December 7 - Romans 5:13

Merry Christmas, Christ has come. During this week of Advent and Northland Church, we're celebrating Hope mentioned more than 100 times in the Bible. The hope that is ours because of Christ through Christ alone. This is my prayer for us, whether this is a season of celebration and joy or a season of grief and loss, and it's found in Romans 1513. Now may the god of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Paul has written this letter to the church at Rome. He has explained the gospel and given them specific instructions on how to live out their faith in their daily life, the daily grind of conduct, choices, and conversation. He ends with this prayer, benediction, and blessing. He reminds them and reminds us. The source of hope is God. The sovereign one who is the same, yesterday, today, and forever, and will not fail or abandon us. Trusting him leads to joy and peace when I cast every care on him and remember that he cares for me. This joy and peace, and overflowing hope are ours by the power of the Holy Spirit, who lives in us, and is always at work on our behalf.
