Discernment: Knowing God’s Voice in a Noisy World | Discipleship Series

[SPEAKER_05]: Welcome back to the Discipleship series with me and Pastor Elwood.

[SPEAKER_05]: Today we're going to be talking about something that let me tell you, every Christian has to have disarm it.

[SPEAKER_05]: Do you have disarm it?

[SPEAKER_05]: Do you know what disarm it even is?

[SPEAKER_05]: That's what we're going to be talking about today.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely, every Christian needs it every Christian needs it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I like what Saul Spurgeon said He said the sermon is not knowing the difference between right and wrong The sermon it's knowing the difference between right and I'm most right.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh

[SPEAKER_00]: that is so good of what he said about that.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, what's almost right.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a halfway truth.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've heard of a halfway truth.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what Charles Spurgeon was talking about that.

[SPEAKER_00]: We need to do the difference between right and a halfway truth.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when you know that, it won't be easily for you to be deceived.

[SPEAKER_05]: The sermon is very key, very vital to every Christian.

[SPEAKER_05]: That is what leads you and guides you and shows you right from wrong.

[SPEAKER_05]: And just like our father, he gave us a gift of discernment.

[SPEAKER_05]: And as a father does, he wants to lead you and guide you and make sure all is well with you that you're going on the right path.

[SPEAKER_05]: And so that's why we have discernment.

[SPEAKER_05]: For those times where you have to know something and it leads you and guides you.

[SPEAKER_05]: And that's the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit leads you, guide you and shows you right from wrong.

[SPEAKER_05]: and you have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, then you have the gift of the Holy Spirit.

[SPEAKER_05]: The Holy Spirit comes upon and leads you and guides you.

[SPEAKER_05]: Now, I want to be very clear that you can grieve the Holy Spirit.

[SPEAKER_03]: You can.

[SPEAKER_05]: Meaning you can live a life of sin where the Holy Spirit is on a bat burner on the back seat in your life.

[SPEAKER_05]: And then it's very hard to discern right from wrong because you have pushed the Holy Spirit back.

[SPEAKER_05]: And so grieving the Holy Spirit is really vital and key when it comes to having discernment and knowing how you have stronger discernment, it is to look at that, it is to look at your entire life and what you're doing and see if there's repentance that needs to happen.

[SPEAKER_05]: And whenever you get rid of those things that are not of God and those sins, then your discernment gets keen, your discernment gets sharp.

[SPEAKER_05]: And now another thing obviously for your discernment is going to be to read the Bible.

[SPEAKER_05]: When you read the Bible, it tells you right from wrong, it shows you good and evil, it shows you clip with clarity what the spiritual world looks like so that when you're living out here in this fleshly realm, you can also see the spiritual side of things, you can discern spirits.

[SPEAKER_05]: Now, I'm going to talk about that in this episode, but first, I'm going to let Elwood letter Rick Taterchip on some scripture and then I'm going to talk about discerning spirits.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the sermon is a gift from God, and I'd like to read out the 12th chapter of First Corinthians, the several passage of scriptures there, saying, now concern the spiritual gift, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know that you were Gentiles carried away until these dumb idols, even as you were led.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're for I gave you to understand that no man speaketh by the Spirit of God, call us Jesus a curse, and that no man can say that Jesus is a Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now these are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all and all.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to prophet wither.

[SPEAKER_00]: For to one is given by the Spirit of the Word of Wisdom, to another the Word of Knowledge, by the same Spirit, to another faith.

[SPEAKER_00]: by the same spirit, to another the gifts of healing, by the same spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, and to another discerning of the spirit, and to another dry, diverse kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongue.

[SPEAKER_00]: So this is gifts that we get from God, and you cannot get these gifts unless you've been born again, unless you're saved.

[SPEAKER_00]: I had a man tell me one time.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he said, I've got them all.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, I've got all the gifts.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I looked at him and I said, sir, I said, I hope you do.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I says, for me, I don't.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I know what I've got, and I know what I don't have.

[SPEAKER_00]: But, he was mighty boastful, wasn't it?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he was.

[SPEAKER_05]: He needs to be very proud of us.

[SPEAKER_00]: And, but these are gifts from God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: The sermon, I have wrote some things down, is the ability to distinguish between right and wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: true simple to make why spiritually or sound decisions.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if you go back to second kings, we find all the way back in there as second kings, a man named Solomon.

[SPEAKER_00]: Solomon, when these two ladies, it was so bad that one of them was going to kill their son one day.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's a rough one.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the other one was going to kill their son the next day so they could survive.

[SPEAKER_00]: and the lady woke up one night and her child had died.

[SPEAKER_00]: So she switched the babies.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so Solomon said, uh, as the Lord said, give that I say up servant and understand in heart to just are people that I made a surm between good and bad.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so when they brought these before Solomon, Solomon in all of his wisdom as God just blessed him because he didn't ask for riches, asked for a long life.

[SPEAKER_00]: He just asked to be able to judge his people rightly.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when they brought these two women before him, and they was talking about the dead baby and the live baby, and Solomon in his wisdom said to bring the child that is a lot before him, let's take the sword.

[SPEAKER_00]: could he meant to and give each one of them a half half of that child and so when one lady spoke up and she said give that other lady the child that it may live Solomon knew in his wisdom by discerning what was taking place that he knew who the mother was of that child and we need that kind of discernment this day and time as well because I'll tell you what there was a half truth there

[SPEAKER_00]: There it was.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was a half-truth there, but Solomon had the discernment to get to the real truth.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's exactly what we need this day and time as well, because there's many deceptions after every place you turn.

[SPEAKER_00]: And these gifts come from God.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I know that people think, well, we see people healed in the baptism, some things like this, and discernment, and

[SPEAKER_00]: What is this a deliverance and things like that in miracles taking place?

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not by us.

[SPEAKER_00]: It happened.

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's by Jesus Christ and the faith that these people has that they come into the water with the baptizers and things.

[SPEAKER_00]: So if Jesus working through the baptizers, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: As they speak life into them, because Bible plainly says, we said it so often, we have the power of life and the power of death lies within our tongue.

[SPEAKER_00]: So when we speak life into these people that has been broken and trotted and downtrodded and just given up for dead, I guess what you might say, then they're faith.

[SPEAKER_00]: in Christ with air faith that they meet, then all of a sudden when they collide, something has to take place.

[SPEAKER_00]: It has to take place.

[SPEAKER_00]: So man, I'll tell you what Solomon was a wise man by doing what he did for them ladies.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I thought there's a beautiful story though.

[SPEAKER_00]: How gross it is, it really is that two mothers would want to take their child's life and eat them so that they could live.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's terrible.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it is.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it is.

[SPEAKER_05]: terrible.

[SPEAKER_05]: So when it comes to discernment, um, I want to talk about now discerning spirits because obviously we live in our flesh right now, but this is a spiritual realm.

[SPEAKER_05]: There is a spirituality mindset that you gotta have to be able to see past the flesh.

[SPEAKER_05]: And so when you look at a person, you're not just looking at their flesh, you need to look at their spirit.

[SPEAKER_05]: You need to be able to discern not only their spirit, but to test the other spirits, to see if they have something attached to them, to discern spirits that are demonic.

[SPEAKER_05]: And so I want to go in depth and dive on that one because this one's pretty big.

[SPEAKER_05]: Obviously, demons are real, and I know that it's wild to me that churches and Christians don't believe that when it's literally half the Bible.

[SPEAKER_05]: The Bible speaks of demons so much so that Jesus, his main thing he did while he was here was cast out demons, heal the sick, and preach.

[SPEAKER_05]: Those were his things that he showed us in commission dust as well to do.

[SPEAKER_05]: Demons are still here, and it is still up to us to be able to discern those spirits with the teachings that Jesus gave us.

[SPEAKER_05]: He gave us this whole Bible, this God-breathed word, so that we could learn from it, so that we could see into the spiritual realm and discern the spirits just like he does, just like he's taught us to do.

[SPEAKER_05]: And so when it comes to discerning spirits, you will know you will see characteristics and things of spirits like anger, or lust, or...

[SPEAKER_05]: You know, whatever it may be, there could be a whole lot of stuff actually.

[SPEAKER_05]: If it goes against God, if it's not good, if it's not pure, then more than likely a stemonic.

[SPEAKER_05]: There's a lot of things in this world that like Elwood was speaking about is half-truths.

[SPEAKER_05]: It will be something presented to you that seems good, but you know, with discernment, that it's not.

[SPEAKER_05]: And the thing is, if you don't have your discernment, or if you don't listen to it, then you're going to be let astray.

[SPEAKER_05]: Then the devil is going to be able to have his way.

[SPEAKER_05]: And so that's why it's so important to know these things and to discern spirits.

[SPEAKER_05]: I'll give you some examples here, if I'm around somebody and I can tell that they have demons.

[SPEAKER_05]: If they're around me and they're starting to show some sort of pride or anger or anything that's going to result to them manifesting in front of me, I got a few choices.

[SPEAKER_05]: Number one, I want to cast that thing out because Jesus gave us power and authority in his name.

[SPEAKER_05]: And I know how to do those things.

[SPEAKER_05]: But if you are not experiencing deliverance and you never cast out a demon, then I wouldn't suggest you just go to Walmart and start casting them out.

[SPEAKER_05]: Because the problem is going to arise where someone's not going to be ready, and it's just like the Bible says, where if you cast out a demon, and that demon leaves, and the house is unkept and unswept, and the Holy Spirit's not filled in that person, then the demon's going to come back and bring seven more friends.

[SPEAKER_05]: And it's true.

[SPEAKER_05]: This happens.

[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, there's people that get delivered and they don't fill themselves with the Holy Spirit.

[SPEAKER_05]: They don't care anything about filling themselves with the light at all.

[SPEAKER_05]: And they go right back to the darkness.

[SPEAKER_05]: And so it's important to have discernment.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's important as a Christian, especially a mature one that's going to cast out demons to know these things.

[SPEAKER_05]: You can't just go and start casting out demons of everybody.

[SPEAKER_05]: Jesus was showing the disciples.

[SPEAKER_05]: He was showing them and teaching them how to cast out demons.

[SPEAKER_05]: as he walked with him and you'll see that he didn't just immediately say all right this is how you do it go do it he they walked with him for a while they seen hit their rabbi their teacher and they learned from him so then when he said them out to about two then they were able to cast out demons yeah

[SPEAKER_05]: Now, I say all that because, like I said, there's some more options that you have when you come in contact with demons.

[SPEAKER_05]: You know, obviously we have to not a spirit of fear, but of love power and a sound, mind, that's what the Bible says.

[SPEAKER_05]: So we are not scared of demons, not at all.

[SPEAKER_05]: As a Christian, we are filled with a light of the Lord, and we cannot be afraid of any darkness.

[SPEAKER_05]: However, there are some people that will try to push you, will try to cause you to stumble, will try to do everything they can to make you sin, and they will try to put their darkness on you.

[SPEAKER_05]: But the light always outshines the darkness.

[SPEAKER_05]: And so as a Christian, you know, like I said, more things that you could do here if you are in contact with a demon.

[SPEAKER_05]: You know, it's to get away, like get not just run away and fear, and nothing like that.

[SPEAKER_05]: But this associate with them, you know, make a clean cut right then and just decide, hey, you know, I'm not going to cast my pearls to swan.

[SPEAKER_05]: If you were going to stay in the darkness, and that's where I got to leave you.

[SPEAKER_05]: You know, I mean, we are always to try to help people to find the light.

[SPEAKER_05]: But if they blatantly have blasphemy or don't want anything to do with Jesus, then just as much as you were trying to change them, the demons trying to change you.

[SPEAKER_05]: The dark side and evil is in that person is going to try to change you just as much as you're trying to change them So it's very very very important that if you are around a demon to be able to discern that spirit and say All right, listen, I can't help you.

[SPEAKER_05]: You don't want help and therefore I'm a seetach.

[SPEAKER_05]: I'm a skit away from you And so that's de-escalation of of that so if you have any like I said if you don't cast a demon out then de-escalate the situation and get out

[SPEAKER_05]: And those are the ways that I pretty much handle it whenever I come in contact with people.

[SPEAKER_05]: You know, they have demons.

[SPEAKER_05]: I'll give them the choice.

[SPEAKER_05]: I'll say, hey, you know, you're acting really angry right now.

[SPEAKER_05]: Or hey, this isn't right.

[SPEAKER_05]: I'm feeling, you know, I don't feel good about this situation.

[SPEAKER_05]: Whatever's happening here.

[SPEAKER_05]: Can I pray for you?

[SPEAKER_05]: And if they won't let me pray for them and they don't want anything to do with what I have to offer, which is, you know, my hands to be placed on them and to help cast out demons and heal the sick and all the things that Jesus Christ gave us, the power and authority of.

[SPEAKER_05]: If they don't want anything to do with that, then, you know, that's nothing I can help.

[SPEAKER_05]: That is, you know.

[SPEAKER_05]: definitely I can plant the seed, but then it's detaching.

[SPEAKER_05]: So discerning spirits is so important in your walk because you are going to come in contact with demons, probably every day.

[SPEAKER_05]: You're going to come in contact with people that you're going to have to know how to discern those spirits and test them.

[SPEAKER_05]: Test them.

[SPEAKER_05]: See if they are good.

[SPEAKER_05]: The Bible says that test the spirits and see if they're good.

[SPEAKER_05]: If they're not good, have nothing to do with them.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's right, that's right.

[SPEAKER_00]: No Bible says in Psalm 119, 105, the word is a lamp and to my feet and a light unto my path.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: The word, you know, this holy word that God has given us, it will direct our path.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a lamp to it's where we walk.

[SPEAKER_00]: Proverbs also says trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lead not into that own understanding In all ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths in other words this verse is promoting the discernment

[SPEAKER_00]: you know, that they should do as a key aspect of a faithful life, you know, just like you talking about the demonic forces when we was in Tennessee, and a lady came into water, you could almost see this thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it was just, it was just right at her, and before we ever prayed over, she said, this devil is a killing me.

[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, and then we

[SPEAKER_05]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_00]: And she got about that water honey.

[SPEAKER_00]: She was happy and her two toe tick on her his handle.

[SPEAKER_00]: She went out that water rejoicing in the board.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Bethel is somebody saying that it's own people.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's just driving him crazy, you know.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just the money forces, this gives that God most to give us, and it is a gift.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so therefore we need to seek the gifts that God has for us.

[SPEAKER_00]: And there's a lot of it, I don't have, I'll be honest, I don't have.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have the gift of speaking in tongue.

[SPEAKER_00]: And somebody said, well, let me teach you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, you ain't teaching me nothing.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, if it's going to be done by this boy, it's going to be done by God.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_00]: If I never speak in tongues, then so be it.

[SPEAKER_00]: But it will not be by man trying to teach me how to do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that is just not, that is just not biblical.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so therefore, you know, and that's one of the things that you can discern right there.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, if God wants you to house something, he's going to give it to you.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_00]: He is going to give it to you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_05]: You know, something that's really wild.

[SPEAKER_05]: This is how I know that discernment is what God wanted us to speak on to you all.

[SPEAKER_05]: Because when we were trying to come up with what we were going to do, you know, some of the, some of the guys were doing this Bible study and two of what you already, the scriptures you've said, we literally have read in the past two days.

[SPEAKER_05]: in the past two days those were exactly where God guided us to those scriptures and Mikey and Luke and me and Boone we've been in that Bible study on both both ones that you just said the Proverbs and in the first one that you quoted first Corinthians

[SPEAKER_05]: The first Corinthians and the Proverbs, those two were two books of the Bible, so we literally read in the past two days.

[SPEAKER_05]: But what I'm saying is that just shows me that like, every bit of this is God guided, like he told us to speak on this, and it's because you need to hear it, whoever's listening to this, there's going to be somebody that will learn from this, benefit from this, and know how to discern spirits and have discernment themselves.

[SPEAKER_05]: I want to talk now about discernment with like you had said in the beginning, where you were talking about the falsehoods of things.

[SPEAKER_05]: You know, Satan comes as a deceiver like Satan was literally an angel and I think that people forget that with like the way that You know, Hollywood and TV shows have like painted a picture of the devil where he just like this You know, red character with horns like that's there's so many things that people are missing if they don't read the Bible and understand who who Satan is because the thing is like we know that he is evil

[SPEAKER_05]: But we also know that he was an angel, he's a fallen angel, and so when it comes to like deception of things, that's Satan, he's the great deceiver, he is a deceiver.

[SPEAKER_05]: And so you have to have discernment to know when you're being deceived and when you're not, discernment is vital for that, you have to have discernment to be able to see the laws from the truth.

[SPEAKER_05]: Now this world y'all.

[SPEAKER_05]: there is a lot happening in it.

[SPEAKER_05]: There is so much happening that is not true.

[SPEAKER_05]: Like there are some things that's painted in pictures that look real, but they're not.

[SPEAKER_05]: It is actually wild, the amount that like AI and stuff out there that really does look real and its fake is mind-blowing.

[SPEAKER_05]: Like it's actually,

[SPEAKER_05]: not scary because we don't have spirit fear.

[SPEAKER_05]: But anyways, it's while to look at the day and age that we live in and it's so biblical because we go back to the words, you know, such a long time ago where we see that Jesus was teaching us a long time ago how to have discernment for this day and age, for this day and time, so that we could test the spirits and know right from wrong.

[SPEAKER_05]: Now, when you see something, that's what you have to do.

[SPEAKER_05]: If you see it on the

[SPEAKER_05]: As the Lord is this real, is this true, and pray into it, let the Holy Spirit guide you to the truths.

[SPEAKER_05]: You know, the Bible gives us so much wisdom, you will know them by their fruit, you will know them by their truth, you will be able to look at them and see if their Holy Spirit field, if they're coming from a place of love, all these things are very evident.

[SPEAKER_05]: Now the opposite of that is Satan's work, and it's evident as well.

[SPEAKER_05]: When you look at things in a discerning eye, then you will see that, you will see greed, you will see in the jealousy, strife.

[SPEAKER_05]: bitterness, gossip, slander, all of those things are of Satan.

[SPEAKER_05]: They're not of God.

[SPEAKER_05]: God didn't tell us to do any of those things.

[SPEAKER_05]: Every bit of those things are of Satan.

[SPEAKER_05]: And so those things, like it's very evident when you discern things, when you see them and you're like, okay, this is wrong.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's not of God and this is right.

[SPEAKER_05]: It is of God.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's what discernment is.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's leading you and showing you and guiding you right from wrong.

[SPEAKER_05]: Just like a father does, a father wants the best for his children.

[SPEAKER_05]: He wants to make sure.

[SPEAKER_05]: that you know right from wrong.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's like the old stove analogy where you see a burner on the stove and like you know It's red.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's burning and like instincts.

[SPEAKER_05]: You're like, oh, I could just touch it and it'd be fun It's just a red color, but you know you have discernment.

[SPEAKER_05]: So you know, you know what I associate that with hot That means that's hot.

[SPEAKER_05]: If I touch that I'm going to be burned You know, this sermon is like that like you have to know when something's right and something's wrong And the Holy Spirit's going to guide you to that the Holy Spirit's going to give you those thoughts.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's like, you know What that's hot.

[SPEAKER_03]: Don't touch it

[SPEAKER_05]: it's up to you whether you listen to the Holy Spirit or whether you don't and let me tell you you don't want to get burned so it is very important to listen to your discernment, to listen when the Holy Spirit is guiding you because he will not lead you astray.

[SPEAKER_05]: He's trying to lead you into righteousness into what he has for you, not into anything wrong or bad so listen to your discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, first John 4 once said, beloved, believe not every spirit of a tribe of spirits, or that they are of God, because many false prophets are going out into the world.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so, how do we try the spirits?

[SPEAKER_00]: How do we try the spirits?

[SPEAKER_00]: The Bible said in 2nd Timothy, 15, says, studies, it's show that they have to prove onto God, a workman that need this not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so, therefore, you got to get

[SPEAKER_00]: If you're going to be able to discern half truth and truth from so many ministers or what there may be the case out there, you've got to get in the word of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: And as this old preacher told me one time, he said, he said, he said, now 95% of the church

[SPEAKER_00]: He said in there and said they're just like much chickens.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said what you're doing, you're preaching to him, you're throwing out the corn to him and they're just gobbling it up because they don't pick up their Bible through the week and read it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's a very reason.

[SPEAKER_00]: So many people have been deceived this day and time because they're not in their word.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're not studying their word and so if they don't study the word, they are prime candidates.

[SPEAKER_00]: to be seen.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you take the Jim Jones is a down the guy and a nine hundred and some people that drank the coolator, whatever it was, and they found all those dead, the David Corretches, and Waco Texas down there said he was, you know, Jesus, no, and found out that it was all false.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was all false.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so therefore stay in the world because

[SPEAKER_00]: As the Bible said, this is a word that is a lamp to your feet and a lot to our path.

[SPEAKER_00]: And therefore you won't get out of the path, you'll have a lamp to guide you along the way.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so therefore you won't be deceived, but if you don't stand a word, you're a prime candidate, you're a prime candidate for Satan to deceive you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't also like to read this.

[SPEAKER_00]: To try the Spirit to compare what is being taught with the clear teaching of the Word of God, testing the Spirit means that one must keep, must know how to examine the scriptures rather than accept each teaching.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Descerning Christians?

[SPEAKER_00]: Delaging study the Bible then they know what the Bible says and therefore can test or try All things and whole fast to what is true.

[SPEAKER_05]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know about some of you all But I've been in service before when the preacher said something and all the sudden red flag go up You know you've read this and it just didn't sound right.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's very something just wasn't right on this and so Therefore when you're staying at work

[SPEAKER_00]: Stay in that word.

[SPEAKER_00]: It'll help you to discern what is right and what is half truth.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you've got to stay in the word.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's just not a pick-up Bible on Sunday morning and read a few verses and go to church and lay it down for the next Sunday because it does not work that way.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you want the fullness of God,

[SPEAKER_00]: You will stay in it.

[SPEAKER_00]: The gifts of God is there for him to give and he is not going to give them to some have-hearted person that doesn't stay in his word.

[SPEAKER_00]: He will not.

[SPEAKER_00]: He will not.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so stay in the word and seek out that gift that God has for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe it's healing.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's weird.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's speaking in tongue.

[SPEAKER_00]: But if you will seek out

[SPEAKER_00]: that God will give, just exactly what you're looking for but you've got to stay in the Word.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_05]: That is right.

[SPEAKER_05]: It is very true.

[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, the Word is what God says, the Word is the truth.

[SPEAKER_05]: And whenever you know the truth, then you can see the lies very clearly.

[SPEAKER_05]: That is the good thing about discernment.

[SPEAKER_05]: When you know the truth, then it will set you free.

[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, it will literally guide you and lead you and not lead you astray.

[SPEAKER_05]: So it is very important to make sure you know your Word.

[SPEAKER_05]: And then you can measure all things up to that Word.

[SPEAKER_05]: But when it comes to discernment, it is really amazing to see that God has given us such a beautiful gift.

[SPEAKER_05]: And you know it is something that all Christians have.

[SPEAKER_05]: You do have discernment because if you don't have the gift of discernment then you don't know how to tell right from wrong and our father's not going to lead us astray.

[SPEAKER_05]: He has given you the gift of discernment.

[SPEAKER_05]: If you are a Christian then you know right from wrong.

[SPEAKER_05]: That is just the way it goes, the Holy Spirit will guide you and lead you.

[SPEAKER_05]: But it's up to you and how much you lean into that guiding.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's the difference.

[SPEAKER_05]: you will know right from wrong when you have the gift of the Holy Spirit, then you will know right from wrong, but it's like I said you got a lean into that discernment, you have to want to know more and you have to listen to it.

[SPEAKER_05]: So let's say if you do something wrong, right?

[SPEAKER_05]: You do something wrong and you know it's wrong and then afterwards you're like, man, I really shouldn't have done that.

[SPEAKER_05]: Well then you know that your discernment was right showing you that you shouldn't have done it, then you can repent.

[SPEAKER_05]: And then once you repent you just you don't commit that sin again and that is how we learn that's how we grow That is how you go from drinking milk as a babe to eating meat like a grown person Like this is literally how we have to learn and grow in Christ is as you read the word Then you get that discernment you have whatever happens in your life and you're like man I had discernment on that I kind of knew I was right there

[SPEAKER_05]: I kind of knew not to do that, well then next time you'll know for sure not to do that.

[SPEAKER_05]: And so leaning into that discernment and really listening and really learning from your past mistakes is really key to this too.

[SPEAKER_05]: Your discernment will teach you.

[SPEAKER_05]: It is not just that to use once in a while.

[SPEAKER_05]: It is for all the time, like all the time you use your discernment and it will lead you guide you and teach you.

[SPEAKER_05]: So that you can get closer to Jesus and do the things that are good instead of doing anything that's evil.

[SPEAKER_05]: We want to please our Father.

[SPEAKER_05]: We want to do what's right and so therefore your discernment is what's going to help you get there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_00]: Satan has come to wreak havoc in our life and our mind is a battlefield.

[SPEAKER_00]: and Paul warns us, Satan wants us throughout counterfeits, you know, it looks godly but it ain't god, you know, it sounds good but it's not good, it's almost like the apple, they gave you no white, you know, it looks good but inside of it it was deadly poison, Paul warns us in 2 Corinthians 11, 13, 15, for such a false apostles, the seatful workers

[SPEAKER_00]: and no marble for Satan himself is transformed into the angel of light.

[SPEAKER_00]: Therefore, it is no great thing of his ministers also, his ministers also, to be transformed as a minister of righteousness whose ends shall be according to their works.

[SPEAKER_00]: Satan can transform

[SPEAKER_00]: himself into a light that what people will believe that's, but if you have the spirit of discernment in your light, you know, you can discern what is half-truth and what is right and what's wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so therefore it's vital.

[SPEAKER_00]: I can't say it is vital for a Christian that's

[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, it's just because we're working against an adversary, is trying to take our life.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's trying to destroy our soul and pull it to, who are he's headed to, you know.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you've got to have your Bible and get your nose in that Bible and keep the fires burning in your heart of what God has given you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And therefore, when Satan does come, and he will come.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's no matter if it's just a matter of when he comes.

[SPEAKER_00]: He will come, and so therefore if you had a spirit of discernment, you can overcome this because greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you're more than more than conchers to be overcome this thing, so get some discernment in your life, get your nose in the Word of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: and therefore he'll lead you and all righteousness and you won't be deceived.

[SPEAKER_00]: You will not be deceived because you'll have the Word.

[SPEAKER_00]: In the beginning it was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so therefore when you put that Word in you,

[SPEAKER_00]: Then, therefore, it throws up a bear as Satan continues to try to push through.

[SPEAKER_00]: He can't do it because everything is that bear because you know the word, you know the truth.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he can't come in and take over your life.

[SPEAKER_00]: Destroy your life.

[SPEAKER_05]: You know, the more knowledgeable you are on Scripture, the more that you read, the more that you understand what God's given you, the more that you can see that it is not just your gut instincts.

[SPEAKER_05]: I know there's a lot of people that think, oh, it was my gut instinct, I was right.

[SPEAKER_05]: Mm-hmm.

[SPEAKER_05]: Learn that.

[SPEAKER_05]: Learn that is your discernment because that is a beautiful thing to know It is beautiful to know that is your discernment not just your gut instinct that the Lord Jesus Christ is guiding you and showing you right from wrong and so when you have those moments where you feel like something's not right And you're like, all right, this this just doesn't sit well with me with me

[SPEAKER_05]: Something's wrong with this.

[SPEAKER_05]: Then you need to lean into that and listen to it and your discernment will help you with that Whether it be something that you're fearful of and then it that sheds the light on it or whether it be something's wrong You need to know and that's why God guides us with discernment and so you know It's not your good instinct like I said it is discernment and to know that and to lean into that and to know how to strengthen that It's gonna be amazing key for you to use when you need it and so getting in that word and praying

[SPEAKER_05]: And just really, really, you know, leaning into the Lord and dying to self and going on a sanctification process of cleaning up your life, you know, getting rid of the sins that you're doing, things like that every bit of that's going to strengthen your discernment, every bit of that's going to make you know right from wrong even more.

[SPEAKER_05]: When you start listening to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, then you start really having keen discernment.

[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_05]: So, I pray that this lesson and what we're speaking and all this scripture penetrates your heart and I pray that it gives you even more keen discernment where you can go out and you can discern spirits and you can have discernment that is strong and you can be guided into righteousness and good living.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I believe every barn again believer has a measure of discernment in their life.

[SPEAKER_02]: They do.

[SPEAKER_00]: But once they get off of the milk, once they get off the milk and get into the meat, they get more and more understanding and more knowledge of what's going on and they have a better understanding of discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so when it comes to the gifts of discernment, the discernment spirit, I believe that every born, again, man and woman has a measure of that, just like they have a measure of faith, the more they get in the world, and more they get their life saturated in, and more they get into the meat, and that God will even give them more.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: of the gift of discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: But Paul, we'd need it.

[SPEAKER_00]: We need it this day and time.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm telling you what, we got people out there that's in the church world.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they don't have no idea.

[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, they have no discernment.

[SPEAKER_05]: Well, they have discernment.

[SPEAKER_05]: They just don't listen to it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: But it is, it's a sad situation, and as I said so much, Eric Church World is an absolute mess, and I said that in a revival over Manchester, and man, I got a response out of that, you know?

[SPEAKER_05]: You said it out of church too, didn't you?

[SPEAKER_00]: Eric Church, I said, Eric Church World is an absolute mess.

[SPEAKER_00]: Slip some people too, I'm telling you, and they all greet too, you know?

[SPEAKER_00]: It is, it really is.

[SPEAKER_00]: because just anything and every people will fall for almost anything.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't believe in something, you'll fall for anything.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I'll tell you what, we need the gift of discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: We need to get it into our life more and more eaten every day and get it stronger in our life.

[SPEAKER_00]: That we can be more bold with it.

[SPEAKER_00]: That we can look at somebody when they come at us with something and say, that's not right.

[SPEAKER_00]: That is not right.

[SPEAKER_00]: And, uh, rebuke them.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I know that's a hard thing for a lot of people do because they don't want to make ways.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm telling you what, there's got to be some things change and people's lives.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to get more bolder in the spirit of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, there's a lot of people wouldn't do what we do, going to the water and pray life that published people and help get them delivered through the blood of Jesus Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, as I'll through him, this is worse.

[SPEAKER_00]: But we need this spirit of discernment more and more, as I see it this day in time than ever before in my life.

[SPEAKER_05]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_05]: I believe it.

[SPEAKER_05]: You know the church world people think we harp on the church and it's like we're not harping on the church.

[SPEAKER_05]: Elwood passed it for 27 years at church.

[SPEAKER_05]: We are the church.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's the difference.

[SPEAKER_05]: We realize that it's not just a building and we realize that it is the body of Christ.

[SPEAKER_05]: And it's so important to know that because so many people, it's like you said the church world's a mess.

[SPEAKER_05]: And the reason he says that is because it has become such a conformed religion, just a type of place that you go, just a routine service, just something someone returns to.

[SPEAKER_05]: But it's dead.

[SPEAKER_05]: There's a lot of people sitting in those pews that do nothing but just sit there.

[SPEAKER_05]: It is just a checklist for the week and that's all they do.

[SPEAKER_05]: Your discernment is going to be so weak if that's all you do.

[SPEAKER_05]: If all you do is go sit and up you every Sunday you are going to have little to note discernment.

[SPEAKER_05]: You are going to have very weak discernment because you are not leaning into the spirit at all.

[SPEAKER_05]: You are just literally not even satisfying the appetite.

[SPEAKER_05]: You are barely even, you know, touching an appetizer.

[SPEAKER_05]: Like you are just going in there and it's mainly for self, too.

[SPEAKER_05]: And it's just tiny bit of, you know, hearing the word.

[SPEAKER_05]: And that's it, you know, we must lean into worship.

[SPEAKER_05]: We must worship at all times.

[SPEAKER_05]: We must continually give God the praise and glory and worship that he deserves.

[SPEAKER_05]: We must read the word, be hungry to get to know Jesus through these scriptures, and then pray, pray all the time, pray continually.

[SPEAKER_05]: There are so many things that you can do to strengthen your own discernment.

[SPEAKER_05]: But I'm telling you, don't nobody want to be weak out here.

[SPEAKER_05]: You know, you don't want to sit out here and be pray.

[SPEAKER_05]: You want to be strong, and to be strong, we have to lean into our discernment.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_05]: And I just told you how to get that stronger.

[SPEAKER_05]: And so if you are weak in discernment, if it's something that you're not sure or that you need to strengthen even more, well, there's some good key tips to start your journey of a stronger discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: absolutely you know a Solomon asked for wisdom and knowledge and through that he could he could see he could use a wisdom with the knowledge and therefore the sermon came with it and that was a very reason that you know he was able to do what he did to save that child's life and we need wisdom we need knowledge we need understanding

[SPEAKER_00]: And if we will seek it out and ask for, I believe with all my heart, that God will give it to us.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I have forgotten so much in my little mind up here that I used to know and I have forgotten so much.

[SPEAKER_00]: But our beef that you're starving.

[SPEAKER_05]: You ain't got nothing, you are sharp in your mind in Jesus' name.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but I like to read this game.

[SPEAKER_00]: For one is given by the Spirit of Word of Wisdom, to another, the Word of Knowledge, by the same Spirit, to another faith, by the same Spirit, to another, the gifts of healing, by the same Spirit, to another, the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another, to certain other spirits,

[SPEAKER_00]: the interpretation of tongues.

[SPEAKER_00]: These are gifts that God wants to give his children and so often we only see maybe one or two or maybe three use this bad time.

[SPEAKER_00]: What happened to the others?

[SPEAKER_00]: What happened to the others?

[SPEAKER_00]: We have seen healings take place.

[SPEAKER_00]: We have seen deliverance take place We've seen people get set free and I'm telling you what God has a storehouse Yeah, he just has a storehouse a blessings for his children and if we'll just seek him If we'll just seek him and that's a problem.

[SPEAKER_00]: We don't seek him a lot of people don't But if we will if we will

[SPEAKER_00]: and lift up Jesus Christ because Jesus said if I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto him.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that is one thing that this ministry does.

[SPEAKER_00]: It lifts up Jesus above every man.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: His Jesus and Jesus only.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it is.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: We just work in His power.

[SPEAKER_00]: I guess what you might say.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when you see that happen, you can see people's lives,

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll tell you what, I just love to see the testimonies and the comments that have people's been delivered and people have been set free, walk out that water smiling, light and rise late, raise towards the heavens, just waiting for God to give them another blessing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_05]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_05]: When we pray that this helped you today, I pray that your discernment gets stronger just by listening to this, but also that it gives you something to work towards.

[SPEAKER_05]: That it gives you something to strive towards and to get in that word and to lean into and just start having stronger discernment.

[SPEAKER_05]: I know that you want it.

[SPEAKER_05]: I know that we need it.

[SPEAKER_05]: This day and age that we're living in right now, y'all.

[SPEAKER_05]: We're going to need it for these end of times.

[SPEAKER_05]: So get in your word, strengthen up that discernment.

[SPEAKER_05]: No right from wrong let the Lord guide you and teach you and he will not lead you astray.
