December 12 - Ephesians 2:14

Hi, I'm Dan Rorabaugh. When, uh, the opportunity to, to write about peace, I thought about starting churches in Tanzania, where we spent 33 years, and the people were, people groups were moved together forcibly by the government, and so we were starting churches among peoples that were traditional enemies. And when I found out about totem, which is a common thread that all Tanzanians have, but they all have different totems, it reminded me that in the story that in Ephesians that were studying, they all had different background. And by finding us out, and being able to apply it to the churches, we were able to build churches of multiple ethnic groups that got along because we all had a commonality. In the United States, we all come from different backgrounds also. And it's important that we realize that we have a commonality in the Lord Jesus, and that he makes all of us his adopted sons and daughters. Jesus is God's only begotten son, but we are his adopted sons and daughters. Therefore, we need to treat each other that way. And this verse gave an excellent opportunity to remind us that we all have peace, as we recognize our kinship, to gather as believers.
