tristan and his friend
-
for joining us all the way from school. My prayer for you is that
-
as you are seeking God diligently and you are desiring to fellowship with the brethren,
-
that may God give you a sound mind. May He cause you all
-
to excel in all your endeavors, and may He set you up as pickings
-
and lights that when people have problems and when people need knowledge, when people
-
need consoles, when people need advice and counsel, you'll be the ones that
-
people come to for help. In Jesus' precious name. Amen to God,
-
bless you for joining us tonight. Let's take a few announcements from Shepherd A.
-
D and then we'll end that service for tonight. Okay, thank you
-
Rev. So much for such a wonderful word. Okay, so let's remember
-
that we have our Saturday prayer meetings from eight pm to nine pm. Do
-
well to join in and pray for the youth church and also for yourself.
-
Amen. Let's remember that on Sundays, our first service starts at seven am
-
and then our second service starts at ten am, see you during these meetings,
-
Samen. Amen, thank you so much for the announcements. Amen.
-
And if you have a testimony, God shows you kindness, God shows you
-
great mercy your family, and you want to testify about God. We encourage
-
you greatly that when you come to church join those given testimonies to thank God,
-
because having testimonies is a sign that you're overcoming trials and temptations, you're
-
overcoming the enemy. According to Romans Revelations, Chapter twelve is eleven says that
-
Bible says that and they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by
-
the word of their testimony. The testimony God has given us is that he
-
who has the Son has life, and he who does not have the Son
-
doesn't have life. So if you have the Son of God, then testimonies
-
will be your daily routine. Amen. And so we encourage you or to
-
testify in this year the keys that are working with our keys of humility,
-
keys of thanksgiving, and keys of sacrifice. And so please do join us
-
for service on Sunday. We'll look forward to seeing you. Amen. Let's
-
share God's goodness together while we bring our meeting to a close. Tonight.
-
Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Love of God the Holy Spirit be
-
with us now forever more. Amen. With your right hand on your head,
-
declare you annoying my head? With fresh oil cup runs over? Surely
-
God's goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives, and
-
we shall dwell in the House of the Lord forever and ever. Amen.
-
Amen. Just say to yourself, I'm blessed and I can never be cursed
-
in Jesus' name. Blessed and I can never because she's ustening. Heymen,
-
good night everyone, good night, good night, good night, good night
-
everybody. Good night.
