Over the period we've been talking about the Great Commandments.
-
And I remember past that we were starting with us
-
and talking to us about the Great Commandments, which is
-
loving God, loving God. And I remember the scripture reference
-
it gave us match chapter twenty six, verse thirty six
-
to forty loving God. And last week I continued by
-
sharing with you some of the signs that show that
-
you love God. Because I said, I'm going to church.
-
That does not mean you love God. Paying your tithe
-
does not mean.
-
You love God.
-
Praying in church does no mean you love efact, I fact,
-
give it a free and giving to support the projects
-
of the church does not mean you love God.
-
Like this ye has impact. You can't decide that you
-
want to come and give.
-
Our Father twenty billion dollars.
-
It doesnt still mean you love God. It does still
-
mean you love God.
-
So loving God, there are so many things that show
-
that you love God. And last week I remember sharing
-
with you one of the signs that shows that you
-
love God, and I said that laughing your neighbor, it's
-
one of the signs that show that you love God.
-
And the scripture I gave us mad two twenty six,
-
there's thirty eight there's thirty eight.
-
The statuy says that love your neighbor as yourself. Today,
-
I want to move into.
-
Another sign, And the sign you want to talk about
-
today is that if you love God, you obey him.
-
So you can title it obedience to God, so that
-
after after I finished preaching, when we are doing discussion,
-
we will not have three different topics or titles obedience
-
to God.
-
So, if you love God, you obey God. Amen.
-
Now it's obedience is a very I've come to understand
-
that obedience is a very great sacrifice. To obey somebody
-
is a very great sacrifice.
-
It's a sacrifice.
-
Last week I was telling you that anytime you read
-
the Bible and you come across do it means that
-
by default it is it is something you will not do.
-
By default is something that is not easy to be done.
-
So when you see do love your neighbor, do this,
-
do that, it means that it is very difficult to do.
-
And I said that when you see it, don't do it,
-
don't do be don't puny it. Don't Still it means
-
that it is very easy to puny it. One of
-
the easiest thing to do is to sing saying is
-
very easy to do, but loving God is very difficult. Yeah,
-
and this are some of the realities that a lot
-
of times past. There's like me, we are able to
-
tell you, But I've decided I look me. I'll tell
-
people the reality so that you can save God well
-
and self God genuinely.
-
Amen.
-
Let me tell you a story. There was a very
-
poor man who sat by the wayside begging for money.
-
He's been begging for years, and one day a rich man.
-
Drove past him in his Mercedes Base. So he got
-
close to this man and he asked him, why are
-
you The man said, I'm begging for money.
-
Do you have anything to give me?
-
And the man realized, I know you see it is
-
not good enough to give him just money.
-
Let me give him something else.
-
So the man drove away, went to buy bread scoop
-
the middle of the break and put in the bread
-
a little bar of gold. A little brought it to
-
this poor man who was begging by the wayside, and
-
gave it to me and said, take it.
-
And it is I'll come back tomorrow. The guy took
-
the bread, he didn't know that was good in it,
-
put it by inside contin baking can't pegging cant pegging.
-
So, I mean he wanted money, but I didn't know
-
that he has been giving something so precious than the money.
-
He needed something that could give him money and give
-
him properties.
-
He didn't know. So while he was.
-
Begging, another man came by and he decided to sell
-
their bread. So he told this man about have some
-
bread that I didn't want to buy it, and give
-
me some five cities. He said, yes, yes, yes, yes.
-
They gave him five city and then he gave their
-
breath to the money. The man went fromping the bread
-
and realized that there was bar of cold in the bread.
-
The following day, this rich man came back again and
-
saw that this one man is still sitting by the wayside.
-
What was he to do?
-
Begging for money?
-
Begging?
-
Then this rich man was the former, did you eat
-
the bread I gave you yesterday? He said, oh, I
-
had it. It's not a better bread. Are you sure
-
you at the bread that my drinking?
-
It was very nice, It was nice. The demand said no, no, no,
-
if you're at the bread, you're not come here today.
-
You didn't eat the bread, you know what, I'll give
-
you another bread. So he went to buy another bread
-
and this time round, puts in the bread a little
-
bigger than the firs God today, and brought.
-
It to this poor again. This foreman didn't eat the bread.
-
He put the bread. They didn't know what was in
-
the breadth.
-
But the guy who came to buy the bread the
-
previous day came. They said, be awesome bread today, and
-
he gave the breath to you, and he gave me
-
five and he left the cat in this Richmond came
-
again and said, ah, Tamine.
-
Are you sure I at the bread? This all this
-
time around, I felt that they was sitting horney in
-
the bread. Mm hmm, I had it. It was nice.
-
And the reason said no, no, no, no, no no,
-
no no no no, you are not eating the bread.
-
If you act all eating.
-
The bread, you'll not be here. You will not be here.
-
And you see, the poor man didn't understand why this
-
Richmond was telling you'll not be here. I did so
-
if I was the poor man, the next time the
-
bread is put, our curiosity kills the cat. I'll just
-
open it and just see what it is and try
-
and eat half of it or something. So I was like, Okay,
-
I don't worry. I'll get to another bread so he
-
went bought bread, and this time I'm put in the
-
bread the biggest bar of gold and brought it to him.
-
When he brought it to him, as usual, the man
-
didn't the bread. Then this guy came back again. He said, charmer,
-
do you ask on bread today?
-
Some bread?
-
And he gave the bread to him this time around.
-
Because the guy knew what he was getting. He gave
-
him twenty cities and they left.
-
You.
-
You see, I said, ah, why oh, but this is
-
how we behave, This is how we behave.
-
The rest one cam man, he said, you didn't eat
-
the bread.
-
Let me tell you. The first time I brought you
-
the bread, I put in the bread and the power
-
of gold. The second time I put in it cold.
-
The third time I put in it cold. By it
-
was too late.
-
It was too late. It was too late. It was
-
too late.
-
What are we talking about here? Or BDS to God,
-
PDS to a lot of times we come to Churche.
-
We hear the word of God, but unfortnately for us.
-
We are not able to obey the word of God.
-
We here, Oh Father, help us to be doers of
-
the ware. They're not hearings of the.
-
Web yet to hear the word go back home and
-
do the opposite of the web.
-
Like this poor man.
-
We don't eat the break, but yet we behave as
-
if we're eating the bread. Some of us will look
-
at your fence. You look, I get Christian, yet you are.
-
Not a Christian. It's amazing how times you look at
-
people and you see them as Christians, but in real
-
life they're no Christians.
-
Were what we're supposed to follow, we are not following it.
-
John fourteen fifteen, John chapter fourteen, verse fifteen. John chapter fourteen,
-
verse fifteen. Look at what John forteen fifteen. Sis, look
-
at it. If you love me, keep my commandment is
-
the English version. If he will tell you that you
-
if you love me, you obey you.
-
Baby. It's very difficult for us. It will be a god.
-
But let me tell you something. Obedience and you can
-
write it down. Obinions is the greatst sacrifice which yields
-
good results or positive results and rewards. Obedience is a
-
great sacrifice or the great sacrifice which yields positive results
-
and rewards. Life is all about obedience. Everything in life
-
is all about obedience. God is talking every day. Let
-
me ask you, ah, God, I'm talking to you that. Look,
-
you have to a Sapardi role. You have to take
-
up maybe a role in the department. You have to
-
take up another role. You have to give the pastor this,
-
you have to do that, do this to somebody, give somebody.
-
This, and you are see you're not able to do
-
it because it's not an easy thing. Write this down.
-
In obedience, you do things not in your convenience.
-
In your obedience or in obedience, you would do things
-
not inconvenience.
-
So is it obeying? Mirror Webster defies obedience to be.
-
Submitted and that another person's authority or complying with laws
-
or regulations.
-
That's what she says.
-
Obedience is submitting to somebody's authority or complying to loss. Look,
-
you will never be convenient when you want to obey people,
-
when you want to obey God.
-
God will not give you an instruction which is easy.
-
It to always inconvenience you two always too, always inconvenient.
-
Whether I like you or not, it to inconvenience you.
-
It's inconvenient.
-
A lot of times, I.
-
Mean some of us say, there you are, we're talking
-
a lot. Mammy will tell you to go and do something.
-
Mammy Andy, I can't do this thing. Why it's so
-
difficult for me? And do you think Mammy will give
-
you something which is easy to do. Mommy wants you
-
to becoming Mammy tomorrow. And for you to becoming Mommy tomorrow,
-
you need to do what Mammy did to become amy.
-
You need to take up your assignment she took up.
-
So when Mammy gives you an assignment, you don't sit
-
down and say, hi, Mommy, I do I don't know
-
this and you're this.
-
That was what you were doing today. We are not
-
doing this thing.
-
Yeah, obedience, obedience to God. Obedience to God. Write this
-
statement down. I'm just going first because we need to
-
Hira A Pews write this thing down. Partial obedience.
-
Or delayed obedience, it's disobedience, obeying something partially and partially.
-
It's not obedience.
-
Delay Your obedience to an authority is also not obedience.
-
It's disobedient. This disobedience. So Mammy tells you that, he
-
tells you, go and watch your car.
-
I'm coming. Then, don't go and wash it. Mammy tells
-
you go and watch your car.
-
Ll that.
-
He tells who watch your car? At seven?
-
You don't watch the car at seven because you were
-
watching maybe some some series. You don't watch your cat
-
at seven. You decide to watch your car at night.
-
Even though you have washed your car, you are still
-
not obeyed.
-
And a lot of times that is we are Christians.
-
We fall shots.
-
We feel that we are doing things for God, but
-
in actual sense we are disobeying God. First, I watch
-
after fifteen, and I'm sure this will be my last
-
great child, and then I'll close. First, I watch after fifteen.
-
We gonna start from this one first, and watch after fifteen.
-
From this one, I want to give you an example
-
of someone who bashially obeyed God. And you hear what
-
someone told the person, profess someone to the person. Then
-
the philistines to.
-
The ark of God.
-
Yes, someone said to Saul, the Lord sent me to
-
un knowing to kid over his people over Israel. Now,
-
therefore heid to his voice. In other words, obey the
-
voice of Gods to work with me quickly. Best two
-
that says a lot of us. I will punish Ama Leak.
-
For what he did to Israel.
-
No God sends salt in Saul to go to the
-
Amalakites and go and destroy everything. Where read that scripture,
-
God commanded them to go and destroy everything, destroy their husbands,
-
their wives, their livestock, everything. They shouldn't take anything with them.
-
They shouldn't take anything. They should destroy everything. Now Saul
-
went to the battle. They killed what they can't kill,
-
and saw who had received.
-
An instruction from God.
-
Took the best of the ship, the best of the round,
-
and add that to rate the king of the Amlakis,
-
and brought them to Israel.
-
Brought them Why did he bring them?
-
He brought them to Tom to use them as every
-
day that I have killed everybody to a pointer, if
-
even catched the king.
-
And this is the king, this is the king.
-
But this is when you go to verse twenty of
-
the same chapter. Go there, go the verse twenty of
-
the same chapter. First somewhere fifteen twenty to go to
-
the twenty. And saw said to someone, but I forbeard
-
the voice of God. But I have obeyed the voice
-
of the Lord and gone on the mission on which
-
the Lord sent me, and brought back a god king
-
of Amlek.
-
I have utally destroyed the amelek Rites continue of a
-
suity one.
-
But the people took off the plunder ship and oxen
-
and the best of the things which should have been
-
utterally destroyed to sacrifice.
-
To the Lord.
-
The Lord said destroy them, don't bring any of them,
-
and said, it's a sacrifice to God.
-
And look at what he said. So someone said, has the.
-
Lord has great delight in birds, offers and sacrifices, as
-
in obeying the voice of God. God, just don't delight
-
in sacrifices. God delights in your obedience to him. Then
-
he said, behold, to obey is better than words. To
-
obey is what.
-
Could it be?
-
Or could it be that some of us here we
-
are sacrificing, yet we are not obeying. And it's possible
-
you can be in proto kore or it can be
-
a shepherd mean while God is not calling to be
-
a shepherd.
-
And you'll be a shepherd all your life, and at
-
the end.
-
Of the day you'll go to heaven and God will
-
tell I didn't call you as a shepherd.
-
I called you rather to be in to be part
-
of sound. Hello, and the church is quiet.
-
One of the things I always prave to God for
-
that God help me make the right decisions every day, because.
-
Even though God has called me a bastard.
-
It could be that today I was just supposed to
-
go to pree to one passage somewhere. But I'm standing
-
here preaching to multitude.
-
Is it looking nice? It's nice.
-
I'm not fulfilling the work of God, yes, but is
-
that what God wants me to do today? That is
-
why I said, Christian, one of the things you cannot
-
fail to do, you cannot fail to know the voice
-
of God.
-
So when you're a Christian, your desire every day should
-
be good. I want to know your voice for God
-
to speak to you so that you know, for it's
-
not an easy thing to do. It takes time. In
-
the presence of God.
-
Someone will say me, I don't want to be part
-
of protocol. I want to be part of the choir
-
because the way they dress their.
-
Uniform is nice.
-
So I want to so so and come and stand
-
there and showcuss my address, siven the cards talking to
-
you to be a protocol.
-
In protocol they have sided to be once in the choir.
-
And that is where we are today.
-
Unfordately, to the everybody wants to have a church, a
-
mega church, one million pposited, two thousand people, city, five
-
thousand posited, and we keep saying that he has God
-
is saving everybody. So your check must be big. It's
-
good that your checkmates today. But let me tell you something.
-
Success is not coincident. In the writing, success is not coincident.
-
Success is an intense nowhee, success, it's not a coincident.
-
Success is not It doesn't happen by chance. Success is
-
by following structures and system intentionally following and obeying. There
-
are so many principles in the Bible. I don't need
-
to mention that because it's almost time, so many principles.
-
I pray that next week and will take this again
-
and will have some time to enter into.
-
It very well. Yeah, success is no quincident. It is
-
an intentional thing. Intentionality is important when you want to
-
be successful. You need to obey in structions.
-
To be instructions, you need to obey.
-
A brom. We all know of.
-
My brom received an instation from God, go and kill
-
your son Isaac. How many of us I can lift
-
up my hands and say me, I can't go and
-
kill my son God, German?
-
Can you kill your son somebody that you you cry
-
for for years until you are ninety that the baby came.
-
You're going to kill that baby? You said?
-
I told you something in obedience. She will not do
-
things in your own convenience. It will surely inconvenience.
-
You kill the baby. Kill the baby, kill the baby.
-
Went to kill the baby to.
-
Isaac, and understand, Isaac was not a baby like you
-
know Isaac's baby.
-
Isaac was not the baby.
-
Isaac was the one who carried the firewood that was
-
meant to use as the band of free And when
-
you even killing go to your home, you don't use
-
two sticks of fire, would use bunch, use the whole
-
bunch fireut So to to burn a human being, you
-
need a lot, and Isaac carried it. Can't ave you,
-
old boy carry such a look of food. So Isaac goes,
-
not a small boy, so looking at somebody like this
-
that you are fed invested in, ta take care of
-
and lead him to the slaughter to put the knife
-
in his truth. Do you think it's an easy thing.
-
It's not easy yet, Isaac went, Sarah was going.
-
To kill it.
-
I love me tell you something, anytime the Lord gives
-
you an instruction, it is because the Lord knows that
-
you can't do it.
-
Write it down.
-
Any time God gives you an instruction, it is because
-
the Lord knows that.
-
You can't do it.
-
You can't do it. And that's one o my two.
-
Anytime God gives an instruction, know that he has made
-
a provision for it.
-
So even though God knew that Abram can kill his
-
own son Isaac.
-
God still made the provision and gave him Around Genesis
-
chapter twe it obedios is important in life. You were created,
-
that you were made by a God, by the Supreme God.
-
You cannot live your life anyway. Every life has an instruction,
-
a manual. When you went to buy your phone, the iPhone,
-
you need to.
-
See a manual in the box.
-
Some of you are leading buy the one you went
-
to buy something by the wayside, you went to swap.
-
You went to swap by. When you buy.
-
Correct purchasing with box and everything, there's always a manual
-
in the box. An electronic car you had to buy,
-
there is a manual even in recent times. Perfume, when
-
you buy an original perfume, some of them have some
-
manual in it. I went to a perfume shop and
-
I was going to check perfuse. I saw this perfume.
-
When I opened the box, there was a manual in
-
it how to use the perform my perform there s
-
a history. Yeah, we just ram but there's a manual
-
in it. Keep it away from fire? Do this when
-
I say, hey, don't keep it dime from fire. And
-
if I spray myself then I have to always be
-
away from fire, and then I have to But.
-
That is it.
-
That is.
-
You have to follow the distraction. To get the maximum
-
use of the products you have brought, you need to
-
compay the distraction. How come for us we are unable
-
to obey the manual that God has given us to
-
run our life.
-
Even a car has manual. The car I drive on
-
die there's a very fat manual in the car, very
-
fat manual like A tells me.
-
It looks old when I've been six twenty two three model.
-
But there's a manual attached to the car. Very just
-
in my it's in my shelf, my busshelf is there
-
man noir will die. And when the opening it tells
-
you what this is, what that is? When you see
-
this is what it means. Because we are not even
-
reading that the nor man, man, nor God has given
-
us the Bible. We we don't know what our life
-
should look like. And we are following at that things
-
following this, going here, following it. Look, success is not
-
in the abandance of wealth. Hello, success is not in
-
the abandance of what. Success can only be defined by God.
-
And what is success.
-
Success is obeyed and following the purpose of God before
-
your life.
-
That is success.
-
Having money, yes, it's an indication that you're successful, but
-
it is no success.
-
You can have money, but every day you'll be going
-
to the hospital.
-
I don't know a lot of money in my account,
-
but what does God also bless me with health. I
-
don't go to the hospital to spend money. I don't
-
waste money on so many things, things that will come
-
to me as ad costs. I don't see those things.
-
But somebody they may have the money, but every day
-
they are worried, because why every day somebody's at the hospitals.
-
They are child is suffering from Holy not they are.
-
This is suffering from that. This is suffering and that
-
is what is happening. So success, it is not in
-
the abandance of the things you have. But success is
-
in the fulfillment of the purpose of God for your life.
-
In other ways, success is obedience to cause well, This
-
obedience to couse with people of God. We need to
-
be very very very obedient to God, to be media
-
to God. It's not how we work, how we look
-
our main aid should people pay God?
-
Obeying God?
-
Obeying God is simple. Say just seven, start at seven.
-
Almost ninety of us came after seven o'clock. Sam iveyn,
-
I'm coming nine, and you tell me you came for
-
fair service, and then you close at ninth thirty?
-
Did you come to church? Can we ask them a question?
-
Did they actually come to church? Just start at seven?
-
You have come here at eight? Daty tell me to twenty,
-
just one and go. Then you weren't.
-
Magognized that you are Christian. You have even been baptized.
-
You know God, you know how to coach chest. And
-
you're happy saying that I'm at Christian. Yet you came
-
to church at night. You're living at ninth, daddy, won't
-
Church is starting at seven?
-
You see? You see?
-
And God sits on this through and look at us
-
and say, look at them. They're not serious even the
-
time that they have set for themselves. They cannot obey
-
their own time.
-
They can't. Then what dost can they will be? What
-
dose can they will be?
-
No?
-
Look lift up your hunstand and say God help me.
-
Some people are shy, sample are feeling very bad. That
-
is even today you realize that child child a child
-
your Christianity and some weak some have covered their face.
-
Don't come by office. Else is to look like I'm
-
talking to you. Look at me, look at me.
-
That's it.
-
Yeah, serving web by night.
-
We are where your boyfriend calls you that we are
-
meeting at at six o'clock PM. You don't wait for
-
everyness six o'clock at five that day you are dead.
-
You are dead.
-
Having that before at five that they will be there.
-
And are you coming, say I'm coming, give me school
-
two minutes. Don't be late. The time is six o'clock.
-
But for church were always late. You are no leg
-
to go to school. Are you coming to church? And
-
these are some of the things.
-
Somebody that h.
-
Let God help us, Let God help us, Let God
-
help us. You said, we cannot go far. And next
-
year he said, church that is focused on building leaders
-
for the next generation, we cannot go far. If our
-
bidy is to simple things like this, it's becoming difficult.
-
We cannot go far. Right to your feet, Right to
-
your feet. Somebody said, any time I come to church, passages.
-
You always make me feel bad though, telling me, telling
-
me what I've been doing. Yes, that's what church is
-
all about. Church is supposed to point your wrongs to
-
you and let you know the right things to sow
-
together that we can all go to heaven.
-
Is I noted?
-
Left up your hands and begin to pray that God
-
help me, God help me, God help me. Left up
-
the voice, pray that God helped me in the name
-
of Jesus, and that this say at poste. Yeah, yeah,
-
you want to say that, Pasta, I want to really
-
give my life to Christ. I've had, I've had, I've had,
-
I've heard about Christ, but I've not really given my
-
life to you. And this morning I want to take
-
the opportunity to give my life to you. But please
-
come forward and let me prove with you. There is
-
no time. Yesterday somebody died the best. They had an
-
opportunity to give their life to Christ. They change, but
-
they didn't. They left and they died. You are Yeah,
-
I want to say a past I don't really have
