  1. It's time for the Campion of Christ broadcast with Rhonda Harrison on 1017, Bay at Bound.

  2. Good morning.

  3. Thank you for listening to Champions in Christ.

  4. This is the day the Lord has made.

  5. We will rejoice and be glad in it.

  6. Why?

  7. Because God is all goodness, all grace, all mercy, all love, all joy, all peace, all the

  8. things we need.

  9. He has it all and it's all available for all of us.

  10. Praise God.

  11. Praise God.

  12. We're going to get into the Word today.

  13. We're going to talk about, there's something I've been thinking about and talking to the

  14. Lord about and looking into the Word about.

  15. You know, the Bible says that the Word of God is a light unto our path and a lamp unto

  16. our feet, right?

  17. And when you're in a dark room and there's no lights on, no window in that room, it's

  18. all darkness, but the second you light a match, a candle, flip the switch or open the curtain,

  19. light overcomes darkness.

  20. And you know, it's so cool that the natural things display the glory of God, you know,

  21. and that's the same in the spiritual realm that light overcomes darkness always.

  22. You can't have light in a room and bring something black in or dark and it take over

  23. the room.

  24. No, light always trumps darkness.

  25. Why?

  26. Because Jesus is the light of the world and he made a show of Satan openly of the total

  27. darkness.

  28. He made a show of it openly and he was obedient unto death that we could live a life of light

  29. and salt and happy.

  30. It doesn't mean we're without trial or tribulation, but it doesn't mean we are victors in this

  31. life.

  32. We are victorious.

  33. We are victorious more than conquerors by the beautiful, precious Holy Spirit that lives

  34. inside of each and every one of us who have given our life to Christ.

  35. So we want to talk about that today.

  36. And you know, when I think about Satan or Lucifer, which isn't very often because he's

  37. a defeated foe and thank God Jesus defeated him on the cross.

  38. If you go into Isaiah 14, we find out what happened and who he was.

  39. Originally Satan was called Lucifer and he was a cherubim.

  40. He was an angel.

  41. He was a little, let's just read it.

  42. It's let's start in 1412.

  43. It says, how art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning?

  44. How are you cut down to the ground, which did weaken the nations for you have set in

  45. your heart? I will ascend into heaven.

  46. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God.

  47. I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, the size of the north.

  48. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds.

  49. I will be like the most high.

  50. Yet you have been brought to hell to the sides of the pit.

  51. They that see you shall narrowly look upon you and consider saying, is this the man that

  52. troubled the earth and did shake kingdoms that made the world as a wilderness and destroyed

  53. the cities that opened not the houses of the prisoners, that all the kings of the nations,

  54. even all of them lie in glory, even everyone to his own house.

  55. But you are cast out thy grave like an abominable branch and are slain and thrust into the swore

  56. that you go down to the stones of the pit and a carcass trodden under your feet.

  57. You know, hallelujah, that Jesus is our Lord, that God, our father saw Lucifer getting all

  58. prideful in his heart, thinking he was going to exalt exalt his throne up like God and

  59. thought he was like God.

  60. He had so much pride, but he didn't start out like that.

  61. He started out beautiful, he started out as a cherub, an anointed cherub, and we'll

  62. go to Ezekiel 28 to find that thou art anointed cherub that covers and I've set you so.

  63. And you were upon the holy mountain of God and you walked up and down in the midst of

  64. the brilliant stones and you were complete in all your ways and the day was created until

  65. iniquity was found in you by the multitude of merchandise.

  66. You filled the midst of you with violence and have sinned.

  67. Therefore I will cast you as profane out of the mountain of God and I will destroy you

  68. o covering cherub from the midst of the brilliant stones.

  69. Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty.

  70. You've corrupted wisdom by reason of your brightness.

  71. I will cast you to the ground and I will lay you before kings that they may behold you.

  72. You have defiled many sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities and by the iniquity of

  73. your traffic.

  74. I will bring forth a fire from the midst of thee and devour you and I will bring your

  75. ashes upon the earth inside of all of them that behold you.

  76. You know, Satan was a beautiful cherub.

  77. He was an angel, right?

  78. His name was Lucifer and and he had the Bible talks about how his workmanship and the pipes

  79. were prepared in him.

  80. He had these brilliant pipes of worship, you know, that he would lead worship in heaven

  81. and he was in the Garden of Eden and and you know, he enjoyed all the beautiful things

  82. in God in the spiritual realm that we today can enjoy because of Jesus Christ.

  83. But there was a niquity found in him.

  84. Why the absence of light is darkness, right?

  85. So the absence, the more he got out of the presence of God, the more he started thinking

  86. on himself.

  87. Let's listen again.

  88. You know, he said, I will ascend into heaven.

  89. I will exalt my throne.

  90. I will sit on the Mount.

  91. I will listen to the clouds.

  92. I will be like the most high.

  93. What is that full of?

  94. I, I, I, I, I, that's what pride is when we think so highly of ourself and we hear.

  95. I, I, I, I and Proverbs 16, 18 said, pride comes before a fall and destruction.

  96. I mean, pride comes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.

  97. You know, God hates pride.

  98. He hates a proud look in Proverbs.

  99. It talks about that.

  100. You know, God resists the proud, but he gives grace to the humble.

  101. You know, Satan was a was the perfect example of where pride will take us.

  102. And we all can get into pride.

  103. You know, the Bible says knowledge puffs up.

  104. So if you've, you know, if you're pretty knowledgeable in an area, whether it's a, a college degree,

  105. whether it's medicine or landscaping or mechanics or mechanical engineering or even cooking,

  106. you know, we can get prideful and, and build our, and built up and, and pride leads us

  107. and brings more darkness, more darkness.

  108. But when we get filled with the light of God, which is Jesus Christ himself through the

  109. Holy spirit, when we get, when we read the word and allow him to come and change our

  110. heart and cleanse our heart, when we repent and lay ourself down and, and at the mercy

  111. of God and say, Lord, I need you.

  112. You know, without God, the Bible says our righteousness is filthy rags, but with God,

  113. and when we humble ourselves, there are many promises with humility.

  114. It's a beautiful thing.

  115. You know, our perfect example of humility is Jesus Christ.

  116. He, he was the one that was perfect in all his way.

  117. He never sent.

  118. He never sent.

  119. And so his, his whole life was the purest example that we have of God's humility and

  120. how weird it being what he wants us to be like.

  121. And so let's talk about that.

  122. Let's talk about what, what Jesus did.

  123. You know, Jesus came on earth.

  124. He laid down deity.

  125. He laid down royalty in heaven.

  126. He laid down all that he knew up there, all that he did up there to come on the earth,

  127. to be born of a virgin, to live on this earth and really to be obedient to death because

  128. we needed a sinless lamb.

  129. We needed the blood of a sinless lamb to undo what Adam and Eve did when they send.

  130. You know, so what did he do?

  131. Let's read in Philippians chapter two.

  132. We're going to start in verse one.

  133. It says, if there be any consolation in Christ, any comfort of love, any fellowship of the

  134. spirit, if any bowels and mercies fulfill my joy that you be like minded, having the

  135. same love being of one of court and one mind, let nothing be done through strife or pride.

  136. But with lowliness of mind, let each esteem the other above themselves.

  137. Take not to every man on his own things, but every man also the things of others.

  138. You know, we need to take care of one another.

  139. God wants us to be humble like he was with the love of God in our hearts.

  140. It says, let this find be in you, which was also in Christ.

  141. He wants us thinking the way he thinks.

  142. He wants us living the way he lives.

  143. He wants us serving the way he served and he served mankind.

  144. Never he washed the disciples feet, yet he was their leader.

  145. You know, he laid down his life for the sheep.

  146. Who are the sheep?

  147. That's you and that's me.

  148. That's those of us who believe in Christ.

  149. He laid down his life that that relationship would be restored with God, right?

  150. And God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost, those three are one.

  151. That's what the Bible says.

  152. It says in verse six, who being in the form of God, though it not robbery to be equal

  153. with God, but made himself of no reputation, took up the form of a servant and was made

  154. in the likeness of men.

  155. That was him being born as a virgin and rate being raised up and being found in fashion

  156. like a man.

  157. He humbled himself and became obedient unto death.

  158. Even the death of the cross.

  159. He did that for you.

  160. He did that for me.

  161. He loves his creation.

  162. The human beings on earth.

  163. He loves all his creation, but the human beings on earth.

  164. He died for us.

  165. He laid down his life.

  166. There's great.

  167. There's no greater love than a man laid down his life for his friends.

  168. That's what the word says.

  169. And it says in verse nine, where for God has highly exalted him and given him a name, which

  170. is above every name, that the name of Jesus, every knee would bow things and heaven things

  171. and the earth things under the earth.

  172. And every tongue would confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God, the father.

  173. Hallelujah.

  174. Hallelujah.

  175. That's what we're to do.

  176. And do you know there are scriptures about humility that bring promise?

  177. It absolutely brings promise with it.

  178. And I just thank God.

  179. He didn't have to give us promises.

  180. Just salvation would have been enough, but the salvation includes all the promises, which

  181. is very, very exciting.

  182. So every now and then, more often now than not, we need to pray the prayer that David

  183. pray.

  184. He says in Psalm 51 10, create in me a clean heart.

  185. Oh God, renew a right spirit within me.

  186. Why?

  187. Because we get things in our ear gate.

  188. We get things in our eye gate, what we see and what we hear, what we ponder, what we take

  189. down into our heart can sometimes come out not so good.

  190. You know what I mean?

  191. I mean, we all have dealt with pride at different junctions in life.

  192. And sometimes on a daily or weekly basis, we have to cast that down, die to ourself.

  193. You know, we are our best when we are serving.

  194. That was something Joni Parsley used to always say, and it stuck with me and it's ring so

  195. true because it's proven in the life of Jesus.

  196. We are at our best when we're serving others.

  197. You know, Proverbs 18 12 says, Hotty ness goes before destruction and humility proceeds

  198. honor.

  199. So you will be lifted up when you lower yourself.

  200. Honor will come because of your humility.

  201. Proverbs 21 4 says, Hotty eyes and a proud heart and evil actions are sin.

  202. Pride is just a root of all those other sins that come.

  203. And we don't want those, right?

  204. We want to bring true to God.

  205. We want to be strong in the Lord and the power of his might.

  206. And part of that is being humble.

  207. You know, the Bible says Moses was the most meekest or humblest man on the planet.

  208. You know, and look at what he did for God in his humility.

  209. Humility doesn't mean you cower and you're not bold in what you believe or stand for.

  210. But it's having a humility of heart.

  211. It's lifting others before yourself.

  212. You know, in Proverbs 3 34, the Bible says God will give grace to the humble grace so

  213. you can receive grace when you humble yourself.

  214. You know, again, Proverbs 15 33 says that the fear of the Lord or the respect and honor,

  215. the reverence of the Lord is instruction of wisdom and before honor comes humility.

  216. You know, Proverbs 16 5 says proud and heart being prideful in your heart is an abomination

  217. to the Lord.

  218. It says everyone that is proud and heart is an abomination to the Lord.

  219. Though hand in hand, he shall not go unpunished.

  220. But by mercy and truth and equity is purged and by the fear of the Lord men depart from

  221. evil.

  222. Honor and respect and worship to God, we will depart from evil, right?

  223. A good tree can't bear bad fruit and good fruit, but it's all dependent upon your heart.

  224. The Bible says guard your heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life.

  225. You know, we had several kings in the Bible that were that were that maybe started outright

  226. King Uzziah, but then ended in pride and he ended up getting leprosy and dying when he

  227. exalted himself.

  228. You know, pride never takes us to a godly place or a place that God can honor.

  229. It always takes us to a place where we'll be brought down.

  230. You know, thankfully, there are the Bible says that through humility come riches and

  231. honor and life through humility.

  232. And we, when we submit ourself, God will lift us up and promote us.

  233. The Bible says the kingdom of God is given to the, to the humble, right?

  234. Blessed are the poor in spirit or blessed are the humble for theirs is the kingdom of

  235. God, right?

  236. It's having that humble heart.

  237. It's reaching out to God with a heart of love, true humility comes from a heart of love,

  238. true humility.

  239. We're not talking about slavery, we're talking about servant hood just as Jesus was a servant

  240. to others, but yet he was King and he was Lord.

  241. King David had it all and we know King David stumbled, but guess what?

  242. He prayed that prayer, create in me a clean heart and you can pray that prayer every day

  243. that you need it and the blood of Jesus will cleanse you.

  244. The mercy of God will come and revive you.

  245. You know, thank God for his mercy.

  246. Where would we be without the mercy of God?

  247. Where would we be?

  248. Wow.

  249. Wow.

  250. We would not be in a good place.

  251. I can tell you, I wouldn't be, you know, just stop and think, have you been prideful lately?

  252. Have you exalted yourself or puffed yourself up or, or down someone else?

  253. You know, let's repent, let's get on God's side of that.

  254. You know, it's, it's a prayer.

  255. It's an attitude of the heart.

  256. It's a, it's a changing of the mind.

  257. More garbage in garbage out, but the Bible in the Bible out, love in love out, mercy

  258. and mercy out.

  259. The more you read and soak in the word of God, which is Jesus Christ, hallelujah.

  260. He was called the word.

  261. Yes.

  262. He was called the word of God.

  263. That's another name for Jesus.

  264. More of Jesus in more of Jesus out.

  265. You know, he loves you today.

  266. He wants to bless you.

  267. If you just reach out to him in a humble heart and say, Lord, I need you help Jesus, just

  268. say his name, Jesus, he's right there with you.

  269. The Bible says he's everywhere.

  270. He's in heaven.

  271. He's in hell.

  272. He's here.

  273. He's all over.

  274. He can hear you.

  275. He's a whisper away and he wants to help you.

  276. He wants to help you.

  277. He wants to help you.

  278. He wants to help you.

  279. He wants to help you.
