It's time for the Champions in Christ broadcast with Lee and Rhonda Harrison on

1017 Bay FM.

Good morning and welcome to Champions in Christ with Lee and Rhonda Harrison. We

want to rejoice in this day Psalms 118 24 says this is the day that the Lord has

made let us rejoice in it and be glad. So every day we rejoice every day because

the Lord has made it so let's rejoice. Psalms 90 12 says so teach us to number

our days that we may apply our hearts to wisdom. You know life is real it can be

really short and and unexpected things can happen. So we want to be sure to keep

our eyes on Jesus and look to him the author and finisher of our faith to have

his way in our life. You know he's got good plans for you today. Jeremiah 1 1

5 says before I formed you and your mother's womb I knew you. He knows you he

knew you before you were created when you were a spirit he knew you he knew

what he had why he chose you to send you to be a human on earth and to come to

know him that you would fulfill his will in the earth. If you're feeling today

alone if you're feeling like you have no purpose not true.

Jeremiah 1 15 also says I'm sorry 29 11 I know the plans I have for you declares

the Lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you hope and a

future. He has a bright future for you. Yes he does and you may say I don't know

what it is you just ask him you begin to talk to him just like you talk to your

friend he hears you and between the two of you you'll work it out the Bible says

let the peace of God be your umpire. That's what we follow the peace of God

inside and if you don't know him we will give you an opportunity at the end of

this broadcast to get to know our friend Jesus Christ. I want to talk today a

little bit about about Jesus about the time here on earth because we had a very

eventful couple of weeks and we'll get into that a little later but if you want

to turn to first so first Thessalonians 4 13 through 18 we're going to talk

about and see what the Lord has to say concerning what's going on and what

happens on a daily basis. 4 13 says but I would not have you to be ignorant

brethren concerning them that are asleep are asleep in that passage means have

died that you sorrow not even as others have no hope for if we believe that

Jesus died and rose again even them which also sleep in Jesus will God bring

with him what a great promise for this this we say unto you by the word of the

Lord that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall

prevent them which are asleep in other words they're going to come before us for

the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout and the voice of the

archangel and the trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first and then

we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the

clouds to meet the Lord in the air so shall we ever be with the Lord therefore

comfort one another with these words you know every day people die young people

old people and everywhere in between and death is never convenient it's never

kind but those that know Jesus have victory in Christ those that know Jesus

have an eternal place in heaven those that know Jesus will live forever in the

joy of the Lord and you may be saying I don't know about that I don't know much

about that well it's all available and it's all available only through Jesus

Christ so in John 13 31 it says therefore when he was gone out Jesus

said now is the Son of Man glorified and God glorified in him if God be glorified

in him God shall also glorify himself and shall straightway glorify him little

children yet in a little while I'm with you you seek me as I said unto the Jews

where I go you cannot come so now I say it to you you know Jesus was about to

die be resurrected and ascendant to heaven so he's letting the disciples know

a new commandment I give unto you that you love one another as I have loved you

you also love one another that love is a pure love that love is not manipulative

has no alternative ulterior motive you know when you love those that are lovely

the Bible says there's no reward in that for even the heathen can do that but

when you love the unlovely that's where our reward is why because what is love

love bears all things believes all things hopes all things and endures all

things so here's Jesus getting ready to be offered offer himself and he's telling

us he's leaving us with these words to love one another as he has loved us and

then 35 verse 13 35 says and by this shall all men know that you are my

disciples if you love one another you know a true a true tree is known by its

fruit you know you know to go to an apple tree to get an apple or a cherry

tree to get a cherry and and you will be known by your fruit and that fruit will

be by his love and you say but there are people in my family or my life that I

can't love they're not lovable there they're like a porcupine who wants to

hug a porcupine right but guess what God will give you the strength and he'll

give you the wisdom and he'll show you how to love them because most people

that hurt people are hurt people hurt people hurt people so hurt is is always

out there you're oh there's disappointments in life there's hurt

there's frustrations there's all kinds of things that can be disappointing but

you know God's love his grace his mercy his comfort is always available if we

just turn to him and you say well how do I do that you just call on his name you

just you just worship him you reach out to a friend who can pray with you the

Holy Spirit when you get born again it's the greatest gift of all by the way but

when you get born again the Holy Spirit comes and lives inside of you and he

loves you and he will help you and he will comfort you we're gonna go on and

chapter 14 of John it says let not your heart be troubled you believe in God

believe also in me and in my father's house are many mansions and if it were

not so I would not I would have told you for I go to prepare a place for you and

if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto

myself that where I am you may be also and where I go you know and the way you

know and the way we get there is through Jesus Christ he says you know Thomas

said to him Lord we know not where you're going or how we can know the way

and he said I am the way I am the truth I am the life and no man comes to the

father except through me if you had known me you should have known my father

also from henceforth you know him and have seen him you know Jesus was saying

you know his disciples even now here on earth are the way you come to know the

father because of their life because of that fruit in their life they're bearing

the fruit of Jesus Christ of Jesus they're bearing the fruit of Jesus so as

you as you know him as you learn of his love you will know the father and Jesus

said have I been so long with you yet you have not known me Philip he that has

seen me has seen the father and he and and they say show me the father believe

not that I am in the father and the father of me the words that I speak unto

you I speak not of myself but the father that dwells in me he does the work and

that's the same with Christians today you know Bible the Bible says you know

he's called his disciples to do the same thing Jesus did to believe God number

one to love number two to lay hands on the sick to cast out demons to set free

those that are captive even to raise the dead you know and we do that not in our

own strength or power but through the power of the Holy Ghost that he is for

ordained for us to have him so we're going to continue it says verily I say

unto you he that believes on me the works that I do shall you do also

greater works than these shall he do because I go to my father for whatsoever

you ask in my name will I do that the father may be glorified in heaven and if

you ask anything in my name I will do it and that's according to his will and his

will is his word his word is alive because he is the word and his word is

the truth so don't think there's anything impossible for God there's not

he is the God of the impossible if you love me in verse 15 keep my

commandments and I will pray the father and he shall give you another the

comforter that he will abide with you forever even as the spirit of truth whom

the world cannot receive because it doesn't see him neither knows him but

you know him for he dwells with you and he shall be in you for Jesus said I will

not leave you comfortless I will come to you and yet in a little while the world

sees me no more but you see me because I live you shall live also at that day you

shall know that I am in the father and you in me and I in you and he that has

my commandments and keeps them he it is shall be shall and he it is sorry that

loves me he that loves me shall be loved by my father and I will love him and

will manifest myself to him what does manifest mean he's gonna make known who

he is to you if you give him the opportunity you know the Bible says seek

me and you shall find me when you seek me with your whole heart God wants you

to seek him he is a treasure he is the treasure the ultimate the best the

greatest the Almighty he's a manual God with you he is the everlasting father if

you never had a father if your father wasn't there maybe he's alive but he

just wasn't there for you he our heavenly father is there for you if you

need a brother Jesus is your elder brother but he's also your master but

he's also your friend but he's also our Lord and Savior he's all in all and he's

all you need right now if you're alone right now I just want you to shut your

eyes and say the name of Jesus Jesus and he'll come right where you are you'll

feel his presence and you can speak to him and tell him everything you're

feeling and everything you need from him you know he wants us to fight the fight

of faith right what is the fight of faith to fulfill the work that he's

called you to and you go up I can't do anything I'm not called to be a preacher

actually every disciple is called to share Jesus you share it in different

ways but most of all you share it by action you know going to church is great

but if you don't know him you're wasting your time if you go in a church and you

come out the same you're wasting your time you're just going through the

motions and Jesus wouldn't want you to do that if you go to church and it's a

good thing to find a church but you want a church that preaches the Word of God

alive Jesus is alive he will change you today in a moment's time you will can be

changed into a new creation and we're gonna give you that opportunity and if

you've been changed and you've walked away just ask him to cut just tell him

you want to come back he'll forgive you immediately you have to repent that

means do that 180 turn and do no sin no more does that mean you'll never sin

again no we're human it just means you won't you you're choosing not to do that

continual habitual thing that hurts God's heart you know we you know when

someone hurts your heart how you feel well God feels too he feels everything

you're going through he's right there with you but he also hurts sometimes to

you he loves you nothing will change that love for you that he has but we can

hurt and we can disappoint him but also when we repent our sins are thrown into

the sea of forgetfulness as far as the East is from the West never to be

remembered and if you bring it back up to him he doesn't know what you mean

because he's already forgotten it that's how great our God is that's the love of

God that's the love of God you know I want to go on to 1st Corinthians 15 and

in verse 51 it says behold I show you a mystery we shall not all sleep or die

but we shall be all be changed and in the moment in the twinkling of an eye

at the last trump for the trumpet south shall sound the dead shall be raised

incorruptible and we shall be changed for this corruption must put on in

corruption and this mortal must put on immortality so when the

corruptible shall have put on in corruption and this mortal shall have

put on immortality then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written death

is swallowed up in victory hallelujah hallelujah glory to God death where is

your sting oh grave where is your victory the sting of death is sin the

strength of sin is the law we're not under the law anymore the law is the Old

Testament it was the schoolmaster and I don't have time to really get into that

but we are under the freedom of the New Testament a better covenant does that

mean we want to go out and sin no it means because God lives in you and your

love will be so great for him you won't want to sin you won't want to hurt him

the same way you don't like people to hurt you we don't want to hurt him you

know he'll love you no matter what even the people in hell he loves he loves his

creation but we make the choice we make the choice are we going to do what he

would like us to do or what we would like us to do you know Galatians 2 20

says I am crucified with Christ it's not I that live but Christ that lives in me

and the faith that I now live I live by the faith of the Son of God you know you

don't have to live by yourself you don't have to do life by yourself and it's

nice to have friends and family that's wonderful but I know there's some of you

out there that don't have either one of those either but you can have Jesus

Christ he will forever live with you and be with you no one can pluck you out of

his hand you know it's the good news that brings people to repentance why

because God is so good and he has so many promises and the Bible says those

promises are yes and amen right yes and amen to those that believe but you have

to believe how much do you have to believe a little mustard seed amount but

as you read on the word as you go to church that's a live church that feeds

you the Word of God where the power of God is in demonstration you'll continue

to be changed to be changed and there are those places out there or a good

Bible study or gathering where the men and women of God gather in Jesus you'll

know you'll know so that when that day comes and the time comes and Jesus

returned you'll be changed in the twinkling of an eye it's so fast the

twinkling not the blink not a snap of the fingers the twinkling of an eye you

know my my beloved husband crossed over not not too many days ago and he's in

his heavenly home and he's continuing the work he did here on earth so I'll be

the one hosting champions in Christ but he wanted you to know that he wants you

to be that champion in Christ God's called you to be he wants you to finish

your mission his favorite scripture was Ephesians 6 10 be strong in the Lord in

the power of his might that's nothing we can do on our own that's something we do

through him he gives us that power and that strength to walk out the walk now

that walk will not be without curveballs there was no expectation of my husband

crossing over there was none wheat that was something that came out of left

field but you know Jesus was there and I can testify of his goodness I can

testify of his peace that came over me I can testify do I miss him every moment

of every day do I feel like I've been ripped in two absolutely and maybe you

do too maybe you lost someone but I can tell you the peace and the grace of God

that covers my life is a piece I've I've never walked in I've never had to walk

this way it's totally different than when you lose other family members like

a mom and dad mine are in heaven with Lee and they're all having a ball

although I I can suspect my husband is going to that throne he's heading to

that throne oh praise God we're gonna play a couple of songs and I want you to

rejoice in the Lord and I'll come back at you on the other side

they were like prisons that we couldn't escape buddy came and he died any roles

those walls are up

And it was those giants I've deadened up

Maybe drugs and alcohol became your best friend

God can set you free and He'll do it in a moment's time
