Who is Jesus to You- Rev Ron Chiarelli

We rounded up our discussion on that I may know him, and I just

brought to bear to share with you some thoughts that the Lord gave to me.

Amen. And so tonight we just want to touch on that and then

maybe go a little deeper on where we left off Sunday. But let's take

our foundation scripture from Matthew chapter sixteen's thirteen to twenty and I'll try and read

it quickly so that we can delve into the other matters for today. And

so God bless all the shepherds on the call. Amen. I think I

saw Reverend Francis somewhere on the course. Reverend Francis still on the court.

Just give us a shout out. Amen, I am here, Thank you

so much. So your wife somewhere, and Grace is also on the course

of the rich. Yeah, listen, or the whole thing. Thank you,

he's a good listen. Blows us or shepherds or members anyone that is

on the receive a special blessing tonight in Jesus, nighty night. Amen.

So the Bible says that when Jesus to the region of Syria Philippi, that

he asked his disciples, saying, who do men say that I am.

You know who do men say that I the son of Man? And so

they said, some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah. I just

say Jeremiah. Some even say you're one of the prophets. And he said

to them, but who do you say that I am? Simon? Peter

answered and said, you are the Christ, the son of the Living God.

By seventeen Jesus said answered and said to him, blessed are you,

Simon Vajona, For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but

my Father, who is in Heaven. And I also say to you,

Peter, on this rock, I will build my church, and the gates

of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys

of the Kingdom of Heaven. And whatever you bind on earth shall be bound

in Heaven, and whatever you lose on earth will be loosed in Heaven.

Amen. And so in this passage Jesus was very interested in knowing what is

identity in the minds of people works at the time, in that he asks

a question, you know that who do people say that I am? Have

they really come to know me for who I am? Or they have a

different perception or ideology or identity about me. And so the people the disciples

answered and gave Jesus. We have feedback on who people perceived Jesus to be.

And so, with Jesus' name being shed abroad and with all the miracles

he was doing, people thought that he was John the Baptist. But meanwhile

John the Baptist lived at that time. People thought that he was, you

know, Elijah. People thought that he was Jeremiah the Prophet. And it

was quite strange to him that he asked the question from his disciples that okay,

yeah, the people got it wrong, but how about you, who

do you think that I am? Who do you see that I am?

And I believe? They were all very quiet, and Peter answered and said,

you are the Christ, the son of the Living Girl. So Peter

mentioned the true identity of the Lord Jesus, and Jesus, perceiving that it

was the heavenly Father who had given Peter this insert and revelation, confirmed that

it is not by flesh and blood that you have come to know me,

amen. And so here Jesus reveals a very fantastic mystery that you cannot know

Jesus with flesh and blood. Amen, you need to know Jesus in spirit.

In the Gospel of John, Jesus said to the Samaritan woman, the

time is coming, and the time is now where the true worshipers must worship

the Father in spirit and in truth. And so to know Jesus, you

can't know him by flesh and blood. You need to know Jesus by the

spirit. And if you read carefully, you realize that Jesus addressed Peter by

his original name, which is Simon bar Jona. But then right after mentioning

that Peter had Simon had come to a revelation through the spirit, he now

mentions his new name, which is Peter. And then he now mentions Peter's

new identity that you are now a rock, and on this rock I will

build my church, and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it.

Amen. And so knowing Jesus in the spirit will not only let us know

who he is, but we will know his identity. And the effect of

that is that our identity also will change and will become who God has purposed

for us to be. And Man, if you're still hearing me, can

I hear an Amen said to him that I will build my church. You'll

be one of the You be the foundation of the church I will build,

and the gates of hell will not prevail against you. And then Jesus goes

for that to say that I will give you the keys of heaven, the

keys of heaven. I will give you the keys of heaven. And that

whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven. You get it.

Just whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven. So whatever you

stop on earth will be stopped in heaven. Whatever you lose on earth will

be loose in heaven. Your identity in Christ Jesus gives you the ability to

bind and to lose. When you have come to know Jesus for who he

is, your identity will change and you will receive the keys of heaven.

That gives you the power to pray for the sake, to declare people lose,

and they will be lose. You can declare people to be bound and

will be bound. Amen. And so knowing Jesus brings many benefits to us.

And so now the question will be that who do you say that Jesus

is? Who is Jesus Christ? To you? Simon Peter God the revelation

of who Jesus is, and he said, you are the Christ, the

some of the Living God. To you, who is Jesus? To you

amen. A couple of years back, I think about seven to about eight

to nine or maybe ten years ago, I used to be in the choir

in the main church. And on one evening service, I think it was

a Wednesday evening service, you know, we came to church, we ministered,

and then we used to sit on the stage where the big screen.

It used not to be a big screen, you know, it just used

to be across if I was a scroll those days. Yeah, and so

were Then while we're worshiping, I realized the congregation. I don't know if

it's because they had come from work or they had a lot on their mind,

but they were not engaged. And somewhere on their phones pressing their phones.

There was a man that was sitting there and crossed his leg, you

know, and was just had angered himself like this and was just watching what

was going on as though we were doing a performance or you know, gos

for rock show. And so while the scene troubled me a lot, so

on my way home, by the grace of good, I used to give

my friends a lift. I used to live at Cinter Truth. Then.

So they were in the car and they were talking. They were chatting,

but my mind was still on what had happened in the service and why people

were just some way when it came to worshiping God. And you know,

even during the service, people we just get up and walk out and all

of that. And so while I was contemplating on it, I was asking

the Lord in my mind that, so how is it that you know,

your children, we come from far and near, but when we come,

we all have different attitudes towards you. And how we honor you in church

is different how we reverence you. People have all sorts of funny attitudes where

we come to church as though you are not here and we have just come

to just talk and just go. And while I was contemplating on these things

in my mind and in my heart, I heard the Lord speak. And

the Lord spoke so audibly that he overshadowed all the people were talking in the

car. There were girls in the car. They were talking and they were

laughing, but the voice of God was louder. And the Lord said that

your revelation of who God is determines your worship. And now I've come to

understand over the years that worship is not a song, but worship is your

posture of reverence towards God. So even how you honor God is your worship.

How you be when you come to change. The Bible says that of

yourself, your body and living sacrifice and to God holy and acceptable, which

is your reasonable service. Your worship is your reasonable service. So your revelation

of who God is determines your reasonable service to God in it, and so

on the backdrop of that, to know Jesus requires you to have a revelation

of who he is. And for many we've come to encounter the Lord Jesus

as a deliverer. So consider a woman like the you know, the Samaritan

woman at the well of Jacob, who had been married five times and the

one that she was living with was not even her husband. For her,

she sold Jesus as a prophet, and Jesus confirmed to her that he is

the Messiah, the one that they've been waiting for. He is the one,

and he has come. You get it. And the reason why the

Samaritans they didn't talk to the Jews was because of a long standing division that

had happened after Solomon's son. You know, Robuam was the kingdom divided when

Robuam was king. So the kingdom divided into the Northern Kingdom and the Southern

Kingdom. And those in the Northern Kingdom were taken into captivity by the Assyrians

and they were mixed with different type of blood. They married intermarried after people

that God had commanded the Jews not to marry, and so they were more

less contaminated. They were half castes, so the Jews they didn't want anything

to do with them. So when Jesus came, she was very surprised that

a Jew would speak to her as Samaritan. But you see, Jesus had

a master plan to reveal the redemptive plan of God, you know, to

us. And so Jesus left the ninety nine just to go after the one

Amen. And so Jesus revealed himself as a deliverer. If you consider Marry

Midolin, who was infested with seven demons who would make her behave on godly

and do all manner of things. When she encountered Jesus, Jesus delivered her.

And so she had a revelation about Jesus that Jesus is the son of

God. Jesus is a deliverer. Jesus is my God, he is my

master, to the point that she didn't mind bringing an alabaster box with oil

that was worth one year's wages to come and to pour that oil at the

feet of the Lord Jesus, to show honor to him and to reverence him

for who he is. And so your revelation of who God is, who

Jesus is, who will ultimately determine how you worship him. They will ultimately

determine your response, how you honor him. It will ultimately determine how you

relate with him. It will ultimately determine how you behave even when you come

to church. So the question again is who is Jesus Christ to you?

Is he just the character in your Bible? Is he just the character in

the movie you have watched, the Passion of the Christ or the Chosen?

Is he just the character to you? Or you have a revelation of who

he is? Amen? And so throughout scripture, the Bible has the aim

to reveal who Jesus is to us. As far back as Genesis, the

word was revealed, who is Jesus Christ John one was one and two.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and

the Word was God. And the Bible says in the Book of Genesis one

that in the beginning God said, so Jesus was revealed when God spoke,

Amen, And everything that was created was created because of him. In him,

all things were made, and for him all things were made. Amen.

And all throughout scripture, even in the Bible, people have all sorts

of theories about who Jesus is. Some just think he's an ancient Jewish rabbi

who was who was the earth at some point something that Jesus, you know,

is just a prophet of some sort because he could walk in manifest the

Word of knowledge and word of wisdom. You know. Some even thought that

Jesus was a ghost, or he's just a spirit, you know. And

in a modern world, someone went to preach to someone and the guy as,

is Jesus a politician, because he's tired of politicians. Amen. But

if you go around and you ask people about Jesus, you'll be amazed the

sources of things that you will hear. But the whole Bible aims to reveal

Jesus to us. And so, as a child of God, if your

Bible is not your friend, if you don't read your Bible, you don't

have your quiet time, then I'm sorry to say, your knowledge of who

Jesus is, and even the revelation you will have about him, will be

very limited. Amen. And so to know Jesus, you need to go

on a journey through the scriptures in order to know him. And when you

know him, your identity will change and you receive authority which comes in the

keys of the kingdom, where you'll be able to shut and you'll be able

to lose or open, and things will happen. As you have declared that

a child of God. And so we want to look at the Bible and

see a few places where Jesus is revealed to us. If you read Isaiah

fifty three, he talks about Jesus, the sacrifice that Jesus went through,

and that is very deep, you know, just to understand the cost of

our salvation. Because the truth of the matter is that Jesus didn't need to

go on the cross, but he chose to go on the cross for us.

He could have God could have done something else. To readem mine,

but Jesus chose to go on the cross for us amen. And so according

to the Bible, Jesus is not we just don't think or feel or learn

from him through movies, or we need to have a personal revelation of who

he is. There will be many testimonies of people who have just prayed.

There was a Muslim girl testimony I was watching about the Muslim girl who was

curious to know who Jesus is, and so decided to read her Bible.

And every night when she finishes reading the Bible, she will hide her Bible.

And one day the father, who is a sheikh, found the Bible

and it's blasphemy. Is an abomination for a Muslim girl in the Muslim country

to be seen to be reading a Bible. And they were going to this

own hair, lash hair and send her off, and she just prayed a

simple prayer that Jesus, I've read of you in the Bible, if you

are real, please help me out of this situation. And something happened and

they forgot about the punishment they were supposed to give to her. She prayed

against Jesus, if you are real, reveal yourself to me. That night

when she went to the Jesus walk into her room, the Lord revealed himself

to her. There'll be many people and many testimonies, people who have tested

others religions and said that, Oh, I mean, I'm setching to know

God, to see God, to find him, but I can't find him.

But I've heard about you, Jesus. I don't know you, but

I want to know you. So can you reveal yourself to me somehow and

don't go to bed, and in the evening Jesus will just show up and

that will change their lives for the rest of their days. And the thing

with encountering Jesus and having a revelation about him is that you will not make

the same. Your life will not be the same. God will change you.

Your identity will change like someone by Jonna change to Peter. Your identity

will change. Then you will be what God has purposed for you to be.

Amen. And so throughout scripture it's revealed. The revelation of Jesus is

revealed by the witness of the apostles who walked with Jesus. They walked with

him, they heard him preach, they heard him teach, they saw him

heal the sick. They saw him open the eyes of the blind. They

saw him caress the fig tree, and the vic tree died. They saw

Jesus walk on water. Amen. They saw Jesus ten water into wine.

There are many miracles that they saw Jesus do. And so the apostles,

who are witnesses wrote in the Bible. They wrote scripts manuscripts about their experience

with Jesus. And so by studying these scripts, which are now books in

the Bible, we can know how Jesus walk. We can know the nature

of Jesus. We can know the attributes of Jesus. We can know what

the personality of Jesus is, so that we relates with him. Amen.

Because Jesus is a person. He's not just a character in your Bible,

but he is a person. And if you know who he is, you

can relate with him. Amen. And so the apostle Paul, the apostle

Peter, I beg your pardon, was the first disciple of Jesus called.

And Peter and his brother Andrew were fisherman, and Jesus called him. He

says, to follow me, I'll make you fishers of men. And so

he followed him, and so Peter saw all the miracles Jesus did. Peter

saw he heard all the teachings that Jesus preached, Amen, and by that

his identity changed. So even before Jesus was crucified, that Jesus, that

Peter denied Jesus three times, Jesus re established him. When Jesus died,

Peter said, I'm going fishing. He went fishing with his brother. While

they went to sea, they didn't catch any fish, and Jesus came to

the beach and called out to them their children, did you catch anything?

They said, no, we told all night, you didn't catch any fish.

And Jesus said, cast your nets to the right. Just well,

little cast your nets, and they caught so much fish. So Andrew said

to Peter that it must be the Lord, because this type of miracles.

Is is Jesus who can do these type of things. And so while they

were still found, Peter jumped into the sea and swam all the way to

the beach, and he came to see the Lord. Amen. And so

Jesus re established them into the ministry. And so based on that experience,

Peter held on to his witness of who Jesus is. On the day of

Pentecos. The Sunday of Pentacos, he stood and preached. He preached a

powerful message that got three thousand men to ask what shall we do? Then?

And after that God kept adding to the church daily. God kept adding

to the church because of a revelation someone had had about Jesus. Amen.

And so when Jesus asked, who do men say that I am in matthterestics

days, he had the answer because he had a revelation of who Jesus is,

and he maintained his witness, He maintained his conviction of who Jesus is.

That he died. They killed him. They asked him to deny Jesus.

He said, God forbid, I can't deny Jesus. Not with all

that I've seen, not with all that I've tasted, not with all that

my hands have handled, I cannot deny him. So they killed him.

He became a mater. Amen, who is Jesus to you? Will you

have such a revelation about him that you can stand your ground and say,

come hell or high water, I know this Jesus. You see the four

Hebrew boys that nuc put in in the firing Faenas. They had a revelation

of who God is. And when they were in the burning furnace, the

fourth Man appeared. They said, Nebucader, oh king, we are not

careful to answer you in this matter. We will not bow to your image

because we cannot bow to your image. And if our God doesn't show up

and you put us in there, we know that our God can save us.

And even if he doesn't save us, we will still not burn.

Can that one be your confession? It can only be your confession when you

have a revelation of who the Lord is? Amen. And so it's very

important that as children of God, we need to have a revelation of who

the Lord is. Who is the Lord to you? Who is the Lord

to you? A man Thomas, Reverend Thomas, also had the revelation of

who the Lord is. But you see, because he doubted, I said

on Sunday, I'm sure Thomas was a sign student, and so he needed

proof. He needed facts about Jesus' resurrection. So he wasn't going to run

on here say. He wanted to see Philly, Philly in order to believe.

So Jesus appeared and said to him, this is my hand, this

is the imprint of the nail, this is my side and Thomas, after

seeing Jesus physically, he came to a revelation of Jesus being both Lord and

God. Jesus being both Lord and God. In John chapter twenty Versus twenty

eight. He said, my Lord and my God, My Lord and my

God. He came to that revelation. Amen. For many people, they

need to see Jesus physically before they come to a revelation. But blessed are

those, according to Jesus words, who have not seen by yet belief.

Amen. Apostle Paul was also a man who wrote a witness about Jesus,

because he also had a revelation about Jesus. And you say. His name

was Saul, soul of Tasus, and he was a persecutor of the church,

and he encountered Jesus on his way to Damascus. At twelve midday he

encountered Jesus, a great light appeared to him, and he changed his identity

changed from that day, he refused he wasn't he wasn't Soul of tass anymore.

He became paw apostle Paul, and he went into Damascus for his eyes

to be opened by an eyes and then from there he was brought up in

the things of God, and quickly he was commissioned into ministry, and he

went about preaching the Gospel to the gentiles. And so for him he had

a witness of who Jesus is. We had a revelation of who Jesus is.

And tonight I just want to encourage you that God wants to have a

relationship with you. Jesus wants to have a relationship with you. Jesus wants

to reveal himself to you. Jesus wants to take you to the next level.

But until we get to a place of heaven revelation about who he is,

he cannot draw us in. So we need to put ourselves together,

go on a journey, a personal journey to know who the Lord is,

so that we can know him for who he is. Paul writes that Jesus

is the visible image of God. He's a visible image of God, the

visible image of God. So if you see Jesus, you have seen God.

Amen. He's a visible image of God. Jesus existed before creation.

Jesus existed before time. Jesus has the attributes of God because he is God.

Jesus is supreme over all creation. When you know who Jesus is,

your perception and your repons to issues in life will even be different. Amen.

Jesus is eternal. And you see in Revelations chapter twelve, verse eleven

that we read Bible says that they overcame him by the blood of the lamb

and by the word of their testimony. In First John chapter five is ten,

the Bible tells us what the testimony is. He says that this is

the testimony that God has given to us. He has given us eternal life,

and this life is in his son Jesus. That he who has the

Son has life, and he who does not have the Son does not have

life. Amen. And so when you have Jesus, you have life.

And when you come to a place of having revelation about who He is,

then your identity changes, and then you begin to move into a place where

God can give you authority in His kingdom. Amen. And so tonight,

this is all I just want to share with you, and I want to

encourage you that Jesus is waiting to have convenion with you. Jesus is waiting

for you to request and invite him to walk into your room. Jesus is

waiting to reveal himself to you, and if you can be endest in your

pursuit to seek him in spirit and in truth, then he will reveal himself

to you. And you have a new identity as a child of God.

Amen and Amen. Amen. So I see a hard now, Heriel.

You have a question or you have a God has given you a revelation you

want to share with us. Amen. Amen, and so with thank God.

Father, bless your word tonight and let it stay in the hearts of

your children. Reveal yourself to us, Lord Jesus, grant us encounters to

know who you are, as you have done in time past, and help

us to walk with you in spirit and in truth and in full revelation of

who you are in Jesus' precious name, a man
