  1. Thank you for joining us on another episode of Lifegate

  2. Podcasts. Today we have a very special

  3. guest, somebody who was very impactful and meaningful for

  4. Lifegate Church, somebody who left a very big imprints on not

  5. only myself, but many people inside of our church.

  6. And we we're we're very blessed to welcome Presper Brother Shane

  7. Stewart with us here today. Thank you for joining us,

  8. Brother Stewart. With Cameron, with a Johnny.

  9. It's an honor to be here excited about this.

  10. I've certainly been enjoying all the podcast, all the episodes

  11. I've got a chance to listen to have been really good and so

  12. excited about what you guys are doing.

  13. So mainly with the, with the podcast, we, we, we really want

  14. to capture what made made the person, how God shaped their

  15. life, basically, you know what I mean?

  16. And well, I guess what, what started your relationship with

  17. God? Were you, were you raised in

  18. church with your mom and dad? Were they were they were?

  19. Do they raise you in in church? So my story is that I am third

  20. generation Apostolic Pentecostal on my dad's side.

  21. I am second generation on my mother's side.

  22. My great granny Dial was received the Holy Ghost many,

  23. many years ago. She since went on to her reward.

  24. That's my that was my dad's grandmother.

  25. And then and then my Granny Stewart soon followed.

  26. And then my dad at a early age got the Holy Ghost on my mom's

  27. side, my grandmother, my Granny Queen, which is my mom's mom,

  28. received the Holy Ghost and my grandfather soon followed.

  29. And then it just went down. So and then, you know, I've

  30. never known anything but this. So I kind of cut my teeth on the

  31. Apostolic Pew. Just I made a joke last week

  32. here at the church said, you know, I, I slipped under, under

  33. the Pew many times while somebody was shouting.

  34. So that's all I've known, you know, is that is this.

  35. So I'm, I'm thankful today that 3rd generation on my dad's side,

  36. second generation on my mom's side and my, my children are now

  37. 4th generation Apostolic. So.

  38. That's awesome. Whenever you were when you were

  39. growing up, did you, did you feel like like you just knew

  40. from day one? Like you were like I, I know

  41. this is for me. Did you have that experience

  42. growing up or did you ever have any doubts in your mind?

  43. You know what I mean? Man, I never questioned it, to

  44. be honest with you. It was just, it was so ingrained

  45. in US. You know, when I was a kid, you

  46. know what, we had a drug problem.

  47. We were drug to church, you know, Sunday morning, Sunday

  48. night, Monday night prayer meeting, Tuesday night Bible

  49. study, Wednesday night midweek service, you know, Friday night

  50. youth service. And so we were always there.

  51. If they were cleaning the church, mowing the yard, guess

  52. who was going to be there? We were.

  53. And so, you know, it was just always, something has been

  54. ingrained in me ever since I was just a little kid.

  55. And I never, man, I never thought anything other than

  56. this. I mean, it's just I knew from a

  57. very early age that the Lord had a call on my life.

  58. The Lord didn't tell me, my granny did.

  59. So he told you through her. Say it again.

  60. He said he told you through her, through her.

  61. That's right. That's exactly right.

  62. So do you think that when did you, when did you first start to

  63. feel like God was going to use you?

  64. You know what I mean? When did you get that feeling

  65. God was putting a call on your life to do something greater?

  66. You know, so like I said, my granny, she always would call me

  67. her little preacher man. And, and every man I can

  68. remember every night, my grandmother and grandfather, we

  69. live right next door to him. I stayed at their house a lot.

  70. And every night my grandmother and grandfather would, you know,

  71. they have their time of prayer and then she would read to me

  72. out of the Bible. And my favorite, favorite Bible

  73. story was David and Goliath. And so her Bible would just fall

  74. open to, to first Samuel 17. So, so we, I knew that story and

  75. I could just see myself, you know, every, like I said, every

  76. day she would just tell me, Oh, you're my little preacher man,

  77. little preacher man. But I, you know, so, but as I

  78. grew, got older, I started to feel the call of God on my life.

  79. And it was one Sunday night service.

  80. I was 15 years old and a man, the Holy Ghost was moving as I

  81. was in a little country church out in the middle of nowhere.

  82. And that's where we went to church at the time.

  83. And so, man, the Holy Ghost was moving people shouting and

  84. dancing. And I had one of those, you

  85. know, the Apostle Paul moments where I'm not sure if I'm in the

  86. body or out of the body experience, you know, And so

  87. everything around me went silent.

  88. I mean, I could still, you know, kind of see everybody, what

  89. everybody was doing. But some, like everything else,

  90. went silent. And it's the first and only time

  91. that God ever spoke to me audibly.

  92. And it was the audible voice of God.

  93. And maybe the Lord knew I needed that because I'm hard headed.

  94. So. And so in the middle of all this

  95. shouting, everybody worshiping God, everything gets quiet.

  96. And when it gets quiet, the Lord speaks to me and he says this,

  97. he says, Shane, Shane, preach my word.

  98. And when I, when he said that man, I just broke.

  99. I'm, I'm crying, you know, of course, like I said, everything

  100. is going crazy around me. You know, it was a typical

  101. Apostolic worship service and and I'm sitting there on the

  102. front Pew just weeping, sobbing, you know, and so in because I'm

  103. hard headed, I asked the Lord if the Lord, if that was you tell

  104. me again. And so immediately, immediately

  105. Lord comes back and he said, Shane, Shane, I said preach my

  106. word and then everything come back.

  107. Like I could see everybody shouting, everybody dancing.

  108. And so it was really one of those God moments, the only time

  109. in my life I've ever heard the audible voice of God.

  110. And so it was man, it was a powerful moment in my life, 15

  111. years old. I prayed about it for a week or

  112. two, went to my pastor, talked to him and he tried to

  113. discourage me and you know, just not not I don't think because he

  114. just told me. He said that this is a hard Rd.

  115. If you want to, you know, if you're going to walk, walk this

  116. path. I have no doubt God may have a

  117. call in your life, but I want you to make sure.

  118. And so I appreciate that. And so before long, he had give

  119. me an opportunity to preach. It was about five of the most

  120. terrifying moments of my minutes of my life.

  121. And so it was. But I knew the Lord had His hand

  122. on me from that time, you know? And so I begin.

  123. I started preaching around age 15.

  124. Wow. So one thing you mentioned that

  125. it's kind of been a recurring theme for us on these podcasts,

  126. but it's the parents work in their child.

  127. So for you, you mentioned you were always at the church and

  128. you had not only your parents, but your grandparents.

  129. Man, what an effect that can have on a, on a kid.

  130. And that's just something we've been getting a lot of when

  131. people feel like, oh, you don't need to be pushing it on your

  132. kid. And you know, that's the new

  133. thing in today's day. You don't let your kid figure it

  134. out for themselves and don't push this on them.

  135. But obviously they did it right. And you have no regrets about it

  136. because I mean, you never you, you're put on the right path and

  137. you're able to stay there. And it's such, such a blessing

  138. to be able to have parents who are so invested in their kids

  139. and even grandparents were so invested in you and, and, and

  140. giving you that even from such a young age.

  141. I just, I think that's awesome. Yes, I, I would like to say that

  142. this world is pushing their doctrine on our, on our kids.

  143. And so we better be doing our part to try to get the truth in

  144. our, in our children. And, and I think faithfulness

  145. has to be modeled in front of them.

  146. And so if our, if our children are going to live for God and

  147. they're going to look back and set where I'm sitting now in 20

  148. years or 30 years, man, they better see consistency in the

  149. life of their parents and grandparents.

  150. And man, that just the childhood I grew up in it, it made me who

  151. I am today. Now, I will tell you, my mom and

  152. my dad both back slid, walked away from the Lord for a period

  153. of time. My dad and my mom got divorced.

  154. I think I was about four years old.

  155. And so my dad went away from the Lord for a long time.

  156. Matter of fact, I didn't even see him again till I was almost

  157. seven years old. And then, you know, through a

  158. course of events, I started seeing him every other weekend,

  159. that kind of thing. In a week or two in the summer,

  160. my mother got remarried. She got back in church and then

  161. you know, and but I thank God for godly grandparents that were

  162. always consistent and faithful. And my mom is my mom is in

  163. church today doing great. They're they're great people.

  164. My dad is yes, my dad has passed away several years ago, but I

  165. will tell you this little quick story.

  166. Before my dad had my dad had a a problem.

  167. He he couldn't stay in church. He would come in, pray through

  168. be in church for a few weeks, maybe even a couple months, and

  169. then he would fall away. You know, there's he just, there

  170. was so many things that pulled on him, tugged on him.

  171. But when my dad was diagnosed with cancer, I started praying

  172. and I said, Lord, I know you can heal his body, but I'm more

  173. concerned with his soul. And so I want you to heal him,

  174. but if you choose not to heal him, at least you know less.

  175. I want things to be right. And so I was praying.

  176. I was at work one day. I was praying, man.

  177. I was just, the Lord was really working on me.

  178. So I called my wife. I said, Monica, I said, I'm

  179. going to go, I'm going to go see dad this afternoon.

  180. At this point, he was very sick, very weak.

  181. So when I got off work, I drove to his house.

  182. I walked in and walked in the door.

  183. I knew I was on a mission about the Lord had been dealing with

  184. me all day. So I knew I was on a mission

  185. from God. So I walked in the I walked in

  186. the door. When I walked in, my

  187. grandmother, my Granny Stewart, his mother was there.

  188. My aunt, one of my aunts was there.

  189. And then I have two cousins that are backslidden still today.

  190. They were there. And so when I walked in the

  191. door, I walked in and closed the door behind me and I turned to

  192. my 2 cousins and I said, hey guys, we're about to have a

  193. prayer meeting. And if you don't want to be

  194. here, you might want to leave. And so I immediately, I, I said,

  195. we're going to start praying. I turn the granny into my aunt

  196. and aunt and I said, hey, let's, let's pray.

  197. And so my dad was so weak. He was laying on the couch,

  198. couldn't get off the couch. He was just, I mean, he just,

  199. he, he, I mean, he was, you know, 110 lbs soaking wet at

  200. this point. His cancers just destroyed his

  201. body. And, and so I walked over to him

  202. and I knelt down beside him. I said, Hey, dad, I said, I want

  203. to, I've come today to pray for you.

  204. And when I did, when I said that, immediately tears begin to

  205. roll down his face and he said so much you don't know he is is

  206. that I've been on the phone today.

  207. I've called your mom. I've tried to make things right

  208. with her. And he had been my mom and him

  209. been divorced for many years at this point.

  210. He said I've called other people that he he knew he had things he

  211. needed to fix and make right. Him and the neighbor lived just

  212. down the road. They had been in a argument for

  213. some time. He said I talked to him today

  214. and apologize and try to make things right.

  215. He said, I knew you were coming. And so I said, well, Dad, I'm,

  216. I'm about to pray for you. I said, you have repented of

  217. your sins, obviously. And he said yes.

  218. And tears just streaming down his face.

  219. And I said, I'm about to pray for you.

  220. And so we started praying about 30 seconds.

  221. I reached over and laid my hand on his head immediately began to

  222. speak in tongues. The Holy Ghost filled the room,

  223. you know, and, and so it was very powerful. 2 weeks later, I

  224. stood about his casket, you know, so thank God.

  225. Thank God that he was, you know that he's a loving God, gives us

  226. an opportunity so, so powerful. What a, what a, what a powerful

  227. testimony. What, what encouragement would

  228. you give to those who might find themselves in a situation where

  229. they're trying to pray for a loved one or a family member

  230. who's out? Because obviously you had to

  231. live a long time where you maybe you felt like you were having to

  232. pray for your father and hold out that folk.

  233. What, what what? What?

  234. Would you give advice to somebody who finds themselves in

  235. that situation like? Never stop praying.

  236. I'll be consistent pray and plead the blood of Jesus over

  237. him. God keep him safe and deal with

  238. their heart. Let him remember what it feels

  239. like for your presence to be you know for them to be in your

  240. presence. Let him remember what it feels

  241. like the joy and the peace of the Holy Ghost Remind them of

  242. what a good life it is living for the Lord.

  243. And that's what I prayed and God just drawing keep your hand up

  244. on him and pulling tug, tug on his heart.

  245. And and then the hard prayer to pray is God, whatever it takes,

  246. get their attention, whatever it takes.

  247. And that's a difficult prayer. And I had been praying that with

  248. my dad. It took a diagnosis of cancer

  249. and ultimately a death sentence that led to a life, a life

  250. sentence, you know, so, so man, consistency living for God.

  251. And then also just consistency in your prayer like that unjust

  252. judge, you know, just keep going back knocking, just keep going

  253. back and saying, hey, God, we need you to, you know, I need

  254. you to touch this. I need you to move in this

  255. situation. Absolutely.

  256. Yeah, that's a that's a prayer that Dad, dad always told me or

  257. even growing up, he said he's the one number one thing to pray

  258. for when you pray is just to tell the Lord whatever it takes

  259. for you to get me to where I'm, I'm saved, whatever it takes.

  260. I may not like it, and in that time I might be arguing with

  261. you, but right now to do what you got to do, to make sure that

  262. I make it to heaven, because that's what's most important.

  263. Yeah, so many people are afraid to pray that prayer.

  264. But man, when when you weigh things in in the balance of

  265. eternity, no matter what we have to go through here.

  266. It'll be worth it. It's.

  267. Going to be worth it if if we're saved, if our, if our children

  268. are saved. So you know that prayer God,

  269. sometimes, sometimes people have to hit rock bottom.

  270. Yeah, before they ever look up. And so that's difficult,

  271. especially when it's someone that's close to you, a parent, a

  272. child, you know, whoever you know, close friend, whatever.

  273. But when you pray those prayers, you got to trust God that God's

  274. got his hand on it and God knows exactly what it's going to take

  275. to kind of reach their heart and, and to soften that heart.

  276. So, you know, that's it's a hard prayer to pray.

  277. And sometimes we got to be willing to take our hands off of

  278. it and say, OK, God, instead of praying God, keep them from all

  279. this stuff, yeah, you know, got them all back up and take my

  280. hands off of it and let you do what you need to do because

  281. their soul is the most important thing.

  282. Another another thing that really stood out to me when

  283. you're talking a second ago and just it's just a powerful

  284. testimony is that you know, it it everything doesn't always

  285. have to be right in your life, right?

  286. Like every your parents not to be perfect for you to live for

  287. God, right? And that's important, especially

  288. when, you know, I think of some of the younger kids in our

  289. church in that way, how they can grow from that.

  290. I guess my question would be, you know, what kind of, I guess,

  291. speaking from the influence that your grandparents had, what kind

  292. of influence can we have in the life of those who might find

  293. themselves like maybe they don't have a good father, a good

  294. mother that's just going to tell them this is what this is what

  295. the truth is. You know what I mean?

  296. What kind of influence can others kind of have that maybe

  297. your grandparents would have spoke to, you know what I mean?

  298. Yeah. So I think the.

  299. History of the body is so important, the body of Christ.

  300. And so if if you're an elder in the church, maybe your grandkids

  301. are not in church or maybe they don't go to church there, find

  302. somebody to mentor, find somebody to pour yourself into.

  303. We have we have elders in the church here that are, you know

  304. that they are great godly examples.

  305. And so I think that it's very, very important that children

  306. that don't have godly influences at home, that they find those

  307. godly influences somewhere. So man, if you got, if you know,

  308. you got a young man in the church, but you got a season

  309. saying an elder in the church that can man take him fishing

  310. and talk about the Lord or, you know, take him to breakfast or,

  311. or just there has to be somebody needs to be somebody in their

  312. life that can, you know, mentor them and help them so that they

  313. can see, Hey, I can live for God.

  314. Because a lot of our elders, they didn't have anybody leading

  315. them. They come, they come into this

  316. brand new. I mean, they're first generation

  317. apostolics and they're trying. They they had a lot of

  318. resistance then that we don't even face today.

  319. And so, but they're a testimony that, hey, you can live for God,

  320. even though your parents may not or your may not have had godly

  321. grandparents or whatever. But I think it's so important

  322. that we have the ministry of the body.

  323. And that's what I try to encourage our elders.

  324. Hey, they're watching you, You know, they, they watch me as

  325. pastor, they watch Sister Monica as his first lady.

  326. They they see our other leaders, but they need to know that, man,

  327. you can live for God even when, even if your parents are not or

  328. your children, you know, or your grandparents are not.

  329. So it's so important that we have godly examples in the

  330. church. Yeah, and that and you know and.

  331. A lot of people are probably thinking, well that, well,

  332. Shane, that's, that's easier said and done.

  333. But I will like to put a note in there that for us in particular,

  334. when we were going through that as as high schoolers, you, you

  335. lived that you and a couple other people at at Lifegate at

  336. the time, you guys lived by what you preach by taking us as

  337. little heathens and and trying your best.

  338. And I was probably one of the I was probably the worst one.

  339. But even still, you know, me and Kobe were competing for it.

  340. But you still, you still lived it.

  341. It wasn't just you said it, you lived it, you know, so that I

  342. would like to put that in there. You actually did you.

  343. And like I said, a couple others Brother Mac would would take us

  344. and you tried your best to obviously it worked to some

  345. extent because here we are. That's right.

  346. So I want to put that in there. Absolutely.

  347. So you you got the call to from God 15 years old and you got

  348. that opportunity to speak. What kind of lessons did you

  349. learn in that period of your life?

  350. You know, oh man. Every step along the way I've

  351. learned and grown, gleaned and the, you know, the ministry

  352. journey has been, it's been pretty amazing, man.

  353. I, you know, as a, as a 15 year old for the next three years, I

  354. was under, under my pastor there, brother Carl Malone and,

  355. and, you know, help me in a lot of ways learn to, you know,

  356. study the word of God, really try to apply its principles to

  357. my life. And then I was, you know, I've

  358. always kind of been a revivalist.

  359. I believe, you know, that God wants us to have great revival

  360. there, that we should be reaching in the field.

  361. One of the, one of the funny things is we, I was out door

  362. knocking one day. I was young.

  363. It's probably 17/16/17. It's outdoor knocking one day

  364. and I ran into another group that were at the two young men

  365. that were outdoor knocking. I won't anyway, but they were

  366. outdoor knocking. And so I engaged in a

  367. conversation with them and I'm very quickly realized I didn't

  368. know as much as I thought I did. And so the Lord really got to

  369. dealing with me. And he said, hey, if you're

  370. going to be a witness, you need to know what you're talking

  371. about. And so it made me want to dive

  372. in. So because the Bible tells us

  373. that we need to be ready to give an answer of those that ask.

  374. And so when I couldn't come back and give biblical answers to to

  375. the rebuttal, you know, I, I had to be able to the Lord really

  376. start dealing me and saying you need to you need to dive into

  377. this. If you're going to preach this,

  378. you got to know it. You got to know.

  379. It and so man, it really has a 1617 year old young man made me

  380. decide you know what I need to get into the word of God.

  381. I mean, I don't know. I don't know all I thought I

  382. did, you know, So it helped me. Well, that's why.

  383. You know, there's, there's a lot of back and forth with a lot of

  384. people on, on licensing, right, with, with the UPCI.

  385. But you know, one thing that I've learned just through my own

  386. personal studies, like, and talking to Cam, I was like, you

  387. know, one of the biggest reasons behind that is they want you to

  388. prove or, or it, it motivates you to learn everything that

  389. you're supposed to know and, and, and prove that you do have

  390. the discipline to learn it. So I, I, I just throw that in

  391. there too, because it's something that I've been looking

  392. at and just like, OK, why, why is this so important?

  393. Well, OK, this, this makes sense.

  394. It's because they want to make sure that you want to make sure

  395. that people are disciplined to know and are ready when that

  396. time comes. And I think there's a lot of

  397. people and I, I myself would be included that I'm, you know,

  398. you're not. If someone came in and said,

  399. Hey, let's, let's, let's debate. I'd be like, man, I'm not

  400. intelligent enough for that. But it's, it's something that

  401. it's like in the same thing. It's like, OK, well, that's why

  402. I was like, well, I got to start digging in, especially because I

  403. don't want to get to the end of time and become before the Lord

  404. and God be like, you had all this time to learn all this

  405. about me and you didn't, you said you love me, but you didn't

  406. do the simplest thing of learning about me.

  407. And that, that convicted me a little bit over the summer.

  408. So I, I, I, I applaud that, Yeah.

  409. So let me say this about about licensing while I'm here.

  410. So while you brought that up, I have the, I have the privilege

  411. of sitting on the district board now.

  412. And, and so we have a licensing seminar every year and

  413. candidates come and, and you know, we interview them, we

  414. break up into subcommittees and we interview them.

  415. And you would be surprised, maybe I'm a little hard when it

  416. gets it, when it, when it comes to that.

  417. But you would be surprised at, at, I'm sitting across the table

  418. from, from somebody that's trying to get license.

  419. And, and I asked a question like, explain to me the oneness

  420. of God. And they're like, I'm like, give

  421. me a scripture about the oneness of God.

  422. I, I don't, I've, I've literally had them tell me this.

  423. I, I, I don't know any scriptures on the oneness of

  424. God. And I'm like, time out.

  425. You're here getting license. You have been through this

  426. training and you can't give me one scripture on the oneness of

  427. God. There's a whole book you have to

  428. read besides. There's the Bible.

  429. There's like 6066. So you know, so, so, so my, my

  430. thing is, is that man, we, we got to know the word of God.

  431. And so when they come sit down in front of us as a, as a, you

  432. know, a subcommittee and then the district board, I want to

  433. know, do they know about the oneness of God?

  434. Where other than Acts 238 can we find the plan of salvation

  435. right? Because Acts 238 is our candy

  436. stick. Everybody knows that, right?

  437. But what about Acts 8, Acts 10, Acts 19, Acts 22?

  438. What about John 3? Must be born again of the water

  439. and spirit, you know? What about?

  440. What about all that you know? So when they sit down across

  441. from us, I want to know. Do you?

  442. I'm not asking you who Melchizedek was.

  443. You know what I'm saying? I'm not asking you something.

  444. I just want to know, do you know basic biblical truths that you

  445. can share with somebody else, right?

  446. Because if you're going to be in the ministry, you got to be able

  447. to share this truth. You got to be able to tell

  448. somebody and be confident. About it.

  449. That's right. That's right.

  450. And lead them through the word of God.

  451. Those scriptures need to be highlighted in your Bible.

  452. They need to be underlined. They need to be you know you

  453. need to put them in the back of your mind so that if somebody

  454. asked hey, let me take you to let me take you over to this

  455. scripture to show you so that we need to know you know, first

  456. Timothy 316 great is the mystery of godless God was manifest in

  457. the flesh just by the spirit scene of angels preaching the

  458. Gentiles Amen received on the world believed up in you know

  459. believed on the word received up in the glory you know so we need

  460. to know that we need to know Deuteronomy 6 and four hero is

  461. the Lord our God is 1 Lord we need to be able to say to tell

  462. those scriptures and give a give an answer to those that ask So

  463. man, it's important we know this truth Yeah and you know it's

  464. crazy like. I don't know who else mentioned

  465. it before, but like it's funny to me how the doctrine that we

  466. believe in is. The most?

  467. Heavily attacked too and, and what's crazier to me is like, I

  468. mean, oneness has always been something that's kind of been

  469. attacked, you know, from the trinitarian side of it and so

  470. forth. But now it's not even just that

  471. now you're, you're getting attacked even more so on

  472. speaking in tongues, the Holy Ghost, what is the, the gifts of

  473. the Spirit. And now they're even going after

  474. baptism. So it's like it all well, you

  475. don't really have to be baptized like man it you're just they're

  476. they're not trying to attack each other.

  477. They're like specifically trying to attack this one, which just

  478. so happens to be us, which tells me it's like we must be on to

  479. something. But it's crazy.

  480. It it's true that I mean that was.

  481. That's the book of Acts. I mean, it's the book of Acts.

  482. So it was constantly under attack in the book of Acts.

  483. You know it. But that persecution's what led

  484. to great revival. And so, you know, had there not

  485. been persecution, the church would have just been confined to

  486. Jerusalem. But because there was such

  487. persecution in in Jerusalem and it made the word of God spread.

  488. And so the word of God is spreading.

  489. We are having great revival. People are getting the Holy

  490. Ghost, people are getting baptized in Jesus name.

  491. And so thank God for that. But it's because there's such a

  492. push back, but there's a hunger for God.

  493. You know, we look at the world today and we, we know that, you

  494. know, there's a lot of wickedness, evilness out there.

  495. But there's also man, there's, there's also some hungry people

  496. we saw. That a lot with what's his name,

  497. the guy who just got killed, Charlie Kirk.

  498. Yeah, I'm not not AI don't know much about him.

  499. But I mean the amount of just uproar that happened with people

  500. who are now just because of what he was and what he said.

  501. They they're reading the Bible now they're wanting to learn.

  502. I will agree with that. There's there's, there's a you

  503. can sense that hunger in the world that there's, there's got

  504. to be something here. Well, even.

  505. Beyond that, I would say that the more that the denominal

  506. world kind of morphs into one, one real belief, you know, the

  507. more the other organizations like the UPCI leading the

  508. charge, you know, but they stand out.

  509. And we really do stand out in the crowd, still standing up for

  510. something. We don't just morph into this

  511. one kind of doctrine that's being spread around basically,

  512. you know, so. You know Jesus name baptism.

  513. If you can't see Jesus name baptism in Scripture, I mean man

  514. you you need to ask the Lord to remove your the blinders off

  515. your eyes because there is nowhere in Scripture ever did

  516. they ever baptize in the titles Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

  517. I mean it was always in the name of Jesus.

  518. We got scripture after scripture tells us Acts 412 neither is

  519. there salvation any other none of their name under heaven given

  520. among men whereby we must be saved.

  521. And so that name I tell our people here, we're baptizing

  522. people. I tell him, I said, look,

  523. there's nothing in the water. I, I, we, we feel this badge

  524. through straight out of the tap. You know, there's nothing in the

  525. water. The powers in the name.

  526. And so when you come into the bride of Christ, you got to take

  527. on the name. And so we have scripture after

  528. scripture that says the name is what's what's important, you

  529. know, So what would you? What advice would you be given

  530. to I guess younger ministers who maybe who feel the call of God

  531. in their life beyond just we talked about studying those

  532. things, but how would you say you should be responding to the

  533. to the call of God? You know what I mean?

  534. What, what encouragement. So I think the first.

  535. Thing to do is if you're a young man, you need a man of God in

  536. your life. Let me back up.

  537. Every person needs a man of God in their life.

  538. I don't care if you're 5 or or 95, you still need a man of God

  539. in your life. But if you if you're a young

  540. man, you fill a call of God on your life.

  541. Fill a call to to ministry, pulpit ministry or or any kind

  542. of ministry. You need a man of God in your

  543. life that you will submit yourself to.

  544. And let me say something about submission while I'm here.

  545. So submission begins where agreement ends.

  546. And so when as long as we're always in agreement, Cameron

  547. there, there's no need for submission, right?

  548. But when disagreement comes with the man of God in your life,

  549. that's when submission shows up. Hey, I may not exactly agree

  550. with this, but I'm going to submit my will to to what the

  551. man of God is telling me. And so, so I think the the first

  552. thing is, is submit yourself to a man of God, somebody that's

  553. that's seeking the Lord, following the Lord and, and, and

  554. then just ask him, Hey, pastor, where, what, what can I do?

  555. What's the next step? What do, what do you want me to

  556. do? Work.

  557. And, you know, because I believe, I believe in Bible

  558. college. I believe in all that's great.

  559. I think, of course they need to add it.

  560. Bible college is how to work a paintbrush and a hammer and A

  561. and A and a toilet brush and there you go.

  562. Useful skills. I got to tie a trash bag.

  563. Yeah, yeah. Change a light bulb.

  564. I had to do that this morning, by the way.

  565. So, you know, but all that, that all that's good.

  566. But I think you've got to submit yourself to a man, to a man of

  567. God. And then from there, as he gives

  568. instructions, you know, obviously study the word man,

  569. teach a Bible study, teach a Bible study.

  570. I mean, that's what I'm trying to tell our young guys here as

  571. man, find somebody to teach a Bible study.

  572. And I mean, we're having amazing results across our movement with

  573. P7 clubs, CMI, all those kind of things.

  574. And so there there's people out there that want this.

  575. You just got to go find them and you got to work in the Kingdom.

  576. You know, I think it's so important that that if you're

  577. going to be called the ministry man, you, you get your hands on

  578. the wall and help pull somebody from the flames of the fire, you

  579. know, and so well say, say. Say say you're, you're, you're

  580. I'm hearing your words. I'm like, OK, well, I do want to

  581. start a Bible study, but that can be a little intimidating.

  582. I'll just being transparent. It can be a little intimidating

  583. for someone to be like, OK, well, how do I start this?

  584. How do I go about it? You are very good as as I've

  585. heard and as we've heard and have experience with that.

  586. What what would be your what would be your again advice on

  587. that for someone like you're a little intimidated for the just

  588. this idea of starting a Bible study with people and leading

  589. the charge in that regard. So almost like tell you like

  590. this. So one thing they tell us on my

  591. job was, you know, I've worked for CentOS now for a long time,

  592. almost 20 years. And so they told us, I'm coming

  593. back around to your question. So, but they told us when you're

  594. having a conversation with with one of your customers, it the,

  595. you know more about uniforms than they ever will, right.

  596. Well, if you've been, if you grew up in this and you know,

  597. you've heard enough teaching and preaching through, you know,

  598. over the time, you're going to know exponentially more than

  599. what the person you're teaching the word of God to.

  600. And so, and to be honest with you, it's, it's pretty easy.

  601. There's a lot of biblical or a lot of helps out there.

  602. Now, there are numerous Bible studies.

  603. I know at Lifegate, man, we, we taught exploring God's word.

  604. I still teach it here, you know, and so, but there's simple,

  605. endless, marvelous lot. There's all kinds of these

  606. script, all kinds of these Bible studies that you can take and

  607. they just walk you through it. So, and when you walk in there,

  608. don't go in there with arrogance, but go in there with

  609. some confidence saying, and I mean, I, I know this because

  610. I've heard this all my life. I've studied it and it be

  611. prepared, you know, but but the other thing is, is that if you

  612. have people in your church that are new to the church, they need

  613. somebody to teach them. So a small group setting, which

  614. is what we utilized at Lifegate when we were there, we would

  615. take my family, Monica and myself and at the time our

  616. children and we would, we would couple that with another, you

  617. know, another family or two. Usually the brides were one we

  618. had, I can't remember who was in that Bible study with us, US and

  619. the brides, but anyway, and then we had Jason and Rachel Brister

  620. and we had Amanda and Brian, Brian in, in our in our Bible

  621. study. And So what we would do is we'd

  622. make it, you know, we would rotate between homes when we

  623. goes out of our house next week with somebody else's house.

  624. And so we would do that because you're building, not only are

  625. you teaching the word, but you're also building

  626. camaraderie, building friendships.

  627. You're, you know, you're building relationships and

  628. you're connecting them to the church during that.

  629. So I think it's so important that we build connections, make

  630. connections while we're teaching the word of God.

  631. And so anybody teach, anybody teach a Bible study.

  632. If you're brand new to the church, you can teach a Bible

  633. study. People can argue with your

  634. theology, but they can't argue with your experience.

  635. If you got the Holy Ghost, man, you got a testimony.

  636. You can share that. You say, look, I don't

  637. understand all this. I don't know all the details.

  638. All I know is man, when I come up out of that water, man, God

  639. fill me with the Holy Ghost, man, what a difference is made

  640. in my life, you know? And so you got a testimony,

  641. Share that. But.

  642. It's speaking, speaking and all that we were talking about on

  643. the way here. I said, you know what's crazy?

  644. What I'm excited about this one for is so we got so many new

  645. families and and we've moved grown so much with Lifegate

  646. since you were there, that not many people or there's a lot of

  647. people that don't know how integral a part you played in

  648. the growth of Lifegate. I mean, oh, railroad Abed.

  649. I mean, I can't think of oh, railroad Abed without the

  650. Stewarts being there. You know, we would, you know,

  651. like I said, as as little heathen kids, but even just

  652. growing up, you know, outside of that, man, we had some, some

  653. amazing services where, you know, when, when pastor would be

  654. out of town and, and you would take over and it'd be like, all

  655. right, we're about to get a fireball here today.

  656. But it was nice. But I was like, there's such a,

  657. the stewards were such an integral part of Lifegate's

  658. growth that people now, you know, unless they were there,

  659. they don't know about that. So it's, it's, that's what makes

  660. this exciting. Yeah.

  661. I mean, I think just just a testimony, that's one thing

  662. people need to know is that Brother Stuart's not talking

  663. from, he's not talking about platitudes or things that he

  664. wants you to do. He's talking about things that

  665. he has done throughout his life. You never got too big to teach a

  666. Bible study. You know what I mean?

  667. It's the call of God for everybody, isn't it?

  668. So so I. I would like to take a moment

  669. and and say to brother and sister Penton, thank you for the

  670. opportunity. 7 1/2 years at Lifegate, You know, when we came

  671. to life Gate, we and we had just walked through one of the

  672. darkest times in our lives, one of the hardest trials in our

  673. life. We had a pastor before that that

  674. I was leaving truth. And at that point he even tried

  675. to get me to turn my fellowship card in and I came to me and

  676. said, Hey, I'm going this direction and I'd like for you

  677. to come with me. And, and so I immediately said,

  678. if you're going that way, I'm not going that way.

  679. And I'm just, I'm not walking away from what I know.

  680. I mean, I'm, I've got too much invested at this.

  681. I was a young man at the time, you know, and so I've got too

  682. much invested in this. I've seen my, my great

  683. grandmother, my grandmother and my grandfather and my mother

  684. live for God and hold on to this truth.

  685. And I'm going to raise my kids in this.

  686. So I'm not, I'm not leaving this.

  687. And so we came to Life Gate Castle Dr. you know, and we got

  688. there, it was literally a divided church.

  689. I mean, it had a it had a wall coming out.

  690. I mean, literally you had you had about 2020 or 25 chairs in

  691. the front, about 15 in the back or something like that.

  692. And so, yeah, I mean, there was literally a wall that come out.

  693. And if you sit in the back, you couldn't see.

  694. You just had to listen and walk by faith or sit by faith.

  695. And so, but when we got there, I don't know, I think the church

  696. was probably 2530, maybe, maybe maybe 35.

  697. I don't, I don't. It wasn't much more than that.

  698. And so we got there, you know what?

  699. And when I got there, I had a conversation with a penton and I

  700. told him, I said, hey, I'm not coming for a position.

  701. I'm not. We need to heal.

  702. We need to, I don't know how long we'll be here.

  703. All I know is this is where the Lord told me to come.

  704. And so for the next 7 1/2 years we were at Lifegate and man, we

  705. saw great things happen. The church moved from Castle Dr.

  706. bought the building on old railroad bed road and, and just

  707. totally remodeled that, turned it into a church.

  708. And man at the church just started growing and it

  709. continued. And man, I thank God for what's

  710. you know, for what God's done there.

  711. And man, the beautiful building you guys are in now, what a

  712. miracle, you know, thank God for that.

  713. And so, but through those, you know, through those 7 1/2 years,

  714. brother, brother Penton, sister Penton, they man, they trusted

  715. us, allowed us to, allowed us to teach Bible studies, allowed us

  716. to, to be involved. We were served as youth pastor

  717. for several years, was assistant pastor for a while, just

  718. everything that was going on Lifegate, we were trying, we try

  719. to be involved in. And so we literally just tried

  720. to put our hands on the plow, not look back, you know, And so

  721. because I'm Kingdom minded and I, I realized that at the time,

  722. I thought we may be at life gate for the for the rest of our

  723. ministry. But that's kind of been my my

  724. pattern is that wherever I'm animal buy in and I'm going to

  725. get, I'm going to give it everything I've got because even

  726. previous stops before we got to life gate, I, I thought I would

  727. never leave. I thought I would be there and

  728. continue to help grow that church.

  729. But what I'm, I guess the point I'm trying to make is is that

  730. when we got to life gate, God had a work for us to do.

  731. And so we just try to get in and do that.

  732. And brother and sister Penton allowed us to do that and we

  733. learn a lot and grow, grew a lot, gleaned a lot from that

  734. from that time that we were there.

  735. I will tell this one funny story while I'm here.

  736. I'm going to pick on your dad. Just a minute, Cameron.

  737. So brother Penton, this is for you, Cade.

  738. Cade was wanting to get baptized.

  739. And so brother Penton is very green.

  740. And so when if you've been through the colors test, brother

  741. Sister Hughes, you'll know what I'm talking about.

  742. All you life Gators. It's been through that.

  743. And so we've actually done that here too.

  744. But anyway, so Brother Penton is he's going to analyze

  745. everything, all this kind of stuff.

  746. And so Cade was wanting to get baptized.

  747. And so I told Brother Penton. I said, hey, Brother Penton, but

  748. Cade wants to get baptized. He's ready to get baptized.

  749. And Brother Penton was trying to buy a baptistry and so he got

  750. bogged down in the details of, of, of, of buying a baptistery.

  751. And so I finally went to and this was rocked on for probably

  752. four or five weeks. And I said, Brother Penton, if

  753. you don't, if you don't buy a baptistery, I'm going to take

  754. him somewhere else and baptize him.

  755. So, so Brother Penton finally bought a baptistery and we

  756. baptized cake. But anyway.

  757. That's this is a push. He needed you.

  758. Know it was the push he needed so I hope I was as much a help

  759. to him as he was to me. That's the.

  760. That's the. Baptistry we have now in it.

  761. Yeah, we still still still use it.

  762. Yeah. So that joker was heavy.

  763. When you all would move it, man, I remember that.

  764. So he he got him a nice one, you got him to get a good one.

  765. And so, you know, this is kind of touching on this and and

  766. don't have to get necessarily too, too deep into the details

  767. on this portion, but this is one of the hardest things that a lot

  768. of people face in church. And that's disappointment in a

  769. human and a disappointment in a pastor.

  770. And a lot of times that's where people turn away from God

  771. because somebody didn't live up to their ideals and didn't live

  772. up to what to the Bible's ideals, you know what I mean?

  773. And so a lot of people end up getting bitter and kind of just

  774. because naturally you're hurt. I mean, I would be hurt if

  775. somebody you trust does that. I guess could you speak to

  776. somebody maybe that like there's just because somebody fails, God

  777. is still good. You know what I mean?

  778. Sure, let. Me, let me recommend a resource

  779. right here for this, too. It's called The Root of

  780. Bitterness. I'm sorry.

  781. It's called The Bait of Satan by John Verveer.

  782. It is a great, powerful book. I try to read it every couple

  783. years because there's going to be disappointment, there's going

  784. to be hurt. There's going to be

  785. difficulties, You know, I've had the privilege of pastoring here

  786. for eight years. I know I'm not always done

  787. everything like they wanted me to do it, you know, and I know

  788. that I there have been times when people have left frustrated

  789. with me or whatever. And and so, but I don't, it's

  790. important we don't let that turn into a root of bitterness, you

  791. know, And so there have been in our lives, there have been

  792. several times where different situations, circumstances have

  793. have led to hurt, you know, and, and, and I hate to use the word

  794. church hurt, but you know, because I mean, it's just hurt,

  795. you know, you just hurt. And so, man, when you're, when

  796. you go through some of that stuff, it's so important to

  797. understand that we're all still in the flesh.

  798. We're all still battling the flesh.

  799. And sometimes even leaders, myself, including especially

  800. myself, make decisions that looking back, we may say, man, I

  801. could have done that a little different or I could handle that

  802. situation a little different. Or because I can assure you

  803. every, every leader takes takes those decisions home with them.

  804. They go home. I, I know somebody might go home

  805. hurt, but they go home and they're carrying the burden of

  806. that decision with them too. So when they so I think it's so

  807. important that we step back and realize that although man may

  808. have hurt us, God never has never hurt us.

  809. And, and that even though we're in the middle of a battle, I

  810. would, I've always said this, I would a lot, a lot rather walk

  811. through the storm, knowing Jesus is holding my hand, then try to

  812. go through it by myself. Because the Bible clearly tells

  813. us that it rains on the just and the unjust.

  814. The same storm that hit the wise man also hit the foolish man's

  815. house. And so the difference was the

  816. aftermath, how I came out after this, right.

  817. So the foolish man built on the sand, but the wise man built on

  818. the on the rock. And so man after the storm, the

  819. wise man was still standing, his house was still standing.

  820. The foolish man was not the aftermath is what was different.

  821. And so when we face things in life, if we're built on the fact

  822. that God is good all the time, you know, even in the middle of

  823. my problem, even the middle of my trouble, even in the middle

  824. of my situation, I don't want to charge God foolishly.

  825. Job right. But I want to just say I'm going

  826. to trust you. You know, I'm going to, I'm

  827. going to, I'm going to keep my faith in you, even though I'm

  828. dealing with this problem, even though I've been hurt, I'm still

  829. going to trust you. And so through that, when you

  830. have that understanding, you can say, man, God really is good.

  831. And what what I found out is the older I get, the more I look

  832. back and see that God was really developing me through those

  833. times. He was working in me or maybe

  834. sometimes he was working something out of me that that

  835. had been, you know, that had been hidden.

  836. And so the Lord's trying to take something out of me that was, it

  837. was in my life that didn't need to be or, you know, or he was

  838. letting. I was growing through the

  839. process, you know. And so Joseph wasn't ready for

  840. the palace till he went through the pit, through Potiphar's

  841. house and through the prison. It took some time.

  842. He couldn't have handled the promotion when he was still

  843. wearing the coat of entitlement from his father.

  844. So there had to be some stripping away.

  845. And so he, that coat was stripped and then he gets into,

  846. you know, he gets into Potiphar's house and he's, he

  847. loses another coat, you know, and so contentment, I think, you

  848. know, he was content. Everything that Potiphar had was

  849. under his hand. And so he, he loses that code of

  850. contentment. Oh, Joe thought, I'm not doing

  851. too bad. I think I'll stay here, you

  852. know, right. So and then God said, I'm not,

  853. that's not what I promised you. There's a, you know, there's I

  854. got something greater for you. And so he goes to the prison and

  855. he gets down in there and all of a sudden, man, I, this is, you

  856. know, I'm everything's under my hand.

  857. The, the, the keeper of the jail.

  858. You don't even know what's going on here.

  859. I'm running everything. And, and then all of a sudden he

  860. loses another coat and he ends up in, in the palace in front

  861. of, in front of Pharaoh, you know, and God had promoted him,

  862. but it was promoting him through peril, right through, through

  863. the things. And so the key is, I think when

  864. we go through things, whether it's somebody's hurt our

  865. feelings or we're going through a battle or struggle, the key is

  866. to step back and say, OK, God, what are you trying to teach me

  867. in the middle of all this? What do you want me to learn?

  868. What am I? I need to know God so that I can

  869. grow. Because I'll be honest with you,

  870. if I was Joseph, I wouldn't want to go back to the pit.

  871. Nope. I don't want to go back to

  872. prison, you know. And so the key thing is, is to

  873. learn what you need to learn in those situations so that you

  874. don't you don't have to repeat those you know or stay longer.

  875. Or. Stay longer.

  876. Yeah, I, I tell a story around here sometime, you know, that

  877. years ago I'm, I'm walking through my front yard and I fall

  878. in a hole, twist my ankle real bad.

  879. You know, when I, I get up, I'm hobbling around, you know, I hob

  880. around for a week or, you know, 10 days or whatever.

  881. And I'm thinking, man, that stupid hole, it wasn't a hole's

  882. fault, you know? And so I think I'm going to fill

  883. that hole up. Well, six months later, I'm

  884. walking to the yard and following the same hole again.

  885. Whose fault was it? It was my fault for not filling

  886. the hole up, right? So I didn't learn from my

  887. mistake. So we got to learn from what

  888. what we what we're going through so that we can grow and move

  889. forward. Time I.

  890. Kick one of Braden's toys. I wake up in the morning and I

  891. kick it. You know, you kick a train or

  892. something like like, OK, I'll get it here in a minute.

  893. Then you forget about it. Then the next day you do it

  894. again like I thought I moved it. No, there's nothing like.

  895. Stepping on a Lego or a hot wheel at 2:00 in the morning,

  896. you know, Yeah. It'll make you say all those

  897. good, good, good words. Peter, James.

  898. Paul. Hallelujah.

  899. Oh yeah. So I guess, I guess one question

  900. for you is, I guess having an experience because you've been

  901. under several pastors, but you're also now you've been a

  902. pastor for eight years and obviously oppressed, bitter, but

  903. what do you look for in a church?

  904. Wherever you're like, man, I want like, because we all we all

  905. need somebody who's always like, you know, helping, but somebody

  906. in your church like what's like speak from experience of being

  907. the person who who, who helps further the the message out.

  908. Maybe not from the pastor's side.

  909. And then also as a pastor, what you look for was somebody who's

  910. who's who's like, I want them involved.

  911. I want you to I want, I want to help encourage them base.

  912. I want to light their fire. So.

  913. As a pastor, I think, man, you look for hunger if somebody's

  914. hungry for the things of God, but it's limitless where they

  915. can go. Faithfulness, man, I, I don't

  916. know about you guys, but just having somebody that's faithful

  917. means a lot. You know, it's, it's going to be

  918. hard to hear. Well done thou good and faithful

  919. servant. If you're not faithful, you

  920. know, so a man, just faithful people.

  921. I'll be honest with you, man, when we have some great people

  922. in our church, God has really blessed us.

  923. We have a young couple here and I'm not going to call their

  924. names, but we have a young couple here came to us several

  925. years ago. They were backsliders and came

  926. to us and we just loved them, loved them where they were,

  927. helped them grow, taught them Bible studies and and and man

  928. that they're now a key part of our church.

  929. I mean Sunday school teachers board member, I mean all the all

  930. the things just great growth. And so, but they've they bought

  931. in. They were faithful.

  932. They were hungry for God. And so that's man, if you got

  933. somebody's hunger for God, man, you can, you can work with that.

  934. I don't care where they're coming from.

  935. I don't care how far away they are.

  936. If they've got a hunger for God, man, you can take that and you

  937. can work with that. If they're going to be faithful,

  938. you can take that, work with that.

  939. So that's good. From a pastor's point of view,

  940. we we've asked a couple with Lacombe and Brother Pendant, and

  941. I don't know how much people are listening to it.

  942. So we'll try to drive it home a little harder, but everybody

  943. feels like when they're, when they're feeling a call that

  944. especially from for men, it's behind the pulpit.

  945. I'm a, I'm a preacher. That's all I'm going to do.

  946. And you mentioned it a little bit earlier, but there's so much

  947. more to ministry than just speaking from behind the pulpit

  948. or playing an instrument or singing.

  949. There's, you know, just all the different things that you can

  950. do. So from a pastor's perspective,

  951. what, what can you just put put some more on the emphasis or the

  952. value of having people who are willing to not only be ministers

  953. in those regards, but also be, be servants, be the minister,

  954. Sunday school teacher, be the, the nursery teacher, the one who

  955. doesn't get all the attention, but is really a pretty pivotal

  956. part and, and in the church community as a whole.

  957. Well, the Bible tells us this, Johnny, the Bible tells us that,

  958. you know, the hand can't say the food that I have no need of

  959. thee, you know, and, and so, but he puts all these different

  960. parts in the body. So the body is not deformed.

  961. And so not everybody's going to get up every Sunday and preach.

  962. Not everybody can pastor. Not everybody's going to be the

  963. adult Bible teacher. Not everybody's going to be the,

  964. you know, teach the youth class. Not everybody's going to do.

  965. Not everybody's going to sing. Trust me, they don't want me

  966. singing. Matter of fact, Monica makes me

  967. stand on the opposite side of the church.

  968. So, so it's funny, so not everybody can, can do

  969. everything. I, I'm not gifted, I'm not

  970. talented when it comes to music or instruments, anything like

  971. that. I don't, I, I, that's not my

  972. thing. So I just get up and yell at

  973. people all I do. And so, but my, The thing is, is

  974. that there is a place in the church in the body for every

  975. member, every member. And so, man, it's so important

  976. that you find whatever gifting talent ability that you have and

  977. put that to work in the Kingdom. There are.

  978. It's amazing to me, the people that work behind the scenes are

  979. just as important as the people that work up front.

  980. So everybody sees we have, we have media people here that do

  981. our media and stuff, man, when they're not here, I'm lost.

  982. I'm like, I don't know where, how we're going to have church.

  983. So, you know, if, if, if part of our worship teams here are not

  984. here for whatever reason, vacation, whatever, you know,

  985. man, I, I feel like we're missing an arm that day, you

  986. know, And so if, if, if we have a live class, Sunday school

  987. class teacher that's not here, then we're juggling trying to

  988. figure out how we going to fill that role.

  989. So nursery is, is important, man.

  990. We have a, a, a, a team that takes care of the yard here, you

  991. know, and so I'm thankful for every one of those guys.

  992. Now here's the thing. Some of those guys are, they're

  993. growing, they're learning, they're that, you know, so I

  994. think that we need to find a way to plug everybody in to some

  995. form of ministry. It may not be platform ministry,

  996. but it is some kind of ministry because connection to the

  997. church, connection to the Kingdom of God is so important.

  998. And so we're, you know, I, I think that people have to have

  999. to buy in, be faithful, but you also got to connect them.

1000. And so I, I don't know if that answers your question, but

  1001. that's, that's, that's. Spot on SO.

1002. So we kind of talked about some of the some of your early life

1003. experiences, but have there ever been any like times in your life

1004. other than whenever you heard the audible voice of God?

1005. But like, maybe it wasn't a situation in your life.

1006. Maybe the situation is somebody else's life where you said, I

1007. know, I know that was God. I know he's real right now

1008. because I you know, I know he's in the room.

1009. Basically man, how much time you.

1010. Got the the the it's man so many times so many times I've seen

1011. God do so many great things. I'll tell you a couple stories

1012. today about a few things that miraculously happened.

1013. This was probably four or five years before we ever got to life

1014. gate the church we were in. We had a lady literally fell

1015. over dead in the in the church. I mean, had a heart attack, fell

1016. over dead in the church. I'm, I'm not a medical

1017. professional, but we had several nurses in the church.

1018. I mean, they were pulse, no pulse, no breath.

1019. She's dead. 911 ambulance is on the way.

1020. We went to prayer. By the time the ambulance got

1021. there, the lady was setting up alive.

1022. So it's amazing, you know, the things that God did.

1023. I mean, literally when I say literally fell over, like

1024. slumped over the Pew in front of her, you know, like standing up

1025. and then fell over. So I mean like, so it was very

1026. dramatic. What a what a great miracle.

1027. You know, there was no doubt God, God, you know, it's like,

1028. wow, what a power and people. Try to say that that doesn't

1029. happen anymore. That's just crazy to me.

1030. I'm an all witness. You come too late to tell me.

  1031. Yeah. It's like how?

1032. Can you know, I see that all the time.

1033. Be like, well, that stuff stopped in the in the New

1034. Testament that stops. It's like somebody forgot to

1035. told God that because he still did.

  1036. Exactly. Exactly.

  1037. Yeah. It still happens.

1038. I mean, and it's amazing the things that happen, man,

1039. there's, there's so many things. I could tell you Kay, when he

1040. was, when he was small, had a soy allergy.

1041. This was actually when I was at Lifegate, had a soy allergy.

  1042. Man, that's a, that's a huge thing.

1043. I know we're dealing with a lot of kids with allergies now.

1044. We went to prayer about it, prayed and prayed and prayed.

1045. It was a, it was a big deal, you know, big deal.

1046. And so one morning Kay got up and he, he came to me said, I

  1047. mean, he was little. I mean, I don't know, 5 maybe.

1048. And he came to me and he said, dad, the, the Lord told me he

1049. was going to heal me, you know, and I'm thinking, oh, that's

1050. five year old whatever, you know, But man, I said, what

1051. really that's great. I believe that we're going to

1052. pray that. So we started praying and, and

1053. so man, next six months or so wrote, rocked on, rolled around

1054. and he goes back to the go back to the doctor and he goes in and

1055. the doctor says, man, I, I, you're not allergic to anything

1056. anymore. So Cade calls me.

1057. Now you got to understand, Cade calls me from his mom's phone

1058. and he said, Dad, you're not going to believe where I'm at.

1059. And I said, where you at? He said, I'm at Sonic.

1060. I said, what are you doing at Sonic?

1061. He said, I'm eating a corn dog and having ice cream.

1062. You know, because he had not been able to do that.

1063. You know, we had to make everything because everything

1064. got soy in it. So he was a miracle.

1065. You know, it was something God did.

1066. And so, but man, the list could go on and on of miracles, things

1067. that I've seen. But there have been some very

1068. powerful services that I've been in conferences.

1069. But I'm going to be honest with you, man, some of the most, some

1070. of the most life changing. I don't want to throw that word

1071. around just to be saying it was life changing.

1072. But some of the most dynamic services I've ever been in have

1073. been prayer meetings, have been communion services where we're

  1074. taking communion. I think it's because it's a,

  1075. it's a commitment. It's a, it's a dedication.

1076. It's a, you know, consecration. And so, you know, we've searched

1077. your soul. You're about to take communion.

1078. You're asking God, God, if there's anything in me, you

1079. know, cleanse me, make me pure, make me holy.

1080. You know, let me, let me be like you want me to be.

1081. And and so during those moments is when God draws near 20 when

1082. he shows up, You know, we had we've had some of those services

1083. here, you know, that where the power of God would just be so

1084. powerful. I love the shout, I love the

1085. room. I love all that women.

1086. I'm for it 100%. And I've been in some great

1087. services, you know, camp meeting conferences, numerous

1088. conferences. And so I'm thankful for all

1089. that. But some of the deepest moves of

1090. the Holy Ghost have just been kind of a where the Spirit of

1091. God lingers. I mean, you can almost see the

1092. glory of God fill the house. And so man, it's so powerful

1093. when that happens. And it's in those moments where

1094. you can, the Lord can change you it because you've been in a

1095. wrestling match and the Lord, when you wrestle the Lord

1096. changes things, right? You're going to leave here

1097. walking different Jacob. You're going to walk out of here

1098. and you're, you know, you're going to no longer be Jacob,

1099. you're going to be Israel. And so there's going to be a

1100. great powerful thing that happens.

1101. And I think we need more of those services.

1102. I'm all about to shout. I want us to shout.

1103. I encourage our people and let's get, you know, run the aisles,

1104. you know, let's let's, you know, let's do what we let's do what

1105. apostolics do. But but there also is a time

1106. when we need to linger in the presence of God and let God

1107. really do something in us. But like so.

1108. Like, but how would how would but when, how do you think we

1109. would we can develop more of that because that's a mindset to

1110. an extent to come in there. Like, how would you?

  1111. Yeah, I think you're saying it's.

  1112. Like an intentionality. Intentionality.

1113. You really want to get. Into the deeper things an

  1114. expectation. Kind of thing.

  1115. Yeah. Spiritual.

1116. Disciplines, right? So if the only time you pray is

1117. on Sunday, you're probably not going to get to a deep spot with

1118. the Lord. You're probably going to be very

1119. shallow, you know, and, and so if you, but if you learn to have

1120. a relationship with him and you pray and you fast, I'm hungry

1121. right now. But if you fast, you know, if

1122. you fast and if you study the word of God and you're faithful

1123. to the House of God, I think through those spiritual

1124. disciplines, you can the Lord honors those.

1125. So because you've been faithful over a few things, the Lord

1126. said, I'm going to show up in this service and I'm going to

1127. I'm going to show out today. Watch me do what I only I can do

1128. right. So God comes in and he says,

1129. man, I'm fixing it. I'm fixing just pour a blessing

1130. into this house. My spirit is about to just step

1131. in. And so, but it only again, if,

1132. if you don't pray and you don't seek the face of God, then those

1133. moments are rare. They don't happen very often.

1134. Our elders, they had deep moves of God very often, but it's

1135. because they were not so enticed with the entertainment of this

1136. world. And so I think so many times we

1137. get caught up with scrolling instead of praying.

1138. We get caught up in in, you know, filling our mind with with

1139. whatever, you know, some kind of entertainment instead of instead

1140. of making time to really seek God.

1141. But if we could ever get back to seek in the face of God, man, he

1142. would, he would he look, he longs to be in our to be with

1143. us. I mean, you know that he he

1144. wants to show up. He wants to do great things, but

1145. he wants you to want him to do that, you know?

1146. So when? We were talking to Brother

1147. Lacombe. He kind of echoed a little bit

1148. of that world because we were talking about how the revival

1149. services that his parents came at where you just came in,

1150. walked through the door and got the Holy Ghost immediately.

1151. And I was going to ask him, like, you know, why do you think

1152. that we don't see that as much anymore?

1153. Because you hear a lot of those stories.

1154. And he kind of echoed some of the same sentiments that like

1155. people now have so much going through their heads that

1156. nobody's really like in the moment with God, like it used to

1157. be, right? So getting back to that, I I.

1158. Often pray, Lord, help me to silence all the voices in this

1159. world so that I can hear you because God's not going to shout

1160. over everything right it very often it's that still small

1161. voice that speaks and so if you're constantly and we and

  1162. we're we're guilty of this. I mean, and I'm thankful for

1163. podcast. I'm honored to be on today, but

1164. very often we're always got something in our ear.

1165. It's an earbud. We're listening to podcasts,

1166. we're listening to auto book audio books, we're listening to

1167. whatever music and all this kind of different stuff.

1168. So God can't speak or you can't hear the voice of God if you

1169. always got something. So there has to be a time where

1170. it's just you and God, where you can say, OK, God, I want you to

1171. talk to me now and, and like you're.

1172. Saying individually any one of those things may not be wrong in

1173. and of itself. But the.

1174. Overload, at which we consume so much, means we don't have

1175. anything. We're not hungry when it comes

  1176. to God. That's right, because I'm.

1177. Thankful for Apostolic media. Yeah, Apostolic, you know,

1178. content, you know, I'm thankful for that because we need that in

1179. the world. I'm thankful for what you guys

1180. are doing. We need that.

1181. We need this voice. It's an Ave. it's an outreach.

1182. It's an Ave. It builds faith and you know, it

1183. helps spread the truth. I'm thankful for all that.

1184. We need all that. But all things in moderation,

1185. right? So if, if we're always

1186. listening, if we're always watching, we're always

1187. entertain, then we're then we have no time for God.

1188. When you have no time for God, he does.

1189. I mean, you, you cut out the most important thing, right?

1190. And, and so thankful. We need, we need good godly

1191. Apostolic content. But I also think if you spend,

1192. you know, 12 hours a day listening to Apostolic content,

1193. you're missing the voice of God, you know, So that's why so many.

1194. Like nowadays you hear a lot more often where people are

1195. focusing on when you pray and God protect my head, protect

1196. what I see and, and really put a helmet on me because it's just,

1197. there's such an attack coming on us just for our, for our minds

1198. and what we take in. It's it's crazy how how amped up

1199. it's gotten here recently too. Yeah.

1200. And I mean. Just and not to be not to be old

1201. man in the room, but you know what I mean?

1202. Like just the the changes I've seen since I was a kid with

1203. having dial up Internet, you know what I mean?

1204. Where you had it was a it was an act of Congress to get that

1205. thing booted. You know what I mean?

1206. To now, you know what I mean? The convenience is really there.

1207. I mean, we are, you know, second from anything, you know what I

  1208. mean? Constantly.

1209. It's amazing. What we can find on this on our

1210. phones, I mean, it is in an instant.

1211. I mean, so that's amazing, Yeah. And it's no wonder.

1212. Anxieties through the roof. I mean, you were like for

1213. myself, like you go through a time where you're so used to

1214. just if, if you're not physically doing something,

1215. you're scrolling, like you said, going through TikTok, going

1216. through these reels, you're constantly doing something that

1217. now it's to the point where it's like, well, if I do put

1218. everything down and I stop, I just like you feel like you got

1219. this ADDADHD because your brain is just so wired and so just

1220. ready to go. And that's just not the way

1221. you're supposed to be doing it. And then of course we want to

1222. medicate it and all that, But it's like, that's where, you

1223. know, they talk about fasting is not always just food.

1224. It's just fast your social media fast faster, Facebook fast,

1225. whatever it is that might be. If it takes more time than God,

  1226. it's. It's an idol.

1227. You know, and if it's something that if you, if someone brings

  1228. up, it's like, it's what I, I say all the time.

1229. If there's anything that, you know, if God says, Hey, I want

1230. you to stop doing that cold Turkey.

1231. And I put up a fight and I'm like, no, I don't want to do

1232. that. Well, then that thing has become

1233. more important than God. And that's where it's like I've

1234. been trying to work on myself. Like I don't want to have

1235. anything. That's like if he said I need

1236. you to stop just. You're done with.

  1237. That and I put up a fight then that's that's something that I

1238. definitely there's a reason why he's telling me to get rid of

1239. it, you know, because it's just that's what leads to all those

  1240. things because not. Everything's a sin.

1241. Some things are just to wait. And so sometimes the Lord's

1242. like, hey, you need to lay that down so that I can you can run

1243. this race, you know? And so that's very sometimes,

1244. and that's hard. It goes back to submission,

1245. right? Of my submitting my will to his

1246. will, you know, And so it's where we start to disagree.

1247. If God, I'm not, I don't want to do that, you know, Yeah, you

1248. don't want to do that. But are you going to be

1249. submitted to what you because I'm trying to get you somewhere,

1250. Abraham. Didn't want to kill his son, you

  1251. know so. I'll.

1252. I'll let you get a little personal here.

1253. You don't have to if you don't want to, but you know you,

1254. you're coming to this church, your passion, this church.

1255. And I've seen through Facebook, because I'm friends with friends

1256. with Monica and I'm friends with Cade, and I think it's super

1257. cool to see. For for Kade.

1258. And for the your kids, how involved they are.

1259. I can see it through the Facebook stuff, but I see Kade's

1260. preaching at some of it. And then I see that I was

1261. telling Camo he's up there playing the guitar.

1262. He's better than I am ever was. You know, Dylan's playing the

1263. drums, like you said, like take, I'll say get, I want a response

1264. for the pastor's helmet on, but put let's put our dad hat on.

1265. And, and how does that feel to, to see your kids so invested and

1266. so involved and knowing that they're, they're, they're in

1267. truth, just like you are? Man, that is it.

1268. It's such a such a great honor to see that my children are

1269. walking in truth, you know, there's no greater joy.

1270. The Bible says and know that your children walking through.

1271. So they're very involved in a lot of a lot of that things we

1272. do here and most of it's by choice.

1273. I say that because Dylan helps with Kingdom kids on on

1274. Wednesday nights and it's not really what he wants to do, but

1275. it but you know, I've kind of hey, buddy ministry is about not

1276. just about what we want to do. Sometimes it's about what needs

1277. to be done. And so, but he's a good sport

1278. about it most of the time. So, but man, just to see, to see

1279. them be so involved in in everything.

1280. And you know, when we came here, I was about 15 people and it was

1281. hard. It was hard for our hard for our

1282. kids, but to to see where the church is at now, where we're

1283. going. I mean, we're not where we want

1284. to be, but the Lord's done great things and we continue to see

1285. the church grow and move forward.

1286. And the room we're in right now used to be 1 giant room.

1287. We had to add another classroom. So we divided it, put another

1288. door in because we were out of out of Sunday school rooms.

1289. So I said that just to the just for the fact that God is doing

1290. great things, but I want to it's a lot of it's because my family,

1291. my children especially bought in and said, Hey, we want to help

1292. see the church grow. And so I'm thankful for that.

1293. You know, I'm thankful and I pray, brother.

1294. I believe it was for the Wayne Huntley said this one time he

1295. said, I pray over our children, not just his children, but the

1296. children is church. God give them gifts, talents,

1297. abilities and expertise that honor heaven and horrify hell.

1298. And so I pray that over my children, God, I want, God I

1299. want, I pray that you'd give them gifts, talents, abilities

1300. and expertise that honor heaven and horrify hell because I want

1301. them to use those giftings and talents for the Kingdom of God.

  1302. I Dylan's a good drummer. Kate's a good plays guitar.

1303. He's good at it. JC can sing and they got all

1304. that from the mom and from the Lord, so OK, he's preaching.

1305. I saw that and he'll be speaking so.

1306. Like his dad, yeah, unfortunately I think he's long

1307. winded like his dad. So, but, but I'm proud of them.

  1308. They they're doing a great job. And so they're they're they're a

1309. huge part of what's happening here at Green Hill.

1310. So I'm thankful for that. And so man, just as just as

1311. pastor, I don't want to do it without him as dad.

1312. I'm super excited that they're they're wanting to give their

1313. talents to the Kingdom of God. And I I so seven years of life,

1314. Kate, had to have been a lot of funny, interesting things that

1315. happened outside of the baptismal tank.

1316. Any of that come to mind off top of your head?

1317. Oh my. See, things I think about was

1318. like when we went to, like when Colby and I went to because of

1319. times you introduced us to the people's Elbow, OK.

  1320. I forgot about that. That's good.

1321. That's so good, man. We had a lot of great times,

1322. man, a lot of good stuff. I I remember, you know, I

1323. remember with with the young people, all the youth group, you

1324. guys would wait till it gets dark outside.

1325. We play move over. May I remember that, you know,

1326. instead of playing hide and go seek, you play move over.

1327. And I remember one time I went and hid and the behind Rd. old

1328. railroad bed, the building, we had an old church sign that

1329. leaned up and I climbed behind that church sign.

1330. I'm a big guy, so get behind there was difficult, but but I

1331. got behind that church sign and I could hear you guys coming

1332. around and I was sitting back there.

1333. I'm just, I'm I'm trying not to laugh out loud, you know,

1334. cables. Where did the Shane go?

1335. Where's he at? We can't find him anywhere.

1336. And I'm just like, man, I'm, you know, because it's dark back

1337. there. So, so it was great.

1338. So we have a lot of great memories.

1339. You know, I'm in camouflage egg hunts at night, you know, and so

1340. with running over the eggs in. The morning 0.

1341. Yeah. So, you know, lot lot of great

1342. lot of great memories. We had a great time.

1343. I do remember we were going to youth Congress one time and

1344. Jason Brister rear into the church.

1345. I remember that. I remember that was to what?

1346. Was that that wasn't the Oklahoma, That was the was that

1347. the Louisville or Oklahoma? Louisville, I think.

1348. It was Louisville, I think. It was my first one because I

1349. remember just like we're in the van and we're all like falling

1350. asleep and next thing I know it's just like bang.

1351. I was like, whoa. I think he got out and said,

1352. yeah, it was, it was either hit you or have somebody hit him in

1353. the back. He's like, I'd rather barely did

1354. anything to the van, but that was funny.

1355. So there's a lot of things, man, a lot of great memories, you

1356. know, man, I know, you know, brother Mullins has since went

1357. on to his reward, but I remember a lot of times his cabin, you

1358. know, just just hanging out the guys up there and doing a lot of

1359. stuff. And, and so we man, we had great

1360. memories. And then the then the spiritual

1361. side of that is man, so many great memories of people get in

1362. the Holy Ghost to church growing, you know, God just

1363. working different miracles. And so thankful for that.

1364. You know, I'm thankful for the experience of getting me a life

1365. gate for 7 1/2 years. So yeah, there was.

1366. I might cut this out, I don't know, but there was one service

1367. we had. I'll never forget it.

1368. And the reason why I bring this up now is because you were a

1369. heavy part of it. Not that you I don't think you

1370. were preaching. It was, it was, it was brother

1371. Penny was preaching, but man, it was a, it was a service that was

1372. so. I mean, the presence of God was

1373. so thick and I was a teenager and, and new to it, but man, I,

1374. it was the first time that ever. It was just in the middle of

1375. preaching. You just, nobody could, nobody

1376. could focus or anything. And, and you got up and you

1377. started speaking in tongues and it was like, there's something

1378. different about this. And then brother Penny went on

1379. to give the interpretation. I don't know if you remember the

1380. service or not, but that was like I, that was one of those

1381. service. I tell my dad all the time.

1382. I said that was the service. That was a service where I was

1383. like, Holy Ghost aside, all that stuff aside, that was like, this

1384. is what it must have been like in acts.

1385. And I'm just like that. That was that was a service.

1386. I'll never forget that. I forget what he was speaking

1387. on, but I just remembered the end of it and I was like wow.

1388. Man, those are some amazing times when God speaks to his

1389. people through the through the gifts.

1390. And so I think that's the reason why we are to, you know, desire,

1391. earnestly desire those gifts because I think God can speak a

1392. word to us directly through those things and so are through

1393. those gifts. So we need, we need those

1394. operating in the church. And so I don't remember exactly

1395. the service you're talking about, but I have been in

1396. several services where the Lord would show up like that and, and

1397. speak and, and if people just respond when he's, when he

1398. speaks, it's amazing what happens, you know, so.

1399. I guess, you know, being yourself, being how, how do you,

1400. how do you kind of yield to the presence of the Lord whenever

1401. you feel like? Because some people really

1402. struggle to kind of like get past that.

1403. Is this just me thinking that or is God really moving on me to do

1404. something that might be out of character?

1405. You know what I mean? Yeah.

1406. And so, man, I'll be honest with you, it's like, it's like

1407. learning to walk. I mean, it's you grow into it.

1408. The first time I was ever used in the gifts of tongues or

1409. interpretation of tongues, man, I was nervous as a cat on a hot

1410. tin roof, you know, so I was, I mean, I, you know, because

1411. you're always struggling with that.

1412. OK, is this me or is it God, you know, and so you're, you're

1413. dealing with, with all that, all that because you don't want to

1414. get in the flesh. You don't want to say they'll

1415. saith the Lord and it really be dominoes.

1416. You know what I'm saying? You know, so, so you have to you

1417. know, and, and being sensitive that goes back to your prayer

1418. life, learning to hear the voice of God, which is so important

1419. because like I made mention earlier, there's only one time

1420. God's ever spoke to me audible, but he spoke to me many times.

1421. It's just learning to hear the voice of God and learning what

1422. God sounds like to you. And so, but when those gifts of

1423. the Spirit, when they start operating, man, my experience

1424. is, is it sometimes God will give me the first word of an

1425. interpretation and I, I may not know anything that's going to be

1426. said after that. But if I, if I just yield myself

1427. and open my mouth to that first word, man, the Holy Ghost just

1428. starts, you know, it's the same way.

1429. And so when the gifts of tongues, the gift of tongues,

1430. when I'm, the times I've been used in the gift of tongues, it,

1431. it's usually an overwhelming presence of God.

  1432. And it's man. I just, I feel it like I feel

1433. man, this is, this is coming. I can feel it like it's

1434. building, like maybe it's during the message, you know, I know

1435. that man God's God's God's about to give us a word, you know, and

1436. so I can feel it. And then it's just simply

  1437. responding, you know, surrendering.

1438. It's an OK God, go ahead. And then when that comes, when

1439. that comes up on you, man, open your mouth and let that out.

1440. Nine times out of 10, there's usually a holy hush that falls

1441. over the congregation, you know. And so when that hush falls over

1442. the congregation, the Lord begins to speak.

1443. And then obviously you're, you're speaking in other

1444. tongues. So you don't, you don't know

1445. what you're saying. But then there have been times

1446. when you got to wait for the interpretation, you know, And so

1447. sometimes, sometimes the interpretation comes almost

1448. immediately. And sometimes they're just like,

1449. OK, we're having to, we're waiting here.

1450. We're waiting here to see what God, I was in the service couple

1451. weeks ago, Tongues, tongues went forth and, and man, it's just

1452. like 5 minutes of just, we're just waiting, we're just

1453. waiting. But I knew God was about to

1454. speak. You could just feel it in the

1455. air. And so my encouragement to

1456. people are #1 is to, to ask God or I would I want to be used in

1457. those gifts, You know. And so we need, we need people

1458. in the body of Christ because we need the gifts, the gifts

1459. operating. And so ask the Lord desire,

1460. earnestly desire those gifts and, and ask God for those.

1461. And then when the opportunity comes and you feel the Lord

1462. leading you, the devil is not going to tell you to get up and,

1463. and, and give tongues and interpretation.

1464. You know what I'm saying? Now you're flesh if you're not

1465. careful, if you're flesh, especially if you're somebody

1466. that wants the spotlight, you know, you have to be real

1467. careful with that. But but man, it's such a, it's

1468. such a humbling thing to think that God is going to somehow use

1469. my mouth, my voice to speak directly to us.

1470. And so man, just honestly desire those gifts.

1471. Learn to yield to it. It's like I said, it's like

1472. walking. You're going, you may stumble

1473. and fall, but man, get back up and try again the next time at

1474. the Lord's leading, you know, so so.

1475. Obviously, with all that being said, you would, you would.

1476. I don't want to say scoff, but you would.

1477. You know, when when people try to say that the the gifts don't

1478. happen anymore, tongues don't happen anymore?

1479. That's just not a thing. Obviously from all the

1480. experiences you've had, you can confidently say they do.

1481. Yeah. We can sit down and argue

1482. theology, but you can't argue. Again, you can't argue with my

1483. experience. I've seen it happen too many

1484. times. I've been in too many of those

1485. services. I've heard the voice of God

1486. speak through people multiple times.

1487. We when we were when we were getting ready to leave Life

1488. Gate, we were starting to evangelize, going to start to

1489. evangelize. There was a there was a man

1490. preaching as used in the gifts. I never met him before.

1491. He didn't know me from Adam's house cat.

1492. You know, he had no clue who we were.

1493. We went to service that night. He preached, did a wonderful

1494. job. And afterwards during the altar

1495. service, he came to me, begin to talk to me and said, I feel like

1496. the Lord's got a, got a word for you tonight and begin to speak.

1497. And so he was. He was operating in the gifts of

1498. knowledge, wisdom, prophecy, I believe.

1499. And, and so he began to say things to to myself and to

1500. Monica that he didn't know, had no way of knowing, never met

1501. him. He didn't know anything about

1502. us. But it was a confirmation that

1503. that it was time for us to start evangelizing.

1504. And so again, he didn't know that he had no clue.

1505. He didn't know who he were. And then that same service, one

1506. thing that impressed me about this particular man was that

1507. Jaycee was, I don't know, she was 12 maybe at the time or

1508. something like that. He asked me, says that your

1509. daughter, she was sitting behind, behind me.

1510. And I said, yes. He said, I feel like the Lord's

1511. got a word for her. He said, but you're her

1512. spiritual covering at would you come with me?

1513. And so the gifts of the Spirit are never going to get out of

1514. alignment with your spiritual authority and spiritual

1515. covering. So just throw that in for good

1516. measure. But this, this man begin to

1517. minister to JC and begin to tell her some things that he had no

1518. way of knowing man. And I told her when we got in

1519. the car that I said you need to open your Bible right now and

1520. you take a pen out, you need to write in the front cover what he

1521. told you because it is a word for you for the next few years.

1522. And it was man, it just, I mean, it was so powerful.

1523. So you come too late to tell me the gifts of the Spirit don't

1524. operate. I mean, you just, I mean, man,

1525. people that argue with that can take a scripture, you know, and,

1526. and I don't have time to get into that, but you know, like

1527. they can take a scripture and and say, you know, that when

1528. that which is perfect is come, you know, it's going to be done

  1529. away. Here's the thing, man, you've

1530. just come too late to tell me that all these gifts are not

1531. still operating. I've seen it happen.

1532. I've been in those services, I've been used in those gifts.

1533. And so I know what happens that's like miracles and I know

1534. that happened. Then I could I got a list of

1535. miracles. I could tell you.

  1536. I mean, it's just it's, it's amazing so.

1537. Not to put you on the spot here and.

1538. But. There's a lot of people who who

1539. talk about, take the First Corinthians, you know, argument

1540. basically when it talks about the gifts of the Spirit, and

1541. they kind of try to contextualize the Acts 238

1542. experience into the gifts experience.

1543. You know what I mean? What would you say from your

1544. experience is the difference between when the gifts of tongue

1545. is operating versus that initial sign of the Holy Ghost that

1546. people experience? You know what I mean?

  1547. Yeah. So the gifts.

1548. Of tongues if they're operating there's going to be an

1549. interpretation and so the the initial evidence of receiving

1550. the baptism of the Holy Ghost with with tongues.

1551. We find that Acts chapter 2 verse one through 4.

    Acts 2 chapter mention

1552. You know the Holy Ghost fell on them and they're appearing them

1553. cloven tongues like as a fire. And so when we begin to when you

1554. begin to study that out begin to think about that the the gift of

1555. the Holy Ghost is clearly for everybody.

1556. Not everybody will be used in the gift of tongues and

1557. interpretation. I do think that the gift of

1558. tongues and interpretation is used for special occasions when

1559. the Lord has a direct word for us.

1560. But again, we see people, I would love to say on a weekly

1561. basis, but not on a weekly basis, but very often hear

1562. filled with the Holy Ghost and the evidence of that is speaking

1563. other tongues. I always tell everybody, tongues

1564. is not the Holy Ghost. Tongues is the evidence of the

1565. Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is simply the

1566. Spirit of God, the Spirit of Christ living inside of you.

1567. And so how do we know it's living inside of you?

1568. Well, there's going to be some, some evidence that's going to

1569. come forth. That's the gift.

1570. That's the gift of tongues or tongues as the initial evidence

1571. of speaking in, in ER, as initial evidence of receiving

1572. the Holy Ghost. But then the gift of tongues

1573. that they they operate in a different manner.

1574. Most the time. Most of the time the gift of

1575. tongues happens through my experience is they happen

1576. through more seasoned Saints of God.

1577. And so because they've learned to yield to that and and to

1578. follow. But there if it is the gift of

1579. tongues, there will be an interpretation of tongues.

1580. And so those things operate in tandem.

1581. They work together where if we may walk into service tomorrow

1582. and we may have many people speaking in tongues and we

1583. should Paul even said I speak in tongues more than you all, you

1584. know, and he and so he's not telling us, don't speak in

1585. tongues. He tell us, Hey, we need to do

1586. that, you know, but then he goes on tells us, you know, but not

1587. only do I speak in tongues, but you also need to be able to pray

1588. in English and you know, and have a conversation with the

1589. Lord, you know, so there's AI mean that's a whole study we

1590. could get into. You would take longer than you

  1591. guys, but there's, I mean definitely, definitely there's a

1592. difference in the initial evidence of receiving the Holy

1593. Ghost and then in the the operation of the spiritual

1594. gifts. While on that subject, just

1595. because we're on that subject and I, I hope nobody listens to

1596. this and thinks all he's talking about me.

1597. But you know, there are some people who, and this was me

1598. before I got the Holy Ghost. But you, you know, you're, it's,

1599. you feel like it's hard. Not everybody gets the Holy

1600. Ghost the first time they go to the altar and lift their hands.

1601. And sometimes it, it takes a while and there's things that

1602. you got to go through mentally or whatever the case may be.

1603. So you know, what would be, I guess it would be give us some

1604. encouragement on someone who's maybe struggling with the idea

1605. of I'm trying to get the Holy Ghost.

1606. I just haven't gotten it. What's you know, some people get

1607. discouraged by that. What would be some encouragement

1608. on that front from your experience for people who might

1609. be dealing with something like that?

1610. Seek. God don't seek tongues.

1611. That's good. So because I think sometimes

1612. we're so caught up in I've got to speak in tongues, I've got to

1613. speak in tongues. That's how I know I get the Holy

1614. Ghost. And that is true.

1615. But here's the thing, you seek the presence of God.

1616. When you seek the presence of God, you're seeking the Holy

1617. Ghost. That is what it is.

1618. It's the Holy Spirit, it's the presence of God.

1619. So when you seek him, seek his face, just God, whatever I got

1620. to do to be close to you. And then I'll be honest with

1621. you. Sometimes there is a tearing up,

1622. you know, a lingering. It takes some people, man, they

1623. get the Holy Ghost just like that.

1624. Some people it's some people it, it just takes a while.

  1625. I mean, they have a maybe they're, maybe they're shy or

1626. backwards or intimidated or, and let's be honest, we don't make

1627. it easy sometimes, you know, an Apostolic alter service.

1628. And when we evangelize, we taught altar workers seminars.

1629. And so when, when you know, and I try to tell them one of the

1630. most chaotic places in the world is an Apostolic altar service,

1631. right? Because what happens is somebody

1632. gets up there and they start praying and 15 people get around

1633. them and 15 people are hollering, you know, 15

1634. different things. Let go hold on, you know, you

1635. know, shout Hallelujah, you know, And So what I what we did

1636. when we when we evangelize and we tried to we we taught these

1637. altar works and we try to teach people.

1638. Hey, you don't take all that man, it don't take all that.

1639. And so one person needs to be helping give instructions.

1640. Now let me just clear the air right here.

1641. You can't teach anybody speak in tongues.

1642. That's foolishness, right. The Bible clearly tells us that

1643. the spirit gave the utterance the Spirit gave the ability.

1644. I'm not teaching anybody, but I can't help them to know how to

1645. entertain the presence of God and move into that.

1646. I'll be honest with you, one of the greatest tools we had when

1647. when we were on the on the evangelistic field and even in

1648. our church today is my wife. She is uniquely gifted to pray

1649. people through the Holy Ghost. Some people are just that way.

1650. They know what to say, how to say it.

1651. We were, I'll give you this illustration and I'll go back,

1652. but a couple weeks ago we were preaching in Lanette, Alabama

1653. for Brother Gary Mcneely and they have some Hispanic people

1654. in their congregation. Well, I've never felt more

  1655. unequipped. I mean, I wish I could speak

1656. Spanish, but so we're we're trying to pray the pray with

1657. these people, but we're having to pray through an interpreter,

1658. right. So we're having to trying to

1659. help them through an interpreter.

1660. So, but man, my wife is so you so gifted, so talented in that

1661. she's working through an interpreter.

1662. A lady in after service in the pastor's office, My wife gets in

1663. there, sits down beside her and she's working through an

  1664. interpreter. Man, 10 minutes.

1665. This lady's received the gift of the Holy Ghost, man, You know,

1666. it's just amazing some people are gifted to do that.

1667. And so I'm thankful for that. But the key I think The thing

1668. is, is that we seek him. We don't see tongues.

1669. And so repentance, you're not going to get the Holy Ghost if

1670. you don't repent, right? And you're not going to get the

1671. Holy Ghost if you don't open your mouth and speak.

1672. You can't speak in tongues if you don't open your mouth,

1673. right? So if you're sitting there with

1674. y'all, you know, with your mouth closed, you got to say something

1675. in order for the Lord to take control and to speak through

1676. this most unruly member you know.

1677. And so and so the only way you're going to do that is if

1678. you open your mouth. So a lot of times if I was

1679. praying with Cameron to get the Holy Ghost, I would say,

1680. Cameron, open your mouth and say, I love you, Jesus.

1681. Don't whisper. You ain't got to yell it, but

1682. don't whisper just but you need to be audible.

1683. And so if you're not audible, then we don't then we then then

1684. God's not going to be able to speak through you, right?

1685. So open your mouth, say Hallelujah, say Jesus, I love

1686. you. And so when you do that, after

1687. we've repented, then we begin to praise God and we begin to

1688. praise God. We know that God inhabits,

1689. dwells, lives in the presence of his people.

1690. So when we begin to praise him, but some people are quiet,

1691. they're intimidated. And so they have a problem

1692. opening their mouth and saying something.

1693. Well, it's very hard to receive the Holy Ghost.

1694. People open your mouth. And so that's one of the

1695. hindrances. Another hindrance would be if if

1696. they're paying attention to everybody around them instead of

1697. focusing on God. And so they're, they're trying

1698. to listen to 15 people. And, and, and that's the reason

1699. why I tell people if, if we're praying in the office with

1700. somebody, a lot of times I'll tell them, Hey, hold on a

1701. minute, you guys begin to worship, right?

1702. Everybody worship and let, let me give some instructions or let

1703. my wife give some instructions. And then what we'll do as we

1704. move into that realm of worship, God's presence is going to

1705. manifest itself. And here's the thing, I think

1706. sometimes we think is apostolics, if if we slow down

1707. and give instructions, we're going to lose the Spirit.

1708. Well, God wants them to have the Holy Ghost more than you want

1709. them to have the Holy Ghost. So you're not going to lose the

1710. Spirit. The Spirit's still going to be

1711. there. The Spirit of God's still going

1712. to be there. So sometimes if they're going

1713. 1,000,000 miles in the wrong direction, you need to stop them

1714. and turn them around. Yeah.

1715. So because I've heard people that get in a such a repetitive

1716. motion of repenting, God, I'm sorry, God, I'm sorry, God, I'm

1717. sorry, God, I'm sorry, God, I'm sorry.

1718. And, and, and we need to repent, right?

1719. That's part of it. But there comes a point where

1720. you need to stop repenting and start worshipping.

1721. So if you'll start worshipping man, the Spirit of God then can

1722. come in. And so it's just a matter of us

1723. teaching, training, coaching, helping people, and that's just.

1724. Understanding that when you repent it, that's it's it's done

  1725. right, It's a. Trust that's.

1726. Right it. Sounds like there's also on the

1727. on the Saints themselves, a discipline and a submission to

1728. the man of God that's over that church, but also just in your

1729. own self to know, you know, hey, if there's two or three people

1730. praying over this person, I don't need to go and get

1731. involved unless obviously if God is really impressing on you to

1732. go in to go and pray for him. But you know, it takes some

1733. discipline to just not flood each person that comes up there

1734. because sometimes that can scare him off.

1735. Sure. So let me tell you the story.

1736. So years ago we were evangelizing, I was preaching in

1737. the church North SE and West of here.

1738. And we were, I had been preaching, we got to the altar

1739. call and I had asked anybody that needed the Holy Ghost to

1740. come forward. And so we had, I don't know,

1741. four or five people lined up, needed the Holy Ghost.

1742. And I was giving instructions about ready to start praying for

1743. people and all of a sudden around from behind me comes this

1744. hand like he's this person's fixing to lay their hand on.

1745. And I'm like, we're not there yet.

1746. I didn't know who it was. I was not paying a bit of

1747. attention who was behind me. I was reached over and catch and

1748. I said not yet. And I never even turned around.

1749. Not yet, right. And so, because I knew where I

1750. was giving instructions, we were building.

1751. We were people were about to get totally ghost and so and then so

1752. we went on we pray if we have four or five, get the Holy Ghost

1753. that night. Powerful move of the Holy Ghost.

1754. And then I realized it was the pastor that was about to lay

1755. hands on him and so I went to him afterwards.

1756. I said, pastor, I said, I want you to forgive me.

1757. I didn't realize that was you. He said, no, I was wrong.

1758. You were right. You were giving instructions.

1759. I was about to step out of line. You needed you needed to finish

1760. doing what you're doing. So, but me as an evangelist, I,

1761. I was submitted to that man and went to him afterwards to say,

1762. hey, I, you know, I so, but I'm afraid what would happen was

1763. because I was still trying to give instructions, that person

1764. may not have received the Holy Ghost that night because they

1765. may not have received what they, the instructions they needed

1766. right there. We got distracted.

1767. So it was just the Lord that worked it out.

1768. But man giving instructions, so important people do need support

1769. when they're on in the altar. We have this we have this

1770. misconceived idea in Pentecost that they got to be standing up

1771. with their hands lifted. The Bible said the Holy Ghost

1772. fell on while they were sitting. And so man, we've had people get

1773. the Holy Ghost sitting in chairs in the altar.

1774. I know the first person I ever heard say that was Brother Billy

1775. Cole. And when he when he made that

1776. statement, it was like, man, you could feel everybody.

1777. And you know, Oh my Lord, you know, I can't do it that way.

1778. But, and so, but just the, just the fact that we have these

1779. misconceived ideas of man, this is how somebody's got to receive

1780. the, they got to have their hands lifted, they got to be

1781. crying. They got to be, you know, and,

1782. and really, there's so many different ways people respond in

1783. different ways. But here's the great thing about

1784. the presence of God. It doesn't matter.

1785. It doesn't matter as long as you're surrendered and he'll

1786. fill you with the Holy Ghost. And a lot of people need to be

1787. baptized first too, because they carry such a weight, you know,

1788. and so there's a reason why it's repent water baptism in Jesus

1789. name and then filling of the Holy Ghost.

1790. I know sometimes that's reversed in scripture.

1791. You get the Holy Ghost, then you then you're baptized.

1792. But some people really do need to be in the water before they

1793. get the holiest. We've had many, many get the

1794. Holy Ghost in the water here because it does something to

1795. them. It lets them know and I'm clean

1796. because a lot of times God may have forgiven them, but they may

1797. not have forgiven their self. But when they come out of that

1798. water after the Jesus name has been applied to him, it just.

1799. I mean, it leaves a bird. Yeah, but it's also like I.

1800. Would also imagine it's like a signal of submission and

1801. obedience, you know, to to to the Lord to say, you know, I

1802. mean this. I mean this, this is serious.

1803. To me, and sometimes you can think it in your head that

1804. you're serious about it, but sometimes you have to act it out

1805. and prove it. So I I would I would throw that

1806. in there. I was just going to say thank

1807. you so much for for being with us today and that what we've

1808. been talking about just the the wisdom you shared.

1809. Is there anything else that you would like to any other

1810. encouragements or anything like that you would like to share

1811. with us before we kind of conclude may do we?

1812. Have just a couple of minutes. I want to tell you, I want to

1813. tell you a couple miracles that's happened since we've been

  1814. here. That's OK.

1815. Let's do it. So just want to build faith and

1816. I'll try to hurry. No, no.

1817. No, no, no, you have so. So when we got here eight years

1818. ago, church was, you know, I've been in several years of

1819. decline. The Lord's blessed us and, and,

1820. and God helped us turn it around.

1821. So I'm and I'm thankful this is one of the oldest churches in

1822. the district. This church was affiliated in

1823. 1949. So this church is 76 years old.

1824. So I'm thankful for every elder that went before me that laid

1825. groundwork to get us where we are.

1826. You last year after District Conference tell you 2 miracles

1827. that happened last year after District conference.

1828. Brother Philip Harrelson was on his way.

1829. We're going to have service that Saturday night.

1830. My wife was coming to the church Saturday afternoon to prepare

1831. for service, music, all that kind of good stuff.

1832. I get a phone call from from a number I do not know.

1833. I answer the phone call that that my wife had been in a

1834. wreck, that he had climbed into the vehicle with her because she

1835. was, you know, had been in this wreck.

1836. So she was on the way to church out here on the four lane.

1837. Somebody had come across and T boned her in the in the South in

1838. the driver's side. So I jump up some shoes on head

1839. out this way. When I get here, when I get out

1840. to the where the wreck happened, I get out of the vehicle

  1841. immediately. I'm I mean, I'm just overwhelmed

1842. because they have a sheet, a white sheet pulled over my wife.

1843. And so I'm, I mean, I'm just falling apart, man.

1844. I'm thinking, Oh my Lord, this is the worst thing.

1845. You know, my wife is as been killed in this automobile

1846. accident. So immediately a fire volunteer

1847. fireman came running to me. He told me, he said she's not,

1848. she's not dead. We put the sheet over because

1849. we're having to cut her out of the car and we wanted to make

1850. sure she didn't get more glass and stuff on her.

1851. So they took her out of the car, end up Med flighting her to

1852. Huntsville. Several people showed up at the

1853. hospital that night, but it's just a pen.

1854. We're one of them, Brother, sister, Cheryl.

1855. There was some more, I can't remember all of who all was

1856. there, but anyway, man, we prayed and the Lord worked a

1857. miracle. She she actually came home from

1858. the hospital that night. That's amazing.

1859. So I. Mean it went from the emotion of

1860. Oh my goodness, the Lord, you know, the Lord has taken my wife

1861. home, you know, through this automobile accident to she's

  1862. home. And so it's it's a what a

1863. miracle. You know what a miracle so it

1864. could have been, could have been much worse.

1865. Let me give you a couple just very quickly, another couple

1866. miracles. So several years ago when we

1867. got, we'd probably been here three years or so, maybe 3 or 4.

1868. The Lord started dealing with me about opening a recovery

1869. ministry at our church. And so I didn't know what we

1870. were doing. I had no clue.

1871. I started looking around at other Apostolic.

  1872. Recovery houses, recovery ministries.

1873. And so we started looking for a house to rent.

1874. We, we, there was no house to be found and nobody wanted that in

1875. their home, which is understandable.

1876. But so we just started doing everything we could do.

1877. We started setting up all, doing all of our legal stuff, all the

1878. getting all the paperwork set up that we needed, even though we

1879. didn't have a house. We just started working in

1880. recovery. My wife started teaching Bible

1881. studies at a local recovery house here.

1882. We started seeing some of these ladies come to our church,

1883. started getting baptized. And, and So what was happening

1884. was they would come, they get the Holy Ghost or they would

1885. feel the presence of God and then they wouldn't show back up.

1886. And I'm like, OK, we, we've got to have a recovery house because

1887. if you're in our recovery house, then you have, you're required

1888. to come to church, right? You're here Sunday morning,

1889. you're here Wednesday night, you're here for any special

1890. services, anything else we got going on, you're required to be

1891. here. So it starts teaching

1892. faithfulness and, and it requires them to stay in that,

1893. you know, in the presence of God, which allows the presence

1894. of God to work on them. So, and the Lord helps them

1895. through through many things. So, so man, we have been looking

  1896. for a house, couldn't find a house.

1897. We finally found a house not too far from here that the family

1898. was willing to allow us to rent that house and they knew what

1899. we're going to do. So we said, oh man, that's

1900. great. So we signed a lease on the

1901. House, signed a lease on the House, and then like 2 weeks,

1902. no, no, no, no. The week before we were going to

1903. open, we receive a call from the state fire Marshall.

1904. State Fire Marshall says, I hear you're opening recovery house in

1905. the area. You can't do that until we come

1906. out and inspected it. And I can go ahead and tell you

1907. you're going to need a sprinkler system put in that house.

1908. Well, we knew that there are many recovery houses in our area

1909. that do not have sprinklers. We didn't bring that up.

1910. We just said, OK, so he came out inspected, said you got to have

1911. a life safety plan, which is, you know, exit signs of, you

1912. know, evacuation routes, all this kind of stuff.

1913. And you got to have a sprinkler system.

1914. So we reached out to a a local licensed architect with state.

1915. This licensed architect had to drop a life safety plan, which

1916. includes evacuation routes, all the square footage of the house,

1917. all this kind of stuff. Now think about this.

1918. We're in a rental house and they're going to require us to

1919. put a sprinkler system in. Keep that in the back of your

1920. mind. So we we end up talking to this

1921. licensed engineer. We show her, she comes out, sees

1922. the house, she buys into the program.

1923. She's like, oh man, we need this in our area.

1924. I believe in what you're doing almost.

1925. We're going to cover the cost of your life.

  1926. Safe, safe. Wow.

1927. We're not going to charge you anything.

1928. Wow, OK, great. So wonderful.

1929. So we got the life safety plan that was a few $1000 my car, our

1930. chiropractor, because my wife was having trouble from the

1931. wreck. She was having to go to the

1932. chiropractor on a very regular basis.

1933. We became good friends with a chiropractor and the

1934. chiropractor knew about us wanting to open our recovery

1935. house. He also through conversations,

1936. you know, while he's cracking your neck, you know, he's, he's,

1937. we're talking to him and, and we let him know that, hey, we got

  1938. to have a sprinkler system. He's so and I, I'm in, I'm in a

1939. small group. They don't get our church, but,

1940. he said. I'm in a small group with a guy

1941. that owns Global Fire. Here in our.

1942. Here in our area. So he said I'm going to put you

1943. in contact with him. So him and my wife got in

1944. contact. He brought himself and his

1945. management team, came out, toured the house, said man, we

1946. love what y'all are doing. We want to be a part of it.

1947. What's the estimate going to cost us?

1948. What's going to cost you $34,000 sprinkler system in the house?

  1949. We're thinking, OK, we're leasing a house, we're going to

  1950. put a $34,000 sprinkler system in.

1951. I'm not even sure that the homeowner would want us to allow

1952. us to put a sprinkler system in the house.

1953. So we started talking to the homeowner.

1954. Hey, would you, would you let us do?

1955. Because we were a new entity, our recovery house, new entity,

1956. there was not enough financial history to be able to finance

1957. the house. So I'm trying to make a Long

1958. story short. No, no, no, no.

1959. So as much keep it going, so we we.

1960. We start talking to homeowner. Would you do a two year lease to

1961. own and then after two years we got enough financials we can go

1962. to the bank and borrow the money.

1963. Kemp first thought he's going to say yes.

1964. Came back, said no, I don't want to do that out, but I will sell

1965. the house out right to you. OK, what do we do?

1966. OK, so now we got to have we got to have a down payment, right?

1967. A down payment on the House and a $34,000 sprinkler system.

1968. Wow. OK, Lord, you directed us into

1969. this. We don't have that kind of money

1970. on hand to do this. What it what do you want us to

1971. do? So we started having

1972. conversations with the man that owns Global Fire.

1973. He come back and he said, you know, it's $34,000, but I think

1974. I can do it for 27. Then he comes back and said, we,

1975. I've worked with some of our vendors.

1976. I think I can do it for 20. Then he comes back and he said

  1977. I've, I've, I've got it down some more.

1978. I think I can do it for 14. Then he comes back again and

1979. says, hey, I think I've got it down to $8000.

  1980. Wow. I'm like, man, that's awesome.

1981. So, so we're thinking. And then the day they finished

1982. the sprinkler system, he tells us we work with our vendors.

1983. All we've been out is our labor and we're going to cover the

  1984. labor. Thank you Jesus.

1985. Completely free. $34,000 Sprinkler system Thank you

  1986. Jesus. All right.

1987. So in the meantime, we are trying to purchase this piece of

1988. that this house, right? We're trying to purchase this

1989. house. We needed almost $40,000 down

1990. payment for the house, right? For the house and for the first

1991. year's home owner and liability insurance.

1992. So talking like, OK, Lord, what what we going to do?

1993. How we going to get this right? And so we met with a local

1994. banker. He's like, man, I'll be happy to

1995. finance it. This is what you know, I mean

1996. just worked out that was going to finance it because we did not

1997. have the financial history to be able to to to do that.

1998. But man, a local banker great guy said we're going to work

1999. with you. We're going to get it.

2000. We believe in this. So threw a threw a contact with

2001. Bishop and Sister Phil, the priest in Murfreesboro, somebody

2002. that, that, that that goes to that church.

2003. We made a contact with them. They, his name is Lyle Span.

2004. He owns Sparrow REI. It's real estate investment.

2005. And So what they do is they go in, they take houses, flip them

2006. and, and, and, and he's got rental houses all this kind of

2007. different stuff. So we, we had a, we had a

2008. meeting with with Lyle and talk to him.

2009. He said, man, I believe in what y'all are doing.

2010. I want to help. How can I help?

2011. And and Monica, she's just very, she's very bold.

2012. And she said, yeah, I'm thankful for it.

2013. She said, she said, Lyle, I'll be honest with you, what we

2014. need, we need a down payment on this house.

2015. And he said, how much is that? And we told him, he said, OK,

2016. when you close and I'll write, I'll write that our company

2017. write the checks. So we.

2018. We closed on the House. He, he sent the money, we closed

2019. on the House and got the house and now we have a recovery

2020. house, got 12 beds in that recovery house.

2021. It was 1 miracle after another that God, wow, it was, it was,

2022. you can't tell me that it wasn't the hand of God.

2023. We didn't do it. The Lord did it.

2024. And so thank God for that. And because of that, we've had

2025. many people get the Holy Ghost, many baptized and God is doing

2026. great things in the lives of these ladies.

2027. So I'm thankful for that. And and so we are I mean, it's

2028. such a such a powerful thing to see see God just turn lives

  2029. around. Yeah, I'd.

2030. Seen the recovery center on Facebook.

2031. I see just Monica posting about it.

  2032. For a long time I was like, I don't, I don't know what what

2033. this is. I thought she just got a job at

2034. a recovery place. I didn't know it was actually

  2035. y'all's personal one. That's really cool.

2036. Yeah. So when I was praying about.

2037. Our church is Green Hill United, I think also church.

2038. So I was praying about, OK, Lord, what you want us to open

2039. this recovery house. What do you want us to call it?

2040. You know, all that kind of stuff.

2041. And so the Lord just spoke to me and said, Hey, I want it to be

2042. called heels recovery center and, and your scriptures going

2043. to be looking to the heels from what's come with your help, help

2044. come with from the Lord. And so we call it HRC heels

2045. recovery center and it goes right along with GHUPC.

  2046. So that's amazing. So anyway, it's it's a miracle

2047. man. God's done so many great things

2048. for us and we're so excited. It's awesome and so.

2049. It's so cool that you, you know, you know, and a lot of people,

2050. you know, I think that's one thing that lacks sometimes from

2051. from us is that we don't do some of these things helping out with

2052. the community, but you were faithful to God when God

2053. challenged you to reach out. And not only that, but he made a

2054. way for that to happen when you're you're looking at and

  2055. you're saying 74. $1000 yeah, it's amazing.

2056. I mean, it's, you know, it's just come out.

2057. Out of the air basically and and that's amazing and even just

2058. it's it's a good testimony to how God can use his people to to

2059. make that way so I'm. A I'm a firm believer in Kingdom

2060. providers. There are people out there that

2061. are part of the Kingdom of God that that the Lord has blessed

2062. financially and he did that so that they would become Kingdom

2063. providers. And Lyle and Abby Spann that are

2064. not connected to our church, they chose to be a be Kingdom

2065. providers. Their company said, hey, we're

2066. we're willing to buy into that. The man that owns global fire.

2067. My knowledge that they do go to a church, but it's not an

2068. Apostolic Church, but man God's blessed his company and that

2069. company chose to be a Kingdom provider.

2070. And it's so it's amazing me God puts people in places so that he

2071. can bless the Kingdom and help. And so thank God for that,

2072. right? And so I'm reminded of something

2073. Brother Mullins did when we first bought a railroad bed Rd.

2074. back at Lifegate. You know, when we got to

2075. closing, the closing attorneys and everybody like I've never

2076. seen this before. You come to closing and you're

2077. leaving with money, you know, you're leaving with a check.

2078. You know what in the world, how that happened, you know, And so

2079. God puts people, that makes connections and puts people in

2080. our lives so that they can be Kingdom providers.

2081. And I'm thankful for Kingdom providers, man.

2082. I'm absolutely thankful. So if God's blessed you, man,

2083. make sure you do your part and become a Kingdom provider.

2084. Thank you. Jesus, there's Bible verses, but

2085. we'll go to the the Marvel verse.

2086. With great power comes great responsibility, no?

2087. The. Yeah, that's that, that, that,

2088. that's, that's so it's and it's so good because, you know, like

2089. a lot of things, people, people will spend their money on all

2090. kinds of stuff. But whenever these people come

2091. back, everyone who goes through that house is going to have been

2092. impacted by the investment. That's exactly.

2093. There's no better way we could spend anything than think about

2094. all the people who are going to come through and get blessed by

2095. God. So I just I'm praising with you,

  2096. brother. It's it's.

2097. A miracle, man. And you know, not just one

2098. miracle, it's many miracles, But God is, he's so good man.

2099. He's provided so many ways. You know, we, you guys now at

2100. the sitting in the church here, you, you seen it that we're,

2101. we're on the back Rd. here, you know, on this little back Rd.

2102. And I've had so many people since we've been here in eight

2103. years tell me I didn't even know there was a United Pentagon.

2104. I didn't know there was a Pentecostal church in Green

2105. Hill. And it's because we've been on

2106. this back Rd. for all these years, literally 76 years since

2107. 1949, this church has been here. And so I feel like the Lord told

2108. me how you, you, we got a, we got to get this church out of

2109. the off the back Rd. and on the main road so it can be in the,

2110. you know, people can see it. And so 12 acres of land came

2111. available right on Hwy. 43, less than half a mile from where

2112. we're sitting now. And man, the Lord's helped us.

2113. We are going to close on that land in just a couple weeks.

2114. And, and so when we get our, when we get the land paid off,

2115. we're going to do our best to build a building there because I

2116. feel like the Lord wants to be, wants to be front and center in

2117. this community. And he wants something, he wants

2118. this community and this, you know, our surrounding area to

2119. know that man, there is a, there's a Pentecostal church

2120. here that you can come and experience the power and

2121. presence of God. And so I don't know when this is

2122. going to air, but next Sunday, November the 2nd, where is it?

2123. We're having our miracle Sunday here at church.

2124. And, and so our people have been praying.

2125. They've been seeking the Lord about, you know, one time

2126. sacrificial offering and then a 36 month pledge.

2127. And so because we're, we're just believing that we're going to

2128. man, we're going to get that land, get it paid off and we're

2129. going to, we're going to build a church there.

2130. So God, God's got ways, man, that's beyond our ways.

2131. He's got Kingdom providers, that's beyond us.

2132. And so there's just no telling what God's going to do.

2133. I mean, we're excited about it. So 12 acres is.

  2134. Nice, man. That's 12 acres.

2135. That's more than enough room to grow.

2136. Yeah, well. You know, I envision, I envision

2137. a campus, I envision ball fields, family life center, you

2138. know, all this kind of different stuff.

2139. And so because I, I, I, although we do want a new sanctuary, we

2140. need a new sanctuary. We're probably 3/4 full here and

2141. our parking is we're, we've got people parking in the grass when

2142. everybody's here. So you know, we, we're going to

2143. need a new facility very soon. And so the Lord knows that, but

2144. I also believe that the Lord's going going to work all of it

2145. out. And so I will go ahead and tell

2146. you that we have had this year alone, we've had a $25,000

2147. anonymous donation to the mayor that that's going to help us

2148. with our down payment. And so I'm thankful for that.

2149. I just think the Lord said I got this, you know, you know,

2150. because I mean, it's amazing what God does and God's people

2151. are faithful and thankful for that.

2152. But you start building in these days, it takes a lot of money

2153. and the Lord, but the Lord's going to the Lord's feel about

  2154. that. Absolutely it.

2155. Goes back, it goes back to that story, your grandmother, right,

2156. David and Goliath was the story you were raised on.

2157. And then you see God raising people up from the dead and then

2158. you see God protecting your wife and then you see God making a

2159. way for you to have a recovery house.

2160. There's no, I'm just speaking for you.

2161. I know there's no doubt in your mind that God's going to take

2162. the next step for you. Even when you can't see, there's

2163. no doubt you. Know but no doubt that God's

2164. going to do it and man I we're we're just excited about where

2165. we're going and what God's doing here.

2166. I mean, we're we're man just can't wait to see what the next

2167. 8 years old, you know. And so the Lord tarries then

2168. and, and if you don't, we're not going to worry about it anyway.

2169. Glory won't complain about that. That's right.

  2170. That's right. Oh goodness.

2171. All right. Thank you so much.

2172. For sharing, is there any anything else you would like to

2173. and with people? Thank you guys.

2174. I enjoy the podcast. Thank you for the opportunity to

2175. be on here and I appreciate what you guys are doing.

2176. Keep up the great work. I've enjoyed all the all the

2177. episodes. There's all of them.

2178. They've been all really good and so just enjoy them.

2179. So keep up, keep doing what you're doing and, and to all

2180. Lifegate that know me, I love you guys, appreciate you and to

2181. Lifegate that doesn't know me, then I hope to one day get to be

2182. in fellowship with you and and be in service with you.

2183. What will happen one day? It's just, you know, whether

2184. it's here or later on. That's right.

  2185. That's right. Yeah.

2186. But we just want to thank you for the Shane once again, the

2187. impact you made on Lifegate. You're in your your handprints

2188. all over where we're at now taking what building that

2189. helping build at that time, which is such a critical time

2190. and each of our lives. You know, you have that youth

2191. group that so many of those people.

2192. So Corey, you got Seth now living living in Boston.

2193. You know, you got so many people that you had your hands on.

2194. And we all just thank you and we're grateful for the

2195. opportunity to be here with you. Awesome.

2196. We're looking forward to what God's going to continue to do

2197. and what he's going to do here in Green Hill and also through

2198. the state. So we appreciate it well.

2199. Thank you. I do want to say this, if you

2200. haven't been on YouTube and topped in catalyst rafting trip,

2201. there is there is a great, very cool video of we when we went

2202. wild water rafting up in North Carolina.

2203. You ought to go check it out Catalyst rafting trip.

2204. I think we'll get you to the video and it's it's a lot of

  2205. fun. It was great.
